Do you think any of the slashers could love their s/o enough to stop killing?

Would any of the Slashers stop killing for their S/O?

Thomas Hewitt would if he could. He doesn’t kill because he wants too, it’s something that he feels he has to do for the family, he does it pretty much because Hoyt made him and now he believes it's something he has to do for survival. It’s not really a matter of whether he loves you enough, he loves you more than anything. Would he stop killing if he could? Absolutely! The thought of a normal life with you would be a dream come true. The issue is that he can’t, not as long as Hoyt has any power over the family. Even then, this is the family's norm now...it might take getting him away from the family altogether for a chance at a normal life.

Michael Myers likely couldn’t stop even if he wanted too. He kills because of an impulse/urge that he can’t control. While he might become less aggressive in general with a loving S/O, it’s very unlikely he would stop killing. Simply because that urge won’t go away, so he wouldn’t be able to stop killing...it’s the whole reason he kills in the first place. Might kill less though if something about his S/O lessens or quietens those urges, but will never stop completely.

Jason Voorhees has the room for some revaluation. He kills out of a sense of duty, which would be very difficult to ‘unteach’ him but maybe not impossible. It would take a long time and a lot of patience and communication but there is a small chance you could convince him that he doesn’t need to hurt the people who come to the camp, that they aren’t actually doing anything majorly wrong. If you can’t deal with the killing, that would be a good motivator for him to revaluate some things but this is still an unlikely outcome.

Brahms Heelshire doesn’t need to kill. It’s not like Brahms has much opportunity to kill, it’s something that will happen if he feels threatened. So yes, he could definitely love his S/O enough to stop killing completely. If you stay in a relationship with him, enjoying you're little isolated life together, Brahms isn't even going to encounter somebody he wishes to harm. He's happy as long as you stay.

Bo Sinclair is...a difficult person, as usual. Bo could probably stop. He doesn’t go out looking for people to kill, he waits for them to come to the town and he can be waiting for a very long time so it’s not like it’s something that he has to do. But he can be stubborn, if he likes doing it why would he stop? So...theoretically, yes. But realistically? No. This is what he does, his duty to Ambrose, and he enjoys it, you knew that from the beginning and that's the end of it.

Vincent Sinclair has a lot of promise. Having somebody who just loves and accepts him does some wonderful things for him. Vincent absolutely adores you and if you really don’t like the killing that happens in the town, it will be a step in the right direction with him. The main issue is that Bo has a lot of control over him, and that type of relationship isn’t something that can change over night, plus this is his normal now. Getting out of Ambrose with him might be his only hope for full rehabilitation, he would stop killing if he left Ambrose but...what are really the chances of that happening?

Lester Sinclair also has a lot of promise. Out of the three brothers, he probably cares for the killing the least. It’s not something he enjoys like Bo and it doesn’t contribute to his art like it does for Vincent, so...yes? Yes, Lester can definitely stop killing and most likely would...if it weren’t for his brothers. He is very loyal to his family, and that’s the main obstacle. He loves you so much...it’s just a difficult situation. Similarly to Vincent, getting him out of Ambrose could do him wonders.

Bubba Sawyer has the same problem as Thomas. Bubba doesn’t like killing, he does it because it’s a job to be done, it's what his family expect him to do, and he is mostly motivated by fear and his family. If he had the opportunity to stop, he probably would with ease, especially if you wanted him to stop. Unfortunately he can’t, not unless it was just the two of you, otherwise he would be expected to carry out his role as usual.

Billy Lenz needs the support. Yes, Billy sometimes has the urge to get a little...stabby. However, these intrusive thoughts could lessen with the soft love and the proper support of a S/O (and some major therapy), as he will have somebody to go to and help him through it. So yes, he can stop killing. Hell, you might even be able to get our boy into some much needed therapy.

Asa Emory (The Collector) couldn’t stop for long. It’s not that he doesn’t love you...he might even attempt to kill less but it’s not something he’ll be able to maintain. He loves you and has come to realise that he now needs you in his life but he also needs his ‘hobbies’. He would simply get bored without it and that has nothing to do with you, it’s just a part of his life that he needs. If you can't handle that well...he can't let you leave.

Jesse Cromeans (Chromeskull) is similar to Asa. While he could try to lessen the amount he kills if you have a significant problem with it and while he would enjoy spending more time at home, eventually he would miss his ‘work’. It’s a job but it’s a job that he enjoys. He hopes that a compromise of keeping you as far away from it and out of the loop as possible (without lying to you) will be enough. There is no way he could give up being Chromeskull.

Otis Driftwood isn’t going to stop. It’s just not going to happen. He does love you, he really does but this is a part of who he is. If you can’t accept that (he doesn’t expect you to take part in it) then of course it’s going to be a problem...it might get messy but he’s not going to stop killing. You knew who he was, what did you expect?

Baby Firefly might cut back at most. At MOST Baby will kill less but she’s not going to be able to stop, and she won't pretend that she will. She loves causing trouble so she can technically do that without killing anyone but...well, it’s still fun to her. In the end if you want to join the family, you’re going to have to get on board at least a little bit.

If you're Yautja is a hunter, you'll just have to accept it. Hunting is a huge part of Yautja culture. Sure, there were Yautjas that are more dedicated to technological, scientific, and medical developments and they don't dedicate so much time and energy to hunting. However, if your mate his a hunter, it might be more of a problem. For him, his hunts are something to be proud of. If you simply don't want to see the game from his hunts because you don't have the stomach for it, he will be considerate of it. But he will not stop hunting, it's in his nature. He won't kill any humans if that bothers you, though he likely didn't anyway since they're 'not worthy prey' for the most part.

Not to start off on a sexual note, but you’re heavy into size difference — both the security it brings and the idea of it being so easy for him to pick you up and manhandle you is like, the best thing ever for you guys.

I think a good amount of you rz michael myer fans are plus size, mainly because I myself am so I see the appeal of a man that is strong enough to lift you with ease, when the average man might have a struggle — even if they don’t, it’s hard to let go of the insecurity and fear that they will, whereas michael has flipped a damn car so no worries there.

You like the dominance, the fact that he could kill you with one hand, but he doesn’t. It makes you feel protected, even though he’s the one you should be protected from.

It’s giving knife play and a choking kink. You’re into the idea of being marked by another, permanent scars left behind as a reminder of them and a hand large enough it covers your entire throat, other hand holding your wrists above your head.

You prefer forced submission.

Something about being stalked everywhere you go is appealing

Again with the size difference — you guys go crazy for a man that can throw you around like a sack of potatoes.

Family is important to you, someone who goes to any length to protect and provide is something you never really had, so you find comfort in those who give what you wish you had.

I’m feeling like there is a breeding kink going on here, the idea of someone loving you so tenderly and selflessly sends you into overdrive — maybe you’re insecure yourself with your own looks, so having someone like Tommy makes you feel better — not because he is ugly by any means, but because he himself knows what it is like to think lesser of yourself for not being able to conform to society's norms of what is desirable.

I feel like your morals clash with the average person. You wouldn’t be too against cannibalism; perhaps you wouldn’t mind trying it if it was consensual or maybe you would try it as a means of survival, much like the Hewitts. Either way, I don’t sense a lot of distaste on the subject of cannibals.

You enjoy the finer things in life, maybe you’re an artist or musician of sorts – might be a slight alcoholic with a preference of wine or champagne.

Similar to Thomas Hewitt fans, you are not against cannibalism, you see it no differently than killing an animal for its meat, just less accepted by society. You’d probably help Hannibal with the designs he does on the dead bodies he doesn’t eat.

Domestic life doesn’t seem like a bad thing to you. Having a loving husband who will stop at no means to keep you safe, Sunday dinners you share with friends and coworkers, the occasional ball or fancy dinner — it’s a dream, really.

Kids are hit or miss with you. Maybe you’d rather be the frequent babysitter or adopt, but you almost prefer your life to be child free so you can do your own thing with no other responsibility – maybe you were the child that “ruined” your parent’s love and do not wish the same thing for yourself, because much like you, a child does not deserve such a burden.

When someone asks you “What is a trait you’d like in a partner?” possessive is a word you use often. You yearn to feel sought after, desired. You want to be worth something to someone, to be held close and whispered sweet nothings to.

Last thing, but I feel like promises have often fallen through; people promise this or that and never go through with it, so you have some major trust issues on top of the obvious daddy issues and love for dilfs.

Self indulgent prompt, as a treat

Michael Myers (Halloween, OG and RZ)

Couldn't care less. Not in a mean way, he just barely registers it.

Would not put the two and two together by himself. Fashion is something he doesn’t think about, so it would take his S/O to mention it in some context for him to finally go Oh.

Doesn’t mention it, but pays more attention to what you wear after that. After he realizes it’s a way for you to express yourself without saying anything, he becomes much more fond of how you dress.

RZ Michael would compare it to his mask making in his head and be more interested in what you wear than OG Michael. RZ Michael might even let you style him if you wanted to, but only if it’s a style he’s comfortable with (read: Metalhead, Grunge etc.). OG Michael would not lol.

Overall supportive of you in his own weird Michael way. And lord have mercy on whoever says anything about how you dress.

Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th)

This man has no concept of what fashion even is. Somehow even more lost than Michael on this topic.

His only point of reference are the campers that he kills. And they tend to be awfully naked usually, so it’s not like that tells him much.

Definitely does notice that his S/O puts more attention to how they present themselves though. Doesn’t mean he understands why, but he is aware of it.

It does make him curious, but he has no clue how to bring that up to them, plus he’s always fearful of pointing out something about people’s appearance that’s not the ‘norm’ due to his own experiences. He’d hate to make his S/O feel like they’re judged.

It’d come up one way or another and after explaining to him it’s how you feel most comfortable and how you express yourself, Jason is awe-struck. He probably thinks it’s so cool that you’re just doing it for yourself.

Then he realizes you’re dressing up for him too and he’s flustered around you for the next week.

Thomas Hewitt (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 - 2006)

Another man that doesn’t really get fashion… Are you seeing a theme here?

He spent most of his life trying to stand out as little as he could, a lot of neutral colours, simple cuts, minimal patterns, something he can do his job in. In that sense he has paid attention to fashion more than one would think. So if his S/O has a more bold style it kind of throws him for a loop.

It’s something he thinks about when he lets his mind wander, he wonders about what dressing like that means to you and what other motives you have for it. He is so curious, but too shy to ask about it, because the more he thinks about it, the more personal it becomes in his head.

If his S/O asks him if he likes their outfit/a piece of clothing he will stop everything he’s doing and nod, his answer clear.

It might come as a shock to you, since he hasn’t shown any interest in it before, but he does care. Would let you style him if you wanted, but he’d be so flustered the entire time. It would also take him a bit to build up the confidence to go out and about his day like that. Even if it’s just you getting him a nicer pair of pants and tucking his shirt in.

If any of his family has something to say about how you dress, his glare is enough to shut them down quickly. He admires your courage to present however you want.

Bubba Sawyer (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 - 1986)

Really excited about it!!!

He wants you to explain why you picked what you did to wear and what your favourite clothes are and also what you would pair with this piece-

He lives in an old house with men! He’s so excited to finally have someone that at least thinks about fashion!

Would love to wear matching outfits when you feel like it. Overall just wants to be involved in the process of you dressing up, it’s a really comforting and safe space for him.

Your knowledge of fashion would help him with figuring out how he wants to express himself on certain days for sure. He loves knowing he’ll have your support and advice on this stuff.

Would want his S/O and him to do little fashion shows for themselves, just for fun. Since you barely ever have ‘reason to dress up’.

Bonus points if you’re into makeup as well, you’d both experiment with bold and colourful looks and have a lot of fun doing it!

Bo Sinclair (House of Wax)

He pretends he knows about fashion and the current trends, but he knows jackshit.

Doesn’t mean that you dressing up doesn’t take 70% of his attention when you’re in the same room. He tries to play it cool, but he is Looking.

He definitely has a few favourite pieces from your closet that make his cheeks a bit hotter than he’d like.

Honestly less weird about it than one would expect. He’s pretty respectful (because he likes you) so any sleazy comments about what you’re wearing are saved for when you get cheeky with him too. He only objectifies you when you want to lol.

He’s still Bo though, often he’ll tease you about the fact that you dressed up for him. It doesn’t matter if that’s the truth or not, it’s what he chooses to believe.

You can tell when he especially likes your outfit, because the use of pet names increases significantly.

Uses the term ‘dolled up’ probably a bit too much, but when he murmurs it into your ear as he leans over you back, you can’t seem to mind it…

Probably won’t let you style him or take fashion advice because he’s really stubborn, but he might let you do it on special occasions.

If you compliment him enough when you do that, you might just gas him up enough into letting you do it more often.

Vincent Sinclair (House of Wax)

It’s probably when the first things he notices about you, he’s been keeping an eye out on your looks for a while now.

Any of your more detailed outfits activate the artist part of his brain, often he’ll want to sketch what you’re wearing for ‘future reference’ for art, but maybe he just wants to draw how nice you look.

If you regularly take photos of your outfits, Vincent might come to you just to look through them for inspiration.

Would be so glad if you gave him tips on fashion in his art or helped him style some of the figures etc. Bonus points if you also have historical fashion knowledge.

Just you being around him serves as a motivator for him to try and get more clothing he likes and not just stuff that’s comfortable. If you were to talk to him about it and then go out to get some stuff for him he’d be so grateful. Plus if you picked it, it means he likes it ten times more.

Would let you style him and be so emotional over it. He’d be touchy and affectionate the whole time, making the whole process much longer due to soft kisses and gentle caresses.

So protective over his S/O’s way of expression, if either of his brothers makes any not-fully-positive comment about it, he’ll let them know quickly it’s not a good idea.

Lester Sinclair (House of Wax)

Thinks it’s fucking buckwild that you’d dress up around him when you’re not even going out to do anything interesting.

Compliments your outfit everyday and tells you that you look stunning. He’s capable of complimenting your pyjamas when you get out of bed, but that doesn’t make his compliments any less genuine.

Honestly please give this man some dressing tips, he’ll take them to heart and try his best to follow them. He’s in over his head, but he has the spirit.

Shockingly enough it doesn’t take much time for him to get weirdly good at dressing himself. He’d have that effortless country man look, but the kind that makes you double take and go ‘Wait…’. Even if there’s some blood on it anyway.

You both make it a habit to compliment each other’s outfits.

Brahms Heelshire (The Boy)

Knowing stuff about fashion comes with being posh.

Unlike other slashers, he’d have no issue asking you about it as soon as there’s some level of trust between you.

Asks a lot of questions because he’s genuinely curious. It might be annoying or tone-deaf at some points, but he means no harm, he just struggles with knowing people’s boundaries.

He thinks the history behind fashion movements and styles is really interesting and will make you tell him about it and if you don’t know, you’ll research it together. It’s actually a really nice bonding activity for you, with both of you focusing on the same thing and discussing it. He’d be interested in learning about fashion history too.

You end up spending a lot of time watching videos about recreating historically accurate fashion.

With Brahms’ sewing and overall crafting skill, he’d convince you to make something together. Either modern or historical. You end up having a lot of fun, a nice looking garment and minimal injuries. It becomes a habit to make things together.

He still doesn’t think that much about what he wears, because he’s just inside the mansion anyway, but likes when you want to style him, because it means your attention will be on him and he likes the pampering. Plus he gets to spend time with you…

Pyramid Head (Silent Hill, Dead by Daylight)

Has zero concept of fashion and won’t understand fashion. You can try to explain and he’ll listen, but it won’t change much.

Gives you a thumbs up if you show off your outfit.

Mostly impressed you’re keeping it up in the conditions of Silent Hill (or Dead by Daylight).

Would try not to get blood on you. He’s so romantic!

Of course I can heart anon. So I was goth for about a year before I just kind of wasn't interested in it anymore and I've had my fair share of out there looks. I've dyed my hair every color under the rainbow, I've drawn on horrible big eyeliner, etc. But I still hold an interest in goth looks, music, etc.

Now Michael first started stalking you because of how out there you looked. He was so curious about your big hair and huge eyeliner.

He'd watch you very often, learning that this is just how you are and not actually a costume. This just drew him in even more.

Now as for when you start dating Michael will be a little jealous because of all the attention you're getting from strangers. He doesn't care how you dress it's the fact that other people feel the need to comment on it and constantly look at you that bothers him.

He's not too confused about why a man is wearing makeup because he doesn't fully understand gender norms but he still wonders why you do it.

I know goth music is a wide set of genres but I feel like he'd like the slow and dark music. He honestly might put on a few of your records if you're out and he's at home.

Overall Michael doesn't care so much how you dress but it is something he likes and thinks you should keep doing.

Thomas Hewitt

I wouldn't say he's scared the first time he sees you but he is kinda freaked out. Thomas is a sheltered Christian man so seeing someone like you is freaky for him. Although if he sees you wearing rosary's he's feeling a little better.

After getting to actually know you he sees that you're not that scary and that he doesn't really mind how you look. Although his family will give you odd looks and rude comments about how men shouldn't wear makeup.

As for the music Thomas is a little sacred. I know that everyone thinks he would listen to metal but if we're being honest he was raised on country music and gospel music. He doesn't mind your music it's just new and a little scary.

He'll also worry about you getting hot in all black clothing. He'll try to get you to wear lighter colors but will give up when he realizes that it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Jason Voorhees

Pamela warned him about people like you. Goth's, who according to her are all depressed and cut themselves. But upon meeting you Jason learns that's not true. You're actually pretty happy and you just enjoy dark music and clothes.

He'll watch every morning that you put on makeup. He loves seeing your process as you create thin sharp eyebrows and big black eyeliner. A little confused about why a man is wearing makeup but he honestly doesn't care too much about it

He doesn't mind the music. I feel like Jason never really listens to music anyway so this isn't too big of a deal for him

He's also glad that you don't really mind being around death. Obviously he's going to keep you away from the people he kills but it at least means that you're not going to hate him for it.

He's a little freaked out by the music. No one he's come across has had this kind of music before so it's new to him. Start off slow with The cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Vincent Sinclair

Out of all of the Sinclair brothers he's the most supportive. His mother would have hated you and he loves that. Especially if you have dyed hair, piercing and or tattoos.

Speaking of dyed hair, if you have it he's obsessed with it. He'll convince Bo to go buy you more when your roots grow out and he'll help you with dying it.

He loves goth music. He loves the instrumental elements and how dramatic it sounds. I have a feeling if you gave him pictures of what some goth musicans look like he'll make some of the wax figures look like them.

He'll steal clothes from victims if he thinks you'll like the clothes and probably makes some accesories for you. He'll kinda treat you like a goth barbie doll with how he want's to constantly dress you up and do your makeup.

If his brothers ever make any kind of rude comments he's quick to shut them down. He loves you so much and he won't let Bo give you shit for wearing makeup.

Bo Sinclair

I'm not gonna lie, he's gonna think it's a sex thing. You quickly shut that down and he realizes you just genuinly like the style and music. But he also never even knew about the music element.

But like Vincent he thinks his mother would hate you and he loves that. Probably one of the reasons he keeps you alive.

He'll think you're a little gay for wearing makeup but point out how he is literally dating a man and he'll quiet down really quick.

Doesn't mind the music and will probably start listening to some of the bands you listen to as well.

He doesn't get the fashion and thinks it's just for attention but over time he won't care as much and understand it's more about self expression.

While he does (lovingly) make fun of you for being goth. If anyone else does it, especially a victim he's not having mercy on them. Sure he thinks you look ridiculous sometimes but only he can say that.

If you have piercings and tattoos he will encourage you to get more. Maybe will drop the idea of getting his named tattooed but if you don't want it then he won't force it.

Lester Sinclair

You scare him a little. But after talking for a little bit and seeing how sweet you actually are, he falls for you very hard.

Again, like his brothers he loves you even more because his mother would hate you.

Thinks your music is scary but he won't tell you that.

Loves watching you get ready and how you turn from some normal dude into a super hot vampire.

He loves to play with your hair if it's big and teased up. He knows it's crunchy form hairspray but please let him touch it Y/n.

Will gift you things made of bones and animal skins that he thinks look gothic. He's glad to have an s/o who's so into death. It makes it easy for him to talk to you about his job.

Will defend you against his brothers. Lester won't put up with Bo calling you freaky or asking if you cut yourself. Honestly I can see him getting physical with Bo if it gets to that point of him being an asshole.

a03 is down, why not spend this time explaining my Feelings about Teen Wolf characters in a different format. <3

This is basically a love letter to all my favorite characters. Which is uh, well you'll see. 🥰🥰

So many thoughts behind the cut!

Category One: VERY FAVORITE

It's what it says on the tin. My very favorite characters. Spoiler alert: I am Bad At Favorites.

Lydia Martin I fell in love with her the instant she was good at bowling. Perfect even. And then the "sucking for his pleasure line," and then, and THEN we get her arc in s2? She's alone, and a little brittle and I have so many theories I've rambled about a million times regarding her childhood and how her powers have manifested before. I could write an entire tumblr post just about Lydia and my thoughts. I love her so much.

Malia Tate

I knew I was going to ADORE her the instant she punched Stiles for turning her back to human. I'm only sad we didn't get to see her initial reunion with Scott. I do firmly believe she throws Scott around in bed while they're together. I love how "yeah i don't really care about your social norms" she is about everything. And how she learns!! And then how much she loves Kylie. She leaves the safety of her den to get Kylie's doll back!!! I love her.

Scott McCall

I liked him at first. I definitely enjoyed seeing him hurt. I always gravitate to the prettiest men with blood on their face in any given fandom. And in Teen Wolf, that is definitely Scott. And then by about my third rewatch I was even more in love with his character, his willpower, persistence, stubbornness, empathy, and leadership. Many of you know Fury is my favorite episode and I love Scott in it so much. I love him.

Mason Hewitt

I was in love with Mason IMMEDIATELY. He was just so clearly such a good friend to Liam. And his smile. And then he helps Scott at the bonfire with no questions asked. And then he helps Lydia. That boy with ZERO spn powers helps Lydia charge berserkers. And then he is so excited for Liam to be a werewolf. And in the inner circle. And then he's the Beast! And he's with Corey! And he helps in s6. I love Mason. Love, love, love. <3

Kira Yukimura

Literal ray of sunshine. Awkward, nerdy, new girl! bad ass, katana-wielding kitsune. I was in love with her from the first interaction with her dad. And then she has fun with Scott at the sheriff's station! And then she learns what Scott is and is the first person to be tender and gentle about it? Ahhh. And then she has angst and the way were *robbed* of a s6 Kira arc. Still mad. Forever mad. But I ADORE Kira so much. She's amazing and I love her.

Vernon Boyd

Loved him when he wouldn't let Stiles pull one over on him with the money. Loved him when he wanted to be like Scott. Loved him when cared sooo much about Erica. Love the angst with Alicia and hate how little we get. He went and worked at an ice rink!!! I just. He's caring and kind and compassionate and observant and quiet and I love him for it.

Melissa McCall

!! The way she is trying so hard. And the way the world is just conspiring against her. She clearly loves Scott so much. I loved their s1 and s2 scenes sooo much. I really wish we'd gotten more of those little intimate mother/son moments later in the series. But I also love how she's still human. Is just trying her best. She's amazing.

Satomi Ito

I love her. She's a badass. And friends with Deaton. And I love how she interacts with Noshiko. And she has so much anger but she does eventually learn one way of expressing it. And Iove that she cares so much for her pack. Love love love love so much love. I watch all of like four Satomi parts soo closely every time.

Ken Yukimura

"Here's all that research you did for that boy you like." What is not to love, though? He's a history nerd! Married to a 900-year-old kitsune! And he loves his daughter so much. He's a good cook! He's so cool. Maybe Ken is what I want to be when I grow up. Even if I am technically older.

Alan Deaton

!! He's so great. While I can see an argument for him withholding information in the first two seasons- I feel like it makes total sense why he does. For so long, this supernatural part of his life has been on the back burner. Since the Hale fire, which he couldn't stop, and then suddenly it's back.

And by s2 he's actively helping Scott figure things out. He's teaching him and Isaac to take pain. Something it never dawned on Peter or Derek they'd like to know. In s3 he saves Stiles, in s6 he faces the fear of the anuk-ite with more grace than anyone. I love. Love always.

Noshiko Yukimura

I adore her so much. I loved younger Noshiko and I love how she's clearly matured since those events. She's also sooo hot. And so badass. And has STELLAR taste in men. So much love for Noshiko forever. <3

Braeden

She shows up on a motorcycle, rescues Isaac, almost dies, FACES DOWN A PACK OF ALPHAS and survives it! And all while looking So Good. I love how she deals with Scott and Derek. I love that she worked for Deucalion after he slashed her throat open.

(quick note if you are tired of me talking about how much i love these characters, this is not the post for you, it doesn't change much)

Erica Reyes

Complete stubborn af BADASS of my dreams. I loved her when she was epileptic and still trying to climb up that rope. I loved her when she showed up and slammed Scott into a locker. I adored her when she hit on Allison. I love how she was so fierce and protective of Boyd and how she terrified Derek. I love her.

Hayden Romero

The way she looks at Liam in her intro. She is going to *destroy* this boy, that she has a crush on, so hard. She's also stubborn and strong-willed, and responsible. She's working so hard to help her sister, who she loves with her entire heart. She's great, and I love her.

Danny Mahealani

Everyone loves Danny! As they should. <3 He has terrible taste in men (relatable tho), and he loves to look disrespectfully (also relatable). I love his interaction with Stiles and Derek in s1 as well as his friendship with Jackson. I love that he's the one doing research on the ley lines! I hate how he disappears after 3b. I wanted more with knowledgable about supernatural Danny.

Meredith Walker

Meredith can leave Eichen any time she wants. She does. She generally stays there: to protect everyone else from herself. Meredith is what Lydia looks like when we don't see her perspective and I think about that soo much. I also love her and Lydia's interaction: "Not all monsters do monstrous things." My heart.

Category Two: VERY FAVORITE ALSO but fandom tries to ruin them for me

I love these characters so much, but the way fandom tries to make them into shells of their actual selves. Or just make everything about them always. There are so many great characters in this fandom!! It's an ensemble show with fantastic characters and actors!! So to be clear: I love the canon versions of these characters.

Stiles Stilinski

-would fall directly under Kira in favorites category.

I fucking love this dude. He's sarcastic and rough around the edges, and awkward. His fingers are impossibly long. He's just the right side of morally gray. And terrified he's going to fall too far the other direction. He's a little broken inside from the way his mother died and is codependent with Scott. Love love love him.

Peter Hale

-Would fall right after Araya in the villain category

I love him. He is ruthless. Selfish. Tits out. He's funny. I love how he's so obsessed with Scott. He spends a whole season working with Kate because of it. Kate who he kills in s1. Iconic villainy. Tbh, he's one of the villains I wish they'd leaned away from the redemption arc on. But I still like his commitment to family (in his mind). And the bravery it takes to step through that fire in s6 knowing exactly how it feels is damn impressive.

Derek Hale

-would fall after Isaac in love them so much category

He's super hot. Like all kinds of hot. Broody. He's such a mess that first season especially. His entire family was lost, he's been gone six years. He comes back and his sister dies first thing. Why he's a broody mess makes sense. And then, for a change, he can save his family! He saves Cora. It sucks to be at the expense of Erica and Boyd. But I feel like he makes his peace with things as best he can.

Young Derek Hale

Is just Derek only younger, really usnure why they are separate tbh.

Chris Argent

-would fall after Derek in love them so much category

Of all the villains, he has the most convincing redemption arc. Possibly because he's just around more on-screen tbh. And he loses so much. By the end of the series Chris has lost everything. And he's such a mess about it. Also he's so stupidly hot.

Noah Stilinski

-would fall after Melissa in favorites category

I love him. He's another single parent trying his best. He clearly cares deeply about Stiles, even though he's often out of his depth. I love the bit where he's watching the kids just run Rafael in circles in 3b. The look on his face is so clearly: "it's about time you had to deal with their nonsense."

Jackson Whittemore

-would fall after Chris in love them so much category

He's such an asshole, and I adore him for it. He's so mean. He's terrible for Lydia (and her for him) but I love that they end up friends. I love Jackson's relationship with Allison especially, and it haunts me who had to call him and explain what happened to her. I love his s2 arc because a "be careful what you wish for" arc always gets me.

Claudia Stilinski

-would be first in neutral category

Only because we just know so little about her. I enjoy my fanon interpretations, but that's all they are.

Very Favorite Villain Edition

Quite likely to be a controversial category. And my absolute favorite. I love OTT villains and does Teen Wolf provide me so well <3

Deucalion

I mean. If you're here. Chances are really high you have some idea how I feel about everyone's favorite British Drama Queen of a Demon Wolf. He calls himself Destroyer of Worlds. Alpha of Alphas. He's a hot fucking mess too. His corruption arc implies less megalomania, and yet.... and his redemption arc is... shaky, but I'm into that. He's not all that redeemed, and the look of pure glee on his face when he's about to beat Scott in 6b supports that. I love how obsessed he is with Scott, too. It's this delusional obsession and gyahh, I am here for it. He does help Scott in 5b, but I contend he did it for a price. <3

Kate

I stan a hot, evil woman always. You will uh, see that theme repeated on this list. And she's pretty unapologetically evil. Though you have to wonder ofc, how much Gerard shaped that. And she does have that little redemption saving Allison in s1. And really does clearly care for her. She's fun! And hot! And creepy and I am here for it.

Violet

Speaking of really hot, evil women. Hello! And she's reckless too? My heart can't even take that kind of thing. And she strangles Scott. The fact that we never got nagaul! Violet is criminal. To me. Personally.

Araya Calavera

Evil Mexican grandma shoots a person. In the street. In broad daylight. If that isn't badass af, I don't know what is. I also really love her interactions with Chris. She's fabulous.

Tamora Monroe

Once again pointing out the hot, evil woman theme. Though I think she's more nuanced than some of the others. She's one of the villains who deserved a redemption arc the most. She's also such a good leader and organizer. She's a good counselor and listener. Love her.

Jennifer Blake

Hot. Evil. Women. It's a whole thing okay. And while I will admit to being one HELL of a Deucalion stan, Jennifer deserved the redemption arc so much more. Her reasons for evil are far more valid. She wants to destroy the people who destroyed her and who wreak devastation in their wake. And get revenge on her ex. Valid of her.

Kali

Speaking of said ex. And hot. And evil. I wish we'd gotten more Kali. I think she feels more remorse than she wants to admit. I love, love, love the way she interacts with Deucalion. I accept "Deuc" from her only. And probably him too.

Ennis

He isn't on here, I'm more neutral on him. But because we get next to nothing about him. Very sad. I bet he's fun. Kali joins the alpha pack for him. Gotta be a reason.

Victoria Argent

Are you prepared to hear me go on about hot, evil women again? AND she bakes cookies. I love when she calls Stiles "the odd one". And she so clearly cares about Chris and Allison. It's utterly devastating when Allison blows her off right before her death. Love.

Void/The Nogitsune

He's just hungry. I love the potential of the nogitsune. And the angst it brings to Noshiko and Stiles especially. I am v excited to see where the movie takes this. But really, he's just hungry. That's not evil. As a favorite bounty hunter once said: "A girl's gotta eat."

Corinne

I think half the reason I fell in love with the show was all the hot, evil women. Jeff may be a gay man but he and I clearly have the same taste in women. I wish we knew more about Corinne to be honest, but I love her relationship with Braeden and am forever wondering about her relationships with Talia and Peter.

Matt Daehler

If he were a woman, he'd be higher. As it is, he's a creepy stalker dude and a lot of fun. I like when he shoots Scott, uh, a lot. I think there is definitely so much more room for exploring his relationship with Jackson. And he was a kid. That deserved redemption every bit as much as anyone else. Maybe more. He was a kid. His death is tragic af.

Gerard Argent

Evil manipulative cockroach. He's fun and serves his purpose.

Category Four: LOVE THEM SO MUCH

Allison Argent

She's so great! I love her dark arc. I love her struggle to figure out who she is and her friendships with Lydia and Scott and Isaac and Stiles. I love how she tried so many hobbies and her conflict with her family, internal and external. I hate/love her death. I love her.

Isaac Lahey

He's so tall. And sarcastic. And he's not witty, and he's just a little mean. I love how he still wants to trust people, even after everything he goes through with his dad and then Derek. I love his relationships with Allison, Scott and Chris and Erica and Boyd. A lot like Chris, Isaac loses soo much.

Marin Morell

She's so interesting! I want to know about her life pre-canon so BAD. I feel like it's implied that she's Deucalion's emissary pre-corruption. Why does she stay? How does she feel about it? Why was she with him in the first place? How have her hands gotten dirty before? I have so many questions and theories, but I'd love to know more.

Cora Hale

!! She's a badass. She's basically girl-Derek, so what's not to love there? Broody, broken, angry. I love her back and forth with Lydia and Stiles so much.

Coach Bobby Finstock

What's not to love? This man is the living incarnation of Hot Chaotic Mess and I know I'm always in for a good time.

Mrs. Finch

What is her first name? I love her though her storyline vexes me. I know that it's probably just retconning, but the way I like to consider explanations for *why* she's head in the sand about being an alpha werewolf. Oh! I wonder if I will see parallels to that attitude in movie!Scott. Ohh. I'm gonna have Feelings. I love that she believes in Scott in AP Bio, when even some of his friends do not. I think about her fear a lot when Liam is beaten in science class. She knows he'll heal, ofc, but I think about her a lot for a minor character.

Brett and Lori Talbot

Beloved Satomi pack frens. Brett is a tall drink of water and Mason has rights. Like man. That eight-pack. And Lori is a bad ass. And she tries to help Kira. I enjoy them a lot!

Sydney

She wants to do well on her test. She's sick and still needs to take it! She gives Scott the picture of him, Lydia, Stiles and Malia. My heartttt. She's great and I love her. I have a lot of thoughts about her being friends with Brett and Lori.

Jordan Parrish

He's a cinnamon roll but on fire. Instant love. Plus he's half-naked A LOT, and I'm not mad about it.

Natalie Martin

She's trying in her way. I really think in her mind, Natalie is doing whatever she needs to do to prevent Lydia from becoming Lorraine. She wants to do the right thing, but isn't so good at seeing what that is.

Tracy Stewart

She's a badass. Hot and almost evil. And she has a tail. Only wins here.

Aiden and Ethan Steiner

They're fun. I like Ethan slightly better. Aiden is a subby straight boy though, and that's hard not to love.

Valerie Clark

Hayden's hot, badass deputy sister. Love her. I head canon she comes back to Beacon Hills to be the sheriff. <3

Liam Dunbar

Cute angry little shrimp and Mason loves him, so I do. <3

Corey Bryant

Love him with Mason so much. Think about him and being invisible. I wish we got more with him but I enjoy what we have.

Talia Hale

Endlessly fascinating. Mostly questions. I love that she's a dramatic! Bitch. Her intro is Superb. You can see the family resemblance. She's def Peter's sister.

Theo Raeken

I struggled with Theo. I love him as a villain and have begun to appreciate his more redeemed version. He's basically boy-Lydia, so of course, I adore him in that context. I just wasn't sure what category to put him in. So here he is. He's fun, and wow, is he just so compact. Talk about pleasing to look upon abs.

Category Five: neutral but i'm willing to be swayed to loving them more

Week 10: Nice try, SHREK!

SHREK, the main character in the Shrek franchise by DreamWorks Animation. He is known for being green, grumpy on the outside, but ultimately a good guy. And, he is an ogre. And, this week topic is not about Shrek, but it is about YOU UGLY (just kidding, please don't take this seriously). However, imagine this: you finally post that selfie you spent an hour perfecting, only to be greeted by a chorus of "nice try, Shrek!" in the comments. Welcome to the wonderful world of online harassment, folks! Where trolls roam wild, the manosphere spreads questionable advice like glitter, and misogyny lurks behind every keyboard warrior's mom's basement. What a nice world to live in!

Social media has become a breeding ground for hate speech targeting women, with research showing a significant rise in recent years (Hewitt et al., 2016; Poland, 2016, as cited in Miranda, 2023). This isn't just anecdotal – a 2017 Pew Research Center study in the U.S. found women are disproportionately affected by online harassment compared to men (Miranda, 2023). Online harassment against women isn't just rude comments. It's a relentless barrage of abuse, threats (including violence and sexual assault), and tactics like stealing identities, leaking personal information, and manipulating victims. Even worse, the harassment can spill over from the virtual world into real life (Engler, 2017, as cited in Miranda, 2023).

Within the manosphere, traditional gender norms are reinforced, perpetuating harmful stereotypes and demeaning attitudes towards women. This toxic environment breeds misogyny, as highlighted by Marwick and Caplan (2017). Misogyny, with its roots deeply embedded in the manosphere, manifest in various forms, including objectification, slut-shaming, and devaluation of women's voices. It is as if they are stuck in a time capsule, unable to embrace the winds of change blowing through our progressive society.

The keyword #misogyny has more than 245 thousand posts on Instagram, impressive!

Now, let's stir the pot a little with the art of trolling. Maloney (2019) introduces us to the fascinating world of gaming and its connection to online harassment. Trolls, those mischievous beings lurking in the shadows of the internet, derive pleasure from provoking others and instigating conflicts. They disrupt discussions, spread hate, and revel in the chaos they create. It's like a virtual game to them—a game that leaves emotional scars on their unsuspecting victims.

As I reflect on these findings, I can't help but ponder the impact of online harassment on our society. The label "snowflake generation" unfairly dismisses the very real struggles faced by those targeted by online harassment, particularly women and transgender individuals. The gender-related digital divide becomes apparent, as Haslop et al. (2021) assert. It's disheartening to see the normalization of online harassment, with victims often tolerating it rather than taking action.

In this whirlwind exploration of online harassment, we have unmasked the manosphere, confronted the specter of misogyny, and danced with the trolls. The digital landscape is both awe-inspiring and treacherous, with online harassment casting a dark shadow over the virtual realm. Online harassment is no laughing matter, but by shedding light on its complexities, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and respectful digital future.
