Today wasn't the best. You didn't really have much of a reason as to why that was, but it was a bad day nonetheless. The day was tainted from the beginning, you supposed. You sighed as you practically tossed your things into your bag, ready to go home and crash-

Well, then again... If you go back to the HoL one of the brothers are sure to come and harass you or disturb your much needed rest. Maybe you could just stay at RAD and nap in the library? No.. Satan is sure to be there among plenty of lesser demons that might try to eat you or something. Staying at RAD is a bust... so..

"MC!" Exclaimed an unmistakable voice that surely belonged to your favorite little angel. Luke ran towards you waving before hugging you tight, almost knocking you down.

"Hey, Luke." You greeted him, already feeling a bit better from the hug.

"Wanna come to Purgatory Hall with me? I'm going to make cookies and I want you to try them when they're done!" He smiled widely. Perfect! Purgatory Hall is sure to be quiet, and no one will bother you there! (Unlike the brothers, the angels are considerate of humans)

"Sure, I'd love that." You replied, with the first semi-genuine smile of the whole day adorning your face.

You watched as the young angel's face practically lit up with excitement at your answer "Good, come on!" He grabbed your hand and dragged you along, almost ripping your arm in two in the process.

You soon arrived at Purgatory Hall (after sprinting the whole way there). He opened the door and let go of your hand, letting you catch your breath before happily skipping over to the kitchen to start baking the cookies.

You smelled the lingering scent of baked goods and let the warmth of Purgatory Hall consume you. You made your way over to the couch in the common room and set your stuff down and listened to the soft sound of a baking show Luke was watching in the other room as you drifted off to sleep.

You opened your eyes groggily a while later to realize your head was on... Someone's lap? You turned your head slightly to investigate and was met with your favorite (adult) angel's warm smile. You could feel your face heating up a little at the sight. "H-Hi," you stammered out.

"Hi." Said the angel almost in a whisper, "If I had known you were coming I would've greeted you sooner."

"Sorry," You apologized, only half serious, before the smell of freshly baked cookies assaulted your senses.

"They're done!" Luke smiled brightly after seemingly appearing out of thin air, carrying a tray of steaming hot cookies.

"Those are-"

"Chocolate chip. Barbatos had the ingredients imported so Luke could make them for you," Simeon assured you. You felt your face flush again at his voice, realizing how close you were to him.

"Try some," Luke encouraged you. They were amazing, just as you had expected. They were warm and chewy-but not too much.. Like the melt in your mouth kind of chewy. The chocolate was still gooey too. You felt like you had died and gone to the Celestial Realm.

With his baking abilities it was hard to believe he was really 10 years old, though you guessed it did make sense considering that he was being taught by the best pastry chef in all three realms.

"Oh, I almost forgot!" And with that, the little angel disappeared as quickly as he had appeared to grab something he had left behind. Leaving you with Simeon (who's lap you were still laying on by the way)

You looked up at the angelic figure who was eating one of the cookies Luke had given him. It was almost like he radiated light and goodness.. Which you supposed made sense considering he was an angel. You carefully studied his face, taking in his deep complexion.

"W-Why are you staring at me?" He stuttered nervously, a light blush dusting his soft taupe skin.

You were a bit shocked by his question, not realizing you were staring. "You're pretty..." You replied bashfully, staring deep into his aquamarine eyes. You watched as his eyes widened, the blush that was previously there noticeably deepening.

"You shouldn't say such things... You may make me do something I'll regret."

Well, I’m not trying to be rude, sugarbun…but maybe if you don’t like how others are writing you could write it yourself? Now, I do write for gn and female reader (not male, unfortunately), but I would appreciate some helpful (and kind) tips that you could offer!

But, when I do write for gn reader, I do try my best to keep it as limited as possible as to not include any specific descriptions of any body parts that may belong/hint to a certain gender.

Could you please explain why people are so opposed to the pension reform? I'm trying to understand, but living in a country where you can retire at 67 but keep working until 70 if you wish, and everyone is fine with that, I feel I must have missed something.

It's really not on you, but your Ask did depress me a tad. It aligned with many comments I've spotted across the media coverage of the current French crisis in foreign countries, and most public reactions to it. The worst ones are definitely racist, along the lines of mocking them French that never want to work, but I know the most benign to be genuine: how come the French get to retire so early in life still, and why are they protesting an apparently necessary, surely inevitable, evidently inexorable raise of the legal age for a full pension, when everybody else must retire later in life, which they deem to be entirely natural and normal?

I was about to ask you how did you think the French got to retire as early as 55–60 years of age not that long ago (62 today) if not because of their infamous propensity to go on strike and protest a lot in the first place—in truth I was debating with myself on the tone I should adopt to say it—when it struck me suddenly: the crucial part of your comment was not the age for legal retirement in your country... Rather, it was whether or not the people in your country really happen to be ‘fine with that’.

In late January, the man who modified the Swedish pension system twenty years ago, raising the retirement age to 65, was interviewed by French news outlet. Karl Gustaf-Scherman, who used to administer the Swedish social securty, had a recommendation for President Macron: ‘Don't you imitate us and apply our model.’ In reality, most Swedish people can't physically afford to wait till 65 to retire, and have to leave their careers without a full pension: according to a 2019 study ordered by the national retirement fund, 92% of female and 72% of male retirees saw their pensions diminish (and, consequently, their purchasing power) after Sweden opted for this new pension system based on capitalisation and an increase of the retirement age. ‘Mr. President, the only reform you should pass would be a reform à la française’, Gustaf-Scherman concluded.

Again: are you completely certain that in your country, everyone is fine with working till 67, even 70 years of age? How many factory workers do you know, in your entourage, people who spend all day on an assembly line? How many sewage workers do you know? How many nurses and orderlies still lifting patients at 65, how many masons and tilers dreaming of working past their 70th birthday? Do you think it fair to ask a person to retire five years after everyone else because they've known several periods of unemployment in their career, because of some economic recession or because they've had to give birth to the next generation of humans? Do you find it fine to die before you've reached the legal age of retirement with a full pension, never getting to spend quality time with your grandchildren or your friends or helping out at local associations?

Do you find it normal never to get a rest from work before you die?

It's not only that everyone ought to be allowed some respite after serving their country well by participating in producing the national wealth for forty odd years; it is also that all those neoliberal reforms aim to destroy the remnants of old socialised systems across Europe to replace them with a fully capitalised economy. In other words, the point is for the tenants of a globalised market economy to take control of the gross domestic products of each country, open them to speculative funds and get to play with all that wealth—with the systematic privatisation of national markets allowing for unlimited concurrence and speculation.

France's pension system is still partly based on non-wage labour costs that have allowed its nationalised portion to remain afloat and stable since the creation of the Social Security in 1946. Back then, la Sécurité sociale was actually intended to cover all risks of life, but even then the class war was raging on. The entire history of the Social Security centres on the boss class' attempt to snatch the fund's control from the hands of the workers themselves. The move has definitely accelerated within the last four decades (the Eighties have seen the rise of Neoliberalism, as per the Chicago School's teachings, for further illustration, look up Augusto Pinochet's Chile), somewhat exponentially since 2016's Labour Law, implemented when Emmanuel Macron was a youthful minister of Economy who really began tearing the country apart proper, notably to finance his upcoming presidential campaign. The merciless destruction of our once-protective Labour code truly was the point of entry of his Thatchering enterprise...

I reckon no president of the Republic has been as universally detested as most of the French people have come to loathe Emmanuel Macron. The basis of his electorate is a contingent of very wealthy people, most of whom elderly, who share economic interests in the destruction of national sovereignty in favour of privatisation, since they've got, precisely, shares in the big companies that are to profit from the change; and people who simply don't care about the future generations of pensioners.

Trouble is, if Macron got re-elected a year ago, it was only because votes were extremely divided between many parties and because of a successful campaign to hold far-right candidate Marine Le Pen as a compliant scarecrow , presented in all media as the only one opposition to Macron—which meant that all people had to do to oppose Macron would be to vote for her, as it was sure to scandalise the rich and the Woke... Then, all Macron would have to do, which he did, was to present himself as the only one true credible defence in front of the Fascist Menace. The recipe, which was actually brought to perfection in the early 1980s by to-be-president François Mitterrand (using Marine Le Pen's more sinister father, and founder of the National Front, Jean-Marie Le Pen), is well and truly tried. Still, one of these days, she's going to get to presidency, and Macron will have been her best supporter.

ray is clumsy with love. he’s pretty much the embodiment of that quote that’s like “i’m not used to being loved. i wouldn’t know what to do.” like he’s putting his best foot forward and by god he’s trying but he’s not good at it. his timing is off, he stumbles over words, he does the wrong thing, his touch is too rough. ray loves so much but he doesn’t know how because his mom never hugged him and his dad was barely there. his whole life he’s been the burden, the reason his mom couldn’t continue her career, so no one ever loved him and he never learned how to love. it’s like he’s stumbling in the dark so when he hurts sand and sand won’t talk to him the best he can do is reach out and wish him a happy birthday and hope that does something.

not sure if you've talked about this before, but where do the dragons stay during the night/sleep? do they explore the village on their own? do they let their riders put some type of ornament on them? i just find the worldbuilding part so interesting <3

i actually have not talked about this before! honestly it varies from person to person, and is largely dependent on what type of dragon.

for example, people who have smaller dragons, especially dragons who can't fly, just keep their dragons in the house and let them sleep in front of the fireplace or in bed with them like a cat or a dog. larger dragons that can't fly can stay in stable-like structures around the settlement. dragons that can fly, particularly if they're larger than a house cat or a medium-size dog, sleep outside of the household. some of them sleep in trees, some sleep out in the open, but a lot of them like to sleep on rooftops, generally the rooftops of their rider's home.

more well to do families have private housing for their dragons; the gojo clan has a large, elaborate stable for flightless dragons and nesting mothers, and a tree house-like structure for for dragons that can fly. the inumaki family has a personal stable with ground floor for flightless dragons and an open upper level for dragons that can fly.

Okay, so in my opinion Fem y/n is so annoying because I'll be searching for something that has nothing to do with fem y/n and all I get is fem y/n and it really ticks me off. And the fact that fem y/n is always this defenseless and vulnerable girl is so annoying. There's hardly any gn or male reader fanfics of my favorite characters.. There's always ones with fem y/n. And the fanfics.. I swear, it's always incest with fem y/n or there's this huge age gap. It's like fem y/n is the only thing people can write, and I even read a gn fanfic where it wasn't even gn.. The characters were calling the reader princess and the reader was afab.. And at that point it's just fem y/n. And I'm sorry but the way people write fem y/n is just.. Ew. Like no, she's not a 4'5 girl who's weak and needs a big strong man to save her.. And she isn't white with long blonde hair. It's just so annoying.

You could always write your own fics! You’re not limited to what is already out and published.

And, at least from my experience, I’ve seen a good amount of fem y/n that’s not necessarily the “damsel in distress” as you described. And even though male reader is not that common, it wouldn’t hurt to look a little more and delve a little deeper!

And it’s not like writers can only solely write for female readers. I’ve seen a few good authors that write male and gender neutral/nonbinary readers phenomenally! Some people just prefer to write for a certain gender maybe because they’re more familiar with it.

For example, I myself am a female/AFAB, and the main reason that I don’t write male reader is so I don’t accidentally get something about the anatomy or something else wrong! And also I’d want to provide good representation, but I’m more comfortable with writing for my own gender, because it’s what I’m used to.

Call me “selfish/self centered” or a “misandrist” all you want.

And it’s not like I don’t want to write for a male reader, it’s something that I do aspire to be able to do someday, but just not right now. I’d need to do a little research.
