BIRTHDAY CAKE: what's your favourite cake flavor? does your f/o get you that kind of cake or do they surprise you?

EFFIE GETS THE FRUITS AND FLORALS CAKE BEAM!!!! god forbid we know what spices and herbs exist in ivalice (maybe somewhere in the other ivalice games there lies an answer) but for now I'm gonna say that they like vanilla based cake with a small layer of berries in the middle, but they may also like a lavender or rose cake :>

upon second thought, there's a very small chance that effie would like tiramisu, but I think I'll go with my gut on the first option

either way, drace goes out of her way to drop hints about her sibling's birthday to vayne and he knows that effie has never liked large celebrations, so he has a very small, personal-sized cake baked by the imperial kitchen, but effie wakes up in a terrible mood and can't bring themself to eat any of it, and when they have lessons with larsa later they offer to split it with him

no cake sharing with gabranth, i think he would have one taste of the cake and go PBBTH from the shock of flowers in his fuckin mouth (if it were tiramisu he might partake in it)

drace wouldn't be able to get them a gift beforehand, but they do ask to go to the shops with effie and buy them whatever they want, it's a little shopping spree for the siblings :D it's the same for drace's birthday

vayne buys effie a gift every year for their birthday and it is ALMOST ALWAYS supplies (notebooks, pens, bags, etc) because he doesn't actually know what they like anymore. drace has told him to try flowers and he vehemently denies it because he still thinks his feelings are a secret. effie draws things for most people's birthdays, and vayne has a drawer full of all of the drawings they've done for him but he would deny it

larsa gives them flowers from the garden every birthday!! it has become a small tradition the past few years where he'll choose specific flowers for their meanings and surprise them with them. they gift larsa books for his birthday because he loves reading!!

gabranth is....well....he's kind of on the same level as vayne, where he doesn't know what effie would want, but he has been anonymously leaving them flowers for the past few years after noticing it's what larsa does. unknown to effie, they do the same, following flower meanings as well. when they eventually become closer, gabranth signs notes with his flowers and the bouquets get larger each time he drops them off

SURPRISE!: does your f/o throw a surprise party for you?:

ABSOLUTELY NOT. vayne tried once and effie wound up having a panic attack for the rest of the night. no surprise parties for the anxious tutor.
