Thinkin’ ‘bout making an EP of just the songs from books that I imagine the notes and tunes for, tbh.....
Found this childhood book of mine for $1 outside a bookstore the other day. It’s “The Search for Delicious”, by Natalie Babbitt. I am re-reading the part where Gaylen runs into the minstrel in the woods who tells the tale of Ardis, the mermaid. 
I was always into the written-out songs in books, because they read like poems, but can have any tune imagined for them.
Anyway, please enjoy The Tale of Ardis! Since this song is sung in the woods, I’ve done the same to record it. (The last lines are of my own writing, since the minstrel says that there were once more words to the song, but they’ve been missing for hundreds of years.)
