My Hometown is Nagoya...私の出身地は名古屋...🗾🍵🥷🏽
Cherry blossom season in Japan is expected to start next week. I miss my hometown… 日本の桜の開花は来週からとのことですが、私は故郷が恋しい…。 I was born and raised in Nagoya. Do you know anything about Nagoya? Or have you ever been to Nagoya? 私は、名古屋生まれ育ちです。みなさんは、名古屋について何か知っていますか?もしくは、今まで名古屋に行ったことがありますか? I think most foreign people don’t know about Nagoya. The city is industrial and not popular as a tourist destination.…

Hello! Can I request a fic where Niki gets air sick while on a plane going to Japan and y/n (his gf) & the boys take care of him💞
airsickness - nishimura riki
Tumblr media
pairing: gn! reader x bf! niki (ft. brother! jake)
genre: fluff
summary: niki gets air sick while on a plane going to Japan and y/n (his gf) & the boys take care of him
author’s notes: tw! being sick is mentioned once or twice!! thank you so much anon for this request!!
i loved this idea so much that i really wanted to take my time writing and perfecting it, the boys aren’t in this too much until the end but we do have a few of them caring for Niki in their own little ways without it being to awkward for Niki.
Tumblr media
It was finally time for the boys to head to Aichi for their Japan leg of the Manifesto World Tour. Furthermore, with it being Jake’s birthday whilst they were out the country, the company had allowed for you to join them for this part of the tour (the boys, mainly niki and jake had begged them to allow you to come with).
Niki was so excited by the fact that he could now show you why he loved his home country so much, and that you could finally meet his family, especially his sisters, who you had spoken to together many times over video call.
In fact Niki was so excited that he hadn’t been able to sleep very well for the past few days, so when the plane finally began to take off, he began to feel a bit queasy, however after around half an hour of being airborne, the plane hit a rather large patch of turbulance.
All of a sudden, Niki’s queasy feeling multiplied, to the point where he actually felt like he was going to be sick. With Niki being sat in between you and Jungwon (a very bad idea on the managers behalf, as this was a trio destined for chaos), he leant his head towards your shoulder. Niki wasn’t always one for pda, unless he was tired or sick, therefore, this action immediately caught your attention.
When you looked at the boy who had his eyes closed, with slightly laboured breathing, and a rather ghostly looking face, you immediately recognised that he was suffering from symptoms of airsickness. Luckily, being sat in the aisle, you were able to catch the attention of an airhostess, and ask them for a sickbag, and a glass of water.
Having travelled with the boys before, you discovered that it was quite common for at least one of them to get travel sickness of some sort, so you made sure to pack some anti-sickness tablets in case any of them were to suffer on the plane or car journeys. Once the airhostess returned with the bag and drink, you gently shook Niki, in a way that wouldn’t make him feel worse, and passed him the glass and a tablet to take.
Jake, who was sat in the seat on the other side of the aisle to you, immediately caught on to what was happening and managed to inform one of the boys managers, but let them know that you were dealing with it and not to worry yet.
Similarly Jungwon had noticed what was happening, but to save Niki the inevitable embarassment the teenage boy would feel, he didn’t mention anything to Niki but he did make eye contact with you every so often, checking up on his younger brother every so often.
Around a half hour after taking the tablet, Niki was beginning to feel a lot better, he hadn’t been sick yet, which was something you, him, and Jungwon were all glad about. However, he did keep his head resting on your shoulder, with the comforting sensation of your hand playing with his hair and massaging his scalp, near enough in a way that was tempting him in to a deep slumber.
Finally, when the plane came to land at Nagoya Airport, Niki was feeling as right as rain agin. In fact he was feeling on top of the world, and his level of excitement was somehow even more than it had been before boarding the plane. However, the other boys had heard about Niki’s little rough patch on the plane, and all wanted to make sure he was okay. This meant that he was feeling a little bit embarrassed by them making him walk in the middle of all of them through the airport in case anything happened, but he was still ever so thankful that they cared for him.

i've always wanted to visit japan, so much so i'm learning just in case i ever do get the chance to go. . . i'm so happy for you!! please tell more about your adventures, if you're comfortable with it!! enjoy your trip and i'm so happy you get to go!! ^^
Aw thank you! Japan is also my dream destination so I was really excited to visit it. I hope you can go one day too.
Unfortunately (for me) I am not financially stable and I had never been abroad before, so this time I went on a guided tours with my family, which means everything was taken care of and I didn't have much to do but enjoying the scenery and taking photos like a typical ignorant tourist, so I don't think I can help you much ;_; but here's some places I like the most and some of my experiences
If you plan to go on a cherry blossom viewing tour, choose the south if you go on late March - early April and north if you go on April. Since the northern region is cooler the blossoms bloom later
3-star hotel in central area in big cities are really small. The hotel that we stayed in Osaka barely has a pathway lmao
You should definitely try staying at a ryokan. It feels so authentic for me and the staffs are all so friendly (our tour guide said the staffs in countryside are more hospitable than in cities)
This is the ryokan where i stayed
Tumblr media
I learned about the history of the place, ate the specialties of the place, and the scenery was beautiful. But my mom and some other people said they couldn't sleep the whole night because they feel something. I sleep like a rock btw.
If you like animal you should visit the nara park. The deers are tame unless it comes to food. This fucker ate the wrapper of my friend's gift.
Tumblr media
I visited Todai-ji, Kiyomizu-dera and Senso-ji. They are all very impressive and beautiful but there are a lot of people it's hard to take a good photo
Among the cities I visited (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo) I like Kyoto the most cause it's quiet and it still has many traditional houses. Also the rental kimono in this place look the most beautiful for me, you should rent one if you have the money and time (our tour guide didn't let us since it takes a while to wear a kimono properly)
The shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the hotel rooms come in big bottles so you don't have to bring your own
That's everything i guess. Sorry it's nothing much, I wish I can go on my own too 😔 wish you the best of luck!

I'm taking my second trip of the year next week. But because it's Golden Week and that means everyone else in this country will also be traveling, picking a destination was . . . challenging. It's one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.
So I'm going to Aomori and Hakodate. What am I going to do in Aomori and Hakodate for five days? I have absolutely no idea. I'll figure it out when I get there. But it's hitting up prefectures I've never been to before, and not costing a small fortune, and those are my only requirements for Japanese domestic travel.
Last year for Golden Week I went to Ise, in Mie, with a day in Nagoya solely so that I could check Aichi off my list. We'll see how Aomori and southern Hokkaido stack up.
ETA: What I have unintentionally done is leave Akita as the only prefecture in northern Japan that I will have never been to. I'm going to have to find some reason to go because this isn't going to work for me:

Travel advice for anyone planning a trip to Japan!
If you are looking to shop and treasure hunt, avoid the biggest cities at all costs - Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka - and put down any other smaller cities as your travel destination. As shopkeepers know foreign tourists are there to treasure hunt for anime/manga merch, retro video games, etc. they put a significant mark-up on their goods.
But almost any other city - Sendai, Nagoya, etc. - does not get the same huge influxes of foreign tourists to take advantage of. So they generally all have much lower standard pricing than the Big 3, pricing consistent with what is normal across the suburban and rural areas of the country. All while being big enough cities to have plenty of stock to treasure hunt through, and some basic English support.
There is almost no price gouging in Japan in every day shopping and used goods, but this is one of those rare exceptions.
The biggest used goods chains are Book-Off (and sister stores under the same company like Hard-Off, etc), and Mansaido. But just about any used shops will be full of amazing merch and goodies for collectors. Due to most Japanese housing being quite small with little storage and display space, used goods are cycled through used shops constantly.

A lot of self-indulgent transparents. The quality is bad. The canvas is small. There's not much I can do about that bc I don't know the art style that well. The ones for Devil Survivor aren't really sorted well due to the routes having so many overlapping characters.

A COLLECTION OF ALL GINXVERMOUTH OFFICIAL MOMENTS - PART 1
This post is about all GinxVermouth official moments and info ~
This guide was originally posted on IG and made in collaboration with my friend @/sapphirebartholy_art (IG). Until December 15, you could also find the updated version of this guide posted on my IG profile but now guides are not available anymore.
Therefore, I decided to post this here, so everyone can read it. This post will be updated when new info will come out🍸
Tumblr media
Vol. 24, File "A White World"
At the end of the case, Vermouth is in the Porsche along with Gin and Vodka. Gin and Vermouth talk about what has happened and Gin seems sorry for having involved her, an high ranked member, only to help a man like Pisco. This is a brief moment in which Gin shows to hold Vermouth in high esteem.
Tumblr media
Vol. 29, File "Invisible Fear"
The quintessential GinxVermouth scene, the one that made this ship canon for the first time and for good. Vermouth asks Gin if he wants to make some Martini tonight.
(Martini is a mix of Gin and Vermouth)
Tumblr media
Vol. 34, File "Time to pick the Apple"
In this scene, Vermouth sends an email to Gin and, at the end of it, she writes "XXX" (which stands for three kisses).
Tumblr media
Vol. 42, File "Rotten Apple"
At the end of the case, Vermouth is badly injured and finds a shelter in a phone booth. She calls Gin and asks him if he could pick her up.
Eventhough Vermouth didn't inform him about nothing (and believing that he was not aware of what she has been plotting), she still decides to call him.
This shows that Vermouth relies on Gin when she is in a serious situtation. She could have called other lower ranked members but she didn't.
Tumblr media
Vol. 48, File "A New Person in Black"
After having discussed about the plan, Vermouth openly asks to stay out of this. As soon as Chianti hears her voice, she gets out of her car and yells at her, blaming Vermouth for the death of Calvados. Gin immediately stops Chianti, hushing her with just few words.
Tumblr media
Vol. 49, File "Black Organization vs F.B.I. - 1"
After having discussed about plan B, Vermouth says that she has a bad feeling about this and asks to be killed if something goes wrong. Gin immediately notices her words and plainly asks her if ther is something bothering her.
Eventhough she replies that it is nothing to worry about, Gin observes Vermouth departing, knowing that she lied to him.
Tumblr media
Vol. 49, File "Black Organization vs F.B.I. - 2"
Gin has found the bug under Kir's shoe and all the Men in Black go to Kogoro's office in order to kill him. Vermouth doesn't agree with this and she openly says this multiple times. Gin orders Chianti and Korn to kill both Kogoro and Conan but, upon hearing another statement from Vermouth defending the detective, he reacts pointing his gun at her.
Gin asks if there is something between her and Kogoro but she just teases him. Gin decides to put away his gun because he understood that Vermouth was behaving in her usual way. He decides to let it all go and do further researches.
This really seems a jealousy scene, just as Vermouth's one at the beginning of the scene in Vol. 29, where she teases Gin for staring at the singer.
Tumblr media
Vol. 49, File "Black Organization vs F.B.I. - 2"
After the their retreat, Vermouth once again intervenes in favour of Kogoro, explaining how things went according to her point of view.
Gin decides to believe her and lets Kogoro live, listening to Vermouth's request.
Tumblr media
Vol. 78, File "All Aboard!"
At the beginning of the case, Gin and Vermouth are talking on the phone. Eventhough only to tell him not to interfere, Vermouth informs Gin about her plans.
Gin seems very happy about it and even teases her.
From now on, Vermouth decides to regain his trust little by little (eventually she will stop doing everything on her own by the end of The Scarlet Return and she will openly say it to Bourbon).
Tumblr media
Vol. 78, File "Final Destination"
Gin and Vodka are waiting for Vermouth and Bourbon at the last stop in Nagoya. While the two are talking, Vodka reveals that Vermouth has asked him to give her more C4 if there was any spare.
Gin immediately reacts and he is even more concerned when Vodka states that she has provided no explanation for her request.

A3! Translation - Regional Tour Instablam Posts (Autumn Troupe)
Autumn was a little easier to do than Winter was... you’ll probably see why pretty quickly lol
Also, the like count on the posts seem to be completely random.  This isn’t important to the meanings of the posts, but I think it’s really funny that I’ve gotten Kazu posts with 0 likes lol
Also you can see here that I tried to vary the way they type out their tags in terms of capitalization and stuff!  That’s a purely stylistic choice on my part; there’s not much in the Japanese that implies for it to go either way

Notes:
1. This was 駅弁悩む (ekiben nayamu), which is literally “worry about the station bento,” but that sounded to me like he wasn’t sure if it would be good or not
2. Dotonbori is a popular tourist destination in Osaka!  Food is huge in Dotonbori, and Osaka in general, which you’ll see in a lot of the posts about it. The Running Man sign is an ad for Glico, the company responsible for Calpico/Calpis and Pocky!  The ad has been up since 1935.
3. Taichi says 好きやねん (sukiyanen) here, which is Kansai dialect for “love it”.  I normally don’t do anything funky with Kansai-ben, but if I didn’t it’d look like he was saying “I love Osaka. JK NO I DON’T” lmao so we had to do SOMETHING.  Shoutout to Moonlight for the simple suggestion!
4. Here Taichi uses the phrase 食い倒れ (kuidaore), which basically means “eat til you drop.  I had to change the TL a to “eat oneself to death” to make it sound ok, but it basically means the same thing, right? Omi’s “food binge” is also originally 食い倒れ
5. The standard tsukkomi retort in manzai as well
6. This was 新潟最高 (Niigata saikou), with 最高 basically meaning “greatest.”  I let myself have a little fun as a treat lol
7. Another name for Fukuoka

In Japan’s glittering cities, all hustle and light, they can be easy to miss.
With all that sensory assault, who thinks to look down and take notice of something as mundane as a manhole cover? But these are no ordinary bits of civic infrastructure.
In Japan, many manhole covers are works of urban art—elaborate, curious, distinctive, even colorful.
They have become a tourist destination unto themselves and attract a legion of dedicated manhole enthusiasts who travel the country to visit some of the thousands of unique designs.
Japan’s decorated manhole covers—broadly encompassing storm drain, domestic water supply, electrical and other utility access covers—initially took shape as a public relations campaign for sewers.
Beginning in the 1950s, the cast plates featured simple geometric patterns, such as the “Tokyo” and “Nagoya” designs.
Japanese civil servant Yasutake Kameda conceived of the intricate, artistic versions in 1985 to help warm a skeptical rural population to the idea of the costly but necessary modernization of the country’s sewer system.
From these humble and practical beginnings, manhole covers have become a cultural phenomenon.
Tumblr media
Typically, “local manholes” or “design manholes” feature elements special to a particular location: a town emblem, landmark, event, or official bird or flower.
For instance, Takasaki, 60 miles northwest of Tokyo in mountainous Gunma Prefecture, has manhole covers that commemorate the city’s popular summer fireworks festival.
Local mascots (known as yurukyara, such as Fukaya City’s adorable rabbit-deer Fukkachan) and cartoon characters also appear.
In Tokyo’s Tama ward, home of the Sanrio Puroland amusement park, one can find covers featuring the ever-popular Hello Kitty.
Local sports franchises are also represented near the teams’ home arenas and stadiums—such as the well-known colorful depiction of the logo of the Hiroshima Carp baseball team.
While there is some logic to the placement of the covers, particularly those graced with color—usually near a landmark, theme park, or stadium—others appear to have been placed without rhyme or reason.
Indeed, it is not unusual to walk down an otherwise unremarkable side street and spot a special one underfoot.
Tumblr media
The ornate manhole covers are initially carved from aluminum, which is used to make sand molds for casting.
The majority of the designs are selected by local municipalities, in conjunction with manufacturers.
In most cases, the design is just imprinted in the cover, but in some cases, the covers get another touch—colored resins flooded into voids like enamel on jewelry.
Today, an estimated 95 percent of Japan’s 1,718 municipalities across all 47 prefectures now host their own unique covers.
In Osaka, approximately 10 percent of the city’s 180,000 manhole covers feature ornate designs, of which roughly 1,900 get the color treatment.
Typically, a designed manhole cover, which weighs more than 80 pounds, excluding the frame, costs approximately $585—a five percent premium over the cost of a plain cover.
The color, however, is applied carefully by hand and nearly doubles the price of a manhole to more than $900.
Such is the popularity of these little urban treasures that they have a devout, organized following.
There is the industry-led Japan Ground Manhole Association and the fan-based Japanese Society of Manhole Covers, whose website features thousands of photographs submitted by users across Japan, who have snapped everything from large sewer covers to tiny local utility access panels.
Tumblr media
“Manholers,” as they’re known, may travel to distant areas of the country just to photograph covers or collect pencil rubbings known as takuhon.
Trading cards featuring manhole designs are also popular collectors’ items and can command steep prices in online auctions.
One prominent fan is Kei Takebuchi, a popular Tokyo-based singer-songwriter.
Takebuchi traces her fascination with them to the covers of Nagoya, which feature a charming cartoon water strider insect, while she was on tour in 2015.
Since then, she has regularly tweeted photos of manhole covers to her nearly 200,000 followers on social media.
“Every manhole cover design has [a meaning] … it tells me that we can create art with almost anything,” she says, in an interview for this story.
Like many places, Japan is full of people with unusual hobbies or obsessions, but love for the country’s manhole covers has gone mainstream:
a “manhole festival” was held near a major train station in Tokyo last month, featuring trading cards, baked goods, and replica covers from around the country.
Retailer Tokyu Hands ran an extended campaign at its central Shinjuku location, with a range of manhole cover–related goods for sale.
Tumblr media
The affinity for manhole covers also seems to tap in to Japan’s fondness for hobbies that involve lots of domestic travel.
Stamp rallies—featuring rubber stamps at train stations and other landmarks—encourage hobbyists to travel to overlooked or lesser-visited locales to add one more stamp to their collections.
“Rail-fans” similarly scour the country to document or experience a rare train carriage, an unusual station melody, or other rail-related minutia.
It is the same for manholers, with the occasionally far-flung or seemingly random placement of coveted covers—and directions of varying accuracy—adding to the sense of a scavenger hunt.
Indeed, Takebuchi recounts once spending three hours on a bitterly cold day in Kawagoe City in Saitama Prefecture to snap a photo of a particular manhole cover, beautifully designed with an images of Toki no Kane, a historic bell tower.
Similar stories are common currency in manholing circles.
Easy to overlook, but curious and rewarding, Japan’s unique manhole covers are a charming reminder that the mundane can be exciting and that you should never forget to look down.

Sorry for the late reply, anon! I stumbled upon this and I thought of Jyushi. I hope you'll like it.
Title: Stroll in the woods Fandom: Hypnosis Mic Pairing: Kuko/Jyushi Prompt: "Your hands feel good in mine."
“K-Kuko-san! Wait… wait up!” Jyushi whined as he tried to keep up with the monk.
“Jyushi, your legs are at least thirty centimeters longer than mine. How's it possible for you to be so slow?” Kuko sighed and stopped on his tracks.
September had long gone and the forest around them was already starting to be tinged with the warm autumnal colors. He had thought that it would be a good moment to spend a few days far from Nagoya to meditate and train in peace. When he had decided to leave, he had thought that Jyushi would be good company, but now…
He looked at the young man who was struggling to free his shoe from some kind of vine. He looked at him and his pink My Melody tracksuit. Who would wear something that cute to go hiking?
“Please… please…” Jyushi looked like he was on the verge of tears. “Tell me that we’re arrived at our destination…”
Kuko nodded and pointed to a small river nearby. “We just need to cross that.”
“Uh… it looks deep. Is there a bridge somewhere?” Jyushi commented.
“Bridge? Nahhh…” The monk laughed as he took his shoes and socks off. “See those large rocks? We just need them to cross it.”
Without waiting for an answer, Kuko started to walk on the slippery boulders without hesitation. He moved gracefully, like a cat running on a roof, and jumped on the other side of the river. When he turned around, he discovered that Jyushi hadn’t moved at all from his spot.
“So? What are you waiting for?”
Jyushi frowned. “They look slippery…”
“They are! That’s why you have to take off your shoes: you’ll have more grip that way!” Kuko explained and crossed his arms.
“But… but… what if I fall in the river?” “The current it’s not that strong to drag you away. You’d just get a little wet!”
“But…” The singer looked down at his tracksuit, making Kuko roll his eyes. Of course he didn’t want to ruin it!
Jyushi needed support and he would be that. As the leader of Bad Ass Temple, Jyushi’s friend and person who lov-... cared about him, it was his duty to help him. Sighing, Kuko did the only thing he knew would work. He came across the river once again and stopped right in front of the other.
“Give me your hands.” He ordered.
“Uh?”
“Trust me. I’ll help you cross the river without falling in the water.”
Blue eyes scanned his face in search of any sign of bluff or mockery, but in the end Jyushi nodded. “Ok.” He whispered and placed his hand in Kuko’s warm ones.
The two proceeded slowly since Kuko was walking backwards and Jyushi was as tense as a bow. The monk was extremely attentive to every single step of the other, adapting his own movements to the uncertain ones of Jyushi.  It looked like they were learning a new dance.
After what felt like ages, they reached the other side of the river and Kuko let out a breath. Still holding Jyushi’s hands, he looked at him with a big smile. “See? It wasn’t that hard.”
The singer nodded and blushed a little. His eyes moved to their intertwined hands. “Kuko-san…”
“Yes?”
“You hands… your hands feel good in mine.” He confessed, smiling shyly.
“Oh, really?” Kuko asked, trying to hide his grin. He now took notice of how soft Jyushi’s hands were. Sweaty, maybe, but also smooth. “Well, if you are still scared of falling down, you can hold them a little longer.”
The two started to walk again with smiles still adorning their faces.
After a few meters they both slipped on some wet leaves, Kuko blamed Jyushi and the latter began to cry.

Ghibli Park finally opens it doors in Japan: it’s like, an anime DisneyLand (news).
The long-awaited tourist destination of this year for anime fans – and lovers of Studio Ghibli in particular – is the new Ghibli Park in Japan, which is situated inside the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park close to Nagoya (in the middle of the country, more or less). In line with Studio Ghibli’s emphasis on nature and the outdoors, it has a lot of outdoor space. Today (November 1st 2022 for…

I love how you draw King dedede! Also, thoughts on the Kirby TV show Kirby right back at you?
Thank you so much! Uhm this might get long so apologies for that The anime was a big part of my childhood and for my love of Kirby so I have a LOT of thoughts on it (also this includes some mild spoilers if anyone wanted to watch it)
I love it quite a lot, actually. It was one of the first mediums that helped me get really into Kirby (KRtDL/Super Star Ultra are probably the first ones to introduce me to Kirby).
I think the anime is very fun and really entertaining, but dear god I hate that it isn't game accurate. With the anime being so easy to access compared to the games (if you either don't have the money to afford one OR if you don't want to be spoiled by watching someone's playthrough/gameplay), it unfortunately is easy to think that the anime is canon, which still is a problem to this day.
For the anime content itself, I really like that they tried to build some lore about Kirby himself, and about how he and MK are a species that are destined to be Star Warriors or something, its cute! I don't mind the Cappies either, although I wont lie, it was a little odd going with "Cappy" as the population LOL. Them giving some stories with some of the generic enemies, such as with Bonkers and Knuckle Joe, was really nice. They also chose a really good voice cast for everyone in both ENG and JP, especially Dedede's. I also like the little quirk for Dedede and Escargoon in the JP where they end their sentences with "zoi" and "gesu" (I don't really know the reason for this, but I think it's a personality quirk of sorts? I could be wrong though).
Also I love Chef Nagoya so much, he's so cute, one of my most favorite characters from the anime
I do have gripes with it though. I can't help but feel Meta Knight is... really weak LOL, he's supposed to be the "last Star Warrior" and dear god he feels like just... a retired old man JDSFJHJGHH it's a little hard to be convinced that HE was the last one to survive But he is a little goofy guy, he appears and just runs away giving vague advice as if he's those "wise" people tropes. Also the fact that they didn't make him fly, when (I think) in the pilot, he does. Also just. Dedede himself. NOT THAT HE'S BAD, I quite like him a lot. It's just his characterization fucked me up so badly that I have a hard time trying not to go back to his "big asshole" type characterization.
Kirby speaking. I like that they went with him saying "Poyo", but it's been engrained so hard into my brain that I legit didn't know it was an anime only thing till recently. Although, I think that's fine, but him actually... speaking... words. Feels wrong. And this is also another issue for me, because only recently have I started to accept the "Kirby can speak" headcanon, when for so long, I've accepted that Kirby doesn't really speak since he's a "baby", because of the anime.
This is specifically with the dub. I fucking hate that they made Blade Knight incomprehensible. You have no idea how big of a relief it was to hear Blade Knight have actual speaking lines in the sub. ALSO renaming Lololo and Lalala to "Fololo" and "Falala". That fucked me up so much, it took me so long to get used to their original names
Lastly is the animation. I absolutely love the style they went with for Dedede, it's really expressive! I know that they had to use 3D with some parts to save money/move the process along, but dear god they made some part's 3D when it would have been easier to have do it with 2D. But I guess you can't do anything about that.
By the way, the anime is the reason I have a strong hatred for Kine
In conclusion, the anime is good if you want some entertainment, but it kind of ruined/mixed up a lot of people's perception on Kirby and actual canon. While how badly that has effected the community is up to the community itself, but for me as a big fan of Kirby now, it kind of messed me up a bit that I struggle with separating them still.

Our chance in a life time trip is now over but I wanted share some knowledge with anyone thinking about traveling to Japan in the near future.
Purchasing a Japan Rail Pass was a very cost effective way of getting around Japan. It allows access to the bullet trains( Shinkansen ) and many local trains for one flat price because it's more expensive if you purchase individual tickets to individual destinations when you're there. I went with a JR West Rail pass to save money since we were only traveling to Tokyo and West of there.
The JapanTravel app for the smartphones is an effective way to plan your train journey and see the current status of trains. We used it to travel to Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo.

We flew to Chitose airport in Hokkaido from Tokyo and chartered a White Liner bus to Niseko where our friends picked us up. In winter, it's crucial that you allow at least a four hour buffer for the bus to go through the mountian passes because weather can delay the 2.5 hour journey.
Any hotels were booked using the Booking app. Next time I might stay in Hostels to save more money like I did 11 years ago.
I have a smart phone with an eSIM so I went with the company Ubigi to buy a 50gb data plan, no voice, that expires in 1 month. We were watching Youtube videos so you may only need a 25gb package. Be aware that the price is in $USD.
The Customs App is filled out ahead of time per passenger and it contains passport information, declarations and places you're staying at. Customs will check the resultant QR codes when you land. You will also need to show customs the QR code that shows proof of three vaccinations.
GoogleTranslate was invaluable in deciphering script characters on grocery products using camera mode as well as communicating with people using a microphone or typing text. Lifesaver!
The three phrases I learned as a Gaijin( foreigner ) that came in handy:
Sumimasen - Excuse me
Arigatōgozaimasu - Thank you
Hhayo gozaimasu - Good morning ( which I accidentally used at all times of the day )
Oh! Another great thing about not having any checkin baggage is that it made it easier to hop on a different plane when we missed our connection flight.
I would espeically like to thank our host family for showing us around the local area and tolerating our aloof and messy nature.
