proper reupload in the high quality this fantastic segment so deserves; eagle pig and duck bias notwithstanding, this will forever be my favorite variant of the fabled switcheroo (and a reminder that Daffy was first at his own game!) the committal on behalf of both characters--especially the sincerity of Daffy's feigned sincerity--really sets it apart

#that delivery of “don't you believe i'm a fish?” sounds so hurt and it's perfect #likewise i think there are few one-liners/toppers that make me laugh as much as 'i told ya i was a pig' #and that all knowing glance at the audience from Daffy doesn't feel obnoxiously smarmy or self aware #there's a friendly nonchalance to it. a very clear amusement and not in a way that undermines anything this segment is setting out to achie #again. my favorite buzzword: that sincerity! a sincere investment and amusement in watching Porky obliviously and endearingly make an ass #out of himself #and of course the cross dissolve and setup of the composition implying a story/sequence of events taking place within that time... #this short isn't my favorite P+D short--i still LOVE IT A TON but there are so many i revere--but i think it's one of the most definitive #if someone was looking to get a good understanding on their character dynamic this would be one of my immediate recommendations #i haven't had the bandwidth to spread my pig and duck gospel but please #watch Porky and Daffy cartoons #tangential but i've always loved the sound effect Treg Brown uses for Porky dropping the gun #good exaggeration/whimsy while also connoting Porky's stubbornness and that this stupid petty argument is enough for him to lose sight of #his motives and discard his murder weapon. all because of this joyously stupid argument. so i like the self awareness there with how obtuse #the sound effects are #because anyone who is not Porky Pig would have just shot him point blank #and that is everything i love about their dynamic and how Daffy's intoxicating charisma and ability to get people invested even affects the #very characters on screen #gee d'you think i ought to have said more about this scene #lt #duck soup to nuts #freleng #vid

The descriptive line: The feeling, combined with the sight of her smile made him break into his own sort of smile: a subtle smirk that was very much lopsided.

Dialogue line: “He scream-sings,” Don went on. “Moch’s a better cox than a singer.”

NOT to pat myself on the back but… I had a moment where I was like “I WROTE THAT???” I couldn’t help but giggle and show my youngest sister (who also writes) kinda like “See what I wrote?? SEE WHAT I WROTE?! DO YOU LIKE IT?!” She did lol!

Does anyone have any recommendations for (audio)books where the characters are nice to each other and the protagonists win in the end without being traumatized beyond recognition? The last four or five books I’ve listened to have been real downers and I need a palette cleanser. Don’t care what genre as long as it’s fiction, preferably aimed at adults

#I know the trend rn is protagonist doesn’t win without great effort but like #I wanna read something uplifting but still exciting #like we know the protagonist is gonna win in the end but we still cheer them on ya know? #I get the whole ‘you can’t trust anyone and winning must be hard to be realistic’ but like #people are kind and helpful to each other in real life too #thats why I really like tamora pierce’s writing tbh cause like there’s real stakes and bad people but there’s also good and helpful people #like the Keladry books are about a soldier during a war. straight up. #and yeah she goes through some really shitty and traumatic things but there’s always people on her side helping and taking care of her #and her sense of justice which is her defining trait allows her to win in the end #I just wish I could find books like that aimed at adults

there’s rats in my kitchen but i want something from my fridge

#peach rambles #sorry my life is falling apart and i feel the need to tell people about it #this is a good time to say that most shit under the peach rambles tag is not stuff to reply to or offer advice on #(peach stuff is a different tag with stuff i actually may care for people see) #anyway yeah ive been suspecting my house has had rats for a while but ive been. turning a blind eye to the signs because frankly that’s #just another problem for me to have to figure out how to solve and it’s always a pain dealing with my landlord so it’s like. #whatever. ya know? anyway earlier i went to get a drink from the fridge and . #there was a scrambling noise by the oven (right next to the fridge) and i looked over to see . #a rat bottom (not NOT large) squeezing it’s way up between the wall and the bottom of the microwave (a space i did not know existed) #i saw it’s feet. it’s tail. it was in fact a rat. not a mouse . alive #and then there was more scrambling sounds from behind the oven and #it’s important to keep in mind that i watched this happen in complete silence. like it didn’t take long for the rat to disappear from sight #but i definitely 1) saw the rat 2) froze in my tracks 3) watched the rat disappear 4) stood in defeated silence (w/ rat scrambling noises) #i finished my drink and want another but that means going back to the kitchen . the rats are there (they are possibly everywhere but #Rather Not. you understand) #i am going to get another drink i did text my landlord all is well. i just. don’t want to see another rat butt #anyway . if you’ve been wondering why im not very active or why i haven’t watched/talked about s5 of ml #it’s because my life is falling apart and now there are rats in my house. there may have been rats in my house this whole time #hope this helps<3

#READING IS SUCH A THRILL DID Y'ALL KNOW ABOUT THIS #i've acquired two books off that queerplatonic ace rep rec list so far and i am. thrilled about it #the first one is not like.
