Ishtar Gate
Berlin, Germany
The grand and spacious architecture surrounding Museum Island is breathtaking. I had a bit of a bad start to the day as I arrived here though… was pickpocketed of 100 Euro by two women, one pretending to be deaf. :/ Lesson learned.
While upset, I consciously tried not to let that deter me from enjoying my limited time here. I went to check out the Pergamon Museum and marveled at the Babylonian Ishtar Gate and past those gates, the ancient Roman Market Gate of Miletus.
I'd love to explore the other museums next time I'm in Berlin.

Berlin in Review
We had a great, if sometimes somber, time in Berlin. It is a city that I would love to visit again, maybe in the spring next time instead of the heart of winter. I would also like to see some more of the country. What is your favorite part of Berlin? Let me know in the comments and safe travels!

Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island, Berlin, Germany
Featured in today's image, Museum Island—embraced by the Spree River—is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is home to a museum quintet: Altes, Bode, Pergamon, Neues Museums and Alte Nationalgalerie. The Berlin Cathedral, one of the most popular attractions in the city, rises above the island. The cathedral is a stunning architectural masterpiece known for its magnificent green dome and fascinating history that spans across centuries. For hundreds of years, it has captivated visitors with its grandeur and intricate details. Its ornate façade stands as a testament to Berlin's rich history and cultural heritage. Inside, it's exquisite interior and artwork offer a glimpse into the city's past and present artistic splendour.
