The villagers of İkizköy who have been fighting against the coal mine expansion that will destroy the Akbelen Forest in Milas, Muğla for more than two years, woke up yesterday at 5:30 am to the arrival of gendarme and loggers. Gendarme teams blocked the main roads with anti-riot water cannon vehicles. Internet access was stopped with jammers to suppress the cries for help, and there are still connection issues. The echoes of machines cutting hundreds year old trees could be heard outside of the forest. Gendarme forces intervened very harshly with tear gas and shields. The anti-riot water cannon vehicles sprayed chemical liquid on the defenders. Some defenders were injured, some got arrested including the lawyer of the villagers, İsmail Hakkı Atal.
The logging is still ongoing. The people of İkizköy demand that the blockade in the Akbelen Forest be lifted as soon as possible and that the logging decision be stopped, and they call everyone to support the Akbelen Forest. This is the last chance to save the Akbelen Forest, please sign the petition and join the fight by sharing everything on social media!

Fethiye, which has a unique beach like Ölüdeniz, is one of the important tourism centers of Turkey.
It has very suitable places for diving, such as Af Kule.
There are many caves opened to tourism.
With its natural structure, alternative sports such as paragliding are possible.
There are very special regions with untouched nature, such as Butterfly Valley and Kabak Bay.
The islands called 12 Islands can be visited with daily tours.
Ölüdeniz beach was chosen as the most beautiful beach in the world in 2006 with 82% of the votes.
Beautiful beaches around Fethiye, outside Ölüdeniz: Belcekız (Belceğiz), Çalış Beach, Iztuzu Beach (Dalyan)
In addition to so many alternatives, it is also open to cultural tourism with its city ruins from ancient times.
Some of the ancient cities around Fethiye are:
Telmessos, Kaunos, Kadyanda, Tlos, Pınara, Letoon, Sidyma and Xantos. Apart from these, Fethiye Museum also serves tourism with its rich artifacts.
Knight Island:
Knight Island, also known as Meğri Island and Fethiye Island in history;
It is a long, thin, wishbone-shaped island that closes the Gulf of Fethiye and makes the harbor a sheltered place.
It is the only inhabited island in the chain of islands surrounding the region.
There is Kızılada to the west of Knight Island, Çalış Beach to the east, Fethiye to the south, and the open sea to the north.
Due to its location in the heart of the port, it follows the sunlight throughout the day.

"Bridal costume from Muğla. Urban, 1925-1950. With goldwork embroidered silk ‘üçetek’ (robe with three panels) and önlük/peşkir (apron; ‘two-sided’ silk embroidery on linen). The round mirror on the hat is an amulet against the ‘evil eye’. Except for that monumental hat, this costume was also worn as a general festive dress."
