One of the most beautiful scenes in the books is when Peeta is sending of the dead Morphling.

The way he talks about the colors and painting. The imagery he draws out.

The way she paints on his face and looks to him for comfort. Without even seeing the flower, he says, "It's beautiful," knowing the words she craved in her last moments of life.

He is by far one of my favorite characters in a book EVER

everyone seems mildly upset that hob's name is 'hob' of all things but that is literally part of his charm. the combination of 'dream' and 'hob' as a ship IS the best set of names one could possibly hoped for. can't be improved on in any way. we should embrace this which is also why i insist that we call them DROB--

Fic Update: A Headcanon Encyclopedia of Panem (Hunger Games)

More world-building to support my Hunger Games fanfic series! Excruciating detail about each district and my ideas about the cataclysm that destroyed pre-Panem civilization, development of the country, and all manner of exposition about each district’s population, geography, government, education, and culture.

Chapter 7 is now up: Life in District 6 including an up-close map and sections on Population, Geography, Climate, Economy, Government/Divisions/Output, Education, Tribute Academy, Relationships with other districts and the Capitol, Food, and Culture (culture includes languages, religion, class divisions, music/entertainment, weddings, holidays, and status of the rebellion).

At a reader request, culture regarding death and funerals has been added.

The rebellion might have told the other victor rebels to keep Peeta alive for Katniss's sake, but I truly 100% believe Mags and the morphling woman would have sacrificed themselves for Peeta regardless. And not for Katniss or the rebellion, but for him.

He was a 17-year-old boy, just a kid. A kid who has already had to deal with more than he should, who still had a chance of living a good life should the rebellion succeed. After all of the years Mags and the morphling woman spent mentoring other children to watch them die, to be so powerless against such evil, that choice to offer up their lives in place of Peeta's had to have been an easy decision. A relief, even, to finally to stand up against Snow and protect at least one child.
