Working for the TVA meant you met a lot of cocky arrogant know it all variants but when it came to this Loki he was the worse. Both you and B-15 were taking bets on who got to prune him first, so far, she was winning.

Loki stood like a good boy next to the so-called Hunter b-15 as she drabbled on about something with Mobius, Loki's attention was focused elsewhere, that elsewhere was you. He notes the way the amour molded to your body perfectly. It shaped you hips, ass and breasts greatly. He also noted you were one of the few that refused to wear that ridiculous helmet and he was glad, he loved watching your hair fly round freely when you were kicking ass, or the way it flowed when you were storming up to him to give your two cents.

He always found a way to piss you off just so he had a reason to talk to you, he craved the attention you bestowed upon him even in the short bursts, he remembered every single one.

You glance over to the Trickster God and notice him staring. You roll your eyes, not again. You saw the way the shadows made his face look perfectly evil and you couldn't not help but feel your body react in a way that would end with you getting pruned if anyone found out.

The glance didn't go unnoticed by Loki, he smirked when his eyes locked with yours for the quickest second and darted away. Shortly after the group departed, Hunter went with Mobius, leaving you Loki alone in the room. Without saying anything you turn your heel and leave, but you hear him follow you. " Am I that bad you must leave my presence immediately? Or is there another reason, say you can't be trusted around me by yourself." You chuckle at him, and turn quickly, forcing him to stop and you to go straight into his chest. His arms wrapped around you, and it felt like bliss for a second, but you quickly tried pushing yourself out of his grip, his arms tighten. Loki looks down at you, eyes locking, he can feel your heart beating faster, he notes you are softer than all he imagined. Your body fits his perfectly. You try to speak but the words are struggling to come out. You don't want to admit it, but it feels so nice to have him wrapped around you. "Cat got your tongue Y/N?" His voice husky with need. "No?" He starts moving your bodies into a dark hidden corner of the TVA hallway. Loki moves his face closer to your, " I think you like this don't you Y/N. I can read you like one of Mobius's magazines, you want me just as much I want you. " You threw caution to the wind and wrapped your arms around his neck, making him come closer and kissed him. He just admitted the feelings were mutual. You feel him deepen the kiss, tongues clashing, he started grinding his length into you. You moan at the sensation, very soon you both are heavily breathing with want and need. Neither of you notice the figure behind the wall. Hunter B-15 peeks around the corner and smiles, gives two big thumbs up to Mobius and walks away.

You know what would be a telltale sign Mobius isn't doing well?

He loses his appetite.

He just ... forgets to eat. Sometimes he stops eating entirely for whole days.

We know Loki can hear Mobius; we're less certain if he can actually see him. Over time, Loki might start to notice Mobius saying things like:

"Thanks, but I'm not hungry."

"I don't feel like eating right now. Maybe later."

"I'm not in the mood, but maybe [X] wants it."

They're small comments that can easily be overlooked until it gets to the point Mobius is saying these things constantly. And then friends like B-15 start to notice:

"Mobius, are you okay? You look ... you look really thin."

His clothes don't hang off him right. He looks gaunt and tired and a husk of his former soft and sassy sunshine self.

Because although Mobius eats when he's stressed, he also eats when he's happy (mostly in Loki's company). Depression is a whole different emotion. Rapid changes in weight is a common symptom. It would be just as feasible for Mobius to overeat, but since S1, so many of his good memories of Loki stem from being in the cafeteria or sharing food together. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine him trying his hardest to avoid reigniting those memories.

Individually and together, Loki and Mobius personify Chaos + Order. Their relationship and love is the balance the TVA needs.

Victor is talking about the temporal loom, AND this is related to Loki and Mobius' relationship.

Yes, Loki is chaos and Mobius is order... except they each have a little of both principles in themselves because of each others' positive influence.

They've grown together, they've changed each other, and that's why they're the key to saving everyone and everything.

It can never be only chaos or only order. It's about both.

The TVA was only order, initially.

And when He Who Remains wanted it run by Loki and Sylvie, it was "pure chaos" – as Mobius predicted when deriding the idea of them together, which is partially why they are fundamentally incompatible.

Neither was sustainable, and neither can be the TVA's future.

(A few days ago I was talking about chaos and order and said "in episode 6 they’re gonna be back at the citadel, and it’ll include Mobius, and Loki’s gonna pick up his dagger in a lokius context, and they’re gonna commit to co-running the TVA (maybe with B-15) and also kiss. Meet in peace at the end of time for order + chaos, let’s GO" so you can imagine how thrilled I was by these themes making a blatant return in this episode lmao)

This is spelled out here too, of course:

Ravonna personifies only order, while Sylvie personifies only chaos. Hence why they've been at odds from the start, which kickstarted this whole thing when Sylvie was taken by the TVA.

But...

"All that matters is order versus chaos" isn't true.

"When will you learn that none of your words mean a thing?" isn't TRUE.

Mobius' words were the catalyst for Loki to change – hence the framing during that line – and the ways they personify order and chaos as a result is in a partnership rather than in a battle.

The equal relationship and love between Mobius and Loki is ACTUALLY all that matters in the end.

As a bonus, this episode even provided a pitch-perfect microcosm of evidence that, per usual, Mobius' words mean everything. They're vital.

^^^^ This is what happened in the show at large, but condensed.

Loki was ready to do something rash, like maybe killing Victor Timely. He was panicking. Mobius talked him down, and Loki immediately saw sense and they began to work together to help instead of harm.

Loki, changed by Mobius, then stands in front of Sylvie and tries to keep her from killing.

He tries to get her to stop and think. She doesn't listen and he cannot change her.

It's EXACTLY what happened in the season 1 finale. And it happens on a wheel. 🌀

What actually changes Sylvie and gets her to listen is Sylvie seeing herself in Victor, which I LOVE.

All Sylvie wants is free will. Victor asks her for that. If she kills him – "prunes him" for being a Variant – she'd be no better than the old TVA.

So... one last thought (for this post, at least):

Mobius' slow, deliberate, cerebral approach – coupled with his words – is what Loki needs.

But Mobius needs him just as much for many reasons, including the fact that sometimes Loki sees the obvious that Mobius DOES miss :)

Chaos and order in harmony.

This is a love story, as always.

And now that love story is explicitly irrevocably tied even more to the plot.

So going over the last episode.

We have Mobius being the one to ask Loki if he’s okay. Everyone else noticed something is weird but he’s the one that asks. And then when Loki starts being extremely weird it’s Mobius that grabs him by the shirt and is like “what the fuck?” (Except is Disney so he can’t say it).

Then Mobius is with Sylvie in that one “For you” shot that has plausible deniability.

Then afterward it’s Mobius that looks absolutely miserable. Look at Mr. stress eater is just holding a cup of coffee listlessly. B-15 checks on him but she’s so gentle like she knows his heart is broken. It’s Mobius who is depressed on the timeline while Sylvie looks fine. (In fairness to her she is not as prone to show emotions but she’s definitely seemed more upset throughout the show.)

In the end it’s a Mobius who waits and a Loki who remains. Hopefully Deadpool 3 helps- since Mobius is supposed to show up.

I also just imagine Tom calling Feige and being like- how gay can are we allowed to make this? “Okay fine we can’t say it explicitly but can we have them obviously pining for one another?”

warnings: mention of nightmares, a bit of angst(?

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

He is not one to show much affection in public (he will probably grab your hand or hold you by the waist gently) but when no one is looking he will treat you like a queen/king. He will fill you with kisses and hug you warmly, hugging you in his arms and holding you close to his chest for a long time, both of you in silence.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Let's face it, it would be difficult to win Loki's friendship, he is distrustful and a little hard to trust (but if Mobius did it, anyone can!) You probably have to be patient and listen to him without judging him. When they are friends he will be like with Mobius, quite protective. Obviously he will annoy you with his jokes but he will always look out for you and make sure that nothing bad happens to you. Loki also knows that he can trust you to help him with any problem and vice versa.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Yes! Loki loves cuddles. He feels protected in your arms and a good cuddle makes him feel better when he is sad or afraid. I think he would prefer to be cuddlered but he is not opposed to the idea of cuddlering you either.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Loki would like to move in with you whenever he sees fit, he will not make a decision without first consulting you. And if the answer is yes, at first I feel like Loki wouldn't clean or cook for the simple fact that he's not used to it (I imagine him like when he was sitting at the TVA reading the rules bored and lazing around). But then he would get used to it and help you in whatever way he can.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Well if you break up with him (gurl why would you do that?) poor Loki would be devastated 😭. He had already made up his mind about a life with you and you go and break up with him for "x" reason. But if he had to break up with you, uff man, he wouldn't even know how to start or what to say. Whatever the reason he broke up with you, he will be crying and explaining why he can't be with you, obviously he will tell you face to face.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

I think Loki wouldn't rush things, maybe wait a few years to commit when he already knows that you'll really stay with him. You know, trust for Loki is not his strong suit and you really have to earn it, but he would definitely like to one day marry you and have you be his goddess/god.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

LOKI IS A GENTLEMAN. He's the kind of man who will move the chair so you can sit down. His touches will always be soft and delicate, a gentle hand squeeze, a delicate grip on the arm or shoulder. As for emotions, he may be a little suspicious of showing emotions and opening up to you, I think that if something happened to him he would hide it and not because he doesn't trust you but because he doesn't want to worry you, but it's just a matter of time before he realize that it is healthier to seek your help and tell you what he feels, whether good or bad. He is a great listener so he will also prioritize your feelings.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Loki will not admit that he likes hugs, when you give him one he will pretend to be upset but inside he loves them. Over time the hugs will become more frequent, he no longer cares about hiding how much he loves hugs, Loki will hug you from behind, sitting on the couch, in a bed, wherever!

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Loki said it first, but it took a while. You were going to say it first but you were afraid that he would take it the wrong way or reject you, you knew him and you didn't want to rush things. But Loki confessed his feelings when he was sure that you were in danger and he didn't want to lose you, only then did he realize how in love he was.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Oh ho ho, Loki is definitely one to get jealous. He trusts you of course but he dislikes people who come towards you with clear flirting intentions and although he knows that you can handle yourself, Loki sometimes approaches them and threatens them. Sometimes he goes a little overboard and that's when you'll have to stop him, he could kill for you, literally. So when he is jealous he will be quite touchy.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Loki's kisses are passionate and tender. He will kiss you sweetly but only when you are alone. He likes to kiss your hands, especially your knuckles, on your forehead, on your neck. He can even go further and kiss the inside of your thighs when they are in the mood. Loki likes kisses on his back and his jaw going down to his shoulders.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

It depends, if they are your children, he will be the most loving and protective father of the nine kingdoms. Now if, on the other hand, they are children he don't know, he will probably feel irritated and impatient.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Loki likes to hug you from the back and pull you towards him when you are sleeping, sometimes your head is against his chest but you are always next to his arms so when you get up he draws you towards him again, showering you with kisses on your hair until you insist that you have to get up

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Sometimes he usually has nightmares and wakes up scared in the middle of the night but you are always there to calm him down by resting his head against your chest so he can feel your heartbeat, and then he falls asleep like a baby with you caressing his hair.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

As I said before, Loki will always be distrustful of new people so it is likely that at first he will close himself off and hide secrets from you or whatever, you have to be patient and know how to listen to him and understand him only then he can break that cold shell and show his true colors. colors

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Loki is quite angry and impatient, but it also depends on who. He rarely gets too angry or yells at you. He is afraid of saying something hurtful to you and that you will not appear in his life again, so when faced with an argument he will try to calm down and simply clench his teeth or frown.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Loki is a great listener and really pays attention to you because he cares so it's easy for him to remember things you like (or don't like). Sometimes he will surprise you by giving you something that you really wanted and that you had mentioned inadvertently, but he remembered it (or wrote it down somewhere). Above all, he remembers the deep conversations where they talk about their feelings.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

When Loki confessed to you that he was the son of a frost giant and opened up to you. He will never forget your attentive eyes on his face and your hands holding his, nodding with a worried gesture. The way you paid attention to him, listened to him, and cared about his well-being touched him.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Loki protects you with his life itself. It's like a lioness protecting her baby with claws and teeth. He would rather die than see you hurt. He always has his daggers ready and will always put himself in front of you to avoid any danger. The phrase: "if you touch a single hair on her head, yours will be on the ground next" is from Loki. As for being protected, the truth is that he can defend himself, he doesn't like the idea of you protecting him so much and not because he thinks you are weak but because he doesn't want to put you in danger, but every time you offer to fight at his side is proud of you.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

I think Loki is quite prone to buying you expensive things, he has been raised surrounded by opulence and highliness. Although it is likely that he forgets some special dates and not because he does not pay attention to you but because all those Midgardian things seem banal to him, why do you need a special day to show love if he can show it to you every day? (and it does). But Loki will make every effort to remember your anniversary and believe me, he will organize something elegant and romantic.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

HAHAH LOKI IS SUCH A DIVA, no but he seriously cares about his appearance. He is always well groomed with his hair back falling over his shoulders. The only time he doesn't pay as much attention to how he looks is when he's fighting or when a fight ends and his uniform is destroyed.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

YES, Loki couldn't live without you, you are the best thing that has happened to him, the only friend he has, the only one who loves him unconditionally for who he is and listens to him without judging. Without you his life feels empty as if something was missing, you are his anchor, his lighthouse that guides him, he does not want to lose that light that you are for him.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Since he loves to make mischief, sometimes he asks for your help, especially if it is to prank his brother Thor. He usually makes pranks on you too but they are not bad or hurtful.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He hates prejudiced people who only see him as a monster and don't bother trying to get to know him better.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Loki has a hard time falling asleep because of his nightmares, but he feels better if you are by his side holding his hand or hugging him. If not, he will probably fall asleep very late.

WIP Wednesday

Okay I’m actually on time for this so yay, lemme share what I’ve got going on as I’m writing the second and last chapter of my current Lokius fic, Becoming All Alone.

I was actually inspired by @lokimobius’s gif set posted yesterday about Loki and Brad’s different responses to Mobius’s love of jet skis 🥹

B-15 entered the room. Her expression was carefully solemn as she joined Mobius at the window. Her exhale trembled. “Do you feel him calling your name?”

Mobius dipped his head. Nervously licked his lips. “Well,” he said. “I don’t know about calling.”

B-15 looked at him, brow crinkled.

It felt right, pressing his palm flat against the glass. Just a little closer. He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination or something real, but he’d been feeling things, all right. Maybe he was alone in this. From the moment Loki had sealed himself beyond the blast doors, Mobius felt his soul had been removed from his chest with the precision of a melon baller digging out wet, slushy fruit. He couldn’t know if Loki felt the same. But he had faith. Filled to the brim with it.

His head tilted side to side as he weighed his choices. There was really only one response. “Maybe gently whispering.”

No, Sylvie didn’t “have a point” in that bar convo.

Ok. I’ve seen a lot of sylvie stans on Twitter (and ofc Twitter is the app of choice for sylvie stans lmao) claiming that, in the bar conversation in episode 5, Sylvie had the moral high ground. They say she Made Points and that she’s consistently been the one trying to preserve lives while Loki/Mobius/the TVA have been carelessly destroying them. Yeah. Let’s talk about that.

On Sylvie being right about Loki “kidnapping” people from their timelines…

First off, Loki admitted that he had an ulterior motive of bringing his friend group back together because he didn’t want to be alone. Cool! But he didn’t say he wanted to forcefully drag them from their happy lives and imprison them somewhere so they couldn’t leave just so he could hang out with them. He said they should be given a choice whether they wanted to join him in his ‘save the TVA’ quest or go back to their current lives. A choice. You know.. like what they didn’t have before.

And it’s kinda valid, when you think about it. Yes, they had/have lives on their original branches, but they also had/have lives at the TVA. Centuries worth of life there. They have friends there, they have jobs that they genuinely see as their own glorious purposes, and (in recent days) they have their own little world-saving team! They have a heroic mission! They have their friendship with Loki! And whether or not they should’ve been drafted to the TVA is irrelevant, because it happened. And those experiences are significant just like their experiences on the timeline. It was wrong for HWR to take away their memories and their choice to stay in their mundane lives, but it’s equally as wrong for Sylvie to not want to give them their memories of the TVA back or give them the choice to go back to that life, if they want to. And considering how A.D. Doug and Frank’s branch lives are going (read: not good), I’m fairly confident they’d choose to return if they had all their memories back.

And I mean, considering how the meeting with Sylvie went, if any of them had refused to come with Loki, he would have let them stay! It’s not like he was literally kidnapping them. He just wanted to give them a choice in hopes that they’d choose him. Just because Sylvie can’t imagine ever wanting to leave her life on the timeline to go back to the TVA doesn’t mean she can make that choice for others.

On Sylvie being right about just leaving everyone be and letting the TVA stay destroyed…

Like..??? This is so frustrating. This is probably my greatest source of annoyance with her throughout this entire season. She’s constantly argued in favour of inaction, despite the fact that she knows there is an emergency going on that requires immediate action. Moral discussions aside, just sitting at McDonalds and ignoring everything that’s going on isn’t feasible, because- as Loki has been trying to tell her for 4 episodes now- if the loom melts down, there won’t be a McDonalds anymore. There won’t be anything. The entire multiverse will be fettuccine 😭.

Like I just don’t understand her logic?? Either she doesn’t believe him (despite having evidence), or she just doesn’t care because a.) she thinks they should fix the mess she made while she just chills in the 80s OR b.) she thinks “well I’ll be fine, fuck everyone else 🤪” because she has the master tempad and thinks she can just keep outrunning the destruction like she’s been doing her whole life.

Either way, though, even if the branches weren’t being spaghettified and everything was fine.. there’s still a billion kang variants on the horizon. Like does that not trouble her at all? I’m sure her reasoning would be that she’d just kill any Kangs that show up, but it’s hilarious how she’s so confident in her ability to do that considering she did nothing impressive to kill He Who Remains. He sat in a chair and offered himself up to her. She walked up and stabbed him in the chest. Like there was no battle, that was no accomplishment. But she really thinks she did something, huh? To the point that she’s willing to risk the lives of everyone in the multiverse, gambling on her ability to single-handedly take on an entire army of all-powerful dudes actually trying to win. Nonsensical behaviour.

On Sylvie just wanting to save all the innocent people…

Building on my last point. Sylvie’s whole thing about being the one that stands up for The People and does everything in the best interest of the innocents… yeah, that’s bs lol. Sylvie, I think, has convinced herself that she’s fighting to preserve lives, but in all actuality, she’s just fighting to oppose the TVA. She’s not seeking justice (at least not primarily), she’s seeking revenge. And that’s been a problem with her since the end of season 1.

She had no problem murdering 400+ minute men in violent and torturous ways (she even enjoyed doing it, and still takes pride in it), despite the fact that she knew they were innocent people brainwashed and forced to work for the TVA. She had no problem sitting back and letting the infinite number of Kangs come, even though it was inevitable that lots of innocent people would be killed by them. As long as she didn’t have to do the work to prepare for it, she was fine with that risk. Loki tried to tell her multiple times, in multiple instances, that the TVA falling apart would cause branched timelines to be destroyed and all the people on them to die, but she ignored him and didn’t believe him and refused to do anything to help over and over and over until that very thing ended up happening. As a matter of fact, she never cared at all until it effected her timeline. Then she immediately was like “there must be something we can do!!”

Anyway….. I just think it’s annoying how some people act like she’s the pro-life (not that kind of pro-life) voice of reason in all this. She’s extremely selfish (yes, more so than Loki) and perfectly willing to let innocent people die if it means she gets to keep relaxing on her branch. Much like Brad. And you know what? That doesn’t make her a villain! There’s nothing wrong with wanting a life away from the organisation that ruined your old one. But I wish folks would stop saying she was right. Cause.. no, bestie, she was not. Lol.

When Loki hit rock bottom and was at a loss as to what he needed to do in favour of the impossible task he was set out to rectify he went to the only person he knew would show him the way. Mobius's wise counsel was all Loki needed to pinpoint and strengthen the firmness of his glorious purpose. This is one of the most special memories that'll be etched on Loki's heart for all eternity.

Just some thoughts I have, immediately after viewing ep 6.

spoilers! oh my god, oh my god! I´m honestly relieved! Can you believe it??? I´m SO GLAD endindg didn´t ruin the show! Quite the opposite, actually! I think that with the context of this ending, they actually made season 1 much BETTER. which is like... complete surprise for me! What the hell???? I seriously didn´t expect that! AT ALL! 🤯 It was funny, It was clever, it was epic, and absolutely heartbreaking 🥺😭 Ouroboros, Casey, Timely, and Sylvie... they all survived, and can live they lives however they choose! O. B. making the sequel of his bestseller is the best thing ever! And he has friends now!!! My precious boy!!! Good for him! He deserves it! And Loki and Mobius both survived as well THANK GOD!!!! And they still remember each other! (I was prepared for much worse scenarios, to be honest.)

Anyway, I´m sucker, for bitter sweet endings. So I´m FINE. ....except I´m not.

Because It´s so fucking tragic at the same time!!! God, what a love story! (what isn´t denied is allowed, so... ) they ended it with two of them, alone. Mobius isn´t actually getting back to his boys, because they already have Don. But he didn´t want to stay at TVA because Loki is not there anymore.

Last few shots are Mobius, just standing there, watching life he can´t have and for the first time he is free to wonder around the world on his own. he´s able to WASTE HIS TIME now. And then we see right after Loki, stuck on his throne, alone. And it is implied that he was able to hear Mobius (or see him, even!) And he looks lonely, but also happy for his man!!! GOSH. I was crying like a baby. whole sequence from that scene in a theatre room right until the end! And that freaking music!!! I only have one complaint, and that being: we should see Mobius actually enjoy some JETSKI! Or even better: last shots should have been Mobius happily steering a jet ski on the open sea (wind in the hair and all) AND then Loki on his throne with a smile on his face (because he´s watching him). Last thing: there is actually so much potential, after this finale. If not for actual Marvel project, then for fanfiction writers and for imagination. They left so much room for the good stuff! 😍 For example:

Mobius struggling to addapt to normal life on a timeline. And then he somehow finds out, Loki can see him/ hear him. And he will starts talking to him. And because Loki is so alone and unable to go anywhere, this starts to be his source of fun. Something that makes him happy. And he finds way, to talk to Mobius back somehow... or

Loki will find out that he can travel to his past selfs without having to leave his throne. He stays there, but his mind can travel to his body at any point before.

I am actually mad, I have no time to write fanfics right know (but hey, my english is totally tragic and terrible, so it´s probably a good thing 😅)

Anyway. I feel sad, and also happy. And inspired and satisfied. And I´m still sobbing. All at once! It was beautiful, and I enjoyed every second of it! Can´t remember last time marvel actually managed to do that to me.

*standing ovation* I applaud to creators, actors and everyone involved. You guys did a fenomenal job! (at least that is how I see it)

WARNINGS: Captain America wouldn't approve the language

SUMMARY: Loki meets sombody at the TVA he once knew. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to remember him.

To solve the chaos that had erupted at the TVA and set everything right before it collapsed, a series of answers were needed, none of which anyone present had; therefore, while Loki and Mobius were busy trying to find X-5 and consequently Sylvie, Lydia was tasked with finding Renslayer and Miss Minutes. A burden that had come along with her promotion to analyst.

"We haven't found any trace of Renslayer's tempad," Lydia approached briskly, accompanied by Casey and B-15, to Mobius's desk where he and Loki were busy with X-5's tempad, "but we traced the recipient of her last message: Miss Minutes."

"Moreover, Renslayer and He Who Remains are in cahoots," Loki nodded, "I found out while I was in the past."

"What a woman... full of surprises," B-15 scoffed.

"What... are you two doing?" Lydia leaned in close to Loki. Not because she desperately wanted his proximity, especially after believing him dead, partly because of her. Absolutely not. It was to get a better look at the tempad, of course.

"We're trying to figure out how this modified tempad of X-5 works," Loki turned to her, and Lydia could hear his breath with every syllable he uttered. Not that it affected her.

"A man accustomed to using 80s technology and an alien god from Asgard?" She asked amusedly, glancing from one to the other.

"Hey, look, we're doing just fine," Mobius retorted.

"No, not really," Casey shook his head.

"I think my team could get better results," she reached out with a smirk, her hand open towards Loki, who exchanged a glance with Mobius before handing the tempad over to Lydia.

"Also, I'd like to be present when you question X-5" She passed the object to Casey.

"What?" Mobius spread his arms.

"He might have relevant information about the Minus/Renslayer issue, which is my case."

"Our case" B-15 emphasized.

"Sure" Lydia rolled her eyes, and Loki shot her a glance, amused at how she was turning work into a personal competition with Mobius, "anyway, it's a request you can't refuse, Mobius," she smiled, "it would be unprofessional."

Mobius rolled his eyes, "Am I ever going to get rid of you? How do you manage to worm your way in everywhere?"

"I'm very flexible."

Loki's imagination projected a couple of images of how flexible Lydia could be, but he pushed them back before anyone could notice.

"Bred is an asshole, so don't let him provoke you," Mobius had said, but it was very difficult. And Loki had just offered the opportunity to sting by saying his help was needed because there were "lives at stake."

"Lives at stake," Brad repeated. "You've got a lot of nerve... everyone here knows what you're doing, you're just trying to make up for all the terrible and horrible things you've done in life. You're pathetic."

Lydia clenched her jaw but didn't speak. Provocation, it was just provocation.

"I've read your file. You're the problem. Every time we've found one of you. You think you're special, but you're not. No matter what you wear or what lies you tell, in the end, all you do is destroy those around you," Brad glanced towards Lydia. She just looked at him with disgust before glancing at Loki, who kept his low.

"As it happened with your mother."

Lydia snapped.

"You ugly piece of shit," she managed only to take a step towards him before Loki blocked her with his body.

"You know that's what he wants," he said into her ear, "don't let him win." Lydia shifted her gaze to him and took a deep breath, trying to internalize all the calmness his blue irises conveyed.

"Don't listen to him, Princhett," Brad jeered, drawing her attention again, "what does he know about victories when all he can do is losing?"

Loki grabbed her chin, bringing her eyes back to him. Lydia swallowed and nodded slightly. She could handle it, she was fine. She was a professional.

"Stop trying to be a hero, buddy. You're a villain, and you're good at it."

Loki let her go, turning back to Brad.

"Thanks, Brad.” Loki let out a bitter laugh “Thanks a lot. I'm very touched. You're right. I've done terrible and horrible things," Lydia clenched her jaw again, to contain herself, "Yes, maybe that's who I am, they know it well. It's the real me... a loser," he smiled bitterly "I always have been and always will be."

Lydia glanced from him to Brad, trying to understand Loki's strategy.

"And perhaps I was... holding back something," he dangerously approached Brad, "maybe I was just waiting for the right moment, a moment like this, to do terrible and horrible things," he looked down at Brad, "to you."

Lydia hoped he would punch him. She really wanted to see that smug bastard's face distorted. No, it wasn't professional, but it was fair.

"So I'll ask you again: where is Sylvie?" He stressed her name.

"You're too fixated on her," Brad sneered.

"Okay, that's enough," Mobius grabbed Loki by the shoulder, pulling him towards Lydia who approached him, putting a hand on his arm. Not to stop him but to let him know she understood the discomfort he felt.

"You need a psychologist," Brad sneered, watching the scene, "I know one who does couples therapy, or maybe group therapy would be better since there are three of you."

She could have killed him. How much would it cost her? She was dead in the sacred timeline, and the TVA was about to collapse, she had nothing to lose.

"There's too much tension here," Mobius tried to lighten the mood, "Brad, cooperate with us, and we'll send you back to your beloved timeline, as if nothing ever happened. What do you say?" he offered with a smile.

"Would you?"

"Of course, I promise."

Brad let out a fake sigh before bursting into laughter, "Did you see? Damn Mobius, you should be an actor."

"I'm not, I'm an analyst."

"No, you're not!" Brad blurted out, "You're not an analyst because none of this is real. Do you know who you are at least in the timeline? The TVA isn't your real home. Do you have any idea who you've left behind? What your life could be like? You know they've taken our lives, you need to wake up."

"I'm awake."

"No, you need to wake up."

"I'm awake," Mobius repeated, this time more annoyed.

"You're asleep until you wake up, you're nothing. I'm nothing. She's nothing. I don't even know where to start," he looked at Loki, "You're nothing, and until you wake up, you're nonexistent, you're-"

Mobius jumped on him, with a speed Lydia could never have predicted, punching him square in the face.

"It's you who's nothing!"

Loki grabbed him by the shoulder, pulling him away as Mobius continued to curse.

“You heard me? You’re nothing”

Lydia followed them out, letting B-15 close the door behind them.

Mobius walked away from the room quickly, still swearing about how Brad was, in short, an asshole.

"Is he okay?" Lydia looked up at Loki who shook his head, sighing.

"I'll go see. I'll update you later; I need to ask you some things."

Shit.

Lydia nodded, smiling in his direction, before Loki ran after Mobius.

Lydia spent the whole afternoon at the desk, unable to work, spending hours tapping the pencil on the wood. Her head kept reminding her of how Loki had tackled her with his body. They had never been so close. They had never touched so much.

Then he had approached Brad, and the tension she had sensed before had only increased when Loki had donned the villain's mask. Could it be true that she, the one of the sacred timeline, had really fallen in love with him, as Loki had claimed? Lydia shook her head, what she had seen in the footage was a confused, delirious, and fragile Loki, while the one she had seen a little earlier exuded power.

And then there was what Brad had said. "There’s three of you."

She wasn't in anything, not with Loki and least of all with Sylvie. And even if this absurd triangle were real, was Lydia the other woman? No, it was unfair. She had known Loki first, and then he had declared himself to her, sort of. And she had rejected him... more or less. Well, not really, she had rejected the him from the past. But she had, in fact, insulted the present him.

And if this particular interest in Loki was only due to the fact that he had distanced himself? That his focuns was on someone else? Was it possible that she was that toxic?

Her brain was exploding, and after a while, her eyelids began to droop, and Lydia decided to give up, burying her head between her arms on the desk.

When he arrived, Loki found her still asleep.

He smiled, his expression softening. Lately, Lydia had returned to having a scowling expression, always serious, like the Lydia he had known on Earth, while asleep she seemed to radiate so much tranquility and peace. Maybe it was really him making everything worse, ruining everyone's lives.

Loki reached out, caressing her head, and Lydia jerked awake, opening her eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."

Lydia blinked for a moment, focusing on him.

"Don't worry, I wasn't sleeping," she yawned.

"No?"

"I was resting."

A chuckle escaped Loki, disappearing immediately, leaving a sad expression on his face.

"Are you okay?".

"I was thinking about Brad's words," he leaned against Lydia's desk, supporting himself with his hands, "when I met you here at the TVA, your life was going smoothly, and the same was on Earth, before I met you-"

"Loki," Lydia put a hand on his, "you shouldn't give weight to what Brad said; he was trying to provoke us. He knows our stories and what can hurt us, and he uses it to his advantage."

Loki covered her hand with his other one and looked at her, smiling faintly. With Lydia, he felt like he had someone on his side, not alone, but he had felt this before, and in the end, it had been just a deception.

"How did you know... about my mother?"

Shit. She knew that question was coming. The horrible put-down Brad had said to Loki, she was not supposed to understand what it was referred to.

Lydia widened her eyes, withdrew her hand from Loki's, clutching it with the other and lowering her gaze.

"When I thought you were dead, I felt very guilty and... well, you could say I missed you... I wanted to see you, and the only thing I had of yours was the file," her cheeks colored slightly red, and if she had raised her gaze, she would have seen the same embarrassed expression on Loki's face, "I know it was a terrible invasion of your privacy... I’m sorry about that" she timidly raised her eyes towards him.

"It's okay" Loki shook his head, "in fact, maybe I'm glad... that you've seen the real me."

"There's no real you, Loki. There's only you, here and now. Ignore Brad, please, he's just an asshole, one who looks through the keyhole, sees brown, and thinks it's chocolate when it's just shit."

He laughed, nodding.

"By the way, any news? How's Mobius?"

"He's okay, for now... I think," Loki swallowed, "as for Brad, he confessed to knowing where Sylvie is."

Lydia clenched her jaw, nodding.

"We need her, Lydia. When I was in the future, I saw the TVA collapsing, and she was there. She must know something" he leaned towards her.

"I didn't say anything" she vaguely said, keeping her gaze low.

"I know you didn't exactly start off on the right foot, you two, but there's no room for likes or dislikes here."

"Where is she?" Lydia looked up at him.

"In a McDonald's in Oklahoma, on Earth," Loki paused for a moment, "Do you want to come?"

"I don't think I'd be very useful" Lydia shook her head, "but I have a request."

"Anything."

They looked at each other for a second that seemed endless and yet too short.

"A milkshake" she said after a moment, "strawberry flavored."

"I think I can do that."

But when Loki appeared in the control room upon later that day, he didn't have any disgustingly sweet strawberry milkshake; instead, he brought something much more indigestible for Lydia. Sylvie.

How do you think Mobius will live his life in the timeline? Many theorize that something happens to Don and Mobius takes his identity so his sons live with a father. I prefer that Mobius reflects on his old life, realizes he can’t live it, and creates his own life.

Oh, boy, Anon. I have a lot of fanfic ideas for this, but let's get into the meta-analysis side of this before we get into the rabbit hole that is my washer-dryer machine of an imagination.

Mobius is not doing well. He is going through the stages of grief. I've written an extensive meta here regarding the darker aspects of his character and how he's at risk by the end of the series. I also wrote a brief meta here regarding how his grief might manifest.

With this in mind, I actively HATE the idea of Mobius spiraling to the point he becomes "corrupted". I don't what Michael Waldron did to Wanda. I guess you could make the argument that it would be interesting to see a man emotionally unravel in such a way, but I hold Mobius's unshakable kindness dear in my heart. I don't ever want him to lose it because it is essentially his superpower.

[Sidebar: comics canon House of M notwithstanding; Marvel and DC comics canon are consistently horrible in their characterization of exceptionally powerful women: Wanda Maximoff Jean Grey/Phoenix; Carol Danvers/then Ms. Marvel; Rogue; on and on; I'll throw Sylvie in here, too, because why not, it's true.]

I see Mobius mourning Loki for two years. Two years because, statistically, that is how long it takes for most people who've lost an intimate loved one to get out of clinical depression. During this period, I see him losing weight, wandering aimlessly between timelines, trying and failing to copy Don's life by taking a job that involves jet skis or aquatics more generally. B-15 would make a point to check-in on him and know he's not doing well, but Mobius, because he does not want anyone to worry about him, because he is used to being the person who keeps people together, insists he's fine.

MY FANFIC IDEA

I see Mobius eventually recognizing he needs a therapist, which he will find ironic and deeply troubling, but he's not about to give up on trying to live for Loki's sake.

And in his conversations with his therapist and B-15, Mobius will come to realize that he can still use his key strengths outside of the TVA: analyzing people, deconstructing what makes them tick, using that knowledge to help the other person, similar to a therapist but more active in support. Mobius is very well-suited to become a social worker of troubled and at-risk youth. I think he should pursue this and ...

Mobius will choose a branched timeline in the late 90s/early 2000s. There, he will meet a war-orphaned, thirteen year-old Wanda Maximoff, who is friendless and struggling to understand the nature of her powers (magic). Mobius is drawn to her right away. It takes time, but he eventually gains Wanda's trust.

Red. Red is Wanda's color. It's in her hair, her cheeks, her magic. Now that red reaches Wanda's eyes, filled with tears her anger stoppers. "You saw what I can do. What I did. The other kids call me a 'witch' 'cause that's what I am. A witch. A monster."

Mobius sits next to the young girl on the stoop. The sun winks at them through the green tree boughs, and he wonders, for a moment, what Loki might think of him now, finding solace in a child who needs solace.

"That's not true. You're not a monster, but I tell you what: witches are pretty cool." Mobius grins, knocking his knee against hers. The fabric of his slacks shakes, still too loose. "Y'know, my best friend has magic just like yours, except it's green instead of red."

Wanda peers at him, hopeful and dubious. "Really?"

"Yup. He had a tough time, too, being different." He leans closer to her, sharing a secret. "But things got better. You should've seen him. He was--is-- magnificent. You're magnificent."

Her lips purse into an embarrassed smile. She drops her head, thoughtful, and tucks her hands beneath the fold of her knees. "Where is he now? Do you still see him?"

The question is innocent, as all things are with a soul of thirteen. She doesn't mean to hurt him. Mobius knows this. So he takes the thorn of her words and presses it against his ribcage. His throat works. The ache comes and goes but never fully abates.

"Well," Mobius sighs. "He had to move on. Life is like that sometimes. People come and go. Things happen and ... there's not much you can do except hope they're okay. That they're happy and safe."

He can't look up. Not at the tree or the sun. He worries if he does, he'll start to cry, and that won't do when this girl who reminds him so much of his wily god has finally cracked a smile.

"C'mon," he says, rising to his feet. "Let's get you something to eat."

"McDonald's?" Wanda brightens.

Another thorn. He takes that one too and thinks of pretty roses.

"Whatever you want, kiddo."

I think it's a really fascinating and underused thing we know about Mobius M. Mobius that he's jealous.

Not everyone gets jealous, and especially not over the affairs of people who they don't genuinely have an exclusive relationship with, but we have it from Owen Wilson's own mouth that when Mobius found out about the Nexus Event on Lamentis, he was jealous.

He saw Loki with someone else, someone he didn't really know, but who had escaped him for Kang-knows-how-long. Someone Mobius could easily feel is superior to him, since he hasn't been able to catch her, and it was his jealousy that made him so angry and disgusted with Loki.

I think that's a very underrated trait about Mobius. It's clear from the start that Mobius immediately starts seeing this Loki, Variant L1130, as his Loki. Not another one of the endless torrents of variant Lokis, but the one he considers unique, even though he shouldn't. Obviously, Sacred Timeline Loki is meant to be the unique one, and the variants are just wrong versions of that. But not to Mobius. He sees Loki L1130 and stops referring to him as a variant to anyone involved, including B-15 and Judge Renslayer.

He has accepted that Loki is special, and even when Loki fucks him around, he goes to bat for this variant. He's jealous of the woman that made Loki throw away their partnership, even if it was (officially) just a work partnership.

So when he's talking to Loki in The Nexus Event and mocking him for his attachment to Sylvie, it isn't truly coming from a place of horror or disgust. Mobius feels jealous and betrayed, and he wants to make Loki see things that way too. He wants Loki to see his relationship with Sylvie as egotistical or narcissistic or disgusting (I'm not having that debate so don't start it on this post), and for Loki to realise he was better off with Mobius. I'm sure, if that had happened, Mobius would have done everything to spin it to Renslayer that Loki helped bring down Sylvie, not that he escaped with her, and that they should consider making Loki a genuine agent. Given what we know about the TVA Agents, although Mobius wouldn't know it, that is clearly not unheard of.

When Loki rebuffed him, defending Sylvie to the end and refusing to go along with what Mobius said, it's important to note that they did not need Loki to break Sylvie. Mobius claimed they did, but if Loki wasn't going to help them do that, the correct response would have been to tell Renslayer he was useless and have him pruned. Mobius didn't do that. He stuck him in the Time Loop and hoped that would soften Loki up. He hoped, I would imagine, that spending hours having Sif tear down his self-esteem, even after he managed to change the loop, might make Loki realise who truly valued him. It was a cruel play, but I think it could have worked, had Loki not gotten into his head, first.

All of this to say that Mobius is jealous, and you should definitely use that in art and stories.
