The face you make when your best friend sings a song about how the woman who killed your gf is actually his ex wife:

Hello :) I'm not sure if this is still relevant, but yesterday I was looking for fanarts on the Soviet musketeer and yours are the best. And yes, their Aramis is also my favorite! I would like more people to see this adaptation. Thank you, it has made my day a little better.
Oh hi! The Musketeers are always relevant to me as I often go back to my old fandoms for inspiration. 😁
Thank you so much! I must add that the best Soviet musketeer fanarts can be found on VK (I've seen some gorgeous Starygin!Aramis portraits there). Sigh, I love Aramis so much, I swear I'll learn his song by heart one day.
Many of my tumblr friends have seen this adaptation but most of them are Russian so it makes sense lol. But seriously, people *should* see this version, honestly it's the best adaptation there is, the most faithful to the book. And it's also very heart-warming that the actors stayed friends for years after the filming.
I'm really glad my art made your day, Один за всех, и все за одного. 😄

70 YEARS OLD is howmst old Mikhail Boyarsky is turning today, so let’s drool over this boy for a wee while on such occasion.
Obviously in our vast world of Sherlock Holmes, he is the most incredible Lestrade of them all. A character so simple yet so nuanced, also a sentence so deep yet so pretentious, but literally watch the series and you know exactly what I’m talking about: nrh’s Lestrade is legit THE most interesting, original and thoughtful take I have ever seen on the character, and why does it work so well? Because of this dude right here. The level of acting mastery Boyarsky can deliver absolutely stunned me back then and never let go since, and I’m forever grateful nrh exists if it was just for that opportunity to show how great of an actor Boyarsky really is.
Besides nrh, he is, obviously, forever famous for works no less incredible and far more popular such as the musketeers, mama, cartoons, a crapton of musicals, all of them incredible and distributed so wildly that he managed to be a part of my cinematic preferences at every stage of my life ever since I was old enough to stare at the telly. I’m happy for all the memories he left as the Wolf from mama when I was a kid, happy for the bangers I got to listen in the musketeers in my late childhood, I can go on for dramatic effect but honestly the vast contribution to my happy days Boyarsky has made is something else entirely, my dudes, which is one of the reasons why I’m willing to write a giant wall of text about him today.
Surprise-surprise, he is also a singer, and his songs were played on the radio literally two days ago in a taxi when I arrived home to Russia. Musicals, his own stuff that I also listen to, he’s one of those rare singers who can cover Vysotsky which is a whole ass feat on its own, and plus, the memes. Summer Without You, Kojima: im so so glad this fucking exists
youtube
And finally and most importantly, who Boyarsky is a person: an incredibly faithful family man, an obsessed grandad, a wild Zenit fan forever, a man who has fully embraced the meme burden of being forever D’Artagnan in everyone’s eyes, a man who once went to a parody show to parody his own self. He is deeply tired and apathetic of most things today, but paradoxically still continues to be full of life, fun and dedication to his family.
Happy birthday, the first actor in our embarrassing soviet spree who was cursed with the nickname The Boy, keep the energy that makes it all worth it

D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, USSR, 1979
I remember this from Bulgarian TV in my early childhood. Looking at a few scenes now that I’m 34, I still think it’s still my favourite adaptation of Dumas’s novel. Top actors, sportsmen/stuntsmen, choreographers, cinematographers, singers and songwriters of the Union were involved in this, the songs were great, and as you can see from this clip, the stunts are unbelievable.
Porthos has inhuman powers. He pushes a horse and it falls, along with its rider. People fall off horses while the horses are galloping. Mikhail Boyarsky, who plays d’Artagnan, is bursting with energy, confident on his horse, and sings his character’s songs.
