Just watched episode 34 of Healin Good Pretty Cure.
The episode begins with Chiyuโs friends and family cheering her on at a sports event, with Chiyu successfully managing to win the high jump for her school. One of her opponents, Tsubasa Takami, congratulates her on her win, and tells her theyโll compete again in the World Games, to Chiyuโs surprise.
The next day, Chiyu is approached by Michio Masuko, who wants do an interview with her, as well as a group of fangirls. While being interviewed by Michio, Chiyu is approached by someone from a magazine who also wants to interview her, alongside Tsubasa from the other school. All of this leaves Chiyu thinking, as she admits to her friends that she never really intended to go as far as the World Games.
During the interview, Chiyu and Tsubasa both talk about what first got them interested in high jump, and the two initially get along, finding they have some things in common. While the two are getting changed after the interview, Tsubasa talks about how sheโll be going abroad soon due to her parents job, and that the previous tournament was her last one in Japan. She states she looks forward to facing Chiyu again in the World Games, but Chiyu admits she never really planned on taking it that far.
Tsubasa is disappointed, telling Chiyu how losing to her had made her practice harder and how seriously sheโs taking this all. She walks out, informing Chiyu that sheโs already beaten her record, and angrily tells Chiyu that she can just keep doing it for fun. Later on, Chiyuโs friends notice something is bothering her. Chiyu explains what happened, but that even though she never aimed for the World Games, sheโs still taking it seriously. Nodoka and the others reassure her that itโs fine to just keep doing it her own way.
In the villainsโ realm, King Byogen comments on how all the Tera-Byogens now have stronger powers, and wonders who will take the next step. Wanting to impress him, Shindoine heads out.
At school, Chiyu prepares for another high jump, telling her classmates to set the baton five centimeters higher than they initially suggested. Nodoka and the others find Chiyu practicing hard, Nodoka noting that while Chiyu seems to be pushing herself, she also seems to be having fun. Chiyu eventually manages to make the jump while thinking about Tsubasa, and afterwards, runs off to go find her.
Chiyu arrives at Tsubasaโs school, only to find that sheโs already left. Hoping to catch her before she leaves for abroad, Chiyu thinks she might have stopped by the stadium and heads there, Nodoka and Hinata struggling to keep up with her.
At the stadium, Tsubasa has stopped by for one last look at the place, but Shindoine comes across her, and decides to use her determination for her own purposes. Near the stadium, Latte detects the new Giga-Byogen, and Chiyu suspects that Tsubasa might be in trouble. The girls transform and head into the stadium, where Cure Fontaine does the Cure Scan to confirm her suspicions.
The Cures fight the bouncing Giga-Byogen, during which Cure Fontaine gets into a fight with Shindoine. Shindoine questions why Cure Fontaine would want to rescue a rival of hers, since as far as Shindoine is concerned, sheโd have a bigger advantage if the rival was removed. Cure Fontaine however disagrees, telling her that Tsubasa inspired her to push herself to reach new heights.
Cure Fontaine manages to jump higher than the monster, and uses her Rain Element bottle to knock it to the ground. Shindoine tries to attack Cure Fontaine, but Cure Earth manages to stop her by blowing Shindoine away with the Air Element bottle. The Cures use their group attack to purify the Giga-Byogen, and Shindoine retreats.
Chiyu checks up on Tsubasa, who apologizes for what she said to Chiyu last time she saw her after regaining consciousness. Chiyu however tells Tsubasa how sheโs inspired her to aim for new heights, and promises to face off against her in the World Games. The episode ends with Chiyu practicing back at school.
Another good episode! Chiyu found herself a new rival, and has decided to take her high jump to another level. I liked the flashback with Chiyuโs father helping her practice jumping higher when she was younger, and it was nice seeing Michio again. Itโs been a while since he last showed up. Also, surprised they didnโt update the opening with the Tera-Byogensโ new forms. I suppose it could still happen later, but maybe they wonโt be doing that.
Iโll be looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Just watched episode 7 of Healin Good Pretty Cure.
At school, Nodoka is getting the feeling that somebody is watching her. Chiyu confirms her suspicions, noting that someone has been following the three of them since yesterday.
In the Bjogenโs realm, the bad guys are having another argument, before Guaiwaru decides to head out to infect the world some more.
At school, Chiyu has the other two girls ignore the person following them until they can lure him into a classroom and confront him there. The person following them turns out to be Michio Masuko, a member of the schoolโs newspaper club. In fact, heโs currently the only member of the newspaper club. After introducing himself, he admits that he was indeed following Nodoka, getting the impression that thereโs a big scoop to be found.
When he starts explaining that heโs noticed that the monster sightings started around the time Nodoka moved to town, the girls briefly worry that heโs suspecting her of being a Pretty Cure, before he reveals his deduction that Nodoka might be summoning the monsters. Nodoka of course insists thatโs not the case, but Michio says that whether thatโs true or not, he will figure out what the connection is.
At Nodokaโs place, the girls and the Healing Animals discuss the situation. Hinata suggests they just tell Michio the truth so he wonโt accuse Nodoka of wrong-doing, but Rabirin reminds them they canโt let anyone discover the truth about the Pretty Cure. Nodoka asks what would happen, and Rabirin admits sheโs not actually what consequences would follow, since such a scenario has never actually happened before. Nodoka suggests that Chiyu and Hinata just try to avoid her for a while, since Nodoka is the one Michio is investigating.
The girls give it a try, avoiding spending time together while Michio is around to watch them. Later, as Nodoka is heading home, Chiyu decides to keep Michioโs attention away by trying to break a new school record at the high jumping, giving Nodoka some time to get a head start. When Michio starts catching up to her, Hinata also provides a distraction to by suggesting an article on the latest fashions for the newspaper, allowing Nodoka to get away.
Later on, Nodoka is taking a walk with Latte, when she realizes Michio is following her again. She tries to outrun him, only to trip and fall. Michio runs over to see if sheโs okay, and helps her back on her feet. He apologizes to her for getting so caught up in his investigation that he didnโt even consider how she might feel about being chased around like this. He tells her how he once saw a spiderweb after rainfall, and how the beauty of the raindrops caught in it in the light of the sun inspired him to write his first article. After his teachers complimented the article, he continued to seek out more stories, but admits that his tendency to get absorbed in his research tends to annoy others and thatโs why heโs the only member of the newspaper club. Nodoka tells him that she doesnโt think getting absorbed in what interests him is a bad thing, and says she thinks the article he wrote about the spiderweb back then mustโve been lovely.
As it rains later on, Nodoka notes that once it stops, sheโd like to go out and take a look at a spiderweb herself. Turns out Michio had the same idea, going out to admire a web once the rain stops. Of course, thatโs when Guaiwaru shows up and infects a Rain Element on a dew drop to create a monster.
Chiyu and Hinata show up at Nodokaโs place to visit her, when Latte falls ill and alerts them to the situation. Meanwhile, Michio goes to investigate the monster, and notes that Nodoka isnโt anywhere nearby, realizing his conclusion may have been wrong after all. He runs up for an interview, and Guaiwaru briefly considers accepting, before realizing Michio was actually trying to get an interview with the monster, catching both him and the monster off-guard. Guaiwaru is annoyed and knocks Michio aside, knocking off his glasses in the progress.
While he attempts to find his glasses in the greenery, Nodoka and the others show up and transform to fight the monster. While Michio canโt see whatโs happening, he does hear enough to get the idea of what is going on. Cure Sparkle scans the monster, and Cure Grace uses an attack with the Harvest Element bottle to weaken the monster before purifying the Rain Element, which allows Latte to recover.
Michio manages to find his glasses, only to discover that the fight is over by that time. The girls to check on the Rain Element, before Michio notices them. He apologizes to Nodoka for suspecting her of summoning the monsters, having realized that wasnโt the case. Nodoka holds no hard feelings against him, and he tells them of his latest discovery, that a mysterious group of girls called the Pretty Cure were fighting the monster. He also notes that in the end, he did discover Nodokaโs secret: Even though she and the other girls were acting distant at school, theyโre actually good friends. He notes that this isnโt really a story, and runs off to begin working on his story about what he discovered about the Pretty Cure. The episode ends with Nodoka admiring a spiderweb.
Another good episode! So now we have Michio Masuko, who is sort of a male counterpart to characters like Mika from Yes! Pretty Cure 5 and Miyo from Happiness Charge Pretty Cure. Heโs pretty funny, I hope heโll be a recurring character from this point on. I also really liked the scene where he talks to Nodoka about what inspired him to get into journalism.
Iโll be looking forward to the next episode!

Just watched episode 8 of Healin Good Pretty Cure.
Chiyu is preparing for an upcoming tournament with the track and field team, with Nodoka and Hinata looking on in admiration. However, Michio Masuko notes that winning the tournament may not be that easy, as heโs been doing some research on their rivals and discovered that one of them has already beaten Chiyuโs personal best. Nodoka and Hinata initially try to keep this information from Chiyu, but Hinata ends up accidentally blurting it out anyways.
Chiyu examines Michioโs pictures, and notes that she wonโt let it get to her. After all, in track and field, she is her own rival. However, even so, she fails at her next attempt at the high jump.
The next day, Nodoka decides to join Chiyu for her daily run, with Hinata having the same idea. The three go running on the beach, with Chiyu explaining how running through sand allows her to use different muscles than when just running on regular terrain. She tells them of how she got inspired to get into track and field and the high jump, from a moment when she was out swimming when she was little and felt like the sky and ocean got closer together, leaving her wanting to try and reach the sky. Chiyu thanks the girls for being there for her, but at school, she still has trouble with the high jump.
The next day, Pegitan suggests Chiyu take a break since itโs Sunday, but Chiyu insists on heading out to get some more training done. Concerned for Chiyu, Pegitan decides to do some research to find out what might be affecting her performance. Afterwards, he decides to go find help, first seeking out Rabirin, only to find that Nodoka and Hinata have gone out shopping.
He is initially annoyed that the two girls would go out to have fun at a time like this, but when he gets to Hinataโs place, he discovers that the two were getting the materials to make a banner to cheer Chiyu on. He tells them of his concerns and asks why they didnโt try to talk her out of practicing today. The two of them reveal they actually didย talk to her about it, but Chiyu insisted that she keep practicing, and they dropped the subject after that. Nodoka admits sheโs not entirely sure what the right action to take is, but at least they can try to cheer their friend on. Pegitan notes that Nyatoran got one of the characters on the banner wrong, and the girls try to fix it.
The next day, the other two Cures and Pegitan cheer Chiyu on, which gets her motivated to try to make the jump. However, before she can do so, Daruizen creates a Mega-Bjogen that scares away the audience and other track and field team members. Chiyu is angry that he would ruin the tournament they all trained so hard for, and she and the other Cures transform to fight the monster.
Created from an Ice Element in a cooler, the monster begins freezing the area. Cure Grace manages to scan the monster and locate the Ice Element, but the monster soon starts creating a barrier of ice around itself, preventing the Cures from attacking. However, Cure Fontaine tells the other two Cures to distract the monster, giving herself the oppurtunity to jump over the ice barrier and attack the monster from above, using her Healing Stream to purify it.
After the battle is over, the girls check in on the Ice Element, who gives Chiyu the Ice Element Bottle to heal Latte. The girls note that the tournament basically got ruined, but Chiyu still tries to do a high jump, finally managing to get over her slump and do the jump perfectly. She thanks Pegitan and the other girls for encouraging her. Looking at the sky, Chiyu vows to continue trying to reach new heights.
Another pretty good episode, giving us some more focus on Chiyu. I really like the friendship between the Cures so far, as well as Chiyuโs bond with Pegitan. I guess Pegitan basically got to return the favor from when Chiyu encouraged him when he was still feeling down due to not having found a partner yet. I also like the way Nodoka admires Chiyu, and how we see Nodoka also making an effort to work out every day.
Iโll be looking forward to the next episode!
