i feel like if talia and dick ever sat down to have a conversation and he opened up about his relationship with kori and what went wrong she would have him running back to kori within days. like bc of her focus on love as an all-saving mechanism and her inner therapy mom instinct. idk i could picture it going something like this
“.....he cups my face in his hands and he kisses me so deeply that I don’t know who is breathing for who, but his mouth and tongue taste like warm honey. I don’t know how long it lasts, but when I let go of him, I miss it already.”
Taking a quick break from all the Manorian content to recommend this series. I’ve read it a couple of times but it’s been a while so a lot of it feels new this time around. There’s angst, slow burns (Lucian and Phaedra dear lord 🥵), politics, surviving after trauma, squabbling families, and magical curses. Lots of curses.
I look at the faces of the girls around me and wonder who would look that grief-stricken for half of them. If something happened to me, whose face will be on the front page of the paper begging for me? Is a person worth more because they have someone to grieve for them?
Seeing as Marchetta has written three books for Frankie and the gang, three books in the Lumatere Chronicles, I hope she'd write something more for the Jellicoe kids. It's just, reading her books always feels like coming home and meeting old friends. I miss the Jellicoe kids and I wanna know what they get up post book.
