RAGE (2011, id Software)
These are from when I played the game on a laptop in 2012.
At some point I should reinstall, do some new higher quality screenshots, and actually force myself to finally beat it, but I always burn out around the middle.
Also setting up this game gives me a migraine.

My taste in music in 20 albums
On Instagram I was challenged by @piahinckle to choose 20 albums that greatly influenced my taste in music. One album per day, for 20 consecutive days. No explanations (mostly), no reviews, just cover images on my Instagram @rialdrummer.
Proceeding from the first posting on December 11.
Max Roach and the M’Boom ensemble “Re: Percussion” the album is sometimes called. I heard this in the early ‘80s at a time I was getting interested in the history of jazz and particularly jazz drummers. Had the good fortune to see Max’s quartet (Cecil Bridgewater, Odean Pope, Tyrone Brown) at the old Yoshi’s, around the time of the “Scott Free” album.  This M’Boom record planted a seed for my later musical explorations in the ‘90s and started an appreciation for me of Max Roach as bandleader and conceptualist. I’d already heard some of his work with Charlie Parker. A decade later my band was covering “Morning / Midday” and “Jamaican Sun” by this group and I was email pals with Omar Clay’s partner.
The Mamas and the Papas “A Gathering Of Flowers”.  On the turntable constantly during my late high school years. Released between the ’68 breakup and the ’71 reunion. Interviews on the record with Cass and John hint at the glories and disappointments felt in the group.
Van Morrison “Tupelo Honey”. Great songs, ace band. The title track is really a classic (Cassandra Wilson’s cover is further evidence). Gary Mallaber (vibes) and Ronnie Montrose (guitar) stand out to me.
Family “Fearless”. United Artists was a label that took chances on musical artistry and signing Family was a commercial risk.  I found this album in 1973 in a cutout bin and it had only been out for 18 months.  The album is in turns gritty and pretty. All songwriting, playing and singing contributions are excellent, with John Wetton playing a key role on guitar, bass and vocals.
Rory Gallagher “Irish Tour ‘74”. Songs burned into memory from my days as a record store clerk and DJ. Most of my friends in the day were Rory fans going back to his band Taste and a few of us saw him at UC Santa Barbara around 1974.  If I had to pick one Rory record…  Watch him on YouTube.
“The Drums”. Prez Records in Santa Rosa was a destination store for me in the ‘80s and I found this used 3-album set for cheap there.  Introduced me to Art Blakey (“Ala Mode” remains a favorite song of mine), Connie Kay playing with Milt Jackson, Dannie Richmond, Paul Motian and many more great tracks.
Iain Matthews “Valley Hi”. Michael Nesmith cut a lot of great sides within and after The Monkees. To my ears almost nothing by him surpasses the achievement of helming this album.  I’ve followed Matthews’s career going back to his brief time in Fairport Convention up to the last decade and I know he’s not crazy about this record but to me it’s absolutely a gem.  Songs by Randy Newman, Jackson Browne, Steve Young (“Seven Bridges Road” before the Eagles recorded it) among others.
Gil Scott-Heron “Pieces Of A Man”. It had to be a long shot that an AM rock station would put “Lady Day and John Coltrane” on their playlist but that’s what KRLA in Pasadena did. And so I heard it and began an appreciation of Gil Scott-Heron that I continue to hold.
Marc Benno “Minnows”. This was another AM radio long shot in 1971 and KRLA won the day again for “Speak Your Mind”. A ballad that ebbs and flows in intensity.  Jim Keltner’s drumming first caught my ear on this song. This was around the time that Benno was playing rhythm guitar with The Doors on the L.A. Woman sessions, and after his collaborations with Leon Russell on the Asylum Choir albums. Many friends of mine also appreciate this album.
Weather Report “Sweetnighter”. Previously unaware of Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul, I saw Weather Report in July of 1973 and “Boogie Woogie Waltz” convinced me that I needed to dig more deeply into this music.
Fairport Convention “What We Did On Our Holidays”. Along with the records that Nick Drake would make a few months later, sums up for me some great years of British “folk rock”.
10cc “Sheet Music”. Between their first two albums this one comes out on top for me. It’s close. I was a fan from the release of “Rubber Bullets”.
Harry Belafonte “Calypso”. “Jamaica Farewell” was likely the first set of song lyrics I memorized. Mum had his playing often in our apartment in the late ‘50s.
Brinsley Schwarz “Nervous On The Road”.  I like this best of the band’s records (it may be because adding Ian Gomm to the band was so complimentary to the talents of Nick Lowe, Brinsley, Bob Andrews and Billy Rankin). For this pick I could have swapped out Dave Edmunds’s “Get It” or the Rockpile album “Seconds of Pleasure” but since the list is supposed to describe how my tastes were influenced it makes sense to refer to early period Brinsley.  Made me a Nick Lowe fan for life.
The Monkees “Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.”.  My introduction to the group. I hadn’t seen the tv show at that time (November and December 1967) at least as far as I recall. Coming at them strictly through these tracks I was impressed by songwriting, production, vocals, guitars and humor.  Not bubblegum, at all.
“Pat Metheny Group” By September 1978 I was being introduced to ECM albums by a friend. I’d enjoyed previous ones but that month when I heard the first notes of “San Lorenzo” something resonated with me that hasn’t stopped.
Graham Parker and the Rumour “Stick To Me”.  This is a rough-and-ready collection produced by Nick Lowe. Drumming by Steve Goulding, guitar leads by Martin Belmont are highlights. The title song, “Soul On Ice”, “Clear Head” are standouts in a great set making this my favorite GP album for all time.
The Gary Burton Quartet with Eberhard Weber “Passengers”.  I think this was probably the beginning of my awareness of Gary Burton’s albums. A great introduction. As a vibes player myself there are major lessons and enjoyment for me throughout his catalog.
Love “Forever Changes”. Surrounded by Love fans in my 20s but not giving the group much time of day then, I locked into the band’s and Arthur Lee’s artistry in my 40s. Like so many people I now appreciate every song on this classic album. Was fortunate to catch the 2003 edition of the band at The Fillmore.
Gene Clark “No Other”. After leaving The Byrds, Clark wrote and recorded many excellent songs showcasing his poetic and melodic gifts. This album is the top of the mountain for me, and public appreciation for the songs and the production have grown greatly in the 50 years since its release. YouTube has video of a tribute tour for the album from a decade ago.
RUNNERS-UP
Elvis Costello and the Attractions “Imperial Bedroom” and “This Year’s Model”
XTC “English Settlement”
Beach Boys “Summer Days (and Summer Nights!)” and “Sunflower”
(Many) Iain Matthews records across the decades, along with titles by his Fairport mates Sandy Denny, Dave Mattacks, Richard Thompson, Ashley Hutchings, Judy Dyble. A nod too to drummer Martin Lamble who had a playing style so well suited to their early records.
Buffalo Springfield “Retrospective”
Carpenters “Ticket to Ride”
Rolling Stones “December’s Children”
The Move “Shazam”
Joni Mitchell “For the Roses”
Bruce Springsteen “The Wild The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle”
Beatles single “Rain” b/w “Paperback Writer”
Man (The Man Band from Wales) "Back Into the Future"

Coming Soon: The Annotated Abbott and Costello
Coming Soon: The Annotated Abbott and Costello
October 2 is the birthday of Bud Abbott, our favorite member of the comedy team of Abbott and Costello. As we have written here a few times, we are fans of the radio and television work of this beloved team, and almost certainly would have loved them in live performance. We also have written approvingly about a certain aspect of their comedy films. But we have been pretty unsparing and harsh in…

You guys should read/listen to both child’s play novelizations, they’re really good. Both are narrated on YouTube and it actually sounds really good apart from the girl playing Kyle sounding like she’s phoning in from the fucking moon. The guy who did chucky’s voice also did a great job, it sounds different but works really well
I also have the PDF downloads for both books since they’re basically impossible to find physically as they’re no longer in print. The author is also really cool, apparently he watches the series and really likes it. He was also a teacher for quite a while and the way he writes from kid Andy’s perspective is really good
I’ll post both of the links to the books here since they’re no longer being printed. I really recommend listening to the narration on YouTube though. Also, there isn’t an official novelization of the first book due to licensing issues 💔

hi! firstly, i wanted to thank you for your blog :) its actually gotten me into ttrpgs and you run a great service! secondly! im in the market for a two player ttprg for people who… haven't exactly played ttrpgs ever before! we both like the genres horror and comedy. as for mechanics, we love character creation and coming up with lore / improv on the fly! any games that fit this would be great. thank you so much, mint!
THEME: Duet Games for Beginners
Hello, and thank you so much for your message! Welcome to the hobby, there’s oodles of fantastic games out there and I’m glad that you find my posts helpful. Let’s get started, shall we?
First of all, I’m also going to shout out @jeffstormer 's Party of One podcast, which was my jumping off point for looking for 2-player games that would work for you. I heavily recommend checking him out, as he has years of experience playing (and running) games for two, regardless of whether they’re designed to be played that way.
Second of all, I tried to recommend games that either come with a lot of tools or that are pretty short, because I wanted to give you options that either really guide you through the process or don't overwhelm you with instructions. Your mileage may vary, but I hope something here stands out!

Dead Friend: A Game of Necromancy, by Ghostly Rituals.
Dead Friend is a roleplaying game for a necromancer and a ghost. That is, it's a collaborative storytelling game for two players. You will each play the role of a friend, one living and one dead. You will ask and answer questions to develop the characters, their community, their history together, and the motivations leading up to their final conflict.
The script follows the dramatic structure of a necromancy ritual, and you will use the spellbook of instructions throughout the entire game like a witch reading spells from an ancient grimoire. The mood may be spooky or intimate, heartwrenching or hilarious — it is up to you as storytellers. Dead Friend requires 1 Tarot deck or 1 deck of mundane playing cards.
I think this game looks like a good combination of horror and comedy, as it carries horrific tones but allows you to choose the mood. You’ll be answering question prompts throughout the game using tarot cards, so this is another excellent method of creating lore as you play. This game has an actual play episode of it with Jeff Stormer and Dani Costello that you can listen to if you want an example of play as well!
Standoff, by Matthew R.F. Baloušek.
The necromancer shrieks with cruel laughter, plunging the glowing dagger into the warrior's heart. "Fool! All your struggle was for naught. Your soul will be but a tasty morsel for my dark master!"
He starts to pull the dagger out, but finds his wrist stopped cold by Francesca's iron grip. She stares back with an icy glare. A glint of light catches the necromancer's eye, and he looks down to see the talisman of protection.
Wresting the dagger from the necromancer's cold hands, Francesca grins. "I hid all my vital organs in a pocket dimension!" Taking a free hand to dip a finger in what appeared to be blood, she tastes it and chortles. "You wasted the ichor of Ag'tekk on nothing more than a large ketchup packet!"
Standoff is a game where everyone works together to tell a ridiculous story full of twists, ripostes, counter-feints, and triple-double-crosses.
This is a chance to take turns one-upping each-other in a world of your own design. You’ll need a number of index cards in order to write down what you introduce to the world, but little else. What I appreciate about this game is the structure it provides - I find that structured sections and examples help new players get used to coming up with pieces as they go.
This is improv comedy at its finest - and it can also play with a larger group! There aren’t specific characters assigned to each player, but if you want to take more responsibility for either the Protagonist or the Antagonist then you should still be able to do that. This game looks exceptional, and I hope you check it out!
What’s A Vapourwave, by fen slattery.
A two-player, 200 word RPG about explaining vaporwave to your grandpa. Based on a true story.
One player is Casey, who kinda knows what vaporwave is. Another is Grandpa, who loves Casey and wants to understand their life. Played via text message.
This is a simple game that can be played via text message that navigates a humorous attempt at a grandfather doing his best to understand his grandchild. I love the aesthetic of this game, and I can see how easy it is to let the conversation within this game devolve into hilarity.
Heart Full of Trash, by StarshineScribbles.
Heart Full Of Trash is a  2-player roleplaying game where you play as raccoons on a date!
Sort your recycling as you create your characters and tell the story of their romantic endeavours. Will your date be a triumph or will your raccoons develop a deep and long-lasting friendship?
Either way, by the time the game is over, your recycling will be sorted and ready for correct disposal.
This is an adorably cute game that leans much closer to the comedy side of your request. The two of you will actually sort your recycling as you role-play - so since you’re using something you already have in your house, you don’t need to go and buy any extra gaming materials! This game is a bit closer to an improve game as well, so it might be a good introduction for someone who is less familiar with traditional character sheets and rolling dice.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked, by Nevyn Holmes.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked is a love letter to sci-fi cosmic horror and gore-filled splatter films.
You're In Space And Everything's Fucked emulates the trappings of isolation space horror video games through the lens of a tabletop role-playing game and is inspired by similarly fucked-up situations found in the Dead Space, System Shock, and Alien franchises.
The Station takes on the role of monsters and setting; generating both as the Struggler explores. They take a bird's-eye-view of the story and throw obstacles and objectives at the Struggler.
The Struggler fills the boots of the hapless sap that ended up in this situation. They scavenge, sneak, and generally work to survive by any means necessary in the face of horrifying creatures and untrustworthy NPCs.
The Demo version of this game is designed for two players, although it looks like the Kickstarter that Dinoberry Press ran back in March is for a bigger game down the road. The game includes a character creation section, a hint of map generation, and a handful of generated Boss Monsters! Because you generate the map as you go, I think this gives you a chance to come up with lore as you go. If you want chilling horror and a constant struggle for survival, this is the game for you.

In 2010 there was a ceremony at the White House to award Paul McCartney with the Gershwin Prize. Full video here:
youtube
Things I found adorable:
04:08 Paul describes showing off to the mums at the school about the fact that he's going to the White House (this tickled me *so much*)
11:02 Paul singing along enthusiastically with Stevie Wonder's interpretation of We Can Work It Out
20:25 Jack White's little secret smile as he walks on stage (poor baby is so nervous, but he made excellent choices for what to sing, and got multiple whoops from Paul)
23:40 Faith Hill waves to Malia (not directly Paul related, but it was super cute)
32:00 Elvis Costello says "I love you" so sincerely, and Paul just puts his hand on his heart and rocks his head back with his eyes closed
33:45 The crowd cheers for Master Sgt. Matthew Harding's lovely piccolo trumpet high note
33:56 Elvis's raised-eyebrow knowing look at Paul for "finger pies"
49:35 Stevie Wonder reminiscing about Monsterrat
51:45 "Good n bayyd"
53:30 🎵 We love you Paul 🎵
54:14 Why are there lava lamps on stage?
1:02:33 "A song I have been itching to do at the White House"
1:08:25 The exchange about the whistle
1:17:05 Look how happy Jack White is to be na-na-naing on stage
Overall, a highly recommended watch. Paul is so genuinely happy and relaxed.

I notice POTO Vienna doesn't have an alternate Christine, do you think Lisanne Veeneman will do all the shows unless sick or on holiday?
the restaged productions (and many other productions over the last 5-7 years) seem to not give as much attention to the alternate Christine as much. in the three, soon to be four productions of the laurence connor nightmare direction, the only alternate to get an official stage photo was olivia brereton in the restaged uk tour.
Tumblr media
some of the us tour alternate/understudies (more on that later) had some side of the stage performance pictures taken by matthew murphy, but those were never printed in the brochure or put on posters. and i don't remember anything of bridget costello either in australia.
meanwhile, broadway, west end, and old us tour alternates usually had a few stage photos taken and at least one of them included in the brochure and a poster outside the theatre.
the restaged US tour christines also had weird schedules, at one point no one could publicly post or answer questions about when they were going on, sometimes there was a "first cover/second cover" situation where one got preference over the other, I remember reading stuff from one of the understudies "[the principal] just takes off any two shows she likes and I do them, any shows I miss or additional shows the principal takes off are covered by the other understudy" (i think i'm paraphrasing celia hottenstein when katie travis was principal but i don't fully remember). and then some time (a couple of years/cast changes) later, suddenly there wasn't as much rhyme or reason to it and both were considered "understudies" with no alternate.
and of course the restaged tour "alterstudies" all perform in the ensemble when not playing christine, as opposed to previous replica productions such as broadway and old us tours, which for the most part have the christine alternate do 1-3 shows a week with a generally set schedule and having the day off when not performing and no additional role besides christine. plus there's 1-2 understudies with a regular ensemble track or swing role.
the vienna revival lists 2 cover christines performing regularly as "princesses", leonie kappmeyer and lillian maandag, but no indication that one is "christine at certain performances" or "first cover". i doubt lisanne clémence veeneman will do 8 shows a week, but i'm not sure how they will arrange who covers her off shows and what dates the 2 covers will perform. at first i wondered if leonie kappmeyer was first cover because she is listed first on the website cast list, with lillian maandag the next person listed, but then i realized the ensemble is listed in alphabetical order by last name, and it's just coincidence that leonie and lillian are next to each other. i guess we'll find out

Weather Report is a cool dude! His actor did a good job!
List of English dub actors in Stone Ocean I really like so far:
Matthew Mercer (Jotaro Kujo)
Kira Buckland (Jolyne Kujo)
Yong Yea (Enrico Pucci)
Tiana Camacho (Ermes Costello)
Stephan Fu (Weather Report)
And probably more to go!

ABOUT:
Costello is the Noir World alternate of Alan Matthews from As Time Goes By. He always seen near Fez-Head, and people talk of it. Even though both Costello and Fez-Head don't want people to, they are still always together. At one point, Costello frustratedly knocks the fez hat off Fez-Head's head.
Francis Stechino, Sr. (stage name Vader) is a very large man who works as a professional wrestler. He has trouble staying out of character and often bellows at people and threatens them with physical violence.

Roll for which group goes first? Hmmm ... the bombers first, then ... okay ...
Ira you creepy fucker I swear I don't trust you as far as I can throw you ...
So ... it's a familiar familiarity then, Matthew?
Ashley sleight of hand Nat20? Awww ... and apparently she may just have given that old beggar a small fortune round here ...
The objective of the plan ... hmmm ... meanwhile it seems FCG may be grating on Ira's nerve some ...
Barking? Really? Probably not good ...

Spiderclimb PLUS Invisibility ... okay, here we go, then ...
Not NOTHER shite roll? Two 2s? Balls ... Marisha, WHY?!!!
Wow ... this has gone all kinds of Abbott & Costello ... oh thank the gods FINALLY a good roll ...
This plan keeps getting more and more convoluted and I love it ... LOL ...the stink of desperation is STRONG now ...
"Matt: "You're Batman-ing this! Like Adam West!" XD
I cannot believe that actually worked ... or did it? O.O
Oh yeah, OF COURSE they got spotted. That WAS a massive fuckup ...
Phew ... that was like SCARY close ... and NOW he checks for traps? Oof ... at least they're in ... so what now?
Aha! So Chetney could follow her scent? Cool ... oh WHAT?!!! A Cytaa? Is that HER Cytaa? Okay then ... Gona? Cute ... So yeah, this could work, then ...
Awww ... yeah, let her hide in Laudna's birdhous backpack! Yeah! Oh yeah ... yeah, better on their shoulders, rather than in there with Pate ... O.O
Time running out for Orym's Invisibility ... great ...
Back to the bombers, again ...
A new wall ... a "BLAST WALL?" Oh, that can't be good ...
Oh, so this is going to be a PROBLEM for them going forward?
Passwall? With the Staff? Would that actually WORK?
This shit is FIFTEEN FEET THICK?!!! Bloody hell ...
Oh, an Illusory spell? Yeah, that's best ... nice one, Ira. And now he's making will-o-the-wisp lights too ... FCG: "I don't know why I bother."
Some kind of seriously ugly drilling machine ... that thing is just NASTY ... 3 Reilorans and a Hulk? Hmmmm ... potentially risky ... is this gonna be a problem?
Oh, so THIS is gonna be the bombsite? Hmmmm ... good point, though ... they definitely need to deal with these guys too ... ah, so we're DEFINITELY doing this then ...
SIX big bombs ... of course ... why am I not surprised?
Time to fight, then ... AND THAT'S when we take a break? Of course it is ...
And we're back ... with the OTHERS again ... yeah, not really surprised ...
Chetney wolfs out in the dumbest possible way and I love it ... XD ... and somebody's coming ... great timing ...
"Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinstoooonnnn ..." Yup ... way to creep Matt out, Travis ... XD
Now Matt's doing secret sneaky DM stuff ... O.O ... oh dear ...
Balls ... GUARDS ... and they're like TOTALLY blocking the way ... how to get through? Wait ... Chetney's going to use his TOYS to do this? How?
Wow ... the Master Toymaker did BEAUTIFULLY there ... way to go, Chet! And now they're through ... sweet!
Grim Psychometry ... ON THE CRYSTAL?!!! Really, Chet? This sounds like SUCH bad idea ...
Aha, so they're like ... Reiloran SCIENTISTS, then? Hmmm ...
Ah, so THIS is the Bay? OKay then ...
Organs? BABY organs? Eep ... O.O ... in general this is all REALLY CREEPY ...
Oh dear gods what the fuck is THAT THING?
Hunter's Bane? Yeah, do it, Chet ... no hits ... phew ...
A fucking JUDICATOR is being autopsied? Holy fuck ...
Ah ... so that's who they're looking for ... and she's IN THE VAT!!! Great ... still alive, but ... yeah, this is clearly pretty bad ...
And we're back in the dig ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
CHARM!!! Yup ... and it WORKS!!! OKay ... oh, not on IRA though ... jump in front of him? Fearne, honey ... wow, I can't believe that worked ...
Okay, thats ONE down without a fight ...
Wow ... Ashton is, like, REALLY bad at Deception ... O.O
Wow ... Ira just set the timer while THIS SHIT'S going on ... oh fuck ... this is all going south SO FAST ...
Three minutes = one minute of game play ... oh boy ... rush it, guys!
Oh, so Ira is going to ABANDON ASHTON? Wow .., oh, no, THAT'S more like it ... the Juggernaut is now a SNAIL ... nice ...
And now they're running ... and having a jolly little convo while they're at it ...
BOOM ...
Dimension Door to the surface just as the bombs go off? Phew ... and now eveything is just CHAOS ... Fearne is FALLING!!! Shit! Oh, NICE SAVE, Ira! And now they're just BOOKING IT!!!
Fuck, this is gone all kinds of fucked ... wait, he wants to UNROLL THE HOLE, put Letters in it, roll it up again with him in it, and then RUN AWAY with it? That is one hell of a Hail Mary ... roll for Dexterity, then ... so that just HALVES THE DAMAGE ... oof ... and now he has to do a STRENGTH CHECK to see if he can HOLD ONTO THE HOLE?!!! Oh my fucking gods ... if this tanks they lose the Hole forever ... 16? Wow ...
That's a lot of dice for damage ... that is NEVER a good sign ... even half of THIS is gonna hurt ... and now he's SMILING ... 158 points of Force Damage? Holy shit ... even halved, that's stil 79 points each ... ouch ...
But at least they still have the Hole ...
And now 25 points of BLUDGEONING damage each ... oh boy ... is it over, at leaat?
Oh bollocks ... that FUCKING DRAGON again ...
Oh for fuck's sake ... flip flop AGAIN?
And the blast shakes the whole place EVEN HERE ... more chaos ... and the vat is CRACKED! Okay ... Orym goes for it, meanwhile Chetney just shouts out for an evacuation ... so that leaves just the Mystic AND the Shrike ... hmmm ...
Battlemap? Aha ... cue Wizzkids plug ...
Unsettling Presence? Cool ...
Invisibility definitely really helps with Stealth checks ...
Getting ready for a scrap ... and a timed attack ... okay, then ...
A SIXTH LEVEL Psychic Lance? Bloody hell, Imogen ... and now the Mystic is Incapacitated ... nice ... 29 points of SPsychi damage!
Orym Hexes the Mystic and goes for an attack ... it hits! Oh yeah, he is gonna FUCK THIS GUY UP ... 18 points! Action Surge! Yeah ... oh yeah, he just MURDERS that guy ... holy fuck ... and now he's going for the Shrike instead ... holy shit, tiny Battle Master is a BADASS ...
Laudna Banes the Shrike, then Chetney casts Blood Curse of Binding on it ... oh, the new Scythe! Sweet ... and it hits! 19 for the first hit, 17 damage for the second! Wow ...
And NOW it's time to roll Inititative ...
Nuts ... the Shrike's up first ... and it smashes the glass tank with the ... THING in it ...
Some kind of giant BUG ... OH MY FUCKING GODS what the hell IS THAT THING?!!!
Laura asks them to hold for a moment ... cue several folk singing Girl From Ipanema ... XD ... oh, sounds like a Hail Mary ... Synaptic Static? Whoa ... so that's both the Shrike AND that bug beast ... 25 points of Psychic damage each ... and it fucks 'em up for fighting, too ... PINK LIGHTNING? Awww ... that's cute! :3
Chetney casts Blood Curse of Bloated Agony on the beasty, then attacks with his Scythe ... and CRITS!!! Nice ... Double damage means 25 on each of the two hits! Yeah ... and then his scythe SHATTERS right away? Fuck ... unbelievable ... he just GOT THAT!!!
Orym jumps on the still prone Shrike and attacks again ... 10 damage, then 15 on the second, 13 on the third ... and he gets the HDYWTDT! Yeah ... ANOTHER murder!
Laudna skitters across the ceiling over it and casts Blight on the vidulch ... 8D8 of Necrotic damage? Nice ... 25 altogether? Pretty sweet ... then she Quickens and hits it with an Eldritch Blast ... first misses, but the next two hit! Yeah ...
The beasty's turn and it's GETTING UP ... oh this is UGLY ... but it's also HURT ... okay ... IT CAN MULTI-ATTACK?!!! I'm sorry? Oh yeah, this thing is just unleashing a big can of whoopass on EVERYBODY, innit? Wait, AND it has Corroding Spit? Seriously? Come ON Matthew! But apparently because it wasn't "done", it is also falling apart with each turn ...
Imogen blasts a Lightning Bolt right through it ... at 4TH LEVEL?!!! Wow ... 23 points of damage! Just send those dice to dice jail, Laura! She Quickens, then casts Shocking Grasp on it ... 21 more points! Yeah ...
CHetney RIPS HIS OWN EARS OFF to reveal flames as he casts Crimson Rite! Okay ... 26 points of damage, plus another 16 from the Rite ... HDYWTDT!!! Yes! He just tears the vidulch CLEAN OPEN and it just spills itself out all over him ... charming ... oh for the love of ... DON'T EAT THAT, Chet!
They break the vat open and release their intended rescuee ... yeah, get to healing, guys! So Evoroa is free, and awake, but definitely still HURT ...
Oh yeah, grab the Aeorian tech thingy, yeah ... into the Bag of Holding with it! And some fetus bottles for Laudna ... lovely ...
Oh wow ... so they just put the white hot masks DIRECTLY onto the Judicators' faces, huh? Charming ...
Checking in with the others ... back at the bomb site, then ...
Oh yeah, I would say that blast was a RESOUNDING success ... meanwhile Letters and Ashton are just DEAFENED right now ... great ... Fearn tries to getto them both now ...
Oh thank fuck they're back together again ...
Fuck ... the Red Glow? Not good ... and here comes the SCREAM!!! Fuck ... whatever that was it wasn't GOOD ...
Yeah, better beat a hasty retreat ...
Another explosion ... a PINK explosion? Great ... oh yeah, that was DEFINITELY LIliana ... and she's STILL ALIVE ...
Backtracking out through the builsing in a hurry ... thank fuck for Invisibility ... yeah, they BARELY make it out ...
Crap ... soldiers, just EVERYWHERE ... try another route, then ... yes, UP not down ... good thing for all the chaos, clearly ...
Boot the door! Yeah, here we go ... young half-elf? Hmmm ... just keep going! Yeah, balcony! Go! Oh ... well THAT'S a long way down ...
So apparently the scream was Liliana ... oof ...
DOWN!!! QUICK!!!
Phew ... they manage to make their escape into the city ...
Liliana (psychically): "Did she KNOW?!!!" Matt: "And THAT'S where we're gonna call it a night!" Cue CHAOS from the party ...
Fuck ... another exhausting session ...
