I wish I could have gone to xavier’s school for gifted youngsters instead of the actual highschool I went to....movie Charles would NEVER bully me for not being able to do math

I got back from school earlier because I asked my teacher to go to the bathroom and I ✨collapsed✨ in the hallway. Thankfully, my math teacher ran out of the classroom and got me and stayed by my side for the whole time. She's an angel sent from heaven omg 🥹 She ordered the janitors to call the ambulance, she called my mom and then she sat on the ground, holding my hand to soothe me while I was sobbing because it was the first time they called paramedics on me at school and I was scared. I didn't need to go to the emergency room because the nurse said I was physically fine, my heartbeat was regular, I just forgot to eat this morning and my glycemia was low, but not too much. I love my math teacher. Of course, I also thank my other teachers (one of them took me a blanket and another one took me brownies and warm tea), the janitors and the paramedics.

#i'm fine now #i'm a bit traumatized by what happened earlier #but i should be fine #i want to buy a gift to my math teacher to thank her for being by my side always #i love her #guys i swear i'm sad this is my last year in high school because she was moved to another school last year and i didn't have her #then before school started we got thd news she would be back

LIKE GIRL?????#this student teacher is teaching 3 sets of grade 11 physics. 2 for the special advanced math/sci program my school offers and one gifted #split (as in the gifted kids get a gifted credit but the rest of us don’t). our last test average was probably in the 60s i kid you not.#anyway #.txt

#i have returned from death (school). limbo‚ even.#i shall not describe it as hell thanks to my lovely Friend (trademark) whom lights up the entire room for me #despite probably darkening it for everyone else due to her apathetic and uncaring nature. oh she's perfect #ahem. not the point. and also very boring to the rest of you who do not know nor care about her #well! the day went fairly great. she (the Friend) seemed to really enjoy my gift and got embarrassed by it‚ which was my intention #she read through the notebook i prepared for her over the summer as a sort of diary directed at her and she really laughed at some parts #she seemed to like the keychain‚ i hope to see her use it #she also really liked the matching-with-mine astronaut that is both an eraser and a pencil sharpener and is already using it #and she ate the two chocolate bars (her favorites) i added into the box as extras.#she was also pretty impressed when i pointed out design choices i made for the inside of the box #so all in all. great day‚ amazing day‚ nearly perfect dare i say. god why does it rhyme. i hate it here #ahem anyway!#we also have new teachers that took the place of the old ones. of course many remain unchanged‚ but it didn't go without any new faces #notably‚ we have a new qur'an teacher‚ a new math teacher and a new literature teacher.#some other teachers were also changed but i have not met them yet so i do not know which #i am especially conflicted with the new literature teacher -#on one hand‚ he's great! very funny‚ very considerate‚ and quite a good teacher from what i've seen.#on the other hand i will also quite miss the old literature teacher.#she was nice! i hope i get to see her around the school #anywwy‚ i will also be missing the old qur'an teacher a lot. she was my favorite‚ and she is very kind-hearted #im fine with the math teacher i suppose. i liked the old one‚ and the new one seems a bit... extra? but i don't feel too strongly on it.#i heard the english teacher we had was replaced and the one we had left the school‚ so that's sad. i really liked her.#🌙rambling

the ONE TIME i like really truly needed academic validation to keep myself from feeling like a complete and utter failure and i wasn't even there when it was given to me

#hello world #i know i failed my math exam this morning and its just so frustrating bcs ive been trying to understand that class all year and i HATE not #getting things and that class makes me feel so stupid bcs im not stem-inclined at ALL and thats prioritized so heavily above the humanities #and ive struggled through precalc and calc for two years now and i still just dont get it. it doesnt make sense to me #so the gifted kid burnout has been HIGH lately and i just feel so awful and so stupid and i wanted to cry after my exam this morning bcs #idk why i cant just understand these things!! i dont get it!!! ive worked so hard and it just never fucking clicks!!!#and there was an awards ceremony at my school tonight which i didnt go to bcs i was convinced i wouldnt win anything and then i won the #english award AND the foreign language award for my grade. and apparently my teachers gave speeches b4 calling my name and i just wasnt #fucking there and i NEEDED that i needed it so bad. a speech about my academic worth in terms of the humanities instead of stem would have #made me feel so valued. and now ive been crying for like an hour bcs im so pissed at myself for not fucking going #anyway. ap lang exam tmr so i have to get some sleep. gn guys <3 #vent in tags #vent post

#suddenly thinking about the fact that i ended up in the accelerated chem class in high school #solely because another class i was taking switched hours so i couldn't stay in my current regular chem class #the teacher - who knew i was somewhere between pisspoor and mediocre as a student - let me switch #he was like 'yeah it's only a couple weeks ahead of us; i can give you stuff to study over break and you'll be fine'#and i was!#flip side of the coin is having to bail out of apush halfway through the year #so. you know #there's some analysis to be made here of what gifted means in the school system vs what it means culturally #but it's almost midnight and i haven't really given this any thought #oh! i also ended up in an advanced math class by accident #jesus. okay something to much of this #we now return you to our regularly scheduled programming

hot baking tip for measuring by volume:

the only measurement tools you need are the teaspoon and the 1/2 cup

teaspoon is 5ml, good for small measurements like spices, baking powder, oil etc. need a tablespoon? it’s 20ml so pour 4 of those bad boys in. need a 1/2 tsp? eyeball it. half. done. 1/8? don’t bother, just pinch a bit, throw it in and call it good.

1/2 cup is 125ml. good for things like sugar, flour, water etc. need 1 cup? do 2 of those. 5 cups? 10 of the 1/2 cups. 1/4 cup? do 1/2 of that 1/2 cup.

“but wait” you ask “what about a 1/3 cup?” you ask “it’s impossible”

au contraire. fill that 1/2 cup up 2/3 of the way and you get 1/3. (1/2 x 2/3 = 1/3). done. if you need 1/6 of a cup (which you won’t, what psychopath does that?) just fill it up 1/3 instead.

if this isn’t accurate enough for you then you should be measuring by weight. use scales and an appropriately sized bowl

#OKAY LIKE I ENJOY CHEMISTRY A BIT BETTER ADMITTEDLY… I LIKED THE TIMES YOU ACTUALLY GOT TO *DO* THINGS WITH CHEMICALS #AND TURNING CHEMICALS INTO OTHER CHEMICALS #THAT STUFFS GREAT #I JUST HATE HOW MATH GETS INCORPORATED INTO PHYSICS IT LEGITIMATELY KILLED BOTH PASSIONS FOR ME #or at least how it GOT incorporated. for me #like with regular math and regular other sciences i get gucking PISSED because i’m fucking CERTAIN that if i had a better teacher with a be #better method of teaching i could have literally gone to fucking college for any of those subjects #its #BULLSHIT #FUCK #I WENT FROM FUCKING GIFTED TO BARELY LEGIBLE #that was also a my own brain thing but like my art skill kept improving despite the failure of everything else for a while…#they COULD have been nourished the way that was!!#god i did this chemistry program for kids at a nearby college in sixth grade and they had us in the field testing pollution levels #in the river and the microbial diversity and shit and it was SO FUCKING COOOOL #GOD i want to get back out there to our rancid ass river with a test tube now. how does one accuire the requisite chemical for phosphates
