Anything that @sirowsky write is amazing too. Driving Mr. Tovar is one of my comfort fics. I love it. I have read it multiple times.
@scribbledghost and her Agent Whiskey. Her Whiskey is perfect. Multitudes is another of my comfort fics.

@disgruntledspacedad and her Better Love series will always live rent free in my head. It was the first fanfic that got me into the fandom and it has a soft spot in my heart. I love Ears and Javi. Seriously, it is so well written it could be a season of Narcos. She also has a super sweet and sexy Frankie story called “Fire In The Sky”
@dindjarindiaries is my go to for anything Din. She loves Din and it shows in how she writes him. She understands his character and writes him perfectly. Security is a MUST read for any Mandalorian fan.
@something-tofightfor write Joel Miller like no one else. I’m also obsessed with her story for Jay Castillo called Nightingale. I love the relationship between reader and Jay.
@jazzelsaur and her perfect story Between The Raindrops. It’s a beautiful story of two people finding love again. It made me laugh and cry. It’s perfect.
@bunniesofsteel also writes a perfect Din. The way she writes “reader” speaks to me. I relate super hard to the way she writes her. She’s strong and brave, but also has an undercurrent of anxiety and uncertainty. Again just 🤌🤌🤌
@leslie-lyman and Stranger At My Gate. I flipping love reading Tovar and she has written him so well. The relationship between Tovar and Tessa is goals. They also live rent free in my head.

Questions About My OC (Martha Roberts edition)
1. What do they smell like?
She smells like an idiot
2. What is their voice like?
She can sing like one of those child prodigies on America’s Got Talent or whatever that show is. She could easily run every other busker out of St. Louis if Mordecai allowed her to.
3. What is their biggest motivator?
Nothing motivates her, she’s really mercurial and does whatever she wants
4. What is their most embarrassing memory?
She’s too young and not self-aware enough to experience embarrassment.
5. How do they deal with/react to pain?
Crying/screaming a lot. Also hiding.
6. What do they like to wear?
She wears boy clothes and girl clothes, but always wants new clothes. Her favorite shoes are brown leather with flower designs, her mom bought them for her and as soon as she grows out of them she’s going to have the biggest meltdown ever
7. Which of their relationships have impacted them most positively?
Probably her relationship with her little brother, moishe
8. What’s the weirdest thing they’ve ever eaten?
Avocado with homemade grape jelly/vinaigrette sauce her grandfather made for her
9. Describe the way that they sleep.
Poorly (unless her bio dad is holding her hand and/or cradling her literally the entire night)
10. What is their favorite food/kind of food?
Avocado with homemade grape jelly/vinaigrette sauce her grandfather made for her

TIMELESS GRACE
By: Noel Mengel
Date: Sept. 5, 2015
The exquisite music of Tim and Jeff Buckley is being honoured, writes Noel Mengel
Tim Buckley died in 1975, of a heroin overdose. He was 28. The US singer-songwriter had started young, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1966, before he was 20. He left behind nine studio albums - and an eight-year-old son he barely knew.
In 1991, that son, Jeff Buckley, still pondering how to get a start in a music career, accepted an invitation to take part in a tribute show to Tim Buckley in Brooklyn.
He had no desire to start a career on the back of his father's reputation but, as he would explain later, it bothered him that he hadn't even gone to his dad's funeral. He wanted to pay his respects.
One of the people in the concert was guitarist Gary Lucas, who established his reputation in Captain Beefheart's band and was a Tim Buckley fan in his youth.
"When I heard what Jeff was capable of, it was jaw-dropping," Lucas recalls. "I said to him, 'Jeff, you are a star.' He was very modest: 'I am? Really?' At that point he was retiring, maybe he lacked a little confidence. I thought it was my job to instil more confidence, to mentor him." The tribute show and Jeff's performance were a success, and Buckley soon started making a name for himself playing shows around New York.
Meanwhile, Lucas wound up with a day job for a record company but his "soul was crying out" so he returned to music and released a number of well-received solo albums during the '90s. Then Jeff Buckley offered to be his singer. "That concentrated my mind wonderfully," he says.
In a week, Lucas finished two instrumental pieces and showed them to Buckley. They became Mojo Pin and Grace, key tracks on Buckley's debut solo album, Grace.
"He just knew what to do and where to place his voice," Lucas recalls. "I could hand him these very dense instrumentals that just sounded right to me and he would elevate them to something that was beyond our individual efforts." Buckley started working with Lucas's band Gods And Monsters, but soon left to pursue his solo career.
Grace, the only album he released in his lifetime, came out in 1994. Acceptance was slow in his own country but overseas, especially in Australia, the album took off.
Then, just as he was about to start work on a new album in Memphis in 1997, he went swimming in the Mississippi River, fully clothed, and disappeared. He was 30. His body was found a week later. An autopsy revealed no sign of drugs or alcohol.
Musicians who loved his music have never forgotten its power. Steve Kilbey recalls sitting backstage at a gig when he first heard Grace playing through the PA system out front. "It was when I was touring with (Church guitarist) Marty Willson-Piper," he says. "We both went, 'What is this?' and sent someone to find out. I was immediately taken. I thought it was one of the best voices I had ever heard." Jeff Buckley's presence and tragic death loomed large in the circles Martha Wainwright moved in during the late 1990s.
"Young men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him. That was the vibe that I found," she says. "Even though he was very gracious about his talents and his abilities, he was a born star." The music of father and son is different. The connecting point is the quality of their soaring, mercurial voices.
"There was an otherworldliness there in both of them, something mystical," Wainwright says. "Though they barely knew each other, you can't deny the fact they are the same blood." Kilbey and Wainwright are among the musicians Lucas has assembled to recapture the magic of Tim and Jeff Buckley's songs. Others include Casper Clausen (of Efterklang), Willy Mason, Camille O'Sullivan and Cold Specks, with Lucas as musical director backed by his band Gods And Monsters.

I have no idea how long ago you wrote that Martha Manning fic but can I just say it is my favourite thing I’ve ever read- I’m not exaggerating. I can’t help but want more lol. Ur so talented :)
Then more you shall have! I'm glad you liked it!
The second time it happened, Martha was just as surprised as the first. They were at another party, weeks later, and somebody had brought port wine, which the company had drunk in the study, getting progressively more rowdy until they were playing rounds of pull-a-book-down-from-the-shelf-and-read-a-passage-as-if-to-a-lover. This was most amusing with textbooks.
"Let's have another bottle!" someone suggested, and they went out as a trio, in order to make sure that the bottle made it up the stairs safely.
"I should like some air..." muttered someone else who Martha didn't know, a friend of a friend who was using his lady's fan quite vigorously to cool his face. Ah, the perils of sitting closest to the fireplace.
He left the room, and the she was, alone again with John Laurens. The last time this had happened... she dared not think of the last time. He'd been too kind. He'd probably only held her because he felt sorry she seemed to like him, or because he was lonely, or most likely of all, both. She picked up her glass again and looked at him sort of sideways, just to see if he was looking in her direction. He wasn't. He was staring out the window, but whether drunkenly or pensively, she wasn't sure.
She took a sip. The port wine was good. It was as thick as syrup, and still tasted like grapes.
"I have a confession to make," she said, feeling the need to fill the silence with something amusing. Instead of preparing himself to look amused, however, a brief look of terror crossed John's face. Oh dear. Oh, she had not meant to do that. "I must confess I like port much better than regular wine - it tastes as if the grapes still exist and are not... dead, you know?"
John looked relieved. "I do know!" he said after a moment. "Though I wouldn't go so far as to call the grapes 'alive'." He swirled it around in his glass for a moment, and then smiled. "There were grapevines on the shed, back home in South Carolina," he said. "I once climbed up the roof to paint them."
"What, do you mean to paint on the leaves?" Was it just her imagination, or was he leaning slightly closer as he told the story? This only made amusing comments more imperative - they might make it seem as if she wasn't focussing solely on his position on the couch-
"No," John laughed, "To paint a picture of them!" He was definitely leaning at least a little in her direction. "Anyways, I fell off the shed. It... hurt. I really don't know why I'm telling this story."
Martha laughed and turned as if she was turning her knees towards the fire. It brought her just slightly closer to him. And indeed, it seemed to be just past the distance where it was obvious what she wanted, because there his arm was, just around her shoulders from behind. His hand held her arm so softly she almost couldn't feel it through the silk layers of her dress. She wanted to interrogate his motives. She wanted to never speak of it, and just take what he evidently wanted to give. She sort of wanted to cry.
Instead, she leaned back towards him. "Did you ever do something ridiculous as a child?" he asked quietly.
"I'm sure I did," she replied, equally as quietly. "Before I understood how seals work, and, I must have been only three or four, but I was determined to send a letter. So-" she bit back a laugh. His arms were so warm around her. "-so I opened up and envelope and just upended a candle into it, squished it closed, drew a few lines on it, and proudly handed the still-warm mess to the postman."
John laughed so hard she could feel his shoulders shaking.
"You-" he snorted, drunk and undignified, "I've no idea what you're talking about, that's genius! Imagine recieving such a letter! The mystery you would generate..." he held her tighter, basically an embrace, for just a moment. "I admire your amusing stories," he said. "I hope you know."
Then foosteps sounded on the stairs. Time was up. They both sat bolt upright, personal spaces suddenly expanding to a reasonable size.
"More port?" the host asked, swinging around the doorframe, gleefully drunk.
"Why yes, thank you!" said Martha. I admire your amusing stories. I admire. I admire. She was certain she'd be thinking of it for weeks.

honestly i was pretty much the same! i was able to go to the proms in 2008 — it was amazing!! i was also lucky enough to go and see this thing, i’m not exactly sure what it was but it basically had all the monsters, costumes etc of doctor who & you could get a photo in the tardis. which was 9 year old me’s dream!!
torchwood doesn’t really follow any doctor specifically, like they’re mentioned; but no doctor ever appears on the show — i haven’t seen miracle day so i could be wrong. but practically you could insert any doctor in there.
as for amy & eleven, they basically allowed me to have my bisexual awakening. love that for them!! eleven is also my favourite, closely followed by nine — because nine was my first! and without nine this incredible show wouldn’t even exist; so people that skip him infuriate me.
in terms of ten, this is probably gonna be an unpopular opinion… definitely is, but he’s like second to bottom for me. just because he can be so insensitive sometimes, especially towards martha… not even in the unreciprocated love way, but like the historical racism thing… “just walk around like you own the place.” tf you mean?? my beloved can be racially attacked or worse.
but my favourite two parters come from ten: silence in the library/forest of the dead & human nature/the family of blood.
did you end up seeing the small short p.s? unbelievably i’ve only seen it recently and it’s so beautifully written but should be criminal with how much it plays on the heart strings. <3 - 👼
YOU WENT TO THE 2008 PROMS OMG YOU’RE SO LUCKY!!!! i’d love to experience the music in person it looks absolutely incredible im glad you had such a good time!!!
i know torchwood is like a higher age rating than doctor who and i do plan on watching it eventually for sure. maybe when my doctor who kick fully comes back when the show does later this year :)
NO BECAUSE SAME OMG amy was probably part of my bisexual awakening and i never even realised it omg. same with river though tbh. and eleven just owns my heart he’s just so incredible 🥰 he will always be my absolute favourite. nine was so good!!! his talent is phenomenal tbh and his whole season i won’t skip any episodes they’re all too good. i think my second favourite doctor must be twelve though, especially for the twelve/clara plotline. also we got missy who i absolutely love so much
i love ten but i always feel so sorry for martha :( i hated how her character was just used as another love interest for the doctor because she turned out to be arguably the strongest companion the doctor ever had and her potential was wasted on her unrequited love for the doctor, and the episodes with the master show that because martha did EVERYTHING and it wasn’t really touched on again??? that being said, ten/donna is one of my favourite dynamics of the show and i think that’s my best ten season.
HUMAN NATURE / FAMILY OF BLOOD OHHHH MY GOD WHAT AN AMAZING DOUBLE EPISODE. i rewatched doctor who from 9 pretty recently when i finally watched all of 13 and oh my god family of blood made me cry so much. david tennant’s acting in that episode is phenomenal i really felt for john smith :( and the silence in the library double will always be one of the best things of the show. ESPECIALLY because it sets up arguably the best written plotline of the show; river’s story.
and i don’t think i have seen that?? i’ll have to check it out ty for letting me know :)
also omg i’m so sorry i got to this ask a day late if i answered last night i would’ve been too tired and my reply would have been so bad LMAO
