He made the claim while addressing his 2021 stunt with Jim Iyke in a recent episode of the Trends and Bants podcast.

Anambra Govt Launches Free Health Insurance for Children Battling Sickle Cell Disorder
In a groundbreaking move to address the health challenges faced by children with sickle cell disorder, the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has launched a comprehensive program offering free health insurance.
This initiative is a result of a collaborative effort with the state ministry of health, demonstrating a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable children in the state.
The announcement came from Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, the Managing Director of ASHIA, during a registration event at the agency's office in Awka, where over 20 children with sickle cell disorder were enrolled. Dr. Ngozika Ifediora, State Officer of the agency, represented Dr. Onyemaechi during the registration process. Dr. Onyemaechi underscored the financial strain experienced by families dealing with sickle cell disorder, especially parents and adult patients.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Onyemaechi expressed the agency's dedication to easing the financial burden and providing essential support to children confronting health challenges due to sickle cell disorder. He stated, "ASHIA will continue to support children living with sickle cell disorder in the state."
Sickle cell disorder, a genetic condition altering the shape of red blood cells into a sickle shape, poses numerous complications, as described by Aisha Edward-Maduagwu, Director of the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home in Agulu. She highlighted the ongoing financial costs associated with managing the disorder, including routine drugs, frequent medical checkups, blood tests, emergency hospitalizations for painful crises, and other health-related issues.
Expressing gratitude for the initiative, Mrs. Edward-Maduagwu commended the state governor, the commissioner for health, and Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi for their generosity towards children with special needs. She urged the government to sustain its focus on the sickle cell orphanage home, emphasizing the continuous need for assistance to ensure the well-being of these children.
The collaborative efforts between ASHIA and the state ministry of health aim to make a positive impact on the lives of children living with sickle cell disorder in Anambra State. By offering free health insurance, the program not only addresses the immediate financial challenges faced by families but also emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and sustainable approach to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of promoting health equity and accessibility, ensuring that children with sickle cell disorder receive the necessary care without placing an undue financial burden on their families. As Anambra State takes a proactive stance in supporting these children, it sets a commendable example for other regions to prioritize the well-being of vulnerable populations and foster a more inclusive and compassionate healthcare system.
