sometimes i like to think about the friendship of steffon baratheon, tywin lannister and aerys targaryen

and then i get sad

just, them being friends, as close as brothers, tywin himself even knighting aerys after the war of the ninepenny kings, not knowing that one day he'll ensure this man's death, the crumbling of the targaryen legacy. aerys not knowing that he'll be overcome by madness, that he'll essentially send his cousin and best friend steffon on a wild goose chase that will end in his death and that the instability of his mind will make him lash out and push away the last friend he has in tywin, making him believe that somehow he had killed their friend

every action aerys taking, every rumor he spreads, becoming another nail in his own coffin, ensuring that tywin becomes the villain that aerys was so paranoid of
