Watch - Rewatch Drama List
Watching:
AIRING Shows ->
• Bed Friend:
I was intrigued by the show, especially since I was promised a high heat office bl and while i have gotten glimpses of it, i absolutely have fallen in love with King's and Uea's characters! While Jade endears me more with every episode (I'm don't easily like hyper characters) and I'm loving his friendship with Uea and I'm endeared and yet worried about his tendency to do like 10 ppls work by himself.
Plus KingUea gives very PrapaiSky vibes so that's always a plus i feel!
And Net and James have sizzling chemistry together and gods Net is so handsome 😍😍
• Destiny Seeker:
I'm so sad that not only is this show NOT available on youtube, but worse, it doesn't even have official eng subs 😭 Fansubbers are gods here and I'm so grateful! I have to go gray for this one
The show has university hostels rivalry, jock vs the beauties dorms, a pining boy! (it might be requited?) and is absolutely a pulp bl that is so nice so far! Plus it gives me lots of Hana Kimi aka To the Beautiful You manga / jdrama vibes with all the hostel stuff which i always love!!!
• Midnight Museum:
Off Attaphan, the things I watch due to you being in it 😭 While i definitely like the show a lot, i REFUSE to see it when the Sun is down especially with all the jumpscares. It's also very sus between Gun's character and the Museum owner right now.
• Love Syndrome III:
I started this because i saw a post where it had the post about the actor who apparently did kick boxing irl and also has some ok fighting scenes.
I'm still confused what exactly this drama is about though as I'm still on ep 1.
• LCK LoL Spring season: I mean it's not a drama so does it count? I mean i sit listening through 2+ hours of league of legends matches each day especially with playoffs so close so it's pretty fun, especially with the eng commentators! Plus watching T1 stomp their competitors with the whole team just cooking, especially Keria and his support picks and Oner with his Lee Sin and Faker with his Azir is just 😍😍 and SO much fun to watch!
AIRED ->
None actually, surpringly. I'm saving them for later.
Re-watching:
• The King's Avatar:
This isn't a bl, but a really good cdrama with the lovely hot Yang Yang that is based on the hot chinese novel of the same name! Definitely a good watch if you're interested in esports or mmos in general!!
Also if you like gamers romancing each other in an mmorpg (het romance) i highly recommend watching loveo2o it's a pretty sweet watch, also having Yang Yang in the lead role, available on youtube with eng subs! Also has a movie adaptation of the same name.
• My School President:
Ah my beloved. I went in expecting a generic high school bl, but got a new comfort show instead. Which honestly is rare because till now I've only had 2-3 comfort series and movies because I'm VERY particular about me having something as a comfort show.
Plus the ost is a banger and i listen to it everyday. The casts voices are so good!!!! Rock and Star and Healing and Once Upon a Time on spotify WHEN
Gemini and Fourth have absolutely stolen my heart in their roles as TinnGun and LimingHeart and I'll definitely be following their careers for a long while.
• SOTUS the whole saga: It was my first BL so while i may acknowledge it may have it's faults but it's always close to my heart especially Arthrit my tsudere sweet pink milk loving man!
Looking forward to: (in no particular order)
• 23.5: InkPa in Bad Buddy had me cheering for them and MilkLove were the initial reason for my interest in this show, especially since I LOVE the concept of unknown texters to lovers, because of the sheer SCOPE!! And now I'm equally excited to see gem and fourth as north and night!!!
• Only Friends: WHEN WILL I GET MY MESSY GAY DRAMA. I need messy relationship drama and my Forcebook, Firstkhao and Neomark! Get Mark a leading role asap!
• Our Skyy 2: I'm excited for ALL of the couples that will be shown, a nice change from the first season where I only cared for KongArt. Though do have a better script for all of them because the ones in last one were kinda eh, you know.
I NEED COLLEGE BESTIES TINNGUN AND AKKAYAN IDK HOW YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN GMM BUT GET! TO! IT!
• Delusions of S2 of MSP and Heartliming focused MLC post ep 8 episodes???
• Enigma: Possibly unhinged and tattooed and leather pants wearing Win Metawin? SIGN ME TF UP
• Double Savage
• Hidden Agenda
• Cooking Crush
• Punk Spy
• Wednesday Club (I know this one is being shot right now, based on mix's ig)
• Last Twilight
• The Jungle
• The Interest
• Love Upon a Time
• Middleman's love
• The Next Prince
• Zomvivor
Yep I'm looking forward to a LOT of thai shows!
Thanks for tagging me @solana-ceae !! It was fun doing this and i had a great time!
Anyone who wishes to do this is free to do so I'm not tagging anyone, just tag me if you do!

Patreon has laid off their security team
I know this isn't an update on my interactive fiction game but I just wanted interactive fiction creators and other people who have Patreons to be aware about this issue.
Whitney Merrill on Twitter: "Whoa @Patreon laid off their ENTIRE security team. Wouldn’t trust my data there. Also there’s some amazing talent to scoop up." / Twitter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For creators with a Patreon, I would recommend using a password manager to generate a randomly generated password so that when Patreon has (another) security breach, your password will be unique.
For creators that are uncomfortable with using Patreon and do not want to lose their Patreon content, you can import your Patreon content to a WordPress website with a WordPress plugin that can be used with a WordPress membership plugin like Paid Memberships Pro that lets patrons subscribe to your content like on Patreon. However, please keep in mind that WordPress plugins are also very vulnerable to attack so it is very important that you update the plugins frequently if you choose to go this route.
Ko-fi is also a good alternative that I know a lot of interactive fiction creators use for their work. SubscribeStar is a good option for NSFW artists.
Hopefully there won't be any serious security breaches with Patreon but who knows what will happen...
UPDATE (10th September 2022 - 11:30AM BST):
Patreon has confirmed to reporters that they are hiring an external security team to handle Patreon's security.
Kevin Collier on Twitter: "Wild. Patreon confirms the layoffs in emailed statement to me, says it's ok, they're using third-party security. https://t.co/zV9zw9yOlh" / Twitter
Tumblr media
What this means is that Patreon has decided to go for the cheaper option by outsourcing their security to a team abroad instead of spending more money and resources on an in-house security team. This is what is known to infosec/cyber security experts as MSSP/MSP.
However, a lot of cyber security professionals have criticised this decision by Patreon because historically, organisations that have outsourced their security to a team abroad have usually had a lot of security issues/security breaches later on down the line because they do not check/scan the security of the company as frequently as an in-house security team would.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also conflicts with what a laid-off security employee has said about the situation where they disputed Patreon's claims of this decision not impacting their security by alleging that Patreon has cut down of its use of external security vendors in the past four months.
Tumblr media
So what does this mean for Patreon's future and how am I affected?
What this means is that there are things going on behind the scenes at Patreon that we do not know about yet, all we know is that the leadership over there is making incredibly unwise business decisions by firing their entire internal security team and what this usually means is there will either be a huge security breach down the line or an announcement of a merger or acquisition.
Another potential risk is supporter deanonymisation, where attackers with malicious intent could blackmail subscribers that pledge to NSFW artists and kink content creators and threaten to reveal their Patreon pledges to an employer.
Your payment information (credit/debit card information) should be safe because Patreon do not process payment information themselves, they outsource it to Stripe and PayPal.
This blogpost by a cyber security professional is worth reading to know more on what to do about this situation.
Should I delete my Patreon account?
If you have no other option, then I would not delete my Patreon account especially if it is your only active source of income. What I would do is what I have listed above: by turning on two factor authentication through an app like Google Authenticator or Authy and changing your password to a randomly generated password so that you are not too much at risk when a security breach inevitably happens.
If you do have other options and are not as financially dependent on Patreon alone, then I would think about switching to other crowdfunding services like Ko-fi, SubscribeStar (I hear SubscribeStar is a good option for NSFW artists) and Comradery
I was originally going to create a Patreon for my interactive fiction/narrative game studio after I release the demo/first chapter of the interactive fiction game I'm currently working on (Mutants of Mayprice) but Patreon's lack of communication about this situation and their unwise decision of firing their entire internal security team (which wasn't many people to begin with, five people) does not leave me with a lot of confidence about the future of the platform.

The truly sad thing is that TRAs are not going to take a moment for self reflection and look at the perverts that have overun the TQ+ movement. Instead they are going to lash out at "TERFs".
Judges have ruled that the UK government acted lawfully in blocking Scotland's gender self-ID reforms.
Legislation making it easier for people to change their legally-recognised sex was passed by the Scottish Parliament last year.
The UK government blocked it from becoming law over fears it would impact on equality laws across Great Britain.
The Court of Session in Edinburgh has now rejected a Scottish government legal challenge to the veto.
The Scottish government has 21 days to decide whether it wants to appeal against the ruling, and the case could ultimately end up in the Supreme Court in London.
The legislation received cross-party support in Holyrood, passing by 86 votes to 39 after a highly-charged debate.
Campaigners against the reforms warned the legislation could risk the safety of women and girls in same-sex spaces such as hospital wards and refuges.
Supporters argued it would make the process of obtaining a gender recognition certificate (GRC) easier and less traumatic for trans people.
The legislation would remove the need for trans people to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria by a doctor before they are allowed to change their legally-recognised sex in Scotland, and would lower the age that someone can apply for a GRC from 18 to 16.
The period in which applicants would need to have lived in their acquired gender would be cut from two years to three months.
The UK government stepped in to block the bill from receiving royal assent after it was passed by MSPs, using powers contained in section 35 of the Scotland Act for the first time.
Scottish Secretary Alister Jack raised concerns that the reforms could adversely impact on the 2010 Equality Act, which applies in Scotland, England and Wales and sets out protections for groups including women and transgender people.
Tumblr media
The Scottish government challenged the move at the Court of Session - Scotland's highest civil court - with its top law officer, Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain, arguing that Mr Jack did not have "reasonable grounds" to block the bill.
Ms Bain also claimed that if the UK government was successful, Westminster "could veto practically any act of the Scottish Parliament having an impact on reserved matters because he disagreed with it on policy grounds".
But in her written ruling, judge Lady Haldane dismissed the Scottish government's appeal and said the block on the legislation was lawful.
She said Mr Jack followed correct legal procedures when he made his decision to invoke section 35 and that the Scottish government had failed to show that he had made legal errors.
The judge wrote: "I cannot conclude that he (Mr Jack) failed in his duty to take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to acquaint himself with material sufficient to permit him to reach the decision that he did."
Lady Haldane also said that "Section 35 does not, in and of itself, impact on the separation of powers or other fundamental constitutional principle. Rather it is itself part of the constitutional framework."
Welcoming the judgement, Mr Jack said it "upholds my decision to prevent the Scottish government's gender recognition legislation from becoming law".
He added: "I was clear that this legislation would have had adverse effects on the operation of the law as it applies to reserved matters, including on important Great Britain-wide equality protections.
"Following this latest court defeat for the Scottish government, their ministers need to stop wasting taxpayers' money pursuing needless legal action and focus on the real issues which matter to people in Scotland - such as growing the economy and cutting waiting lists."
Tumblr media
Alister Jack blocked the legislation because of its potential impact on equalities law that applies across Scotland, England and Wales
Humza Yousaf decided to proceed with the legal challenge shortly after succeeding Nicola Sturgeon - a passionate supporter of trans rights - as first minister earlier this year.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, he described the ruling as a "dark day for devolution".
Mr Yousaf said: "Today's judgment confirms beyond doubt that devolution is fundamentally flawed. The court has confirmed that legislation passed by a majority in Holyrood can be struck down by Westminster.
"The only way to guarantee we get true self-government is through independence. Sovereignty should lie with the people of Scotland, not a Westminster government we didn't vote for with the ability to overrule our laws."
He was the only one of the three candidates in the SNP leadership contest who backed taking legal action and the issue has been deeply divisive within the party.
Colin Macfarlane, director of nations at LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall, said the ruling would "mean more uncertainty for trans people in Scotland who will be waiting once again to see whether they will be able to have their gender legally recognised through a process that is in line with leading nations like Ireland, Canada and New Zealand."
Labour's shadow Scottish secretary Ian Murray said it was "disappointing this legalisation ended in the courts but this ruling should be respected".
Shortly after the reforms were passed, double rapist Isla Bryson - who changed gender after being arrested for attacking two women - was remanded to a women's jail.
Bryson was subsequently moved to a male prison after the case sparked widespread anger. The Scottish government said the new legislation had no impact on the decision about where Bryson was held.
As befitting an unprecedented case, this is in Lady Haldane's words a "novel and complex" ruling.
She actually concluded in part that this is a situation where many decisions could have been taken, and that "there is possibly no single right answer" - but that the courts should only intervene in the case of a clear error in law.
The judge concluded that Alister Jack was entitled to make a decision on this, and that he had taken the proper steps to come to a view, without going into the even knottier territory of whether it was the right one.
All of that complexity means there could be room for appeal.
The Scottish government will be combing through the ruling to see if there are grounds to go back to court.
Mr Jack has urged them not to, telling them not to waste public funds on further legal action.
But ministers will perhaps put more weight on the position of the Scottish Greens, their partners in government, who are absolutely furious about the "horrible, heartbreaking and unjust" outcome.
Challenging UK ministers on this has been a red line for the Greens in the past. It may be that Scottish ministers have little choice but to fight on if they are to keep their partnership government together.

MOONLIGHT CHICKEN – ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AU KORNPROM'S CAMEO (BUT IT'S ACTUALLY A CALLOUT TO MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT)
Tumblr media
When Assistant Director Au appeared in Moonlight Chicken as a bubble tea vendor at Ep.5 [2/4] 2.05, it got me wondering whether it was simply the cast and crew having a bit of fun (as with a number of the vendor cameos in Bad Buddy), or whether there was any greater significance (as with GMMTV producers/directors and their cameos in other series before – see this link here).
After all, Au Kornprom Niyomsil is not the director of Moonlight Chicken. But the cameo, while brief and unannounced, reads like a purposeful flourish – Director Aof saved Assistant Director Au's appearance for just a few seconds in the very last half-minute of the scene, so as to maximize the impact of this Aha! moment. This lends the cameo some weight, and I think there is meaning behind it too.
It’s especially significant that the one buying the bubble tea (chaa nom khai mook, or ชานมไข่มุก) is Fourth, in character as teenager Li Ming. And what Li Ming says to Jim at Ep.5 [2/4] 1.57 ("It's not for you") is significant too.
The connection that Fourth and Assistant Director Au have is that the latter is Fourth's director in My School President, which not coincidentally also broadcast its finale the same week as Assistant Director Au's cameo in Moonlight Chicken.
Now MSP is a feelgood vehicle clearly directed at a younger crowd. It's been crafted for maximum teenybopper appeal (does anyone still use this term though? 🤷‍♂️), with photogenic leads, lots of earcandy songs, cutesy sound effects, gigil/geram-inducing props (that chinchilla hoodie! 😍), uncomplicated storytelling and loads of sweet, affirming moments. All formulaic elements that management and marketing must be beaming at, that are likely to up MSP's money-making popularity in the teen segment and bring in cash from associated sidelines as well (young teens being the most willing to fork out cash for collateral merchandise, or so the current wisdom goes).
I'm not intending to suggest that teens are incapable of appreciating darker, heavier fare, mind you. But I do think the studios are keenest on less demanding, inoffensive output that they can then spin out into all sorts of income streams (music and merchandise being the most obvious, but also concerts and fanmeets as well). This would be logical for any commercial enterprise (which is what they are, after all) but if any among their stable of writers and directors are approaching their work with social consciousness too, well, there are bound to be clashes when pressure mounts to go in a lighter direction.
So to me, MSP is a bit of a rainbow-colored unicorn, a rare confluence of both these drivers (commercial orientation and social conscience, albeit applied with a gentler touch). Underneath its sugary BL theatrics are also positive messages aimed at bolstering the self-esteem and awareness of LGBTQ+ youth still coming to grips with the realities of their identities in cishet-dominated society. That its primary audience is not made up of adults may align nicely with management directives on the commercial front, but it also allows for its underlying message to be targeted as well.
When Li Ming says (a little too smugly) "It's not for you", with MSP's director then handing him the boba, the message is that it's the younger crowd that's being prioritized (not in Moonlight Chicken, ironically, but in My School President).
Tumblr media
MSP is especially for teenagers just starting to find their own way in life, not so much older adults who've already figured out (at least partly) who they are and how they fit into society (although everyone is quite welcome to watch along; one message of BL is surely "no gatekeeping" as long as you carry no ill-intent 🥰).
So this is the message of Assistant Director Au's cameo, I think – just as his bubble tea vendor persona is providing teens Li Ming and Heart with a sweet, tasty treat that they will enjoy, as director of MSP (and possibly future projects in the same vein) he's doing much the same thing by delivering a carefully-crafted confection designed to be especially palatable for a younger audience.
And just as bubble tea is known for containing its addictive pearls, teen-oriented BLs like MSP (created by Director Au's hand) will also contain something more substantial for you to chew on within (noting that the word khaimook or pearl also carries the connotation of precious value).
Tumblr media
To older folk who might not quite appreciate the offering for what it is (like when Jim says "I don't want it" at Ep.5 [2/4] 1.53) – well, a teen show is not really intended for you anyway (which is the meaning behind Li Ming's retort – he's not just being sassy, although that does have significance for Moonlight Chicken's plot too 😊). Jim's of course welcome to consume it if he wants or likes. But I think his tastes swing toward the more meaty and savory anyway; this is Moonlight Chicken after all. 💖
PS
At the time of writing this, I still hadn't watched Episodes 5 and 6 in full. But this scene was giffed and commented on so much I had to at least watch this bit. I was waiting for Director Aof to put in a cameo too, so this is what I wrote at first:
I think there's a strong chance it will happen. But what will it mean though? 🤷‍♂️
Well, we now know that it actually happened too, within the same episode! Thanks to @hughungrybear for pointing this out – see this link here. 🥰
I'll save Director Aof's cameo for another post though. I have thoughts about it – something rings ominous about how it was presented, and I'm not sure yet if we should wait for more to be revealed. 🤔

So like in your tags under the bb vs msp poll I saw you mentioning that msp was bad written and tingun aren't as healthy as people claim they are.....and I was like YEAH!! EXACTLY!! But I wasn't able to pinpoint it. Would you mind elaborating on those tags??
ohhh wowwwww my first ask!!!!! of course i will. i am also really happy that someone agrees since i kind of always found myself pretty alone in this lmaooo. thank you for your question!!! much appreciated! ♥
First claim: MSP is bad written
Yes, it is. For many reasons. I will elaborate on the main two.
It kind of presents itself as some sort of heir of Bad Buddy, but the comparison is pale to say the least. The main characters don't really have any reasons not to date. They could date in secret from the very start, as soon as they realize they both have feelings for each other, and then come out as an actual couple as soon as the whole music contest is over, or something like that (even waiting for another year until they graduate could be a valid choice tbh). No particular drama needed. They could still go to each other's houses and make out all day in bed while Gun's mom is working, or go out somewhere public without their classmates present and have a real date.
The actual conflict that makes them star-crossed lovers is ridiculous at best. The mere idea that a school club in high school (well, Mattayom actually, but whatever) would have a rule like that is genuinely stupid - like, it's not even 'club members can't date', but 'those who are in this club and going for Hot Wave can't have a faen'. Like, hello? What if I've had a faen before joining this damn club? I'm supposed to break up with them because some idiot thinks that'll make me more focused on singing and playing music? Are you fucking kidding me? I'm only accepting this as something not entirely crazy and fucked up if there's some cultural reference I'm missing behind it (if things really work like that anywhere in Thailand, then apologies, pretend you never read this last complain; but I did look it up on the internet and didn't find anything about it). It'd still sound stupid, but at least it'd make sense. It was something so out of the blue that just felt like the opposite of plot armor: something made entirely just to create an obstacle to the love story of the main guys once their path was clear and they were both sure about their feelings (if that's such an important rule, why didn't it come up sooner? It felt like watching a kids show, where threats gradually become scarier the more our protagonist becomes stronger). Regardless, like I said, it was not that bad for them.
Pat and Pran are star-crossed lovers because the parents they love and admire - and are economically dependent on - hate each other and actively tried to keep them apart, causing trauma and pain on both ends. They can't get rid of them. It's not highschool, it's not a damn music club you'll eventually get out of (soon enough!!!). It's their whole life. It's the people they love the most who are trying to oppose their relationship (not to mention their friends as well, while Tinn and Gun have full support on that regard). They feel guilty, they feel sad, they don't want to have to say goodbye to their fucking families in order to keep their relationship going. This is serious, and complicated - and practical, as money does buy happiness after all. This will last, probably forever, until their parents will finally come around and accept things are the way they are - we see a glint of it happening in the last episode, at least. Compared to this, Gun and Tinn are fine, really. Even a teenager should be able to see that. The writers didn't have to go out of their ways to make comparisons that martyr PatPran's symbols, like having them use the word 'friend' instead of 'boyfriend' as an 'inside joke', or their colors, or anything at all really, only for them to be related to a fucking school club rule.
The secondary couples are bad handled, which is a shame because I was genuinely interested in Sound and Win at first. I even dared to hope - fully aware I was fooling myself, but at least hoping it was going to be a fun road to something interesting and original! - that they would have actually written an aromantic/demiromantic character in this drama, based on what Win says to Sound in episode 10. But then everything that episode was supposed to be a build-up for in terms of their bond just suddenly disappears in the next, when they're somehow in an established relationship already. Great? Would have been nice to see that happening on screen, I guess. I suppose that's what happens when you WASTE so many episodes around only two characters (TinnGun), relegating focus on your secondary couple (I won't even mention the third couple, since there isn't much to say about them tbh) in the last ones, making it rushed and kind of pointless (this also happened with the feud between Tinn and Sound, which never got explained to the viewers for some reason; okay). And they even get an explicit PatPran reference at some point towards the end of the drama, which makes me cry and not in a good way - poor babies, don't worry, we'll all just collectively forget your outfits and cans were even brought up in MPS in the first place.
Second claim: TinnGun are not as healthy as people say they are
I want to be brief with this one, because people are going to hate on me anyway, and I don't feel like writing a whole ass essay on those two. All I have to say is: if this couple had been heterosexual, people would have probably hated it. With how much double standards affect the way people perceive female characters and straight relationships, all those traits that make them state Tinn is a green-flag and a lovable simp would instead have them assert that he's a succubus, that he's not indipendent enough, that he's only obsessed with the guy and doesn't actually love him, and that he doesn't do much in the show other than being the love interest. Usually, when people say these things related to female characters, they're wrong - and just being mysogynistic, hating on any girl who dares to have a cute crush on a guy. Ironically enough, in Tinn's case, they wouldn't even be all that wrong.
Like I said, I don't feel like elaborating much on this issue, unless anon really wants me to - then I'll dive into it in detail in another post. But, like, genuinely, Gun really pissed me off at times, he often takes Tinn for granted (I'm thinking about that one moment where Tinn tells him he's not going to make it to one of their rehearsals and he gets mad about it, as if Tinn hasn't been at his disposal the entire fucking time; that scene really made me feel uncomfortable, because if I were the one who had been so helpful to anyone at all, just for them to treat me like that as soon as I have a problem of my own and can't attend to theirs, I'd be genuinely disappointed; and yes, I know that Gun will later change his attitude, but I feel like there was no weight placed on this matter, as if him finally acknowledging Tinn's struggles and effort wasn't a turning point in their story but more like something optional that just kind of happened), and I feel like their relationship is often unbalanced on many aspects.
I won't elaborate on all the other claims - "he's obsessed with the guy", "he doesn't do much in the show other than being the love interest" -, but I do genuinely believe there should be more dialogue about them in the fandom. I never once read anyone complain about these issues, and I know for a fact they'd have come up immediately had it been a female character in Tinn's place.

THIS. EPISODE. DID. ME. IN. Moonlight Chicken episode 5 thoughts:
1) Let’s just call this episode ONLY FRIENDS, AMIRITE? Alan, Jim, let me tell you about this showwww...
2) No, seriously, this was another case -- as I am learning about Aof’s oeuvre -- where he packs SO MUCH into one episode that my head is left spinning (I’m still recovering from episode 10 of Bad Buddy). Like I reblogged earlier today: I LOVE that Aof is messing with the couplings, the GMMTV recipes. Love it, love it, love it. Seeing First and Mix get cute gave me the shivers, I can’t lie.
3) We get the history of Wen and Alan. We get a lovely repeat of a trope he so beautifully memorialized in Bad Buddy. We get the other side of that trope -- when the relationship ends, the memories sour.
How do you deal with that -- how do you process that? Oh lord, we got to see that through Wen, his processing, his thinking. His sympathy and compassion to Alan, which he still had! He still had their ring! Wen was willing to face Alan’s sarcasm, to take the hits, because he was afraid of truly breaking Alan -- until he absolutely HAD to break Alan, to break his own misery and fate.
God, could Mix and First have done any better with demonstrating the hills and valleys of a relationship? I’m shaking my head because, while it was devastating to watch, it all rang SO TRUE. Aof didn’t flinch at the pain, the stomach twists, of the demise of this relationship. Ugh, even Alan at the bank with the loan situation. The SIMMERING! The anger, the sadness, the RECOGNITION that his bond with Wen was on the way out. With or without Jim there. AND -- Alan talking about Wen as if Wen were a possession. First SHOWED US what Alan’s fucking problems were! Oh, my gut. So painful to watch.
4) And then. Jim and Wen at the chicken rice stall. And WEN, pushing JIM! Inherited trauma much, Wen?
We know why Jim is holding back from Wen at that point. We know Jim is preoccupied with his past. Whether or not Wen is acknowledging it doesn’t matter at that moment. What Wen is doing is pushing Jim like Alan pushes Wen. And Jim is like, hold up, hands up, I don’t want none of y’alls drama right now. I’m not there for this. (Which, to be honest, I took as a legit position at that point, despite feeling sorry for Wen. I appreciate a no drama stance from an OG uncle.)
5) But Wen. My heart for Wen. What I loved about the interconnection between his conversation with Gong and his run through beautiful outdoor Pattaya, recollecting everything he was going through -- we know what Wen’s moral conflict is. His moral conflict is that he’s earning money through a job that will destroy a key corner of Pattaya’s culture, the culture he’s experiencing at the moment of his run. His ability to function as an adult is literally impeded by his guilt towards Pattaya, towards Jim, towards the culture he’s going to influence deeply, and by his ability to afford (or not afford) his own place. His guilt towards Alan. His desperation towards Jim. His own poverty, financially and emotionally.
Is he looking for Jim to save him? And, is that Jim’s role?
6) And I haven’t even begun to talk about Heart and Li Ming yet. (THERE’S SO MUCH IN THIS EPISODE. I’ll come back to Jim and Wen once more before this is done.)
Firstly, with Fourth and Gemini -- LOVED THE FAN SERVICE. And I’m not even watching MSP, but I am sure the MSP fans loved the mascots and the pictures -- super sweet. Wen’s cute-cute uncle smile towards the two teens, gah, my twinkling heart.
7) Y’all, I really don’t know how much more I can take of these damn parents in dramas right now, lol. I just posted this today to help me process all the family trauma I’ve been seeing lately in the dramas I’ve been watching (and tbh, I’m doing it to myself, right, I’m choosing my own dramas, but STILL).
But to see Heart’s parents struggling to communicate with their son. And to acknowledge that they haven’t had anyone to interpret for Heart in three years. And to see those parents actually have the motherfucking audacity to cry over Heart’s anger about literally being abandoned.
[All bad drama parents that I’m experiencing right now -- please come with me as I lock you in a windowless room so you can ruminate on your crimes. (Which you won’t, because you’re all sociopathic narcissists, but ANYWAY.)]
@wen-kexing-apologist‘s prediction that Li Ming would become an interpreter was right for the present moment, and I loved that that came true. Along with this -- I absolutely LOVE that many of Heart and Li Ming’s conversations are not subtitled. I LOVE THIS, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT.
What all of this does for me -- the un-subtitled conversations, the interpreting -- it demonstrates the growth of their intimacy. Why should us as the audience -- WHY SHOULD HEART’S PARENTS -- be privy to a couple’s most intimate moments? Heart’s parents think they could control him, because they were clearly ashamed of him. Heart TRUSTED Li Ming to communicate to his parents Heart’s most critical thoughts and feelings. What gorgeous intimacy to see growing between the two teens. The trust. Heart can only trust Li Ming at this moment, because he can’t trust his parents -- not only with his inner thoughts, his own personal intimacy, but to even give him basic emotional care.
@bl-inded’s analysis was spot on. I, too, also got the sense that Heart’s parents thought that they were doing enough, because they were taking basic care of their son without further engaging with him -- because they were ashamed of him, maybe even disgusted with him. What purpose would Heart serve to them after he lost his hearing? I’m sure they asked themselves that question (or, at least, Asian viewers/us broken Asian children would KNOW inherently that they asked themselves that question).
8) A few last passing thoughts:
- I wish I could find the post here on Tumblr, but someone once wrote that the things that we fall in love with when we first meet a person -- their sarcasm, say, their sense of humor, their stubbornness -- those things often become the qualities that we end up hating as the relationship ends. Because the sarcasm gets turned back into the relationship. Oh, Alan.
- I thought the use of sound and music were wisely leveraged. I loved the chirping outside the outdoor restaurant where Alan and Wen were eating during the break-up. It was very indicative of Pattaya’s outdoor eating culture. AND: when did we NOT hear music? When we saw Heart’s unused keyboard on his dresser as the camera pulled back on him and Li Ming as he wept.
- Finally: I really liked the slight flip of the paradigm of older culture vs. modern culture at the end of the episode. I kind of felt like it was the younger crew --Wen and Li Ming -- who were the brave ones of the episode, to step up and out to reflect how they wanted to move forward in their worlds. Li Ming WAS going to support Heart, no matter what. And Wen WAS going to confront Jim, no matter what, and demand comfort from Jim -- because he know that Jim has comfort to offer.
What the HELL will we be faced with tomorrow, oh my god. I’m going to need a large cup of hot water with lemon, please, my poor heart!
I’m actually going to give this episode 🐔🐔 for the Khao Man Gai Appreciation Rating -- even though we didn’t see KMG, we got a clutch cooking tip from Uncle Jim about the old winter melons. AND, y’all, I made one of Hot Thai Kitchen’s KMG sauces, nam jim tao jiew the other night and it was bomb. Highly recommend!

Hi!
Here is a summoned cooking crush girlie. I love this show way too much and a lot more than I thought I would before. Im not the biggest dynamite/fire Fan but i LOVE LOVE LOVE PREM AND TEN SO MUCH!!!
So here is my question: what are your predictions to their relationship in the next few episodes. Its already quite clear that they caught feelings for eachother I think so I wonder if this will be a story of how the come together or about them getting together earlier in the show and then have to face problems and stuff. What do you think?
hi hi! yesss, welcome hehe! I'm gonna be honest, I'm also not the biggest dynamite/fire fan either, even though on paper their pairing sounds great, mostly bc they start quite suddenly with dy having an unexplained crush on fire that started prior to the show & also bc fire has been so far quite a confusing character. I do love dynamite as a character though, he's really fun! but yeah tenprem really steal the show bruh, it's crazy how lovable they are as a ship & also as individual characters!!! so tbh I am afraid this is gonna be the first offgun show where they get together pretty early on, which has me a bit worried bc I've stated before that my favorite part of romances is before the 'getting together' and that it can easily get boring afterward. THAT BEING SAID! shows where the characters get together early can be good (abaab & msp for example, which I am really hoping cc is gonna follow in terms of execution & quality till the end), and this will hopefully be the case for this. I think though that prem is not gonna jump into the relationship that easily bc he feels guilty about charging ten that much money, and also he's been established as a stubborn character so I see him as not admitting his feelings easily. they also both need to get over the apple plot point where prem discovers apple's character is not ten's gf so I'm thinking they're not gonna get together before like ep 7 or 8, after which they'll have to face ten's dad being a fucking asshole & prem giving back the money to ten. OH & there's also ten being jealous of chef chang ma, which will come later bc we need the cooking gang to get accepted in the super monster chef competition first! anyways, lots of plot points to hit, which makes sense why the show feels like it advances at quite a fast yet good pace. I'm so so so excited to see ten confess his feelings first though bro, off's confessions are always so good & the sean & khai ones from not me & tol are burned in my mind forever!!!

My MSP questions that may or may not have answers, they can also be script magic and totally not deep. The answered ones will be moved to the end in orange. Green ones are recently added.
Why did Gun dream of Tinn in the first episode?
Is the T-rex plushie on Gun's backpack going to have a back story or why is it on screen so much?
What did Tinn mean by "it will be unforgettable, even if you want to forget it?"
Who ordered the food? If it was Tinn, how did Gun knew it was him?
Did Gun made the milk/ice for chinzhilla back in EP 1? Mom told him to do it, so then in episode 5, why did he say he didn't remember how to do it as it has been a long time since the last time he did it?
How did the "i will befriend him and ask for his homework" guy become the "I'd rather sing naked than to ask something from him"?
What does Tinn's mom think of Gun?
How did our guy manage to get Tiwson out of the scene to dance with Tinn?
This is pure due to ignorance about guitars, but are gun's acoustic guitar and Tinn's dad one truly different or why did they need to get one for Yo. Was that for the plot or is Gun's guitar the one that his dad bought him on his birthday and he doesn't want someone who isn't him to play that one?
Did Tiwson and Tinn met in the crosswords club?
Is Por really naive or is he hiding behind that precious little smile of him?
How the fuck does Gun's memory work? 🤨 I'm judging Mr reach out first and then do as if you don't remember the head of class guy.
Did no one saw that gun drawing tinn did on the temple concert documentation???
Is Tinn allowed to come to the temple concert again as judge or is he banned due to bribing (with charm) the attendants? (They got more donations, will money overcome fairness?)
Are we going to get more scenes of classmates chatting about the supposed student council vs music club situation?
What is tinn's mom relationship with the music club and overall, music? Why is her hubby hiding his own guitar from her?
Is chinzhilla THAT DUMB or are they just waiting for gun to confirm and be all like "wbk"?
What will be Kajorn's reaction when seeing that his adored school president is in love with chinzhilla's leader?
Did gun knew it was Tinn's birthday that day in the shop? Was it an impulse or was it planned? Why that specific song?
Did Tinn really go just one time to the shop in those two years of pining?
How will Tinn tell Gun that the guitar Yo's been using is his dad's? How will Tinn tell dad that he lent his favorite guitar to a boy in the music club?
Tinn and his mom drive everyday to school together allegedly, how did the guy manage to get his dad's guitar out of the house? 😂
How did Sound's and Tinn's rivalry start? Because Sound wouldn't take anyone as his rival, Tinn has something more to him. 😌
Why did Gun ask Tinn to be dance partners?
Are we gonna get a scene or something of gun opening up with his band and friends as Tinn does with Tiw?
Why did sound get to this school in the middle of their last year?
If Tiwsonpor is a thing, when did it start?
Who will be the first couple to announce that they're dating openly?
Is tinn's mom or dad related to gun's dad in any way?
Is win going to be able to achieve his dreams?
Did no one really see tinngun's pool scene in EP 6?
How will sound react when he gets to know that his lifetime rival is in love with his band's leader? How will he react when knowing that gun loves him back and Tinn is not a common enemy?
Is pat going to be the single token of chinzhilla till the end?
EP 1 Why is that car going so slow at the back? R: EP 2
EP 4 What happened with gun's dad? R: EP 5 AND 6
EP 2 Most questions about the dating rule has been kind of answered in EP 7, we'll see if they go more in depth.
EP 6 Sound pretty much thinks nothing of the dating rule but the minute Win mentioned that if he's not dating he won't accept anyone else dating he was convinced to remove the rule in EP 7
Yak will be training Chinzhilla in EP 9
This post will be edited when more questions come to mind.

ok. so... both winny and satang prepared a surprised gift for each other. during the msp vietnam fm, satang gave winny a speaker with a certain model because he knows winny wanted it (so he could listen to the hiphop music that he loves with good quality sound). satang noticed that winny loves listening to hiphop when he rode in his car sometimes ago.
and now, during their birthday event today, winny gave satang airpods (with a model he carefully chose that fits him best) because he knows satang had been complaining about using his old ones for so long. winny once posted a video of himself and satang on twitter during the ourskyy2xmsp filming, talking about his lost earphones in which he asked satang to buy him a new one. but then satang added that he didn't have money and that he also had been using his (earphones/airpods) for five years and they started to worn out, so he asked winny to give him the money so that he could also buy a new one for himself as well.
the way they pay attention to these little details of the other i'm --- 💙🤍💙🤍
the stories are from here and here and here.

Incident Report for March 18XX
Writing this from an undisclosed location. Please destroy your copy of this once you’ve read it. Can’t afford to blow my cover.
I’ve ingratiated myself into a Ministry’s internal affairs department. I won’t say which, for security reasons, but let’s say that it has provided me with much closer access to the Bazaar. I hope to study their movements and provide clearer information about the suspected activities of MF.  MF’s sudden interest in certain industries must mean something, though as of yet I cannot determine what. I am under the impression this may be an attempt to encroach on MSP’s territory- infighting, perhaps?  Given that MF and MSP have not been outwardly hostile before, I can only imagine there is more going on there.
Infighting could be good for the cause, but I worry too much will destabilise London before we are ready to deal with the consequences. Total liberation cannot be achieved if half the city is obliterated by a tyrant’s temper tantrum. Again. Back to the usual reporting- today under the guise of delivering permits, I snuck into the back of one of MF’s processing plants and witnessed an unusual altercation. MP had apparently been visiting; abnormal behaviour, as MF and MP are not allies as far as we are aware. We may need to look into that- I will see if some recent censorship has MF’s grubby fingerprints on it. The Ministry of Public Decency has been used for governmental overreach by other Masters before. Perhaps MF needed something covered up. Then again, no such conversation was had. It was mostly pointless, unnecessary bickering. Perhaps the two have some dispute. I will have to ask those who keep a closer eye on MP if it has been acting strangely lately. Perhaps something to do with the printing presses? They are technically machines- MF may have some claim, whether real or imagined. That could be an interesting angle to work if we wanted to pit them against one another.
Regardless, the conversation was mostly whispered, so I did not get a clear picture of what exactly they were arguing about. I have a feeling it may come in handy to get a better idea later.  I will have to ask around and see what I can find.
I will report with more information later. For now, au revoir. May the month serve you well.
Collected Notes on The Frigid-Hearted Professor
I have been hearing reports through a mutual associate that there has been reported engagement between MW and The Frigid-Hearted Professor (henceforth abbreviated Professor FH). Professor FH is not usually the type to become involved in any of MW’s ventures, which is why this stood out to me.
His history is much easier to find than I would have expected. Respectable background, sudden and intense fall from grace alongside the fall from the Surface, a rocky history, a brief period of something resembling a normal life, and then he completely fell off the map. It’s a tale as old as time, down here. The Neath takes as much as it gives. In this case, it has definitely given more than it has taken. I will admit I feel a bit sorry for the poor fellow. I cannot imagine the isolation is doing him any favours. Well, I would feel sorry for him. He has been, according to various sources, buying up a great deal of Black Wing Absinthe. Which is likely not a good sign. I am not as familiar with the stuff, but I have a contact who has dealt with past Vake Hunters. They are… not the easiest people to get along with. Something about that one specific bounty drives people to lengths most would consider untenable. The reward money is a great deal of money, enough for most people to live comfortably for the rest of their lives, and for future generations to do so as well.  Still, I don’t think I believe that is what is drawing Professor FH to this particular hunt. From what little I’ve learned about him, I don’t think money is a particularly strong motivator. I mean, he lives in the Marshes. I can think of few places worse to live in than those awful, awful marshes.
I digress. When I discovered the issue of the Black Wing Absinthe, I presumed that MW had been keeping an eye on his purchases and was perhaps monitoring the situation itself. Which would be unusual, but alcohol of all kinds does fall under its domain. Perhaps MW suspects some sort of illegal smuggling? Given Professor FH’s history of (admittedly petty) crime, that is not entirely unlikely, though I doubt it would have been enough to warrant such personal attention. MW is not the kind of Master to do its own work. It has servants for that.
Perhaps some other plot of its has Professor FH as a key element? Who knows. It may very well simply have hired him for some sort of work. It would not be the first time for such things. Either way, I suggest we keep an eye on their interactions until we can know for certain. Whatever Professor FH and MW are getting up to, it could be troublesome. I would not like to have to work around the two of them if they were in league with one another.
Either way, however, there’s nothing much I can do for now. I will send a follow-up if I learn more. May the month serve you well.
Incident Report for May 18XX
I’m sending this letter more as a warning than a formal report. Please follow standard protocol with this missive once you’ve read it.
MW and MSP are fighting again. It appears to be more viscous than their usual fare, which leads me to believe it will begin to bleed out across several areas of London. Commerce, at the very least, will likely be tense for some time. I’d also suggest informing any operatives working closely under/around either to take caution. Now seems like a very good time to get one’s head severed from their body for minor offences. MW and MSP were spotted in a small stretch of processing facilities in Spite; I believe there was disputed Ministry territory nearby, and they had come to sort something out, only to end up in a conflict. They left the area rather disturbed- I believe that factory will remain abandoned for some time.
I managed to get close enough to record their conversation. Below is a transcription of their conversation. Read at your own risk.
MW: We think you are being purposefully obstinate to get a rise out of Us, and We will not be falling for the bait. We have better things to do than feed into your delusions. MSP: I’m the delusional one? Me? You must have hit the bottle too hard today. I am being perfectly rational in my demands.
MW: We will concede nothing! You have not won. You are the one insisting that We give up something that is rightfully Ours.
MSP: You are such a sore loser. One would think with how often one has lost in all things, that you would have gotten used to it by now. MW: We are- no. We have already said our piece. You are pressing your luck. You always do this! You always insist on being covetous- first with your encroachment on our territory, and now with this petty dispute of yours. It is a bad look on you. MSP: You are just too frightened of facing the consequences of your own failings. I suppose I cannot have expected better from you of all people. Your own failings got you stuck down here, and you’d rather play at being allies than actually-
MW; We are done with this conversation! We have nothing else to say to the likes of you. If you wish to whine some more, we suggest finding someone who will care to listen, because it will not be us.
MSP: You are running away with your tail between your legs! Again! Upset because I am right-
MW: Good day!
After this exchange, MW stormed off and MSP began to look a little twitchy, so I made the decision to get out of the building before it started on a rampage of its own. As you can see, something has definitely happened between the two of them. I am unsure as to what, but it spells terrible things for London’s immediate safety. I will report back with more information once I’ve determined what has caused such intense conflict.
May the month serve you well.
Compiled Notes on The Avaricious Meddler
Recently I’ve received reports of rumours involving supposed fighting between The Avaricious Meddler (henceforth abbreviated AM) and MF. This intrigued me, so I have decided to do some digging into the matter.
The first thing I ought to note is that it is extraordinarily hard to pin down a consistent history for AM. Frankly, I could not even tell you how old they are. It does not help that AM has a decent enough cover-identity that discovering what they are up to at any given moment is near impossible. Though, I do find that particular skill of theirs highly intriguing. Would that half the people I know were so good at blending in. We’d lose far less operatives, surely.
Regardless, what I can tell you is that they appear to be causing MF a world of trouble. I have never seen MF so obviously irritated. Well, more so than usual. MF is always irritated. I cannot speak to what AM is doing to cause this- I have noticed one of MF’s usual henchmen, whose name I dread even abbreviating in case it summons him like an evil spirit, has been suspiciously active. Not in his usual ways- activity at the Docks has slowed down considerably. No, something else is going on there. I would bet both my arms that it has to do with AM’s sudden uptick in activity. Perhaps AM has stolen something? Foiled some plan? Skipped out on coal taxes one time too many? I will have to ask around some.
Perhaps I will ask around the University. There has been some kind of hubbub in those circles as of late. I cannot say for sure any of these facts are connected, but one never knows? In this line of work, I’d not rule anything out.
And until I get confirmation on just what AM is planning, I will have to discreetly keep an eye out for them. I wonder if I can get into some of their usual haunts. I’m not one for the rooftops myself, but they have been spotted around Urchins a number of times. Maybe one of them will speak to me. That is all I have to share for now. May the month serve you well.
Incident Report for June, 18XX
I witnessed today an encounter between MH and MV that may be another sign of the increased infighting between the various parties in London.
MH and MV are not a pair I usually see in my observations. MH is not the most sociable of them, from what I have gathered, or at the very least keeps odd hours, and MV is volatile enough that most of the others avoid it. And yet there they were, outside a set of factories in Spite, conversing. If I did not see it with my own two eyes I would not have believed it.
I immediately set myself up to continue observing. In Spite, pretending to be engrossed in the fabric market is an excellent way to keep oneself faded into the background. I did end up having to buy several yards of cheap linen, but it was worth it to get a sense of what they were talking about.
It seemed to be a rather heated argument of some kind. I couldn’t get enough of it to compile a transcript- MV speaks rather low at times- but the gist of it seemed to be about a debt to be repaid. Perhaps those rumours of MV’s struggling factories were not too far off. I ought to look into it. Another project for the list. Whatever the case may be, the reminder seemed to upset MV, worse than usual. MH was as jovial as ever, perhaps moreso. It must be owed a great deal. Or it delights in causing its companion grief.
It said something further to its companion, and this seemed to be some sort of tipping point. MV got in extraordinarily close, and then it appeared to bite MH.  Admittedly I nearly blew my cover out of shock. I know that MV has never been the most sociable of the Bazaar, but I never in my life would have expected to see it bite another of its fold in public. It must be under a special sort of duress.
Whatever this debt of its is, it must be causing a great deal of trouble. Perhaps we can use this. I will endeavour to find out what is going on so that we might use it to further our own goals. Until then, may the Month serve you well.
Incident Report for July, 18XX
I am going to quit this life and flee back to the Surface to raise goats in some far-flung mountain.
I have been investigating the aforementioned incidents that have been plaguing London as of late. It’s tedious, stressful work, wading through records about trade and any odd rumours about their activities. It’s been a lot of work, but I hadn’t made much progress. Until today. I met up with someone who works rather closely with one of the Masters. They’re by no means a confidante, but they hear much more than the average Londoner. I chanced asking them about my research, and they looked rather tired for a moment. They then proceeded to explain that for the past several months, the Masters have all been at one another’s throats over a disagreement. I asked what kind, and after a long period of silence they explained that the Masters had, in a moment of unexpected levity, deigned to play a game of cards together. This had, apparently, gone horribly. As in, broken furniture, bones, and alliances horribly. Some of them are still not even speaking to each other. Every Ministry has felt the effects of their terrible moods.
Hearing this admittedly made me want to slam my head through the table. Which means all of this infighting, all of these strange shadowy movements, all of the anxiety I have experienced in the past few months, all of it was because of a game of cards!? And not even one of the important ones!?
What a waste of time. Well, at least now we know what has been happening. Perhaps they will get over this petty squabble soon. Perhaps something new will have them all taking sides again, and the cycle will keep continuing until the next city falls on our heads. It doesn’t matter. All we can be sure of is that they will continue to be a problem until our plans succeed.
I don't even know who will read this. My lines have been dead for weeks. I may be the only one left in this circle. No matter. I will keep doing my job. I will keep my eyes on the shadowed movements of our oppressive tyrants and my fingers in every plot to thwart them. For all of London’s sake, the show must go on. May the month serve you well.
