You don’t know how long you’ve been running. You don’t know how long you can keep running. Your legs are burning, and so are your lungs as you race through the hedge maze. Part of you always thought there was something off about Oliver. The way he wormed his way into Felix’s life. The way people around the two of you started dropping like flies. First it was Annabel. Then Oliver’s former friend, Michael, who you were partnered with for a tutorial. Then it was India. And now, today? You saw what he did to Farleigh. Saw him remove that stupid Ghostface mask and grin down as Farleigh choked on his own blood.
It was the quiet gasp you let out that alerted him to your presence. Or maybe it’s just what made him look at you and he was aware all along. Maybe he wanted you to see the violence he was capable of. He gave you that smile that once seemed so innocent to everyone, but now you knew better. You took off running, intent on warning Felix. As far as you knew, he was in the backyard, smoking.
Oliver’s footsteps echoed after you on the stone walkway as you ran for dear life, his voice calling out, an almost playful undertone to it, “Come on, love. I won’t bite. Unless you want me to… Let’s just talk about what you think you saw…”
It was obvious to anyone with eyes that you fancied Farleigh, your best friend Felix’s cousin. Felix had always tried to warn you off of him, that Farleigh would never be the right guy for you. But you ignored his words and continued fantasizing about the curly haired boy of your dreams. What was also obvious to anyone with eyes was that Felix fancied you. He was always so protective, so possessive. And yet, you always said he was like a brother to you.
You find him in the hedge maze, running into his waiting arms, breaking down into tears. You know Felix and Oliver have been an item this whole summer, though they thought you didn’t realize, but you know. Felix cups your face in his hands, asking what’s wrong in that sweet, gentle voice of his. Your voice trembles as you speak and you try to tell him what you saw. Your words come out all too fast.
“Oliver… Farleigh… He…”
Felix wraps you in his arms, his body shaking with what you can only assume to be sobs. You run your hand up and down his back, trying to soothe him. Farleigh’s gone. And Oliver is a killer. Then you hear it.
He wasn’t crying at all.
He was laughing.
Felix gives you a wry little smile and immediately, you turn to run, only to see Oliver. The two of them corner you in the maze, your heart hammering against your ribcage as you stare at the boys. Oliver’s face is still covered in Farleigh’s blood, and your jaw drops in horror as Felix kisses him without any hesitation.
Farleigh’s blood coats both of their lips as they turn to smirk at you. You try to duck out from under Felix’s arm, but he grabs you by the waist, holding you against the wall of the maze. Oliver grabs your wrists, pinning them to the wall as well.
It shouldn’t excite you, the way the two of them look at you like they want to devour you. They pull their Ghostface masks on, and you can feel their eyes on you as they drag you out to the field. You cry out as they stare down at you, and you hate that you’re enjoying the attention they’re giving you. Oliver pulls a knife from his pocket, still wet from Farleigh’s blood, using it to cut open the top of your dress. He trails it along your body and you just know he’s smirking under that fucking mask.
Felix’s hands slide up your legs, to the apex between your thighs, chuckling as he feels the wetness pooling there, “I thought you loved Farleigh, Princess. But here you are. Wet like a dirty little slut for the two who killed him.”
Your eyes go wide as Oliver undoes his jeans, freeing his cock. He grabs it, giving it one quick tug, slapping it against your lips, making you whimper. You hear him laugh under the mask, the sound slightly muffled.
“Open wide, love. Let’s see what that mouth can do.”
He’s so fucking big that you’re almost gagging without his whole cock even being in your mouth. Ollie begins to fuck your throat, a hand running through your hair almost affectionately while Felix fucks with you with his fingers. He lets out a low groan as your pussy squeezes around him, rasping through the mask as he adds a finger, hooking them in a curved come hither motion, rubbing right up against that rough patch deep inside of you. Your toes curl and you moan around Ollie’s cock, feeling his hand tighten in your hair.
Your eyes are wide as the two of them stare down at you in those eerie masks, Felix’s head tilted to the side in a way that feels almost condescending. You don’t understand. You shouldn’t like this. They’re murderers. And Felix is your best friend. You swore you managed to get rid of that pesky crush a long time ago. But now, with three fingers buried knuckle-deep inside of you while you choke on his other lover’s cock? You think that it’s quite possible you never quite got over that crush.
Ollie spills himself on your tongue with a groan, removing his mask. Felix does the same and you watch as the two of them kiss. Oliver’s hands twist in Felix’s hair while Felix continues pumping his fingers in and out of you at a steady rhythm until you reach the pinnacle of your ecstasy, crying out both of their names, your eyes rolling back, your toes curling as white hot pleasure shoots throughout your body. Felix leans down, breaking away from Oliver, and presses a kiss to your lips while Oliver nips at your neck, hands moving to squeeze your tits.
“Are you going to kill me too?” You ask after Felix pulls away for breath.
He and Oliver exchange a look before shaking their heads, the latter speaking up, “We have no intention of doing that, love.”
Felix brushes his thumb against your lower lip, “You’re our final girl. All of this was to get to you. And we don’t plan on letting go that easily.

You Drive Me Crazy - Monkey D. Luffy x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Wandering a new town with Luffy makes you give into your feelings for him
Words: 2.2k
warning: none
Y/N’s POV
As we step off the Thousand Sunny onto the weathered wooden planks of the port, the air thrums with a vibrant energy that’s palpable. The town stretches out before us, a colourful tapestry of bustling streets lined with shops flaunting an array of goods, from exotic fruits to peculiar trinkets. The scent of saltwater intermingles with the atomic wafts of street food, drawing me deeper into this lively maze of a town.
Luffy, of course, is first off the ship, bounding with a contagious enthusiasm as always, “Let’s explore!” He grins, his russet eyes twinkling with anticipation.
Before I can even reply, Luffy has grabbed my hand and begun dragging me in one direction while the rest of the crew disperses, each drawn to their own curiosities. Luffy and I have unwittingly wandered into a maze of alleys, absorbed in the town’s enchanting chaos.
“Whoa, look at that!” Luffy pants excitedly at a display of vibrant fabrics hanging from a nearby stall. With a burst of enthusiasm, Luff charges towards the stall, his eyes wide with wonder as he examines the vivd fabrics. His excitement is infectious, and despite my attempt to catch up, his strides are longer, leaving me to trail behind.
“Luffy! Wait up!” I call out between giggles, trying to keep pace with his uncontainable energy.
Suddenly, as if he realises he’s moved too far ahead, Luffy halts and turns around, a wide grin splitting his face, “Oh, sorry, Y/N!” His hand shoots out instinctively, finding mine in the midst of the bustling crowds. My cheeks flush at the unexpected contact, a warmth spreading from where our hands touch. It’s a simple gesture, his fingers loosely intertwining with mine, but it sends a jolt of butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
“It’s okay,” I manage to reply, trying to steady my voice, though my heart is racing. Walking side by side, hand in hand with Luffy, feels both surreal and strangely comforting. His grip is firm yet gentle, and his infectious excitement continues to bubble up.
As we navigate the colourful streets hand in hand, Luffy’s enthusiasm leads us on a whirlwind tour of the town. His eyes light up at every new discover—a street performer captivating a crowd with juggling tricks, a tantalising aroma wafting from a bustling food cart, and the vibrant tapestry of local art adorning the walls of narrow alleyways.
“Lufe, maybe we should try and find the rest of the crew.” I suggest gently, trying to steer our exploration towards reuniting with the rest of the Straw Hats, especially Zoro who has absolutely no sense of direction.
“Hmmm, yeah! Food first, though.” Luffy grins, his stomach rumbling audibly in agreement. He squeezes my hand lightly before leading the way, his strides purposeful as he follows his nose in pursuit of a tantalising scent. We traverse through a maze of alleys, peeking into quirky shops and exchanging smiles with locals. Despite the urgency to regroup, there’s an undeniable thrill in discovering the town’s hidden gems alongside Luffy.
It makes me want to be brave and bold. The impulse hits me like a sudden gust of wind, a surge of courage mingled with the thrill of the moment. Without much thought, I tug Luffy down a secluded alleyway, away from the bustling crowds, his puzzled expression asking the unspoken question.
“Y/N?” He blinks, caught off guard by the sudden shift in your trajectory. Before I can second-guess myself, I halt us in a secluded nook, where the sound of the bustling town fades into a distant murmur. My heart pounds in my chest, adrenaline coursing through me as I turn to face him. In the quiet intimacy of the secluded alleyway, where the town's vibrant chaos faded into a distant hum, I grappled with the weight of unspoken emotions. My attempts to voice the tangled mess of feelings faltered, lost amidst the charged air that enveloped us.
“Lufe…” I start to speak, my voice trembling with a mix of nervousness and determination, trying to formulate my thoughts as his gaze, unwavering yet expectant, meets mine, a silent invitation to unravel the unspoken words between us. But before I can gather the courage to speak, a flicker of movement—the swift swipe of his tongue over his bottom lip—sends a jolt through me, a jolt through me, a momentary distraction that leaves me spellbound. Driven by an overwhelming rush of emotion, I act on impulse, my hands finding their place on his shoulders. With a mixture of anticipation and nervousness, I guide him backwards until his back meets the solid embrace of the alley’s wall.
“Lu.. I…” I try to confess, the words escaping in a soft exhale, tinged with vulnerability, “You drive me fucking crazy.” I mutter more to myself than him, my cheeks burning with a blend of embarrassment and raw honesty.
In that suspended moment, where the world fades into insignificance and all that exists is the fragile space between us, I lean in. Our lips meet, tentative yet fervent, in a collision that feels like a confession whispered against the canvas of the quiet alleyway.
His lips, warm and tender, surprise me by responding with a hesitance that mirrors my own. It’s a dance of uncertainty and longing, an unspoken exchange that thrums with uncharted territory and the untold stories hidden within us. As our breaths mingle and the kiss deepens, it’s a tentative exploration, a voyage into uncharted waters of intimacy. Each touch, each brush of his lips against mine, is a revelation—an awakening that crackles with an exhilarating newness and an unspoken understanding that transcends mere words.
Breaking the kiss feels like severing a fragile thread connecting us, the weight of uncertainty settling upon my shoulders like an unwelcome burden. I’m hesitant to meet Luffy’s gaze, unsure of what lays behind those eyes—was it merely a response to my impulsive action, or did it echo the silent sentiments I harboured?
I step back, a tentative distance between us, the quiet of the alleyway suddenly suffocating. The moment hangs in the hair, the echo of our shared kiss lingering on my lips, something sweet and Luffy-esque. Avoiding his eyes, I find myself grappling with a whirlwind of emotions, a tempest of hope and fear swirling within.
Before I can fathom his response or make sense of the sudden silent tension, Luffy’s left arm swoops around my waist with practiced ease. There’s no time to react as he effortlessly lifts me, prompting my legs to instinctively encircle his waist. His right hand is warm as it finds the back of my neck, guiding my face down towards his, and before I can protests or resist, like I actually would, his lips crash against mine in a fervent embrace.
My back meets the unyielding surface of the alleyway wall this time, the impact jolting me into the present moment. There’s a rush of heat and urgency in the way his lips meld with mine, a passionate hunger that takes me by surprise. His kiss is a tempest, a whirlwind that pulls me deeper into the unspoken connection between us. The weight of his touch, the searing fervour of our shared intimacy, sends a shockwave of conflicting emotions through me.
Our lips collide over and over again in a fervent dance, a tumultuous tangle of emotions woven into the fervour of our shared embrace. Luffy’s touch, both tender and ardent, sends a cascade of sensations through me, the heat of his palm against my waist searing through the fabric. My own hands find refuge in the soft but tousled strands of his hair, a silent plea for grounding amidst the whirlwind of emotions. As our mouths meld in an urgent exchange, his fingers trial along the curve of my back, a fiery caress that ignites a symphony of sensations. The weight of his touch, the way he draws me closer in an embrace that’s both fierce and tender, speaks volumes where words fail.
We linger in that impassioned embrace, an unspoken understanding passing between us, a silent dialogue in the language of touch. Each press of our bodies against each other feels like a desperate attempt to bridge the gap between uncertainty and longing. But the need for air becomes a pressing reality, an unspoken signal that interrupts the fervour. Reluctantly, we draw apart, breaths mingling in the shared space between us. Our gazes meet, a silent understanding passing between us, the residue of shared intimacy and unanswered questions hanging heavy in the air.
In that suspended moment, the air between us seems charged with unspoken revelations, the weight of our shared connection palpable. My cheeks flush with warmth, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips, mirroring the one on Luffy's face—a silent acknowledgment of the shared understanding between us.
“I didn’t realise you wanted it to.” I murmur, my voice soft and laced with a blend of bashfulness and contentment, the surge of warmth spreading through me as our eyes meet.
“I like kissing you.” Luffy admits, his words hanging in the charged atmosphere, his cheeks tinted with a shy hue that mirrors my own. His gaze flits down to my lips, an unspoken invitation that lingers between us.
Before I can fully comprehend his words, he leans in once again, his lips finding mine in a tender yet fervent embrace. His kiss is a revelation, an electrifying sensation that ignites a fiery longing within me. As his lips mold against mine, I feel an inexplicable surge of warmth and a sense of belonging wash over me.
His tongue dips into the dance, an exploration that sends shivers down my spine, an intimate connection that speaks volumes of unspoken desire. The sensation is electric, a mixture of fervour and tenderness that takes my breath away. Then, with a daring passion, he trails his lips along the curve of my neck, leaving an indelible mark—a soft, heated exchange that leaves a tingling sensation in its wake. His fervent gesture evokes a flutter of anticipation and a rush of emotions, the tender contact sending ripples of desire through me.
The alleyway seems to fade into insignificance as the world narrows down to the electrifying touch of his lips against my skin. The rush of emotions—desire, longing, and an unspoken connection—becomes a silent symphony in the quiet embrace of that moment.
After marking my neck with a couple of lingering kisses, Luffy returns to my lips, a renewed hunger in his touch, a passionate hunger that speaks of unspoken desires. Our kiss becomes a passionate exchange, a dance of emotions that transcends the tangible, leaving me breathless and wanting more, lost in the whirlwind of our unspoken connection.
In the midst of our make-out session, the alleyway is suddenly filled with the sound of approaching footsteps, an unexpected intrusion into the bubble of intimacy we've woven around ourselves. The air crackles with an unspoken tension as Sanji, Nami, and Zoro materialise at the end of the alleyway, their expressions ranging from surprise to a hint of amusement.
Sanji's eyes widen, caught off guard by the unexpected sight, a mix of disbelief and curiosity flickering across his features. Nami's gaze flits between Luffy and me, a subtle quirk of her eyebrow betraying her surprise, while Zoro, ever stoic, seems to register the situation with a muted incredulity. But amidst the surprise of being caught in such a compromising position, Luffy doesn't lower me to the ground. Instead, he remains composed, his arms still securely holding me, a carefree grin lighting up his face. "Oh! Hi guys!" he calls out cheerfully, as if the current situation were the most normal thing in the world.
My cheeks flush with heat, a mixture of embarrassment and disbelief at the unexpected interruption. I can feel their eyes on us, their varied reactions a tableau of surprise and amusement. It's as though time has frozen, the unspoken tension between Luffy and me hanging palpably in the air, unacknowledged but impossible to ignore.
Luffy's nonchalant greeting, coupled with the lack of any attempt to explain or release me, adds a surreal edge to the moment. Despite the interruption, he seems unfazed, his carefree demeanour standing in stark contrast to the tension that simmers between us.
"Uh, hey," I manage to utter, my voice a mix of awkwardness and attempt at normalcy, my gaze darting between the surprised faces of our crewmates and the unyielding hold Luffy maintains, refusing to let me go.
Sanji's lips part as if to say something, but he's momentarily lost for words, a mixture of astonishment and curiosity written across his face. Nami, on the other hand, lets out an amused chuckle, a knowing glint in her eyes that betrays her thoughts, while Zoro's impassive expression remains unchanged, though a hint of bemusement lurks in his eyes.
Luffy finally puts me down but slides his hand into mine, squeezing lightly and his russet eyes shine with joy and excitement before he says something oh so Luffy-like:
“Let’s eat!”

Title: Look At You
Eddie Munson X Female Reader
Additional Characters: Reader's friend, Hellfire Club (Mentioned), Reader's mother, and Chris (OC)
Loosely Inspired By: One Of Your Girls by Troye Sivan
WC: 11,764
Warnings: Parties briefly mentioned, vomit briefly mentioned, alcohol (teens mentioned drinking), drugs, Reader's a bit shy in the beginning, movie references, nicknames, Reader's mother is emotionally/verbally/mentally abusive, fear of needles, friends to lovers, yelling, crying, cursing, teasing, banter, flirting, very brief mentions of food issues, angst, and fluff
You scrunched your shoulders closer to yourself, your hands clutched your book to your chest with an iron grip as your friend dragged you into some party. Your senses were overwhelmed by the loud pulsating music rattling the entire house, echoing and reverberating throughout your body as you pushed through the hordes of drunk teenagers; the smell of vomit and alcohol made you scrunch up your nose in disgust.
It was the perfect combination to make the night miserable; the smell, the noise, and most importantly, the people. You were not very much of a people person. When meeting someone, or talking to someone new, you were quiet; shy. But, once you grew comfortable with the person, you would talk and talk.
Parties were the bane of your existence, and so was your friend. You loved your friend dearly, but you hated when they convinced you, more like peer pressure, you into going to dumb parties. You got out of them somewhat, faking an illness or your need to finish your homework, but that would only help you for so long. You could've been home, eating junk food, watching ‘Labyrinth’ for the ten millionth time as you idolized Jennifer Connelly.
Your sweet daydreams were quickly cut short though as your friend pulled you into the main room full of sweaty teens, dancing wildly around each other as the lights from the ceiling threw shadows all over the place. You cringed at how much louder the music had gotten as ‘You Spin Me Round’ played from a large speaker in the corner of the room.
Your friend's hand around your bicep shook, gaining your attention. You turned to them, seeing the bright smile on their face and the excitement in their eyes. You'd feel happy for them, but you were very overwhelmed and uncomfortable at that moment.
"Hey!" They called over the music, their body already dancing to the music slightly. "I'm going to say hey to Brian and Allison. Go to the kitchen and get a drink, you need it! Loosen up and have fun for once!"
You had to suppress the urge to roll your eyes as you watched your friend leave you, rushing to a small group of teens, red solo cups and beer bottles in their hands. You felt fear engulf you, your whole body growing cold as you looked around the room rapidly, your eyes darting at the dancing teens and the bright party lights. Your heart began to race in your chest, you couldn't breathe, and it was all becoming too profoundly difficult to stay in that room. You mustered up the strength to push through the crowd, as if going through a maze of people you tried to squeeze through; finally making your way out the back sliding door.
Breathing deeply as you stood outside, you let out a breath of relief. Your head spun a little bit, feeling dizzy at the sudden change in environment, but you tried your best to stay calm. Looking down at your hands, you let out another breath, glad your book made it out of that warzone without a rip or tear.
"You okay?" You heard a voice speak up, much louder than the music pumping behind you; muffled by the sliding glass door. You quickly turned to the voice, seeing a guy leaning against the wall of the house, knee bent and foot pressed against it; his hands stuffed in his pockets. He was looking up at the sky, not even looking at you. You stared at him before you looked around you, no one else was outside, aside from you and him.
You swallowed thickly, "Me?" You asked, turning back to the young man, slightly shrouded by the awning; casting him in a dark shadow.
"You're the only one out here with me, correct?" He asked, pushing off of the wall to turn and finally look at you. "You looked pretty frazzled when you came out." He then added, making you narrow your eyes at him slightly.
"Why do you care?" You asked, normally you were so forward when talking to new people, but you were really annoyed, tired, and wanted to go home.
"I'm not like those brain dead zombies in there," He said, stepping into the light, finally allowing you to see who you were talking to. "I'm Eddie."
He had long, curly dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a rockstar type of style. You watched as he pulled his hands out of his black ripped jeans pockets, noting the rings adorning some of his fingers as he crossed his arms; noticing his leather jacket with a denim vest over it. It looked homemade, with rips and tears; patches of rock bands and pins. He was cute, you'd give him that. Looking back up at his face, you realized that you should've been talking a while ago.
"I- I'm Y/N." You introduced yourself, noticing a small tin box of some kind hanging from a clasp from his belt loop. "And I'm fine."
This... Eddie, just smiled at you, chuckling, "I'll believe that when I see it. You're shaking like a leaf." He mentioned, making you look down at yourself, seeing that you were in fact shaking. Well, mostly your hands. You clutched your book tighter, trying to stop them.
You looked up at the sky, or what you could see of it, away from Eddie and the partygoers. "I'm fine." You repeated softly, and Eddie hummed, looking you over.
"Not a party person?" He asked, and you remained silent as he continued, "Or people person? I mean, I get that. I don't care for it either." He shrugged as you looked at him again.
"Then why are you here?" Only to watch Eddie smirk, leaning his side against the side of the house.
"I could ask you the same." He said with a laugh.
"Touche." You mumbled as Eddie sighed softly, glancing off to the darkened yard before looking back at you.
"I'm here on business, but you... What about you?" He asked, and you sighed, looking back up at the night sky; seeing a few stars past the dark clouds.
"My friend dragged me here." You began, biting your lip briefly, "I didn't want to go, if they didn't take me I would-"
"Be cuddled up in a comfy blanket, watching a romcom or something?" Eddie interrupted you, and you shrugged one shoulder up.
"More or less. That is usually my evening. Relaxing or doing homework." You answered, growing more and more comfortable with Eddie as you talked to him. “But I’m not really a romcom kind of girl.”
Eddie hummed, before he grabbed the tin box at his hip, opened it, and pulled out what you assumed was a blunt. You assumed right as he brought it up to his lips, pulling out a lighter from his back jean pocket. He flicked it open with his thumb, before pushing down the thumbwheel. He did it a couple of times, with no luck of any flame. Sighing out his nose, he leaned his head back against the wall, frustrated. You stared at him, pursing your lips as you slowly dug into your pocket, pulling out your own lighter. Testing it, you pushed down the thumbwheel, sending out a little orange flame.
Eddie looked up at the sound of your lighter, "Wow, do you think you could give me a light here?" He asked you as you shut your lighter, pushing your finger over the metal cover, feeling the engraving.
Walking over, you moved your book under your arm as you stopped in front of Eddie. Flicking open the zippo lid, you created the flame as Eddie reached down to grab your wrist. You were surprised at how gentle he was as he raised your hand up, moving the end of his blunt to the open flame. Standing so close to him, he already smelt like cannabis, but also, surprisingly, strawberries. Letting out a puff of smoke through his nose, Eddie let go of your hand. You immediately missed the warmth, as the cold autumn air chilled your wrist. You quickly pushed that thought out and took a step back.
"Thanks, babe." Eddie winked at you, making your face warm up at the sudden nickname.
He then took another deep breath, letting out the smoke into the night air; you watched it swirl into nothingness. "You smoke?" He asked abruptly, breaking the silence between the two of you as if he didn't feel the awkward tension that you felt crawling down your spine.
"Ew, no. No. It's my father's." You explained swiftly, and Eddie nodded.
"Wicked," Eddie nodded, taking another drag from his blunt. "Better than my lighter for sure. Broken shit. Gotta get a new one." He mumbled to himself as you watched him.
"You know that's, like, bad for you, right?" You spoke up, “It could kill you.” Your nose scrunching up at the terrible smell as Eddie shrugged.
"Eh, that's just what society tells everyone.” He countered, “Besides, it calms me down, and believe me. I need to calm down." Eddie laughed out before he paused and turned to you, twisting the smoking blunt between his fingers. "I can put it out if you're uncomfortable though... Smoke and all." He offered and you shook your head. You didn't really care that much, you'd probably leave soon anyway; try and find your friend before they get too drunk and go home. Eddie let out the last bit of smoke before he dropped the dead blunt to the ground, crushing it with the heel of his white Reebok sneakers. "So," He began, stuffing his hands into his jeans pockets again. "Tell me about yourself, Y/N."
You turned to him, bewildered that he was still trying to talk to you. You didn't mind it, but normally people didn't talk to you long. Either getting bored of you or the conversation. And normally, you wouldn't be talking to strangers, especially guys. Especially a guy that you barely knew. And who was cute, but that was beside the point. "What's there to know?" You asked skeptically, watching as Eddie shrugged again, his head tilting to the side a bit.
"Well, I've never seen you around school before, which is crazy since I feel like if I saw you, I would've remembered meeting you." He stated, “Plus,” He added, “You seem like a fun girl to talk to." He pointed out, taking you back slightly. "I'd like to get to know you; if you’d let me." He finished, making your cheeks flush in shock and embarrassment.
"You... You want to get to know me?" You asked, bewildered and beyond dumbfounded as you watched Eddie nod his head with a smile on his face.
"I think you're pretty cool, so yeah... I'd like to get to know you." Eddie repeated, and you shook your head.
"I'm not that cool. I mean, we just met, like, ten minutes ago. How can you think I’m cool in that short amount of time?" You asked, making Eddie sputter out a laugh.
"Not cool? Impossible. Your style alone is cool, babe." He gestured to your attire with a hand before stuffing it back into his pocket; it was getting colder, but you didn’t seem to notice.
You looked down at your clothes, your rainbow-striped sweater, blue flared jeans, white socks, and your red hightop Converse. Nothing special, it wasn't like you looked as cool as him. Him and his punk leather, rockstar attitude. He was probably in a band or something. You looked back up at him, clutching your book as you spoke shortly, "Thanks. I like yours too."
Eddie's eyes widened slightly before he gave you a toothy grin, "Why, thank you, my lady." He bowed, making you laugh - a snort escaping - covering your mouth with your hand as his eyes lit up and he stood back up straight. Bringing a hand up, he ran a hand through his hair, his jacket sleeve moving up as he did so. Your eyes widened as you saw his arm, seeing a tattoo on his skin.
"You have a tattoo?" You asked in awe, as Eddie nodded.
"I actually have five." Eddie corrected, pulling down the collar of his band tee to reveal a tattoo on his chest, near his collarbone.
"Five? Wow," You replied, "I've always wanted a tattoo, but my mom is really not okay with them."
Eddie watched as you walked over, leaning against the wall beside him. "Really?" He asked, amazed by you as you nodded, a small smile on your face.
"Yeah, she thinks that it’s devil crap or something. I just think she needs to be more open minded." You replied, before looking up at Eddie. “And it may sound silly, but I never really knew what I would get if I got one… I just knew that I really wanted one - Something - anything.” You shrugged, shuffling the soles of your shoes on the patio concrete before continuing, "If I may, could I see the one?" You inquired and Eddie was happy to answer, pulling his sleeve up to show you his bats. He watched as your eyes lit up, your hand reaching forward, but freezing. You look up with your big eyes, looking right into his brown ones with uncertainty. "May I touch it?"
Eddie just smiled, "Go for it."
You reached out, before pressing your pointer finger along the small bats, outlining them. Your warm touch sent a shiver down Eddie's spine making him hold his breath as he watched you carefully. His brown eyes followed every movement of your finger, goosebumps appearing as your finger brushed against his skin. You were so gentle, kind; it made Eddie's chest feel warm.
"Did it hurt?" You asked, bringing your hand back to your side as you sputtered a short laugh, "Of course it had to of had to, silly questions."
Eddie shook his head, clearing his throat as he slid his sleeve back down. "No, not silly at all. It did hurt, especially my puppet master one, but the least of all was the bats."
You hummed with a small smile, "That's the one thing I'm scared of. I'm not good with pain. Needles scare the crap out of me." You admitted and Eddie’s grin widened, one of his shoes gently knocking into one of yours.
"Well, if you ever want to break some rules, I know a place. And, I'd be happy to tag along." Eddie softly offered, making you pause for a second, before nodding your head.
"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." You laughed, making Eddie’s grin soften slightly. You looked down at your wrist at your watch, seeing the time, your eyes widened, "Oh, goodness. It's very late. I need to get home."
"Need a ride?" He was quick to ask, not wanting your conversation to end, as you bit your lip, glancing inside the house through the glass sliding door; you were unable to find your friend in the crowd. You didn't want to have to go in there and find them. So, weighing your options, you looked up at Eddie.
"Yeah, a ride would be great."
~~~
From then on, you and Eddie were inseparable. Joined to the hip. At school, you ate lunch with him and his club friends, your chair incredibly close to his as you laughed along to something Eddie had said. You even stayed after school when Eddie had his Hellfire club, watching beside him - usually sat upon the cushioned arm of his throne, as he looked over his game as the game’s Dungeon Master.
Every day was a new experience for you. Spending time with Eddie made you forget all about your problems and worries at home. You found it easy to slip into normalcy, laughing with him and joking around. You never thought you would find someone who made you so happy, someone who made it so easy to just be yourself; without the fear of judgment or disappointment.
Eddie had such an easygoing nature about him, always having fun. There was something different about him that made you feel comfortable. And it wasn't long until you realized you had feelings for him. Which really scared you. These feelings... They were dangerous. But… You couldn't help it.
However, it did land you into some inner tumoral. Sometimes, your mind would begin to blank, your thoughts dwindling until all you thought about was how you wanted to run your fingers through his hair or press your lips to his. But just being able to simply sit next to him, listening to his voice, feeling his presence; was enough. That was enough for you.
~~~
Eddie pulled into your driveway, turning off the engine once parked. Turning to you, he watched as you unbuckled and grabbed your bag from between your feet; double-checking your bag to see if you had everything. You then turned to Eddie, seeing that he was already looking at you, startling you slightly, but making your cheeks flush.
"You got everything, babe?" He asked and you nodded, leaning over the middle console to press a kiss to Eddie's cheek.
"Thank you for driving me home, Eds." You replied and Eddie rolled his eyes jokingly.
"Y/N, baby, no need to thank me. It's what best friends do. I’ll call you when I get home." He shooed you along, making you laugh as you opened your door and hopped out.
Walking backwards, you waved goodbye as Eddie pulled out of the driveway, a bright smile on your face. Once he was out of sight, you let out a happy sigh, turning around and heading up the steps to your home. Finding the door already unlocked, like it was most days, you walked on in with a smile on your face. Kicking off your converse, you dropped your backpack at the stairs before passing the living room and heading to the kitchen.
"Y/N." Your mother's voice rang out, making you pause midstep, going back to the living room where your mother sat in her armchair, book in hand. She took her reading glasses off the bridge of her nose, closing them, and placing them on the small table beside her. She then stared at you, a frown on her face, her hands interlaced in her lap, "Have you been with that boy again?" Her tone was stern and demanding, making you bite your lip nervously as you looked down at the ground.
"Yes... Mom, I—" Before you could continue, she cut you off with a wave of her hand.
"Don't 'Mom' me. That boy is bad news. I told you to stay away from him." Her voice rose slightly in pitch and volume with each sentence.
"But-"
"And don't tell me how you feel about this, he's the devil! Playing those- those demonic games-”
"He's not the devil!" You shouted suddenly, causing your mother to jump slightly and stare at you. "I like him, okay?! I like him more than anyone I've ever met! He's my best friend and I can't just not hang out with him anymore." You finished your voice breaking as tears formed in your eyes.
Your mother blinked several times before standing up, walking over to you.
"Oh, my darling honey," She began as she cupped your cheeks in her hands, "It's not safe for you to get involved with those types of boys.” The cadence in her voice sounded like she was speaking to an errant child. “Now, I better not see you around him any longer or we might have to move again." She ended the conversation, pinching your cheek before she left for the kitchen.
You watched her leave, tears streaming down your face, completely heartbroken as you rubbed the cheek she pinched. She didn't understand Eddie, and she never would. But her threat frightened you. You knew that if she caught you with Eddie, she would move the two of you away again. She did it once, she’d do it again.
Grabbing your backpack, you headed straight to your room, forgetting about that snack you wanted as you shut your door. Dropping your bag, you finally let go, your chest rising and falling rapidly as you fell onto your bed. Laying on your stomach, you smashed your face onto your pillow, letting out a small, muffled sob as you began to cry. What else could you do? Before you could even start brainstorming ideas, you jumped slightly when you heard your phone ring, reaching over you, grabbing it, and bringing it to your ear.
"Hello?" You asked, clearing your throat and hoping you didn't sound as sad as you were.
"Hey! Babe! How's my favorite girl doing?"
Eddie.
Of course, it was Eddie. He said he was going to call you.
Your eyes widened as you struggled to sit up straight, "Eddie, you have to be quick, my mom could be listening." You whispered, hoping your mother ignored the phone but you still felt uneasy as you clutched the phone with a death-like grip.
Eddie pursed his lips in thought as he leaned against the wall of his trailer by the wall-mounted phone. You had only told Eddie about your mother once, but Eddie could tell from that one time that your mother was a tough subject for you, so he never pressed you further. Even though he had a lot of questions.
"Okay, okay! Don't worry, babe, alright? I'll be quick. Promise." Eddie assured, hearing movement on the other side of the line, "I just wanted to let you know that the meeting next week has been moved to five. Henderson has a dentist appointment or something after school."
You hesitated, biting your lip. "Okay, that's good to know. Thank you, Eddie." You spoke out with a breath.
Eddie began to twirl the phone cord between his fingers, his eyes staring at an old, discolored spot on the floor by his feet, "Are you okay?" He asked, and it seemed like a dumb question to him. Of course, you probably weren't okay. The way you sounded over the phone, he could hear how upset you were.
You paused, biting your lip, trying to think of anything, anything, to say. "What makes you ask that?" You replied. You hoped he wouldn't notice the slight shake in your voice.
"You sound kind of down," He replied, his voice low, his eyes focused on the discoloration, "I know I can't see you right now, but I bet you got a frown on that pretty face of yours." You sighed, and even though you still felt pretty terrible, hearing his voice, and just him in general, was enough to lift your spirits a little. You didn't think that you would fall even deeper for Eddie, but there you went. It was like your heart belonged to him already. You heard a bit of shuffling on his end before he spoke once more, "I know I said that I'd be quick, and I will, so... I'll see you tomorrow?" You could almost hear the hopeful tone in his voice; though, there was a hint of unsureness lingering there.
"Yeah..." You muttered, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight, babe."
You let a small sigh escape you, "Goodnight, Eds."
Hanging up the phone, you hoped to god that your mother wasn't listening in as you slid yourself further onto your bed, your back pressed against the headboard. You wrapped your arms around your knees, resting your chin on them, your bottom lip trembling. Tears slowly began to trickle down your cheeks, leaving tracks in their path, and you buried your face in your arms, allowing yourself to become engulfed in darkness.
~~~
The next morning, you woke up groggy. Clearing the little crust away from the corners of your eyes, you sat up with a small groan. As you got ready for the school day, you tried to remember when you fell asleep last night, but you couldn't remember. Walking to one side of the room, you opened your small dresser, grabbing a pair of pants before starting to really get ready for the day.
You sat on the edge of your bed, fixing the cuff of your red jeans as you leaned to the side slightly, peeking out your bedroom window. Seeing your mother's car gone and missing from the driveway, you let out a small breath of relief, your shoulders dropping.
Sliding your black studded belt through your belt loops, you walked over to your closet. Shuffling through your many hanging shirts of various colors, your hand paused on one, near the back of the closet. Pushing the shirts on their hangers to the side, you pulled the black shirt off the pole and towards you. Holding it up, you couldn't help but smile, your free hand coming up to grasp the soft fabric; rubbing it between your fingers.
The shirt was black with the main print being a graveyard. Rows and rows of cross-shaped tombstones stood, a pair of red hands loomed above, holding strings that dropped down and connected to some of the tombstones. The words, 'Metallica' was in silver in the middle of the shirt, while 'Master Of Puppets,' was printed at the bottom of the illustration.
It was Eddie's and you may or may not have stolen it from him one of the times you visited him at his trailer - and he didn't mind. You usually wore it to sleep, but the scent, which was so perfectly Eddie, had begun to fade, which made you sad. Slipping it off the hanger, you replaced your nightshirt with the band tee, feeling a wave of comfort wash over you as it covered your body.
Grabbing your backpack from near your bedroom door and your denim jacket from the hook, you headed out into the hallway, and down the stairs. As you slid on your black Converse, you side-eyed the clock on the wall, seeing that you did not have enough time to eat before you began your trek down to the high school. And so, with a hungry stomach, you slipped on your backpack and headed out the door.
~~~
As the school day went on, you felt as if you were drowning. Your classes were boring and monotonous as the teacher droned on about the Civil War, giving no real attention to the class except for a few snickers from the students behind him as he wrote on the chalkboard. When the bell finally rang, you quickly packed up all your things and rushed to leave the classroom, eager to get out.
Unfortunately for you, the halls were packed with students, meaning that you could not make your escape without brushing against others. You sighed, running your fingers through your hair as you looked around, hoping to find an opening to get through.
Finding a small opening, you took your chance, speeding through, you maneuvered through the crowd as people gave way to you. Your heart rate increased as you pushed through everyone, making your way towards the cafeteria. Once inside, you let your eyes scan the room, quickly spotting Eddie sitting with his club members. Making your way over, you couldn't help but feel giddy as your legs carried you over to him, unable to hide the huge grin forming on your face.
Turning his head, Eddie's eyes met yours, they brightened, a smile growing on his lips. Standing, he met you halfway, letting out a small grunt as you threw yourself into his arms. Eddie hugged you tightly, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you off the ground as he spun you in circles; making you laugh as you held onto him. When you both stopped spinning, Eddie set you back on the ground. Closing your eyes, you allowed yourself to enjoy this moment, savoring the warmth he provided as he held you close to your chest; rubbing your cheek on his denim vest and leather jacket combo.
Looking up at him, he was already looking down at you, his eyes roamed over your face. You gazed right back into those chocolate-brown eyes of his, feeling the anxiety and sadness just melt away instantly. "Hey." You breathed out quietly, smiling as he pulled you closer to him, his hands finding their place on your waist.
"Hey, there, babe," He spoke softly, moving a stray piece of hair behind your ear. "Looks like somebody missed me." He teased, earning a light slap on his upper arm.
Rolling your eyes playfully, you pouted, "Of course, I missed you, Eds." Eddie chuckled as he nuzzled his nose into your hairline, breathing in the sweet smell of your coconut shampoo.
After a moment, you felt the side of your face buzz, feeling eyes on you. Looking over, you huffed, gaining Eddie's attention. Eddie followed your eyes, seeing his club members staring at you and him. Half of them were trying to muffle their laughter, making Eddie glare at the group.
"What are you airheads looking at? Get back to eating, nothing to see here." Eddie spoke out, his gaze never leaving yours. His tone was firm. With a shrug, the group turned their heads back down to what they were doing, not wanting to draw any more attention than necessary. "Come on," Eddie spoke softly, only to you, "Let's get out of here." You nodded your head, following beside him as he led you out of the cafeteria.
Stepping outside, you and Eddie walked out into the woods by the school, stepping over tree roots and walking around bushes and trees, you finally spotted the old picnic bench. Sitting down, you tucked your legs under the table as Eddie sat down with his legs on either side of the bench; facing you.
After a couple of minutes of silence, Eddie smiled over at you, "Look at you. You look beautiful today. Especially in my shirt."
You laughed lightly, feeling your face flush, "Thanks, Eddie."
"No, I'm serious," He continued, scouting a smidge closer, "I should give you my shirts more often… Actually, just take all my clothes. I don’t need them.”
You shook your head, grinning as you glanced around the woods, "You wouldn't get them back if you did that." You pointed out with a laugh.
Eddie chuckled, shaking his head a bit, his bangs falling into his eyes slightly, "Maybe, maybe not." Eddie replied, turning his body so that his arm was leaning against the table, propping his head up on his hand, "But you do look beautiful today."
"That's the second time now. How many times are you going to compliment me today?" You asked, arching an eyebrow.
"Well," He chuckled, his mouth twisting upwards in amusement, "I can't seem to stop myself."
Your eyebrows raised slightly as you stared down at your lap, you bit your lip. You could feel your heart beating faster, pounding loudly in your chest, your ears feeling slightly warm. You doubted that you would ever get used to hearing him say those things to you. You cleared your throat, glancing back at him, "So," You trailed off, "How was your morning?"
He grinned, chuckling, "Boring, without you." He huffed, "I wish we had the same classes."
"Me too." You nodded your head, "I think History would actually be fun if you were in my class." You muttered, shrugging a shoulder, "I could hardly pay attention."
"Well, you wouldn't pay attention if I was in class with you." Eddie joked, causing you to chuckle slightly.
"You're right." You giggled, fidgeting with your fingers in your lap, watching as the wind blew through his dark, curly locks. "You're such a bad influence on me." Immediately as you said that, your smile slipped, turning into a small frown. Even though you were joking, that was what your mother thought he was.
Eddie leaned forward in his seat slightly, his elbow resting on the table, as he watched you intently, studying the expression on your face, "Y/N? Hey…" Eddie questioned quietly, reaching out and taking your hand in his. "What's wrong, babe?"
You swallowed hard, trying to avoid his gaze as you answered, "Nothing," You cleared your throat, "I'm fine."
Eddie pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes, "I know you're not." He scooted closer, interlacing his fingers with yours, "What's going on?" You looked up at him, you returned to biting your lip. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked.
"It's my mom..." You replied softly, running a hand through your hair, "She doesn't like you."
"A lot of people don't like me, sweetheart." Eddie replied nonchalantly, squeezing your hand lightly as he gave you a lopsided grin.
You huffed, "I know. But, she doesn't want me to hang out with you anymore. And when I told her I wouldn't stop spending time with you, she got all mad. She told me that I shouldn't be friends with someone who's... The devil. That you’ll brainwash me." You whispered, looking down at the table, "I- I don't know what to do... I mean, she made me move that last time I made friends with someone she didn't approve of... I don't want to leave. I don't want to leave you." Sighing deeply, you shut your eyes, tears burned behind them as you finished, "It hurts, Eddie."
Silence filled the air between you two. A minute passed before you heard a sigh escape his lips. Opening one eye, you glanced up at Eddie, his brows furrowed in frustration. Leaning forward again, you watched as he reached out, brushing his hand across your cheek; wiping away the lone tear that managed to escape your eye.
"Y/N..."
"And- And, I don't care what she thinks." You whispered, shaking your head. "I just dont- I don't know what I'd do without you." You admitted, sniffling slightly as you stared at him; your brown eyes meeting his chocolate ones.
The corner of his mouth curved upward, a genuine grin spreading across his face, "I don't know what I'd do without you, babe." As he spoke these words, he brought your hand up to his lips, placing a soft kiss on the center of your palm. "You make this shit town a whole lot better."
You blinked a few times, noticing how close you and Eddie were to each other, your cheeks flushed as your heart started racing once more. Licking your suddenly dry lips, you opened your mouth slightly, but no sound came out.
Eddie's eyes were trapped as he observed every detail in your face. The slight hint of your freckles, cheeks, and back to your bright, shimmering eyes; your lashes still wet from your prior tears. His half-lidded gaze then flickered down to your lips, and his tongue traced his bottom lip nervously. As Eddie's gaze lingered on your lips, a mix of emotions swirled in his eyes. Unbeknownst to you, Eddie had always harbored a special adoration for you ever since the night you both met at that dreadful party that you'd been dragged to. He had never met anyone like you before.
His heart would flutter every time you bantered back and forth and the way you would shyly smile in his presence only fueled his hidden affections. In those stolen moments where your eyes met and sparks seemed to fly, Eddie couldn't help but wonder if you felt the same way, buried beneath the layers of playful teasing and genuine friendship.
As you sat there, hand in hand, Your breath hitched as the atmosphere between you and Eddie crackled with an undeniable tension as you sat there, the weight of unspoken words lingering in the air. In a moment of daring courage, you both leaned in, hearts pounding in sync, unsure of what the next second would bring.
As your lips drew closer, a mix of nerves and anticipation enveloped you. Eddie's gaze softened, his usually mischievous eyes now filled with a vulnerability that mirrored your own. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you, suspended in a moment that felt both surreal and inevitable.
And then, in a flutter of breath and hesitancy, Eddie's nose brushed the side of yours, his hot breath caressing your cheeks. Your hand shook slightly as you brushed the tips of your fingers against his cheek, your eyes fluttered as your lips met in the middle; your hearts beating frantically in unison.
Your lips moved together slowly, gently moving against each other as you both explored the taste of each other, each moment was perfect. Every sensation, every smell, every sound seemed amplified. It felt like you were floating in a bubble of bliss, forgetting about everything but each other.
Pulling away, you kept your eyes shut as you pressed your forehead against his, feeling his bangs brush against your eyelashes, a giddy smile finding its way to your features, “Were you serious when you said you give me more of your shirts?”
Eddie chuckled lightly, “If it means I get to kiss you again, then sure.” He mumbled against your lips as his left hand cupped your cheek, his thumb caressing your skin.
You smiled, pressing a soft kiss to his nose before pulling away slightly, your eyes gazing into each other. "Can I have that other Metallica one? The one with the electric chair?" Excitement was clear in your voice as Eddie chuckled, nodding his head, you grinned widely, your eyes sparkling with happiness.
"Look at you…” He muttered, seeing your smile before answering your question, “But, of course." He winked, causing your smile to widen as he leaned forward, his mouth barely grazing over yours, "Anything for you." He murmured before closing the distance between the two of you once again.
~~~
"Are you sure about this, babe?" Eddie asked, his hands holding the steering wheel tightly, driving his van in the next town over from Hawkins. "I mean, you don't have to do this just to piss off your mom."
"I'm not just doing this," You shrugged a shoulder, glancing over at him from the passenger seat, "Don’t you remember me telling you how much I’ve wanted one when we first met?”
"Do I remember?" Eddie asked himself, a small grin growing on his face as he glanced over at you, your eyes meeting his before he turned back to the road, "The way you looked at me when you saw my tattoos... How your eyes lit up, and the smile that crossed your face... The way your lips parted... The way they looked so soft..." Eddie trailed off, "Yeah, no... I don't think I remember." Eddie shook his head as you felt your cheeks burn from his words, making you shake your own head, biting your lip. Oh, how he teased you...
Watching as the many trees passed by, you hummed before continuing, "It sounds like you weren't even paying attention." You answered, amused, resting your elbow on the van's door armrest, holding your head up by the palm of your hand.
Eddie smirked, "Maybe I was too caught up in you to listen to what you were saying," He countered, raising an eyebrow as he glanced over at you for a brief moment, watching as you rolled your eyes, amused.
"If that's true then I doubt you've been listening to anything I have been saying. I swear I have to snap you out of staring at me every five seconds, Eds." You laughed lightly, your eyes falling back on the window as you continued humming under your breath.
"Not my fault you're so beautiful that I can't take my eyes off you, baby." He muttered flirtatiously.
"Shut up," You giggled, throwing your head back against the van's headrest, "You’re making me blush!"
Eddie didn't say another word, a large grin on his face as he pulled up to the familiar tattoo parlor.
As you unbuckled yourself from the passenger seat, Eddie quickly got out and rounded around the front of the van. Opening the passenger side door, Eddie dipped into a low bow, stretching his free hand out to the side as he gave you a grin, "My lady," He spoke in a rather posh voice.
Placing a hand on your chest, you placed your free hand on top of his as you batted your eyelashes mockingly, pretending to gasp, "Oh, my," You spoke, mimicking him, "What a gentleman." You said as you stepped out of the van.
"Only for you." Eddie answered back, your hand staying in his as the both of you began to walk to the front, glass door.
As you both walked a couple of feet, you stepped up onto one of the curb stops, walking carefully so as not to fall; Eddie's hand in yours, watching you as you stepped toe to toe on the cement block. "What are you thinking of getting?" Eddie then asked, as your eyes stared down at your feet.
"I think I'll keep that as a surprise until this artist friend of yours asks..." You muttered with a small smile, coming to the end of the curb stop, stepping off, and looking up at Eddie as he grabbed the door handle of the parlor door.
"Well then," Eddie opened the door, the bell above it jingling, "I'm excited to find out what it is." Entering the parlor, Eddie waved at the man behind the counter. The man was tall, in his late twenties you assumed, and had a remarkable similarity to Kurt Russell from that 'Escape From New York' movie. "Hey! Chris!" Eddie exclaimed as this 'Chris' just gave Eddie a grin, pressing his palms against the counter.
"Hello, Eddie. Brought a friend, I see." He turned his bluey gaze to you, offering his hand as the two of you stopped before the counter, "Hey, name's Christopher, but you can call me 'Chris,' He spoke as you shook his hand, "I can only assume either of you came to get a tattoo. Unless you missed me." He joked, making Eddie huff, his eyes rolling as he flopped his arm over your shoulder.
"You assumed correct, Chris," Eddie spoke, pulling you into his side, "My lovely girlfriend wants a tattoo."
Christopher hummed, nodding his head, "Well, you came to the right place." He clapped his hands together once before pressing them back against the counter before him, his eyes turning back to you, "What did you have in mind? Flowers, some sort of animal, a quote? I can do practically anything."
You just smiled, your mind already picturing the tattoo image that you had in mind. "I want bats." You answered simply, the side of your face burning as Eddie's head turned swiftly to stare at you wide, surprised - and in awe - eyes.
Chris's grin curled into a mischievous one as he quickly glanced at Eddie and back to you, "Bats... Hmm, yeah, I can do that. Let me quickly come up with a sketch." He then spoke, sitting down in the chair behind the counter and pulling out a small sketch pad and pencil.
Eddie just continued staring at you, "Bats..." He muttered softly, "You want bats?" His question was filled with disbelief.
You shrugged a shoulder, your hand coming up to hold his hand from your shoulder, "I like bats."
"You like my bats," He whispered proudly, emphasizing on the third word as you smiled coyly.
"I love your bats," You repeated teasingly, squeezing his hand in yours before releasing it to reach up and push a strand of hair behind his ear, "I feel like you should've seen this coming."
Eddie just huffed, raising his free hand to grab yours from his hair, cupping your hand to his cheek; continuing to stare at you adoringly as he nuzzled his cheek into your palm. "I thought you were going to get something from that movie you like or something..."
"Hmm," You hummed, your thumb brushing against the soft skin of the apple of his cheek, your eyes drifting, spotting the little freckles that were dotted there, "That might be a good second tattoo idea."
"You really got the key to my heart, babe," Eddie spoke, his voice sounding full of what you could only think was a deep sense of love as his warm brown orbs gazed into yours, causing you to let out a small giggle, your thumb rubbing circles around his cheek.
"And you got mine, Eds." You mumbled as his eyes dropped to your lips, just a mere breath away until Christopher popped his head up from his sketch pad.
"Sorry to interrupt," He grinned, his mischievous eyes gleaming, standing from his chair as the two of you pulled away from each other slightly; Eddi's arms still wrapped around your shoulders. "What do you think of this?" Chris then asked, showing you the sketch he had gone, and immediately, your eyes widened, as did your smile.
"It's perfect!" You cheered, feeling a rush of excitement run through you as you stared down at the sketch. It was of Eddie's bats, drawn the same, but flying in a slightly different pattern; more horizontal. It was perfect and you couldn't wait for the masterpiece to be permanently printed onto your skin.
Chris pulled the sketchbook back, "Great, you two lovebirds can follow me to the chair." He spoke, as he led you and Eddie to his station.
As you walked, you took that time to look around the parlor, seeing the walls covered in posters and framed art depicting different types of tattoos. The room was bright, but not blinding and everything was done in black, white, and gray tones. Taking a seat on the later chair, Chris slid over another wheely chair, the same as his, for Eddie to sit on as he gathered his needed materials from a separate room.
Eddie held your hand as you laid your arm on the chair's armrest, gently squeezing your hand as you continued to look around the room at all the different tattoo designs. "Are you excited?" He asked, watching as your eyes flickered from design to design, a smile still on your face.
"So excited. But I'm still nervous. I'm trying not to think about the needle."
"Hmm, yeah," He hummed, following your line of sight, "I'll be here the whole time. You know that you can take a break at any time. Just let him know."
"I know," You nodded, looking over at him, "But I can do this. I mean, I've been waiting for this ever since I was twelve."
"I know," Eddie mimicked you softly as Chris came back over with the tattoo gun and inks needed.
Setting the items down on the table, Chris grabbed some gloves, sliding them on, "Alright, where did you plan to have it?"
"Right here," You gestured to just below your collarbone, and Chris nodded as he got the items ready on the tin tray beside him, organizing them.
"Alright, I just want to let you know that it might be painful, or it might not. Some people say it just feels like someone scratching the same spot over and over, and some don’t, so I just wanted to warn you about that." He spoke, opening the ink bottles and pouring a couple of drops into a small, plastic cup, "I try and make this as pleasant of an experience as possible for everyone who comes in. So if you need a break, you can take it. If you need a snack, I got a mini fridge, and if you need me to change the radio station, I bet Eddie will go and change it for you." He finished, before twisting his wrist, warming it up. "Are you ready to begin?"
You nodded, "Yeah."
~~~
The tattoo was perfect. You thought it was gorgeous. And when Eddie first saw it after Chris was done, his first word was, ‘Wicked.’
Seven little bats decorated your soft skin, and even though you had gone through a lot of pain to get them, it was incredibly worth it. Chris and Eddie were right, and it did hurt, but not as much as you thought it was going to hurt. Your mother, after you had told her of your wish to one day get a tattoo and tattoos in general. She said that it was a way of signing your soul over to the devil. That was the reason your mother moved you away to Hawkins, your mother found out that a friend of yours had a tattoo. But nothing she said really deterred you from wanting a tattoo.
And four months later, you sat in your room with Eddie, a movie randomly playing on your small television across your bed, whilst you read a book and Eddie's head leaned on your shoulder. He was staring at the TV, not fully paying attention to it as he played with the fraying hem of your shirt... That you stole from him.
You continued to read, your book taking you to a far-off world with elves, wizards, and hobbits. Eddie had recommended the 'Lord Of The Rings' series, letting you borrow his set, and you couldn't have been happier. You were in the second book, almost near the end; you couldn't put it down. Even though it was long, and the author really liked to describe anything and everything, you enjoyed how easily you seemed to fall into the fantasy world of Middle Earth.
Sighing, Eddie scooted impossibly closer to you, growing a bit bored. His hands were tingling slightly with the want and need to do something, anything. He wished he had his baby with him. His other baby. While you were reading, he could've been practicing a few songs, but his visit to your house for the first time was not planned.
You had told him that your mother was going out to play Scrabble with a few friends for the night, and that she wouldn't get back until pretty late. So, you took Eddie to your place. You were excited to finally show Eddie your room. Even though it wasn't anything like his, Eddie still loved it.
When he walked in, he knew it was your room. Your desk was pushed off to the side, near the window. Folders, notebooks, and other various items were neatly placed there. The shelves that contained your many, many books were on the other wall, next to your closet door. The bed looked comfortable too; with a plush, fuzzy faux-fur blanket that covered your gray sheets, accompanied with gray pillowcases on your pillows.
Your room was nice, open, and bright. And it made Eddie feel calm; safe.
Letting out a dramatic sigh this time, Eddie pushed himself up slightly, lifting and turning his head to press his nose into your shoulder, his eyes staring at what he could see of the side of your face with sad, puppy dog eyes.
"Bored?" You asked softly, thumbing the page over.
Eddie pouted, "Yeah… How could you tell?"
"This is the ninth time you sighed in... Oh, I don't know... Ten minutes." You spoke glancing at the circular clock on the wall and down at him before back at your book. "Just let me get done with this chapter and I'm all yours."
"Okay..," Eddie sighed, watching as you continued to read, his fingers returning to play with the hem of your shirt.
After about five minutes, or what felt like hours for Eddie, he started to become restless again. Shaking his socked left foot side to side from where it lay on your bed, he curled his fingers around your arm, his nose occasionally rubbing your shoulder as he started to hum the tune of 'Fade To Black.' Shuffling up again, the slight movement caused his hands to move down on your long-sleeved shirt; unintentionally pulling the collar of your shirt down a little.
Immediately, Eddie's eyes were glued to the bit of black ink poking out from beneath the stretched collar of your shirt. His finger moved upwards, lightly tracing the outline of what he could see of the bat, his pout quickly turning into a small grin. Unable to really help himself, Eddie felt himself being drawn towards it. As if it was calling out to him. Before getting it, you had told Eddie millions of times how much you loved his tattoos, all of them, but especially his bats.
He probably had a small inkling - or suspicion - that you had plans to get something similar, but he never gave it a second thought, until now. You loved his tattoo so much that you got one like his permanently tattooed onto your skin. You loved him so much that you got something that reminded you of him... Permanently tattooed onto your perfect skin, and somehow he could barely breathe.
Letting out a shallow breath, Eddie leaned down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to the top of the bat's wing, what he could see just peeking out from the collar of your shirt. It was enough of a distraction, for him to not notice when your hand paused in the air, millimeters away from flipping to the next page. Pressing his warm face into the equally warm skin of the crook of your neck, Eddie sighed; finally feeling the fast beating of your heart against his cheek.
"You're killing me, Eddie." You huffed, shutting your book and setting it on the bedside table before looking over at what you could see of Eddie; his face still dug into your shoulder. "You're acting way too cute." You chuckled, reaching up to run a hand through his hair, breaking away small knots.
His nose bumped against yours as he raised his face from your shoulder, an innocent smile on his face, "What do you mean? I'm always cute."
"That's true," You agreed, moving forward and pressing a sweet, short kiss to his lips. "Now," You pulled away slowly, placing a small amount of space between the two of you, "What do you want to do? Since you're so bored."
"Well," He grinned mischievously, "I have a few ideas."
Tilting your head to the side slightly, "Really?" You questioned with a raised eyebrow, feeling your stomach twist as his eyes glanced down at your awaiting lips for a moment, "Care to share?"
"Mmhm." Eddie hummed, his hand raising to cup your cheek, his thumb brushing against your bottom lip, before cupping the back of your neck, bringing your face ever closer to his; allowing his gaze to drift down and down until his eyes landed on your mouth once more.
Before either of you could continue, a sudden knock on the bedroom door brought both of you back to reality; your door opening and revealing your mother. She had come home early.
Your eyes widened as you sat bolt upright in bed. Eddie shot up beside you, his eyes wide as well, as your mother's jaw dropped, her eyes widening in shock before they turned into eyes of pure anger.
"Y/N!" She yelled, making you flinch as she turned her eyes to Eddie, "And you! Devil boy! Out of my house, you spawn of Satan!"
Eddie hopped up from your bed, grabbed his shoes, and hastily slipped them on. You stood up from the bed as well, your mother's eyes stared at him like a hawk, all the while Eddie couldn't help but grin. You moved over to the window, pushing the pane up as Eddie almost strutted over.
Despite what was happening, you couldn’t help but admire him.
Shrugging on his leather jacket, he gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, making your worried expression turn into a loving smile. "Bye, babe."
"Bye, Eds." You breathed deeply as your mother rushed over.
"No! No! Get out, Devil boy! Out!" He waved a pointy finger as Eddie slipped out of your window, landing on the lower side roof and down to the ground. Once he was out of sight, your mother turned to you; a sliver of fear rolled down your spine as her eyes glared daggers at you, her arms crossed. "And you, young lady, are in very big trouble." She seethed, "I told you- I forbade you from ever speaking to that boy again! And you have the nerve- the- the audacity to bring him into my home! To have him in your room! You- you- you-" She began, stuttering over her words angrily, her hand waving in the air by her face; her cheeks were red. As she continued to stutter, her eyes glanced down, seeing the hint of black against your skin. She paused, frozen before she reached out and pulled the collar of your shirt slightly, just enough to see one of the bats that was etched onto your skin peeking out from under your shirt. "Is that..." She raised her free hand, licking her thumb before rubbing the bat; whatever it was, it didn't fade, or spear... It didn't come off. She pulled away, "You... That devil child has infected you!" She cried angrily.
You swallowed nervously as she continued to talk, your mind running over every possible way you could get out of this emotionally and mentally unscathed, "Mom. I am an adult. I can get a tattoo-"
Her eyes flashed dangerously, "Stop right there. Don't you dare say another word." She growled, "He has brainwashed you. He took you and corrupted your mind, and you will pay dearly for it."
You watched as your mother stalked away, "Mom..." You spoke, but she ignored you, reaching for your phone sitting on your bedside table, "Mom!" You cried out, watching as she reached for the cord of your phone and yanked it straight out of the wall.
Jaw dropped, and you continued to watch as she collected your phone into her arms before turning to you, "You will not get your phone back until I deem it suitable. I may regret this, but I will give you one last chance. I rather like this town. I would be upset to leave it so soon." She spoke before leaving your room, shutting your door behind her.
Huffing out a breath, you felt your eyes burn. The tears threatened to spill from their confines as you turned towards your bed, dropping yourself onto it, letting the tears finally fall.
Eddie stood in front of the bathroom mirror, his hands gripping the counter edge tightly as he stared down at the counter itself. He wanted to call you, see how you were doing, and cheer you up like he always knew how to, but he knew that it would be too risky.
So, he stood, his fingers tapping the underside of the counter as he thought. He wished things were different, and he wished that your mother didn't hate him. But everyone hated him, and he wished that he was used to it. But you didn't hate him. Not even close. He needed you, he needed your support and encouragement, he needed your love and warmth; just as much as you needed him.
He sighed, sliding down onto the floor, and leaning his back against the bathtub; the cold surface chilling his back. Closing his eyes, he tilted his head back against the rim of the tub, letting out a sigh.
~~~
Your mother watched you like a hawk for the next couple of weeks. Everywhere you went with her, she was close beside. And she followed you wherever you went; store, arcade, everywhere. Everyone you spoke to, she would know about. It was like she was everywhere. But, she wasn't.
She couldn't go to the high school, no matter how much she tried to convince the Principal to let her. 'My daughter is in danger,' she would plead, only for the Principal to reply with, 'There is nothing to worry about.' Nothing to worry about? Your mother was fuming. You wondered how she would’ve done it either way, since she had a job and all.
And so, the only time you could see Eddie was during the school day, which was less time than you liked. You didn't share any of the same periods, and could only see him during the couple of minutes before class, during the half an hour lunch, and the few minutes after school before you had to walk home. Your mother even forced you to quit your 'Drama Club,' which was actually the Hellfire Club.
Sitting on the picnic bench out in the woods, the same bench you and Eddie shared your first kiss - and many more - you leaned against Eddie's shoulder. Lunch had started less than ten minutes ago, Eddie had eaten some of the fries and drank his chocolate milk, but you had hardly touched yours at all. You hadn't touched anything all morning; you simply pushed the plate of mush around. You could feel Eddie's curious glances burning into the side of your face as he looked down.
"You gotta eat, baby." He moved his arm, wrapping it behind you, his hand rubbing up and down on your arm, "Come on, take a bite." He cooed softly, leaning down a little bit so that his nose brushed against your cheek. You shook your head quickly, pushing your plate of untouched food away from you, "Y/N." His voice came out in barely more than a whisper.
Taking a deep breath, you opened your mouth to speak, "I will for you." You muttered, reaching out and grabbing the sweet roll from your tray, "Only for you."
"That's my girl." Eddie brought you closer to his side, pressing a kiss to your temple. "I know life is pretty shitty right now, but we can get through this. I promise you, once we graduate, we will get out of this town."
You humphed softly, a small smile growing on your lips, "If you graduate," You teased lightly, making Eddie gasp in faux offense; his free hand coming up to his chest.
"If I graduate? Baby, 86' is my year." He winked, causing you to giggle a little, making his smile grow bigger. You rested your head back against his shoulder, the two of you contentedly eating your food.
After a moment, you paused, "What if we left now..?" You shook your head on his shoulder as Eddie paused his own eating, "Nevermind. Silly question."
"Not silly at all." Eddie spoke, the both of you being brought back to the night you met at that party, "Not silly at all." He repeated, thoughtfully.
~~~
Your mother came home from work on an early Wednesday evening, dropping her purse and keys down on the table near the door as she slipped off her heels. "Y/N! Dear, I'm home!" She called out, checking in the living room, but not finding you there. Walking to the kitchen, passing the dining room, she called out again, "Did you take the beef out like I asked?" Entering the kitchen, the beef was not out on the kitchen counter, and the dishes in the sink were unfinished. Letting out a deep, irritated sigh, she moved to the stairs, placing her hand on the banister, "Y/N!?" With no answer again, she quickly made her way up the stairs, entering the hall, and pushing your door open.
She gasped, seeing your walls stripped of your posters, your shelves empty of your books, and your bed coverings missing from your bed. Rushing to your closet, she slammed it open, finding empty hammers in your empty closet before doing the same with your dresser; empty. She ran a hand through her hair, her body turning, and her eyes surveying the room with haste. Where were you? Where did you go? Were you with that boy? Damn...
Hearing the sound of a van pulling into the driveway, and a door opening, she ran to your open bedroom window that faced the street, her hands held onto the windowsill with a death-like grip, her eyes wide with anger and shock as you hopped out of the van; Eddie's van. Speaking of the Devil boy, he came around from the other side of the van, his arm looping over your shoulders. You just stared up at your mother with a triumphant grin, crossing your arms, and jutting out your hip.
Your mother stood stunned and speechless as she watched you uncross your arms, you then placed them to the side of your head, your pointer fingers pointed up; mimicking horns as you stuck out your tongue at her. Eddie watched you, a proud grin on his face - flattered - admiring you proudly.
Her expression quickly changed, becoming filled with fury, while Eddie gave your mother a grin, waving his hand. "Goodbye, Mrs. L/N!"
Your mother watched as you and Eddie then started to get back in the van, and finally, she spoke, "Y/N! Get back here this instant! If you get in that van, you are no longer my daughter!" She exclaimed angrily but only watched as the van's engine started up and the two of you sped away down the street.
You laughed in the passenger seat, throwing your head back against the headrest, Eddie glancing over at you with a smile; laughing along with you, happy to see you so happy.
You sighed as you calmed down, feeling adrenaline rush throughout your veins as you ran a hand through your hair before you turned to look at Eddie; resting your elbow on the middle console, palm resting on your cheek.
"So," You began, your smile never dwindling as you gazed up at Eddie, "Where are we going to go?" You asked, excitement filling up your heart.
Eddie shrugged, glancing over at you with a matching grin, having a double take when he saw your smile. You looked beautiful… As always. The setting sun was shining on you, bathing you in the most perfect light. His smile softened, "Look at you..." He muttered, "You're all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed." He finished before he reached over the center console, and grabbed your other hand in his. Bringing it to your lips, he pressed a gentle, yet loving kiss to the top of your knuckles, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Look at me..." You replied, your voice taking a soft tone, a warm smile playing on your lips.

summary: in the dead of night, a rich boy and his darling sneak out to their boarding school's indoor garden
Tumblr media
“I love coming here at night,” he said, looking up at the starry sky. Even in the dim light of the glowing flowers around us, he looked incredibly beautiful. There was a bittersweetness to his beauty, like at any moment he could disappear and I’d only be able to glimpse him in my dreams and memories. He had deep brown eyes, warm brown skin, and long, spiraling locs. His form was lean and athletic from years of training. “I’m sorry I dragged you here… I just really wanted you to see this.”
“I’m not too mad,” I joked nervously. “I just don’t want to get caught up, you know.”
I didn’t want to be afraid when with him, but in the darkness of the night, I heard my heart racing. We sat in the Garden together. If it were any other time, I would have been ecstatic to be here. This was where the great Princes had gathered, ate and celebrated each other. This was a place of legend and lore… and all that didn’t mean much to my companion. He just thought it looked pretty here.
He had come to my dorm in stealth, and concealed me along with him. He had a strong predisposition for protection spells, particularly veiling. His being the descendant of the academy’s founders also got him special access into lots of different places here, at basically any time. His family handed him anything he wanted because of his talent, beauty and aptitude. They were fools for him, so there we sat, probably scot-free. Well, I wasn’t so sure about myself, which was one of the reasons I was afraid of being with him.
It was also because he was fucking insane.
He pulled me into a hug. He smelled like the sweet milk roses around us; sugary and potent. He kissed my neck and trailed his hand down my belly, all the way down to my lap. He then pressed his full, soft lips against mine. Deepening the kiss, he pulled me in tighter. I closed my eyes, knowing his was open. He liked to see every tiny flinch and expression I made, and it was his incentive to go faster, be rougher, and taste every inch of me.
“Mm… w-we shouldn't do this here,” I said, breathlessly pulling away.
He didn't miss a beat. He licked his wet lips and said, “We’ll go to a room, then.”
“S-Sure… um, mine isn’t the prettiest, but—”
He shook his head, his expression incredulous. His eyes were suddenly cloudy and distant. He stuttered, “I don’t want to impede upon something so holy…and private… That’s your… personal space. No, there are rooms here. I’ll show you.”
He stood up and pulled me up along with him. He took my hand and guided me to the maze-like Garden, until we came upon a waterfall. A line of stones led directly to it. He gestured me to go first, saying that he’d catch me if I fell. I carefully took each step, and he followed behind. I stopped at the last visible stone.
“Do I… just go in?”
“Yes, my love,” he said with a chuckle.
Rolling my eyes, I stepped through. Instead of getting drenched, I was met with a warm atmosphere. I now stood in a room that was cozy, with a blazing fireplace, a couple filled-up bookcases, a king-sized bed, and a faux fur rug. It was only a tad bigger than my own dorm room. It was surprisingly homely. I had been to his dorm room before, and it was much more grand, dramatic and large.
“I stay here most often. I wanted to take you here before, but I didn't want to do it that day. I was planning to take you here after we fucked in the Garden, but this is a good a place as any.”
I blinked, failing to process the true extent of his shamelessness. I said, in a scolding tone, “h/n!”
He grinned and said, “Do you like it? I decorated it myself. I definitely want to live in a whole cottage like this when I retire. With you, of course.”
I laughed. “Isn’t it too early to plan that sort of thing out?”
“I love these kinds of houses,” he replied happily, sitting down.
“No, I mean marrying someone. That’s something you have to plan.”
“Just tell me what you want in a wedding and we’ll do that.”
“That’s not what I— Oh, never mind.”
He furrowed his devastatingly lovely eyebrows. Caressing my face, he whined, “Have I upset you? That seems to be my talent these days. Please forgive me.”
How could someone with so much power at his disposal look so submissive? It looked as if he would yield to my every desire. I shook my head at him. I sat down next to him and told him he didn’t upset me at all. He kissed me when he heard that, slipping his warm, wet tongue into my mouth. He teased the entrance to my throat, and I moaned into him. My mind was getting murky as he fondled my chest, waist, thighs, and the warmth between them— he somehow moved both slowly and quickly, his warm fingers finding their way under my clothes. He laid me down and began to grind his groin into mine, embracing me with his muscular arms. He was heavy and strong, so my will buckled under him. He kissed my ear all the while, and thanked me for letting him get so close to me.
“I’m so weak,” he whispered. “I-I just can’t st-stop…”
I stroked his head in response, losing myself in the sweet feelings he was drawing out of me. He asked me to marry him a billion times in a row, and I breathlessly moaned his name....

Lies and Lavish
Chapter 1: introduction
Tumblr media
Pairing: soft dark! Andy Barber x reader, soft dark! Steve Rogers x reader, soft dark! Clark Kent x reader, soft dark! Bucky x reader, soft dark! Bruce Wayne x reader
Summary: You finally pull your head out of your studies and go to your long time friend's wedding to relax. And it's going to be alright, even if the infamous five brothers tend to linger around you a little too long, even when you share a past with one of them, even if their darkness is slowly approaching you. It's going to be okay, right?
Warnings: angst, mutual pining, manhandling, violence (by reader)
A/n: phew, it's finally here. Let me know what you think and please reblog it. It give ke motivation.
The wind whistled in the air mingling with the horns and roars of the cars, more expensive than your soul.
You sighed at the gigantic iron gate before you as the straps of your backpack dug into your shoulder. You were really second guessing your visit but the thought of your friend made you shake your head. After all, it was your childhood best friend wedding, even if it was to Ransom Drysdale. How did she managed to win that throttle? You would never know. But then again, not everybody's life revolved around school and sleep.
You glanced at the two additional bags you brought. Your backpack had essentials and your books. Even though, you came to relax, you'd still squeeze in some study. Business was no easy major and your finals were four months away.
You gripped your trolley bags and meekly shuffled towards the gate and entered the Drysdale estate through a smaller door-like gate. You sighed and looked around for any worker or someone who could help you with this maze.
Honk.
You jumped, clutching your racing heart as the loud noise pulled you out of your reverie. You began turning your head to glare at the motherfucker who almost gave you a heart attack, when an oh-so familiar voice called out your name.
"Luna! Come here."
You caught a glimpse of a Rolls Royce with a familiar sticker before you turned to beam at your friend, Alaïa. She waved at you with a megawatt smile and you thanked your lucky stars for working today as you dragged the bags and yourself towards her.
"Hi Alaïa, oh god! I can't believe you are getting married. Congratulations!" You said while intertwining your hands with hers, bouncing giddily.
"Thanks sis and gimme this," She pulled the bag off from your shoulders and deposited it on the nearby trolley bag. She glanced around and beckoned someone to where you were standing. "Leo, can you put these bags in the guest room I set up. Thank you." She politely ordered and off went your bags.
"Wow, Alaïa. You're living like a queen, huh?" You said, distracted by the large man taking away your luggage.
"Well, perks of marrying a rich man."
At that your smile faltered. You gradually dragged your gaze back to her. "Listen, Alaïa, you know I don't beat around the bush so I'm just gonna ask you. Are you okay with Ransom bringing more wives in the future?"
That was the new normal now. Apparently, 50 percent divorce rate was too alarming for the governments around the world. Add the loneliness statistics and now getting a divorce was nearly impossible. However, those who had the money to keep multiple partners, were allowed. Yes, polygamy was now legal. But the financially dependent partner had no say in this arrangement and that was why you feared for Alaïa.
Alaïa grimaced. "I know you're blunt. But you don't have to put it like that and don't worry. Ransom has promised to stay with me and only me."
They meant nothing. You were promised too. "But Alaïa, people change. What if he just said that to trap you? What will you do when he brings home some bimbo twenty years younger than him?"
People do change sometimes, even overnight. Or maybe they just hide their true face so perfectly that you couldn't see past those roses and sweet nothings.
Alaïa's lips tugged upwards into a half, bitter smile. "You think I'm a gold digger, don't ya?"
You gasped at the accusation. "God, no. And even if you were a gold digger, there's nothing wrong with it in this economy. The golden days are long gone. I'm just concerned about you, Alaïa."
"Hmmm, I know you only want the best for me. And I was just teasing you. I have signed the open marriage arrangement."
You heaved a sigh of relief but couldn't help thinking that somebody had definitely shamed her with that tag. "You scared me. It's great Ransom offered you that. Maybe, he is actually really committed to you." There were men and women who would allow the courtesy of an open marriage to their financially dependent partner, in case they marry again. So, if Ransom was really risking his fragile male ego, then he really meant it in your opinion.
"Yeah, maybe we can find you a committed one or two here. Look, their eyes are already wandering over you." She said with way too much enthusiasm and pointed behind you where few men were eyeing you with interest.
You whipped your head back to your friend, now accompanied with a sharp glare. "Absolutely not! I don't plan on marrying. Ever. And especially not to those dogs lolling their tongue."
Alaïa laughed at your little outburst and hooked her arm with yours. "I'm joking. Now, come on. Let's get you to Harlan." And began leading you inside the mansion.
But you planted your feet on the ground, causing her to stagger back to you. "Why would I meet Harlan?" You asked, bewildered.
She looked at you sheepishly. "I may have bragged about your writing and business skills way too much. Because as soon as I said you were coming today, he instructed me to bring you straight to his office."
What did your friend tell him that Harlan Thrombey wanted to meet you? And not just meet you but meet you straight away? It annoyed you nonetheless. "Alaïa, but-"
"No if and buts. You are going to the office right now." She declared and dragged your whining body with her.
_
"Harlan, look who's here." Alaïa announced as she pushed open the large doors.
You stood beside her and smiled at Harlan when his eyes lit up. "Oh, Luna. Welcome dear. I have heard a lot about you." He said with a good-natured smile.
"I don't know what she has told you but I'm definitely not what you think." You said, stepping towards him.
Harlan huffed out a chuckle. "I call it nonsense. I have seen you work, I have seen your articles. You are an asset to have-"
"How are you doing, Harlan?" A dark baritone voice called from behind as the doors flung open, sending shivers down your spine.
You gazed back and your breath hitched in your throat. In walked The Five Brothers, the richest and most dangerous people in the world. If one percent of the world's population ruled the 99 percent, then they ruled the hundred percent of it. They had unimaginable power, both legally and illegally.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you had company." The eldest, Andy Barber said. You didn't catch the intrigue in his voice.
Because among them was him. He was the last one to come in, your eyes locked for a second and an emotion you couldn't decipher passed through his eyes before he completely disregarded you and returned to his nonchalant attitude.
And why would he care? You meant nothing to him. Or he wouldn't have left the way he did. It was just a second of eye contact but for you it felt like eternity as the bittersweet memories flashed before your eyes. They were tainted by the black cloud of reality but for you, they meant everything. Because even if you were a mere lay for him. You liked that bastard. Loved even, if you allowed yourself that pain.
"Luna, I didn't know he'd come. I'm sorry." Alaïa said but you were already too out of your mind to care about her words.
You were drowning. Drowning in pain, in the memories, in the abandonment after swearing to never love, seeing your parents example. Only to open your heart to that asshole and have it smashed into a billion pieces.
Your lungs were bursting and tears were prickling your eyes. You didn't want to cry over that fucker, never, not again. But your breath was already coming out in short puffs and it was getting difficult to remain discreet. You were going to cry, you couldn't help it.
"Harlan, my head is hurting like crazy. I think coming here in this scorching heat caused it. Can we talk at night?" You blurted out as you released a shuddery breath, unshed tears bluring your vision.
Harlan's eyes softened and he gave you a compassionate smile. "Of course, dear. Take care of yourself."
You nodded with a wry smile and turned to leave. Attempting to bypass the large men that had engulfed the entire study.
There was no furniture at the door, no plants but you still gasped as your feet hit something, disbalancing you as you fell. However, before you could fall, a pair of strong arms caught you. You knew who caught you, you knew that scent too well. You looked up to glare at him. He made you fall.
"Woah, babe. I know women fall head over heels for me but I didn't mean it literally." He chuckled and you screwed your eyes shut to stop yourself from slapping the fuck out of him.
"Maybe you are way too sick. Should I escort you to your room?" He said and you snapped your gazes up at him.
You wanted to squirm out of his hold. Maybe stomp on his feet. You wanted to run away but the bruising grip around your waist didn't allow you the courtesy. His signet ring digging into your skin, as if pleading to agree, to hear whatever he wanted to say or do.
"Please." You whispered, you didn't know what you were asking. To tell you the truth and finally give you closure or to not break your heart again.
You squealed as he collected you in his arms. Promptly trapping you.
"Yeah, Bruce just go and drop her. Don't mess around here, okay." Andy said with a sigh.
"Of course, brother. Why would I do that now?" Bruce said with feigned innocence, causing all of his brothers to scoff.
He turned to Alaïa and stared at her expectantly. "Oh, third floor, last room on the left side." She hastily informed.
He nodded with his charming smile and dashed out the door. But you knew he wasn't taking you to your room.
"Bruce put me down." You said with calm firmness. Finally getting a hold of your emotions.
"No." He said with an attitude as he marched up the stairs, the forcing rocking you hard in his arms as you clutched his shoulders.
"Bruce, I said let me go and don't give me that attitude."
No answer.
"BRUCE LET ME DOWN." You were suddenly pushed into a dark corridor. His entire weight pinned you down to keep you from squirming away.
His head whipped to the right side, inky hair cascading over his forehead as your slap echoed in the hollow corridor. He did not move his head, did not bat an eye, hell! He looked like he wasn't even breathing.
You snapped his face to the left as you hit him again and again. You knew it was wrong. You knew he wasn't feeling more than a pat on his cheeks as you were no match for his strength but you still did it. Once, twice, thrice. You did it till tears rolling down your cheeks blurred your vision, till your hands hurt and shook, till they were covered by larger ones.
You wanted to cry on his shoulder, like how you did when you didn't get the expected result but you refrained from it. And leaned against the wall instead.
"Want to hit me again? Go ahead." Bruce whispered, his thumbs soothing your aching palms. There was emotion in his voice now, the care that he lacked before.
"You left," You said through sobs. "You left after we lost our virginity together!"
"I did. But I never wanted to leave you. I had to." He replied, his voice cracking in the end.
"That is not a good fucking excuse, Bruce Wayne." You bit back and tried to wriggle out of his hold but you were further pressed into the fall when he caught onto your escape plan.
"I'm not making any excuses Luna. I had no choice, we had no choice! They were so close to uncovering our identity. We would have been done for."
"Who they? What they? Bruce do you seriously give this explanation to every single woman you fuck and abandon? When you take their virginity or sack a married woman? You are a pathetic excuse of a man, Bruce." You were just his practice. Someone he lost his virginity to, nothing more, nothing less. You were done. You didn't want any closure, any explanation if this was what you were getting. You wanted him out of your sight and life. Even if it meant leaving your best friend's wedding.
"I swear on my dead mother's grave I didn't want to leave, Luna!" Bruce roared and you finally halted, coming down from your hysteria. You looked at him as you both heaved.
He swore on his mother. The mother who he loved dearly. Who was kicked out on the streets with his other four brothers by their father and mistress, throwing them out of the life of luxury to beg on the streets. The one who died in front of him in a car accident when he was just eight.
Bruce told you all this when he was too drunk or too sleepy to care. So you weren't relying on gossip here.
Now you listened to him as he took a deep breath. "Do you think I like it? Moving from one place to another on a day's notice? Working minimum wage jobs even though we were far more capable? Changing identities like clothes? Do you think we liked living in fear? I had a red dot on my forehead, Luna. Heck! Maybe I still do and when I say I didn't have the time to even say goodbye, I mean it. And no, I didn't sleep with married women, didn't take anyone's virginity. All hook ups were consensual and I don't give anyone any excuse or explanation."
"Is this really the truth?" You asked, exhausted and relaxed at the same time.
"It is, Luna. I never wanted to leave you. I-missed you." He whispered and gingerly touched his forehead with yours and when you didn't jerk away, he released a shuddery breath.
"I don't forgive you." You whispered back, touching his stubbled jaw. God, his warmth, he still used that aftershave. It brought back so many memories.
"You don't have to."
"Are you asking for it?"
"Yes."
To your dismay, a hope bloomed in your heart that maybe, you would be able to forgive him with time and rekindle the unsaid. However, you quickly crushed that desire. You were worlds apart now. You were still grinding your ass to study and get a good job while he was one of the richest men in the world. You didn't belong here. He did.
You slid your head from his forehead to his chest as he buried his head into your hair. You let a few more tears fall off your eyes as a pang of headache hit you. It was great while it lasted.
"Bruce-oh! You know her?" A surprised voice startled you as Bruce tensed underneath your hold.
He sucked in a deep breath and whirled around so quickly it gave you whiplash, his tall stature shielding you completely. "And now why would I tell you, shorty? Were you stalking me?" He said with a sardonic smirk as you gaped at him.
This was not the sensible, careful and vulnerable Bruce. This was the rude, condescending and arrogant rich asshole everybody knew him as. Granted he always had a bad temper with an even worse mouth but this was not him. Maybe he changed overtime.
Bucky didn't even bat an eye over his height's judgement and said. "No, I wasn't stalking you. You were taking too long so Steve told me to check if you were behaving. Now who is she?" Bucky's mouth also turned upwards, his almost green eyes twinkling with mischief as his chocolate hair fell over his forehead. Even if Bucky was on the shorter side, it did nothing to deter his beauty.
Your thoughts were interpreted by the loud snort of Bruce. "Come on, Buck. You are becoming such a pet of our Stevie. I don't know what treats he gives you but they sure look worth it. And as for her?" Bruce turned to you, head cocked with a raised eyebrow.
You sidestepped Bruce and came face to face with Bucky. You told him your name. "People call me Luna, I'm his friend from college."
Bucky let out a breathy chuckle. "Honey, he changed colleges like clothes. You'd have to be more specific."
"Very first college, Buck. You know." Bruce said nonchalantly and your head snapped to glare at him. You were half upset when you thought his brothers didn't know about you but as Bucky's flicked over you and your cheeks heated up. You wanted them to forget about you.
You glanced at Bucky with an awkward smile as realisation dawned on him and his mouth curved in a o shape. He stuck out his hand for you with a warm smile. "Don't worry, doll face. Only I and Bruce know about you and his… friendship." You shook it.
"Bruce, I didn't know she was such a beauty. You should have told us. We would have taken her with us." You and Bucky laughed. However, Bruce only narrowed his eyes and his jaw ticked.
"I should escort her to her room." Bucky said.
"But that's my duty."
"No, Harlan wants to discuss AI so he needs you. Plus, I have a message to deliver to, doll face."
Bruce huffed and nodded reluctantly. All three of you went to the stairs before diverging. However, you still felt Bruce's eyes as you glanced over your shoulder and found him looking longingly at you. You gave him a smile before he disappeared down the stairs.
"So what is the message you have to deliver, Mr. Barnes?" You ask in a whisper.
Bucky suddenly hooked his arm in your and pulled you towards him, making your breath hitch at the closeness as his heady scent made you dizzy.
"It's Bucky Alaïa wants you to meet her in the garden at 5. She wants you to meet Ransom." He whispered back in your ear and you gulped as it sounded like a dark lullaby to your brain.
"O-okay." You stammeredq out as your room finally arrived.
"Bye, bye, doll face." Bucky rasped close to your face and you were almost disappointed that you arrived so quickly.
Now that Bucky had left, his words registered in your brain. Why the fuck did Alaïa want you to meet Ransom? Was she planning on making you a mistress? You should really stop reading those reddit stories.
-
You dressed into a black, long dress after taking a nice shower and scrubbing away all the dirt and sweat. After shower feeling was the best feeling.
You gilded down the stairs, stepping into the bustling living room. You promptly avoided all of the people and made a beeline for the door leading to the garden. But you stumbled forward, almost falling to the ground as someone had just stepped on your dress. Perfect!
You turned around and your scathing words died an untimely death on your tongue as your eyes landed on the burly man. A phone pressed between his shoulder and ear as his brows were furrowed in concentration and frustration, his pink lips jutting out as his blonde hair made his blue eyes shine even brighter.
Steve Rogers. Even if he looked a tid bit more approachable than his twin, he still wasn't someone to mess with. And if you cussed at him, well then you could say goodbye to your career.
You sighed and tentatively stepped closer to him. Gingerly, you touched his bicep.
"Hey, stay away from him!" A coarse, deep voice thundered, making you shriek away from Steve as it left you shaking with fear.
This caught Steve's attention as he looked at you and then at his right. "Clark, where are your manners? Yelling at a lady? And for no reason?"
Clark hissed but you weren't able to look at him. "Shit, brother. I wasn't yelling at her. The man behind you, he has a knife."
You furrowed your brows and turned behind to a worker holding a knife with a deer caught in headlights look.
Steve raised an eyebrow at him as he quickly stuttered out. "This is to open a package." And tossed the knife to a nearby worker who disappeared to the storage room.
Steve sighed heavily. "Clark, I can defend myself, you know that right? Why do you overreact so much? And did you not see her?" And pointed at you.
Clark replied after a beat of silence. "I genuinely didn't. I'm sorry…" He started walking towards you but you only recoiled into Steve with each step he took.
You didn't want his apology, at least not right now. You were far too shaken to think coherently.
Steve sighed and coiled an arm around your clinging form and caressed your side. "Clark, not right now. She's far too shaken up to not cry or scream at you. Try again, later."
"But, brother-"
"Leave." He said through gritted teeth.
Clark's footsteps faded away as you involuntarily hid in his chest, his earthy scent grounding you as he shushed you. "Hey, doll. It's okay, it's alright. He won't hurt you, no one would. It was just a misunderstanding, stop shaking babydoll." He cooed.
His soft deep voice relaxed you but as soon as the fear was gone, embarrassment burnt your cheeks as you stepped away.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to… " You rasped. Did you just rub yourself on The Steve Rogers like a needy kitten?
"Don't say that, doll. My brother caused it so I must fix it."
"Thank you and-" You yelped as you descended down the floor. His foot was still on your dress. Great!
You braced yourself for the impact but bounced in two strong arms as your hands flew to his forearms.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know I was standing on your dress." He said when you snapped your eyes open.
You were swimming in his blue gaze of concern and sincerity. "Yeah, that's what I was trying to say."
"What's your name, doll? Hmmm?" He asked after brought you back to your feet. Your eyes fluttered as his knuckles ran softly over your cheek.
You told him your name.
"Doll is much better, suits you well. Where were you going, anyway?" He quietly asked.
"I-um, I was going to meet Ransom."
"Oh, I was going to meet him as well. Let's go together."
"No, thank you." You politely declined.
"Come with me." He said and dragged you towards the garden.
-
You talked with Ransom till seven, he wasn't at all like the media projected him. Maybe he changed for Alaïa as he was really committed and determined to do things right. They had your blessings to put your feelings into words.
After Steve dragged you to the garden. He was courteous enough to let you talk to your friend and Ransom privately before he joined.
Then you went to finally meet Harlan and had the overdue talk. He wanted to discuss the latest trends in the writing industry and how to incorporate it in his company's branding. So, that it could appeal to younger audience.
It was a long and draining conversation and you deeply sighed, leaning against the wooden door of Harlan's office. You were finally going to the garden, which you wanted to revisit since you stepped foot in it.
"Miss?"
You gasped at the voice and started for the stairs but Clark's body blocked your path, pushing you against the door.
"I didn't want to scare you." He said, genuinely remorseful.
"You are doing that right now." You snapped and he put up his hands in surrender.
"It's not intentional, I swear."
It might not be. The brothers were tall, except Bucky but Clark was a beast. His biceps were larger than your hand and he practically dwarfed you with his sheer shadow. His eyes were also blue but they had a brown sprinkled in them. He had a little beard with a moustache that made him look even more intimidating and sexy. You had never seen a man who looked this sexy in a moustache.
"Well then be more mindful." You bit back.
He nodded and snaked his hand behind him and pulled out a rose. And not just any rose but a black rose. Where he found it you had no idea but it mesmerized you nonetheless. It was something you had only seen on television and seeing it in real life left you agape.
He offered the rose to you. "I'm sorry, princess." He whispered, the nickname heating up your cheeks.
You gingerly took the rose and let a giddy smile tug on your lips. "Okay, I forgive you. Just remember you are way bigger and stronger than most people. Use your strength wisely." He nodded with a bunny smile and you smiled back before heading to the garden.
You loudly and walked into the garden in peace. Walking in the open at night was another level of tranquillity that you didn't get very often, thanks to your dorm in the concrete jungle.
You twirled the rose in your hand, halting at nearby flowers. You bit your lips wanting to pluck some and put them in a vase. Even though they wouldn't last forever, the contrast would still look appealing.
But you didn't have the permission of any of the Drysdale.
"Couldn't sleep?" A dark baritone voice said from behind.
You flinched and turned around to be greeted by Andy Barber, wearing a simple white tee and sweats. A silver chain peeking through the collar as a smirk danced across his bearded cheeks.
"Pleasure meeting you, Mr. Barber."
"The feeling is mutual, miss. How's your headache now?" He raised a brow.
You told him your name and nickname. "And it's much better now, thanks for asking."
"Hmmm, Luna, so fitting for the person and the setting," He erased the distance between you two in two long strides and glanced at you. "I couldn't blame you. The night is beautiful."
"But the garden is even more beautiful." You said as he glanced at you.
"Indeed."
"I don't get to dwell in the greenery much." You resumed your walking.
"How so?" He followed.
"It's just study, sleep and sometimes relax for me."
"What are you studying?"
"Business, last year."
"Internship."
"Freelance." You said with a shake of your head. Andy somehow liked your presence and so did you. He was like the ocean.
"And won't you ask me about my work?" He teased as you were back behind the bushes of colourful roses.
"I know everything about that, Mr. Barber."
"It's Andy, darling," He said and only then did you notice the distance, or lack thereof between you and him. "And so confident about it, darling?"
You swallowed through your smile. "Well, everybody knows about how your work is going. So I'm pretty confident."
He chuckled. "I like it. Tell me more."
You resisted the urge to narrow your eyes as he seemed way too interested in a mere student and you have also grown tired.
"A black rose?" He voiced suddenly, lifting your hand to examine the item.
"Yes, isn't it unique?"
"That it is. Who gave you this?" He demanded softly.
You hesitated before speaking. "Mr. Kent."
"Who?" Andy asked as if you had told him the answer to the Bermuda Triangle mystery.
"Mr. Kent " You squealed as his thumb brushed the underside of your hand.
"Why?"
"Because he accidentally scared me by screaming."
He huffed out a chuckle. "Typical of Clark," He walked closer to you, ceasing the distance between you two completely. You averted your eyes as the tension grew. "It'll look better with some companions."
His hand went above your head and you gasped as he presented you red, yellow, white and light pink roses.
"Andy, you don't have the permission for that." You breathed and shook your head.
"Oh honey, I have all the permission you need." He said and handed you the roses. "Take them, they'll look good together."
You nodded. "Ah, actually I'm feeling sleepy and I'm kinda an insomniac, so it's an opportunity I can't miss. We'll resume our conversation tomorrow." You lied.
He pondered over your words, making you nervous before he smiled and nodded. "Of course, sleep is important. Especially to a beauty like you."
You offered a parting smile and walked away. You hugged yourself as a chill ran down your spine. It was not because of the cold night but the gaze that bore into you and the dark aura that clung to you, you couldn't shake it off even when you tried.
You felt something would change drastically, what and how. You didn't know.

Ser Harwin Strong x reader
genre: very romantic, fluffy, yearning, I mean i squealed while writing it so must be exciting
a/n: Harwin Strong has taken all my attention, not only because its Ryan Corr my childhood crush, also because we got so little of such an eye capturing performance! I have no idea where this came from but I think we all deserve some loving don’t you? Enjoy!
Your heels clicked against the pavement as you took a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens of Kings Landing, members of the court addressing you with a nod while servants bowed as you passed.
You were a Targaryen, first daughter of King Viserys and Aemma. Yet it felt like you were second to everything these days since your Mother and baby brother's passing. With your sister Rhaenyra being announced as the heir to the throne and hostilities within court growing worse by the day, it wasn't difficult as to why.
You were extremely proud and happy for your younger sister, she was truly a force to be reckoned with and meant to rule. But without her and your father, it had become increasingly lonely within the walls you called home.
You missed the simpler times; you and and your father horse riding alongside each other breaking out into laughter as it became a race, Rhaenyra dragging you to the library where she would lay and listen to your voice as you read to her. All of it seemed nothing but a distant memory.
You didn't have many friends apart from a few of the servants. Those who did try to gain your favour at court you came to realise was for their own personal gain, to get closer to your sister or father. And that hurt more than anything. Which is why you denied any affection given to you by any suitor.
However, you always seemed to feel like someone was watching you. When you sat within the council, dancing at one of the many events, even now as you walked through the rows of blooming rose bushes.
In the corner of your eyes, the flash of sunlight against armour caught your attention, a silhouette with a mane of wild curls stood at the entrance of the maze.
Ser Harwin Strong, you recognised. Captain of the City Watch and your personal guard. His features rugged, handsome you dare say, like he had been ripped straight out of one of the great paintings that hung within the castle walls.
He was a man men and women fawned over at dances and the hunts, hoping to gain his favour. And yet his attention seemed drawn only to you. But that was because he was there to protect you, nothing more. Yet it still warmed the depths of your belly that he kept an ever watchful eye over you.
You paused mid step, anxiety gripping you, screaming at you to continue onwards. But you changed trajectory, walking towards the maze and marched right towards him. A gentle smile overtook his features you noticed as you grew closer, greeting you with a bow of his head.
‘Morning Princess.’
‘Good morning Ser Harwin! I hope you are faring well this morning?’
‘Besides training the new blood who seem worse than the last batch, I am my lady, thank you.’
You chuckled softly, nodding towards the maze. ‘I was wondering if you would take a walk with me? Seems like a good day for it.’
Harwin couldn’t help but smile briefly before allowing you to walk onwards first, following close at your side. The pavement changed to pebbles, the sound resonating in the silence that lay between the two of you.
‘And you, my lady?’
You looked to him as the deep rumble of his voice caught your attention, dazed by his brilliant brown eyes, almost amber in the sunlight. ‘I’m sorry?’
He chuckled, armour clinking as he ducked his head before looking towards you. ‘How are you? It’s only courteous of me to ask in return for your kindness.’
There were so many things you wanted to say. You wanted to tell him everything and yet nothing all at once. The lump in your throat grew, and yet the words left quicker than you expected.
‘I won’t lie Ser Harwin I feel I'm at a standstill. People seem to be moving in and out of my life sooner than I’d like. I feel the role of a spinster will do me well better than a princess with the way I’m going.’
Harwin’s brow furrowed, faltering ever so slightly in his step. ‘You don’t mean that.’
‘But I do!’ You started, jumping at the sound of your own voice raising, glancing towards the knight who remained unchanged, however halting in his place. ‘‘I-I’m sorry I didn’t-’
‘Do not apologise,’ He said as he stepped closer, but he kept his distance. He didn’t want to overwhelm you. ‘What truly troubles you my lady?’
You wanted to weep. No one had ever asked how you felt.
‘As feeble as it may sound I’m afraid of being left behind. My sister, heavy is her head that will wear the crown, is blessed and loved by all, but busy with the duties of being a leader. My father is enraptured by his newfound family while I’m left to the wolves to fend for myself. Every person at court comes to my side with wishes and hopes, for my love and attention, only to want to gain favour with my family, not me! And it hurts it-’
The words died on your lips, taking in the worry that was etched upon Harwin’s face. He pitied you, like everyone else he probably did.
‘I’ve spoken out of turn,’ You muttered as if you hadn’t been on the verge of crying almost moments ago. All emotion had left your voice, you wouldn’t show weakness, you couldn’t. ‘You must be sick of having to watch over me.’
‘Princess-’
'I'm sure Rhaenyra would be happy to have you as her personal guard-'
'I did not ask for her, Y/N. I asked to protect you,' He said. You froze, mouth seamlessly moving without making a sound. Though his tone had been firm, his eyes spoke only gentle reassurance. The way your name slipped from his lips sent chills down your spine.
‘Wh-What did you say?’
Harwin sighed, his heart pounding against his chest. ‘When I was given the honour of Captain of the Watch, I asked-no, requested that I was put to your side.’
‘But why-’
‘You must know there is something there between us, do you not princess?’
You knew what he was talking about.
Longing looks you both exchanged from across the room, the way he watched you as you danced with other men, while you watched him mingle with the ladies of the court. Brief touches of his hand against yours when he passed by or on the small of your back as he led you through the castle.
There was a fire between the two of you, and it grew every more fierce as the days passed. And you couldn’t help but deny it.
‘No I don’t know what you’re talking about.’
Harwin stepped forward and you couldn't help but stray away, only to find your back pressed against the hedge. His hand found purchase firmly on your hip, the weight and heat almost soothing, thumb stroking gently against the fabric of your dress. Your eyes looked anywhere but his, breathing deeply, the scent of pine wood invaded your senses.
You gasped as his fingertips slipped between yours, his palm engulfing yours as he gave it a gentle squeeze. He ducked his head, looking into your eyes.
‘I care for you Y/N. I know it may not be correct to say it but I will not deny it. And I know that you feel the same way.’
No he couldn’t. Ser Harwin Strong could never be in love with you. Maybe an infatuation but no, not love.
Hearing the crunch of pebbles beneath boot, you glanced back towards Harwin now watching as you walked away, his golden cape billowing in the wind. And as he stood there, he promised himself he would make sure you knew how loved your were.
You pulled away, shaking your head as your chest heaved. As you dashed through the garden you couldn’t help but glance around. There were eyes everywhere, one could never be too careful.

THE CONTINUATION OF THE IKEA VERSE
Okay, so this isn't quite an actual update yet, but I've been gone for a while and I wanted to let y'all know what's going on.
The last chapter of Classification System has been fighting me. Bruce and Damian's confrontation is important, but, up until now, I had no clue how it needed to go, or wanted it to end. After all, this story never had a planned plot, and was rather more a chaotic amalgamation of vibes that grew legs and dragged me along for the ride. While that worked well for the first story, the second wanted to veer into serious territory, which is maybe why it was fighting me so hard. I have serious stories, but IKEA Verse has never really been one of them.
So I started thinking of a third installment, hoping this inspiration would drive me to find the proper course for how Bruce and Damian's confrontation should unfold. So I put on my thinking cap, and thought, "hmmm... how am I going to bring back the fun and excitement and hilarity of the first installment, while still continuing Damian and Marinette's relationship?"
And my evil brain responded with...
"~Bigger is better, and better is bigger, a little bit is never enough, no, no, no!~"
So, ladies, gents, and others I now present to you the third installment of The IKEA VERSE:
THE GREAT GOTHAM SEWER RACE
CALLING ALL RACERS! Underneath Gotham lay miles of caverns, lava pools, zombie hordes, interdimensional racing tracks, funhouse hallways, a maze full of doors that do not open and lead into a never ending madness, a mysterious banked fog, submerged waterways, ancient temples, and more! Come try your hand at claiming the ultimate prize which lay hidden at the finish line.
If you survive...
Coming 2024!
So... yeah, IKEA Game Verse is getting a third installment. The last chapter of Classification System, should be out sometime within the next month or two, now that I have proper motivation to get it finished. And starting the new year I'll be posting the Great Gotham Sewer Race! Hope this makes up for the months of radio silence (although I have posted a few chapters of my Marvel fic, so I haven't been totally silent).
As always, all comments, suggestions, and ideas are welcome! The bigger and crazier the better and if it's good, there's a high likelihood it'll end up in the story (after all the knowledge of IKEA stores with ball pits was given via comment, and we all know how that panned out.) Think Hanabarbara Wacky Races! If anyone still remembers that show. Tell me who you want to see! ANYONE IN DC is open for consideration, other fandoms are also encouraged (the caverns beneath Gotham are interdimensional and inter-universal!) Tell me if there's any challenge, or obstacle, or event you want to see! I'm open anything and everything.
I hope this sparks excitement for y'all as it has done for me. See you soon!

Day 10
You thought you had escaped him.
You considered yourself lucky.
But you soon learned there was no such thing in the labyrinth, and the Minotaur lingered with you long after you fled the carnage he caused in the forest.
Twigs and filaments of hedging scratched at your face and neck where you made a break into a barely visible gap onto another path in the maze. Your heart pounding, you couldn’t quell the terrified shriek when the air was disturbed behind you, a massive shadow racing past where you had just escaped from.
Another close call.
It wouldn’t take him long to circle back when he lost the trail. You needed to hurry.
Swimming through the hedgerow, you clawed your way to the other side desperately. It was too dark suddenly, the thicket too dense for you to see farther than your nose where you were coffined within the black foliage. When you hand finally breached the other side, however, it wasn’t open air that met it.
It felt like a living volcano under your fingers.
If the magma and rock and fury could be made man as a growl began deep in his throat, vibrating under your hand and filling you with the most intoxicating dread. It surrounded you in a sea of lava, cutting off your every exit. Made you hot when you realized the rock under your hand was instead solid muscle.
But instead of pulling away – burned – your hand moved on its own, tracing downward… getting hotter the closer you came to the source. The cloth at his groin gave you pause when something swayed beneath it.
Something mean.
Something designed to break you into submission. Or death. Whichever came first.
You finally reacted to the burn, yanking your hand away as common sense rammed into you ruthlessly.
He found you already.
How-
You didn’t have time to finish the question, a massive hand erupting through the hedging to collar your throat, his blood-thirsty bellow drowning out the sound of your neck snapping as you were dragged from a fitful sleep with a gasp.
The underside of a large root met your gaze, your hand flying to your neck to ensure you were still alive. If your pulse racing under your fingers didn’t convince you, your ragged breaths did as you tried to swallow around the fear lodged in your throat, your mouth fuzzy with thirst.
A… a dream?
You groaned, pressing the heels of your hands into your eyes as you willed your heart to slow. Not again…
Not even in your dreams were you free from being hunted. Not even sleep rid you of the all-encompassing punishment the labyrinth insisted on subjecting you to. It truly was hell on earth, with no way out in sight.
You’d be stuck here for an eternity if you weren’t run down and killed first.
What would you even do if you escaped? The question sobered you as you pulled yourself out from the small dimple of space you’d taken shelter in under a root, the entrance to which was hidden by a sheet of draped moss.
It was impossible to tell how long you’d been asleep, stretching your aching arms above your head. The concealed sky hid the suns movements, but since it still shone behind the clouds, you knew it couldn’t have been for very long. The glare pounded behind your eyes, your dream finally catching up with you at the same time you became aware of something equally disturbing.
A decided slickness between your legs and a familiar throb you never normally had trouble finding someone to take care of.
But this wasn’t due to the drunken high of a midnight dance, or the wandering hands of a handsome god while you slept in his bed after a night of passion. It was… because of him.
Curse your nature as a nymph.
It was a well understood fact that nymphs – by their existence – were personifications of the natural world and therefore, were often drawn to the primal. To areas of potent carnal energy and overindulgence that often manifested in the parties Dionysus threw night after night, the whisper of an arrow from Artemis’ bow to fell a boar whose head would decorate the tables of plenty. The sex and orgies and decadence that you now found yourself on the flip side of.
You were connected to nature, to the very essence of the primordial and so… you were attracted to it. In all its’ forms.
But a beast? That was a far cry from an over-indulgence of wine and pleasure.
Something was wrong with you. It had to be.
The labyrinth was making you mad… it had to be.
Realization propelled you to your feet as if you could escape those unwelcome thoughts and intrusive truths by simply running from them.
But they, like him, clung to your subconscious like nightshade you’d foolishly mistaken for burdock. Now, removing the burs was an obsolete task. The poison had already taken hold. A poison that made your hand tingle and pussy clench with the memory of a monstrous girth your imagination cooked up.
You blamed it on everything you could as you tried to find your bearings. You blamed it on the maze itself. You blamed it on Hera and her proclivity for curses. You blamed it on Zeus and his wandering gaze. You blamed it on the water, believing it to be bewitched even as you dropped to your knees to guzzle great handfuls of the life-giving essence at the first stream you found.
You even blamed it on the Minotaur himself.
In taking so long to catch you and put you out of your misery, you were forced to become accustomed to the fear… leaving room for other, more dangerous emotions to fill the space it once took up entirely.
There wasn’t time to ponder what those emotions might be when a shriek echoed across the labyrinth, raw and terrified before it was cut short with unnatural abruptness. That wasn’t unusual. You had grown accustomed to the way the wind carried screams far more willingly than any other sound to torment the labyrinths inhabitants.
It did, however, remind you of how exposed you were by the water. Especially if he had started hunting so early.
That was unusual.
He was usually far more active at night. As though cloaked in shadows, he could pursue his victims with a deadly invincibility. The shadows themselves an extension of his terror, confusing the instincts of every prisoner as they fled his tireless pace.
But he wasn’t the only villain within the confines of the labyrinth.
It had been a harrowing realization that just because he was the apex predator, didn’t mean there weren’t others willing to do anything, hurt anyone to ensure their own survival. You might have been wrongly convicted and sentenced here, but that wasn’t the same for everyone.
The back of your neck prickled suddenly with awareness, making you whirl where you came face to face with a man and a woman standing a short distance away, their hands raised in the universal sign of surrender. Their dress more worn and features more weathered, it was clear they’d been here much longer than you had.
Eyes widened and mind fresh with the knowledge that humans were capable of as much brutality as the gods, you backed away slowly. How could you not have heard them?
“Easy,” the woman began, her voice smoky and attractive, calling to the sisterly attachment you had been devoid of since coming here, “you are alone in this hellscape, traveller?”
That question was too loaded, and your guard fortified further.
You gulped, eyes flicking mistrustfully to the male standing silently by her side, his hand palming the butt of a crude knife of carved stone while sharp, black eyes scanned their surroundings. The woman noticed, placing herself half in front of him to drag your attention back to her.
“My name is Penelope, and this is one of my companions, Nikos.”
“One of—” you heard yourself speak warily, eyes darting to bushes, shrubs, the maze itself… all capable of hiding others.
“They’re not here.” You gulped when Penelope continued, your eyes finally pulled back to her. “We got separated during the night and have been trying to find them ever since. You are welcome to join us if you’d like.”
You didn’t miss the stifled noise Nikos made as his eyes snapped to Penelope, but she remained focused on you.
Tangled black hair was pulled away from her face in a long mane, various braids throughout the locks reminding you of those worn by Artemis’ hunters whom you often guided throughout the night. She wasn’t one. You were merely trying to find familiarity in her dirt-stained skin and keen, green eyes.
“There are about twelve of us, we look out for one another, work as a team—pool resources, take turns keeping watch, finding food. It works, and I’ve been part of it since it was formed. It’s the best the likes of us are ever going to get in here, traveller.”
Your jaw tensed at her ready acceptance of the way things were and you didn’t miss the way Nikos’ grip tightened on his weapon.
“You’ve seen him, haven’t you?” She continued when you remained silent. You averted your eyes, the woman misinterpreting it for agreement and not the blush you were attempting to hide.
“This place robs us of everything but hope.” A chill entered Penelope’s voice. “That is his to destroy. It’s why so few last beyond escaping him. They realize there is no hope, and simply give up. You can see it in their eyes.”
You didn’t like her insinuation, nor the dullness in her gaze. Is… that what she meant? Did you look like that? Catching your frown, Penelope shook her head.
“But not yours.” Penelope smiled, the first tug of kindness stinging your eyes suddenly. “You still have some hope inside you, we could use that.”
“Pen—” Nikos began on a rumble, turning towards her with a familiar hold to her elbow while he cast a suspicious glance towards you.
“The fact you’re still alive is admirable, traveller. But it won’t stay that way if you remain alone.” Penelope ignored him to keep talking to you. Were you so transparent that she could tell you were being swayed? That the thought of company in this abyss was as tempting as the thought of being swallowed by it?
Your brows fell over your eyes suspiciously, suddenly unsure of their intent. You saw what you got out of this offer, but what did they?
“We don’t have much, but there is strength in numbers. “
You cursed your lack of experience with mortals. Maybe if you lived among them instead of observing them from afar in the safety of the night sky, their actions might make more sense to you. But in reality, outside the occasional dalliance with a warrior or three, you had no notion of why humans did… anything they ended up doing.
They were much too juvenile, their lives too short to be sure of anything before they died.
“We cannot linger, Pen.” Nikos insisted once more, drawing you out of your mind. “It’s clear she doesn’t want—"
Penelope silenced him with a pat to the bicep. Ah. Lovers. You understood that. The man grizzled, but subdued as she took a testing step towards you, smiling when you didn’t retreat.
“When was the last time you ate something other than a few raw nuts? Slept longer than an hour at any one time? Felt protected?”
You didn’t know.
Honestly, it felt like an eternity since you’d experienced any of that. Your stomach growled treacherously, telling her your answer. Still, you wouldn’t be swayed. That only ever got you in trouble, being swayed by others.
“I know enough about life to know nothing is free…” You flinched internally when Nikos shifted, the wind mercifully carrying your voice, as soft as it was. “How do you benefit from having another mouth to feed?”
In your periphery, a sprinkle of stardust shimmered atop the stream you stood within. If they didn’t already know you were a divinity, they very soon would. And the greed of humans could rival that of Zeus himself…
“That—”
A branch snapping made you jump, the sound of your neck breaking in your dream flashing across your memory along with a clamour of instinct.
Danger.
It wailed in your mind, forcing you back several steps, snapping out of the fantasy you’d found yourself in with the sudden dread that you’d been hoodwinked.
But it wasn’t the mortals.
They looked just as taken by surprise as you were, all pleasantness from the exchange falling as survival instincts kicked in and Nikos pulled out his dagger, Penelope palming her own weapon at her hip cautiously.
Another snap and then it was silent. Dreadfully so.
“Into the maze, quickly!” Nikos hissed. “Now!”
You didn’t need to be told twice. Without looking back, you sloshed across the river, the tell-tale silence of the water breaking around you heralding his arrival like the crack of a whip spurring you faster. You only realized the others were following by the sound of their laboured breathing.
So… the labyrinth silenced everything but the people within it. What a terrible mechanism for hunting.
But you couldn’t concern yourself with their welfare, yours was at stake and they had each other.
Breaking left on instinct, déjà vu struck you when you caught sight of a gap in the greenery. You would’ve missed it entirely had a similar shortcut not been present in your dream earlier that day. And echoing your dream further, the mortals sprinted past it, losing you while you shimmied through the small space onto another path entirely.
A bellow sounded across the silent maze, an explosion of noise sending birds into the air and those stuck on the ground to flee or hide.
“Shit, shit, shit—” you whispered under your breath when you noticed the flurry of stardust coating the leaves of the hedge where you passed through it. It practically signposted your route to anyone who passed by.
Futilely, you tried to knock it off but only succeeded in spreading it further. Your panic over covering your tracks overshadowed all else until you heard it. A sound that made your stomach drop as you lifted your eyes to the hedging.
A snort.
It froze you in place as the other side of the gap you had passed through was blocked by something dark and massive.
But unlike your dream, it wouldn’t take much to reach through to the other side.
You really were going mad…
Why else were you still here? Why were you not running?
A dangerous game presented itself to you suddenly, one you had no idea you’d been playing all this time when the monster on the other side of the hedgerow stayed where he was instead of charging you like you’d heard him do to countless others.
Would he be as molten hot as he was in your dream, you wondered in awe. Would he be as hard?
Maybe the entire thing hadn’t been a dream at all, but a premonition of your fate. One last gift of Atropos before she cut the string of your long life. But that hardly made a dent in your psyche the way it ought to, the way it once would have.
Indeed, it hardly made a ripple as the thought of huge horns and wide shoulders you’d only seen in shadows mated with the burning recollection of a touch only present in your dreams to create a single, enticing creature before you.
You took a wary step closer, the eldritch shadow on the other side shifting at the sound.
Another snort followed the first. Sharper, your scent caught, and you halted before you could get any closer. A throaty growl rumbled around you, giving you a split second to step back before the hedging shook and a forearm burst from the same gap you passed through with ease.
It was all that could fit, you realized, his forearm alone as thick as your thigh. Dark skin was littered in constellations of scars and hair, and the hand attached to it… was that of a man. Knuckles bruised and bloody, fingers thick and palm broad while a ring of fresh bruises surrounded his wrist and gave you pause when he pulled it back.
A warriors hand.
Apart from its size, you’d seen countless hands like this in your time and been touched by as many. That violent possessiveness and brutal affection was unique to hands who caressed their weapons the way they did a woman’s body. That sought to protect or destroy in the spilling of blood and ecstasy.
Either was possible until the moment it happened. There was a thrill in not knowing until it was too late.
You resented the trickle of wetness you could feel slip down your inner thighs, his growl deepening.
You should have run.
You should have run ages ago. If you had, you wouldn’t have been burdened with what you considered the last nail in the coffin on your sanity. The last vestige of hope Penelope was talking about. For when you heard his voice… attraction bloomed in a way it never had before inside you.
In a way you feared you’d never be able to return from.
“Lost… little… star—” His voice was so low it shook the earth, a primal gravel that removed all notions of humanity were it not for your ability to understand him.
“Run.”
You finally broke from your frozen stupor, dashing blindly any which way. It didn’t matter if you disoriented yourself. If you lost yourself completely. You needed to ensure you couldn’t find your way back there… to him and the filthy promise in unspoken words if he caught you.
Tears streaked down your cheeks as you did, unable to care if they – or your stardust – were leaving a scent trail for him to follow when it dawned on you that he wasn’t just hunting randomly anymore.
He was hunting you.
But the worst thing was, as you ran, breath stolen and heart hammering, your tears were joined by a delirious smile of adrenaline filled ecstasy. While separated from the stars, you found your lost connection to the core of nature through fear, brazen danger. Him.
It terrified you enough that when another endless night of evading his singular pursuit came to a close and you staggered on jelly legs to the closest body of water only to run into Nikos once again, you didn’t hesitate to beg for his help.
To take him up on Penelope’s offer though she was nowhere to be seen. You were blind to anything else but the panic-induced need you had to flee what had happened in the labyrinth that night.
You needed to stop these feelings from growing. Stop them, even if it meant cutting yourself off from the very nature you once thought lost to you that now pounded on your psyche with a wild, bestial need.

Comfort After A Nightmare - Male!Reader x Lumine
CW: None.
Tumblr media
Her steps echo through the damp, dark hallways.
A maze. She always hated those. Dirty, rotting, forgotten with little to no treasure to be found. This time, her pursuit was not motivated by any prize however.
Her eyes follow the trace of white pages, trampled into the muddy floor by undiscernable footsteps. On them, the sketches you showed her countless times. Her face, drawn with the most meticulous of details covering them. Always smiling, always kind. A sparkle in her eyes, the only colored part of the image was mocking her, and the small heart on the corner of the page laughed at her efforts. At how stupid, worthless, idiotic she is.
She lost you. First it was Aether, then it was you. Two of the most important men in her life, gone. She can't help the tears. How pathetic. She can't hold even her dearest ones close.
The filth stains her stocking, the mud sucks her feet deeper in, making her lose her balance. She trips, her hands doing nothing to break the fall. Her face lands in the black, maggot filled grime.
Where she belongs.
"Stupid… S-stupid! Worthless! Dumb! D-dumb…!"
She raises to her feet, without her shoes. She doesn't have time to go back for them. The trail of ripped pages is dragging on, but the paper grows more… yellow by the second. Tattered, old. Sharp rocks cut her feet, blood mixing with the puddle water, but she powers through the pain and speeds up.
Lumine makes a turn, and comes face to face with a wall. She steps back in disbelief, but quickly turns back. Her eyes land on cold, unmoving stone. She snaps around in every direction, but all she can see is the same barrier. Surrounded by her shortcoming, walls she can't climb over.
"No, no, no…" Her cold prison has no compassion for her, only silent mocking.
Everything goes dark, making Lumine jump. She lifts her bruised and soaked hands to feel her surroundings. Much to her confusion, she doesn't feel the walls anymore - just lightless void. She makes a few hesitant steps forward, careful to maintain her balance. Out of the darkness, the pages emerge, forming a steady trail. Lumine follows it without hesitation, stepping over the more and more frequent yellowed pages.
Until she sees you.
You’re lying there, amidst a pile of your drawings, back turned towards her. She disregards her safety and rushes to kneel beside you. Your outfit, so ingrained in her mind, is stained with dark, red blood.
“Y/N? P-please…”
Lumine gently grabs your shoulder and tilts you sideways. Your eyes, once full of light, full of life, are now white, as is your skin. She chokes back a sob. The blood on your hands and cheeks is long dry.
If only she would have been faster.
“Y/N…” She grips your lifeless body tighter, cradling it in her arms. Hot tears stream down her cheeks, washing little bits of dry mud from her skin. “I’m s-sorry…”
Failure. Failure. Failure. That’s what she is, a failure. She barely even spent time with you. She wasn’t there to ease your worries, to hug and cuddle you when you were struggling. And yet you were always beside her, ready to help. And she?
She wasn’t even there to comfort you during your last moments.
Your body blackens, durning with a red flame - just like those of the many monsters she killed throughout her travels. This time too she is the murderer, the perpetrator. A failed partner, a disappointing lover.
Lumine sits among your ashes and weeps.
“Lumine.”
She jolts awake, instantly sitting up. Her heart is racing, her arms shooting out to assess her surroundings. Lumine is breathing rapidly, the remnants of the dark maze still clouding her mind. She quickly registers your hands on her shoulders, warm and firm. Safe, secure, real.
“Y-Y/N…”
She drops her head on your chest, sobbing quietly. You pull her body closer to yours.
“It’s okay. It’s okay. I’m here.” Gently, you rub circles into her back. “That was just a dream.”
She embraces you, nuzzling her head into your frame. “I’m sorry… I’m s-sorry… I… I s-should spend more time with you, I should b-be home m-more.. I should b-be…”
She tries her best to explain, to promise that she won’t fail you. That she won’t let you down, she won’t fail, she won’t be such a pathetic excuse of a girlfriend.
“Please, Lumine. Don’t say such things.” You keep your voice as gentle as you can, and lean back on the bed with her.
“B-but…”
You turn her tear-soaked head to look at yours. Her golden eyes are filled with sorrow. “No buts. I love you, Lumine. Nothing will change that.”
She sniffles. “I… I can’t lose you too, p-please… stay…”
You pull her closer into your embrace, caressing her blonde hair with your fingers.
“I’m not going anywhere, Lumine. I’ll be here. For as long as I can, I will support you, no matter where your journey will take us.”
“C-could you… promise me? P-please…”
You smile. “I promise.”

I should really be working on my other fic's but I just need to get this out of my head. Not proof read (when is anything)
Cw: dubcon/cnc. Drugs, smut, blood, death, and violence. 18+, MDNI
Tumblr media
Another boring party, a gathering of people you didn't care much for. They are your boyfriends friends and associates, they scare you. Being around a bunch of drunk idiots, lines of coke and who knows what spread out on the coffee table.
You should have broken up with him a long time ago. But the sex was decent and he liked spending his money on you. Luxury vacations, a new car, a penthouse in the city and all the best designer clothes. You became complaint in this mess.
Stumbling away from the dwindling party goers, trying to get away from the noise and to find your boyfriend Sergi. You always hated this house, so isolated in the woods. Acres of nothing but wilderness surrounding you, mocking you. The hallways always a maze, trying to find the door to the bathroom.
Staring at yourself in the mirror, surrounded by marble, quartz and gold fixtures. Your eyeliner was smudged, lipstick long gone. You looked like you fell down a flight of stairs. Wiping away the mess and making yourself look less depressing. Fresh air, that's what you needed.
Walking back out, everything was eerily quieter than before. A few people still sprawled out on the white leather sofa, in different stages on undress. You avoided looking, not wanting to see what comes next. Wandering down another white empty hallway, following the sound of hushed voices. Finding your boyfriend, and two of his closest friends gathered around a desk. Talking about the next shipment and distribution. His eyes snapping to yours, a quick flick of something nafarious behind him before he smiled big, beckoning you inside.
"Come darling." he motioned for you to enter, you hesitated. "I'm going to go get some air." you mumbled, stumbling towards the back entrance that led to the pool and patio. Hearing your boyfriends footsteps catching up to you. His arms encasing you from behind, pulling you into his chest.
"You ok?" he asks, a small hint of genuine concern. "Yeah, yes. I- just needing air. That's all." you struggled to say. His lips peaking you in the side of your head as he let you go. Giving your ass a hard smack, a small yelp leaving your throat. "Don't be gone for too long." it was a warning, one you wont take lightly. Giving him a small smile as he walked back to the office.
Soon as you stepped into the crisp night air you sucked in a deep breath. Allowing it to fill your lungs and blowing it back out. Taking a seat on one of the lounge chairs, closing your eyes and indulging in the silence.
Glass, the sound of it shattering disturbing your small slice of peace.
"What the hell was that?" you asked yourself, sitting up in the lounger, side eyeing the house. That's when the screams started to come in. Turning your blood into ice, you shot up from your spot. Racing to the door your came from, and towards the office. The door was closed and locked, you started to bang on it before hearing gun fire coming from the common area.
Your heart was racing, what the hell was going on. Before you could gather yourself one of your boyfriends came running around the corner. His clothes covered in blood, his eyes locked on you as he ran up. Taking a hold of you as he continued to run back down the hallway towards the back entrance.
"We gotta get the fuck out of here." he was yelling right into your ear but he sounded so far away. Your mind was locking up, struggling to understand how dire your situation has become.
"What-.. What the fuck is going on?" you asked the man, trying to remember his make. Leo, it has to be. "It's a fucking sting, we need to get far away." he dragged you down the stone steps leading towards the front of the house. Coming to a stop, armoured vechiles were blocking the driveway.
"Fuck." he whispered, looking around for another option. "Where's Sergi?" you asked Leo, your boyfriend where the hell is he?
"Hiding that mother fucker." Leo hissed quietly. He finally looked at you, his head tilted has he looked you up and down. Suddenly becoming very self conscious of your barely there dress. You yanked you hand from his grip, taking a few steps back. His face twisting into anger.
"Where the fuck you think your going." he hissed, stomping towards you. You bolted, running back into the house. Turning the corner and being met with a blood bath, three bodies filled with bullet holes and oozing blood. You had to shut your eyes to stop the vomit from rising. "You stupid fucking bitch." Leo roared from behind you, you ran past the living room and to the stairs. Taking two at a time as you climbed them, Leo's heavier footsteps not far behind.
Taking sharp turns down the maze of endless white hall ways, opening the master bedroom and slamming it closed behind you. Using you body as weight while trying to secure the lock, Leo throwing his into the door. Screaming and cursing from behind the secure door, you began stepping back from the door. Watching as it shook from his impact, a loud shot ringing out. You barely missed the bullet as it prentrated through the door. A thump followed by blood seeped from under, you found yourself gasps for air. Running to the attached bathroom just in time to empty your stomach into the bathtub, crumpling to the floor. You couldn't stop the trembling as it wrecked your body. The hicupping and head pounding, everything was too much.
You were too busy spiraling too notice and a shadow emerge from the closet, closing in on your fast. The butt of a rifle connection to the back of your head, sending you into the abyss.
You woke sometime later, face down and drooling. Your hands were tied at your back, your ankles fastened together. You could hear your name being called as you came in and out of consciousness. Finally getting you eyes to focus on the to your left, Sergi, his face was beaten and bloody. But he was alive, your tried to reach out to him but couldn't. "Shh, shh, it's ok." he whispered out. "What the fuck." you croaked back. "Quiet, they are close." he hissed to you. Turning silent as the masked assailants entered what you assumed was the dining room. Sergi turned from you, eyes straight ahead as blood soaked boots came to stop in front of him.
"Up!" a thick German voice yelled, you and Sergi were yanked up into your knees. You eyes followed the boots all the way up passed two massive thighs followed by a wide torso and shoulders. A hooded head rested upon them, it's stormy blue eyes piercing down at you. You couldn't help the gaps that left your mouth, it was followed by a laugh from the giant. His eyes trailing up and down your body, you could feel a breeze brush past your ass, looking down to find the bottom of your dress pushed up to your waist, exposed to the prying eyes of the people around you.
The giant tore his eyes from you and focused them on your boyfriend Sergi. "Tell where the coordinates and I'll let her live." you turned to Sergi, watching as the command bounced around his head. He didn't look at you, didn't even acknowledge you were there. Instead he spit at the man in front, cursing him to hell. The man who your assumed was the leader stuck out his leg, connecting his boot with Sergi's jaw. His head snapping back as blood splattered across your face.
You jumped back from the impact, the trembling starting up again. You tried not to panic, but you could feel your lungs locking up, refusing to cooperate. Bile rose in your throat, burning a path up and out. Releasing it all to the right of you, doubling over in pain. All you could hear is your own vomiting and laughter.
"I'll let you watch as I take my time with her." the words weren't directed at you but to the bleeding man howling in pain next to you. The German was knelt down in front of your boyfriend, holding his head by the hair. "Don't worry, I'll put you out before we finish her." the English was broken but you got the message. Your body was racked by sobs and pleas, you didn't know what you were saying. You couldn't look at Sergi's face, knowing he never truly cared about you beyond your body and face.
"Shhhhhh." the giant was now on you, grabbing your chin in his grip and facing you towards him. The hood over his face making him look much more menacing. "We'll have our fun." he taunted as he dragged his knife down the side of your face towards your chest. You could feel the blade slide across your chest, and down the center of your breasts as it tore open your dress.
The hooded monster removed the blade and tucked it into his belt. Grabbing you by the throat as he easily maneuvered you to the dining table, tossing you belly first onto the wood. Taking a hold of your bound arms, you felt the restraints around your ankles come undone, the thick thighs of your captors edging itself between your thighs. You felt his gloved hands grip the flesh of your ass, pulling your cheeks apart and finishing with a hard slap.
"You better be watching. Won't recognize this oreety face when I'm done." he was taunting your boyfriend. Grinding his hips into your ass, pushing his hard bulging crotch into you. Making you squirm and gasp, closing you eyes hard. Trying to make everything stop and disappear. "What a hot body." the giant said all to quietly as he ripped the dress from your body. Tossing the shredded material to the side, leaving you in only your risqué panties. You could hear him hmm in approval behind you, his hands running up and down your back as the dug into your hips, gripping your panties as he slid them down your legs.
"I'll tell you!" Sergi's voice screamed from behind, making the German stop in his tracks. "So now you play." the giant teased once again grabbing your ass cheeks and spreading them. You could feel the cool air kiss your lips as he spread you open, you tried clenching you thighs but was stopped by a hard stinging slap to your ass. And suddenly the instrusion was gone, leaving you bare, cold and vulnerable bent over the table.
"I'm waiting." the heavy accent barked, making you flinch, you didn't dare to move. You could hear Sergi mumble some numbers off before the room became overwhelmingly silent. "See, that wasn't hard." the German mocked. His hard body once again pressed against your, grabbed a fist full of your hair, yanking you around so you faced your boyfriend. Another masked figure stood behind him, gun to his head. You clamped your eyes closed just in time as the gun went off and your boyfriends brains hit you.
A violent so left your body as you heard his hit the floor. A slap echoed across your face, "What a shame." the massive German said from beside you, "It was a beautiful site. But not beautiful like you." he sneered. Realization sunk into your belly, this giant was gonna rape you and probably kill you now. He shoved your body forward and towards the living room. Pushing you belly first onto the bloodied sofa, only stopped to kick a body onto the ground.
"Clean up!"he commanded, footsteps retreating, leaving you alone with him." I'll make you enjoy." he whispered behind you, the sound of a belt being undone followed by a zipper. " Please, please!" you sobbed, trying to lossen his grip on the back of your neck that pinned you in place. "Don't worry, you'll be begging on my cock soon." you felt some hot and big press against you entrance. Stretching you out painfully, feeling your pussy tighten even more. You began thrashing even harder now, trying your best to resist.
A warm tongue licked you ear and cheek, "take it" he said, pulling back and spitting at your conjoined bodies. Moving his hips in and out as the wetness began coating you. After a moment his hips snpped forward, knocking the air from your lungs. Your mouth agape in a silent scream, your eyes rolling to the back of your head. He used your bound hands and neck as leverage as he pounder into you. All you could do was take it, whimpering and crying now and then.
He left you go, dropping face first into the stained leather, a rough gloved hand pushing into way to your pussy, finding you clit and grinding against it harshly. Making you grit through your teeth, the pressure residing as he lazily circled your now throbbing clit. You tried to fight the building sensation making its way to your core. You tried thinking of your dead boyfriend in the next room but nothing could stop the violent orgasm that ripped through your body. Making your choke on your spit as it drooled out of your mouth.
Your pussy clenched tightly around him, making his movements flatter as he chased his own high. Burying the head of his cock roughly against your sore crevix, releasing deep into you. His own loud moans finally quieting has his hips ceased to move. You could feel him catching his breath, the orgasm knocking the wind out of him. Seconds later his cock left your aching pussy, stuffing himself back into his pants.
He left you there as he grabbed a discarded throw blanket from a chair in the room. Pulling you up gently and wrapping it around your spent body. "Now that wasn't bad." he cooed, rubbing a hand up and down your hair. "Went just as planned didn't it?" he was fishing for a compliment that you gladly gave him. "Of course my King." your mouthed over his lips obscured by the hood.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 / Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Bonus (18+)
-------------
A/N: And one week later, the Gotham adventure continues💙
-------------
You arrive at Arkham Asylum, finding the eerie building abandoned, with the expectations of a few mutants. One mutant especially, makes Leo realize a fear he did not know he had.
Warnings: Spelling, fear gas visions, imaginary death, angst, desperation.
The reader and the turtles are 19.
--------------
“I win!”, Robin said proudly as he landed at the gates of Arkham Asylum. “And you owe me a pizza”, he said, gesturing towards you, seeming oblivious for a short time, as the rest of you took in the appearance of Arkham Asylum and its menacing atmosphere. From the gates to the front entrance, was a path marked with dead trees, all casting contorted shadows on the ground. Its gothic walls were dark, with a glow of green and red, giving it a sickening appearance. Windows were smashed and not a single window carried any light, making it feel similar to a haunted house in the worst horror movies.
“I’ve never liked this place”, you mumbled, causing Leo to turn his head slightly towards you. The look on your face, it wasn’t fear. Batman had probably learned you to not show fear, yet there was something in your eyes. Your pretty eyes. A determination yet a hesitance. Leo noticed how your shoulders had tensed a bit, and how your demeanor had changed so much since your small race on the rooftops.
Leonardo offered his elbow out to you ever so slightly, causing you to look at him in slight confusion. “Just hold on if you ever need to”, he said, feeling his heartbeat to raise ever so slightly when he saw a small smile on your lips.
“No sign of the Foot or the League”, Batman’s deep voice sounded, causing both of you to jump back to reality, back in front of Arkham’s threatening gate. “Stay sharp”.
With all of your weapons ready, you followed Batman up the path and through the main doors. None of you saw anyone. Not a single soul. All you could see was the dark corners of Arkham, and the haunting silence.
BANG.
You jumped slightly, placing a hand on Leonardo’s arm. If it wasn’t for the threatening atmosphere of Arkham, Leo would probably have enjoyed the feeling. Maybe he would even have turned to smile at you, if not for the sound of something being dragged along the ground.
“Well, would you look at that”, a voice sounded in the darkness. A dog-like being dressed in a jester costume and carrying a big mallet, jumped onto the railing at the top of the staircase. “The bat has made some new best friends! So, are you gonna introduce me to your new turtle pals or what?”
“Harley. What have they done to you?”, Batman asked, ever so stoic.
“The ooze”, Donnie spoke up. “They must have injected themselves”.
“Aha”, Harley said with a finger in the air before jumping back from the railing. “There’ll be plenty of time to talk once you find Mister J and our guests. He got a whole thing planned! I don’t wanna ruin it. You know how he gets!” And with those words she turned and left, leaving you and the rest in shivering unease. All expect Batman and Leonardo.
The said turtle stepped forward, ready to follow the mutant, but Batman stopped him. “Wait”, he said, causing Leo to look at him. “Presumably Shredder and Ra’s have mutated all of the inmates of Arkham”.
“Was this their plan?”, Batgirl asked in confusion. “Mutate the villains and unleash them on the city?”
“I have a feeling this is just one part of the puzzle”, Batman said. “Split up. Investigate each wing. (H/N), you and Leonardo come with me. Remember, this whole asylum is essentially a maze. There are hostages to rescue, and on top of that, even before they were mutated, these inmates were the deadliest criminals in all of Gotham”. That was the last the dark knight said before he turned, his cape flowing behind him.
“I was kind of expecting a pep talk”, Donatello said, looking to you, Batgirl and Robin for some sort of confirmation.
“That was the pep talk”, Robin grumbled, slightly irritated over the fact that Batman had chosen you to go with him, and not him.
“Go team”, Batgirl said, two thumbs in the air.
You and Leonardo did just as Batman had told you to, and followed him down the hall. Well, not before you shot Batgirl a smug grin, as she and Donatello decided to go together. But that smug grin soon disappeared as the three of you walked through the halls of Arkham in complete silence. You felt a slight frustration at the way Batman would position himself either between you and the blue clad turtle, or just behind you, never leaving any of you out of sight. You knew very well it was because of Batman’s protective mannerisms towards his family. It was his wish to protect that made him look out for any danger that could harm you. But to Leo it felt different. He couldn’t shake this itching feeling that Batman did not want him to be alone with you in Arkham. Was it because he did not trust that Leo could protect you, or did he not wish his daughter to be alone with the mutant turtle she was starting to show affection? Well, he couldn’t blame the bat. He still hardly knew Leonardo.
The three of you continued down Arkham’s many stairs, until you came to the boiler room. Walking into the middle of the room, Batman suddenly stopped behind you and Leo, his attention turned to the side of the room as he listened.
“What is it?”, Leo asked, noticing the sudden shift in attention.
“Someone’s here”, was all the bat said, making it shiver down your spine.
“Can you please stop saying it like that?”, you asked, rubbing your arms to calm the shiver. “Nothing good happens when you say it like that”.
That was when something flashed above your head, moving swiftly in the shadows. Black feathers fell from above, landing before your feet. Leo watched the movement before flicking his katana slightly out from its saya, using his thumb. That was when whatever that had moved in the shadows landed before you.
“Hello, Batman”, said the being covered in feathers. “I was afraid you wouldn’t show up. Though not as afraid as you’re going to be”.
“Dr. Jonathan Crane”, Batman told Leo.
“Calls himself Scarecrow”, you added.
Leo couldn’t help himself. He turned his head towards you, one brow raised. “Really?”
Scarecrow let out a cry, before flying towards you, causing all three of you to jump out of the way, just before Scarecrow’s claws could skim the floor, just where you had been standing. You stumbled on the ground, having a hard time finding your footing.
“Watch out”, Batman called out from the other side of the room, as he started to cover his face with his cape. ”He has a fear gas that can make you see things that aren’t real”.
Leo looked up, seeing Scarecrow hover before flying directly at your turned back. Batman saw the same thing, calling out your name as he launched forward, all stoic features gone from his face, and now replaced with fear.
“(Y/N), watch out!”
You started in shock at Batman. He never used your real name whenever you were in costume. It was an unspoken rule. When in costume, you were (H/N), just like Bruce was Batman. Just like Damian was Robin, and just like Barbara was Batgirl. You could not think, shocked that he used your name while Leo and the Scarecrow was around. Leonardo however, not thinking further about the name he had just heard, ran and pushed you out of the way, just as the Scarecrow threw a gas that made him choke on his own breath.
Leo fell down on all four, coughing as he tried to breath. He opened his eyes, watching in horror as the boiler room changed around him. He stood and turned, taking in the warping world around him. Until he saw his brothers. The Scarecrow looming over them. Leo yelled, his heart in his throat, telling them to get out of there. Then the Scarecrow opened his wings, sending furth an army of crows, swarming his brothers. Leo watched in fear as the crows poked at his brothers, tearing them apart. Leo could not hear their screams, but he could see it in their eyes. They were hurting. His brothers were hurting. His best friends. His one and everything. The reason he lived and fought to be a leader. They were hurting.
It happened so fast yet it felt like an eternity. The crows formed into a black mass surrounding his brothers. They disappeared, leaving behind three dried bodies. Raph, Donnie and Mikey. His brother dead before his very eyes.
Leo’s breath was erratic. He fell to his knees before clutching Mikey’s dried hands in his. His fear and horror only grew as wind picked up, turning all three of them into dust. Leo yelled, screaming at the top of his lungs before falling back to the ground.
“That’s right”, Scarecrow's voice sounded in his ear. “Everyone is gone, and it’s all your fault”.
“Leo?”
Leonardo’s heart almost stopped at the sound. So weak, fragile, scared.
“Or, almost everyone”, Scarecrow sounded yet again.
Shaking in fear, Leo turned to see you on the ground, shaking in fear. Your legs had given out, your arms working to get you moving as far away as possible.
“(H/N)?” Leo stood, walking towards you, only for you to scream and scrabble further away.
“Stay away!”, you yelled, tears pooling in your eyes, your voice cracking. Leo was confused, his heart breaking a bit as you right tried to get away from him.
“(H/N)?! What’s wrong?!” Leo was growing more and more desperate with each passing second. First his brothers and now you.
“Don’t look at me!”, you started screaming, covering your face trying to hide from him. “Don’t look at me!”
“Tell me what’s wrong, (Y/N)!” Leo was surprised to hear himself use the name Batman has just used.
“You’re eyes!” You were crying. Leo felt a pain in his chest at your words. You were scared of his eyes. You were scared of him. “Please don’t look at me! I beg you! Don’t look at me!”
Desperately he tried to reach for your hand, but you screamed, pushing back trying to get away from him. Leo wanted to cry, he wanted to yell and scream at you. To tell you were hurting him. You were crying and Leo didn’t know what to do. He was paralyzed, frantically trying to get you to look at him. So frantically, that he did not notice the Scarecrow came and pulled you away.
“No!”, Leo yelled, standing to run towards you, only to be surrounded by Scarecrows, taunting him. His brothers were dead because of him. You feared him. It was all his fault. It was all because of him.
“Leonardo”. Leo turned to see a lone Scarecrow with you hiding behind it. Leo’s blood boiled. “Listen to my voice”.
Batman ducked as Leonardo came after him with his katana in hands, fear and anger in his eyes. It was different from the eyes that had looked at you a moment ago. Fear and sadness. They were nothing like the blue eyes that you had found yourself spending so many thoughts on.
“You killed them! You took her!”, Leo yelled, slashing out his katanas at what he saw as the Scarecrow. But Batman continuously dodged the sharp blades, hearing all of your gasps as you watched on helplessly.
“I don’t know what you’re seeing”, Batman said. “But it’s not real”.
“You’ll pay for what you did!”, Leo yelled, slamming his blades against the pipes they passed.
“Your anger won’t help your brothers”, Batman said. “And it won’t save (Y/N)”. Batman jumped and rolled, before kicking Leo in the back, bringing him to the ground. You gasped, ready to jump in, but Batman signed at you to stay out of it. “You have to focus! Fight it!”
Leo sat on the ground, in a trance-like state. His normally beautiful eyes wide, as he held his katana extended out in front of him. Then suddenly he turned, swinging his katana through the air and hitting Scarecrow. The flying mutant fell groaning to the ground, as Leo braced himself against his katana, fighting to regain his breath.
Batman walked up to Leo, pulling a small pink liquid and needle from his utility belt. “The antidote to Crane’s gas”, he said as he injected Leonardo through the shoulder. “It should wear off quickly”. And so it did.
In the blink of an eye, the boiler room turned back to normal. The irrational fear left Leo’s mind, and he could finally breathe normally again. He saw as you came to his side, all though hesitant in your steps. It poked in Leo’s chest yet again. He had indeed scared you, just like the fear gas had made him believe. But now you looked him in the eyes, as if you never had been scared of them. Leo wondered if you ever actually had been scared of them. And with that thought he remembered his reaction. How he had reacted to the fear of you not wanting to see his eyes. He felt embarrassed, ashamed. He had had no control over his actions, with no regards for how it may have affected you. Yes, he had been affected by Crane’s gas, but to Leo, that was no excuse. He had to do better than that.
As if you had been able to read his mind, you placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, your eyes never leaving his beautiful blue ones. The ones that you were just happy to see again. Leo placed a hand over yours, enjoying the feeling for a moment.
Batman watched the two of you for a second, before speaking up, once again ripping you out of whatever thought you had been having. Your hand falling off of Leo’s shoulder, causing him to feel what could only be described as disappointment.
“Let’s move”, Batman said, directing the two of you back towards the door and out of the boiler room.

(10/3) prompt: zombie — 1,220 words (mild sexual content; scare maze shenanigans) @jegulus-microfic
James is honestly beginning to regret every decision that’s led him up to this moment. He knows why he let himself be talked into going to a scare park this year, but he’s having a hard time keeping it in mind the longer he’s there. The thing is, he usually doesn’t scare so easily. His boyfriend loves horror movies and supernatural type shows, they’ve watched plenty of them together.
When he’s living in a moment straight out of one, though? It’s a little different.
The Undead Outbreak walkthrough is fucking killer, he’ll give them that. He’d lost his friends a little ways in, going opposite directions in the maze. Stupidly, James is now left alone, no one to cling onto, bracing himself for whatever jumpscare comes out at him next. The strobe lights and fog machines make it hard to tell what’s a person and what’s a prop, but he’s doing his best.
Rounding a corner, James finds himself at a fork in the walkway. From what he can tell, one way is slightly better lit than the other —meaning that’s probably the better option, probably leads to somewhere he actually wants to be. Still, he hesitates a beat, squinting toward the darker passageway. He thinks he can make out what’s meant to be a door a ways down, blocked off with yellow caution tape that reads ‘do not open’ in bold letters, splattered with fake blood.
More than likely a dead end. There’s got to be a zombie lurking in the shadows down there, waiting for an unsuspecting victim to launch themselves at.
James turns to face the way he’d just come from, debating whether or not it’s wise to backtrack and find more of a crowd to follow. Just so he knows he’s potentially going the right way instead of either of these new ones. He’s not having an easy time figuring it out on his own. Safety in numbers, or whatever, even if none of this is real.
Before he can commit to a decision, however, there’s a hand clasping at the back of his sweatshirt, tugging. He’s not embarrassed to admit that he lets out a pathetically scared noise, trying to squirm away from the firm hold. The snarl of a zombie is uncomfortably close to his ear as he’s towed toward the blocked off door he noticed at the dead end’s walkway.
Logically, James recalls a reminder from earlier in the day that the scare actors aren’t supposed to touch the guests. Unfortunately, the logical part of his brain isn’t firing on all cylinders as he’s being dragged through a horror maze he can barely see clearly in.
He’s shoved back into the wall, a forearm barred across his chest to pin him there. It takes him a moment, maybe two, to adjust to the dimmer flashes of light in this area. Then he recognizes what’s happened; familiarity in the zombie’s dark curls and sharp jaw, even painted with false blood and rot, filmy contacts blocking out grey irises.
“Hi, baby.”
“Oh, fuck you,” James wheezes, thunking his head back against the wall.
Regulus laughs, snapping his teeth playfully at him. “Told you I’d find you.”
“Almost gave me a bloody heart attack, you dick.”
James tosses his boyfriend’s arm away from his chest, but makes a grab at the collar of Regulus’ tattered costume shirt instead. Before he can pull him in fully, he pauses, hazel eyes flickering over the gash at Regulus’ hairline, the couple zombie bites along his neck. James brushes his thumb along the edge of the prosthetic piece at the juncture of Regulus’ neck and shoulder, nose wrinkling faintly.
“These look so real,” He comments.
“Kind of the point,” Regulus chuckles. “I can give you one if you want.”
James snorts, eyes rolling good-naturedly now that his racing heart has started to slow back down. “Oh yeah?”
“Mhm.” Regulus leans forward to close the few inches between them, catching James’ lower lip between his teeth and pulling at it.
When it snaps back into place, James breathes in shallowly, mutters, “Baby, you’re at work.”
“I’m bored. Hardly anyone’s come down this way.” Regulus curls both hands at his hips, shifts to slot one leg between both of James’ thighs, pressing until James lets out a soft groan. Nosing along the line of his jaw, Regulus hums. “Best case even if they do, they’ll just think you work here, too, and that I’m eating you.”
“Interesting choice of words,” James exhales, half a laugh.
“That might be a little more obvious, I’m afraid,” Regulus mutters into the side of his neck. He kisses gently along the soft skin for a moment, James’ head lolling to the side to give him more room.
“Have to wait until we’re home, then.”
“Mm, can do this in the meantime, though.”
Without further preamble, he bites down, digs his teeth in in a way that toes the line between pain and pleasure. James gasps when Regulus sucks harshly at the bitten skin, inevitably leaving a mark behind. The grip at his hips tightens, guiding James to rock forward against the thigh pressed to the growing bulge in the front of his trousers. Regulus drags his lips an inch downward, sucks another mark into tan skin just below the first. James rolls his hips forward on instinct, digging his fingers in on either side of Regulus’ ribs.
“Reg—” James cuts off on a breathless moan when Regulus slips a hand into his back pocket, palming at his ass and pushing him forward still. “Baby, I’ve still got to walk out of here.”
“Plenty of time to walk off the hardon,” Regulus mumbles against his skin.
James hisses, hips jerking forward, when Regulus sinks his teeth in again, a third mark sucked in a straight line down the side of James’ neck. One of his hands lifts, sinking his fingers into familiar dark curls at the back of Regulus’ head and tugging slightly.
“Not my dick still being hard that I’m worried about,” James manages, moaning again after the fact.
Regulus hums lowly then licks a broad stripe up the trail of bruises he’s left behind, grazes his teeth at James’ earlobe. James shudders, taking in an equally shaking breath between parted lips.
“Straight down that way, two lefts, then a right,” Regulus murmurs in his ear.
James blinks dazedly up at the flash of strobe light above them. “What?”
Abruptly, Regulus cuts all contact with him, hands falling and a large step taken backward. He inclines his head the opposite direction from the current dead end when James frowns at him in question.
“The way out.”
James lets out a loud laugh, head shaking. “You’re actually the fucking worst, you know that?”
“Oh, I know, baby,” Regulus coos tauntingly, slick and reddened lips curled in a smirk.
The fake blood around his mouth is smeared even more than it already was, meaning there’s some mingling with the fresh bruises. James really might look like he was mauled by a zombie, actually. He shifts on unsteady legs, adjusting his current predicament in his trousers discreetly. Regulus’ lips twitch knowingly anyway.
James steps forward, catches Regulus’ chin between his thumb and forefinger. “I’ll see you at home.”
Regulus snaps his teeth playfully at him once again. “Can’t wait.”

For fall themed requests, I would love love love something in a corn maze with Eddie?! Like maybe he’s just teasing you and scaring you all the time Bc he knows you hates/loves it. Teasing and giggly Eddie is the way to my heart 🥺🥺🥺
thank you for requesting! | 0.7k words, reader
The fresh smell of fall and the breeze that comes with it fills your nostrils as you approach the corn maze with Eddie. He made it seem like you had to drag him there, even though you know he’s just as much of a sucker for the classic fall activities as you are.
Your joint hands swing between you as you walk up to the entrance, Eddie paying before you can and kissing away the pout on your face when you realize he did.
Not many people expected Eddie Munson to be the type to go on cute, cliche dates like this. Then again, not many people knew him the way you did.
As you entered the maze, he smiled that grin of his and said, “should we make this a race?”
You know he was only joking, but you whined anyways, “no! You can't leave me all alone in here, Eds.”
”Yeah I know,” he let go of your hand only to sling his arm over your shoulders, pulling you into him and pressing a kiss to your head, “my baby’s a scaredy-cat.”
When you go to protest, he fixes you with a look that says, ‘really?’ You huff, briefly hug his waist under his jacket, and let him lead you further into the maze.
Eddie’s both a great and horrible partner for this activity, you find. He’s sweet in the way he holds your hand the whole way, how he lets you squeeze it when you’re convinced the rustling seems to be caused by something other than the wind. He’s awful though, because he scares you every single chance he gets.
He’ll do the classic ‘what’s over there,’ and then yell ‘boo,’ into your ear while you’re distracted. He uses his free arm to pinch your side and then act like he has no idea where it came from. You don’t know what’s worse, the way you fall for it every time or the proud grin that overtakes his pretty face when he’s successful.
Eddie loves scaring you. Maybe it’s because he’s Eddie and that’s just who he is, or, maybe it’s because you cling tighter to him when he does, push yourself closer. He thinks that it’s nice to be trusted to protect you from the non-existent dangers of the corn maze.
His best scare comes when you’ve found the scarecrow set up in the maze, standing tall and beat up from the Hawkins weather. Faded clothes from the constant sunlight and its arms slightly lopsided.
He lets go of your hand to point at something, something that isn’t even there.
“Eddie! I’m not falling for that again,” you turn to look at him but he’s gone.
Your heart beats quicker, your stomach dropping like it does on a rollercoaster. You try to walk in the direction you came from to find him, but you have no luck. Damn this boy and his love of scaring people.
“Eds! You got me! You can come out now!”
He doesn't respond, which spooks you even more.
Eddie, however, is giggling to himself from behind the rows of corn, peeking through the gaps to see you. You’re cute, and he almost feels bad for what he’s about to do. Almost.
Before you can process the loud movement in the field, strong arms wrap around your waist from behind, lifting you off the ground and causing you to scream. You quiet down when you get a glimpse of the hands holding you.
The rings adorning the fingers and the tattoos that peek out of his sleeve.
“Damn it, Eddie,” you huff as he puts you down, spinning you with his hands on your waist so you’re facing him. “You scared the shit out of me.”
“Sorry, sweets,” his smile tells you he’s not sorry at all. “Got you good, though.”
You lean forward, letting your forehead fall against his chest to hide your slight embarrassment from him. You know there’s nothing to really be shy about—Eddie’s never done anything to make you feel bad—but you wished you weren’t so gullible.
“You’re a meanie, Eds.”
“Hey,” he drags out the word. “I’m done now, promise.”
He pushes you back by your shoulders so you’re standing straight again, looking at him. He holds out his pinky.
You take it with yours, and you know he takes his pinky promises seriously.
“A kiss to seal the deal?”
“Dunno if you deserve one, Eds.”
“Awe c’mon! I’ll make it up to you,” he holds your chin between his fingers. “We’ll get some apple cider and then go home and snuggle with a scary movie marathon, how about?”
It’s hard not to give in when the idea sounds so good. You let him kiss you, of course.

Chapter 7: ζ (Pt. 1)
Pairing: dottore x angel!reader
Summary: You are a Heavenly Messenger from Celestia that’s been captured by a mysterious Doctor
CW: violence, body horror
Word count: 2.8k
This place is a maze.
This is just one of the hundreds of thoughts that are racing through your mind as you slow to a halt, looking down the corridor you’re on. Multiple doors stand on each side and as you wander through the hallway, you quickly realize none of them are what you’re looking for.
You need to find stairs. You know you are multiple stories above the ground-- you’ve been able to deduce that much. You look at the wall facing you. There’s a large window. You consider smashing the barless window and jumping out of it. It would be unwise. Your clipped feathers, albeit a bit longer, are not fully functional yet. You’d probably hover a bit before plummeting to the ground and you'd rather not be dragged back screaming with broken legs.
Tumblr media
A small voice in your head worries that you won’t be able to withstand the Snezhnayan winter once outside. Where will you even go? What will you-- all alone in this unknown mortal realm-- do with your freedom? You try to suppress these thoughts. You could worry about that after you’ve managed to escape.
You know that the Doctor will soon realize you are missing. You can only hope that by the time he does, you have already found an exit and escaped into the snowy wilderness. You can feel your time running out. Your head pounds with anxious tension as your mind teeters on an edge of panic as sharp as the knife you held in your sweaty palms. You enter a small room, peering warily inside the darkness. It’s a storage room filled with boxes of who knows what. You step inside gingerly. There is nothing here of use or value so you turn to leave, but as you do, your blood runs ice cold.
“Where has my darling gone?”
Too late.
He knows.
The hairs on the back of your neck rise as you hear Dottore’s boots echo across the hallway. If you run out of this room, you’ll surely be caught, but if you simply stand here you’re as good as dead. You look around wildly for a place to hide and spot a small landing atop the shelves that you could try to sneak on. You instinctively flap your wings, but remember they’re clipped and hold back a small noise of panicked frustration. In your desperation, you jump, hovering a bit and clawing desperately at the shelf, somehow managing to climb atop without too much noise as you lower yourself against the metal. The boxes around you further conceal your figure in the darkness. You can hear him coming closer. Your heart thumps louder with each footstep. You silently beg for it to be still-- as if he would hear its rapid beating and follow it to you.
“Ah ha! It seems my feathered friend wants to play hide and seek!”
The only reply to Dottore words is silence. You dare not make a noise.
“You can't run forever, little one! I'm going to find you. You're only temporarily prolonging the inevitable. Though perhaps if you come out now, I won’t punish you as harshly.”
Your hands clasp together around your knife, praying that he will pass. At first, you think he will, but Dottore soon pokes his head into the storage room before sauntering in. He’s hunched, his hands nestled in the pockets of his lab coat, keenly observing the room. The man is silent and confident, yet extremely deadly, like a wolf on the hunt. The small rays of light that cast his shadow over the room make the Doctor much more menacing. From your hiding spot, you catch a glimpse of the small smile etched on his face. It’s unlike the calm, collected, and condescending ones he often gives you or even the excited, fanatical ones that prevailed when he cut someone open. No, this smile was one of pure madness. Yet, in this deranged state, you can see that the Doctor was even more cunning, calculating, and enthralled than ever. Fear freezes your veins as you realize that despite having been here for quite some time, you’ve never seen who Dottore really is.
This is the Doctor’s true nature.
Part of you wants to run to him, to beg for forgiveness, to quit this silly chase.  The part of you that regrets leaving knows you will not escape unscathed. On the other hand, the part of you that grips your knife close to your chest with bated breath is willing to claw your way out of this hellhole with every fiber in your being. You just needed to leave-- harm was simply a side effect to this game you play with the Doctor. You have been through enough of it to withstand one final showdown with your captive. You are willing to feel pain if it means freedom.
You choose to follow this side of you.
Suddenly, a rustling can be heard under you. You feel terror wash over you.
Splat.
A small squeak quickly silenced. A needlelike blade pins the small mouse to a box on the bottom shelf by its impaled neck. Dottore strides over to it, picking up his weapon stabbed through the limp animal. He holds it up, inspecting it.
If it weren’t for the boxes, you would be making direct eye contact with him.
Dottore clicks his tongue in annoyance, dangling his blade and letting the small animal slide off its metal edge, falling to the ground with a dull thud. He turns. You hear him whistling as he leaves, twirling the small blade in his hand. The whistling becomes fainter as Dottore walks down the hallway, before it vanishes altogether.
You take a shaky breath, trembling as you make your way down from the shelves.
As soon as your feet touch the ground, you run.
The clock ticks once more. Every second you spend lost in these hallways is one more closer to your doom.
Tick.
Tock.
Left. Right. East. West. You didn’t know where you were going, but you still desperately threw open doors and turned corners trying to find your breakout.
And you finally do. You open a steel door that reveals a winding staircase. You feel the relief wash over you, fueling you with just a bit more adrenaline to make a break for it. You spread your wings and glide down the stairs, running as fast as you can. Though you're sloppy and lopsided, you can still use your wings to give you a small boost in speed.
You can’t stop now though.
You throw yourself out the door at the end of the stairs. Another hallway, but your eyes glint at the large door in the end. You realize this is what you're looking for. The light at the end of the tunnel. Beyond this door is freedom.
"Got you."
Just as you're about to reach liberation, a large figure cuts you off.  You instantly brandish your weapon, ready to cut Dottore down where he stood. A familiar thought passes through your mind.
It's me or him.
Me or him.
You grip the blade aiming for his jugular. Dottore moves out of the way just in time, grabbing your arm and seamlessly pinning it behind you as he painfully pushes you to the floor. His knee digs into you as he twists your arm until you drop the blade.
Dottore picks it up, humming with disappointment.
"Wow, not even a sliver of hesitation to kill me? Tut, tut. How disappointing. With my own tools too. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you,” He roars with laughter. “You were close too. You must feel awful. Hahaha!”
Your eyes peer at the door mere inches away from your face. How could you be so close, yet so far from freedom?
Dottore roughly pulls you by your hair, lifting your head up. You've never seen him this unhinged. You knew the Doctor was deranged, yet Dottore never seemed more so than in this moment. Messy hair spills over his lopsided mask as he breathes heavily against your neck. He's absolutely manic simply by the thrill of this chase.
You struggle wildly, yelling and screaming.
“Let go of me!”
Dottore breaks out in another fit of laughter.
"Still trying to leave? You're so damn stubborn! Get a clue, will you?"
He slams your head into the ground. Your vision explodes with stars. You cough, tasting the blood that slowly seeps in your mouth. Dottore pulls a syringe from his pocket, pushing the needle through a small vial and watching as it fills with a clear liquid. You let out a noise of distress, flapping your wings fiercely as you use the rest of your strength trying to escape from the clutches of the Doctor. He only smiles at you using one hand to pin you down by the scruff and the other to ready the syringe at the side of your neck.
“Don’t worry. When you wake up, you’ll be back where you’re supposed to be. Then we shall discuss the consequences of your actions.”
Please no…
I don’t want to go back.
As Dottore injects the sedative into your neck, he leans closer uttering a sentence that completely shatters your heart.
"And just so you know, I left that door unlocked on purpose."
You were never meant to escape. You never had a chance.
You have been in the palm of the Doctor’s hand this whole time.
You look at Dottore. The realization and despair written across your face as you slowly slip into an unwilling unconsciousness.
"Sweet dreams, my darling."
Tumblr media
You groan softly, trying to rub your face only to find you’re once again strapped on the operation table. You turn towards Dottore, who looks at you crossed arms.
It took you exactly ten hours to wake.
“Look who's finally awake,” Dottore states, leaning over you.  “You failed my test. I must say, I am a bit disappointed.”
You look back at him, glaring.
“You tricked me.”
“Oh, I wouldn't call it a trick, little one,” Dottore remarks. “More like an opportunity to see just how far you've come under my care. And from what I can see, there's still quite a bit of work to be done. And even if it was a trick, you should be used to that by now. Did the gods purposely make you this naive or are you simply stupid?”
“Your care?” You let out a rueful laugh before narrowing your eyes. “You couldn't have possibly expected me to stay here. After everything…”
“Oh, but I did expect it.” Dottore retorted. “The least I expected from you was not to run away. After all, I treated you very well compared to my other test subjects. I'm a very patient and generous man. Perhaps too much so.”
That was not a lie. Dottore really didn’t expect you to be so eager to run from him. He-- for what it was worth-- truly did treat you better than his other subjects, albeit for his own personal gain. But you didn’t know that, so you should’ve been grateful. Surprisingly, Dottore feels a sliver of sincere anger towards you for betraying his trust. It ‘s odd--he did not think he would care so much about the outcome of such a minute test.
“Tch. That is your fault for assuming such things. I would never help you willingly.”
Dottore laughs.
“You don't have to be willing, you just simply have to obey,” He lightly taps your forehead. “But what's done is done and now it's time to pay the consequences. After all, betraying my trust is not something I take lightly… And just when I was starting to grow fond of you.”
The last part drips with sarcasm.
Dottore pulls out your left wing, examining it as he did a few weeks ago.
“Hmmm... I clipped your feathers thinking you wouldn't be able to fly so competently. Even if it is more like gliding at this stage, it simply won’t do if you’re going to be so unruly. I suppose I was incorrect. That's alright. One can't expect to be correct all the time, even a genius like myself. As much as my ego would enjoy it, it would be quite boring if that were the case. Ultimately, science is all about the exhilaration of discovery.”
Dottore snaps his fingers, his eyes lighting up. “Aha! And I know exactly what I'd like to discover right now.”
He walks over towards a drawer, rummaging through its contents.
It’s in here somewhere…
“You've been a good subject thus far. I almost feel guilty doing this. I’m saddened you ruined the balance of our relationship. Though it's hard to sympathize with a traitor.”
“You can’t be a traitor when there was never loyalty to begin with.” You shot back, your words lined with malice.
Dottore looks back at you, his hand over his chest, feigning hurt.
“How cruel! For an angel, you can be quite hurtful. That's perfectly fine though. Mouth off all you want-- it won’t change your outcome.”
Such brazen words. Dottore has to admit you’re brave for the way you so promptly and insistently spit such cutting responses back at him. Perhaps you really were dumb. Bravery was simply a nicer word for stupid, after all.
There it is!
Dottore returns to you, gesturing to the weapon in his hand.
“It is admittedly a bit crude of a tool,” He explains, “But it is more for my ease and comfort in this little experiment.”
“What experiment?”
His lips curl into an evil smirk.
“Well, a human arm takes roughly 73 newtons of force for a simple fracture. The bones in your wing probably take less because of the density disparity between the two. I suppose we’ll have to simply test it.”
Dottore stretches out your left wing once more. Which bone should he break? He’d have to think about it. Your eyes widen in horror as you realize what he’s about to do. He can see the tears in your eyes already forming.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please don’t do this.”
You're once again reduced to begging. Dottore smiles even wider. This was the you that he enjoyed. Obedient and meek-- cowering and begging at his feet like the insignificant animal you were.
Why did you have to be such a little rebel?
“Oh my dear, you should have thought about that before you tried to run away,” Dottore states. He traces the length of the hard bone closest to your shoulder. Yes, this one will be satisfactory. “This is the humerus. Similar to the one in your upper arm. The humerus is quite pivotal for flying since it receives exertion from both your flight muscles and the forces of aerodynamics.”
Dottore raises the mallet, bringing it down on your wing.
Crack.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
The sound of your bone snapping fills the room. Instantly, you let out a high-pitched scream. You jerk against your restraints violently, desperately trying to escape and writhe against the table as anguish washes over you. Your screams are unlike any noise he’s ever heard from you, absolutely visceral and blood-curdling.
It’s music to his ears.
“...That did it. Now onto the next one,” Dottore observes, satisfied. He drops your left wing, which falls unnaturally limp over the edge of the table, and crosses over, pulling your right wing out. You’re sobbing and crying hysterically, begging for him to stop. To not break both of your wings. To leave at least one.
That wouldn’t make sense. What’s the use of only doing half an experiment?
“Now watch closely while I perform test B…” Dottore begins. “These top bones here are the radius and ulna. They’re equivalent to the ones in your wrist and lower arm and allow you to use secondary flight feathers and rotate your wing. They’re quite close together so you’ll have to forgive me since I’m going to break both of them.”
“Please, Dottore. I promise I won’t run. I promise I’ll stay. I’ll do everything you say. Please-”
Your pleas are cut off by another cracking noise followed by another scream ripping from your throat. Dottore watches your agony for a while in morbid curiosity and content. He reaches for his clipboard, writing some details of this endeavor on it. He’ll write a full report later. Right now, he undoes your restraints and gently lifts you from the table, pressing you against his chest as you sob and sob and sob. Dottore laughs softly as your arms wrap around his neck and he pats your back, making sure to brush a hand over one of your broken wings.
“I think we both learned a few things today, hm?” Dottore muses. “Now let’s get you back to your room.”
You only answer with another wretched, choked cry. Your wings fall flaccidly against your back. You certainly wouldn’t be using those anytime soon. Dottore smiles. He's surprised you haven't passed out yet from the sheer pain. As much as he insulted you, you were certainly stronger than you looked. As he carries you back to your room, he whispers in your ear.
“We still have a long way to go, my little birdie.”
