so i have a few questions
1)i cannot understand how you ship k*ramel. their relationship was FILLED with toxicity. from mon-el failing over and over again to listen to what kara had to say to him basically telling her to give up being kara danvers. convincing her that "being supergirl and having you is enough” was absolutely horrible. karamel had their moments but overall it was toxic. then in s3 mon el was married and the whole point of season 3 was allowing them to move on. accepting the toxicity from s2 and pushing past that romanticized time. mon el was a better person by 3b but he was still married. even if mon el and imra did break up in the finale there’s no future for karamel. even during 5x13 kara went to ask on advice about lena. and when winn came to visit from the future not a word about him. she’s moved on and it just wouldn’t make sense for kara to end up with him.
2) how can you hate lena so so so much?? it’s been said over and over again that all she’s ever wanted to do is good. though she’s designed to be this morally grey character. she has FLAWS but that’s what makes her so good. she’s a victim of abuse and you can see her struggle with that especially in seasons 4 and 5. in 5 she definitely goes down a questionable path but how can you expect her not too? after being emotionally abused by her brother, betrayed by her family, andrea (this did happen before kara), and then eve. finding out that kara and EVERYONE she loves has betrayed her as well. I mean how could you not go mad?? and even when she “went mad” she was trying to rid humanity of PAIN. something she later realized was a necessary part of life. her hurt blinded her from reality and lex’s manipulation pushed her down further. she’s been hurt and broken so many times and while that’s not an excuse for what she’s done you have no sympathy for her and that I find appalling. lena has realized what she’s done is wrong, that she’s made mistakes, what she did to kara, and she will have to live with that isn’t that punishment enough? she’s apologized and is trying to make up for everything she’s done by saving the world (again). your unnecessary hate towards her infuriates me. cant you take a step back and see the whole picture?
3) why DONT you ship supercorp or accept the queerbaiting? (watch this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C2w2GBXd_Pg) They are the core relationship of the show while the danvers sisters are the heart. they’ve gone through so so much together and practically dated in early season 2. they love each other it’s just oh so apparent. i like to believe one of the reasons lena reacted so strongly in s5 is because she was in love with kara and she couldn’t handle the person she was in love with lying to her. and kara flew around the world to get lena’s favorite food!! if that’s not romantic idk what is. I feel like you’ve developed such a clouded view of supercorp that you need to take a step back and understand what lena is the love of kara’s life.
wow what a long message. im not here to hate. im here to inform & undertand. i get it. karamel had their moments and even MY perception of them might be a little cloudy. im not going to hate you for liking them. hell I even shipped them for a little! my brother thinks 3b mon el and kara would’ve been perfect but he understands that supercorp is just where the show is leading and he wants them to be endgame. but what I will hate is your hate. what’s the point of all this? this thread, this account is going to do NOTHING. so why bother? I debated sending this and I hope I’m not too harsh at times but I really wanna see what you say. I hope you can open your eyes to lena and supercorp. maybe even become a supercorp shipper yourself!
- thanks and supercorp endgame 💙❤️
First of all, if you want to discuss ships in the future send this type of anons to facepalming-since-chernobyl, this blog is not for this, but for gathering receipts.
1.I just ship it, I don’t get why you have to understand it. It’s shipping. But if you insist:
No, it was not filled with toxicity. Count me when he failed to listen to her when they were in a relationship. Secondly, he is not a dog, he has his brain, he is his own person. People don’t always do what others asked them to do. It’s not slavery.
He has NEVER said to her to give up being Kara Danvers. How did he exactly convince her? How can you read the scene that he convinced her that being supergirl and having him is erasing Kara Danvers? In this scene he supports anything SHE WANTS to do. Also, Kara Danvers doesn’t equal Kara being a reporter in CatCo. On that moment she had her blog. She change people’s live with it like a real reporter. She took the risk and met consequences of her actions aka being fired by Snapper. Also, remind me who told her to create a blog? With your logic Lena was erasing Kara Danvers too.
Friendly reminder that he was forced to the marriage to keep peace. Also, friendly reminder Imra and the Legion out him in this situation without telling him about her plans. She and Brainiac put him there, knowing exactly how much he loved Kara and how much she meant to him. Imra knew that, that’s why she asked him to stay and solve his feelings. She said if he had come back, she would have known he had no doubts. But he wanted to stay, that’s why they broke up. He came back because once again he sacrificed himself for the greater good, like a real hero. Maybe watch the Argo eps because they clearly show that no, it was no about moving on.
It was not accepting about so called toxicity. First of all, she already forgave him that he lied. Secondly, all of she was screaming in that scene, when she was infected with M’rynn’s powers, happened before they got together and it was already approached in the musical ep. Aka, this scene had no point.
There is no future for karamel because you say so?
Kara went to asked him, because she truly believed and trusted him and his judgment. And yes, she asked about Lena and what did he said? That Kara deserved the same compassion she gives others, something Lena never gave her. And sorry, I know all scs scream the 100 ep was about sc, but it was about Kara fully realizing she is not responsible for Lena’s horrible choices. That’s it. And friendly reminder she called her a villain in the last scene. Also, the ep showed than no matter what, Lena always ends screwing something, because she has too big ego, always knows better, doesn’t stand criticism and doesn’t trust anyone.
It doesn’t make sense for you. Suit yourself.
2.Her fans made me hate her :) Thanks to them and how they excuse her every horrible action, how they treat her as a victim, while she abuse everyone etc. I started to watch her more carefully. And well, she is a horrible, white, privileged capitalist, who plays god, judge, jury, has mommy issues and acts like typical Luthor while crying she is not one, while still using Luthors money and resources.
Yeah, many people want to make good and end doing evil things. Common people pay for their sins, she has never. Since allowing hostile Daxamite army to invade the Earth (also, her portal affected the other aliens who destroyed the NC), producing a device that could recofnize aliens without their consent (and it was used by Children of Liberty,)producing and lying about Kryptonite, trying to make people superpowered without any supervision, killing Adam during illegal experiment, supporting openly alienphobic president and in a way Agent Liberty, killing Lex and then blaming Kara and finally manipulating Kara for months, lying, gaslighting, yelling, making her steal Lex journal, trying to lobotomize her and tortured with kryptonite, hurting every way possible, physically and mentally. Working with mass murderer, enslaving 3 people (kidnapping Eve, without her consent putting AI into her mind, basically RAPING her brain and making her a puppet in her own body; enslaving end experimenting on Malefic and Russel – threatening to kill him to steal Andrea’s necklace) – none of it are flaws. It was horrible abuse and violating every human right and the fact some people excuse it is disgusting.
First of all, being victim of abuse doesn’t give you the rights to HURT other people. The fact I have to explain pains me. Secondly, what abuse exactly? Lillian didn’t love her? Lex kidnapped her? Said he was going to kill her? You know what? Winn HAD HORRIBLE past and he didn’t turn into a murderer. Mon-El was abused by his mother and never tortured Kara with Kryptonite. J’onn killed a lot of white martians but last time I checked he doesn’t feel good about it. Also, never said the things he has done were GOOD. See a difference?
Yeah, and all of it, still doesn’t give her the rights to torture people. Also, friendly reminder she lied to Supergirl about Kryptonite in s3, much before the whole drama. Remember how she destroyed the life of a girl that stole boyfriend in middle school? It clearly shows she always had THAT in her. Plus, sorry not sorry, if she wanted different life, outside her family she could have easily done that. She was in Star City, with Jack, doing her researches, making her career. And she threw it all away, because she WANTED to be a Luthor.
Plus, sorry not sorry, if you feel betrayed and hurt because your friend didn’t tell you something she didn’t OWE you, you go to therapy, not trying to lobotomize entire planet.
Mate, she wanted to lobotomizer entire humanity, without ANYONE’S consent, because SHE, one single Lena, felt hurt. This is playing a GOD. Nothing explains it.
Planning a cold ass revenge for months is not being blinded by feelings.
Once again, even if could argue about how many times she was broken, most of that was a white privileged life she chose herself but whatever, it still doesn’t excuse her. All of she has done should meet consequences. Paying for shit you have done, accepting it, fully realizing what you have done is a part of redemption. Still in s5 she didn’t even apologize to Kara. Because she still didn’t understand what she has done and doesn’t feel sorry about it.
Feel appalled as much as you want, because I’m not going to feel sorry for a white, privileged woman who has never paid for her actions and is basically a living avatar of the worst Karen you can imagine.
She realized Lex was using her horrible experiments (remember? She experimented on puppies too) to his own agenda, that’s why she went to Kara. That’s not grasping a thing. Mhm, if you call that an apology then suit yourself. She is not saving the world, she is helping once again other people fixing the shit she created.
Feel infuriated as much as you want, because I don’t care? Especially when it comes from a person who tells others to take a step back while being totally narrow minded about Mon-El and karamel.
3.Because actors, prodcuers, writers call SC a female friendship. Mel did that in her last interview. See whatever you want but maybe stop forcing people to ship a horribly abusive ship.
Well… no. Kara is the heart and soul of the Supergirl. Alex is her most important relationship. Lena is an important friend, who doesn’t deserve it yet, but we all know Kara is the Paragon of Hope so of course she is going to forgive her.
I know you people think sc dated because they breathed in one room, but in s2 Kara dated, had sex, kissed, cuddled and enjoyed her time with Mon-El.
Yeah, they love each other as friends. It was said more than once.
That’s your delusion, you are free to do it.
Kara done that to Alex too, so you are saying she is romantically in love with her sister or something? If bringing people food is romantic and damn, most of the people I know loves me, god.
No, lena is not Kara’s love of her life.
Cool, you are not going to hate me because I ship karamel, I’m touched.
Sorry that you are going to be super disappointed in the end of the show I guess.
You will hate my hate – what’s the point of it?
Once again, because I don’t think you understand the point of this blog or read the description – it’s gathering receipts of assholes who cross tag and hate on the actors. Maybe go and search #gross hate or #cast hate on this blog so you can see how amazing your fandom is. Have fun.
I would rather eat my own shit than starting shipping the victim of abuse with her abuser.
Thanks and no :)

I’m relatively new to the fandom and I’m a burgeoning karamel shipper. Could o trouble you to clear up what I’ve been hearing about Mon being w liar? Please and thank you
He said when they met that he was a guard, not a Daxamite prince, so yeah he lied about it but:
-last thing he remembered was his guard killing an emissary from House of El to steal his pod and save Mon and the first thing he saw when he woke up was a person from the House of El aka his enemy, plus Krypton and Daxam were still on a war that time
-so when it was released form his cell, he created that story about his prince saving his ass, to protect himself and I can’t blame him, he really didn’t know Kara and superfriends at that moment plus Kara was well, super biased about the prince
-and later he just continued it, because as Alex said - he wanted a bews start with a clean plate, not being the prince, just a common guy and it kicked his ass when his parents came
-he took a risk, he explained all of it to Kara and was honest about it and paid for it - Kara broke up with him, but then later understood his reasons and forgave him
That’s the story. So yeah, he lied, acknowledged what he has done, apologized and he paid for it. Scs love to overblow it and throw shit at him for that, because KaRA YeLLeD AT hiM iN s3 aND CAllEd HiM a LIaR, but we can all agree that scene was dumb, contradicted what happened in s2 and she was affecetd by M’rynn’s powers.
Also, compare it to what Lena did - she lied for months, manipulated and used Kara and then tortured her in the Fortress to steal Myriad and lobotimize people - and she still thinks she had rights to do it and is not sorry about it, so ya’know, the hypocrites can shut the fuck up :)

Romanticizing Karamel. One More Time for Those in the Back
Seriously. It’s Not Rocket Science.
I hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but--
Oh, who am I kidding? I live to burst bubbles! Like, do you remember grabbing the bubble wands and maybe some of those cool bubble blowing pipes and begging your mom or dad to blow some bubbles so you could run around the yard with your friends, trying to beat everyone else to pop the biggest bubbles, laughing hysterically when they burst and everyone close enough would get splattered with the slimy residue, and...
*ahem*
But I digress.
About the Psychic Whammy. AGAIN.
For those who STILL haven’t figured it out, when Kara told Mon-El that deep down she knew their relationship hadn't been perfect, here's what Kara was NOT saying. She was not saying M’rynn’s psychic whammy made her suddenly realize their love wasn’t actually real or sweet or healthy. It made her realize it was not perfect. And she needed to remember that so she could deal with the pain and, yes, anger of losing him.
How do I know this? Well, mostly... common sense. I mean, I watched season 2. Karamel was definitely not a perfect relationship. Kara and Mon-El had their share of problems to work through just like, you know, every other relationship ever. And they did work through them.
But even more importantly, we already knew that Kara had been romanticizing their relationship when he was gone.
“How?” you might ask. “How would we know that?”
Well I’m glad you asked!
Tumblr media
Because the opening scene in the Supergirl S3 premiere is literally the visual embodiment of Kara “romanticizing” her relationship with Mon-El.
Tumblr media
Because this? Right here? This is the epitome of a romanticized relationship, y’all.
Tumblr media
Kara was so busy missing Mon-El, she literally DREAMED about their relationship. The entire 7 months he was gone. In her dreams (and daydreams) she created this idyllic, pure setting where she and Mon-El were together, and in love, and everything-- everything!-- was perfect.
Even her mother was there.
So, for those paying attention, we already knew that when he was gone Kara romanticized their relationship. And we knew she was having a hard time getting past that dream/daydream when Mon-El came back with a wife, even though she thought she had dealt with all of her feelings about them.
And it was killing her.
Letting Go
Tumblr media
So yeah, Kara felt relieved after the psychic wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. A big weight off her shoulders. She told Mon-El she was grateful it happened, but she was so sorry she hurt him. Because that is the kind of woman she is. She never wanted to cause Mon-El pain.
And Mon-El?
Tumblr media
He just stood there and took Kara’s stream of abuse and accepted it and told her he understood because that is the kind of man he is. A good man. He knew she needed to let it all go, even if it wasn’t fair to him, even if it broke his heart.
Tumblr media
And he accepted her apology, offering his own in return.
So sorry not sorry about bursting your bubble. But the psychic whammy scene was never about Kara “dragging” Mon-El. And it certainly wasn’t about Kara finally calling him out for things he did in the past, things that happened before they were together, when he was brand new to Earth, things she’d long since forgiven.
Because what we got was Kara finally letting go of the perfect dream she had of “them.” So she could move on.
And since they are the best of friends and partners in every other scene they share throughout the rest of season 3, I think it’s pretty safe to say Kara had nothing but love, admiration, and respect for Mon-El.
Random Related Thoughts about the Psychic Whammy
The more I think about it, the more I realize that from a writer’s standpoint, the showrunners did do a pretty damn good job of making a loud and abusive fandom think they actually got a canon scene with Kara finally telling off Mon-El for being an abusive jackass and saying she never loved him, when in actuality, they didn’t. Not even a little bit. What we got was Kara unleashing every bad thought she’d ever had about Mon-El. And it wasn't news to anyone.
Tumblr media
Because A) Mon-El is fully aware he used to be a lying jackass, and she never had a problem saying that to his face (or anyone else’s).
Tumblr media
And 2) at the end of the day, Kara’s brain was altered.
There is nothing Kara said that prevented her from falling in love with Mon-El in the first place, or that prevented her from still loving him. Just like there was nothing she said to Alex while poisoned with Red Kryptonite that ever prevented her from loving her sister unconditionally. And she said some VERY hurtful stuff.
She made Alex cry.
Y’all? Kara broke Alex’s arm and was ready to KILL her, which forced J’onn to out himself as the Martian Manhunter so he could stop her.
Tumblr media
She also threw Cat Grant off a building, so...
So yeah. Brain altering psychic whammies are not truth serum. Both times the worst parts of Kara-- the angriest, the meanest, the most resentful, the ones we all have deep, deep down-- rose to the surface. And she couldn’t stop them from coming out.
And I can’t stress this part enough: For those of you who laugh and praise Kara-- SUPERGIRL-- for physically and verbally abusing a man she actually loves and would never purposefully hurt? Well, that tells so much more about the kind of person you are than it does the kind of man you are always claiming Mon-El is.

I miss the weekly villains of season one. I really liked the goofy, less serious aspect of it. This season especially feels like the writers are trying to make us care about way too many storylines and all the things that I loved about the show are getting lost. I can’t even tell you what Kara Danvers main storyline this season is.
When in doubt about Supergirl’s theme, the default is family. I mean, yes usually each season has a more variable theme that’s translated across all the different characters, but in a broad general sense? Family.
Season 1 - Battling Astra & Non, learning the truth about her parents’ failures
Season 2 - Lena vs her Luthor name, Kara and Alex finding new balance, Mon-el and his parents
Season 3 - Alex and kids, Sam and Ruby, Kara and Alura on Argo, J’onn and M’rynn
Season 4 - Kara and Alex redefining their sisterhood, J’onn struggling to fulfill his last promise to his father, Lena vs Lex
The writers overextending themselves and the audiences by trying to sell too many BIG storylines is nothing new. But at least we are finally getting a BIG storyline we can get fully invested in-- “Keeping up with the Luthors.”
Plus I’m sensing an end to the Liberty arc, so thank rao for that.

Hi! Sorry, I keep forgetting to tell you that I binge watched the rest of season three about a week ago lol. I’m with J’onn’s dad on hot chocolate over coffee. And I liked the parallels in that one episode of him developing Martian dementia, and Sam suffering from magical Kryptonian dissociative identity disorder, and how they both feel like they’re losing control. And I’m really glad Sam and Ruby got a happy ending. ANd Kara’s mom survived! I’m glad she got something good in the end. But Winn!!
Nice! Hot chocolate is always better than coffee.
That’s a really good point about both M'yrnn and Sam losing control.
Shows often do have parallels between the first and secondary plots. Though, Sam was losing control without realizing it at first, while M’rynn was more in denial. I just wish we could have kept M’rynn, and Sam and Ruby. I really liked them all. I also may have liked the idea of Alex and Sam.
Alura! I loved that we got to see Argo, and Alura. The logic of Kara having to choose between earth and Argo was sort stupid though. Purely because the trip between them is really short? She honestly could visit Argo just as easily as visiting Midvale (perhaps not quite as short a trip, but its basically one plane ride away), yet when she left that first time it was as if she wasn’t coming back. Also, I really wish Alex had been able to visit with Kara.
Winn leaving was certainly sad, but I have to say I do love Brainy a whole lot and he is certainly not a disappointing replacement. We’ll eventually get a visit from Winn at a later date which will be cool to see, though he’s pretty much out of the show forever otherwise.
What do you think about the upcoming Red Son(Daughter) story line hinted at the very end? I think seeing a different version of Kara without the same history will be cool.

Supergirl Spoilers- 3x15
I have very mixed feelings about how this episode handled Mon-El + his relationship with Kara. I'm really glad their lack of closure was discussed, and I'm glad they're consistently saying that Mon-El's behavior early in season 2 wasn't okay, because it absolutely wasn't, but on the other it kind of felt like they were trying too hard. It felt like they were trying to respond to all the fan criticism of Mon-El, when they really should have just... not done that.
Under a cut because this got kind of long, oops. And at the end is a list of what I liked about this episode- which was literally everything else in it- because I try to be a positive person. :)
Like yeah, Mon-El definitely was a jerk, but he also tried to improve himself almost immediately when people pointed out how crappy he was being, and he tried so hard to be better. And he really was better. He messed up sometimes in how he treated Kara, but again, he always immediately took into account when Kara or anyone else told him he was doing something wrong and improved. The first example that comes to mind is in 2x14, iirc, when Mon-El asked Winn for relationship advice and Winn told him he needed listen to what Kara was saying and what she wanted. Then later that same episode when Kara was upset because of what happened with Jeremiah, Mon-El's immediate reaction when comforting her was to ask Kara to tell him what she needed and he'd listen.
Also, Kara said their relationship wasn't perfect, and it felt a bit like it was meant to come off as a some big revelation and indictment of Mon-El and Karamel last season. But the thing is that no relationship is perfect. Perfection is impossible, but just because a relationship isn't perfect doesn't mean it isn't good. And the same with Mon-El as a person. I don't like how this episode sounded an awful lot like tumblr's mentality of "people are either 100% perfect or 100% problematic, there is no in between and even if people change and improve it doesn't count because they were wrong once."
The whole repetition of "Mon-El was a jerk and Karamel wasn't perfect/had problems" just felt way too heavy-handed, like the show was trying to show Mon-El/Karamel haters that it was "self-aware" and change their minds by changing Mon-El. The problems with that are that A. People who dislike Mon-El don't always do so for logical reasons (aka, shipping reasons) and B. whatever their reasons for disliking him, the show "admitting" he used to be a jerk (which was never something it shied away from in the first place) isn't going to change their minds.
Aside from that, everything else in this episode was just as great as usual. I loved M'rynn and J'onn's plotline; a discussion of aging and how it affects people and their families isn’t something that’s common in media, but it is something very important to discuss, and I’m glad the show did that. I liked that we got to learn more about Alex's family, I liked Kara mentioning Jor-El and bringing up her loss of Krypton and how that helped both M'rynn and J'onn work through their issues. Kara took a bit of a backseat this episode, but I really liked that she still ended up playing a role in resolving M’rynn’s conflict just by being the compassionate person that she is and showing once more how she inspires people to be better just by being herself and leading by example.
Lena is so so smart and caring  and I constantly want to hug her and tell her it's okay; her scenes with James were cute and I’m enjoying seeing that relationship develop. (Why do I feel like it’s going to get angsty soon though...) Last but defnitely not least, Sam finding out she was Reign made me cry. Very very emotional, and Odette’s acting was amazing. It hurt to watch just as much as it was supposed to.
Also really looking forward to more Legion next week (give me more amazing badass Imra and Brainy being an awkward-and-somewhat-arrogant genius!), and seeing Pestilence.

the-underappreciated-anon wrote:
This was a great episode to me, it did a lot in just over 40mins. It highlighted its theme on humanity and loss while driving the story and character development forward, that felt seamless and convincing. So I’m just gonna gush here;
- [ ] Let’s start with the main plot, J’onn and M’rynn. Continuing form last episodes reveal about M’rynn deteriorating health, he and J’onn have trouble accepting and adapting to M’rynn’s dementia. What I think is so great about this is that it runs in tandem with Lena and Sam’s Reign situation, how hard it is to accept reality when it goes wrong and the feeling of loss after. (And good Lord does my heart bleed for you Samantha Arias.) Then there’s the role of J’onn and Lena as support, it’s hard, how do you help and the emotional strain it puts on both parties and feeling of being stuck, not knowing what to do, so relatable. (Which, by the way, I feel will be the precursor to the Supergirl/Lena conflict that’s to come.)
- [ ] That point also ties in with Kara and Mon-El, which was pretty bluntly presented, acceptance and dealing with loss, not just with the relationship but with what Mon-El represented, a culture and people lost with the explosion of Krypton. Accepting that her parents and Krypton were not infallible but learning to move forward, be better. Now, isn’t that exactly who Kara is?
- [ ] Then there’s Kara and Alex, and James. They also work in parallel with each other this episode. Kara and Alex supporting space dad J’onn and James supporting Lena. Support in a way that’s not invasive, and reinforces Alex’s “it’s not my place” last ep but acting as support anyway, reinforces El Mayara from the background.
Everyone is dealing with their trauma and issues, isn’t it just the best time for Pam from HR to make an appearance.
(In a completely unrelated note, I saw someone comment something like “no one beats up Alex Danvers’ little brother but Alex Danvers” when M’rynn was going into psychic bleed and just… hahahahaha … idk i found that just so funny. Okay I’m done. Feel free to correct me on anything here, I pretty much still have my goggly eyes goggles on when I wrote this.)
Your thoughts?
response:
UM THIS EPISODE WAS FUN???
And when I say fun, I mean there were actual tears in my eyes at least once because I’m always here for some solid parent/child angst.
You’re right – all three of the relationship stories tied together around the theme of loss and acceptance of it. This episode was also something of a tipping point for all of the characters involved: J’onn is now confronting the reality that he will again have to say goodbye to his family and his culture; Sam is confronting the fact that nothing about her life is what it seemed; and Kara has completed the grieving process that we’ve seen her grapple with since 3x01.
This episode was explicitly designed to show us that Kara is rounding out her arc from the front half of the season – it showed her embracing all of the things that she’d been intentionally shutting out of her life when S3 started. She’s back to hosting game nights and laughing with her family; she actually smiled and had fun while breaking up the bar fight; and then she fully closed the door on the part of her past that was giving her difficulty.
The Sam and Lena stuff was brutal, and also a really nice parallel to how M’yrnn was lashing out at both J’onn and everyone around him. Sam didn’t harm other people throughout her process of accepting what was wrong with her, but only because Lena took that choice away from her in advance. J’onn tried to spare M’yrnn that indignity, and the results were very nearly disastrous. So, in the end, who got it right? Where do you draw the line between letting people have their freedom and protecting them from harm? It’s an important question and one that was raised here with much more subtlety than we’ve seen from S1 or S2.
(And think, this easily circles back to 3x01 with Alex and J’onn’s debate about how long to let Kara carry on in her grief without intervention. It’s like it was intentional or something, 😱)
And now to change the subject, JAMES AND LENA WAS REALLY CUTE??? It was also interesting to see him be respectful of the fact that she has things she’d like to keep confidential – James has always been part of the Super story, so we’ve never seen him be on the outside of somebody’s secrets. It’s also a curious hint at how James might differentiate his personal and professional obligations when it comes to Lena and her job. (Remember, this is the same guy who was willing to force Kara into his office to remind her that he was still her boss, no matter how understanding he was as a friend.) We haven’t seen that ethical debate come up re: CatCo and responsibility to the public since way back in S1, so I’m very curious to see how all of this plays out going forward.
Pam from HR was a hilarious cameo that I loved immensely.
