So here's a few things i've noticed abt the luka salt takes
99999.9% of the takes r like:
"LUKA IS A CREEP"
"LUKA MANIPULATE MARINETTE"
"LUKA GUILT TRIPS HER"
"LUKA HAS THE PERSONALITY OF A PLANK OF WOOD"
"PEOPLE WORSHIP LUKA FOR DOING NOTHING"
"LUKA CAN'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER"
"LUKA'S THE MOST WHITEST AND BORING CHARACTER"
And then my brain was like:
"huh? None of these takes are making sense"
but then it reminded me of someone.....
creep.....manipulative......guilt tripping.....being worshipped for nothing......can't take no for an answer...whitest and boring character....Wait....all of those things match Adrien not Luka......Wait....ARE THEY.....
ARE LUKA SALTERS REALLY PROJECTING ADRIEN ONTO LUKA JUST TO PAINT HIM (LUKA) ON A BAD LIGHT?

Why I Hate Luka’s Character Arc, Luka’s Fandom & Luka’s Romance with Marinette (But Not Luka Himself)
Luka Couffaine is Marinette’s alternate love interest, her temptation from Adrien Agreste. He’s everything she ever wanted—kind, sensitive, supportive, understanding, artistically talented. He always puts her first, above everything else, never says a word or shows a thought that conflicts with her own beliefs, and allows her to do whatever she wants, even if that means ditching him for Adrien time and time again. Everything Luka Couffaine does, he does to completely benefit Marinette, and, unlike other characters in the show, nothing he does so much as slightly inconveniences her.
And that’s the problem.
Literally the only reason Luka exists in the show is to be Marinette’s love interest, a rival for her affection for Adrien. It’s so glaringly obvious, it makes me nauseous. Literally 95% of his screentime is completely dedicated to her, to his feelings for her, to serve her character arc. The writers shove any opportunities to make him more than that. And they’ve had plenty of opportunities. Wouldn’t it be so much more interesting to see Luka struggle with accepting his father back into his life after walking out on the family? To see more of his brother-sister dynamic with Juleka? See him chase his dreams of being a musician? But no, 95% of all his screentime is focused on the romantic tension between him and Marinette, on his crush on her, on their relationship, on their breakup. There is barely a moment he has onscreen that in not tied to her in someway. Luka isn’t a character. He’s more like a glorified plot device, an accessory to Marinette’s story, used to further her own character arc and make easy drama for the show.
Before you argue with “Hey, if Luka is a plot device, isn’t Kagami one, too? After all, she was invented for the same reasons as Luka, to be an alternate love interest and rival.” Kagami may have started out as just another alternate love interest for Adrien and rival for Marinette, but she has since grown since then. She has screentime outside of Adrien. There was even a whole episode dedicated to Marinette, and the watchers by extension, figuring out there’s more to her than just someone competing with her for Adrien. Kagami is more than just a girl who loves Adrien. She is a lonely rich kid under immense pressure from her overbearing single parent, guarding her vulnerability through apathy, but who secretly wants friendship and love like any other kid. And over time, she befriends Marinette, developing a bond with her beyond just rivalry over a boy. Kagami even gets screentime after her breakup.
That is something Luka isn’t given. He doesn’t have any hidden depths revealed, doesn’t develop an actual friendship with Adrien. He’s just there to be temptation for Marinette. Moreover, Kagami has actual flaws, like a temper and “second place is for losers” attitude, and is too blunt for her own good, whereas Luka is bland perfection. Luka is what I call “a Ken doll”. Just like Ken was invented solely to be Barbie’s love interest and perfect boyfriend, Luka was invented solely to be Marinette’s perfect guy, the easier option than Adrien. Nothing else. There is only one character in the series that’s less developed than him, and that’s Zoe. Kagami has the potential to become a character in her own right, outside of her romantic ties with Adrien. Not Luka.
What’s worse, because Luka has no purpose other than being Marinette’s perfect boyfriend, his existence in the show further pollutes what is already a very toxic, negative fandom. Thanks to some controversial decisions that Adrien has made, many fans are quick to write him off as a selfish coward who is unworthy of Marinette’s affection and care. And when they cross him off Matinette’s love interest list, who is their next choice? None other than Luka Couffaine, the only character in the whole series who has never done a single thing to even slightly inconvenience Marinette and whose whole entire existence revolves around her.
I have no qualms against Luka having a fandom. In fact, I think he deserves it. But the problem I have is that most of his fans don’t like him because they admire his character or his story. Most of his fans like him simply because he is not Adrien. As you may know, 90% of thos fandom thinks it’s a crime punishable by death to have thoughts and moral and opinions and a perspective of your own that constrasts in any way with Marinette’s. Unlike Adrien, Luka has never shown to have any opinions or morals that differ from Marinette’s, or to be developing any friendships with any other character beside her, have any kind of personality outside if being her perfect boyfriend. Fans think Marinette is the only character that truly matters in the series, and that anyone who inconveniences her even a little bit deserve to suffer forever. Meanwhile, Luka, a character who only serves to benefit Marinette is just the kind of thing the salters gobble up. Because Luka is not his own person outside of being Marinette’s perfect loyal boyfriend. Because literally all he does is support her and build her up, instead of actually getting a life outside of pleasing her. At least half of Luka’s fandom was born not out of genuine love for the character’s traits and interests or personality. Half of Luka’s fanbase was born because he is one of the few characters who’s whole existence is completely dedicated to serving her positively, to loving her and helping her and nothing else.
Luka devoting his entire existence to Marinette may seem romantic on paper, but let’s face it—in real life, it’s extremely unhealthy. Abd this is evident in the series. Hypocritical fans keep saying the love square is toxic, that Adrien treats Marinette badly, that Lukanette is the healthier ship. But that is pure hypocrisy. Because Lukanette is even more toxic than the love square. Marinette treats Luka like $h!t. She basically uses him as a spare tire, a backup in case things don’t work out with Adrien. She strings him along, only going out with him when she thinks her chances with Adrien are over, then as soon as she thinks those chances have gotten better, she ditches Luka to go running after Adrien again. Even worse, Luka lets her do this to him. He even makes a beautiful heartfelt confession to her, and doesn’t say boo when she doesn’t give him a solid answer and just pretends it never happened. He supports her with Adrien, but despite knowing that she prefers him, Luka doesn’t make any effort to move on. He remains single, like he’d rather sit around and wait for Marinette on the off chance that she MIGHT change her mind and settle for him. Luka is smart, funny, handsome, sensitive, talented, and completely unselfish. He could have his pick of girls. Instead, he chooses to sit around and wait for the one girl who sees him as second to another guy. In what universe is that a healthy relationship?!
Now, if Luka was a person in real life, I’d love him. And I want to love his character, too, because he’s perfect. But his perfection is why I can’t really get as behind him as I can Marinette or Adrien or Kagami. He’s a Marty Stu, and serves no other purpose other than being Marinette’s perfect man. He needs to exhibit his own flaws to feel like a real character. He needs his fans to love him based on who he is as person, not based on his relationship with Marinette. And he needs to get over his unhealthy devotion to Marinette and find someone who deserves his undying loyalty, not someone who’s only keeping him around as a backup in case her first choice doesn’t work.
In short, Luka deserves better, from the writers, from the fans, and most of all, from Marinette.

Several times recently I've found myself making tea whilst listening to The Magnus Archives, and as a result I've developed a silly little headcanon...
I'm not sure if it's a nationwide thing, but certainly throughout my life I've experienced the weird stigma of having sugar in your tea. It's not direct or aggressive, but there always seems to be this vague notion that sweetening your tea makes you less strong, less manly. I rarely see men ask for sugar, and often observe an obvious proudness in teenage boys when they say "no sugar, thanks."
Picture Jonathan Sims, newly appointed archivist, worried he's not good enough, placed haphazardly in power of people who were very recently peers, and desperately trying to prove he's the right man for the job. Everything seems to be falling apart a bit, and he's not at all sure his assistants have any faith in him; he had to ask for a tape recorder because he couldn't get his laptop to work properly - that's embarrassing.
Now imagine Martin: office sweetheart, gets along with pretty much anyone, just moved to a new position working with two close friends, and the attractive guy from research is his boss (he's a bit rude and stuck up, but it's probably just the stress, right?). He's pretty comfortable! Aside from the occasional snide remark from Jon it is a good job, which is especially pleasing considering how he got to work at the institute in the first place.
Two opposing forces, as we all well know! But what's better at building bridges than a nice cup of tea? Martin makes a lot of tea, but I like to think he memorises how everyone takes theirs. Regardless, he has to ask at least once.
And so, kind, sweet, gentle Martin, his offer of a cup of tea promptly accepted, would have the misfortune of saying, "do you take that with sugar?" to an embarrassed, flustered Jon, who's trying desperately not to confront any romantic feelings he might have hidden away. The ensuing scoff and slightly too enthusiastic 'No! Thank you.' would be enough to remember that preference for a while.
As times go on, hundreds of cups of tea later, things get less tense between the pair, and Martin never has to revisit the question; but late one night, shortly before Jon is to leave for Great Yarmouth and Martin is to risk it all to take down Elias, Jon places a hand gently on Martin's shoulder and asks "Could I have a cup of tea?". Of course Martin says yes, it's the least he could do, but as he turns to go and make it, Jon calls out again. "With sugar, please."
Just a tiny vulnerability, but enough. By that point most of Jon's facade has been torn roughly away many times, but letting go of small points of pride often means more than non-deliberate actions. Having enough bravery to admit to liking something soft and sweet is harder than you'd think.
Maybe during those six months after, Martin would watch the sugar dissolve into his own tea with a painful melancholy, the sweetness a bitter memory.

I will now list my favorite things about each S5 episode, I'll list one thing to keep it short
1.finding out Fu met Ladybug and Cat Noir in the past. It could have been anyone who helped him that day in "Origins", but he always knew it would be them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2.Adrien attempting to greet Marinette with a kiss on the cheek. It's normal for Parisians(and others I imagine) but for a lot of us it tends to only happen with people you feel the most comfortable and closest to.
Tumblr media
3.Marinette actively being the image of stress and responsibility piled onto one young person as she tries to think ahead and plan for the worst possible outcome.
Tumblr media
4.Ladybug checking Mr. Damocles pocket in hopes there really is a clue to Monarch's location.
Tumblr media
5.The cafeteria identity reveal, it was chaotic gold *chefs kiss
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
6.Luka purposely trying to make Adrien jealous to get him to realize his feelings for Marinette.   ufvbhgfvbnjhgv!!! XD
Tumblr media
7.Nathalie accepting Emelie's blessing to be a mother to Adrien.
Tumblr media
8. The miraculous ancestor making their official debut into the show.
Tumblr media
9. Marinette being open about her frustrations and telling everyone its unfair she be the only one who shouldn't love whomever she wants.
Tumblr media
10. Alya and Zoe becoming the new(but still temporary) holders of the ladybug and cat miraculous.
Tumblr media
11.Adrien unknowingly defying his father and taking back the ladybug earrings from him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
12.Everyone adding their phone numbers to Kagami's contacts so she knows they are all there for her.
Tumblr media
13.Luka's vision shifting back and forth between viewing Marinette and Adrien as civilians and heroes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
14. Sabrina gradually realizing that Chloe has no respect for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
15.Marinette making the effort to not fall back into her old habits, but still struggling none the less cause its hard.
Tumblr media
16.Adrien switching to his pajamas so Marinette doesn't feel embarrassed about showing up to the mansion in her pajamas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
17. Marinette being considerate of Zoe's feelings while giving her a proper rejection.
Tumblr media
18.Amalie realizing that the rich people she spent her whole life trying to please and fit into is filled with terrible people who don't care about her or her family.
Tumblr media
19.Marinette standing up to Gabriel and not taking any of his smack talking, she was ruthless and it was glorious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
20.Lila collecting blackmail, she's evil, but man is she good at it.
Tumblr media
21. Lila finally being exposed as a liar, I've waited 80 years(not really) for this very moment.
Tumblr media
22. Adrien being rebellious and talking back to his dad, with mom-I mean Nathalie fully supporting him. Him saying bye to Nathalie and not Gabriel was a nice cherry on top.
Tumblr media
23. Marinette refusing to let Chloe belittle and hurt her once again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
24. Adrien's nightmare and him still retaining that nightmare. The chaos, the desperation, the drama, holy smokes it was awesome. (I like chaos)
Tumblr media
25 and 26. All of it.....all of it

First day of college is tomorrow so
Team Miraculous Headcanons!
(Note: I feel like the temp heros arent fleshed out as much so im only talking about their role on the team and the difference between their civilian and hero persona.)
Ladybug & Chat Noir: you already know.
Rena Rouge & Carapace: Just like the two lovebirds up there, I think there personalities swap in their hero personas. While Alya is the more rational one and Nino the coming up with crazy ideas, Rena is the crazy idea girl and Carapace is the one that wants everyone to think things through. In combat, Carapace is a frontliner like Chat Noir but with meatshield bent. Rena rarely sees combat because she's more of a mission control/guy in the chair/Navigator and yes I can randomly make persona references that supports the team from the shadows with illusions and spying on the villain.
Queen Bee: This might contradict canon but idc, Queen Bee is nice! Like yeah, she still insults her teammates, but not to their faces anymore! Chloe's making an effort to not be bad and she's failing, but it's the thought that counts right? In battle, Chloe is just doing her best Ladybug impression and it's not too bad.
Vesperia: If Queen Bee is Chloe trying to be nice, then Vesperia is Zoe being a savage! The girl has a lot of pent up anger from living with Audrey and Chloe at the same time, so she deserves to cut loose a bit. Vesperia is one of the heroes that uses the most taunts and insults against villains, sometimes to bait them but most of the time it's just her being a little bad. She's a frontliner but with an emphasis on dodging hits and grabbing attention.
Viperion: Luka is approachable, Viperion is not. He has creepy eyes and half of Paris is convinced he's psychic and can read minds (which isn't entirely wrong, he just reads emotions). The bad rep dosen't bother Luka too much, but it gets annoying when his teammates are scared of him.
Pegasus: Despite being a nerd, Max really isn't an uptight person. As long as something dosen't endanger himself, he's open to trying new things. Pegasus isn't. He lowkey believes he's surrounded by idiots including Ladybug (but he obeys her orders cause she hasn't really lost yet). Half of Paris is also terrified by him because he's able to pull off Batman levels of big brain during a fight.
King Monkey: Most of the temp's hero personas have different personalities but King monkey really is just Kim in monkey suit. Max has lowkey sussed out his identity, Kim suspects nothing.
Ryuko: Kagami is calm, which is why no one has figured out her identity because Ryuko is cRaZy. She's like one of those middle schoolers pretending to be their favorite anime character but WITH REAL POWERS! Villains are also scared of her because she has like 3 powers for some reason.
Purple Tigress: What more can I add? We all saw her: a raging cat lesbian. She's a berserker!
Pigella: She's like that one "threatening positivity" post: you will feel better, you have no choice >:)". the Love square between her and Tigress is real also. In fight she's like those really annoying spell casters that hypnotize your party members.
Miss Hound: When Sabrina transforms she just goes full Chloe! All the years of being mistreated come out as her being 10× meaner than any other hero! Miss Hound dodges a villains attack? "And thats why your useless, utterly useless!" She and Vesperia are besties!

All the 'Bamf Marinette' stuff in Marinette Sugar feels like it's missing the point out as to WHY Marinette deserves better. She's like the least power hungry person in the whole show, she dosen't need to become a god or something, she needs to be allowed to be just an ordinary teen superhero doing silly shenanigans instead of having trauma after trauma thrown at her and to be allowed to love Luka-JUST Luka, not a lowkey racist harem where she's infantalized for her wasian heritage-and for her and Alya and most of her classmates to have normal,HEALTHY friendships and last but certainly not least to absolutely demolish Adrien,Chloe,Felix and Lila for abusing her. That's literally it,y'all wildin' with this M*ribat shit and she wants nothing to do with it-Source:I actually understand her character instead of seeing her as Y/n

Words cannot desribe how frustrating it is to listen to Adrien Salters who are also Lukanette Shippers use the deconstruction of the Nice Guy trope to prove that Adrinette is toxic (all on Adrien’s side, of course) while Lukanette is the superior ship, when the Nice Guy mindset is the foundation of Lukanette.
Adrien Salters who ship Lukanette: Adrien is such an entitled jerk! He’s a textbook example of the so-called Nice Guy who thinks that the girl owes him her love or at least a chance at a relationship just because he treats her well and is open with his adoration! That stuff doesn’t entitle him to her affections! He doesn’t deserve any of her love!
Also Adrien Salters who ship Lukanette: Why isn’t Luka Marinette’s main love interest instead of Adrien? He’s such a nice guy! He treats her so well and so openly adores her! Marinette owes him a real chance at a relationship instead of just chasing after a jerk! He actually deserves her love, unlike Adrien!

The Karma Of Lies
By: CartoonAddict564
Ship: Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng | Ladybug
Minor Ships: Juleka Couffaine/Rose Lavillant, Alya Césaire/Nino Lahiffe, Ivan Bruel/Mylène Haprèle, Jean Duparc/Kagami Tsurugi
Status: Complete
Salt: Chloé Bourgeois Sugar, Juleka Couffaine Sugar, Rose Lavillant Sugar, Adrien Agreste Salt, Alya Césaire Salt, Lila Rossi Salt, MiracuClass Salt
Summary:
All Adrien wanted was to keep the peace and make sure everyone in his class stayed friendly. That was why he took the high road, held his tongue, and allowed Lila's lies to spread unchecked. He didn't think this was a big deal; sure, Marinette complained, but she'd endured just fine when he'd defended Chloe, so why would this be any different? And besides, who could be hurt by a couple of tall tales about celebrities and fake charitable work?
But karma is a stubborn thing. It can occasionally be deflected, such that a villain is protected from her well-deserved punishment, but it can never be truly stopped--especially when the Ladybug miraculous is involved. In those cases, if appropriate consequences cannot fall upon the villain herself, they inevitably descend upon the protector who upheld her lies, downplayed her cruelties, and shielded her from harm.
And by the time Adrien learns just what sort of punishment that Lila earned and that he must now endure, it may be far too late for him.
Miraculous salt fic.
Opinion: This is such a good fic. Quite possibly the best Miraculous Ladybug Fic I’ve ever read. Most certainly in the top ten. If you have I low tolerance for Salt I can’t recommend it but I can’t think of anything that could turn a Lukanette Shipper away from this fic. Even Lila is actually a competent villain. And despite being Salty it doesn’t feel Wildly Out Of Character. Sadly Certain People do not get the fate they so richly deserve but there’s a Lore reason for this and that is the whole premise of the fic. Even if you don’t reread it a dozen or so times like I did I honestly could not recommend it more highly.
