Oh no, my friends... Lately I was considering the chances that in s3 Aziraphale may find an unlikely ally in Michael, both being sword-wielding angels, but I've just suddenly remembered: in Christian mythology, one of the main endeavours linked to the cult of the Archangel Michael it's him slaying the dragon.
And the word "dragon" has a long documented use as a interchangeable synonym for... snake.

I'm worried for our demon now... what if Michael attacks Crowley? What if Aziraphale doesn't arrive in time, or the Metatron stops him from intervening?

L’assurda storia della Sepoltura negata a Niccolò Paganini
Tumblr media
No, non penso avesse preso dell’assenzio.

Book Blurb: It's all fun and games until someone catches feelingsFate sends me straight into the lion's den. Or rather, the fox's den. After my dad trespassed into a powerful fox demon's territory, our family is struck with a powerful curse. Now, to remove it, I'll have to appeal to the demon's better nature.Easier said than done. That arrogant fox demon won't be swayed by an apology basket full of treats. He does, however, need a fake mate for a week-long Winter Festival.Though I'd be a liar if I didn't admit that our doting lovers' act was becoming harder by the day. The more time I spent with Lucca, the more his irresistible charms get under my skin. Deep down, I know it's all a game. But my heart just can't seem to get the memo. When our week-long affair comes to a close, will I really be able to walk away?
Review:
When her father steals from a fox’s den, she’ll have to appease the fox and convince him to break the curse.... except what he wants in return is for her to be his pretend mate for a week to convince a dragon to give him land.... what was only suppose to be fake begins to turn very real. This was a short and fun read, it was funny and definitely a great time.

gabriel: every day, asmodeus tortured me. every day. he fed off my grace for years. he used me, he debased me, until i was… what i went through — you don't forgive. everyone who had a hand in it will die. get me?
sam: yeah, we do.
dean: okay, you went through it. we get it. ... but killing loki? not gonna change any of that. ... probably not even gonna make you feel better.
gabriel: well, agree to disagree, dean-o. we all have our demons.
-
dean: not like i care about killing gods, okay? but this whole revenge kick? it's a waste of time. you've seen it, sam. with me, with dad. revenge only ends one way — ugly.
sam: well, maybe it doesn't have to.
dean: okay, i think i know what this is. ... you're so hopped up on this ‘kill bill’ fantasy of his. if you had a shot at lucifer, you wouldn't take it?
sam: of course i would. but this is about gabriel. he needs our help.
sam’s relating to people seeking revenge this season is consistently mounting. i won’t get repetitive, but father lucca and rowena were in the same boat — seeking what they lost and losing themselves in that. even father lucca—
father lucca: i didn’t know what to do.
sam: so you hit me?
father lucca: the skull was gone. when i saw you found something, i lost my head, okay?
—hurt sam to get his relic back, just like rowena nearly killed sam to get crowley, and kevin—
kevin: michael says… when he lets me into heaven, i'll get to see my mom again.
mary: i’ve been to heaven, and what's there — it's just memories. nothing's real.
kevin: [crying] i don’t care. you don't understand. you don't know the things that i've done. i just want this to be over.
—double-crossed mary, jack, and the hunters on the promise that he’d see his mom. gabriel’s ready to do anything to get his peace of mind back. and every single time, sam stated that he understood. he got it. he’d be desperate too if put in their shoes. i don’t know, i just like seeing sam go through similar arcs and reach a place where he knows revenge isn’t right, but he feels for the people seeking revenge because it’s born from pain and a need for peace. to cleanse and restart, which sam fully understands.
but dean is... conflicted, as always. he knows revenge isn’t right either. he just got over nearly taking his grief out on jack. so, i do not blame him at all for trying to keep sam from making the heart choice instead of the smart choice this time. if he gives other people’s decisions an inch, they’ll take a mile and leave everyone devastated. i mean, it’s funny — he and sam / cas are paralleling mary and jack in that way. i did say that mary had balanced her parenting instincts and her hunting instincts, both of which dean possesses. so, dean and mary are being level-headed and asking for sam, cas, and jack to be patient. to think things through. to not risk their own and other people’s lives for the sake of a cause, or it will end ugly. but with situations dire — it’s hard to hold onto rationale.

Descriptions:
(quotation marks indicates a blurb we already wrote; no quotations means we wrote it on the spot)
A) Dawn Of Red Death
“Witches, fae, werewolves, vampires and the like are in an all-out war with nonmagical folk (typical humans). The government sees profit in recreating the genes of their abilities and selling them to the nonmagical public, and exploiting the living magical community as pets or servants; the magical community doesn’t want to be cloned or enslaved. Normal everyday folk are scared of their power and potential and want them either locked up or dead; of course, magic folk prefer freedom. Many innocents have died and tensions are running high. Personal stakes are high. Cal saves Davide’s life, and Davide is thrust into a world he had no intentions of mingling with; but after some time spent talking to Cal and Nathan he finds something deep within himself and comes to the decision that the nonmagical folk shouldn’t win this war due to the dire consequences in place for the magical community. So it’s up to our gang of unlikely heroes to end the war for good.”
B) ¿Don’t You Wanna Be The Villain?
“The label “villain” is stuck on someone with questionable methods, but who fights for a good cause. The government is corrupt and greedy, and keeps sending unwilling soldiers to fight White Hawk for them. But White Hawk somehow keeps setting everyone they send free and sending them home...until they send a child to do their dirty work for them.”
C) The Hidden Villain
A crew of heroes has been battling their villain for a long time. During one of their fights, the villain hits the ground a little hard...and with total amnesia, doesn't remember who they are or why they're fighting. The heroes take care of the villain as they recover, & because he likes being taken care of he doesn’t tell them when he starts to remember things (past the point before he became a villain). The heroes find out more than they bargained for as he begins to trust them; that leaves them with a decision of what to do when he does remember, if he doesn’t immediately harm them.
D) Nightstalker Fae’s Dream
Inspired by a tune we heard: “Liar is my instrument, but humans strum their sweet guitar”
A particular type of fae called a Nightstalker gets lost in the human realm after escaping his abusers in the fae realm. Fae hunters are everywhere and Harley is in danger. After a couple years, he meets a sorcerer who doesn't want him dead and has no clue he's fae...and he falls in love. But eventually Azure finds out that Harley is fae, and he despises being lied to. Harley doesn't have much time to figure out if Azure fell too, and to win him back, before fear turns Azure's heart cold.
E) Rising Into Heaven
Tre is a little kid who just happens to be a demon. He escapes Hell by freeing an angel, but if he goes back he'll be in danger. Will the angels let him live, or will they refuse to trust a demon?
F) When Destiny Falls
The DESTINY team chooses a new infant to become the next villain as their current one gets older. But as he grows up, Phoenyx keeps responding differently than they expect, even into adulthood resisting the call of villainy. Meanwhile an academy trains five "heroes" to become egotistical warriors, with the expectation that they will eventually have to fight Phoenyx. When destiny (& the government) calls, will you bend to its will, or will you write your own story & let destiny fall?
G) The Hero Who Can’t Speak
A hero who never speaks intrigues his fans. Most are convinced he's mute or deaf, because no one has heard him speak and he seem to know how to read lips and knows some sign language. It's all speculation...until he finally speaks.
H) But We Could Be Immortal, Darling
“Three low-life thieves makes a plan: one of them (whomever is deemed likeable) woo the crown prince Willow, bide their time, marry him, and when he becomes king, kill him (puts one of them on the throne to pardon all of the others’ crimes). But their pet gets chosen instead - a shy undiscovered queer who wants nothing to do with their plan. They assume he’s afraid enough to cooperate, but while he dates and tries to woo the prince he ends up falling in love. Will their love win, or will Robyn’s fear?”
I) Exposed To The Naïve, Never To The Clever
“An ancient fae, Napoléon, has safely hidden in various theatre crews for a century, moving on as soon as suspicions about his age arise. Everyone he's been exposed to has been naïve & easily convinced that his magic was simply a theatre trick….that is, until an ancient vampire from the same generation, Romulus, joins Napoléon's new theatre. Napoléon has only been exposed to the naïve, and unless they can convince Romulus to keep a secret they might be in real danger for once. These traumatized ancient beings may be each other's end….or each other's eternal love.”
J) Banished To Freedom
- A mafia is experimenting with alternate dimensions; they’re open about this in one dimension & quiet about it in another. Corbyn is from Fade Dimension where they’re open about it. Chance is from Rune Dimension where they’re quiet.
- Banishing Corbyn to Rune Dimension basically blends Corbyn & Chance into one person? one ish person who has memories & emotions from both dimensions, responds to both names, etc.; this can’t be undone once it’s done & leaves them as /essentially/ (sort of) the same person even though they’re different
“Corbyn is tired of living in his universe where everyone is cruel to him…so he takes a huge risk that his father wasn't lying about sending him away and that the magicless universe will be a safe place to hide.
Chance finally got away from his abusers, only to be found again. He'll need a miracle to survive…or a little magic.”
K) The Runaways
Forrest is finally free; he's escaped the cult's grasp and gone on the run. He takes a risk to go into a quiet house to hide....and discovers the Still System. Forrest breaks down crying and unintentionally trips their host Benjamin into front, who decides to not let him fall back into cult hands.
L) Saving Hawthorne
Hawthorne stumbled across the right place to be injured, entirely on accident. Fearless Gen Z rebel Ever rescues the injured monster from crawling up the staircase again and hushes his sobs, not realizing this will launch him into the midst of a war between vampires & lycanthropes. Hawthorne runs away as soon as he can, but Ever has already been noticed. This puts them in danger, which draws Hawthorne back to save his new friend.
M) Eclipse For Your Soul
Samandrael eats souls and drives any human who views its true form mad...until one traumatized little kid doesn't go mad. Samandrael performs his first act of selfless benevolence, and destroys Eclipse's abusive father. He adopts the kid and brings him home. No one understands why this monster would rescue a child and assumes fae kidnapped him. But they simply found someone worth saving.
N) Lightwing’s Journey
((We began this at five years old & it's an ongoing piece. It was originally inspired by Warrior Cats, but became its own thing at some point & continues to expand as a universe and a story.))
Robin is miserable living with his father...so he launches an escape plan. After several failed attempts, he finally escapes his father's territory and slinks into hiding as the elusive Lightwing. It's there that he finds out his father's sinister plan for the other packs...and sets out to dismantle it as the prophecy foretold.
"One kit to wander the lands, see them all, and understand. One kit, light as a feather, to unite the lands and fight together! The darkness is coming, strong and swift, to blind them all and create a rift. One kit to rule all packs, unite them again, and destroy the dark one’s plans. O) The Final Symptom
“Some people find out the hard way that some illnesses are deadly. ~Aiden
An attempt to reframe su*c*de as a symptom of depression, rather than a failure. Not because losing someone to su*c*de isn't tragic, but instead because (from the perspective of someone who has depression) we wanted to show from our perspective that su*c*de is about losing the war to depression no matter how many battles you win, instead of a display of selfishness & lack of care about those around you. One of the symptoms of depression is that it makes you feel like a burden on your loved ones…a burden you feel the need to remove so they can be happy. So here is our understanding: The Final Symptom. ~Nico”
P) Hidden Healers Shatter
This is our understanding of becoming a system. The basic idea is, you're someone who wants to heal &/or realizes you need to heal in a household of people who refuse to, or don't realize they need to, heal...so you hide, and you stay multiple (viewed as "shattering") to survive.
Q) Correrina’s Guest
[unnamed MC alien]'s grandfather sold him to a much older, creepy man who doesn't respect anyone. [unnamed MC] ran to Earth hoping to escape his "husband", but Hayden ends up finding him anyway and kidnapping the person he fell in love with on Earth. So [MC] launches a rescue mission...and reconnects with the family he was forced to abandon in his search for safety.
R) The Moment Death Became Rebirth
Grey Morrison is tired of his boring, pampered CEO life. So he fakes his death to escape his job, his life, and his wife. What he finds on the other side as Trace Vera was more than he bargained for...and everything he desperately needed.

Thinking about Luna and Lucca again, so I'm just going to jump into it - no holds barred - and see what shakes out.
*Note that their past lives are around circa 1480s-1490s medieval Italy, and as such their names then are not what they refer to themselves as today. For simplicity's sake, I will just be referring to them as Luna and Lucca throughout.
Narratively speaking, they are siblings (not twins, but siblings) who represent two sides of the same coin: order and chaos. Their story revolves around these two opposing forces that are constantly in a state of flux.
Luna represents order. She is cold and logical. She has to restrain her emotions lest she be seen as wild and hysterical, and unable to be reasoned with. She is a diplomat, and a conniving one at that, but she knows what her strengths are and where her true value lies. She is the serpent lying in wait underneath a basket of rose petals, waiting for the right moment to strike. She is patient, observant, and above all in control of herself. Until she isn't.
Lucca represents chaos. He often lets his emotions run wild, when for a majority of his past life he was little more than a figurehead. He was only ever given the illusion of control. He was the sole male heir, but given his rocky upbringing he didn't have the drive or the focus to lead the family head on. Not without his sister pulling the strings. He and his sister often relied on each other as children, but in the back of his mind he resented her, for all the preferential treatment she got from their grandmother. So he lashed out in anger, any way that he could.
The break, as I'll call it, happened after they were resurrected as demons. There was a period of around a century where they parted ways, and had very little contact. It was at the end of this century-long period when Lucca, out on his own, met a young woman living in the French countryside. He was still working through the ranks as a crossroads demon, collecting souls he bargained for during another breakout of the plague. She made a contract with the demon Lucca to cleanse her village, and he fulfilled his half of the bargain. Little did either of them know that, as time led on, they would eventually fall in love with one another.
It was this kindness, this hope in the place of hopelessness, when everything else seemed futile as she was bound by the contract, that made Lucca act on his own to break the contract he himself had created, to save her life. But a demonic contract, especially one that dictates ownership of one's soul, and no less a mortal, cannot be undone. Not unless he willed the powers of the cosmos, the four horsemen or of God Himself. So, he did the only thing he could think of. He took her, and they ran.
This was not allowed. Whether or not Lucca closed the contract himself, Hell was still owed a soul. So, the lords of the fifth and the ninth circles sent out their best hunters, to track them down and drag him back for trial, for failing to uphold their laws.
When the hunters found them, they didn't make it quick. They separated them, pinning Lucca face-down to the ground with a series of iron stakes, etched with Enochian runes. They made him unable to move as they took their sweet time torturing her in front of him, all but forcing him to watch, and listen. They even took his left horn as a prize, breaking the bone off at the stem with their bare hands as he howled in pain. Blood pouring down his face, blurring his vision, misting over red with rage... and yet unable to do anything to protect the one person he had set out to save. His mind went blank. That, and the events that followed, were what began his trickling descent into madness, and giving into despair. It was when he began to feed into his wrath without care or remorse, and lost what little sense of self he had left. He was broken.
Luna didn't know any of what transpired, or what he was made to suffer until after he was on trial, and she spoke in his defense. It wasn't something she planned: she only heard of the trial through a series of whispers that had reached her ear, and sprinted down the ninth circle as fast as she could. Because for all their differences, all their misgivings towards each other: they were still family. She still felt it in herself to look after him, like she had when they were children. It didn't matter how much time had passed. It wasn't just her responsibility towards him that spurred her on... He was her brother. Her flesh and blood. She didn't want to miss her last chance to defend him, to save him from being assimilated into the flames, and burned until he was nothing but ash.
She only had good intentions. But she didn't take into account what he wanted. He wanted the judge to lay down the final sentence, and let him walk into the flames. But Luna had prevented that from happening. She spoke up in his defense, and thus the judge lightened the sentence to imprisonment. And that, as his mind was already unraveling, twisting horrid visions and scratching at the inside of his skull... that was the moment all of his hatred, all of his rage, fell back and fixated on her. She had meddled in his life, again. She was controlling him, again. She just had to be perfect, didn't she? She had everything, when whatever happiness he grasped at kept on slipping through his fingers.
He was changed. She didn't see it then, but the brother she once knew was long gone. Just a sad, hollow shell, consumed by grief. Now, the perfect killing machine, fueled by wrath. Beholden to no creed, no oath, no man. He was a berserker. The lords passing judgement over him realized this, and lessened his sentence to imprisonment for their own purposes. He was now their attack dog, kept on short leash. They continue to keep him isolated down the ninth circle, only to be released when they have a problem too big to handle on their own. His isolation only feeds into his growing madness, endlessly fixating on the people who wronged him, the horrors he witnessed... but most of all, blaming his sister for not letting him end it all. The lords won't let him die so long as he is of use to them, subjecting him to a fate worse than death. Wherein death, he could at least join the woman he loved.
... Now, if brought up as a topic of conservation, Luna will not mention her brother. Rather, she will refer to him in the past tense, because the brother she knew died that day. And she knows that, if they ever cross paths again, if he is ever given sanction to be released out onto the surface, he will seek to destroy her. And that thought terrifies her.

Everyone went to Lucca’s house so Lucca and Janus could make adjustments to Glenn’s arm if they needed.
“So, where is the shell supposed to be?” asked Glenn once everyone was settled in.
Crono looked to Lucca and asked, “I don’t suppose you have any old maps from Glenn’s time, do you?”
“I might,” Lucca replied. “I’ll go check.”
Lucca returned several minutes later with a few history books. Opening one up, she showed Crono a world map. “It’s from a half century before but does it help?”
Crono looked at the map and pointed to a large island north of the eastern continent.
“Pretty sure he said it was here,” he noted. “I remember the map he showed me had a large island by a cape.”
Glenn glanced at the map. Looking at the cape just south of the island Crono was pointing to, he felt his heart start to pound. The island was north of Choras. For him it had been nearly three decades since Ozzie’s forces had burned his home to the ground but the memories of that day were still clear in his mind.
“That island… it’s north of my homeland,” Glenn suddenly said. He pointed to the small town in the map.
“Cyrus and I grew up there… in Choras,” Glenn continued. “Our families had been there since it’s founding… until…”
“Until?”
Glenn closed his eyes and sighed. He hated to remember that day but after so long with the group, he knew they deserved the whole story.
“Until the day Ozzie rallied the Mystics into a single force and razed the town,” Glenn said. “Before that the Mystics were considered a minor threat by most people. Scary monsters and demons that stayed in the forests.”
“I was just a child, maybe half Janus’s age,” he continued. “It was sunset when they attacked, setting fire to houses and chasing people, trying to herd people into the town square to kill everyone.”
Glenn continued his story, telling the group that Cyrus was the one who saved him when he was frozen in fear seeing his parents being overrun by the skeletons Ozzie created with his necromancy. That day, Cyrus and he had both lost everyone in their families. For Glenn it meant his parents and grandparents… aunts and cousins… for Cyrus, he lost his parents and his younger brother and sisters, everyone.
“I’ve always knew why Cyrus had such anger in his heart about the Mystics,” Glenn added. “We were the sole survivors of our families and he never wanted what happened in Choras to befall another soul…”
“I wanted to protect others too, of course and it’s easy to see the Mystics as monsters when you don’t consider they have lives and family as well,” he continued.
Ayla looked at Glenn and said, “Are you going to be okay being near your old tribe’s land?”
“Aside from getting ill from traveling there, I think I’ll be okay,” Glenn assured. “I hate to recall it and you’ve seen how well I handle things that remind me of that day, but I’ll manage.”
“If it makes you feel better… Choras was rebuilt a bit south of your hometown,” Lucca said. “It was like two or three hundred years ago, I’d have to look for the right history book to be sure.”
Glenn smiled slightly. It wasn’t his Choras but knowing the land was eventually recolonized did bring him small amount of happiness.
Later as everyone went over the plan and discussed what they’d need to explore the cave, Glenn found himself feeling frustrated and embarrassed as he tried to make the prosthetic do what he wanted. After what felt like the millionth attempt to pick up the empty cup in front of him, Glenn sighed and righted the cup with his right hand and sat back. He wanted to cross his arms but that felt awkward too.
Everyone exchanged glances but didn’t say anything. No one knew how to assure Glenn that his struggle wasn’t a big deal to them. Glenn was about to get up and storm out when he felt a gentle hand pat him on the shoulder. He looked up to see it was Lara.
“You’ll get use to the prosthetic with time if you keep using it,” Lara said reassuringly. “I had to relearn how to walk with my prosthetics and I still sometimes need a cane. I imagine a new hand is much harder but I know you’ll get it.”
Glenn sighed and smiled softly. It was reassuring to hear from Lara that she understood what he was going through. He wanted to make sure Lucca’s efforts were not in vain. After everyone was done eating, Glenn told the group that he felt it was best if he went back to Spekkio in the morning to learn how to use the arm more efficiently. He felt bad making them wait longer but everyone assured him that it was fine and they’d prepare everything else for going into the cavern.

asmodeus: you think you’re so high and mighty, better than the rest of us, but ... you are more wicked than any demon i know. and i know ‘em all.
ketch: at least i still have a soul.
asmodeus: what you think that buys you, huh? souls are messy, all conflict and confusion.
ketch: well, i know who i am.
asmodeus: do you? because you say you have ... this men of letters code, handed down for centuries. but wait. ... you work for me. you act like you’re this cold-blooded killer. but you know what i see when i look in your eyes? fear, and regret, and pain. i see your chewy middle, boy. you want redemption, but you ain’t never gonna get it. your kind — our kind — we can’t be redeemed. all we can do is spread our pain around. so no, you don’t know who you are, but i do. which is why no matter where you go, no matter what you do — you’re mine.
once again, big dean and jack vibes. perceived as a killer, so dean plays the part when deep down he’s in pain. jack belonging to a kind that are notorious for being feared and do not get to choose their fate. also, sam vibes in his struggle to escape the trauma lucifer left him with, and father lucca telling them how to be better than the imperfection of the world when it’s easier to give into our greed and misdeeds. and then the mention of a lack of soul — cas killing donatello because he was soulless and was ‘too corrupt,’ but dean tried to confront cas on why it’s not cas’ call. so, what makes ketch at all better than asmodeus for having a soul if they’ve both had twisted morals. plus, the empty vibes of just submitting to the darkness holding onto you. and finally, ketch’s ‘i know who i am’ moment — dean / cas have both been called out for a long while now about not really knowing who they are. which side they belonged to. where their loyalties lie. what their true sense of self is. i think it’s one of my favorite deancas parallels the show explores. anyway, the strong focus on redemption and identity this season, even for characters like ketch and rowena, is so great.
