John 14:15
Jesus said,“If you love Me, keep My commands."
That sums it all up. If we say we have faith in Jesus, if we claim to love Him, then we need to obey Him. There are many commands that really seem hard to follow. "Love your enemies", "Forgive as your heavenly Father forgives", "Flee fornication" , so on and so forth. But these are given for our good and for our safety. God is wise and He knows what is best for you. In His love He has given us these commands. When you respond in faith and obedience, you will inherit a blessing. When Noah obeyed and built an ark, he and his family were saved. Not only that he was considered righteous in the sight of God. (Hebrews 11:7)
Today, would you trust God enough to obey Him?

Good morning Children, Father Jim Defroque here with a uh.. bible verse. Give me a moment..
“ Do good, lend, and expect nothing in return and your reward will be great. “ - Luke 6:35
Now I want everyone to really think about this verse while giving donations to the church.

Prompt #3281
"Love gods," the villain cursed. "When I get my hands on them, I swear-"
"Oh, come on! Being in love with little old me isn't so bad."
"We're enemies! Arch enemies!"
The hero shrugged. "And now we're hopelessly in love. It makes a change of pace if nothing else."

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. —Deuteronomy 6:5
During the years I have taught the word to young adults, I've noticed that many of them seemed to have a basic belief in Jesus, but resisted following Him wholeheartedly. It's no wonder they struggled most with faith and were often frustrated with incorporating their faith into life. Others harboured resentment toward God for their life situations. But, a wholehearted faith with a desire to be all that God wants us to be and to do what God wants us to do—are daily choices each of us can and should make. Christian life is not easy. There are various trials, heartaches, and protracted periods of waiting. But, our most significant place of safety is walking wholeheartedly with the Lord, day-in and day-out.

We care more about our own hearts than we do about the heart of God. In Genesis 6:5-6 we are told that God looked at all the evil of humanity and “He was grieved in His heart” or “it broke His heart” as some translations put it. We rather break God’s heart than break our own heart. That’s how little most of us think of Him. Stop looking at your self-interests which will only last decades, or even a century if you’re spared for that long. Start looking at His interests and living for Him, so you may enjoy eternity in His kingdom. It is better to have your heart broken than to break God’s heart. Stop letting friendships, love interests, family, anyone, or anything, be more important to you than your commitment to God. No matter how many people shall abandon and forsake you, He never will (Deuteronomy 31:6).

The Greatest Commandment
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” 32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions. — Mark 12:28-34 | New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® Used by permission. “If we do not 'become the Scriptures,' then reading them will have been in vain.
Christ says the same thing in a different manner:
‘If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.’ (John 15:10)
In this saying, Christ reveals that the keeping of His commandments is a means of communion. It is not a legal or moral matter. Rather, keeping His commandments is a means of embodying Christ Himself. This is theosis in its most immediate form.
Understanding the commandments and the discipline of putting them into practice is a matter of communion.”
~Fr. Stephen Freeman, From The Ascetic Imperative - A Matter of Communion
