i AODRE pet semetary (1989) because the actor they cast to play gage is so undeniably cute that it was physically impossible for them to go about making him a scary villain/killer. that one scene where he’s like “here’s a gift for you, mommy” and he just pulls out a shiv—c’mon that’s adorable. no one can convince that movie isn’t just a more morbid version of like baby’s day out or something.

"We all lost our minds, Irwin."
Tumblr media
Dale Midkiff is a good actor. To me anyway. He's mainly in television movies so he isn't well known. I've seen some of the "Love" movies because I'm a fan of "Little House On the Prairie", and wanted to see what Michael Landon, Jr. had in store. They were decent but nothing remarkable. "Elvis & Me" was a big deal from what I've read and heard, but I don't care about watching it. The first time I remember seeing Dale was in "Time Trax" which I watched with my father every week. I didn't recognize him when he played Buck in "A Cry For Help", but the scene of him beating and maiming Nancy McKeon was engrained in my brain. Buck was pure feral. After finding it on Youtube as an adult and watching it again, I considered Dale Midkiff as a very underrated actor.
Tumblr media
Many people may not know Dale Midkiff by name, but many people have seen "Pet Sematary". I tried to watch it every time it was aired on USA. I read the novel when I was eighteen. Since the film didn't explain much about him, it was pleasing to learn why Louis Creed acted so aloof. Unfortnately, most reviewers hate Dale Midkiff's performance. Some say he ruined an otherwise great film. "He was so wooden and always stared off in to space."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, he did tend to stare in to space. Leading men are usually expected to be charismatic. Louis Creed wasn't that type of man. He wasn't an action hero with clever one-liners. He was a dull person. Wooden. The novel explained that Louis was a secretive person prior to burying Church. The best way to be secretive is keeping things to yourself. That includes controlling those facial expressions. Louis also never wanted to acknowledge the supernatural.
Tumblr media
An example would be the scene of Louis following Jud to the Micmac burial ground, and he hears the demon making noises in the woods. Louis nonchalantly inquires about the sound instead of looking all around him with fear in his eyes. As the two climb the rocks leading to the burial ground, he becomes irritated with Jud and even snaps at him when they reach the summit because he thinks their hike is ridiculous. Louis refused to see there was something abnormal going on.
Tumblr media
After burying Church, Louis's mind was taken over by the demon, The Wendigo, who haunted the woods. King included the evil spirit in a draft script written in 1986. Just like the novel, Jud explained to Louis how The Wendigo was responsible for contaminating the soil of the burial ground, and it played tricks on its victim's mind. The Wendigo even appeared to Louis when he takes Gage's corpse through the woods. Budget constraints cut out the idea of creating the gigantic demon. Although, erasing Jud 's talk of The Wendigo hurt the film. "The ground turned sour." Why though? What's with the hallucinations Rachel and Louis experienced? Why did Jud take Louis to use the burial ground? Why did Louis use it on Rachel after all the carnage? Removing The Wendigo caused the movie to not make sense.
Tumblr media
The emotions spilled out as the film reached its conclusion. You can't say Dale Midkiff seemed wooden after he discovers his resurrected son stole his scapel. Louis kept crumbling more and more with each step he took. Dale Midkiff wasn't a terrible actor in "Pet Sematary". He just played a bland character who was only intriguing when he lost his mind at the very end.

More AC rogue screenshots
Currently trying to get full sync on all the missions, here are some new screenshots (and some old ones)
Bless him, he looks so annoyed 🙏🏻🖤
Tumblr media
I can´t fucking remember how to spell out his whole name I literally have to copy it from somewhere else every time I wanna write it.
Tumblr media
WHY DO THEY ALL LOOK SO CONCERNED?! Like... Chevalier looks so confused by the fact that he just killed somebody.
Tumblr media
I also wanna talk about the fact that during my first playthrough, I hated him. Which I think was intendet lol. But then I read fanfiction where he was actually nice AND LOOK AT HIM TAKING CARE OF HIS MEN! I actually really like him, he´s just a bit mean sometimes.
Tumblr media
But look how pretty this is and I really love Chevalier´s outfit! The only two things I have to complain about him is that he can be a bit mean and the fact that the fight against him during my first playthrough was the most boring fight ever. Like, back then I was excited to kill him, but he died from two pistol shots. The guy I had to kill before getting to him had put up a harder fight.
Tumblr media
More random old Shay because he´s hot lmao I´m actually really excited to play Unity, even though my friend wants me to play Syndicate first. Sorry @cnmnqirl 🖤🥺
Tumblr media
Have I already shared this one? I can´t remember but look at him 🖤🙏🏻

"You are dreaming if you think any training could make you into a proper Assassin! Do you even know what that means?? It means being responsible for an ancient and proud tradition! It means obeying your Mentor without question! How else will we ensure freedom for the human race?!".

Just a random idea that came from the AC Unity posts but what about Desmond as Marie Antoinette, France's most hated dauphin? Like Desmond in Cantarella, he is surrounded by Templars but this time it is in the middle of a court that seeks to remove him from the throne by any means, at any cost. And Desmond, as in Cantarella, can choose to run away from all this (toward Connor in the colonies) or play the game in which he is inside to avoid a massacre.
(Now, I don't remember much about AC Unity but I do know that Marie birth was in 1755 and came to court at eighteen, which would make her canonically four years older than Arno but only one year older than Connor, which is a long time, for whatever plan Desmond has after the shock of being born again.)
So the Templar and Assassin presence in Austria and the Holy Roman Empire are a bit vague, especially during Marie Antoinette's time growing up so we can play around with that aspect.
Although...
Desmond probably only heard of Marie Antoinette in passing. She mostly knows her as the ‘let them eat cake’ bitch and holy shit, there was no way she was going to be her, especially since she did watch Kirsten Dunst’s Marie Antoinette (he was bored, okay?) so yeah, definitely didn’t want to part of all of that.
Desmond tries to appear not that interesting, making people whisper that she’s lazy but brilliant as she knows Latin, Italian and French (thanks, Ezio).
Her beauty is also marred by the fact that she doesn’t like to wear those restrictive women's clothes. She’s fine wearing dresses, she’s not fine wearing stuff that impedes her movements.
This, unfortunately, meant that they’re forced to make clothes that would be beautiful but not restrictive just so Desmond would wear them to balls and important events that needed her presence.
She doesn’t even understand why they needed her to do any of these. She’s the youngest, shouldn’t she be more or less worthless in the eyes of the royal family?
What she doesn’t realize is that her beauty and brains made her interesting. And having the Bleeds of Haytham Kenway and Ezio Auditore meant she could be graceful if she wanted to, meaning that, if one was simply to turn a blind eye on her ‘laziness’ and her ‘strange musings’, she is certainly one of the most promising young noble ladies of her generation.
Because of this, she gets the attention of Louis XV who wants her to become the future wife of his grandson, Louis XVI.
History finally gets royally fucked up when the announcement of Desmond’s marriage to Louis XVI becomes public when she is just freaking 14.
So, out of desperation because there is no way in freaking hell she was going to marry some dude at 14...
Also… childbirth? Nopenopenopenope. She just got used to the whole monthly bleeding thing. The idea of giving birth frightens her more than burning from the inside again...
She runs away.
Now…
At this point, she didn’t have any allies nor any actual plan like Giovanni!Desmond did in Cantarella.
What she did have was the skills of three Master Assassins and one Grand Templar so Desmond ran away in the middle of the night, more reminiscent of his running away from the Farm to be completely honest.
She pretends to be a boy which wasn’t that hard at the moment because she was still growing and gets into a ship bound for the colonies where, she hopes, she’d be able to find Ratonhnhaké:ton.
… Not knowing the huge scandal she would be making by disappearing in the middle of the night.
And how this entire thing could spell a disaster in France and Austria’s future since her marriage had been one of the conditions for an alliance between the two.
Unorganized Ideas:
She pretends to be a dude but she’s really pretty. Becomes harder once her growth spurt truly starts
She meets up with Ratonhnhaké:ton in Davenport Homestead after Ratonhnhaké:ton’s whole ‘arrested because white people, man’ shit in Boston. They grow up to be more or less partners.
Achilles thinks she’s a runaway daughter of an Assassin (which is technically true) and a part of him wonders if she may not be related to John de la Tour (maybe even his granddaughter?) because she makes offhanded comments about France.
The missing Marie Antoinette becomes the French/British version of ‘Anatasia Romanov lives’ rumors. No one thinks it’s Desmond though.
Except for one person who had seen a portrait of the young Marie Antoinette once… Marquis de La Fayette.
Haytham believes Desmond is his son’s beau (and, later on, wife). He is not the first to believe that and Ratonhnhaké:ton and Desmond had stopped trying to correct people and just let them think whatever they want.
Desmond does milk it a bit, calling Ratonhnhaké:ton ‘my dearest’. Ratonhnhaké:ton simply goes along with it because Desmond had always been strange even by white men standards.
Ratonhnhaké:ton knew Desmond was a girl from the beginning, he just didn’t make a big deal about it. This made Desmond believe that Ratonhnhaké:ton never realized she was a girl until she started ‘filling out’.

“D, come on. It's wash day,” Louis whispers as he shakes the man awake.
A groan comes from the man as he flops on his back, “Can't I just watch Donny feel you up all day?”
“I'm with that,” comes Adonis’ voice from behind Louis.

I feel like “brat” (and by extension, “brat tamer”) is such a terrible bdsm term, especially as applied to fictional characters. It’s just so juvenile-sounding. You know what kind of characters *want* to act antagonistic until they’re eventually overpowered by the subject of their affections? That’s right, it’s the violent, dangerous ones. And *especially* the terrifyingly insane villains.
Are you telling me that Hannibal “Are you fantasizing about killing me?” Lector, who spends the entire series prodding Will into being a proper dom, should be called a *brat*? No. It’s an awful term that needs a better name.
