Merry Christmas- The CA State Library is closed today. 
This Newman Post Card Co. postcard shows poinsettias blooming on the Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles California in 1915. Poinsettias, or flor de nochebuena (Christmas Eve flower) as they're known in Mexico, were first cultivated by the Aztecs. U.S. diplomat Joel Roberts Poinsett brought the flowers to the US in the 1820's and now they are the quintessential Christmas flower. From our online catalog.
