“18th C. Pocket Puffer Blazer” by Jean Louie Castillo - “Sore Intentions” 2023
“Plucking inspiration from 18th Century suit jacket pockets (the shapes were familiar with the shape of cartoon silhouettes of bats) to blend in with my personal idea of a contemporary gothic garment. I harmonised formal and casual in a physical form that would suit London weather. It’s cold and it rains; PVC resists and puffer provides warmth. “

My Faves From The David Koma SS24 Collection Part 2
The green floral print pops against the black fabric. I also love the chain link detailing and cut outs on the black dress.

Something Borrowed, Something Renewed
Thrifting Vintage
Retro revival has taken to the runways and the streets of London. Brick Lane to Portobello Green, the UK capital is the perfect place to shop vintage.
With the 2023 MET Gala theme being Karl Lagerfeld: A line of Beauty, many celebrities wore vintage Lagerfeld pieces, bringing a sustainable take to what is the biggest night in Fashion. Londoner Dua Lipa wore a tweed Channel gown, worn by Claudia Schiffer in Channel’s A/W ‘92 show.
A focus on minimalist elements of the late 90s, such as sleek tailoring and satin slips, have woven themselves into the trends of 2023. A rise in popularity in London’s vintage scene has only served to augment the resurgence of 90s fashion, allowing Londoners not only to find unique pieces to help define their style but also collect genuine pieces of the decade.
