I absolutely love the continuing joke of “Fire, Water, Earth” brought to life in Burrow’s End. It’s such a good bit, one that transcends specific series and instead centers itself on a group of friends.
That being said, I’ve seen multiple people begin to predict who is gonna be air. I figured I’d throw my hat into the ring.
First of all, though I love him as a DM, it’s not gonna be Murph. This joke in particular centers around people who are intertwined with both CR and D20. And, as much as I love him, Murph is not that guy. I have no doubt that he’s at least friendly with the Critical Role cast but it’s obvious that he’s closer with Brennan then he is with Aabria or Matt.
So if I had to make a guess, it probably be Spencer. Not only is he involved in CR related content (Candela), he is good friends with both Brennan and Aabria. I’m fairly certain that he was part of a private campaign that involved Matt, Brennan and Aabria.
Something else that I’ll throw out, is that the next time we see the joke, it will probably be during an new season of EXU. I have no insight on when the next campaign of EXU will come out, but I have a fairly strong suspicion that Spencer would be the one Dming it. And that is where we will find our missing joke.
Speaking of, this is off topic. But if anyone feels like drawing Brennan, Matt and Aabria as Fire, Water and Earth Gensai respectively, I will love you forever. Please.

Absolutely fascinating social phenomenon that every year on sept 11 following 2001 for YEARS we replayed extremely graphic footage of the event all day in schools with little to no actually teachable context for the students who were too young to remember it, unintentionally creating these odd aftershocks of trauma for people who weren't alive for it.......compared to today where the hot topic in school is banning books deemed """"inappropriate"""" for kids
Another fascinating phenomenon I've noticed just this year is that lot of people too young to remember for some reason seem absolutely SHOCKED that yes we actually did see everything happen live in front of our eyes as it happened and remember it clear as day, which fascinates me because I know a lot of them are old enough to have experienced the first phenomenon and if anything I would have thought we're MORE plugged into catastrophe as it happens with social media and cameras in every pocket on every street around the world. The only thing I can think of is we lost that unity in broadcast journalism and now they can't wrap their heads around it??

As an archivist, thinking about the right to be forgotten in a specifically archival context, and the idea that not everyone wants their stories or their records to be made available to anyone/for everyone; that often, what a community judges to be the best preservation for their own histories and culture is not what is beneficial to outsiders, especially outside academics.
More specifically, thinking about this in the context of Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/The Silmarillion/other Legendarium books as “historical” texts. Thinking about maybe the “authors” not writing everything down because they understand the power of stories and how the telling of a thing grants a certain power over it, over how it is known and spread, and positions the teller as a figure of authority over what (and who) is depicted.
We already know that Bilbo is an unreliable narrator, that he changes things and leaves things out. There were a few posts and fics years ago, when the Hobbit movies came out, about Bilbo befriending a young Estel in Rivendell and deliberately leaving that out of his stories at Gandalf/Elrond’s request. What other things might he have left out, perhaps, out of respect for his friends in the Company and their desire to keep their culture and language private and closed?
Pengolodh compiling the Annals of Beleriand from which came the greater part of The Silmarillion - but he was in Gondolin for much of the First Age, and would have had to rely on other sources to give an account of the rest of Beleriand. Who did he talk to? What might they have said and not said, and what might they have requested he include or keep out?
Anyways, the Legendarium as an archive, something actively created and shaped by the different people in and around it, who both added things and left things out unintentionally or by design or on request.

I wish I lived in a world where I could lead a simple life just making art and cultivating community but instead I have to live in this capitalist hell where people working 40+ hours a week are barely able to make ends meet.
I wish I lived in a world where I could just pursue one thing for my whole life but instead I live in a world that has brought me to the point where I, a people pleaser with social anxiety and self worth issues feel as though I could try to lead an actual movement to pressure the governments of the world to actually represent and take care of their people.
broadly, I would say I am a pacifist, but if I need to get blood on my hands to alleviate the suffering of billions, then I will.

The preaching of the gospel, the good news, God's word is the only antidote that God has prescribed regarding this world. He gave his Son. The Son gave his life. By way of our belief in the gospel of Christ, he save and deliver us from this present evil world.
The Son did not come starting programs, beginning a political party, or any other thing. He came preaching and teaching the kingdom. He came preaching and teaching the time to come. He came preaching hope, belief, and faith in God; that if we believe and receive the kingdom of God, we will be there in that world to come. (He's going to destroy this one.)
The gospel is for the purpose of calling people out of this world. The gospel, good news, or God's word is for the purpose of stopping the the works of Satan. The preaching of the Word of God torments devils. The preaching of the Word has become my hope.
However, despite the supremacy of God's word, in this age of the Church, the word of God is not going to appeal to the Church. 📜 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; [4] and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. - II Timothy 4:3-4 It is therefore going to take for us to INDIVIDUALLY respond to God. In this age of the Church, it will not be a corporate turning unto God to take heed to, believe in, and for the hearing of God's word. 📜Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. - Revelation 3:20
📖 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. [22] And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. [23] Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, [24] saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” [25] But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” [26] And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. - Mark 1:21-26
📖 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. - I John 4:4
📖 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. - I John 3:8
📖 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. [22] “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” - Revelation 3:21-22
📖 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. - Revelation 21:1
