Because Brook and Yorki had a heartbreaking goodbye, and Brook spent 50 years mourning, but now he has a second chance. He wasn't expecting anything, but then, lo and behold! A handsome, kind, capable fish man enters stage right, and Brook is smitten. Here is someone who understands the grief of losing a captian and partner, then having to take their place to hold the crew together, but ultimately watching thier crew fall apart or suffer due to factors outside their control.

For Jimbei the last few years have been a whirlwind of chaos. He was looking forward to a new adventure full of chaos of his own making and choices. Now, enter stage left, this fantastic, enigmatic, adorable skeleton (and he's a musician!), who is a wonderful presence on a ship full of younger pirates. Jimbei never really moved on from the loss of the Sun Pirates, and hasn't had time to mourn all the friends he's lost in the past few years. But now he finds companionship and comfort in Brook. Someone who doesn't expect him to move on, let's him reminisce, but keeps him from getting stuck in his mourning. He's never thought of romance seriously before, but now he finds himself wanting.

The two meet in the middle, center stage on a ship of dreams as they forge a new one together. They still keep and work towards their individual dreams but find pieces of each other in them. Brook looks forward to the day he can introduce Laboon to Jimbei, and Jimbei has promised to translate the whale's words for Brook. Jimbei will see freedom for his people and finds motivation in every new song Brook writes and story he tells. Together, they find peace, calm, and rest. They find excitement, companionship, and a harbour in the other after years of storms.

Reverse AU: The Good Guys

Fiona is the Ladybug for this AU. Haven't come up with a name for her yet.

Blake is the Chat Noir for this AU. Also doesn't have a hero name yet.

They stay platonic though. Fiona's still got something going on with Keagan. While Blake sees Fiona as even more like a sister to him since he got separated from Blair and Fiona is the most sister coded person he's stuck with for prolonged periods of time.

It doesn't help that they started off as a team of four with the Aurelio cousins dropping in as an akuma and as a Butterfly rather than as a duo, so their relationship never got to be as intimate as ShizuBlair's version of the LadyNoir partnership.

Keagan is still kind of an investigative reporter. However, there's now more emphasis on him being the rich mayor's son. He pretends to be a dumb hedonistic party guy with no talent for fencing. Little do the Supreme know, he's Lorelei's go-to combat akuma and is a hacker for the Resistance.

Lorelei is the big good, current head of the Resistance. She descended from a long line of people running the Resistance, all the way back to Adrinette.

Initially, it was just her, a few of her friends (her husband who died so she could escape with her secrets, Mrs. Liung and grandma Hisui), her son Leo, and her nephew Keagan who found a way to contact them discreetly.

Fiona joined in, lead to the group by Keagan. Keagan was initially just trying to convince Fiona to stay away from certain people so her family doesn't get pocketed by the Supreme (like his is) or worse, recruit her (like a certain bodyguard keeping tabs on him). He's doing what he could to prevent the Supreme from getting any more powerful.

But one thing led to another and Lorelei decides this girl had what it takes to be the next Ladybug (instead of her son, whom she'd rather stay safe and away from the front lines as the next Butterfly).

Blake joined in a couple of years before Fiona. Its cause he overheard Mrs. Liung talking to Lorelei, who can't get in contact with the rising model Blair. They can't reach her no matter how many strings they pulled, which is really saying something as one was a former celebrity and the other is the mayor's sister-in-law. They suspect the Supreme had something to do with it. This is why Blake joined the Resistance.

Mrs. Liung couldn't talk him out beyond getting trained first before jumping into the field. There's that and the Supreme tried to get rid of them and framed it as the Resistance's doing, so now they had no choice but to fight back and hidevwith the resistance.

Mr. and Mrs. Crawford were also members of the Resistance until they got caught and were snuffed out... yeah, Blake has plenty of reasons to be angry at the Supreme here and its why he's a bigger grouch in this au than in the main mlb au.

Grandma Hisui (real name: Haruji Tate) was one of the kids the Resistance saved from the Supreme, hence, why the Turtle Miraculous is with them. She left her daughter behind in Japan thinking she'd be safe there. Little did she know, the Supreme had influence there too, through the Tsurugis.

Some people are helping the Resistance but not on a regular basis. The Hale Clinic patches them up during the period when they didn't have a Ladybug. The Guerreros were one of the few rich families who heeded their warning and saw how horrible a deal with the Supreme is. So in gratitude, they let them hide in their property owned by their real estate business. Talia and Damien, being from those families the resistance helped, helps them out whenever they could.

Vincent Liung may be the turtle in this AU, trained by Hisui.

That's about it on everyone actively supporting the Resistance for now.

Sleep position/behavior headcanon jumpscare!!

Riddle: Always goes to sleep laying very straight and proper. Always wakes up off to the side and/or curled around a pillow or something

Trey: Doesn't matter how he sleeps, he snores like a dad either way

Ace: One leg off the bed at least

Deuce: NEVER any limbs off the bed, what if something gets him?? He thinks Ace is actually insane for letting his legs just dangle out in the cold

Ruggie: Sleeps better propped up/lounging than he does fully laying down

Azul: Fetal position 1000%, catch him small and compact and under a weighted blanket

Jade: Scary still, like makes you question if he's even breathing. Arms by his sides, pretty standard. I hc that he he's a very light sleeper and any movement near him will have his eyes wide open and he's just Looking at you with his signature Jade expression like he was awake the whole time???

It happens so rarely... normally when my son wants breakfast he just asks me to make it. The other morning he asked and I came out to find everything needed laid out on the bench. This morning I was sitting in the liunge catching up on tumblr when I heard the toaster pop twice. Got up when he came into the lounge and looked at me, and I could smell toast.

Came out to find he'd already put the bread and box of weet-bix away, but left on the bench his yogurt, milk, packet of oatmeal, the butter and vegemite. He'd crushed up his weet-bix. There was toast for him and toast for me. The only thing left was for me to put the spreads on and add the oatmeal and milk to his weet-bix.

By the time I'd done that and came back to the lounge, he'd put his seat cushion back on his chair so I could sit comfortably in it while I helped feed him his cereal. (Kiddo can get a spoon from his bowl to his mouth but struggles to get food on the spoon, so he needs one of us to help or he just won't eat) He ate quite quickly this morning, so he must have been hungry.

8am woke up coyguing heavily the fan blew my coughs right back to me and made me worse. Only when i got into the liunge and sat on sofa is went away like that. Terrible to wake up coguhing tho. Feels like most of it is behind me now. Also took scoop of peanut butter as soon as i woke then had kombucha and coconut wster..

Yesterday i found a really cool warm channel on everything healthy and gym and supplements.. Its like renaissance ... (And yesterday i went to the bathroom again which means 4 dsys in a row i hàd stools. Crazy. Never happens. ?)

This week on my Reverse AU OC portrait series, I'm using Blake to study how to do leather. Leather is such a complicated material to work with, its supposed to be so reflective hence the more intense highlights in his jacket compared to how I did Shizuke's black shirt and Blair's romper. There's also the contrast in rendering black fur compared to Blair's white fur coat. Rendering black in general is a whole different thought excersise compared to the whites on Shizuke and Blair.

Introducing the black cat for my OC's reverse AU, Blake Crawford! Compared to Blair's ring, his silver ring has an orangey tint, a referrence to how he's the fox in the original timeline. The inspiration to tie his hair back is from Attack on Titan's Eren, for the depressing edgyness. Unlike Fiona who's design took some cues from Ladybugs (Marinette and Bridgette), Blake's inner clothes is based on Nathanael's akuma form, Evillustrator. It's cause his original design takes cues from Nathanael. The reason for the aversion to referrencing Adrien and/or Felix is, other than their outfits just aren't very edgy emo, it's to signal he isn't supposed to be seen as a love interest for his Ladybug partner. I wanted there to be something of a hint with his role despite being the black cat. Instead of paralleling Fiona, his outfit parallel's Blair's more. The black fur lining and an oversized black jacket, the white (light gray) shirt underneath, the way his hair is parted, the stripes, the round details... I picked him to be the black cat so he can be more active with his arc where he's looking for his sister.

Why are the twins separated?

Much like in the original, he and Blair lost their parents and got separated because of the foster system. Blair ended up with their abusive relatives while Blake ended up with the Liungs... except they never got Blair back. It's too late by the time they found out those relatives sold Blair off to the Supreme.

Blake tried everything he could to reach his sister but the Supreme blocked him every time - she's their newest little child soldier, they still had use for her. Eventually, there was an attempt on his and the Liungs' lives. The only reason they survived was because the Resistance saved them.

There, Blake learned everything. His parents and the Liungs were members of the Resistance. Mrs. Liung, the only one left alive, stayed in contact with the Resistance despite semi retiring to focus on helping him get Blair back - it's the least she could've done for her fallen friends and husband. Yet they can't reach her no matter how many strings they pulled, which is really saying something as Mrs. Liung was a former celebrity and her strongest string is the Resistance Leader, Lorelei, who is the mayor's sister-in-law. They suspect the Supreme had something to do with it.

So to tally, the Supreme has: killed his parents, killed Mr. Liung, abducted his sister, tried to get him and the Liungs killed... Blake has plenty to be mad about. This is why Blake joined the Resistance.

At first, Blake was obsessed with taking down the Supreme for taking everything from him. He fought them from the shadows. He takes out his anger on their goons for getting in his way. It doesn't matter what they throw at him, he will destroy them all... This went on for years.

But alas, Blake is still young. After years of fighting the Supreme, things are looking more and more futile. He grew tired, both emotionally and physically. He was always fighting, always hiding, making sure the Supreme doesn't catch wind of both Blake surviving or the new black cat on the prowl... the stalemate was taking its toll on him. Nothing seems to be changing.

That is until Keagan brought a girl to their base.

It was a mistake, the fallen prince said. But Lorelei saw something in the girl and declared her the new Ladybug, his partner. The time to fight in the light has come.

Not long after this, the Supreme called in reinforcements to crush the Resistance. First was the infamous Ox-wielding Miraculous hunter they've imported from Japan. Second was their shiny new-bee who's brimming with potential... Blake's sister.

Today I’m continuing to catch up on WoW OC backlog with DA GIRL. This is Masei Liung, and she’s a black dragon who was purified by the earth and fire spirits of the Wandering Isle, and raised by a caring Pandaren family.

She’s smart, kind, strong, and aro/ace AF. Very naive about romance and especially anything sexual, it ALL goes over her head. All the time. This leads to some great awkward comedy. Literally live for people trying and failing to explain a concept to someone, suddenly worried about ruining their innocence.

what an actually helpful quitting smoking ad might be: hi, I smoke cigarettes. they taste like...pretty bad. they smell almost good but still kinda bad? I really wish I wasn't constantly having to go out into whatever hellweather we're having just to smoke. I mean, do they make me feel good? not really....like, they make my mouth taste flat and my spit is always so thick and gross not only after I'm smoking, but also while I'm smoking, but it's so hard to drink water while youre smoking. it's so annoying to do anything in general when you have to make sure you're not burning yourself or dropping your cigarette. and I'm always like kinda tired afterwards and I don't breathe as well. like, it just kinda sucks, y'know?

most likely reaction from me and other smokers after that: yeah I get pretty much no enjoyment from cigarettes at all, it's just a habit, and one that kinda makes me feel bad in my every day, I'm gonna stay inside for a bit and try not to think about cigs
