#Like who told these studios that adults don't like seeing pretty things

ok. i can't even read the rest of the list and i imagine there will be other requests for it but... What do you mean, the raccoon stole the ring you planned to propose with? - Willex.
Also for @floating-in-the-blue who did indeed request the same thing and lbr, I put that there as Willex bait.
"What do you mean, you lost the ring?" Julie asked incredulously.
"I mean I lost it!" Alex said, pacing back and forth, back and forth in the studio. "I did something stupid and I lost it and now Willie is never going to marry me because I'm stupid and reckless and-"
"Okay first of all, calm down," Flynn said. "If anyone is into Stupid and Reckless, it's Willie. Didn't you two ride a shopping cart down a hill on your second date?"
"Third," Alex pouted.
"Dude, where did you lose it, we'll help you look," Luke offered. "Or like if you left it in your pocket while doing laundry, we'll... I dunno, as an adultier adult about finding a plumber."
"Oh no it's way worse than that," Reggie piped up, and Alex shot him a glare.
"Shut up this is half your fault."
"Oh, now I know it will be good," Flynn said, leaning forward.
"So you know how we always joke that Willie is secretly a raccoon in human form?" Reggie started, sounding way too cheerful for Alex' liking. He groaned, flopping pathetically onto the rug next to Julie's chair. She patted his head in only mild condescension. Which would soon be full-blown condescension when she learned how stupid he was.
"Yes?" Flynn asked, eager.
"Well, we thought it would be funny to get a picture of Alex proposing to a real raccoon. You know, to post online after Willie said yes."
It would have been funny. Willie would have thought it was hilarious. He didn't like posting pictures of himself on social media, after so long being a photo prop for his rich foster dad, but Alex kind of wanted something to obnoxiously put online because he knew his mom still stalked his socials from time to time.
"So we went over to that pizza place, you know the one, because there's usually some raccoons hanging out behind it near the dumpsters. And we found one and lured it with some marshmallows, and then Alex got out the ring to propose, and I got a few shots, but just as I was lining up the perfect angle..."
"It grabbed the ring and took off," Alex finished miserably.
"We tried to get it back but... raccoons are fast when they want to be!" Reggie shrugged. "I took a video, though. You know, so maybe we could identify the raccoon later and try again."
He was pretty sure Reggie took a video to lord over him forever, because the sight of Alex chasing a raccoon around a parking lot and then begging and waving marshmallows at it at the bottom of a telephone pole was kind of pathetic and something that could be used as blackmail.
"So the raccoon stole the ring you were going to propose with," Julie said, slowly, so slowly. Like she was judging him. Which was fair. Alex was judging himself. On the couch, the sound of Luke and Flynn stifling laughter made everything a million times worse.
"What do you mean the raccoon stole the ring you planned to propose with?" A new voice asked from the door opening.
Alex looked up, wishing the earth would swallow him whole. "Willie," he said, his voice high pitched and creaky. "Hi! Um. I can explain."
"I think I got the gist of it," Willie said, his eyes sparkling and dancing with mirth.
"I'm so, so, so sorry," Alex said. "I thought you'd find it funny!"
"Oh trust me, I do," Willie said, moving to pull him up from his miserable lump on the ground. "And I'm going to want to see that video later," he told Reggie.
"Please no," Alex whined, even though Reggie was totally going to plug it into the big TV in the house so everyone could enjoy it, probably.
"Don't worry about it, Hotdog," Willie soothed, pulling him into a hug. Alex hid his face in his shoulder, letting the feel of his boyfriend's arms around him calm him down a little. Even when everything was shit, he always felt a little better in Willie's arms.
"I lost your engagement ring over trying to make a funny meme," he pointed out.
"Well," Willie said, pulling away. Before Alex knew what was happening, he got down on one knee in front of him, pulling a ring out of his back pocket. "It's a good thing I still have mine, then. Alex Mercer, will you marry me?"

This is a small series I made for nothing but enjoyment
Notes:I don't own twisted wonderland or it's characters
this is just my interpretation of how they'd be they belong to Yana Toboso and Disney
Reader is gender neutral, some of these are kind of short, this one is with a reader who's an adult reader has different jobs because why not? Mozus trein won't be in this edition but I might make one for him eventually
Warnings:depression implication
How the staff comforts you after a bad day
Divus Crewel
Tumblr media
Divus felt quite lucky to be the partner to one of the worlds best designers at least in his opinion
Divus went to go see you after work but to his surprise you weren't in your studio
He tried to call you but you weren't picking up and he knew something wasn't right
There was one other place you could be so he drove to your home
He got in using the key under the mat and looked for you until he heard sobbing upstairs
Divus walked upstairs knocking calling for you until he heard "go away" and went inside
He found you under the blankets sobbing and the room was a mess with many sketches torn up or crumpled and right away Divus knew what was wrong
He gently pried the blanket away asking if you were experiencing a bit of a block
Looking up at him with red tear stained eyes you nodded before he embraced you telling you it was alright to not know what to do next sometimes it happens to every great artist
And in his eyes you were nothing but the best, he dried your eyes making you some tea
Divus knows sometimes you need a break from trying to create
He makes sure after this incident to check on you more often just in case
Sam
Tumblr media
You happened to work for another school so your meeting times were limited
In any case he was ready to see you after a long day of work
He passed through the gates seeing many of your coworkers and students but there was no sign of you
He looked everywhere but he couldn't find you until he saw your pet rabbit
The rabbit looked at him as it asking him to follow
soon enough Sam was lead to where you stay and it was pretty dark and from what he could make out it was a mess
He saw you crying on your desk before he placed a hand on your shoulder
Sam asked what you what happened and understood once he heard your woes
You had to teach a bunch of kids who clearly were a bunch of deliquents and didn't know how to handle it much longer
They trashed your classroom, didn't pay attention to lessons and clearly your boss wasn't doing anything to help
It honestly ticked Sam off if he were to be honest
Sam took you in his arms promising you things would be fine before your rabbit jumped up snuggling you both
He may or may not have pulled some strings to get you transferred to Night Raven to work with him so that stress wouldn't be as heavy on you
Sam just cares a lot about you
Dire Crowley
Tumblr media
Believe it or not he isn't always useless at least not when it involves his partner, who so happened to be a gardener
Dire becomes concerned after you don't come to visit him for a few days
After this he went looking for you and he was horrified at what he saw
Your once beautiful garden that you were so proud of and loved was wilted and dying
Dire knew this wasn't normal, not for you he went to your home looking for you until he found you on the couch miserable
Dire asked you, why you looked like that and why your garden was dying when you were so proud of it
You told him how your just felt too much at once and even gardening didn't help when he wasn't there
Dire felt bad, of course he was in charge of a school but in the process he had forgotten to check on you when you were like this
He wiped your tears gently with his thumbs before taking your hands in his own and told you he'd help you get things back in order
This was enough to help you get out of bed and with that you got to work
By the end your garden was healthy again and in its center was a large beautiful apple tree
Dire enjoys gardening with his beloved among the flowers he finds them the fairest of them all
Ashton Vargas
Tumblr media
Ashton might be Vain but there is room in his heart for you and you so happened to be a Model was a bit of a bonus
Unfortunately you had been ignoring him as of late
He didn't get it, he was always in tip top shape so why were you ignoring him
Ashton went to see you and managed to intimidate your manager into letting him through only to find your dressing room trashed
Make up and perfume bottles smashed to pieces, clothes torn to shreds and your face was a mess from mascara and hot tears
He asked you what was wrong and what happened in there
You told him ,you couldn't take it anymore your job was very demanding and it was just too much for you
You barely had a sense of privacy thanks to your schedule
He felt awful he barely paid attention to you and this is what happened
Ashton hugged you tight and told you maybe you needed some time off away from the hustle of modeling clothes at least for a few days
He had a campsite set up with some things he thought you'd like including some stew he made
The best part would be when the stars come out and he keeps you close
Ashton knows he has to try better for you and he isn't a quitter

For the httyd questions!! 1, 6 and 9 maybe?
1: The first movie is what got me, but I didn't actually watch it until almost a year after release! I collected the mcdonalds toys (and pretended to be Toothless in my backyard?) but my parents would not splurge for me to see it in theaters so I had to wait and watch a copy online haha. To this day I will never forget the feeling I had watching Hiccup fall into the fire with Toothless diving after him for the first time. It was such an 'oh shit' moment of recognizing that I had never seen something that powerful? meaningful? important? in a movie before. I was very impressed that the studio had told a story catering to my interests and feelings. I guess that was the exact moment that started it all haha
6: So aside from my #1 hiccstrid which is probably the most common ship, of the canonish options I really loved when Ruffnut was pining after Eret in the second movie and I think they really compliment each other, since he's so level headed compared to her zaniness but also is a pretty loud boastful guy! And it would be funny if he got not only accidentally adopted into a new tribe but also accidentally adopted as a fiance at the same time haha. He'd be so confused but end up falling for her despite himself.
I can't see Ruff with the other boys, who had plenty of chances to woo her in RTTE and the second movie but were never right for her. Plus then they're free for fishlout <3 which is the real standout ship from RTTE for me. It does so much for both of their character development even with the canon crumbs we get. And if rufflegs has to be canon, then Snotlout should absolutely end up with Eret! His one-sided rivalry in THW screams "crush I don't know how to deal with"
A very unlikely ship of mine is Eret and Heather. I feel like they could go sooo well together, I've even considered going that route in my modern au but I think I'll probably stick to my rufferet roots? I guess I just keep shipping everyone with Eret, huh? I once had a dream that I was dating Kit Harington, maybe that's got something to do with it
9: Hiccup, always. I'm always aspiring to be Astrid, but really I'm not very much like her at all. As a kid I really related to him in the first movie due to his rocky relationship with a parent and his whole not fitting in thing. Now I really, really relate to him as an adult in the second and third movie. I don't want to get too deep, but like him the loss of that same parent was my cue to step up into new adult responsibilities, and I haven't really managed it. So I feel like I'm letting down my family if I continue to flounder, but also letting myself down if I settle into the role they want rather than running away on my own to find my own life. It feels very similar to his struggle between the tribe and the dragons. Fortunately I'm not really the chief of my family, so fingers crossed I'm able to get back on my feet soon and head out the door 🤞 I want the dragon life
Thanks for asking! I did sort of yap haha but when do I not

Soooo, I need some help, in the form of a reality check. Can you do a little analysis of ZeeNunew irl (if you even pay attention to that). My problem is this: I ship them! Not psychotically, but they are persistently in my brain (along with MaxNat, but I think thats just because Nat is such a physically perfect twink i just really wish he had a boyfriend. That and their upper thigh caresses during cutie pie reaction videos). The issue is that I am very...trusting?...easy to convince? So when I see videos or posts like "X and X boyfriends" or "Couple X being cute together" (which I generally don't watch, but some slip through) I'm like "oh that seems real" until someone else comes in w/the logic (ex you've mentioned Tul and Apo being confident w/a good background so they just fuck w/shippers and it made me realize i was just one of those dumb people who didn't get it at first.)
Part of the problem was I started watching BL pretty recently w/no background info on the genre,
and I'm not much of a behind-the-scenes watcher so it took a while for me to understand that the studios are promoting the ships, and the actors are ACTING, so therefore reasonable adults don't take the ship or irl flirting seriously. I had just assumed when they're not in the show they're being themselves, so, I dunno, I guess I just thought there were a lot of gay actors in Thailand or something.
I'm very embarrassed now, but I just didn't know. I don't follow celebrities but I feel like they don't do this in America so I just thought "it must be real!" Rather than "they're exploiting those poor babies"
I just get such shysweetloving vibes from them. I know Zee is great at adoring his partners, and Nunew responds so sweetly I just squee all over them, but I want to be a responsible fan and not do that. Help me out, give me external validation I'm just being stupid.
How to get over Thai BL Pair Branding
Tumblr media
Ah, they got ya, did they?
You shouldn't be embarrassed. They are actors, it's their job to persuade you to believe in an alt-reality, and this is some very insidious marketing tactics. Also it's pretty unique to Thailand. Also if you come from watching western cinema, we are used to Hollywood actors falling in love with each other and ending up in disastrous marriages from being on set together. It seems normal.
There are a few out gay actors in Thailand, but as yet there hasn't been any actual relationships to come from a BL. And if I were them and got into one, I would stay FIRMLY in the closet.
It's a little like buying that coffee drink because it looked good on IG and then being like, “oh, THIS is disgusting, I feel like an idiot.” Only with more emotional manipulation and not spending $8 on liquid sugar.
Not that I blame the actors! They are being told to do this, some of them are just better at it than others.
Frankly Max & Nat are better at cobranding because they have been together for so long. Sometimes you can see Zee & Nunew drop the act at the end of interviews when they are really tired.
I actually really don't like this aspect of BL, so I don't often watch things designed to encourage pair shipping (variety shows, bts, fanmeets).
I have the cure, ready?
Watch TharnType.
Then go on an internet deep dive about what happened to MewGulf.
Ta da!
You'll be cured.
Tumblr media
I have a few things written about this as a marketing tactic here:
Co-Branded BL Couples & Thai Studios - pairs and marketing tactics (written before ZeeNunew and intentionally avoiding MewGulf, PerthSaint, ZeeSaint and all the other catastrophes).
It's like learning how to read a label on a soap bottle or an ingredients list on food packaging, your eye will eventually get trained to see what's actually happening, but it takes a while.
I talk some more about pair branding, parasocial relationships, and why I really dislike IRL shipping here.
Here’s the bit where I got mad about skinship fantasies around misunderstandings of other cultures, especially Thailand.
Honestly there are many reasons I prefer to talk about characters, and narrative structures, and not actors.

Hey there! Could you tell me a little bit more about why you chose to start ballet as an adult, your experience, etc? I'm in my twenties and used to do ballet when I was little up until about ten. I'm a huge fan of ballet and have been following it seriously for years, but recently I've been thinking about starting adult classes myself and am pretty nervous. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks!!
P.S. I'm also curious to know if you've started pointe or if you want to?
HELLO! WE LOVE ADULT BALLET DANCERS!!!!!!!!!!
I started paying light attention to ballet in 2010 when I took my first Russian history class, however it wasn't until 2013 when I took a more in depth 20th century Russian history class where I fell in love with it. My professor told us that the Bolshoi was coming to where I live and recommended it to us, so I bought tickets for the only night I was free and I was disappointed with the cast because Albrecht was being danced by an American (David freaking Hallberg lmao). I had no idea who the dancers were and I barely knew the story of Giselle, but I went and omg fell in love. I was so lucky that my first live ballet performance was Svetlana Zakharova and David Hallberg! After that, I began watching as much ballet as possible and it's been the thing I watch the most ever since.
I never really thought about taking ballet classes until 2017 when I started seeing more adults taking ballet and finally decided to work up the courage to go to a local studio in 2018 to ask about adult classes and have never looked back. I now do two ballet classes and one contemporary class a week and those three days are the highlights of my week!
The awesome thing about adult ballet is no one is judgy and competitive. We are there to have fun, improve, and enjoy while still taking it seriously. I would look around at different studios (I found mine by googling adult ballet classes) and ask about their programs and levels. Before you go, I recommend watching a few classes on YouTube that go over basic steps like tendu, degage, rond de jambe, just so you're not completely lost when you go in, but that's not a requirement! Also, don't feel pressured to wear tights and a leotard if you don't want to. I wear them sometimes, but also wear leggings/shorts and workout shirts too, it doesn't really matter!
When it comes to pointe, I would LOOOOOVE to be able to do pointe. I tore my peroneal tendon my first year dancing and I've been rehabbing it for the past 4 years. I'm hoping that by next summer I'll have the strength, flexibility, and balance needed to start pointe.
You should DEFINITELY start classes, it's honestly one of the best things I've ever done!!!!

Stray kids if they were to work in little businesses around my city
Chan
He’s the bartender at the bar in the strip mall with the tattoo shop
(I did have him working at a daycare but I figured I’d give him a break from kids lol)
He knows every dirty little secret about everyone in the city I swear
But he’s just so easy to talk to
Will do fancy tricks if you ask him
Always gets the big tips just because it’s him
finds it incredibly a amusing when some of the college girls come in and have a hard time saying some of the dirty names of some of the drinks
Every karaoke night someone drags him on stage to sing
The whole city knows he can sing by now
People come from the neighbouring cities to hear him sing sometimes
He’s always so flustered when some one compliments him
It endearing
walks to and from work everyday cause his work is literally a block away from his house
But will drive to work just so he can offer to drive Felix and Han home some nights
Minho
works at a dance studio down main street and at another studio on the other side of town
he's a very busy man
loves his job, except for dealing with parents
trust me when i say as a dance assistant parents are usually the hardest part of the job
he likes working with the older kids
but they just can't beat the adorable smiles and giggles of the little kids
most definitely doesn't have a crush on the ballet teacher....
might stay a little longer on Thursdays to see them.
chan, hyunjin and felix will stop by on weekends for the adult classes, it's always chaos.
Changbin
I'm sorry but he's a cafe man to me (It was this or tattoo artist and i'm sorry but someone else is taking that.....)
is the coffee god
cannot bake a thing for his life tho
his boss unltimately doesn't let him in the kitchen
but that just means he gets to sleep in longer cause he doesn't have to help bake anything in the morning
(The man doesn't know how to crack and egg, there's no way he's making eclare's sorry binnie )
flirts with everyone just cause
his boss scolded him in the beginning but he brings in more costumers so who would complain?
but like imagine
buff barista changbin
yes i agree
true masterpiece
likes talking with the old lady who owns the boutique a few shops down
she always calls him cute and he lives for that
but also like the quiet times too because thats when he writes his lyrics
Hyunjin
works in the old lady's boutique
she only hired him cause he was pretty
but then he ended up helping her with her branding by drawing up a new logo and doing all of the stuff with tags and things
he’s now her grandson
goes with her into the city to buy new fabrics
always her model
mans the shop when she heads out to binnies cafe, but she always brings him back an americano and a cookie
after work he stops by to grab another cookie
and of course has to clarify that changbin had no part in the baking process
which earns him a smack from changbin every single time
but he loves it lol practically cackles everytime too
most of his wardrobe is filled with clothes the lady has made him
but they're really nice so he doesn't mind
Jisung
Okay so this might just be me but-
Imagine Han as a tattoo artist (kinda hot...👀)
Han would work in the tattoo parlour just down the street.
He either will only have a couple tattoos or a whole sleeve or two, there is no in between
absolute sweetest
i don't have any tattoos yet so i don't really know how this stuff works so please bare with me
such a good listener
you could probably talk his ear off while he's tattooing you and he's paying attention to every single word while still working diligently
did changbins tattoos and the wolf on chans arm
when he's not writing lyrics or tattooing, he's working with hyunjin to design tattoos
if the person he's tattooing hasn't eaten enough before their tattoo he will just call up felix to deliver some snacks
does get told a lot by felix that it isn't in his job description
but felix can't argue with him when han gives him the cute quokka eyes
but i mean who would want to
Felix
works at the gas station right beside the tattoo parlour.
Such a sweetie
Knows almost everyone that comes in.
Has a couple inside jokes with the guy that buys his lottery ticket every week
Can’t help but beam with happiness when that one special person enters
Gets teased by the regulars when they notice.
the store also allows dogs inside and it's his favourite thing about working there
will always get the doggy a bowl of water to drink
loves to pet them
he just can't help himself
if he's being honest, that one slushie machine has probably never been fixed in the two? years he's worked there
and the pepsi one is always just a little too watery
but he likes the ice cream better anyways
always sees the kids from the middle and high school stopping in when they aren't supposed to to grab snacks
but he doesn't say anything (cause he was one of those kids...oop)
Seungmin
Works at the marble slab that is for some reason all on its own in the parking lot on Main Street?
(Like it’s not attached to the strip mall, it’s just sitting on its own across from the strip mall)
Gets frustrated with those tipsy teens who just love coming and ordering ice cream two minutes to closing.
Has to stop mopping the floors to take their order
Then gets more mad when he sees the dirty footprints on the freshly mopped floor.
( totally was not something my friends did.....I was the by choice designated sober person lol)
but he likes having the later shifts cause he deals with less children
not that he doesn't like kids
they're just messy as hell
and the later shifts allows him to walk home with his friends
so there's that
he's kind of sick of ice cream at this point tho
i mean, he's staring at it practically all day so, i mean, me too (I say as i've never worked at an ice cream shop before)
Jeongin
Works at the popular dollar store down on Main Street
and i mean popular
all the middle aged moms shop there and love to coo at him
Expects Minho and seungmin to drop in every night right before they close to pick up late night snacks after their work
Asks them to wait sometimes so he can walk home with them
Some times they do
Other times they tease him by making him think they left without him
But they wouldn’t actually, jeongin is too cute to leave alone at night
Finds it annoying when people leave things in the wrong spot when the things actual spot is literally a few steps away (despite being popular it’s not that big lol)
(totally not something that bugs me and i don't even work there)
he's also a dog walker on the weekends, stops in at felix's convenice store to chat for a bit before going back
————
I might do little fanfics based on these

I'm not upset at your message. Im inserting a read more because this is long.
I understand your confusion. I think you need more understanding of the time. There are parts that make me uncomfortable, as long as we acknowledge and know that we don't agree with that, we are still allowed to enjoy what we're watching. It is a completely different time. If we only watch things from the perspective that we have now, we would not be able to watch the majority of media from the past. Even within the past 10 years or less.
Watching things from the past give us a view of how things were; how similar we are but also how different and how we have progressed.
In regard to Buster enjoying Birth of a Nation. Yes, he had said that it was a movie he enjoyed, it was the movie that made him realize the potential of what films could do.
I'm pretty positive I know which article you read who mentioned it. I can only say my opinion on that. I don't think Buster was amazed by it because of the story, but because of what they were able to achieve visually on film. No one was really doing epic films like that. From A Filmmakers Life - James Curtis, Page 100 " "You must never forget," Arbuckle had told him, "that the average mentality of our movie audience is twelve years old." Such advice didn't sit well with Buster, who started taking films seriously after seeing Tillie's Punctured Romance, Sennett's pioneering 1914 feature, then thrilling to D.W. Griffth's Birth of a Nation, which he considered a masterpiece. "I thought that over for a long time," he said of Arbuckle's pronouncement, "for three months in fact. Then I said to Roscoe, 'I think you'd better forget the idea that the movie audience has a twelve-year-old mind. Anyone who believes that won't be in pictures very long, in my opinion.' I pointed out how rapidly pictures were improving technically. The studios were also offering better stories all the time, using superior equipment, getting more intelligent directors... 'Every time anyone makes another good picture.' I said, 'people with adult minds will come to see it.'" " In The Man Who Wouldn't Lie Down by Tom Dardis, page 31 -
"In 1917 the motion picture business was growing at a furious rate. The building of new theaters solely devoted to the showing of films gives some idea of how deeply serious the passion for movie-going had become. Starting in April 1914, with the widely successful opening in New York City of the Mark Strand Theater, which had been built with a seating capacity of three thousand on two floors, the construction of ever larger and more opulent theaters proceeded all over the country. The number of paid admissions per week soared into the millions. If any single person can be held responsible for this ever-increasing, consuming interest in films it was surely D.W. Griffith, whose final triumph in mastering film narration during his days at Biograph Studios in the period 1908 through 1913 was summed up in his Birth of a Nation in 1915. It was not uncommon for people to see this film repeatedly; Buster claimed that he'd seen it at least three times shortly after its opening. Everybody saw it, for it was truly the "coming of age" movie for the entire industry."
Same book on page 47 while they're talking about the area around Hollywood it says, "That same year Griffith's The Birth of a Nation appeared, the film that quickly made Hollywood the film center of the world."
It's not just Buster who found the film to be one of their favorites, everyone did. It's what made people take film seriously, not just Buster. A lot of people regarded films as a fad and would fade away and they would go back to live performances. I implore you to read more about the time period, about vaudeville, the beginning of films. Watch more silent films from others rather than just Buster. Chaplin, Lloyd, Langdon, Laurel and Hardy if you just want to do comedy, those are the main ones. I'd say watch Birth of a Nation for yourself. Watch Wings, Ben Hur, Phantom of the Opera, Faust.. Read up about the other actors of the time, I think if you want to better understand Buster and his films, you also have to see what others were doing but also who they were as people. Explore the environment. I know I didn't answer all of your questions, it would be much easier to talk via messaging. But that's up to you. I hope that I at least helped in some way.

if you're ok with doing platonic fluff for the prompts, 13 with Lup & Taako?
13. “Can you stay? Just for tonight, please. I don’t want to be alone with my thoughts.” “‘l’ll stay for as long as you need.”
--
It was drizzling when Lup and Barry arrived at the studio. There was a throng of people around the entrance and Barry had to park next to a news truck because that was the only spot left. Last week, the throng of paparazzi that was desperately trying to crowd around the door had been an ambulance instead. Barry squeezed her hand reassuringly before Lup slipped her hood up and got out of the car. She made a dash towards the entrance.
"-and he's back here today," someone said as she passed.
"Cleared of all charges!"
"I never believed it was him-"
"And that nasty, nasty man who-"
"I couldn't believe-"
"My sister was in the crowd-"
"Is that Lup?" But the door had already been opened just enough for her to slip in and it shut soundly behind her. Lup lifted her hood off to see Susan, already walking down the hall. Lup hurried to keep up.
"Your brother is an idiot," Susan said as Lup fell into step with her.
"I know," Lup said shortly.
"I thought you were keeping him with you?"
"I thought so too," Lup said. She really didn't want to be having this conversation. Especially not with Susan. Susan didn't pick up on the tone.
"I thought you'd still be at court today," she said. "But I suppose-"
"Where's Taako?" Lup interrupted. Susan scoffed, seemingly annoyed. Lup resisted the urge to shove her and find Taako herself.
"Kitchen showroom," she said.
Lup sped up, leaving Susan behind her. She turned a few corners to get there. The door to the showroom was left ajar. Lup slowed, peering inside. Only one of the lights were on, but she could see Taako's outline against the stage. Lup shut the door gently behind her and went to sit.
He hadn't even changed out of his pajamas. Typical.
"Hey dignus," Lup said, plopping down at the edge of the stage next to him. Taako deflated slightly. "What happened to 'of course I'll stay with you and Barry 'til everything calms down'?"
"I just needed some air," Taako said.
"Some air thirty miles from our apartment?" Lup said. "In downtown? Where the air is arguably worse?"
"You know what I mean," Taako said, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah," Lup said. "But you coulda told me. I would have preferred to hear you say where you're going than finding out because Angus decided to watch the news and sent me like, seven hundred texts."
"That snitch," Taako said, not with his usual heat. Lup had to remind herself that unenthusiastic Taako was better than silent Taako, which had to deal with all week. Taako kicked his feet, staring down at the audience section. Lup waited for him to say something else, but he didn't, so she had to instead.
"D'you remember what you said to me when I came to pick you up?" Lup asked. Taako shrugged, playing with a loose thread on his pants. "You said 'Can you stay? Just for tonight, please. I don't wanna be alone with my thoughts.'"
"I'm pretty sure that's not what I said-"
"Shh," Lup said. Taako snorted. "And I said, 'I'll stay as long as you need, buttface.'"
"That's- that's a little more realistic, yeah."
"But I can't stay with you if you keep trying to leave, Taako," Lup said, grabbing his hand. Taako looked away. "I know the situation is shitty but I'm not gonna leave you. Please just- just trust me to help you. If you wanna go somewhere, like here, or I don't know, to the jail or whatever to beat up Sazed, then I'll be there. I'll drive you, I'll beat him up with you. Just don't... don't leave without telling me or Barry. Please."
"I'm not a child, Lup," Taako said.
"No, you're not," Lup said. "So you can be an adult and do this one thing for me, can't you?"
Taako was silent. He let out a deep sigh, shoulders slouching even further.
"You fight nasty, you fucking goober," he said.
"Is that a yes?" Lup asked, squeezing his hand again.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Taako said, which was as close to a yes as she'd ever get. Lup leaned over, wrapping him in a hug. He spluttered but didn't try to shove her off him.
"I care about you," Lup said. "You know that, right?"
"You've only told me eighty times in the past week," Taako said.
"Yeah, well, it's true," Lup said, finally letting him go. "We gotta get going before Barry's car gets mobbed or whatever."
"Well that I've gotta see," Taako said.

Reposting this because, I was right.
This was written the summer before season 2 aired.
Gonna talk about my lowering expectations and my wariness or worries for Season 2 of Euphoria.
These are just my personal opinions and speculations. This is long oops, buckle in.
Tumblr media
This season is about to be so dark and a bit more gritty, less pretty effects but still great visuals and edits. I look forward to that I just hope it doesn't turn off too many fans. I saw a lot of people did not enjoy the specials for their lack of glitter and their blunt honesty. The dialogue is needed especially because not only Rules but all of these teens have terrible communication skills. The specials were honestly amazing and a great step into this more realistic aspects of a very complicated love story. I hope we can continue this line of realism and more perspectives or at least Rue talking about other characters perspectives. I would actually love to see Leslie, her mom, and things from her side of the story.
We all know it will be dark but my fear is that its going to be a trauma dump with poor writing, and no room for breathe. I know Sam has about like 5 different projects going on so I hope he took or takes his time with this script. But, after Malcom and Marie I'm a bit worried because he is going to have to go into uncharted new territory. Especially with these newer characters, I know HBO/A24 euphoria casting is looking for a stripper or two which has me a bit shook. I wonder how far they are going to push this show in the limits of wild but realistic teenage years. Personally even at 25 have never been to a strip club but I do know people who started stripping/dancing at 18. Either during our senior year of highschool or their freshman year of college. Sam being a cis white man is going to have to do his research and talk to people in order to not write a character like that in a damaging light. Which I hope doesn't happen because I'm pro adult dancer with transparency about that industry and others like it. Someone does need to spell out realistic consequences of joining in those industries at a young adult age, but it needs to be done correctly. I don't know if Sam will be the right person for that but only time will tell.
Tumblr media
I have the same worries with the introduction of more poc cast and specifically black characters. Again time will tell and I cannot judge something entirely that I have not read or seen.
In general with Sam's writing i hope that any input that the cast has with their characters and the storylines is taken into consideration. I know this was done with the bridge episodes and season 1 but, sometimes studios can loom over talent when something is so successful. With all the awards, acclaim, and criticism I hope that peoples voices are still being heard and listened to. It would be a disservice to HBO to force expectations that could hurt the shows quality. *glares in last season of game of thrones*
While I'd love for this season to focus on anyone other than Jason Bateman Jr. the show is a drama and eventually Nathan will have to surface at some point. Rmfe.
Tumblr media
I think there definitely need to be something where the on hand psychology liaison works out a plan for dismantling the Nate is just a fixer upper thing going on. I'm usually fine and let people ship what they ship but seeing so many abuse apologist sends off alarms in my mind. I realize it has partially to do with Jacob being attractive, which is also a great point the show is making pretty people can be bad too. But, it makes sense why this show is not geared for kids/young teens because the point just flew over theirs and even a lot of adults heads. I can only think that he will not be written as a complete villain because truth be told he is not entirely evil. He is a scared little boy in a grown man's body who needs therapy and real weighted consequences. He might not get either of those things and we just see him go off into the world, that is scary but real.
I'm aware that all of these characters could and likely will make turns for the worst. All teenagers and adults make mistakes, sometimes damaging ones. But, since some of these characters are trying to get into college I think that needs to be taken into account with their stories. Unless Nate doesn't plan on going to college it is unrealistic for him to be acting a whole fool the entire season. So I hope we don't get a over the top Joker character because senior year you kind of don't have time to fuck your senior year up unless you actively try to. At least in my experience. Also for the love of Jesus I don't want him and Jules to be anything. Even if he has feelings I need it to be plainly written out that its twisted and one sided because he is emotionally manipulating both her and Maddy.
Tumblr media
Our time with certain characters is either running out this upcoming season or will fade. I know McKay might not come back or will be a background character. I actually think that is smart so the story isn't bogged down with irrelevant characters but, i hope the storyline and Rue or Nate's story doesn't suffer because of this. With the introduction of new characters the focus could go anywhere with this new season.
Maddy has the tape and her limbo of a breakup with Nate to worry about. If she uses it against Jules in favor of Nate, imma have to hope karma bites her in the ass.
Kat has her stalker and I'm terrified where they will go with her storylinr. I hope the writer does show the more negative aspects of camming, as well as, the effects it can/would have on a minor doing that. Because in the moment it is fun....and then you find yourself conscious of the decision you've made and with whom. The very serious legal ramifications that exist as well should you get caught. But, i really don't want them to girlboss Kat for being an underage person making money that way without any scope of what she's getting into. That would be so so harmful. But, I don't want her story to become one giant p.s.a for the dangers of XYZ work.
I believe in a Jules Vaughn supremacy and I want to protect her from that evil boy and his father. Am so so looking forward to new Jules' makeup and fashion looks that reflect the characters rejection of doing things for male validation . I do love her even though her and Rue's communication issues drive me up a wall. She should have just been like Rue, I like you a lot so can we sit down and talk about this but she didn't and now they are both out there crying into a pillow asking why doesn't she like me. I do get that they are 16/17 and I too at 17 most definitely wasn't equipped to communicate that well either. Hunter is doing a phenomenal job and I see a long career in her future.
Tumblr media
Oh Rue, I think he is handling Rue's story well, but as always they can handle certain things differently. I.E even though I didn't see it as romantization I know some people did see the scene with her yelling at Fez and her OD as being too cheery. Rue in the special episode makes you angry and I actually would love more of that. I want to be upset at this character that I love and relate to so much, because a lot of her choices are frustating. Even the ones she makes that aren't revolving around her addiction which is honestly the only thing her life really revolves around. I wonder what else Rue enjoys or will find joy in besides drugs, Jules, and hanging out with her mom. She desperately needs to find a better outlet and hoping we get to join her on the journey to finding that..
Since we see everyone's perspective from her eyes it will be nice to see how her lack of sobriety affects those around her. Especially the baddest most down friends someone could have, Lexi and Fezco.
Lexi and Fez's episodes are gonna be so good, but God i know they are going to be vastly different because of the lives they lead. Fez' will get very sad or upsetting and Lexi' is going to bleed out of Cassie and Rue's storylines. These two are the closest to Rue who dealt with her addiction before rehab and before we met Rue. If Rue is this bad when she has no reason to keep living, imagine how she was directly after her dad passed away. Which because she is unreliable she never talks about and we only see glimpses of when she isn't narrating. So it will be really interesting to get a deep dive for both of these characters.
Fezco is the only man I really care about in this show. Um, Ethan is okay but I don't think he needs an episode. I'd rather get an episode on Fez and his little brother/cousin.
I would also like no love more of detective Lexi because that was too fun. Also Lexi is every person who has a bestfriend who gets into a relationship and they gush about that person in front of you for a little too long.
Tumblr media
I'm kind of worried for Cassie honestly because she has come out of the wanting to date to feel loved phase, but will she focus on herself? Will she focus on school or skating? Will we even get to see more of her character or will she fade into the background a bit more and her story goes stale? I don't know i just hope that if there are any scenes like last season that its done in a "tasteful" way. She shouldn't be the show or productions golden ticket or free pass to be used as an object or trophy. McKay already did that and she deserves better. After my many rewatches of season 1 I'm still a bit unsettled by some of those scenes with her. I get she's supposed to be looked at from that lens of owning her sexuality while dealing with the male gaze, but at times its like jeez yall are really had to go there. Maybe its because i don't or try not to look at women with misogyny as a backlight, BOO DANIEL BOOO. The carousel scene is probably one of the most uncomfortable 5 minutes I've ever experienced watching TV. I just hope that behind the scenes and in table reading discussions are being had with Sydney' and any other actors to respect their comfort levels.
It is funny that out of the HBO shows with nudity that this is the one with the least femme presenting nakedness. I'm not weirded out by nudity but even for me seeing all them elephant trunks had me like O.O. It is nice to see that all bodies are being normalized and specifically that its not just "lets sexualize femme bodies" for views. Instead it subverts the norm while also reinforcing that bodies can be shown without any other intent than that bodies exist in many forms. A couple newer HBO and HBO max original shows are also following in Euphoria's lead with this, but there are still some HBO shows that I'm like so "you can show topless women back to back but the men are covered up and "modest". "
Ugh I hope the Game of Thrones spinoff has learned from its past, but that's me trying to be nice instead of saying I'm not interested after that finale season.
Tumblr media
After this season we likely only have one more season, 3 Season model has taken over and honestly it makes sense to only go to 4 seasons max with this show. S1 and 2 for junior year, S3/maybe 4 for senior year. A season for each semester. Also if im remembering correctly Sam said he got clean after highschool or around that senior year to college years. And since Rue in a lot of ways is based off of him that timing makes sense. So I hope for a season 2 that is more reflective of the bridge episodes that gets us to season 3. And, I hope for this upcoming season even with the criticism that will come that its handled and executed beautifully. Glitter, messiness, and realistic sadness in all.
That's all I've got to say for now.

I'm going to propose a John Henry race and for Walt Disneyland or Walt Disney world really the second one and it will make sense when you look at the finials and spiers from prior to 2021 to and here on the right 2021. And the coral color to but really it is the gold and things like that they're really back then had very few uses gold was not extremely useful except for regarding electrical current and conductivity and what it suggest is Tommy favino versus David Audette. The East Coast the man's Castle the West Coast the female. And they got in a fight after the race is because of what happened on the bridge as well big man was told me we have no push policy here at tract house so. And they both got kicked out of the race circuit and it's mainly because of Dan but Trump supposedly instigated it. People say so what he's giving you some free information a little bit of a massive retard and you're going to be the trigger guy the job against John Henry. And David are dead is the machine and the machine always wins supposedly but it's not true.
Zues
Wow honey finally it's summarized and they want to see what we're up to and they want us to build the castle and the entertainment center and some of it says it
Hera
I'm going to prove this after examining it it's a different Castle and you'll see which one and you'll see the block and you'll see that it's the same block that we're making mostly and it stuck together with the same stuff and it doesn't move and some people think that some of them are robots and they might be right
Thor Freya
There's a huge number of things that are going through everyone's mind and it is intense. They're going to have all sorts of questions and it's going to happen. His and her castle are the same pretty much they're two different ones but his is a little bit bigger and has a couple more finials and hers is beautiful and it's gigantic but it has last but it has more detail that's all they are she always says a lot more and he listens intently and she tries to get him to repeat it and he does most of it he misses some secret stuff and he keeps it to himself sometimes you can't remember anything we do that on purpose and I don't pass we tell her he'll remember it later. And what it means is that Dave and Carol might not be gone and what they say is that the diamond Southern Jupiter and Saturn are as large as the Earth a little bit bigger yes and some of them and they would be combined and your equipment with disintegrate the second you turned it on warm it up it would be gone then come out as a wide beam and demolish everything within a few million miles easily maybe in a planetoid or two. We're going into overtime no. My son is still a kid and he wants to have children enjoy the feeling of freedom of driving a vehicle and he wants to take the track off and make the car so they don't look like they have bumpers but so they do and so the kids can drive them freely and they space them out anyways all the time on go-kart rides he wants to make them more realistic and bigger and a lot more realistic and have like a really big go-kart place where they're like Indy cars but with secret bumpers very hard to make them like that but you can and people want to drive them because they look fast and have like an adult version and adults who love it they love this place and he says you have to make a little more disney-ish and universal studios ish they have all that too and we're going to go ahead and start making it. They don't have the rights to The Simpsons and they kind of want to do that but the others don't want to sell it and they don't want to allow it and there's a whole bunch of other stuff Harry Potter and things like that they can't get to and we can question the Lord of the rings people and we mean ask them if they want to lol. Really gandalf knows our son and had encounter with the warlock and it was really bad and he had a decent time
Connie f asked how the rock of cropping is performed in the shape of the helm and a sun laughed and said by Giants who put limestone in the shape of it and the Giants and they can see the surface of the Earth and he says no way and Ken is a giant and he's in trouble for saying stuff and it gets mad but he's locked out and he doesn't like it and he's trying to get into it
Olympus
I left a little then I said I'm a s*** head then I get mad over the years would look like that damn it it'll be huge too I said yeah Dave can probably get to A thousand Miles and he's enough alone and it's a story about them in the Bible they call us that too but it's called something different after or something not as.

The Softest Bed
I'm the kind of person to clean up litter when I see it. Sometimes, I even go around my neighborhood with garbage bag in hand and clean the place up. It's a poverty stricken neighborhood and, really, poverty stricken city on a whole. It's very low to the bottom of cost of living for my country which comes with its pros and cons. It means you need not concern yourself so much with work and labor and in general can pursue the life of the Human Being rather than the Human Doing. At the same time, the vast majority of people in the West have had their (sub)conscious programmed by society to believe that possession of fiat currency is in any way intrinsic - even correlated - to how rich and meaningful or impoverished and miserable they are.
Tumblr media
"For ye have the poor always with you..."
~Matthew 26:11
It's a poverty of the mind, not finances.
For most of my life I have lived around what is considered the "poverty line" in my country. Sometimes above, sometimes below. When I reached the age to where I had enough of a brain to even psychologically dream of what "meaning" is, or at least feel it if not actually have it, I was pretty good at finding it. Though not truly conscious of it at that stage in my life, there was significant stretches of time where I would enter Csikszentmihalyi's/Nakamura's Flow State, feel proper contentedness for the day's endeavors, and have something to look forward to in following days which made sure I didn't sleep in longer than needed. A meaningful mixture of striving, satisfaction, wonder, and engrossment was at the very least keeping my serotonin in check. I no longer find most the topics of my childhood and initial adult years to be so meaningful, but this is only because I matured. Though I think that if I perhaps shunned them altogether now then that could be reflective I did not (unwittingly) ascertain semblances of meaning back then. I do not shun it. Piecing together the mythos of Bungie's Destiny was not at all wasted time; the creative leads of that studio have always been quite inspired. What was the wasted time, which at that point I was unable to cut away from the meaningfulness, was the video game addiction.
Kudos to them. Make an incredibly satisfying core gameplay loop to act as a hook into "initiation" to the higher mysteries. I see you, Jason Jones. I suspect at your age you're not rocking a samurai ponytail merely because you find it fashionable.
The unwitting submersion in Meaning from a very young age in constructed virtual worlds has been a cornerstone of my present lucid pursuit of higher Meaning, complete with all the lovely neurotransmitters one would hope for when they pursue The Path.
I digress (and I will again, worry not!) from our Softest Bed.
There have been times when people that my less compassionate side would call NPCs have deliberately littered right behind me, as soon as I turn a corner when I'm cleaning things up in my hood. In response to me, for the goal of being a complete fool? Or because it's so natural to them to do that they don't even think twice? When I find litter close to public trash cans, I think it's some of the latter. Sure, both instances are quite reflective of a "fool", but you see by now that I'm not the kind of person to gloss over things. I once asked a now evicted (thank God) neighbor why his family littered like they did, because one of that household would literally throw a bag of garbage from their car onto the curb almost every day. I even once taped signs to the sidewalk under the cover of night, chastising these people for their careless ways. There was more litter than usual there the next day, the very taped down signs removed. He told me it was the other people in the house. Well, that means the "chips are down", then, and whom picks them up? Not the people who are lowly, for they are not up and therefore cannot get the chips back up. It's the elevated ones whom have the responsibility to bend down and pick up the pieces...even if the responsibility thrust upon them was not born of their own fault. It's like some people are just determined to actively make their own life hell, either consciously or subconsciously. It's hard to have any compassion at all for people like that, especially when their methods of manifesting hell is countering your attempts of manifesting heaven. Still, I do have some compassion, as heaven won't be manifest without that compassion. I once made my own life a kind of hell through abject apathy for most of my life. (those virtual worlds hinting to me the very real magic of the physical world were the meaningful bits) Even if I wasn't so far gone as to sully Mother Nature, I still know what the suffocation of encroaching entropy does to the soul. How tightly it coils and binds, yet how easily it's dispersed by the smallest of sparks when all it takes is a spark to light a fuse, never mind the kindest souls fighting the good fight and kicking open doors of the house of shadows...the ones that aren't impossibly barred from the inside.
"The gates of hell are locked from the inside."
~C.S Lewis
Tumblr media
So color me a little miffed, then, when on my usual walk around my town I come across a patch of field with all of this paper rubbish strewn about. Wouldn't be the first time someone decided that parks were for parking trash and it won't be the last time either. I've filled plenty of full sized garbage bags in this park before.
Just ridiculous, honestly. However much of an extrovert I am, man do I just hate people sometimes. Not the person. I'm not a people person, I'm a person person. As is the common sentiment, the masses are so foolish at times. Does the "wisdom of the masses" exist at all anymore? I highly doubt it.
I was frustrated enough to traipse on over there and, I don't know, just wallow in the frustration of the apathy? Shake my walking cane at the mess in anger?
Subconsciously understanding that not everything is always as it seems, alongside my conscious woes?
Perhaps. Because, oh, wait...
Tumblr media
...It was just the cotton that's flown off of the cotton tree that was right next to the "mess". I was highly amused. Not only at my kneejerk reactions, but also how this yet again comes back to perspective. The importance of active perspective, of voluntary prospect, of going deeper.
Deeper into the serpent's interior.
This was another binary, of course. I first perceived a pocket of hell in my heaven, but then the heavy scales of my judgment were consumed by me putting my foot/tail in my mouth. Embarrassing judgment. Yet, I am my own sustenance and from myself I grow; a self made snake/man. I'm surely to die if I keep doing this...just like how the old me is dead.
Most people don't want to die. That's why they don't like to think like this. They think they can take a picture of themselves, freeze their identity and the happy feelings born from it, and laminate it in gloss. Gloss over it? The specular lighting bouncing off the laminated photo will indeed be over and gone one day and then we'll see things for how they really are.
How prepared are you going to be?
What does your death bed look like? How comfortable is the cot(t) that you lay on ?
Mine is made from the most luxurious fabric of them All. The fabric of reality. Spun from the cottons of the Tree of Life to make the All. The Softest Bed adrift in the Oceans of All. Woven into an endless series of strings to lay on. As endless as the multitudinous branches that reach up to Heaven and its myriad roots going and growing into and from Hell. (Could it be, that for every branch in Heaven, there must needs be a root in Hell?) My own string itself endless as well. Your own string just as endless. Everyone's. You have but one, though, which is what makes this life so complicated.
Tumblr media
Not unlike the classic Etch a Sketch. If you're unfamiliar, if this was before your time, then the two knobs you see control which cardinal directions the one single line you're given will go. As though, you've put a pencil to paper to draw a picture, but you cannot lift up your pencil once you start -- and you have to start in the dead middle. You live with what happens. Good and bad. We all set out to make master pieces, but given the limitations, we're going to make mistakes. This is the picture of your perception. Your string.
These little toys are cheap. If they're even sold anymore, anyways. Certainly dollar store material. Anyone can afford one. Even the people in the poverty stricken neighborhoods. If only they could see they could make a master piece, no matter where they are or what quantity of things they have in the outer universe. All together, now, the endless series of endless strings is what coalesces into an analogue of the Gordian Knot. Put the knobs on the face of your whetstone. Carve the line into that cold hard reality and sharpen your sword to cut the knot. Solve the problem. Transmute the bad into good. See the paper rubbish as Life's cotton. Collapse the waveform favorably. And rest easy knowing that if you can't cut things down to size and turn that bad to good because of the mistakes in your Etch A Sketch causing mental blindspots? Everyone owns a sword; everyone owns an Etch A Sketch. Find your people. Find The Others. Strength in numbers...as long as the numbers are made of persons and not people.
Read that video's description.

i've never seen an episode of rick & morty in my life but every time i see a screenshot or a gifset or a clipped scene somewhere i have to wonder why ~edgy adult cartoons~ are so intent on having the ugliest fucking art style you have ever seen
#I don't get it oh my god they're so visually u pleasing#And I'm not even talking about the dark muddy colors although that's part of it. All their character designs look like complete shit lmao#Not just r&m either. It's about all adult cartoons#They're visually so insanely unappealing that that alone makes me not wanna watch any of them lmao#Like who told these studios that adults don't like seeing pretty things? 😭#Just compare something like she-ra to fucking rick n morty#Even though it's intended for kids she-ra is STUNNING. everything is so pretty and there is clearly so much love put into every frame#And character and background#Whereas with adult cartoons it straight up looks like the creators themselves hate their cartoon lmao they all look so uninspired and#Frankly? Kinda lifeless lol#Don't know it's always bothered me so much and I think that's one of the reasons why I've never watched any of the adult cartoons#If you get to draw a whole world why wouldn't you make fun designs??? You can literally draw WHATEVER YOU WANT!!! Your character can have#Anything you want! Anything!! Wings!! Horns!! Tails!! Anything lmao#And you choose Generic White Male Number 5 In A T-Shirt???? WHY JFKSFK#Like man fucking Phineas and Ferb is so much more fun to look at than big mouth jfkslgl#The only adult cartoon I actually find pretty cool looking is bojack and I still intent on watching it some day#And btw I'm completely not talking about the story that's a whole different topic#I'm just talking about anesthetics

Promo "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" (2009), Christoph "Doom" Schneider  — Interview by Philip Lageat, 16-11-2009, Nantes (Rock Hard #94)
Rock Hard : With six studio albums in the bag, it must be more and more difficult to establish a setlist. How do you deal with that ?
Christoph "Doom" Schneider : Strangely enough, we take our heads less at this level than in the studio. I am therefore going to surprise you by telling you that this is done as simply and naturally as possible, since we ultimately proceed in a very democratic way : each of us draws up a list of our favorite titles. We then compare the desideratas of each... and the majority wins, provided however that the songs chosen fit well into the show. We did it this time around and it worked really well, since we shared an identical opinion on many songs. Personally, I find that we have found a good balance between old songs and new songs. We play a lot of songs from our last album, Liebe Ist Für Alle Da, which suits me well because I admit that I was fed up with some old titles. I was almost sickened by playing them. So we discarded them, otherwise I think we would have quickly become jaded of the new show. So we had to be careful what we choose, because, given the special effects that we deploy on stage, it is quite difficult for us, after the fact, to make big changes in the setlist. It is that each of us must know precisely what to do, and where it must be, during each song : a misstep, a second of inattention, and you are toasted like a peanut ! (laughs) Anyway, a setlist usually follows you during a whole tour and I'm happy with it which, as I said, seems to me to be a happy medium, a pretty harmonious balance, between old and new songs.
RH : Twenty years ago almost to the day, on November 9, 1989, we witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. As an East German, do you remember this historic moment ?
Christoph : Yes, I was in town. In the middle of the night, I heard the radio announcing that people were destroying the Wall. It must be said that, for a few days already, the rumor had swelled that this was going to happen. But I stayed home because quite frankly, I couldn't believe it ! (laughs) It wasn't until a day or two later that I crossed the Wall for the first time to go west. At the risk of disappointing, I was therefore not one of those people we saw on TV riding the Wall and destroying it with a pickax or hammer. I remember I was of course delighted, but the shock was such that it took me a while to adjust to this new life : during the first two or three years, I had the feeling of not being able to be part of nothing and of everything at the same time, to evolve in a space of total freedom. To tell the truth, it was an extraordinary period ! In East Berlin, it was chaos. We squatted in houses where we organized huge parties... (smile) There were no rules and a sweet scent of anarchy hung in the air. Musically, we all continued to play with our respective bands and for a while it didn't go so badly. Until we realized that the situation had changed dramatically and that these bands belonged to a period from now on bygone, were from another age. We felt that the time had come to start a new adventure by creating another group. The foundations of Rammstein were laid... From the start, we defined what our sound should be. Very quickly we figured out that even if we rehearse hard, we would never be able to sound like an American band. That's why we tried to create something unique, which really looks like us.

RH : Do you remember the first concert you saw in the West ?
Christoph : It probably must have been an unknown punk band. But the first big gig I attended was a Red Hot Chili Peppers show at a tiny club. In 1990, it seems to me. They were not as popular then as they are today and did not perform in large venues yet. Before this concert, I had never heard of it. It was a Californian who was squatting at my house who told me that it was a good group and offered to go see it. When I think about it, I wonder what she and I could say to each other, since I couldn't get a word of English ! (laughs) Anyway, we went to this concert and I took a huge slap. Never before have I seen something so exciting ! This is an evening that I will never forget...
RH : Despite multiple internal friction, Rammstein has always kept the same line-up. How do you explain this stability ?
Christoph : Rammstein is only worth the sum of his individualities and their uniqueness. If one of us left, or whoever, we wouldn't be dealing with the same group. Rammstein would no longer be. So, it's true, there were tensions between us during the recording of the last album (see previous interview), but that's how Rammstein works. I believe in these guys... And then we always had a fight every time we set foot in the studio, and that, for any album. It's just that, when we were younger, we were able to find common ground faster because we were less stubborn and had less ego. Maybe we are too stressed out today when we work together, because we know it is going to be a long and painful process. And that, we find it more and more difficult to bear it. But for me that's a good thing, because these tensions are a blessing, in that they sharpen our creativity. Without them we would not achieve exciting results. We only yell at each other over simple taste issues : "I like it, why don't you like it too?". It's just that sometimes we tend to forget about it and take things too personal. At my level, I now tend not to want to impose my point of view if the majority does not think like me. Others, on the contrary, do not get along with age and refuse to give up even the smallest square inch of land (laughs). Hence endless heated discussions. Not to mention that the producer also has an opinion and that we therefore have to juggle the desires of seven people. You should know that for the most of us no longer get along with the producer (Editor's note: the Swede Jacob Hellner who has so far produced all of Rammstein's albums) in terms of choices and tastes. We have not changed, not evolved one iota. We are still able to develop this stupid energy in order to provoke, and I like that because some people expect us to mature with age, that we become more "adult". And here we are shooting a porn clip (Editor's note: allusion to the video for the single "Pussy") ! (laughs) We're still the same kids who, twenty years ago, were overflowing with youthful enthusiasm : "That's going to be a blast. So what are we waiting for ?"
RH : To conclude, do you really sell this box containing Six dildos that we could see on the Net ?
Christoph : (Visibly embarrassed) I have no answer to that question. I think this is more of a joke than a reality... And then who would buy this anyway ? (laughs)

~ 10 months prior ~
It had been an unusually hot day, even for the middle of August. The heat hazes over the scalding hot streets were omnipresent, and people everywhere were trying to find some relief from the burning sun.
Lizzie loved every second of it.
She didn’t mind the high temperatures at all and relished the warmth on her skin as she stepped outside the old house in Kensington. It belonged to Ethan Parkin and Equinox had been keeping their rehearsal rooms in his converted cellar ever since Lizzie could remember.
They had just finished a long day of putting together the last details for their upcoming European tour. It had taken them all day until everyone had been satisfied with the results. Finally outside again, Lizzie intended to make the most out of the remaining hours of daylight.
It had suited her just fine when Orion had mentioned the poetry slam happening just around the corner of where he was living. He had invited all of them to come, but all except Lizzie had already made plans for the evening. Skye had wanted to come as well, but after receiving a text, she had abruptly changed her mind again.
So now it was only the two of them riding on the West Kensington tube station towards Gloucester Road. Orion was casually carrying a huge bag containing one of his guitars over his shoulder.
“Why are you taking that with you?” Lizzie asked him curiously. “You usually keep them in the rehearsal room.”
“Everything has its time, may it be little or large. The time of the strings on this guitar are almost over; I need to replace them,” Orion said. “I don’t have any suitable ones at the rehearsal room though. I’ll just drop the guitar off at home and we’ll be on our way again.”
They had just hopped onto the Circle Line that would take them to Notting Hill; Orion watched her from across his seat. “Why do you look so surprised?”
Lizzie tilted her head to one side. “In all these years, none of us has ever been at your place before. Except for Merula, of course,” she added matter-of-factly.
They were about to reach Notting Hill Gate and Orion motioned for her to get up. “Then it’s about time.”
They had to walk a bit from the tube station to the house where Orion was living. Although it took them about fifteen minutes to get there, Lizzie didn’t even notice. They passed through bustling streets, several of them lined with market stalls selling food and curious little trinkets. The colourful terraces and fronts that made Nottinghill so famous brightened Lizzie’s mood even further.
She and Orion were talking about all kinds of things, the band, the tour, the fact that Lizzie had never been to a poetry slam before; something, Orion told her, they would definitely need to change.
When they arrived at their destination, Lizzie dipped her head back and looked up at the brightly painted front of the old house. It was bigger than the ones surrounding it and Lizzie presumed it was made up of several flats.
“Are you coming?” Orion called over to her; he was waiting in the doorway, holding the door open for her.
Lizzie smiled as she followed him into the cool darkness of the stairwell. “I just thought this place fits you.”
He laughed softly as he climbed the stairs behind her. “What makes you think that?”
“It’s a mix of so many different things,” Lizzie explained, “traditional, but also free-spirited and unconventional, old-fashioned and modern at the same time; just like you.”
She heard Orion laugh again. “Well, if you think so.”
They walked right to the top floor, where two dark blue doors branched off the landing. Orion unlocked the one on the left and stepped aside to let her enter his flat first.
Lizzie found herself standing in one huge, sun-filled room; her eyes were immediately drawn to the big skylights in the bare brick walls through which the light was filtering in. It was a lot tidier than she would have expected from someone with as much creative energy as Orion. But even though the furniture was pretty minimalistic, the room seemed to breathe Orion’s energy.
Everywhere she looked Lizzie could see something that was so inherently him; a half-finished travel book on India, a bowl full of colourful crystals, a small dreamcatcher hanging over his bed in the far corner of the room. Almost every free surface was occupied by plants of all forms and sizes; they added a pleasant pop of colour to the otherwise neutral toned place.
Everything Orion needed on a daily basis seemed to be in the room Lizzie was standing in right now; the only thing she was surprised to notice was the total lack of anything to do with music. While she kept her main drum kit at their rehearsal room when they weren’t on tour, she had a smaller one over at her own place, as well as some other percussion and a guitar for when she felt like a change.
Her unasked question was answered when Orion walked past her into an adjacent room Lizzie hadn’t noticed before, his guitar still strung over his shoulder. Curious, she followed behind and had to chuckle when she saw the reason why there were no traces of Orion’s love for music in the main room.
The whole second room of his flat had been turned into some kind of home studio. All of their awards and golden records were hung on the walls, alternating with several old guitars. All of them seemed to be in pristine condition.
On Lizzie’s left side was a huge table that was littered with notebooks, plectrums and a simple switchboard she assumed Orion used for recordings. What piqued her interest was located on the other side of the room, however; all the instruments featured in their band were set up there, including a worn looking, blue drum kit, almost similar to the one she had at home for practising.
Lizzie smiled and stepped closer to it as Orion deposited his guitar on the worktable. She ran her hand over the floor tom, one of the horizontally mounted drums. Something about it felt oddly familiar.
“Do you remember it?”
Lizzie looked up from the drums and saw Orion leaning against the doorframe, watching her. “You should, it’s the one you used on our first tour. The label let me have it for practically nothing.”
The memory made her smile and she tapped her fingers against the slightly worn drum head in a quick, alternating rhythm. “Why am I not surprised at all that you’re using half of your place for making music?”
He mirrored her smile. “Passion is like a living thing, it needs room to breathe and be free if it wants to thrive. Did you think I made up all the instrument parts for our songs only in my head?”
Lizzie picked up one of the drumsticks and flipped it, laughing as she caught it again. “And your neighbours are okay with you running your one-man band up here?”
“So far, no one has complained,” Orion grinned before pushing himself off the wall. He motioned to her to follow him. “Come on, the studio’s great but I want to show you the best part of this place.”
She followed him back into the other room, where he led her to one of the huge skylights. Lizzie noticed the steep, rickety looking steps beneath it. Orion reached up and undid the latch before quickly climbing upwards and vanishing through the window.
When she didn’t follow immediately, his head popped back into view. “What’s wrong?”
Lizzie eyed the steps sceptically. “These don't look really trustworthy.”
Orion laughed and extended his hand to her. “Don’t you trust me?” His eyes twinkled with amusement. “Or are you scared?”
“As if,” Lizzie snorted indignantly and climbed up after him, completely ignoring his offer for help.
Her momentary flare of stubborness died as quickly as it had come when she stepped past Orion and out onto a beautiful terrace, set back into the roof of the building. It wasn’t a particularly large space, but it was more than enough for a sunchair, a set of lounge chairs and a table. A huge parasol protected the area from the sun, but even so it was burning hot up here. The ground was laid with wooden floorboards and several chains of fairy lights and small lampions were fixed to the walls or wound about the railing of the sunshade.
Not one to be intimidated by the heat, Lizzie walked over to the wrought iron railing and leaned over it, admiring the breathtaking view stretching out in front of her. The skyline of London was glittering in the sunlight and she could make out the sea of green that was Kensington Gardens.
“Wow,” she breathed, “the view is fantastic.”
She heard Orion chuckle from somewhere behind her. “It is.”
Lizzie’s eyes fell to the many plant pots lining the length of the terrace. Like the plants inside, they added something peaceful to the atmosphere; she had never known Orion was so into gardening.
She ran her finger over the leaves of one of them. “Who’s taking care of these when we’re on tour?”
“My neighbour,” Orion answered, “she knows her way around plants. She is teaching botany at Queen Mary University.”
Lizzie had spotted a very familiar looking specimen with distinctly pinnate leaves. She turned to Orion with a grin. “And your professor neighbour is alright with watering this illegal little fellow here?”
Orion laughed. “She’s very liberal on the matter, really. Where do you think I got it from?”
“All for scientific reasons, I presume.”
“It does open the mind to a new level of creativity,” Orion shrugged, making Lizzie laugh out loud.
“That sounds so much like you. No wonder I don’t get the lyrics half the time.”
Lizzie stepped back from the railing and wandered over to the sunchair. The heated surface bit into the bare skin of her legs as she lounged into it, but she enjoyed the warmth as soon as the initial pain subsided.
“I can definitely see why this is your favourite place,” she sighed, “I could just stay here all day.”
“The poetry slam doesn’t start for another hour,” Orion said, “and it’s not far from here, so we don’t have to go just yet. Do you want a drink or something?”
Lizzie turned her head and shaded her eyes with her hand. “I like the sound of that.”
***
One glass of ice cold white wine turned into two, and then turned into a number Lizzie couldn’t possibly remember anymore. The sun had long gone down and the poetry slam had started ages ago, but they were still sitting on Orion’s rooftop terrace with no intention of going anywhere anytime soon.
With the sun gone, the air had grown cooler; the floor and walls were heated by the day’s sun, but Lizzie had found herself hugging her bare knees, shivering just a little. Orion had gone back inside to bring her something to keep her warm; he had come back with a plain black hoodie that she had gratefully accepted. Orion was much taller than Lizzie was, however and so the sweater hung loose around her shoulders and went down past beneath her hips. Lizzie had to roll up the sleeves several times until her hands were free again, but she was glad for the extra warmth it provided.
It didn’t surprise her that Orion didn’t grow the weed plant out of sheer botanical interest; accompanying the wine, they were sharing a joint with a mixture he had created himself. Lizzie couldn’t tell if she was primarily drunk or high at this point, the only thing she knew was that she had never in her life seen anything so fascinating as the fairy lights reflected in her wine glass.
“Like teeny tiny fireflies,” she giggled as she twirled the glass between her fingers, delighted by the way the light sparkled in the cold drink.
“I think you’ve caught a bit too much,” Orion chuckled but handed her the joint back anyway. Although he had been wearing a very detached grin on his face for the last half an hour or so, he wasn’t nearly as giddy as Lizzie; but then again, he was probably much more used to smoking than she was.
“And besides,” he continued, holding his own glass up against the lights, “they’re clearly little stars; how can you not see that?” His face grew pensive. “A whole, tiny wine glass galaxy.”
“You’ve no idea what you’re talking about,” Lizzie declared firmly. She lounged deeper into her armchair and took a deep drag. She dipped her head back and slowly blew the smoke into the air; the way it made the lights hazy was really pretty. “And it’s called a teacup galaxy.”
“Aren’t we all galaxies in our own teacups, in one way or another?”
Lizzie hummed in response. “In that case, I’d actually prefer the wine glass.”
She closed her eyes and let the sensation of the cushions in her back envelope her for a moment. From somewhere in the neighbourhood music was drifting up to them; from what she could hear, it sounded tropical, Caribbean maybe. Her thoughts being deliciously hazy, Lizzie could just imagine not being on a rooftop in London, but on a beautiful beach somewhere far, far away.
She smiled to herself; there could be worse company on a tropical island than Orion. The smile turned into a smirk as she thought about the many different tattoos she knew were decorating his well-toned upper body; she could most definitely imagine having worse company.
Indulging the idea of lounging in the warm sand with a drink and the rushing of the waves in the air a few moments longer, a sudden thought struck her and she sat upright.
“I just had the most brilliant idea.”
Surprised by her unexpected outburst of energy, Orion almost dropped his glass. “I told you smoking broadens the mind,” he said after regaining his composure. “What is it?”
“We should so change our tour display. It’s boring.”
A mixture of intrigue and scepticism showing on his features, Orion tilted his head. “So your suggestion would be?”
Excited by her flash of genius, Lizzie placed her now empty glass on the table between them and leaned forward. “Two words: steel drums.”
Orion didn’t say anything for a moment, a crease forming on his forehead. Then, he broke into a dazzling smile. “That must be the best idea you’ve ever had.”
“I know, right? But it gets even better.”
“How could it get better than steel drums? More steel drums?”
Lizzie contemplated that possibility for a moment but discarded it quickly. “No, I don’t think so.” Her eyes lit up as she thought about her idea. “But you and Ev could totally play ukulele.”
Orion sighed. “Totally.”
A thought seemed to cross his mind. “But I’m not sure Ev can play the ukulele.”
Lizzie was dismayed by this. “I thought if you can play the guitar you can automatically play the ukulele.”
“If you want to call what Ev does playing.”
She had to snort with laughter at Orion’s dry tone. “We’ll just replace him with KC, she’s the prettier one anyway.” The thought of KC performing a hula dance on stage had her laugh even harder.
“There’s a problem though,” Orion broke her out of her entertaining thoughts.
“What’s that?”
“You can’t play the steel drums.”
“Who says that I can’t?”
“Well, can you?”
“I can learn,” Lizzie replied stubbornly. “How hard can that be? You only have one steel drum and I have... “ She frowned as she was trying and failing to envision her drum kit in her head. “How many drums do I have? I can’t remember.”
“More than one, in any case,” Orion laughed and extended his hand towards her empty glass. “You go think about that, and I’ll get you a refill.”
Lizzie was quicker though, snatching the glass out of his reach and getting up. “Don’t worry, I can go myself.”
She walked towards the skylight leading back into the flat but had underestimated the effect of both the drugs and the alcohol on her body. Shaking her head a little, Lizzie took a moment to steady herself.
Just when she thought she had found her balance again, her foot caught in the wire of one of the fairy lights. She stumbled forward with a jolt, ripping the plug right out of its socket and plunging a good portion of the rooftop into darkness.
Luckily for her, Orion didn’t feel the effects of their smoke as much as she did. His reaction time was still quick enough to catch her before she could hit the ground. She could hear the breath leaving his lungs as she collided with his chest; at least he was softer than the floorboards would have been.
He laughed as she straightened up again. “Careful, drummer girl, that was close.”
Lizzie tilted her head as she looked up at him curiously. “You’re close.”
Only now realising their position, Orion mumbled an apology and started to move away from her but Lizzie was quicker. She had already scrambled up onto the seat next to him, still feeling a little dizzy. Her feet were resting on the arm of the lounge chair, her legs lying draped across Orion’s thighs.
“No, it’s alright,” she giggled and leaned against him, “you’re more comfortable than my chair anyway.”
Leaning towards the table to retrieve Orion’s glass, Lizzie’ head started spinning again and she had to grip his shoulder for support. She was glad when she felt Orion’s arm come around her back for added support.
“And besides,” she held the glass up triumphantly before bringing it to her lips, “that way, it’s easier to share this.”
They were sitting like that for a while, Lizzie leaning against Orion’s chest, her head nestled into the crook of his neck, while he had his arms around her. The music she had been hearing earlier was still playing, faintly carrying up towards them. Lizzie had her eyes closed, alternating between listening to the upbeat melody and the calm rhythm of Orion’s heartbeat.
Now that she was relaxing, she became increasingly aware of the combined effects of the many glasses of wine and the spliff they had relit again. She felt as if she was floating through a haze on the soft sound of the steel drums, as if she could fly right into the night sky until she was surrounded by a glittering sea of stars.
The only thing anchoring her was Orion, the steady rising and falling of his chest, the ends of his hair brushing against her cheek when he moved, the touch of his fingers against hers when he handed her back the wine they were sharing.
Her head was spinning and she hooked her finger underneath one of Orion’s woven bracelets, as if the physical holding on to him could prevent the rooftop from revolving around her. The breathy sigh leaving her lips turned into a giggle.
“I don’t know what you’ve put in that stuff but, damn, it packs a punch.”
Orion chuckled, the hand around her back playing with a strand of her ponytail; she had to laugh as he tickled her neck with the ends of it. “There’s nothing out of the ordinary in there.”
She leaned a little away from him so as to better see his face. “So, what is it? Spill it!”
His smile turned into a smirk. “Who am I to tell you all my secrets? A little mystery only adds to the fun.”
Intrigued by his evasiveness, Lizzie raised her eyebrows. “Is that a challenge?”
A curious expression flickered over Orion’s face for a moment. “Maybe.”
“Whatever it is, it’s thoroughly wrecking me,” Lizzie declared; that didn’t stop her from taking another sip of wine, however.
She could hear the laughter ringing in Orion’s voice. “That’s got less to do with the grass and more with all that wine. And the fact that you’re really, really small.”
“I’m not really, really small!” Lizzie replied indignantly.
“Of course you are, look at you; you’re basically a midget.”
Lizzie shoved him playfully, trying to keep a straight face but failing. “I’m not a midget and I’m not small!”
Orion caught her hand without so much as an effort. “Just look at you, you could wear my sweater as a dress.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m the perfect size.”
There it was again, that curious expression Lizzie had seen just a moment before. A crooked smile appeared on Orion’s face as his eyes flickered from her face over the rest of her body.
“I can hardly argue with that.”
Lizzie regarded him for a moment, trying to take his measure. The mood had shifted from the relaxed cuddle they’d shared into something entirely different. There was a sudden tension hanging in the air that made Lizzie’s skin tingle and she was sure that it had nothing to do with either the grass or the alcohol.
The corner of her mouth quirked up. “Is that so?”
She leaned forward again to put the wine glass away, using the momentum to shift her position. Turning slightly, she straddled Orion’s thighs, one arm resting lightly on his shoulder.
His dark eyes followed her every movement as she plucked the joint from his lips, gave it one slow, deliberate drag before putting it out against the wall, never breaking their eye contact. Holding the smoke inside her mouth for one long moment, she dipped her head back and blew it against the night sky. When she looked back at Orion again, his eyes on her were intense, making a shiver run down her spine. His hands were holding her hips, waiting on what she would do. Her lips curved into a smirk as she leaned in, her lips close to his ear.
“Only one way to find out.”
There was nothing hesitant about the way their lips found each other for the first time. Lizzie could taste the same fruity sweetness of the wine on his lips that was still hanging on hers.
Orion’s grip on her waist intensified and she could feel the rough skin of his hands as they found their way underneath her shirt, his fingers feeling deliciously cool against her heated skin. Her breath accelerated as their kiss deepend, her lips parting willingly as Orion’s tongue brushed against her lower lip.
She buried her hands in his long hair, as he pulled her closer, their bodies pressed together as closely as their position would allow. A low moan left Orion’s lips as she softly pulled at his hair, the movement of his head following her lead as he dipped it back into his neck.
Breaking their kiss, Lizzie’s lips started moving over his cheek to his jawline, her breath ghosting over his bare neck. She could see the goosebumps on his skin and feel his fingers dig into her waist as she teasingly ran her tongue over his collarbone. He sucked in his breath in surprise as her teeth nipped the sensitive skin and Lizzie couldn’t help but grin as her lips travelled upwards again.
Capturing his lips in another searing kiss, Lizzie’s breath hitched as his hands were sliding down from her waist over her hips. They came to rest on her bum, squeezing it tightly for a moment. She could feel his jeans becoming tighter as she ran her hand over him, coaxing another moan from his mouth. The sound made the heat spread from her stomach through her chest and into the rest of her body; she wanted to hear more of that.
Her fingers started working to undo his belt when he suddenly stopped her, gently pulling her hand away. Her eyes flew towards his face, a crease appearing on her brow.
“You not okay with this?”
Orion’s eyes were sparkling as he pulled her in for another kiss that took her breath away. When he pulled back, Lizzie’s head was spinning.
“Let’s take this inside,” he muttered into her ear. His voice sounded a lot deeper than what she was used to and she shuddered in anticipation.
Lizzie reluctantly climbed off him to let him get up. Orion couldn’t resist kissing her again, as he walked past her. Taking her hand, he pulled her towards the skylight that led down into the darkness of his flat. He climbed down the steps without a moment of hesitation; Lizzie, however, had to channel her concentration on something different than the burning need to feel Orion’s hands on her skin before tackling the unfamiliar steps.
And sure enough, two steps down, she misplaced her foot and felt herself falling for a moment. But for the second time that evening Orion was there, his hands providing her with something to hold onto.
Standing on the steps, Lizzie was a little taller than him. She gave in to the urge to pull him towards her and steal another kiss from him. His hands ran over her exposed thighs, leaving a trail of goosebumps behind. Lizzie’s muscles tensed when he lifted her off the stairs, her legs wrapping around his midsection as he carried her over to his bed with a few short steps.
He lowered her down onto it and got rid of his shirt. There was no light in the room except for what was falling through the windows from the streetlights outside, but it was enough for Lizzie to see all of the countless tattoos decorating his skin, all the thoughtful quotes and intricate patterns.
She propped herself up on her elbows, locking eyes with him as he joined her on the bed. Reaching for his belt again, this time Orion let her undo it without objection. The deep moan she drew from him as she ran her hand over him a second time made her breathing speed up as well.
Much to her surprise, now that they’d changed location, their roles had reversed themselves. Where Lizzie had been in charge up on the rooftop, it was all she could do to keep her wits together as Orion let his hands roam her body.
The sweater she had still been wearing went almost instantly, quickly followed by her shirt and her shorts. Lizzie closed her eyes and held her breath as Orion worked his way from her lips over her neck, trailing kisses down between her breasts, lingering there for a sweet moment before moving on even lower. His soft lips combined with the bite of his beard almost drove her insane, but Lizzie just so managed to pull herself together.
Pushing him off her, she used his moment of confusion to flip him over, straddling him again. She shuddered at the feeling of him through her pants but pushed the thought aside; not just yet.
“Did you really think I was going to make this so easy for you?” she purred as she twirled his necklace around her finger. She smirked as she slightly repositioned herself on top of him, creating a delicious friction between them that had not only Orion exhale very slowly.
Lizzie pulled her hair tie out, enjoying the tickle as her light brown curls fell down beneath her shoulder blades. She bent forward to kiss Orion again, but he was simply staring at her.
“What?” she asked with a slight chuckle.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered, brushing her hair that had fallen over her shoulder and was almost reaching his bare chest out of her face. Lizzie enjoyed the light pull as he raked his fingers through her mane. “So damn fucking beautiful.”
Lizzie felt a smile form on her lips before she kissed him, teasingly biting his lip. She could feel Orion’s hand wandering up her bare back to where her bra was still hooked. With a practised movement that didn’t surprise her in the least, he undid the clasp and Lizzie shrugged it off. The cool air coming in from the still open skylight hit her bare breasts and made her shiver from more than cold.
Orion’s hands danced over her thighs and up her sides until they found her breasts. Lizzie shuddered as his fingers grazed her sensitive spot at their base, her eyes closed to enjoy the sensation fully, when he suddenly stopped.
Opening her eyes again, she saw a curious look forming on his face as he turned her slightly so the light would better shine on her. Lizzie chuckled to herself; she knew exactly what he was so surprised to see.
“I never knew you had a tattoo,” Orion said, his eyes wandering over the black writing.
He traced his fingers over the inked words sneaking over her ribcage to the base of her breasts; the touch of his calloused fingertips made her sigh.
“You recognise the words?” she whispered with a smile, running her hand over one of Orion’s own tattoos on his chest.
“Unbounded like water, burning like wildfire,” he smiled, “of course I do; I wrote them after all. I had no idea you had them inked.”
She smiled back at him; the quote was taken out of one of her favourite songs Orion had ever written. “They’ve pulled at something in me ever since I heard them for the first time. I wanted to carry them with me wherever I go.”
A series of different emotions flickered over Orion’s face, much too quick for Lizzie to distinguish in the half-light of the room. He sat up, wrapping his arms around her, keeping her close. He kissed her with a passion that took her breath away.
“I want you,” he whispered into her ear, his voice low and husky in his throat, making Lizzie draw a shivering breath as she leaned her forehead against his.
“Then come and take me.”
It was all Orion needed to hear. He let himself fall back onto the bed, drawing her down with him. Their lips met in a passionate kiss before he flipped them around, so he was on top of her.
His head dipped against her shoulder as Lizzie reached down, tracing the edge of his boxers before her fingers disappeared beneath it. She ran them up and down his length, noting how his breath hitched, his arms tensing around her as she worked against him.
He stopped her after a few more strokes and moved away from her hand. Repaying her in kind, he ran his fingers over her pants, so very slowly, his eyes never leaving hers as she moaned at his touch. Hooking his fingers underneath the fabric, he pulled them off, leaving her fully exposed to him, but there wasn’t a single moment Lizzie felt vulnerable at all.
She gasped as Orion began to touch her properly; the touch of his rough fingertips was surprisingly soft, and combined with the trail of kisses he left on her hot skin, he made her feel like she was on fire. Her breathing strained, she managed to rasp out his name just before she would lose it completely.
Never stopping the movement of his hand, Orion looked up at her with a wicked grin on his lips.
“Anything the matter?”
All she wanted was to feel him by now but her words died on her lips as Orion slightly twisted his hand, making her inhale sharply.
With a low chuckle he withdrew his hand, making her miss his touch immediately. That short moment of regret was instantly forgotten when she felt Orion position himself before slowly pushing inside her.
For a fraction of a second, the reality that she was sleeping with one of her best friends hovered on the border of Lizzie’s mind, threatening to hit her; but when Orion started moving against her, their bodies instantly found a common rhythm. They were in tune with each other from the very first moment, all thoughts forgotten.
Their ragged breaths, her sweet sighs and his deep moans were a music of their own. Lizzie had her legs wrapped around Orion, her nails digging into his forearms; she could feel his muscles working underneath her fingers as he supported his weight with his arms. Even through the haze of her drunk and drugged mind, she was impressed with how flawlessly they were working together; his body against hers was feeling so incredibly natural, like they were meant to be that way.
She had no idea how, but just like before, Orion managed to hit all the right spots at the same time. Lizzie had trouble focusing on anything but the fire building inside her. She couldn’t form a coherent thought anymore, wasn’t able to think any further than the next breath, the next shock of pleasure Orion sent through her body as they moved.
Feeling she was almost there, her hold on him tightened as he picked up the pace, shifting slightly to take a little strain off his arms. Taken by surprise at the suddenly different angle, digging her fingers into Orion’s shoulders was all Lizzie could do as her high crashed over her like a tidal wave. Her body shook as she buried her face against Orion’s chest, clinging to him as if for dear life.
Hearing his name fall from her lips in a broken moan with her nails biting into his back, Orion couldn’t last much longer either. Their rhythm became an off-beat one, his movements more erratic than before. Lizzie could feel the muscles in his back tremble as he rode out his own high. His head dipped into the crook of her neck as both their breathings were starting to slow.
Orion stayed on top of her for a moment longer and kissed her one last time before pushing himself off of her. Lizzie breathed in deeply, running her hand over her tangled hair.
“Huh,” she chuckled, “who would’ve thought.”
“Who indeed,” Orion smirked.
The sizzling tension between them from before was gone and it just felt like it had always done between them; relaxed, familiar and completely natural.
They looked at each other for a moment before simultaneously bursting into laughter, nothing more than friends again, the sound carrying through the dark, out of the window and into the black night sky.

Tumblr media
" Wait so you're breaking up with me? " I say
" You heard what I said we are done! "
" BUT- I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING... "
" That's the thing I can't keep a secret anymore I don't...  Love " you " anymore.. "
" Oh. " I say as my heart just shattered into a million pieces.
" Yeah sorry I can't go on like this... “
Now back to the present day:
" WAIT SO HE REALLY SAID THAT? " Semi shouted in the studio.
" YEA HE DID... WHAT a jerk"
Well... at least your single for the biggest party of the year! " Semi nudged my elbow
" YAY! A party after getting told "I don't love you anymore... " I rolled my eyes
" Well at the party you can meet new guys! You never know you might be the one.. "                                                                                                                      " OH hell no! I'm so over guys right now, all I'm  going to do is drink my sorrows away."                                                                                                                      " Oh gosh when you get drunk it's the funniest thing ever.. " Semi says as he tries to keep in his laughter                                                                                      " YEA YEA WHATEVER! "
The last time I drank was at an after-party after a huge photoshoot I did for a model... And let's just say I broke my arm.
" Ok well Semi if I'm going to your party tonight I have to get going so I can get ready! " I tell him as I get up from the studio chair.
" Ok don't be late! It starts at 10pm!  " he shouts as I leave the studio doors. Was I excited for the party?
Maybe a little bit after getting dumped it wasn't the best thing to do. I do need a distraction from the whole thing, so maybe the party will do wonders! I mean I'm still young after all, I'm only 22.. I just have to live my 20s like a huge party....YEA THATS MORE LIKE IT!
After getting lost in thought my stomach started growling .  To be fair it was 7pm and I haven't eaten since 5am.
I looked around to see if there was any nearby places to eat on my phone. There was a place called " Onigiri Miya " only about 3 minutes away.
So I got into my car and drove there. Once I got there I parked in an empty spot and hop out of the car.
I walked into the restaurant only to get greeted by a guy about my age. He has dark hair and he was wearing his work uniform. Not gonna lie he was pretty good-looking.
" Hi! Can I get a 3 Salmon flake onigiri! " I say
" Yes of courses 3 Salmon flake onigiri coming right up and total will be 700 yen." the young man says.
I paid him 700 yen after that I sit in the restaurant waiting for my food. All of a sudden I heard yelling from the back.
" ATSUMU HELP ME  MAKE SOME ONIGIRI! I NEED TO TAKE THEM TO A PARTY AROUND 10! "
" OSAMU IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOU TOOK UP THIS OFFER! "
I assume the one name Osumu is the one who took my order. Also, they have to make onigiri for a party that starts at 10? Maybe he is catering for Semi party..
After hearing the bickering between the two males in the back. Osamu comes out with the 3 huge salmon onigiri.
" There you go miss.. " he said as he gave me the bag to go.
" Ah thank you so much! ‘
" Not a problem please do come back soon!" he said as I walk towards the door. I gave him a small little wave.
I got into my car and drove straight to my apartment to get ready for the party. It was already about 8:30, I still needed to get dressed.
So I hit straight for the shower after I put on a pink short sequin mini dress. Next, I straighten my short/long hair, then I did some light makeup.
Once I was done getting ready I check the time and it was 9:30. I was only about 20 minutes away from the building where the party was being hosted it at. I leave my house and get going to the party.
I got there I could see a crowd of people waiting to get in. LUCKY FOR ME being friends with Semi I don't have to wait to get in.
I park my car, as I get out of the car I text semi that I'm here so he can bring me to the party.
5 minutes later
Y/N! OVER HERE! " Semi yelled while waving his arms.
" I'M COMING! "
" Oh wow, you look really good! Watch out some guys are going to try to hit on ya! " Semi said laughing.
" Oh gosh, I'm so over guys right now. " I said.                                                      " Ok whatever, let's get into the party! "
" Yay! " I say sarcastically.                                                                                Once Semi opened the back door, we were at the party. Purple lights were everywhere, there was a bar on the left. Everywhere you would go there would be someone dancing or girls flirting with boys.
" SHEEZ Semi this party is pretty big! " I yell over the music.
" DIDNT I tell you it was going to be one of the biggest parties! " He said.
" I didn't think that big! "
"It's a party it should be BIG! " Semi said as we
walked through the crowd. Then he stop near a table where  Tendou and Ushijima were at.
" Hey, guys! " Semi waves at them
" Hey Hey! " Tendou said jumping.
" Why you guys here? Tendou wanted to come huh! " I say looking at Ushijima.
" Yea Tendou wanted to come, I don't trust him at parties especially when he drinks. " Ushijima said in his usual monotone voice.
" He gets crazy huh! " I ask Ushijima Ushijima just nodded.
" HAHA BE CAREFUL When y/n drinks she brok- . "
" SEMI YOU DON'T NEED TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT MY EMBARRASSING STORY.. "
" I'm just saying Be careful with her tonight," Semi said as he walked away with other people. " Well EXCUSE ME BOYS ILL BE HANGING AROUND THE BAR NOW! "
" Be careful y/n don't drink too much" Ushijima said
" YEA  BE CAREFUL USHIWAKA can't take care of 2 Drunk adults tonight! " Tendou said laughing.
" YEA YEA ILL BE GOING NOW! "
I walked through the party, and I kept running into people. I was so over this night already but I'm a good friend and I need to stay for Semi.
Once I got to the bar I asked the bartender for a Bloody Mary.  I was not having it after a break up especially.
Soon before I knew it I had about 6 shots and was already drunk.
As I sat there a random guy about my age sat next to me.
I was already out of it but it seems like he was trying to flirt. I'm not in the mood for this, so I get up from the chair. All of a sudden the man grabs my arm. Who the heck does he think he is?
" When I'm talking you stay and listen! " the man says.
" Yea no! " I say as I try to leave his grip.
" You aren't leaving unti-"
There I did it I slapped him... Damn, that was pretty bold of me!
" You ho- " the man said as he tried to hit me but someone stopped his hand.
" Don't you see she drunk ? " the blonde guy said.
At this point, I have no idea what's going on but this blonde muscular guy just helped me... I think...

Anpanman: Apple Boy and Everyone's Hope (2014)
Introduction
Fox's primary free-to-use streaming service, Tubi, had announced that they would be picking up at least 10 of the Anpanman movies to be released in English and Spanish back last October, with them slated for a fall 2020 release. This never happened, so many fans of the Anpanman franchise that spoke native English or Spanish would have to wait a little longer for dubs of these movies to come out.
The delay of these movie dubs went unannounced, leading fans to speculate that the dub was either in limbo or just silently canceled. This was until the first of them was released on April 15, 2021, with no announcement, or even complete details on who is dubbing them or the cast list. This had fans believing for a short while that the dub had taken a bit longer to assure its quality, but as you will soon read, this was most likely not the case.
Naturally, fans were excited as this was the first time these movies would see an official dubbed release in the west. There were other dubs of the franchise in English and Spanish, such as an English dub of the television series made for India that aired on Pogo, and a Spanish made in Spain sometime in the 1990s. However, these dubs are hard to come by and there are no official ways to watch these dubs in North America, as far as I'm aware.
Promo for the Indian Pogo dub posted by @doraedoramichan2021 on YouTube: https://youtu.be/oxAx5EEdX_4
So now we have an official dub of one of the movies that can be watched at no charge with ads. Joy!

Plot synopsis (spoilers below)
Tumblr media
The plot starts with Dokin (spelled as "Dokeen" in the dub) and Horrorman (dubbed as "Horror") as they read a book of fairy tales, landing on Snow White. They end up accidentally releasing a shadowy figure from the book as it flies off into the darkness.
Meanwhile, Melonpanna's and Creampanda's (spelled "Cream Panda" in the dub) class are making sketches of the ocean. This is where Baikinman comes in to cause trouble for them with his giant crab robot. Anpanman rushes in from the blue to beat the tar out of Baikinman to save the day as the theme song plays in the background.
After that, we cut to the movie's other titular character, Apple Boy, attempting to fly his hot air balloon over the ocean. After the balloon falls to the ocean, he is swept away by the current.
A whale finds him dehydrated and floating lifeless in the ocean, where he gives him to Anpanman so he can help. After offering a piece of his anpan head to Apple Boy, he takes him to Uncle Jam's bakery, where Uncle Jam and Batako let him stay while they wait for a new shipment of apples from SL-Man.
Back at Baikinman's lair, he discovers that the book of fairy tales was being read by Dokeen and Horror. Looking very worried, he explains to the two of them that he was told never to open that book.
Anpanman, Melonpanna, and Cream Panda find SL-Man with the apples, Baikinman comes by to ruin the apples with his giant caterpillar robot. After Anpanman slows him down, Melonpanna and Cream Panda take SL-Man to the bakery.
Uncle Jam and Batako receive the apples and make them into apple juice. They give the juice to Apple Boy which he quickly drinks and rejuvenates from.
As Anpanman is still fighting Baikinman, Melonpanna and Cream Panda come back with Apple Boy for assistance. Apple Boy ends up beating him by planting an instantly-growing apple seed on the robot's tongue, where Anpanman then punches him into the next time zone.
That evening at the bakery, Apple Boy explains to the crew, with Shokupanman (dubbed as Bread-head Man) and Currypanman there as well, that he needs his balloon to search for the fabled magic apple seeds that can apparently grow the biggest apples anyone has ever seen. Anpanman, Mellonpanna, and Cream Panda help him search for the tree that gives off the magic seeds, while Bread-head Man and Currypanman search for the Apple Balloon. With no luck in finding the tree, they return to the bakery.
As the heroes in the bakery are setting off to find Appleina, an apple girl who might have clues as to where one can find the magic seeds, Horror informs Baikinman and Dokeen of the whole situation through a mock TV newscast.
Once at Appleina's, she shows the crew (and by extension the young audience this movie caters to) how to grow large apples. After many hardships of growing the trees, they finally blossom. Just as they are admiring their hard work, a bunch of bats swoop in and suck the life out of all the other apple trees around them. Unrelated to this, Baikinman attempts to steal all the apples for himself.
At this point, the bats go together to form the wich from the Snow White book that Dokeen and Horror were reading at the beginning of the film, revealing that she was the shadowy figure at the beginning of the movie that escaped from the book.
The witch turns everyone into moldy apples for no other reason than she is evil. The only ones left standing are Apple Boy and Appleina. Uncle Jam and Batako rush to bake Anpanman a new anpan head so he can turn back from apple form and be powered up enough to beat the witch. However, the witch destroys the Anpanman Blimp's oven, meaning they can't bake the head. Apple Boy stuns the witch with the power of a magic apple that he ended up growing. This also bakes the cold head into a perfectly cooked one, giving Uncle Jam and Batako the chance to turn Anpanman back to normal.
They successfully do this and Anpanman beats the witch back into the storybook, as the movie ends and everyone sings about apples.
My opinions
Before you say it, I am fully aware this movie is made for young children, but that is no excuse not to have a quality movie in my opinion. If anything, kids deserve more good content so they can learn and remember seeing that content for years to come. It just makes me feel bad for these children who watch movies that don't have much substance purely because they are "made for children."
The movie itself
The movie is average at best, and boring at worst. I did type out a pretty large plot synopsis for this movie, making it sound like a lot, but there really was not as much as you would think. This movie is only 46 minutes in total too, so there really should have been more here. Like, there was some emotional stuff going on with Apple Boy back on the Apple Planet he came from, but it's never really relevant to the story, nor the series as a whole because of him being made for this movie and only this movie. The movie also has a surprising amount of filler. Like, the part where I briefly mention Anpanman looking for the tree is a montage in the movie that lasts about two minutes, along with a scene where Apple Boy falls off a cliff, which is also not relevant to the main plot. I want to say a good quarter of this movie in total was filler, so we only have about 33 minutes of actual plot.
The writing that is there is also broken. I believe that the most entertaining part about this series is the series villains, Baikinman, Dokeen, and Horror. They don't make too many appearances in this movie to serve as comic relief, rather, Baikinman feels shoved in here to serve as more padding to make that over-40-minute time slot. There are also parts of the movie that make absolutely no sense under any perspective, not just an outsider's. Like, why does giving Anpanman a new head suddenly transform him from a moldy apple back to normal?
Overall, I feel as though both adults and children would be bored to death by this movie. 3/10.
Dubbing quality
If the movie itself wasn't soleless enough, the dubbing somehow makes this worse.
The movie was dubbed by Macias Group, a Florida-based studio that is best known for dubbing English shows into Spanish but does have some English dubbing in their catalog.
Tumblr media
They had hired voice actors that I have not even heard of, nor do I think anyone else has. This doesn't make the dubbing automatically bad, in fact, a no-name cast can be quite good if given the right direction. However, this cast I feel did not give enough life to the characters. Some characters sound fine, like Horror or Dokeen, but others sound like the actor is struggling to put on a good performance, like Baikinman.
The characters also tend to speak in a way I like to call "Dora the Explorer Syndrome." It's kind of hard to explain what this is over text, but characters will talk extremely slowly for the young children, along with sounding considerably condescending. Watch the first two minutes of a Dora episode and compare it to this movie and you'll hear what I mean.
The voice acting itself sounds a bit bland and flat, almost like the actors didn't really care for their roles and were just doing it for a small paycheck. I don't blame them, really. An obscure series that they most likely haven't even heard of streaming exclusively on an unpopular streaming service most likely won't pay too high certainly wouldn't get me motivated. To do something like this, it needs to pay high enough or be on a service where it will get more notoriety, and most importantly, the people need to have a passion for the project and voice acting in general, neither of which sounded like they were here. I also heard a bit of recording echo, but I'm going to chalk that up to the actors recording at home rather than a booth due to COVID restrictions. If the dub had a bit more heart, then I probably would have liked it that much more.
I feel as though some of the name changes could have been better. Like some were unnecessary like Dokin to Dokeen or Horrorman to Horror, but things like Baikinman and Anpanman were kept the same, which probably needed the most explanation to an English audience.
The iconic songs from the Japanese version were also translated to English, which is a rarity in 2021 dubbing land. However, the songs sound off from their Japanese counterparts. If you were to listen to the theme song (https://youtu.be/3qSiSWTJkzw) or the closing song (https://youtu.be/c4DY7xmLlQI), you hear that they are bouncy, happy, and catchy. The English versions sound a bit off-beat to the rhythm these songs are supposed to be in. Now, I don't mind if the rhythm is a bit different so it can be optimized to the English language better, but here, it's so off it makes the songs sound worse. Most likely, the singers were given no direction and only listened to the Japanese version a few times. Not only that, but the lyrics are nearly directly translated from Japanese, also messing with the flow of the songs. When listening to the Japanese musical tracks, it almost makes you wonder what could have been.
Overall, the dubbing is not too good and probably could have done better either with a different cast with more motivation, or a whole 'nother studio behind the wheel.
Final thoughts and other recommendations
If you do want another English dub of Anpanman that I think is miles better, watch the fandub by Thomas Blue on Fandubbers Unite, starring myself as Anpanman (renamed to Bean-bun Man) and @clwsblog as Baikinman (renamed to Cavity Creep). It has better writing, better acting, and better songs. Both kids and adults alike will enjoy this version. Before you ask me, no, there is no bias here. I truly believe we did it better and for no pay!
Here is a link to Thomas Blue's dub:

If you really want to watch the official English though, even after my warnings, then go ahead. Here's a link to the Tubi listing:
