They were an oddity.
How could such a meek and bashful thing like them end up in this fiery inferno.
Alastor watched from the bar as they bumped into the check-in counter and squeaked before getting off balance and falling.
Clumsy, jumpy, barely making a sound other than some odd squeaks.
Yes, they were quite the wonder.
An entertaining one.
You were somewhat new to Hell. At least two weeks in.
There was an accident where you worked in the aquarium and well..you kinda caused a mass drowning? It sounds impossible but it happened.
It was very challenging to get up after your fall, but you managed and wound up at the hotel.
With the help of the Princess, you were able to figure out what kind of demon you are. It came with pros but it also came with cons. One con being that you couldn't speak unless you wanted to hypnotize someone.
It made you a little sad, but also relieved. You didn't do well around others, too shy to speak up or get involved with anything that put you in the spotlight.
Maybe it was for the best.
There would be one thing you wouldn't give up though.
Alastor was in the hotel's library.
There wasn't a whole lot of demons coming into this room, especially after some guests saw him walk in here a few times.
It didn't matter. At least there were multiple things that could entertain him. A small music room with instruments, projectors in another with film reels and other types of tapes, and the most dazzling room of all was the astronomy room.
The Princess made sure to have this room's dome ceiling painted with an accurate mural of the Earth's night sky.
Deciding to mess with the trinkets on the shelves, the demon in red walked towards the back of the room and glanced at the star charts. Tapping at some of the books and measuring tools on the desk nearby before sitting down on a chair.
No one ventured this far into the library. He was probably the only demon who knew of this room's existence.
And then he heard something.
Someone had entered the room.
Turning around and looking between the shelves, Alastor spots the timid demon that he enjoys flustering so much near the armillary sphere in the middle.
A little spook wouldn't be too bad.
He thought with a small grin, starting to summon up a shadow creature. However both dissipated when there was a note sung into the air.
"Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it lying upside down
When you finally find it, you'll see how its faded
The underside is lighter when you turn it around "
The Radio Demon sat there, mouth agape as they sang.
"Everything stays right where you left it
Everything stays
But it still changes
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
In little ways, when everything stays "
Like a siren- a water sprite? A nymph? It was hard to pinpoint what he could compare their voice to.
It was other worldly.
Their voice echoed due to the room's acoustics.
He didn't notice that he had gotten out of the chair, didn't notice he was making his way towards them, didn't notice when they stopped singing until they gasped.
Blinking out of his trance, he found them facing him and covering their mouth with their hands. A panicked look in their eyes.
"You stopped.", Alastor spoke up. "Why not finish?"
They shook their head quickly and backed away.
Before he could say something else, they moved their arms down, one made into a fist on their chest and moving in a circle clockwise. Then they ran out. (Sorry)
He stood there for a while, his smile widening. Maybe there was more to them than he thought.
How interesting~

It was dark outside when you had woken up from being startled because of Jack moving around your shared bedroom. You had been waiting for him to come home since he had been gone all day, but your eyes began to get heavy around midnight and you knew that you wouldn’t be able to last much longer. You grabbed your phone from the nightstand to look to see what the time it was and it was 3:36 in the morning when Jack had promised you that he would be home no later than 8 PM.
"Babe? Are you just now getting home?" You softly asked as he began to take off his sweatshirt.
"Shit. I didn't mean to wake you up. Things just ran over a little bit." He threw it across the room and it landed in the hamper perfectly while you sat up to plug your phone into the charger.
"A little bit? You were supposed to be back at 8 PM LAST NIGHT. It is now 3 in the morning. Did you eat anything? How much water did you drink today? I don't want you getting headaches like you were before."
"Y/N, I'm not doing this with you right now. I need to go to sleep because I need to leave by 9."
"I… I'm just worried about you. I need you to slow down and take a break once in a while. I planned for us to do something around 5. Do you think you'll be done by then?" You asked as Jack has gotten in the bed to lay down next to you and pulled the comforter over himself.
"What are you worried about me for? I'm fine. Don't I need to keep a roof over your head? So let me do what I need to do since you're always asking me for expensive ass shit."
"Really? I'm worried because my boyfriend is a workaholic and a people pleaser that doesn't know how to say no sometimes and his girlfriend would like to spend more time with him."
"When things slow down, I will. I promise, but I can't let up now."
"What about meeting up with me at 5? Just us for a date."
"I'm not about to tell you yes and then I get busy and not show up because that will cause a whole new issue."
"I just don't get why you’re being so defensive about me wanting to spend time with you. Don't blame it on you being busy because when your second album came out you still made me a priority despite everything going on around you."
All Jack did was sigh and roll his eyes which you quickly caught on to.
"Y/N, I'm only going to get five hours of sleep and arguing with you is cutting into that. Can we just let it go and continue it later?"
"Seriously? And when is later because I never see you."
All Jack did was throw the comforter away from him and hop up out of the bed.
"Baby, where are you going?"
"To the guest room to get some fucking sleep since I'm clearly not going to get it in here."
"I… come on don't be like that. I just…."
"I'll probably be gone by the time you wake up." Jack muttered before making his way out of the bedroom and leaving you upset.
You waited about an hour or so before going to peek in on Jack who was sound asleep. All you wanted at the very least was for him to sleep next to you and at least hold you, but it seems like nowadays that was asking for too much. You softly walked to the left side of the bed and crawled in next to him and he was startled by the movement.
"Y/N..." Jack started to say but you immediately cut him off.
"Can you at least hold me so I'll sleep better. I didn't come in here to argue. I just want you close to me."
All he did was raise his left arm and you cuddled closer to him as he wrapped it around you and it almost seemed forced like he didn't want to do it.
"I love you, Jack." You whispered to him, but all you got were his soft snores in response letting you know that he had fallen back asleep.
You felt your eyes watering and the tears slowly ran down your face and you did your best to even your breathing so that you wouldn't wake him up again.
You just simply wanted your loving boyfriend back who would always spend time with you and never made you feel as if you were a burden.
When you woke up, just as he told you Jack was long gone and you simply let out a sigh. When he left early like that he would usually send you a text message that said good morning and how much he loved you, but you didn't know the last time he did that. You would usually send them and now they went unanswered.
You had some work to do yourself and had been working from home for the past few days. You couldn't quite put your finger on what it was that was bothering you besides the obvious with Jack, but you didn't feel 100%.
Hoping that a hot shower would help, you hung eucalyptus at the top of it to open you up so that you could breathe better and lost track of time of how long you had been in there.
Once finished, you got dressed and decided to bring your laptop to the living room in order to watch some movies for some background noise and order some food since you hadn't felt like cooking.
You nibbled at your food all day while you worked and when 5 PM came around of course Jack was nowhere to be found. You had sent a few texts throughout the day to ask how things were going and all he was doing was reading them and not responding, making you grow frustrated.
Around 10 PM, since you still didn't feel well, you made yourself a cup of ginger tea in hopes that would help and made your way upstairs to your room not even bothering to wait for Jack. It was clear that he didn't want to talk to you so you weren't about to force him.
When you woke up it was around 7 in the morning and you had felt worse than you did the night before. Jack wasn't next to you and you heard the shower running so you assumed that he was getting ready to go out and leave you by yourself…. Again.
Once he came out the shower, you couldn't help but to blurt it out.
"Baby, can you please stay home with me today?" You couldn't put your finger on as to why, but you didn't want to be by yourself.
"Y/N…. What is it now? Didn't we already talk about this?" He answered and had an immediate attitude.
"I just don't feel that well and want you to keep me company. It's just for a day.  You can miss one day."
"What don't you get when I say that I have to provide for us? You saying that you don't feel good is just another excuse to try and get me to stay home and start an argument. You look fine to me and I can't believe you would pretend to be sick for me to stay."
"Just say you hate me and go." You muttered and stormed into the bathroom while locking the door behind you.
"Why would you even say that?! I don't hate you!"
You didn't bother responding and simply brushed your teeth and washed your face. You could hear him moving around the bedroom and once you heard his keys, you knew he was getting ready to leave despite your protests. All you could do was sigh and attempt to go on about your day.
By noon, you couldn't focus and no amount of medicine was helping you feel any better so you decided to get dressed and head to the grocery store in the hopes of getting ingredients to make some soup and hopefully you would be able to keep it down. You had gotten to the couch downstairs and were putting on your shoes when you suddenly felt lightheaded. You gave it a few minutes to let it pass before standing up. And once you did, your head immediately hit the floor.
Jack was in the studio and cursed to himself. Nothing had been going right that morning and be felt that it was low key his Karma for blowing you off.
"What's wrong?" Urban asked while seeing his frustration.
"Could you do me a favor and go to my condo to get a sample hard drive that I forgot? I don't want to see Y/N."
"Wait, what? Why? Are you two fighting again? You've been fighting a lot more than usual."
"I just don't want to deal with her right now."
All Urban did was sigh because he hated seeing the two of you at odds. He didn't want to get in the middle of it, so he didn't bother saying anything.
"Be right back."
When Urban walked through the door, he called out to you but when you didn't answer he was confused. Your car was still in the driveway and he could hear the television playing so he wasn't quite sure what was going on.
He walked further into the condo into the living room to discover you on the floor and not moving.
"SHIT! Y/N!" Urban said while rushing over towards you and trying to tap you to wake up.
"Come on, wake up!"
Nothing he was doing was working and he quickly pulled out his phone to dial 911.
"Hello 911, what is the address of your emergency?"
Jack was growing increasingly inpatient and was wondering where Urban was since it had been at least two hours since he left. His condo wasn't that far from the studio and he figures that you had coerced Urban into staying with you and gave him the same sorry excuse of not feeling well that you told him earlier.
It was another 45 minutes before Urban stormed into the studio pissed off and red in the face.
"Do you not know how to answer your fucking phone anymore?!"
"What? You were coming right back anyway. It's been on DND all day. What took you so long?"
"Your girlfriend is what took me so long." Jack immediately rolled his eyes.
"Oh, did she give you that same bullshit ass excuse of her not feeling well?"
"You are such a fucking dumbass. When I got there she was on the floor, passed out! So when she told you that she didn't feel well, she wasn't lying! The paramedics were asking me all these questions that I didn't know the answer to since I didn't even know how long she had been on the floor or if she hit her head!"
"Wait, what?"
"You fucking heard me, your girl is in the hospital and hadn't even woken up when I left because I had to rush to get to your dumbass to tell you since your phone is on DND. The hospital had been trying to call you ever since she got there!"
All Jack did was mutter fuck under his breath and immediately started to feel guilty.
You had been telling the truth the entire time and all you wanted to do for the past few weeks is spend time with him and all he did was ignore you.
"I…."
"Just come on, I'll drive." Urban said and all Jack did was nod his head as a million thoughts were running through his mind.
Urban sped through traffic and made it back to the hospital in record time. Jack barely gave him a chance to stop the car at the entrance before jumping out and trying to get to you as soon as possible.
He immediately ran to the desk to ask the secretary where you were before she gave him directions to your room down the hallway.
Once he reached your room, he saw you sitting up with your head resting in your hand while the other was flipping through channels on television that was in the front of the room.
"Baby?" Jack said as he entered the room and all you did was look at him.
"Um, what happened?" He asked again and all you did was sigh.
"Don't you have somewhere else more important to be?" You asked while turning away from him to look at the TV.
"What? You're important to me, you're my priority."
"You can save the bullshit because I don't want to hear it. You know this is the first day that you called me baby and not by my first name in almost three weeks?"
"I… I'm sorry I was busy, but I'm here now." Jack tried to take your hand, but you quickly pulled it away.
"And you can leave. I don't need you here or want you here, you have to keep a roof over our heads, remember?"
"I know you’re mad at me, pissed is more like it for good reason but I just want you to talk to me."
"Oh, so now you want to talk? When you thought something might have happened to me? You have been acting like I bother you with everything that I say and you wondered why I said that you hated me this morning. I'm being admitted for the night so you'll be able to get your rest without me bothering you. I'll get Urban to pick me up tomorrow so that you can continue to provide for us. Now, you can leave so you can go and do that."
"You haven't even told me what's going on with you! I'm not leaving!"
"Why? So you can pretend to act like you care? I have started not to be able to recognize you anymore and I don't like the person that you're becoming so do me a favor and get out of my sight."
You had been home for a few days and Jack actually ended up staying the night with you in the hospital despite your protests.
Long story short, you fainted because you were dehydrated and the stress that you had been under didn't help either.
Jack had been walking on eggshells around you since that day and was staying with you at home to make sure you had everything that you needed without having to lift a finger. However, now he was getting on your nerves because he wouldn't let you out of his sight. It sh
"Babe, when's the last time you drank water?"
"2006."
"Y/N! I'm trying to make sure you stay hydrated. I don't want you fainting again."
"I'm fine for the millionth time so you can leave. It's amazing how much free time you have now." You fired back and all he did was sigh.
"I never properly apologized to you and I'm sorry for making you feel like I didn't care about you and you should have never had to beg for me to spend time with you. I just get so wrapped up in my head with work that it's all that I focus on. I promise to do better moving forward and never make you feel that way ever again. I want this and I want us for the long haul."
“I don’t want you to promise me anything, instead show me by your actions.”
“Can I have a kiss to help me get started?” Jack asked while pouting and you immediately rolled your eyes before leaning over to kiss him since he sat next to you.
“Uhhh I need one more for strength and maybe two more for good luck.”
“I… look now.”
“Please?!”
You obliged while leaning over to kiss him and he quickly pulled you onto his lap.
“I love you and I should never go that long without telling you again.” Jack whispered against your lips.
“I’m going to hold you to that.”

So I had this idea for a Moxxie and Baby!Reader. Reader is the child of Millie and Moxxie. Maybe something like you did with the Raine one? I just thought it would be adorable. Moxxie would be a great dad. He also sings. To me it would be perfect.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
Everything Stays
Moxxie Knolastname / Baby!Reader / Millie Knolastname
Reader is around 1-2. They can't talk or walk yet
"Everythign stays right where you left it,
Everything stays, but it still changes
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly,
In little ways,
Everything stays."
----
The crying from the room down the hall woke Millie first. She rubbed her eyes, preparing to get up for the third time tonight. Moxxie pulled her back down into a hug.
"Let me get them this time."
"Thank Satan."
She laid back down on her back and Moxxie pecked her on the lips as she smiled sleepily. He stood up, pulling his shirt down from where it had rolled up.
The lights were off, but the night light from the open door to their child's bedroom lit the hall as his hooves stalked quietly across the floor. He creaked the door open and the baby squealed, as if the noise had spooked them, and Moxxie automatically apologized. He leaned over the crib and the baby imp whined quietly.
"Hey, sweethaeart."
He whispered, picking them up and rocking them gently. Y/N let out another cry, balling their tiny hands into fists. Moxxie tilted his head as he examined the crib.
Several of the stuffed animals were thrown from the crib, littering the floor with furry animals. He spotted Loona, their favorite stuffed animal that weirdly resembled his boss's daughter, and handed it to them carefully.
Y/N brightened immediately, gripped the hellhound stuffy for dear life. Moxxie chuckled, resting the baby back in the crib and kissing their forehead.
He turned for the door, but the sound of a light squeak from behind, and the thud of Loona hitting the floor a step behind him made him stop and turn around.
"What do you want now, huh? Loona not enough?"
"Loooona." They responded, gesturing to the ceiling wildly. Moxxie huffed, giving them the stuffy again.
"You're not very tired, are you?"
"HatatA."
"Well, shucks. That settles it then. How about a song?"
Y/N mutters something in response and Moxxie lowers the side of the crib to sit on the floor, making their heads level. He kneels, resting his head on Y/N's mattress, putting his hand palm up next to them and letting them grip the fingers gently.
"Let's go in the garden, you'll fond something waiting, right there where you left it, lying upside down."
"You used to sing that when I was still pregnant with them."
Millie whispers, kneeling next to him and resting her chin on his shoulder, hugging Moxxie from behind.
"When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded, the underside is lighter when you turn it around."
Y/N whispers something, shutting their eyes. Millie grips Moxxie a little tighter, sniffing quietly.
"Everythign stays right where you left it, everything stays, but it still changes, ever so slightly, daily and nightly, in little ways, everything stays."
Y/N's asleep by the end of the verse and Moxxie gently slips Loona in Y/N's grip in place of his hand. He sits up more, holding Millie's hands where they loop over his chest. She kisses his cheek lovingly.
"Come on. Let's go back to bed."
"Be right there."
She exits the room, wiping her face. Moxxie stands, slipping the side of the crib up again and pulling one if the blankets up to Y/N's hips. He turns, but his eyes widen when Y/N makes a noise.
"Dada?"
"Yes, sunshine?"
Y/N yawns sleepily, making grabby hands loosely in his direction. Moxxie smiles, kissing their forehead and pushing the tuft of hair out if their face.
"Goodnight, Y/N."
There's a flash of a camera and Blitzo curses from outside the window before falling dramatically from his perch. Moxxie just blinks and shuts the curtains, heading back to bed while Y/N's giggles break into a snore.

Garden Nights- 141

A/n: I just felt like I needed to add this cute little thing to it
Everything Stays
Based on a request:
This past mission, things were rough for everyone. It was around 1 am when the team had found themselves looking at the ceiling of the safe house. You could sleep pretty easily, but not them. So you did as you knew best when problems like this would present themselves. You had recently started to sing yourself to sleep when alone, so if it could help you, it must help the others.
Soap and Gaz were giving each other rude glares and Price tried to pretend he didn't see it by placing his hat on his face. Ghost watched it all but didn't care.
You rested against a wall by the door as you watched this all unfold.
You stared at the ceiling and took a deep breath.
"stop looking at me like that Mactavish" "why don't YOU stop it first Garrick" "Let's go in the garden You'll find something waiting" You in a soft tone sang as the men all focused on you.
"Right there where you left it lying upside down When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded"
Your eyes closed, but your voice remaining so soft and sweet.
"The underside is lighter when you turn it around" Price smiled as soon he was the first to sleep to this trap.
"Everything stays right where you left it Everything stays But it still changes" Gaz nods at you and he crossed his arms as he too was the second to fall into this.
"Ever so slightly, daily and nightly In little ways, when everything stays"
You turned to the men, your eyes softening as your captain and buddy were asleep. Soap gave you a little smile and he rested his head on Kyle's shoulder, adjusting himself as his eyes closed. "Go down to the ocean The crystal tide is raising Waters' gotten higher as the shore washes out Keep your eyes wide open, even when the sun is blazin' The moon controls the tide, it can cause you to drown" You looked at Ghost. In this light he looked so peaceful, but he wouldn't sleep, no, not until you finished this little song. Although he wore his mask, you could read his eyes, they were so beautiful with this light, he and you sat across each other, he gave you a small nod, you knew under that mask he had at least a small smile on. You smiles at him, your eyes never leaving his "Everything stays, right where you've left it Everything stays, but it still changes Ever so slightly, daily and nightly In little ways When everything stays" He gives you one last nod and he adjusts himself, he closed his eyes. "thanks kid" He whispered before he too fell asleep. You smile as you looked around the room, the men all asleep, their little snores filling the room. A little song wasn't what you needed, no, it was watching them all sleep comfortably, making them feel better made you feel happy and..sleepy.

✨ GOMENS FIC RECS ✨
i asked for people's favorite fics and sharing is caring :)
(i included my own recs as well)
feel free to reblog and add more!
❤️ recommended by @oldzhishen ❤️
Crown of Thorns series by irisbleufic (rating G-E)
This series was never intended to be a series as such: I wrote "A Better Place" in the wake of rather accidentally getting to ask a certain question (What are Aziraphale and Crowley doing on the South Downs, anyway?) of both authors within a week of each other back in 2005 and actually getting an answer (Sharing a cottage), thinking it'd just be a happy little one-off. But something curious happened when my Good Omens Exchange 2010 assignment resulted in "The Walls, the Wainscot, and the Mouse." From that point onward, interest in this little 'verse slowly, but steadily picked up momentum, and I kept finding more stories to tell. Some of the characters that appear herein (Phillippa [Pippa] Morrison, the Mouse, Amanda [Mandy] Tomlin, Uriel, Raphael, et al.) first turned up in my one and only attempt at a second-Apocalypse dark mirror universe, A Crown of Stars (AO3 posting of same) and its follow-ups, which predates this series considerably. The two universes parallel each other, but this one is, for our purposes, post novel-canon and set in our reality. That's pretty much what you need to know. Thank you all for continuing to read and also for giving this project life. I'll continue to add stories and ficlets until I run out of ideas or until my heart stops (whichever comes first)! The current existing pieces are complete; the series overall is ongoing on an as-and-when basis, which means that the time between additions may be weeks or months or, in rare instances, up to a year.
Madman and a Fool by loserchildhotpants (rating E)
God considers Crowley's unyielding pining for Aziraphale, his acts during the End of the World, and his very genuine desire to protect Aziraphale, worth rewarding. She can't make him an Angel again, but She can nudge Aziraphale in the right direction. If nothing else, She'd really just like Crowley to stop using Her prayer inbox for endless soliloquies about Aziraphale.
Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm (rating T)
As soon as Aubrey Thyme, psychotherapist, had opened her office door and seen her new client, Anthony J. Crowley, sitting in her waiting area, she was observing and assessing him. At first glance, she paid attention to the following: --His clothing was expensive and stylish; --He wore very strange but noticeable cologne; --His relationship to the seat he occupied could only, very loosely, be described as “sitting;” --He looked angry; --He was wearing sunglasses. Aziraphale saw him sometimes in all-staff meetings, sitting toward the front but off to the side, lounging against a wall. Even then, he’d had style—wings tipped in gold and face painted with gold flakes in the pattern of the first constellation he designed. He was amazing, and eye-catching, and it was no exaggeration to say that he did not know Aziraphale even existed.

“Uh, yeah, sure! Thanks,” They replied and walked away, not sure why this specific book was so important to the angry man, but they were £50 richer, so they didn’t really care. He turned to walk away, stopped, groaned, and stalked his way into the bookshop. *** Crowley finds himself at Give Me Coffee Or Give Me Death a month after Aziraphale left to run Heaven, and ends up back at the bookshop, something he never planned to do again.

Muriel has been running Aziraphale’s bookshop ever since his promotion Upward. Mr. Crowley seems intent on sticking around, and Muriel has no idea what to do about that. A little cup with wings! I don’t suppose it can fly like those birds can? I don’t see what a cup needs wings for, really.” “You can’t use that.” “Of course not! These wings are too small for me, and I have my own if I want to get around.” “Wh – okay, first off, you can’t go flying about London. You’ll freak people out, cause a bunch of chaos – actually, you know what, do what you like. Heaven if I care. But don’t touch that mug.” “Is it dangerous?” “…No. But it’s not yours. Everything stays (Twins AU)
Summary: There was a song that only Damian and Danyal know.
Note : This is my first one short write in English. There will be incorrect words.
..................................................................................
Damian is looking for his brother.
It's dark now, which is their bedtime.
After a few minutes of searching, he found his brother sitting and relaxing on the grass under the tree.
He was humming.
Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
“What are you doing?” Damian walked up to him.
"I'm making a song"
“For what?”
“For us”
"I want a song that only we know." Danyal raised an eyebrow at his twin.
“Do you want to listen?”
“tt, don't disappoint me.” He sat down next to Danyal and shut his eyes to listen him humming.
Right there where you left it
lying upside down
“Danyal!!!”
In front of him, Danyal was lying in a pool of his own blood.
The League of Assassins came under attack. While they were fighting, Damian didn't notice that someone came behind him. He was about to be stabbed by the sword, but Danyal used himself as a shield for him. Causing him to be seriously injured.
And he didn't even have time to go check his twin's body. Because his mother took him in order to escape first.
He could only yell his twin's name. As Danyal's body gradually moved away from him.
When you finally find it,
you'll see how it's faded
It has now been two years since he moved in with his father.
He still missed Danyal.
He would softly hum a song from memory when he was alone or drawing.
Damian will sometimes be found humming and looking up at the stars from the rooftop when he patrols with one of the Batfam.
They were very surprised to see Damian doing something like this. But no one questioned him.
And tonight was another night they went on patrol.
According to the report, a meta has appeared in town. So they're going to check.
Damian now saw the figure of a boy who was supposed to be the meta they were looking for.
From behind, he had white hair and was wearing a black helmet suit.
The underside is lighter
when you turn it around
When he turned his head to him, Damian was stunned when he met Lazarus' eyes.
He has the same face as Damian.
It must be Danyal. But why did he become like this? What happened to him?
"Danya--"
Damian was about to call the boy's name, but he ran away before he could finish.
Everything stays
right where you left it
Since that night, he has been looking for him every day.
He was pretty sure that was Danyal. When he called the boy's name, he made a shocked expression when he saw him.
But Damian didn't want to hope. because he doesn't want to be disappointed.
What if that wasn't Danyal? What will he do next?
Track down that boy and bring him here for questioning? Was he a clone of him or not?
No, there is another way to verify.
Everything stays
But it still changes
Tonight is a full moon.
He sneaked out of the manor in his Robin suit.
He kept running through the rooftops. Until he again sees the boy. He hid behind a wall and watched the boy as he sat enjoying the stars.
The boy then opened his mouth and began to sing a song that only he and his twin knew.
It's really Danyal.
He came out of hiding and walked behind the boy.
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
In little ways, when everything stays
The boy stopped singing before standing up. Then turn around and smile softly at him.
"Danyal..."
"Damian"
They stood silent for a while. before Danyal moved closer to him and gave him a light hug.
"I'm back"
He raised his hand and hugged back. He hugged Danyal tightly to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"Welcome back"
He finally got his other half back.

Everything Stays is such a Dalv coded song to me.
I mean, beside both characters being vampires, it just seems like something would Dalv hum to himself in the Ruins.
Not to mention parts of the lyrics are fitting with his situation before Clover came to the Dark Ruins. Isolation in the dark, and yet the underside of Snowdin is lighter as it always was even after he comes back.
"Let's go in the garden,
You'll find something waiting,
Right there where you left it lying upside down.
When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded...
The underside is lighter when you turn it around.
Everything stays, right where you left it,
Everything stays,
But it still changes...
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
In little ways, when everything stays..."

I’ll admit elriel is more of a background here, since this is part of my Her Ladyship's Garden collection, where I tell little stories about Elain. Set post ACOSF. Word count: 2016
For Elriel Month 2023. Prompt 3: Happy Solstice @elriel-month
Tumblr media
The High Lord confident steps halted as he passed by them, a frown marring his face.
“You are here.”
Elain lifted her eyes from the tome she was reading, dark circles in her pale face, her freckles less prominent now that she spent less time under the sun.
“Am I not aloud anymore?”
“Don’t be silly,” he recovered quickly, “I’m surprised to see you home, that’s all.” Too late. The oddness of his initial tone sent her alert.
Elain watched Rhysand like a hawk. She could now interpret all the subtle changes in his posture, the quirk in his lips when he came across information he found relevant, the twitch in his left ear when his attention was actually settle in a different conversation than the one he was having, the slight grind of his molars when the information was not to his liking, the unguarded rub off his chin when he found something amusing. Amren was right. Translation was a game of patient, its own brand of art. Observe a language for long enough, and you'll find the patterns. Observe a male for long enough, and you'll find his weaknesses.
“Early day?”
“Late night.” Amren corrected.
The night began in the opulent dinner table, where they had more space to work. As the hours went by and their eyes grow tired, they moved to the sofa, seeking a bit of comfort, later sitting on the rug, cushion spread all over the place. Now the sun was high in the sky.
Amren slouched back on her hand, sipping wine from her enchanted gold goblet that never emptied. Her latest gift from Varian. “Sunshine here, is surprisingly good with languages. I’m thinking of keeping her.”
Cunning violet eyes scanned the mess spread on the center table, crinkling the smallest bit at the corner while he exchanged a silent conversation with Amren. Elain pretend not go notice the use of his daemanti powers.
“Is that so. Had I known that earlier I’d not have let you move out. It's good to have reliable people close by." He grinned at her, joking. Elain had no doubt he was trying to mask the truth with pleasantry.
Rhysand was not happy with her decision to leave. Not when he and Feyre went above and beyond to build her a room that could rival a small house. It was certainly bigger than the cabin they lived in. A cage was still a cage, no matter how big the antechamber was. She smiled at him.
“A lady never tells.”
“Is that another of your human costumes?”
“No. A feminine one.” She could not help but notice how his smile did not reach his eyes.
“Well, best of luck, ladies. Don’t let Amren drink on an empty stomach. She gets cranky.” He waved them goodbye.
Amren squinted at Elain, as if daring her to take her goblet. Elain only rolled her eyes. The people in this household had a level of love and tolerance for alcohol that she could not understand. More than once she witnessed Cassian downing entire barrels, by himself, and still remember vivid details of the night. It was mesmerizing and worrisome.
Their books were staked in high piles in a vain attempt to gain space. It was no use. The surface was covered with a variety of tomes written in a dead tongue, accompanied by dictionaries and encyclopedias. Although her fingers were cramping from the long hours spend writing, Elain used the piles to her advantage, the books creating a makeshift hideout. With the help of her acute fae-sight, Elain caught a view to Rhysand's map room, Cassian and Azriel already inside, their back to her, waiting on their High Lord.
Azriel.
Her heart ache at the sight of him. Sleep hardly came by these days, her mind too busy in replaying the moment he rejected her. Elain did not even had the luxury of remaining his friend, for Azriel made his presence scarce, shutting her down completely. No more walks along the Sidra, no more sitting by the garden, no more exquisite seeds left in the shed, no more tiny trinkets from his trips, no more shopping at Rainbow, no more breakfasts at the breaking of the day, no more sage carefully applied to the cuts in her hands. Azriel was gone.
Yet, he had come to see her father.
Every month Elain visited her father’s grave. Taking her time to tend to his tombstone, pluck the weed that insisted in climbing the stone, replacing his flowers with fresh one, gently polishing the jaded letters forming his name while murmuring new memories made by her and her sisters. Sometimes they went with her – Feyre more than Nesta – whether they choose to go or not, there was someone who never failed to accompany her, standing with his hands clasped behind his back, wings tucked tight, keeping a respectful distance at the foot of the hill. The first time she voiced her wish to visit her father, back when her family was still careful of her mood swings, Feyre volunteered to take her. To their surprise, Azriel was waiting for them outside, implying his High Lady flying skills were not good enough to carry others. Feyre gasped at the audacity, threatening to punish him with frontier duty, and Elain thought it was endearing how he hide his smile behind her tresses.
When the following month came, Elain descended the stairs to find him waiting in the foyer, a placid smile in place. They exchanged no words as he took her basket, safekeeping it in a pocket of shadows, and off they went. Another ritual was born of silent agreement, as all the ones created before it, because that’s how they worked, inexplicably attuned to each other.
Or so she thought.
The solstice mistake haunted her all day long, Elain returning to her sleepless nights, mind running a thousand miles, recreating every interaction she ever shared with Azriel, cataloging all the touches and glances and suggestions of something else. Something more. No matter how hard she thought, the conclusion was the same: Azriel felt for her as she did for him. Then why, why, reject her? Elain rubbed a hand under her breast, caressing her ribs, disappointment settling over her very bones. It saddened her that she was used to people validating her bond more than her, but to have Azriel doing the same was like having her heart ripped out of her chest. Again. She tossed and turned in her bed. Maybe it was for the best. If she was just another woman, they would have freedom to explore their relationship, but she wasn't, and things were complicated. Elain was tired of complications. Perhaps she could use this event to distance herself as well, easier to bury her feeling. As Nesta's romance books said; out of sight, out of mind.
The problem was Azriel didn't get the memo, reappearing when she finally settled her mind in forgetting him, therefore ruining her plan.
To see Azriel standing outside the River House, waiting for her, after the solstice fiasco, was a bucket of cold water putting out the fire of her resolution. Damn him. No, she would not go with him. He had been avoiding her like the plague, forgone their friendship as if she was nothing, disappeared from her life without giving her a proper reason, a goodbye. Elain had more self-respect than giving him a free pass after all he had done. She’d rather walk all the way to the mountain than submitting herself to be in the company of a man who called her a mistake.
That's what she told herself as she looped her arms around his neck, Azriel taking up to the sky seconds later. Elain was a fool for love. Elain was a fool for Azriel. She could barely focus on cleaning the grave, apologizing to her father and promising to come another day to talk properly. Contrary to her other visits, the was no placid smile waiting for her downhill. His silence was different now, tense, guarded, as if he was stopping himself from spilling words. It made her jittery. When he brought her home, Elain could swear he tightened his hold on her, burring his nose in her hair before settling her back on her feet. Her heart thundered the entire time.
Her stare meet the one of her brothers-in-law, Rhysand noticing her watching. He winked at her, the door closing with a hit of night-kissed power.
A powerful, heavy, slap hit the back of her head, jerking her body forward, her breast hitting the corner of the center table.
“Focus.” Elain straighten herself, rubbing her aching tits. Her eyes remained fixed at the door. The scent of jasmine thickened, burning the oxygen in the air.
“Amren.”
“No talking.”
"Listen,"
“Girl, I do not care for how cauldron-blessed you are, if you do not concentrate, I'll smack you with that book.”
The threat did not detained Elain. She had long learned to identify the humors of the small female sitting beside her. Despite her words, Amren was calm and relaxed, carefully translating the parchment in front of her with her dubious calligraphy. Elain’s expression was a block of stone, showing nothing of the havoc in her mind, a swirling of thoughts she had avoided for a long time taking a hold of her tongue, obliging her to ask a question she had never dared to voice out loud.
“What if his mate comes?” The scribbling stopped, the metal tip of Amren’s feather pen piercing the pager.
Goddamn tears rimmed her eyes again, and Elain couldn’t know if they were from anger or frustration. Or sadness. Elain was so tired of crying. She rubbed them off.
“What if she comes for him. For Varian.”
The pen broke under the strength of her hold, dark blue ink smearing the translation. The hairs in Elain's arm stood up, her senses getting alert to the scent of danger spreading in the air. Then it was gone, masked with perfection. Amren scrunched the paper carelessly, throwing it over her shoulder.
“It won’t happen.” she said with conviction.
“It can happen.”
“It won’t.”
Elain shook her head, placing her book down. She knew denial when she saw it; had learned to identify it in the mirror.
“You don’t know that. She can be out there, and at some point, they might meet,”
The slam of a fist cut her words, shaking the table, splintered wood forming veins in the dark wood. Grey eyes smoldered, a snarl escaping the ferocious female. Amren snapped her head towards Elain, her grin savage, her words hushed and deadly.
“Then be my guest and try me.” Another fae would have flinched, instinct urging then to cower in front of the great predator snarling at their face. Elain did not balk, did not blink, she faced the other female head on, cunning brown eyes tracking the passionate possessivity hiding behind the maddening outburst. “Do I look like I give a fuck about some fae-made mystical rope of destiny? I’m not from this world, girl. Where I come from, you want something, you take it. I wanted this world, I wanted this body, and I want that male. Varian is mine, and mine alone. Mine. If someone, anyone, thinks they can steal him from me, they are welcome to try.”
She slammed the book into Elain’s chest.
“Stop spouting nonsense and finish this shit.”
In her heart of heart, Elain had always thought that being made gave them a sort of comradery, but seeing the ferocity in Amren’s eyes today proved they shared more similarities than the middle Archeron imagined. She took a deep breath, purging all the other scents lingering in the house to focus in one and one alone, when she found it, Elain breathed it in, holding it down in her lungs the longest she could, exhaling it slowly.
You want something, you take it.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Elain returned to her book. Amren’s words ringing in her ears. Maybe the former angel of death was put in the seer’s way to teach her more than dead languages.

To my SU and AT enjoyers: So, do ya'll remember when "Everything Stays" came out in Adventure Time (and it was a amazing ofc) and a few years later, Spinel's storyline can TOTALLY be linked to the same song?
("Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting, right there where you left it lying upside down")
And Rebecca Sugar was a mad lad for putting some of her story years before it actually happened AND in a different show?
I mention this cause when I was watching Fionna and Cake "Part of the Madness", while of course the song is about Simon's experiences, but I can also see a lot of Steven's character in some of lines of the song
"Aren't I so much better now, that I'm just a normal guy? Now that I'm not part of the madness"
Since in the finale, we do see Steven going off to live a normal life. If we were to ever get more SU content, I could imagine Steven having some issues adjusting to the normal life he chose for himself, after years of being a crystal gem and the pain he injured in that time.
This is all just my wild cartoon conspiracies ofc

Still Changes
Originally, this was going to be derived from Prompt #5. But then I read @jokingmaiden's post about Dr Harrow as a factive, and my mind added him to the whole scenario. And from there, the story mixed with the help of some of Rebecca Sugar's music, and evolved into something sweeter, I think.
Enjoy and be gentle ---
Dr Harrow sat with his back to the door and thought.
"I do not understand," he said aloud, "so much really. There is a world outside of this one. I've never seen it, but I know it. And in this world, is another. With my face and voice, and part of my name. I did not exist before him. Not until he-" A shaking breath briefly detrailed his monologue: "I have a duty of care, to Marc, to Steven, and to Jake. I know that they don't see what I do as caring. I-I made some missteps during our initial sessions, and..."
He sighed. "I bare the face of their killer, of the only person who tormented them as much as She did." Reaching down from where he sat on his desk, Dr Harrow removed one of his shoes. "The man knew he had grievous sins, knew enough to try to punish himself for them," he noted, staring into the pool of blood and glass, "And yet, he never gave a name to them. Never thought of why the sins were there in the first place."
"But now I have to wonder," he set the bloody shoe on the deck, "What's the difference between me and him?" A mirror sat in a drawer and was removed: "I can't be him, as I live in here, and for a moment we lived at the same time. But we both could see the problems, couldn't we? The unspoken, throbbing pain that breathes and bleeds in the same action. They all hate to think about it, and we both force them to. I am not him, but what right do I have to call myself different?"
And, in that moment, Dr Harrow felt tired. He felt every inch the age his form reflected. The sound of shuffling reached him, but he had no desire to do a session. He closed his eyes. Until his other shoe was removed. "I think you have every right," Marc said firmly, eyes on Dr Harrow's feet as he opened a first aid box, "I won't deny the...similarities, but he only claimed to want to help. To want something good for everyone else."
Marc's hand gripped Dr Harrow's ankle. It felt like a restraint, strapped in to avoid drifting away to somehwere unknown. "But you," he continued, "You've been actually trying to help us." Each word sounded astonished, said inbetween shards of glass being freed from Dr Harrow's flesh: "Because, to you, we can get better. And you believe that we should."
Silence filled the room once his feet were clean of glass and blood. Bandages slowly wrapped around his feet with caring hands. "So, Doc, can I help you for once?" he looked up. "There is something," Dr Harrow stated after a moment, "It's been bothering me since I arrived. I've not been able to do anything about it, but maybe you can."
Marc followed his gaze to a record player sitting on a table on the back wall. It definetly was not there before. A record sat ready to play. When the needle was set, a soft yet unfamilar piano came through and a door appeared right next to it. Marc stepped through right as the lyrics kicked in.
"Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting. Right there where you left it, lying upside down."
A garden was on the otherside. Thin white trunked trees stretched as far as he could see. Orange leaves blanketed the floor and acted as the sky. Marc walked forward.
"When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded. The underside is lighter when you turn it around."
A clearing suddenly appeared. One tree had a thicker trunk than the others, and among the strong lower branches, was a treehouse.
"Everything stays, right where you left it. Everything stays, but it still changes. Ever so slightly, daily and nightly. In little ways, when everything stays."
The action of climbing that rope ladder felt so familar to Marc, yet he could not place it. Even more familar was the inside. A simple box, but coated in memories. Walls covered in children's drawings, the only thing other then the occupied sleeping bag in the treehouse. Jake stirred and blinked at him. "Hah. Didn't think I'd see you here again." "Again?"
Jake sighed wearily, but sat up as Marc pulled himself inside. "When the body was younger, I found you and Steven. Quite easily in fact," Jake laughed with no joy, "But, no matter the hints I gave, you both never found me. So, one day, I took the initiative. "The body was close to sleep, and I managed to get you both here. And introduced myself. We came up here and spent the night together, drawing and hanging out. I'd never been so happy."
"When I next woke up, it was like it never happened," Jake's eyes glistened with tears, "I made a replica of one of my drawings, one you saw me make. You just turned it over and ignored it. And I knew, that you weren't suppose to know me. No one was."
Jake lost his fight with his tears. And Marc's heart bled.
He crawled inside, right up to Jake's shaking frame, and tucked him into a encompassing hug. Marc's collar was almost immediately wet, but he didn't care one bit. Just held him tight.
When Jake's sobs slowed into shuddering breaths, Marc slowly guided them down to the floor. "Why don't you get some sleep?" Marc rubbed the back of Jake's head. "No," Jake shook his head, even as it was still buried in Marc's neck, "You'll forget me again." "No I won't," Marc placed a kiss on Jake's temple, "If Steven can now know about me and everything else, then I can remember you."
As Jake's breathing evened, music faintly could be heard. No lyrics could be heard, not until the end: " Today, right here, right now, I already feel found..."
