AU where Mr. D claiming to be Percy’s dad accidentally counts as Claiming according to Greek god law or whatever and now all the other gods legitimacy believe Percy is his son, but if Mr. D corrects it, he has to explain to Zeus why he pretended he was Percy’s dad so now he’s like “YEP ol’ Perry Johansson is MY child wowie just look at the little fry, you have your mother’s eyes. Please stop standing next to water or you will blow my cover”
Meanwhile Poseidon is just standing off to the side like “how on earth did I dodge THAT bullet”

Apollo feels like being smeared in charcoal and paint, taking a deep breath and smelling the oil paint and solvent lingering in the air.
Hestia feels like the end of a college party, when everyone is lying together, slowly sobering up and talking about their hometowns.
Aphrodite feels like taking off your makeup after a long day and staring in the bathroom mirror, truly seeing yourself for the first time in a while.
Hermes feels like people watching on the bus, overhearing all the stories of people you will never meet.
Eros feels like loving something so fiercely, with so much passion, that you don't think you can live without it.
Hypnos feels like waking up from a dream that changed your view of the world, for the better.
Artemis feels like the girls you meet at parties who make sure you have a safe ride home.
Hephestus feels like spending hours meticulously building, with a clear vision in mind, but no proper measurements.
Hades feels like the hot embers burning bright on a fire that is slowly dwindling.
Dionysus feels like teaching young actors the ritualistic traditions of a theatre.
Ares feels like protesters fighting for change with unwavering strength.
Poseidon feels like learning about challengers deep for the first time and feeling yourself get entranced by the duality of the ocean.

Why Isn’t Thetis Remembered As Medusa Is?
A woman so devoted to her god/goddess (Zeus and Athena respectively) that they’ve given selflessly and wholly to them, only to be repaid in rape and despair. Both pursued by Poseidon. Both intimately involved in the stories of two of the most prominent and powerful heroes in all Greek mythology (Achilles and Perseus respectively), both ultimately coming to an unhappy ending because of said heroes (Achilles’ death and Medusa’s death at the hands of Perseus). Both seem to exist peacefully and with devoted reverence to the gods only to be persecuted by the very gods who they’d demonstrated their allegiance to.
It just fills me with a pang of deep sorrow that Thetis is remembered simply as “Achilles’ mother,” and not for the many incredible myths she’s had a hand in.

Long story short I dislike most modern retellings because they seem to be focused on "fixing" the ancient stories and breaking them to fit into their own moral box which is insanely self centered to me and hardly ever actually engages with the stories as they are

I enjoy Greek pottery, especially the pottery that is made to represent the deities.
It's a hobby to collect them for me when I'm able to and I love the feeling of dopamine I get from it when I add a new piece to the shelves that house every collectable thing that I've been able to snatch up (/lighthearted). The collection shelf itself isn't Greek pottery-exclusive and has some Egyptian and Asian style pottery, things, and statues as well that I enjoyed.
However the shelf is used as an altar of sorts for Lord Apollon and Lady Athena simultaneously, which for me makes it special when I add to it. A few of my personal fave pieces of it are specifically the statues of Lord Apollon and Lady Athena I think my mum was able to find me at some point.
I have a murray of different pottery for multiple Greek deities as well. It's not even limited to the deities I specifically and actively work with such as lord Dionysus, I have a few painted plates detailing him and I was at some point trying to give him his own shelf since my collection shelf doesn't have much space on it anymore. (Albeit I failed solely due to how easily the plates were at risk of falling and breaking from their shelf when I was rearranging my room and then forgot to put them back on it lmao.)
It's basically one of my own ways to appreciate the deities; to keep up with the shelf and collect.

Dionysus of white wine is far more dangerous than Dionysus of blood-red wine. It is so easy to get drunk on champagne. I've seen people become completely different after drinking a 14-17% white wine saying they'll be fine because they can handle a red. be wary of the fruity drink it fuck you up

Introduction
I decided to make an introduction cuz why not!
Hello, my name is Stormie and I am a 16 year old eclectic witch! I've been researching my craft for around 2 years so I wouldn't technically consider myself a baby witch but I haven't done any spell yet.
I currently work with 6 deities, Aphrodite, who is my Matron, Apollo, Athena, Ares, Dionysus, and Loki!
Can't wait to post more on here and make new friends!

“You will wear your independence like a crown”-From the Pinnacle to the Pit, Ghost
On the last day of Lenaia, I’d like to thank Lord Dionysus for all they’ve done for me. The blessings of theatrical talent and compassion I have are all from them. The experiences of gender euphoria, queer pride, friendship, ecstasy, and devotion I’ve experienced are things I wouldn’t trade for the world. To Lady Dionysus and their lovely Maenads, I sing your praises day and night. Khaîre, Dionysus Lenaios, khaîre!

"You called me stupid," Cam remembers. "You just met me and you called me stupid!" "You were hitchhiking in the rain on a whim when you had money for the train," Umar reminds him. "You were stupid." Cam scoffs but then says, "Yeah," the same way he had back then. "Did you fall for me right then?" Cam asks, grinning. "My good looks and stupidity win you over?" "Something like that,"
Not Happily Anything by @lady-of-the-spirit
Lady-of-the-Spirit gives a bit more than slice of life, it is just an everyday conversation for Umar and Cameron. Cameron with his obsessive personality and Umar with his loving chill. But there is an upcoming anniversary...
These two are apparently a rarepair... I guess that might partially be because Umar/ Dionysus is canon ace.

this outta my own simply curiosity! since i see you devoted to some deities and well
what's your day to day life is like? like with it also consisting of devoting some of your time to Lord Apollon
what's it like? again these are all out of curiosity-! i don't mean my curiosity to be interpreted otherwise but i do wanna know how it is for you and how you feel about your devotions to these gods. hope I'm wording it right 😭
Hello. This is fine.
My main daily worship is a minute of pray/silence for Lord Apollon at the solar noon for my area. It doesn’t matter what I am doing, I never forgot.
(Okay; sometimes I do, but it sometimes occurs in the middle of a lecture or important event where I am speaking, therefore it is rather hard to say “sorry I need to worship a god who many think is a myth and not seen as relevant anymore”)
Other then that, I have the usual candles and alter.
For Lord Dionysus, I will sometimes light wine or other alcoholic beverages on fire. As well as a small alter for him.
I do not do much for Lord Hermes but I do things in his name every now and again.
If I am awake I will do the same for Lady Artemis as I do for Lord Apollon, a minute of silence/prayer at the lunar midnight.
I pray the the muses and light candles individually in their names.
All this along with digital offerings, of course.

in this house we love greek gods that preside over one specific thing and have fuckall to do for the rest of eternity <3
#sriracha.txt#creating some fuckt up little lady who presides Specifically over like. the point in which old crop is used to fertilize the new#thus playing into the whole cycle of life idea + giving her some foot to stand on as the kid of persephone and hades specifically#wrt the way old life supports the new? is this stepping on the toes of demeter and dionysus... yes...#but we pretend we do not see it.. i am overworked + low on spoons as it is and this is like.. niche lore for a character i am not paid to#play. i cannot dedicate much more effort to her. at least not right now#lament aside i think i will name her Rhoeas or something of that nature.. from what i can tell ῥόα is the word for pomegranates#which becomes ῥοιᾰ́ς for corn poppies..#now sit with me boy 🕴 we lose the plot here a little bit + also extrapolate from wikipedia alone for this BUT. in many cultures poppies are#heavily associated with death and love alike. and ofc they grow in disturbed soil.#SO... if you look at the original myth with a modern + loose lens. i think you could justify some kind of poppy child being like#a bridge between demeter and hades.. she comes from the literal disturbed soil that came when hades abducted persephone#+ has ties with death and love + love that can endure death which can be a fun allusion to the way that demeter's love for persephone#persists even through persephone's stay in hades which houses the dead... do you feel me comrades#i think you could even apply it to persephone and hades themselves - a love that endures death? but naur offense hades is NOT the focus her#</3 🤪 coming back to this theme of like. love persisting through death and being sewn in the wake of death/disrupted soil. we come back to#the anchor point of her character which is the old dead crops being used to fertilize the new growth. it's the love the dead has for the#living right!! to help it grow in a new and difficult world! i think that itself ties back into the central theme w the poppies#and also demeter has ties to poppies so i don't think it would be crazy for some grandchild of hers to have ties to poppies :-] i think thi#all somewhat feasible if you reaaaalllly squint. anyhow i'm too tired to go any further with it rn#corylana
