qocc oc challenge [day one: brand new plot bunny]
Zak Malcolm has hated Hardin Scott since their freshman year when they shared an English class and he tried to mansplain the ending of The Awakening. He thinks he's insufferable, and arrogant, and - unfortunately - he is incredibly attracted to him. He's more than content to take those feelings to his grave, especially when Hardin is known as something of a womanizer. No sense in barking up a tree he can't climb.
At least that's what he thinks until Tessa Young, a total sweetheart and probably the most naive girl on the planet, starts going to their school, and Zak makes it his mission to keep Hardin away from her.
Only, the plan backfires. Suddenly, Hardin is seemingly infatuated with him, and he has no clue what to do with his intense (and annoying) attention.

Happy birthday to Admiral Margaret Parangosky!
Today is her -437th birthday!
Tumblr media
Brilliant, cunning, and ruthless, Parangosky was equal parts feared and respected. She joined the UNSC Navy when she was twenty-three and quickly rose through the ranks, taking assignments no one wanted and utilizing spies to keep eyes and ears everywhere. By 2511, she was ONI's Commander-in-Chief, a position she remained in throughout the Insurrection and Human-Covenant war before her retirement.
Ever the pragmatist, Parangosky was comfortable sacrificing lives for victory. She was aware of the SPARTAN-II project, and although she would later deride her rival and nemesis Catherine Halsey for the kidnapping of the SPARTAN-IIs, it was Parangosky who green-lit the project. She also approved the SPARTAN-III project, and kept the project away from Halsey, despite the knowledge that SPARTAN-IIIs were intended to face extreme causalities by design.
During the end of the Human-Covenant war, Parangosky disagreed with the prevailing decision to attempt peace with the Sangheili, as she believed humanity was only safe if the Sangheili were crippled. As a result, she initiated several covert operations intended to disrupt Sangheili society and turn their focus away from the UNSC. These missions were in direct conflict with the Treaty of 2552, and Parangosky retired shortly thereafter, replaced by her protégé, Serin Osman.
In canon (~2560), she is turning 99!
