I also really like that the ultimate reward on the reward track is often some kind of hard to get or limited time or old VIP-exclusive item. Limited time access items are one of the biggest banes of online gaming in my opinion. This is a good way to keep these items accessible while also preventing them from feeling cheap.

lowkey it kinda bothers me a little bit that we've literally never seen the inside of a Dunlanding house. The only interiors we got in Dunland were craft areas and meeting-halls, never seen inside of one home. I mean presumably it looks similar to the interiors we've already seen (round, built a little ways into the ground, probably has a firepit in the center, furnished with a lot of fur rugs, most likely a bit smaller), but like, what do their beds look like? do they have bedframes or are they just on the ground? what does the rest of their furniture look like? are there windows or all they all as dark as the other buildings we've seen in Dunland? is it sectioned off into rooms or is it one large circular chamber? what different kinds of decorations would be in there??? I need to know these things!

@kckramer said: This will sound awful, but I have yet to figure out the reward tracks 😂
Looool it took me forever too at first, but it's actually pretty simple. Hope you don't mind me pulling your reply to make a quick guide for anyone who needs it!
You access it with shift+i or you can go here on the menu:
Tumblr media
You'll then have a track that looks like this with levels 1-100:
Tumblr media
This is completed but while you're working on it you'll have a bar to show your progress like this, and when the bar is full the "claim" button will be able for you to click. It will be greyed out like above after you claim your reward.
Tumblr media
Unlike SWTOR where you have to do specific tasks/quests/etc. you can do anything in LotRO as long as it offers Legendary Item Experience, the stuff that used to level up your Legendary Weapon in the old system. Quests that offer it will have this in the rewards section:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You do have to complete the Moria intro to gain access to the Legendary Items Reward track, but afterward just about every quest will count since almost all offer Legendary Item Experience.
I don't usually finish the track as a casual solo player + being grown-up with a full time job (who is also often trying to do SWTOR's seasons too) but I imagine if you play regularly it shouldn't be too hard.

Bofur 10,16,24 (art is not necessary, just text is also fine - up to you)
Interesting choice for questions! Thanks for choosing Bofur, and I'd like to make more art with members of Thorin's company, so here it is.
10. Describe the character in one sentence.
Class clown of Middle Earth.
Tumblr media
16. A childhood headcanon.
I like the idea of him getting his hat from his dad (my lotro character also got a hat from their father; I just came up with this recently, ok xD).
Tumblr media
24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?
Oh woah. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I've seen somewhere that in a draft script he was supposed to confront dragonsick Thorin (instead of Dwalin (?), but I like the final version more because it is more difficult for Dwalin to do this). We still can play around this scenario and maybe create some backstory?
Maybe back in Ered Luin when he was a young miner he found some rare relics. And the other miner who worked with him (and maybe was in some illegal band with Nori too) offered to keep it hidden from a supervisor and sell it to Men for extra cash.
Bofur doubted, he knew well that these relics are important to dwarves. He kept treasure to himself while thinking on the offer from another miner. At the time he and his younger brother were under supervision of Bifur (parents are already gone due to tragic circumstances). And both Bifur and Bombur were very sick and Bofur had to work alone and also to take care after them.
So there is a dilemma in front of him: to help his family or to betray his people's values which I believe also is a big crime. And he chose family, which saved them. But he never told of this deed, he was both glad and ashamed. And yet, he would do this again, choosing saving people dear to him over items.

B2MEM 2023 might be over, but the Spring into Arda team is not quite done yet!
We're introducing F3, an event to celebrate the friendships and families of the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings and the Second Age!
This includes all the movies (yes, all of them), the Rings of Power, LOTRO and other Video games, Board/Card/Tabletop and Book Games and so on and so forth.
Your creations must be set in the Second or Third Age and they must be rated for General Audiences.
I will explain the main phases of the event below, but this link contains the detailed version.
Follow this link for the creator sign-ups (ending May 4)!
How will F3 work?
There are three phases to this event!
First phase starting immediately is prompt creation!
If you know this mod team, you know we like putting a bit of a twist on things, so all prompts must come in form of friendship chains or bracelets, instructions for which are provided in the detailed F3 documentation linked above!
Each chain/bracelet must contain at least 4 and at most 12 prompts.
Prompts are limited to one, two, or three words, and can include characters, scenarios, random words and places, but no relationship prompts.
Keep in mind that creations are limited to G ratings, and your prompts should reflect that.
Each prompter is allowed to submit two prompt clusters.
A photo of your finished chain/bracelet plus a list of your prompts should be emailed to [email protected] by April 29 at the latest.
Phase 2: New Creations (May 6 - June 15, 2023)
If you have signed up as a creator you are now allowed to claim a prompt chain!
Multiple people are permitted to claim the same chain in the first round, and if not all chains get claimed during initial claims, you may also claim more.
You can now use your prompts to create any of the following:
a written work (at least 100 words)
a visual work (art, moodboard, craft)
an audio work (podfic, music, playlist)
You should create a chain of works (that's 3 or more items) based on the prompts you have claimed. These can be of the same type or a combination of two or more categories.
All creations for phase 2 are due by June 15.
And then it's time for Phase 3: Derivations (June 1 - June 30, 2023)!
You are now allowed to offer derivative works for either your own works or other works created for this event!
This can include a podfic of an existing story, a story inspired by a piece of art you created for round 2, or a craft based on a playlist for example.
You can also create additional treats for chain prompts!

for the lotro ask game, what would an intro quest/questline starring Raenor look like? 👀
I saw this pop up and then a lot of stuff went down at work BUT I am answering it now!
An intro quest line with Raenor would first trigger by the ruins of Edhelion when the MC returns there. While wandering around the ruins you can find an old, tattered leather bound notebook protected from the six hundred years of elements by a painted lock box buried beneath the fallen remains of the buildings. Inside the book are time and weather-worn pages filled with poems, sonnets, ballads, and beautiful written words. It will pop up a quest to find the owner of the book and directs the MC to ask around the Refuge of Edhelion where Elladan and Elrohir are for more information on who the owner might be.
The handful of elves there hum and haw at the MC, throwing around how to sonnets sound familiar and how they just can't quite place in their long memories whose book it may be because there have been so many bards throughout the years. Finally, one elf flips through the notebook and lights up, saying they remember the day that one of the poems if referring to. This elf states the notebook is owned by an elf named Raenor and if he is in Ered Luin at all, it would be worth checking in Celondim for him. This elf suggests following the sound of a lute and a voice that sounds like summer rain.
When the MC travels to Celondim they can find Raenor in one of the gazebos around the settlement, near the outskirts closest to the farming fields and wildflowers. The MC will hear him humming as they approach and he will be idly picking at lute strings, tuning it as he goes.
The MC introduces themselves and Raenor is friendly, if reserved, until you attempt to hand him the notebook. At that, his face fills with pain, and he pushes it away saying he wants no part of the memories that book holds. That if you really want something to do with it, throw it into the gorge and be done with it. The MC can ask if that's what he really wants done with it, and that will earn a smile.
If the MC interacts with him again, Raenor will say that if you really wish to know his story, that he will tell you, but on the condition that you actually do toss the the notebook into the River Lune and if you collect five specific herbs and flowers so that he may repaint his lute, decorated with a gorgeous scene that he explains is Rivendell and the Misty Mountains beyond.
Collecting the herbs/flowers and tossing the notebook will bring you back to Raenor, where he will tell you of what happened to him at Edhelion and his journey back to Rivendell after. Mechanics wise, it would probably trigger an instance where you go through the day and the journey with him. The quest rewards you a pocket item that is a small notebook filled with half written songs and poems with a boost for Fate and Will.
Later on, when the MC reaches Rivendell, you can find Raenor in one of the gazebos by the gorge, strumming on his lute. If you speak with him, his dialogue will show that he is singing a longing song for a forlorn woman, but no further quest line triggers.
Even further up the line when the MC reaches Gondor, you can find Raenor again in Minas Tirith. Post War of the Ring he has an optional quest to help find Faewryn, his wayward daughter, who is playing hide-and-seek around the area. The MC can help find her, and she will run from hiding spot to hiding spot. If you find all of Faewryn's hiding spots within the time limit, Raenor will thank you and wish you well and congratulates you on long journey well completed. He promises to spin songs and tales of your heroics, and completion of the quest will grant you a title of 'Song Spinner' which describes you as a inspiration for songs all across Middle Earth, as well as a housing decoration musical instrument of choice, hand painted with the view from Minas Tirith.

any character + outlandish quest reward(s)?
"I don't want this," you say flatly.
Eywind pauses in his merriment to give you a quizzical look. "What's wrong with it?" he asks. "It's nice enough. Good resale value, if you don't want it. But I thought you would. It's old, and you seem the type to like that kind of thing."
"It says 'Túrin' on it," you point out.
"Yes, well," he says. "Isn't that just its name? What does it mean, anyway?"
You take a deep breath and pinch your nose, closing your fist over the ring in your hand. "It's an engarn," you say. "An owner's inscription. Túrin is, or was, the name of its owner. And yes, it is very old. How it came here I know not, but I want nothing to do with it."
Eywind blinks, no understanding on his face, and you take a deep breath. Dwarves are long-lived, by the reckoning of mortals, but not so long-lived that they recall the Elder Days with any sort of clarity. It's not polite to speak of such things directly, not in casual conversation, but the Dwarf ought to have some explanation -- if for no other reason than to warn him off picking up old strange rings. You wonder where he got it.
"A great deal of malice was bent on the owner of this ring on a time," you say. "I cannot say whether any of it has clung to the ring, but it's not a risk I wish to take."
Eywind still looks confused. You lean on your staff, pulling your cloak tighter around you against the cold of the Misty Mountains in October, and honestly try very hard not to heave a sigh, to limited success. "It's cursed," you say. It's not, or rather, you don't know whether or not it is, but perhaps saying it bluntly will drive the idea into his skull.
"Oh!" he says. "Well, if you don't want it, then I'll take it back."
"Excuse me?" you say.
"The goblin I took it off of walked straight off the edge of the cliff back there," Eywind says. "I thought it must have had a sight too much to drink, but perhaps --"
"No, it's of scholarly interest to some," you say, and you quickly pocket the ring and walk away, without looking back.
~*~*~*~
Túrin is such a completely bizarre and out of nowhere quest reward, attached to a totally random sidequest that seems to have nothing to do with the events the item evokes -- except that I think Eywind just might be the sort of crazy who would witness Túrin's decision-making process and wonder if he could weaponize it.
At first I thought it was unlikely the ring was directly connected with The Túrin, and then I remembered that this game is always trying to pawn Barahir's underwear or whatever off on its players, so no, I think it's pretty plausible, actually, that this is an actual item he may have owned. As to whether or not it's cursed... well has anyone actually kept it long enough to find out?
The POV character for this is my helf LM Pegweneth, who is honestly a bit of an ass when it comes to what she expects other people to know about, at least at this point in her story. Maybe I'll have her keep the ring. Might be something there.

For the first time I finished the entire LotRO reward track and got the final item.
I thought he needed an appropriate name.
