Headcanon for crossover: Arish is twitchy, like all the time. When he sleeps his entire body does a big twitch. It doesn’t necessarily annoy anyone, but he always apologizes anyway.

HI OKAY I’m making a new introduction since my other one was kinda outdated.

Anyway hi! My name is Lexi! I’m a 20 year old photographer, writer, and gamer. I love writing fanfiction and my top favorite games are Control, Tomb Raider (Survivor!Timeline), and Life is Strange! I’ve also written quite a few fics for each of those fandoms so if you’re interested click the link below to my Ao3.

I also have a habit of rambling about Control on this blog as well as posting my own screenshots and theories. Luckily the community is phenomenal and I’m so so thankful for y’all!!!

OKAY I CANT RESIST, here’s a snippet from chapter three!! I’m probably super annoying at this point but I’m tagging a few of y’all who’ve shown interest in this hehe @fbcbreakroom @subjectsix @einsesk @ineedmoredragons @oldest-house

Jesse held onto her partner with one arm wrapped around her back, the other arm folded under her own head. Even with how comfortable she was, Jesse was still afraid to sleep. She was no stranger to the nightmares that plagued her mind when she settled down for the night, but unfortunately they only got worse once she found the FBC. Now she was The Director, she had her brother back, she had more to lose if anyone tried to hurt her or her friends. Her life wasn’t just about finding Dylan anymore. It was more than that.

Jesse forced herself to lie still against Emily, being careful not to wake her lover. Emily’s breathing was slow and steady, her face rested in a peaceful look.

I’m not letting her go. Not without a fight.

Although she was hopeful that Maxine and Chloe weren’t dangerous, Jesse knew deep down they couldn’t confirm that it was one hundred percent safe. And if things got dangerous for the group...

“Jesse?” The redhead jolted, glancing down at the woman in her arms. Emily blinked, her eyes bleary and full of sleep. “What’s wrong?”

Jesse sighed, stroking Emily’s hair softly. “Shh, go back to sleep, babe.”

“Mmm-mmm.” Emily shook her head, quietly sitting up. She yawned, rubbing her eyes, before she faced the redhead beside her. Jesse had also sat up, rubbing up and down Emily’s back. “Why aren’t you sleeping?” Jesse glanced away, nervous. The blonde gently placed a hand on Jesse’s cheek, forcing the redhead to look at her “Jesse.”

“Nightmares.” She finally admitted in a tight whisper. “I’ve always had them, but... now they’re... different.” Emily kissed her hard, taking Jesse by surprise. The redhead wrapped her arms around the blonde, holding her as close as possible.

If I don’t let go, she’ll be safe.

Emily broke the kiss, and Jesse huffed at the loss of contact. “It’s okay, Jess. You aren’t alone anymore. I’ll be right here if you need me.” Jesse blinked, kissing Emily once more before carefully laying them both back down on their sides. This time, though, Emily coaxed Jesse down, forcing the redhead to rest against her chest. She vaguely felt Emily’s chin settle on top of her head. “And for fuck’s sake, babe,” Emily chuckled. “Take your ponytail out.” Jesse giggled, removing her hair tie and tossing it on the nightstand beside them.

“I promise I’ll try and sleep for a while.” Jesse smiled against her girlfriend’s collarbone. Emily hummed, wrapping her arms around the redhead, before softly snoring once more. Jesse sighed, letting her limbs go numb before passing out.

Spring has barely made its entrance, and I’m already thinking about flowers.

She’s practically kissing the window. Great, now I’m jealous of the car.

So it occurred to me as I was going through my plans for the crossover that I’m not even close to being halfway done with it yet, which honestly surprised me! I knew from the start this was gonna be a huge project for me (I haven’t written a crossover in YEARS, and I tried before but I have yet to finish it) so I knew I’d be extra careful with writing it. Still im proud of myself for what I’ve got so far! :D

Life is Strange saved my life in a way. It helped me figure out my sexuality and how to be okay with it (the fandom especially). It was the game that made me invested in the gaming community more than ever. It was the game that got me into writing in a more professional manner. And of course, it was a game that helped me through my depression after what I had gone through in 2016. Max and Chloe have been very special to me from the start, and I hope that my story can convey that, even if I haven’t written about them in quite a while.

Control on the other hand, changed my life. I fell in love with the game from the very first line of dialogue. It helped me get invested into writing again, bringing motivation back. The community is so kind and wonderful and sometimes I just think about how amazing y’all are and smile. I’ve been in shitty mindsets here and there since 2016, but I’ve been recovering. Even now I believe I’m mostly okay, but sometimes I do cry over shit. Still, whenever I think about this fandom and the game and its characters I can’t help but get excited about the next fanfic I’m gonna write or read. The next piece of fanart I’ll see on tumblr. It’s just so nice and idk exactly how to convey that properly.

Sorry for the long post guys! I just really needed to get all that out, I think. Anyway, I promise the crossover will continue sometime this month! It’ll be a bigger chapter filled with details and different events from both games. Thank you all for being so kind, and thank you to Square Enix and Remedy for bringing us these phenomenal games.

“Is something wrong?” Emily asked, a concerned expression on her face. Jesse realized she was staring.

Oh, nope! Just really wanna push you against a wall and make out with you right now.

The thought made her blush harder, and she shook her head to fight it off. “I’m okay, just... nervous, I guess.” Emily glanced at her, skeptical, but nodded.

“That’s completely understandable.” She murmured. “This is the your first AWE since Ordinary,” Dylan stiffened, and Jesse took his hand. “And it’s a situation where one could find similarities between the two. I don’t blame either of you for feeling unsettled.”

So in the crossover, Jesse deals with constant nightmares due to her trauma being unresolved. I’m kinda basing them off of my own dreams and nightmares. For me, they can be insanely vivid, making my unconscious brain relive traumatic events, or they could still be vivid but make no sense. I’m kinda incorporating both elements into the dreams??? I’m lowkey proud of how I’m writing them too (it’s definitely a writing style I’m not familiar with) so I hope it’ll be well received!!

Okay I couldn’t just do one sentence akansksnaksbsjsb, so uhhhh here’s a snippet hehe

“This is different.” Jesse commented. The room was relatively small, with one bed in the middle. The bathroom was, luckily, behind a closed door.

“Yeah, well, we aren’t gonna spend eternity here so I figured I could get us a cheaper room this time.” Arish set his bag down at the end of the bed. He grabbed everyone else’s bags and set them down as well.

“So, what now?” Jesse asked. “We know the girls are in Portland, but where exactly?”

“My sources say they don’t actually live here,” Emily smiled. “So maybe they’re staying a hotel like us! Or even a campground.”

A campground, huh? Maybe we should try that first.
