I heard a steam whistle sounding off when the train passed through and had to know what it looked like. And then I searched the internet for screenshots and found this lovely thing:

I've seen that type of locomotive before. So I did a wee bit of digging. Because even though it's missing what I assume (And hope or this is going to be awkward with the size of the locomotive) is the sand dome. Plus the tender and the actual pistons--

BUT THE POINT IS!

The Whyte notation, 4-6-0 (total number of leading wheels, driving wheels, and trailing wheels) is a real class of locomotive. a "T-12" Ten Wheeler class here in the US. Now the odd spacing of the driving wheels is strange yes. But take into account this class, specifically this type of engine was seen on Narrow gauge lines. (Going by Freedom Units 4 feet, 8 inches between the rails is standard gauge, narrow gauge is 3 feet, 6 inches).

The locomotive that first came to mind was the ones used on the Denver and Rio Grande Western, they had a few of these.

See? Same wheel arrangement and even lamp. Hell event he box above the piston is right.

Now as for why the spacing is like that, I scoured a few forums to try and get an answer and I got mixed results. This is the one that had a few ideas. But the bottom line came down to it being narrow gauge and you are dealing with tight curves and steep cliffs. Which means the Stardew Valley Railroad is in fact Narrow Gauge. And since it's in the mountains, it makes sense. After all, that is where Narrow Gauge here in the US was seen the most. Besides the mines of course.

This little not so mystery took me a total of five minutes. Probably helpful I've seen this type of locomotive in person and knew exactly where to start looking. Obviously I have yet to find any confirmation on if this is the locomotive the Stardew Valley one is based on. But I'm fairly certain it is. Also don't know if anyone else figured this out, couldn't find much on that.

I won first place with my Oratory! Wasn't actually expecting that, but I got straight 1's through all my rounds, was very confused at first but hey I slay :D

Last comic bit of Wild winning is basically a recreation of that moment expect there was more exited running and fistbumps as I returned to the audience

Probably never gonna touch this idea again but I find it amusing for now. Maybe one or two bored doodles during rounds.

Very messed up of Curtain to be running a useless school where he taught kids nonsense to use in his secret messages so none of them can actually go to college. I was worried about SQ getting into art college, but knowing Curtain, he probably had his son taught by the world’s finest private tutors. (Which explains why he wasn’t close with anyone- he wasn’t in class with any of the other kids and spends his time completely isolated).

we’re all familiar with how mormonism breeds unrealistic expectations and perfectionism in its members, but what’s most insidious is the idea that "imperfections" are essentially only a stepping stone — a necessary burden to bear as they work toward a flawless eternity.

my brother and i are both ex-mormon, ADHD, mentally ill, and recovering addicts. my dad asked us once whether we’d choose to instantly be rid of our mental illnesses and ADHD entirely if we were somehow given the opportunity, and he was shocked when we both said we wouldn’t. he kept pressing it and giving different hypotheticals, and our answers didn’t change. because while those things come with difficulties and deep pain at times, we’ve also been able to find strengths within them and appreciate the ways they set us apart and force us to grow.

A CALL TO QUEERSTAKE

Hello everyone!

As part of a long-term plan, I am writing a paper for class about the negative effects of the strict Dress and Grooming standards at CES schools.

If you attend or have previously attended a church school and have had a bad experience with the regulations (be that a specific punishment or just a restriction on your preferred presentation), I'd love to hear your story!
