Finished Painting the Kitchen/Dining Area! Went with a yellow (Benjamin Moore Philadelphia Cream- it’s such a nice yellow) as the yellow goes perfect with the honey oak cabinets and the darker grey countertops! So we’re gonna do Blue Accents, so yellow and blue in the Kitchen/Dining Area.

So here’s the finished paint: I’m gonna replace the long Light in the kitchen as it makes the walls washed out and look like a very very light yellow compared to the walls in the dining area (as you can see)

And here’s what I’m gonna do for decor!

So first off, the wall next to the storage room door next to the stairs (so the 4th photo, the last one- that wall there) I’m gonna put a coffee bar like this:

With blue/ yellow accents, and get a shelf for above that the mugs hang off

Then this is kitchen table we bought:

& it’ll go like in the middle of the dining area, so the third photo

& then also in the third photo, the furthest wall at the back- the one right next to the patio doors and fridge, I’m gonna put some sort of sideboard or buffet hutch, like this:

& add some accents like these curtains, over the patio door and some wall art like this:

& then!!! I want to do a backsplash and I can across mosaic backsplashes and omg a blue backsplash with the oak cabinets or a yellow and blue mosaic backsplash would look so good and tie everything together!!! Or maybe perhaps just a normal blue tile backsplash

However, for a large, formal dining room, there may be a requirement for several pieces of furniture lest the area is left looking bare and incomplete. Traditional furniture also gives the aspect of formality to a room so that should be taken into account when you decide what kind of dining room furniture you want to buy and how many pieces of furniture. A formal dining area can also carry off the 8 seater dining table and chair concept; either a square dining table with 2 chairs for each side of the table or a rectangular table with three chairs on either side and two chairs at each end.

For a more informal dining area, say if your kitchen is open plan and blends seamlessly into the dining area, more casual furniture may the appropriate. For the more casual dining area, such as a dinette or similar, you may want to consider a square, four seater table rather than the usual six. Then perhaps the only accompaniment to the dining table and chairs that you need is something like a drinks trolley that is both portable and practical as well as versatile enough to be wheeled from one to another room as per your requirement.

Often used in the dining room to exhibit tableware and cookware, the kitchen to store food and cookware, or the bar area to store wine bottles and bar accessories, a sideboard is a storage cabinet. Instead of a console table, it can also be positioned in the living room or foyer. Although the terms "buffet" and "sideboard" are frequently used interchangeably, a sideboard is different from a buffet and may include a hutch, drawers, cabinets, and cupboards in addition to being used to serve food. The Sideboard and Its Types

It is always put in the dining room, either next to the table or in the kitchen. A buffet can be larger than an oak sideboard and have a height that is convenient for serving on the countertop. For the sole purpose of storing silverware, napkins, and plates, a buffet cabinet is employed. Tea, coffee, and food are offered to customers from a buffet countertop.

A credenza, on the other hand, frequently has low legs or a plinth base and typically features sliding doors. It is shorter and more streamlined, and when stored in the living room, it doubles as a TV stand. It can be used to keep books, files, and documents at the workplace or in the study.

A server cabinet is sized in between a buffet and a sideboard. On taller legs, it may have drawers and an open bottom.

A Very Very Orange Apartment.

Day has arrived. On the horizon, an orange glow. Not the sunrise, no, but something more sinister. Under ripple-chip roof standing on requisite 1982 beige carpet, you look out the gallery windows at the landlord's car, glowing orange from reflected light, instant coffee in one hand, a lamp in the other.Confused in the stop-sign coloured surroundings, you carry a faux-wrought iron target lamp from one end of the main room to the other. There is a sticky note on the ceiling, it's message, perhaps a warning, long gone. You place the lamp on your fireplace which faces the dining area, as fireplaces do, and then fetch your pantry items from your built-in display shelves, carrying your olive oil to the kitchen/tiki bar. Tiny umbrellas litter the unvarnished pine bar counter, evidence of the Sunset Swingers party the night before. Not yours, mind, but you are happy to host for your masters- I mean landords. Distantly, Margarita Ville plays over your suite's in-built speakers, you've lost the remote to turn them off. Pushing scrambled eggs around the pan in one of three, maybe four sections of the kitchen, you contemplate the outlet that lays on the border between the wall and the ceiling, a corrugated tin or plastic. A long grey extension cord runs from the outlet into the livingroom, behind the hutch where you store your styrofoam commemorative Minions© cups, and slithers under the stack of your landlords moving boxes, filled with tempting items, no doubt. Somewhere is a sticky note reading "Do Not Touch-100$ fee", and so the mystery of the boxes' contents remain unknown, because you can't afford it. Sometimes something vibrates within a box, causing a small avalanche, and your phone will Ding! -Venmo money request, 100$.-After breakfast you return to the livingroom, cheered by the dead-flower fall wreath on the wall and sumptuous Art™, and say hello to the person living in your TV stand/bulkhead/boot box. "Morning!""HHHHHHHHHH" it hisses back at you. "I hear ya!" Dazed and hungover, you grab another lamp and then make off to your bedroom, reclining on the always-chilly hand-quilted retro bed cover, you place the crystal lamp on the dresser before laying back on your luxurious throw pillows. You are not allowed to buy more pillows, but after an adjustment period, these ones suffice. You don't relax for long though- The landlords just left on a swingers cruise to Tampa, Florida, and you are contractually obligated to water their plants and perform home maintenance. Wistfully picking up a toolbelt from your actually very cool art-deco revival sideboard, you make your way out, thinking of the day when you, too, will have a loved one to take on a sordid sex cruise. "It will be an extra 500$ a month," your landlord had said at the idea, and so for now, you are alone. Before making your way upstairs to start your chores, you stop by your second bootbox and perfunctory vent. "Have a good day at home, honey!" "HHHHHHHH." "Haha, you too."

Upholstered chairs keep you comfortable during dinner.

Padded seating around a dining table offers comfort to guests, so look to this type of chair when you’re considering an upgrade.

Bly recommends solid colors or neutrals as they’ll blend well with the rest of your room’s palette.

5. Transitional wood chairs

A hatch-back design offers good support during long dinners.

Not every chair has to be a fabric one—and in fact, switching up your seating with both upholstery and wooden seats looks fresher than a matched set of chairs.

Bly suggests transitional chairs, a look that splits the difference between traditional and contemporary designs.

6. Wooden hutch

Multiple drawers and cabinets are a hutch must.

7. Multicolored medallion rug

Anchor your dining room with a classic Persian rug.

“A medallion-style carpet, whether solid or pinpoint multicolored, has lots of longevity in the dining room,” notes Bly.

If you’re a fan of natural neutrals, sea grass is also a classic option. This rug comes in six shades, including gray, orange, light blue, and silver, and five sizes ($113.70, Home Depot).

This timeless look teetered on the edge with some experts, but ultimately most felt painted wall scenes were far from trendy.

9. Art sets

Tell a story with coordinated pieces of art.
