@erisama​ Not gonna lie, I didn’t even remember that artist at first lol.

I like Kippu’s artwork, and like Wada Sachiko, I like the way they draw eyes. Their eyes are so sparkly and cute!

The eyes are very two-toned, like you can see hints of pink in Marcia’s eyes, hints of the palest yellow in Ninian’s eyes, etc. And I mean no disrespect to Yoshiku but I think Kippu draws Peony way cuter with a lot more expression. They draw a LOT of the girls with great expression.

They’re just really great with color palettes in general, too. Elincia’s artwork makes the gold and green blend really well, Linde uses really soft shades of pink and brown... I’d say they’re probably one of the best pastel palette users in the game. They draw such adorable girls. But they can also draw guys too, and while the guys need to stay more in the bishie realm, I still count it as diverse enough.

Now criticism wise, there’s two issues I have with their artwork.

1. They’re not as good at drawing guys as they are at drawing girls. I do think they were a good artist pick for Rhys considering his personality, but his body looks kind of awkward both in pose and anatomy. I know Rhys is slender but his legs just... look like sticks. I don’t know if it’s the pants but they need a little more curve. Nils fares better in anatomy but still has some stiff-ish posing.

2. Kippu’s specialty is in drawing cute girls, so honestly I feel that their artwork for Sonya and Tharja was not their strongest piece. Anatomy, color, expression, and pose-work are on point (save for Tharja hovering weirdly close to Sonya’s tit in the neutral portrait for some reason but that’s just a personal nitpick); but these are mature adult women and it just... doesn’t really come across. Like I know Sonya and Tharja are in their 20′s still, but they don’t really look like adults. I think the issue is the eye style and the lip-definition not being strong enough.

Nonetheless, a very talented and cute artist. 8 to 9/10, and I’d like to see them draw the Kanas sometime.

Really tho, the main reasons I want to learn Japanese are: to be able to read untranslated manga & to maybe play unported jrpgs (if I got my hands onto a Japanese system)

Cultural knowledge is great & all but like. Learning a language is Hard Work. I'm not gonna learn a whole language if I don't have smth in mind to USE it for. & for this? My reasons are . Hobbies

#speculation nation #theres also the maybe eventual goal of visiting japan myself but that would be a far off thing #honestly i love that spanish & japanese r my languages of choice bc they rly do share a lot of the same phonetic sounds #i cant idly ramble to myself in japanese yet like i do in spanish #(thats how i keep even slightly in practice with my spanish. i just ramble to myself) #but ive taken to rambling in spanish but inserting japanese words im learning. Just Cause i guess #& it really doesnt break up the flow! it's pretty fun. #im certain id have an accent for both these languages But it's not as much as it could be #considering i was taught spanish in elementary school. barely remembered any of it. but it had me learning how to make those sounds #since like phonetics r smth you Learn as a kid. & you cant rly learn them when youre older. #you can Replicate them but it's not quite the same. aka why you can have ppl completely fluent in another language #but still have a heavy accent. #my spanish teacher in high school used me as an example to the class for Good Pronunciation. im still kinda proud of that lol #AND since spanish & japanese share a similar set of phonetics. in the way words are spoken. it works out well for me. #not Completely the same. like h being silent in spanish but not in japanese. & j being the h sound in spanish but j in japanese #sounds like tsu and double consonants (like kippu) & stuff like that in japanese #the ü in spanish for things like pingüino. i think i spelled that right #there ARE differences. but the key part being vowels are spoken pretty similarly. #theres no 'a' being bag or ball or bar or and or ANY number of different pronunciations for the same letter #an a is an a in both spanish and japanese and i REALLY appreciate that. pronunciations just make SENSE in these languages #... except for things like 'su' in japanese. like sasuke that 'su' being like a short s. & probs some other exceptions #OK THERE R EXCEPTIONS but overall they r nice to speak ok that's it that's the post goodnight

In honor of the new Sonya alt, which artist drew Sonya the best, since she now has 4 different artists tackling her? Yura (base), PenekoR (Resplendent), Kippu (Harmonic with Tharja) or Suzuki Rika (Rearmed)?

Combining these two because I plum done forgot to answer Anon’s message last night, I was working on my next Project Omega single panel.

Ok so this one is HARD. It really only boils down to PenekoR’s Resplendent Sonya and now Suzuki Rika’s Sonya.

I think the final vote has to go to Suzuki Rika:

The biggest deciding factor was Rika’s crit art for Sonya; it’s so perfectly in-character to have her blowing a kiss when she attacks. And I love how she’s posed being held up by wind magic. The piece gives me big Bayonetta vibes (And I guess with that hair she does look a lot like Jeanne in Bayo 2). This really was a stunning piece and Sonya deserves it.
