The world (ruled by the god of this world, Satan) tries it's best to destroy me. To destroy, to taint, to diminish any part of me which is dedicated to Jesus Christ. The world wants to destroy my reputation in the views of society, but amusingly enough. . . my reputation means nothing anyway if it's not for glorifying Jesus.

The Message of Palm Sunday (John 12:12-16)
Jesus made it evident he was not going to submit to what the crowd wanted. Christ had a different idea about what needed to take place.
Christ enters Jerusalem, by Hanna-Cheriyan Varghese The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord—    the King of Israel!” Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: “Do not be afraid,…

Quote
We often hear the “Savior” characteristics of God stressed – His love, mercy, goodness and so on – but the matter of His lordship is absent. The distortion is particularly clear in evangelism. In modern practice the call to repentance is usually called an “invitation,” which one can obviously accept or refuse. It is offered politely. Seldom do we hear presented God’s sovereign demand to repent or His demand for total submission to the authority of His appointed king, Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 1:3–4
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
Who is this King of Glory... Jesus. He came, He ministered, He arose, He assented, and He is coming again. My King is coming again!

So yesterday, we looked at Matthew 21:4-5 and focused on verse 4, which talked about the prophets phrophcied about Jesus.
Today, we focus on verse 5 and the word humble.
We always talk about how mighty king Jesus is, but hardly do we ever talk about how humble he is.
Yes, we mention it Christmas when we are talking about him humbling himself in the form of a baby, and this is true. But he was and is humble in more than one way. So this Sunday, when we worship and celebrate the triumphal entry our king. Let's remember, our is not like any other King from his mighty yet humble king.
As always, I hope this encourages you, and if anyone has prayer requests, please don't hesitate to leave them in comments.

Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 2:13-23)
The littlest, the lowly, the least, the lost, the lonely, and the last, all matter.
Nazareth Village, Israel When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was…

American Christians, Listen Up
Today, I took a phone call from an African-American Pastor in the Chicago suburbs with grave concerns over the coming election. He had some serious questions. I love him. He is a friend. I have preached a number of times in his church. And we have been friends for almost 35 years. But I don’t share his fears. Why? I assure you, it is not because I don’t think this is a pivotal election, not…

The Surrender (God Is...)
This post originated with a message from Arise Church. In this scene from the show Turn, George Washington accepts the British surrender at the end of the American Revolution. This was the moment that solidified Washington’s status as perhaps the Father of our nation. Everywhere you look, the United States remembers George Washington. He graces the one-dollar bill and the quarter; our capital is…
