Hi hi hi!

I do really like them, but after my most recent TDA read I realized Cristina is one of those 'saint' characters that I can't stand (like Jem and Tessa and Will- the 'ive done shitty things but the narrative paints it out to be a positive thing' type) and also I can't for the life of me ever get over the whole "let's lie to Kieran to get him to testify" thing. If that was handled better I think I would like them a lot more, and if Cristina wasn't again, a character trope I hate. Also the way Cassie describes them is. Bad. ALSO when Mark and Kieran talk to Cristina they use the word 'we' a lot and it feels SO FUCKING WEIRD. NO BC LIKE HAVE YOU EVER READ THOSE SCENES?? THE ONES WHERE MARK AND KIERAN GENUINELY FEEL LIKE CRISTINA'S LIKE- HAREM??? IDK HOW TO DESCRIBE IT OTHER THEN THAT BUT LIKE IN THE TRAINING ROOM THEY WERE DEADASS LIKE TALKING SO FUCKING WEIRD??

Anyway. Um. Overall I like them I think (now I'm not so sure) and they have cute scenes and sometimes they make me v soft sometimes and yeah?

"Who Did This To You?" (Whumptober, Prompt Three)

Cristina Rosales, Mark Blackthorn, Kieran Kingson (Kierarkina)

Cristina finds herself under strain and Kieran and Mark want to help.

Prompt: "Who Did This To You?" / taunts / insults

Most days she could rise above it.

She could ignore the muttered words of ‘Faerie slut’ behind her back in the Institutes she visited by those who disproved. Or greet the sideways glances of others who had heard about her relationship with Mark and had heard rumours about her ties to the new Unseelie King with a gentle smile. Or with the most curious and bold of Shadowhunters- turn the opportunity to gossip about her love life to instead speak about mending ties now that the Cold Peace was ended.

When it came to the rare occasion she visited Kieran- where she was greeted with barbed smiles and subtle, cutting remarks about her lovely, delicate human nature and how unsuited it was for the Unseelie Court- she could remember her studies and the point that was often made about the long length of time it took to change immortals' beliefs and values.

But the thing was- when she had to spend too long in those worlds- where she had to always be on guard and not allowed to just be, it became overwhelming.

And it had been three long months since they had all been together in their cottage.

“Who did this to you, my darling Cristina?” Kieran’s voice was brimming with hints of danger - like calm water with a riptide just below the surface.

She had come into the cottage just after dusk without speaking to either of them, and went straight to their large, cosy bed. She had picked up the closest pillow and just screamed into it. Kieran had jumped in surprise and Mark had rushed over, hovering helplessly as she lifted her head and then pounded the pillow futilely with her fists, before throwing it at the wall.

She was tired of being perfect. Of being above reproach.

“The world, just the world,” she said, tiredly. She reached out and they were by her side, her steadfast loves.

“Shall we destroy the world for you?” Mark murmured into her hair, as he stroked it gently.

“We would do that, for you,” Kieran told her, as he held her hands, his eyes shining eerily in the moonlight.

“I know,” Cristina replied, swallowing back a sob. “I don’t want that though- I just want it to be easier. Like it is here, with you both.”

They exchanged glances over her head. “I think destroying the world may be the easier ask,” Mark said.

She let out a small, forlorn laugh.

Kieran raised his hands to cup her waist, moving closer to her and Mark and she sighed, allowing herself to relax between them as their bodies warmed her.

“May we offer comfort and distraction in the meantime- come back to this thorny issue at a later date?” Mark asked.

“Yes, please,” Cristina said, and she surrendered to their kisses.

I'm glad I'm not alone :)

One of the main reasons I brought up the TMI gang and Malec specifically, is because I see so many people getting upset over the Wessa stuff in TLH- which is also valid- but then go on these huge tangents on how we need more Malec content!! When in my personal opinion they have been run past the point of exhaustion the most.

TDI and TMI are series' that have been run to the bone, and as someone who really looks forward to new characters and new stories, it's, in all honesty, kinda pathetic and cheap of cc to keep using her popular characters after they have been done for years now.

Especially when they're are such more interesting characters in her books.

I know that this point has been made several times, but I, and most of the fandom, would much rather prefer a novela bind up of Haline, Kierarkina (I'm so sorry, I don't know how to spell it) or Kit and Ty (Not even necessarily together, because they're characters who have been associated with the other for long enough. Although I know so many people would love a novela bind up of them after TWP when they're most likely hopefully going to be together!)

We don't need more Clace content.

Malec got married, had children, have their own trilogy, let them go.

Clace and company have saved the world like twice now, give it a rest. We have this whole 'Emma is the next Jace' setup but Jace still comes in to save the day. I don't even really like Blackstairs but I'd rather read more of them than keep having Clace come back.

Haline, KitTy, Kierarktina, yes absolutely! But Lily Chen and Maia too, I'd love to see how they're doing outside of Alec's alliance thingo.

She tried to give us the 'Next Generation of Shadowhunters' and then TMI gang still came for the limelight.

Kierarkina kind of reminds me of Herongraystairs and that crap hurts

Because you have Kieran and Mark and you have Tessa and Jem and Jem and Kieran love Tessa and Mark more than anything. But Tessa and Mark love them because they can. It's more comfort than passion.

And then you have Will and Christina who love both of them so much. But you have Tessa and Mark who love them passionately not because comfortable, but because they keep them in the edge of their seats.

Ik Kierarkina ends different but idk I get the same vibe (sorry if none of that made sense)

So, do you believe that it is at all probable that Kieran will take the Unseelie thrown after his father dies, thus, destroying Kierarktina, and leaving Cristina and Mark to be together?

I still have not fully finished LoS because I know once I finish it I will have to wait FOREVER for book 3 and it will slowly kill me. So I am attempting to savor every moment of it. I am halfway through and where I am at in the book I am aware of Kieran's father's hatred of him and I personally feel as though once his father dies he will leave the mercy of the unseelie court in the hands of one of his other sons. I am not sure if any tensions change between where I am and the end of the book. But as far as I know I don't think Kieran's father would allow Kieran to snag the title of king. Plus Kierarkina is ENDGAME.
