Jessica McCormack disappeared under suspicious circumstances in July 2019. Before vanishing, the 25-year-old was planning on making some major changes in her life. Jessica wanted to move with her three young daughters from Noel, Missouri to St. Louis. Before she had the chance, she went missing. Jessica's body was found about two weeks later near Missouri Highway 59 between Lanagan and Noel. She had been murdered, and her body was stuffed into her own suitcase. The last confirmed sighting of Jessica occurred on July 16th, 2019. Just two days earlier, Jessica and her three daughters spent time with Jessica's best friend, Megan Bailey, at Megan's residence. According to Megan, Jessica was going to be picked up on July 16th by Ibraham Akfeen - the father of her youngest child. Then, Jessica, Akfeen, and the children were all going to move to St. Louis. The one thing holding Jessica back was her relationship with a man named Mahamud Tooxoow Mahamed. Mahamed and Jessica were married - not legally, but through the Muslim faith. Their relationship was reportedly tumultuous and Jessica had told people that if something bad happened to her, Mahamed was likely responsible. Due to this, Jessica's friend Megan grew worried when Jessica stopped answering her calls and texts on July 15th. Megan was even more alarmed when she was contacted by Akfeen, who told her that he had received a concerning message from Jessica's phone. Megan and police officers both went to Jessica's home on July 16th. Megan stated that nobody answered the door, but she could tell that there were people inside the apartment. Other reports state that officers were, in fact, able to confirm that Jessica was inside the home - but this was the last known sighting of her alive. Thirteen days later, Jessica's body was found. An exact cause of death has never been revealed, but it is clear that she was a victim of homicide. After investigators identified the body as that of Jessica McCormack, they wanted to confirm that her children were safe. The only problem was, police could not find the children. At that point, an Amber Alert was issued. The public was asked to be on the lookout for both Mahamed and the kids. On August 8th, 2019, the children were found safe in Des Moines, Iowa - at the home of one of Mahamed's former co-workers. The former co-worker told police that Mahamed and the children had arrived at her house on August 5th. On the morning of August 8th, the woman found a note from Mahamed stating that he could not care for the children. Police then issued a warrant for Mahamed's arrest. He was being charged with kidnapping Jessica's oldest daughter - as the girl's father had not given consent for her to be taken across state lines. Police could not immediately take Mahamed into custody because he went on the run. It took about two years, but Mahamed was finally located in Guatemala during the summer of 2021. He was extradited back to the United States, where he was formally charged with kidnapping. Those charges are currently pending.
There have still not been any arrests for the murder of Jessica McCormack. Many believe that Mahamed is responsible for her death, but he still has not faced any charges relating to Jessica's case. As of today, her case is labeled as unsolved. If you have any information that could help lead to the arrest of Jessica's killer(s), please contact Noel authorities at (417) 475-6237.

caretaker wasn’t supposed to be doing this, they weren’t a caretaker, and surely whumpee is capable of taking care of themselves, right? surely they’re old enough, so why does caretaker need to be there? they hate it, waking up every morning to an overly excited whumpee rambling about their dreams, they make breakfast and attempt to tune out of the annoying endless chatter, and they spend their evenings praying to everything above that whumpee would just go to bed-
until one day whumpee’s gone. they dropped them off at school without a word, watched them as they happily waved them off before turning to their friends. but now they’re gone, they’re not waiting in that same spot out of the school, there’s no sight of them or their backpack riddled with dozens of cute keychains and pins. caretaker jumps out of their car, heads towards the friends they pretended not to notice, demanding to know where their charge is. the shrugs tell them nothing, so they go home.
maybe whumpee will show up later, the peace and quiet will be nice after all.
a few hours pass, and caretaker cooks them a meal for when they’re home.
they watch the clock tick by and pass their favourite channel as they scroll through the tv, their show is on.
whumpee never comes home, and soon they’re at the police station. the police call them a few days later, and all caretaker hears is “i’m sorry- kidnapped-“
caretaker waits in the silence, they cook two meals every night in case whumpee comes strolling through that door with their giddy smile and endless stories, they save their show so they can catch up, and they practice their “i don’t care about you, but don’t do that again” lecture.
it’s months before caretaker gets the call, and this time the only word they hear is “hospital”
caretaker isn’t worried, or angry or scared, not by whumpee’s pale, bruised face, the frail form or the scars that peak out from the covers. caretaker doesn’t care- and they’re not crying from relief, they’re not gripping their hand tightly as they thank every god above, because whumpee is nothing more than an inconvenience-
whumpee is so small now, they shake and stutter, and the small smiles they manage don’t reach their eyes. when they’re home, whumpee doesn’t talk, not really, they answer caretakers questions and they mumble a shaky thank you when they’re given food, but they don’t ramble. not like they used to.
and caretaker finds themselves filling in the silence, sat on the couch talking and talking, about what whumpee’s missed, their friends and hell- even caretaker’s friends. they hand them the remote to watch their show and they tuck them in at night, and they pray that one day whumpee will smile again, perhaps wake them with that annoyingly cheerful “morning caretaker!” once more, or even just talk about the meaningless things in their life.
the whumpee they let crawl into their bed after they wake up screaming, the whumpee that hides behind them in front of strangers, the whumpee that quietly asks them questions isn’t their whumpee. and all caretaker can think is that if they’d just listened; payed a little more attention to their endless stream of words, their whumpee would be here.

I love how these two don't give a flying fuck about their own safety but when it's about the safety of their best friend? Their childhood buddy? Their good-time pal?? Their brother in arms?!
You better goddamn believe they'll take that seriously.
Tumblr media
Dick's all 'oh a bunch of assassins and mob bosses are after me and I'm injured but it's fine, I got this handled-' and Wally already has the man tucked into the pullout couch bed at his house before he's finished the sentence.
Tumblr media
Wally's all 'okay so I know that the future version of me is dead on the floor and I'm supposed to die after fighting a fire BUT I can't not help if there are people who need me, so I'll just fight this forest fire and-' Meanwhile Dick already has 60 tranq darts locked and loaded and the floor lined with anti gravity beams.

Juno Steel and Arthur Lester should partner up to solve a case. They have one eye between them. One has the will to live and the other one has the will to kill. Both have guns but one of them is a sharpshooter and the other one just lives in america. One hates kids and the other one loves them. Both are wanted by the law. One is hardly ever on the same planet as his other half and the other shares a body with his other half. Both have beeen stabbed and shot more times than they can count. I could go on forever.

Make off (dp x dc)
The important thing here was not to panic, Jazz thought to herself as she strained against her restraints fruitlessly. She tried to take a deep breath but the dirty gag that had been shoved into her mouth made it hard to do. In fact, with the way the left side of her face was swelling due to that punch she'd gotten earlier, breathing was hard in general right now. Jazz was in bad shape and she knew it.
She'd known Gotham was a dangerous choice, but she'd thought if she took precautions, if she stayed out of everything, she would be fine. She was a psych major in a city with lots of insane psychopaths, sure, but she was angling for family therapy, which was very much not going to put her anywhere near the infamous Arkham. And yet.
Jazz closed her eyes. It was useless to dwell on the past when she needed all her capacities to escape her current situation. She consciously did not look over to the misshapen pile she could see in a corner of the room, and very carefully did not take note of how she could distinguish the shape of something that looked like a cut off arm. Instead, she looked to the side, towards a slumped, tied up figure. He looked to be in his early twenties. Jazz managed to nudge at him with her foot in an attempt to wake him up.
It took a few tries before the guy started moving. It had taken the guy a second to come to, and when he did it was with a muffled shout. Jazz looked around, alarmed that someone had heard. She desperately tried to catch his eye as she vigorously shook her head in an attempt to signal him to shut up. He seemed to understand the message, but it was unfortunately too late.
"Oh, good. The new shipment is awake." It was a man in a white lab coat that had come out of a door off to the side. He was wearing surgical gloves and had rolled in a gurney. Jazz backed away from the man which simultaneously pressed herself into the wall, behind the other victim. As she did she felt a sharp pain in her arm as something sharp pressed into it. Could it be?
"I usually have more in stock but harvest has been poor lately."
Jazz made a show of pressing herself closer to the wall in fear to disguise her tracing the outline of the sharp thing. It felt like a piece of metal that was sticking out of the broken down, rusty walls.
The man in white looked over at her before he turned his attention towards the other victim. He strode over, crouched next to the bound man before grabbing his chin to tilt it upwards. The guy struggled against the grip but their kidnapper held firm.
Jazz took the opportunity to position her bound hands against the sharp thing and start sawing her restraint on the sharp edge experimentally. Back and forth.
"Hm," the scientist mused as he turned the guy's face to the sides, before letting go and brushing his hand against his pristine pants. Jazz stopped moving. "You'll do," he concluded before turning towards the gurney and taking a few things out of the side pockets.
Jazz started on the sawing again, this time more vigorously, grateful her partner in adversity was partially hiding her by the way he was positioned. She looked up to make sure her abductor was busy and caught him inserting the needle of a syringe into a bottle of unknown substance. She stifled a hiss as she cut the skin of her wrist on accident, and carried on her repetitive motion. She could feel the zip-tie starting to give way when the creep turned back towards them with a full syringe.
"Here we go," he said as he turned towards the younger man who just glared at him. The creep paid it no mind as he plunged the syringe into the younger guy's neck and pushed the plunger all the way down. Her fellow captive tried to headbutt the creep but he evaded it.
The creep turned back towards the gurney and Jazz took the chance. She gave a big heave and was rewarded by the snap of the zip-ties. After that it all happened very fast.
The creep started to turn around, only to be met with Jazz's roundhouse kick to the head. She immediately turned to the gurney, betting on there being a scalpel and was rewarded with the sight of a surgical knife instead. She grabbed it and made short work of her fellow captive's restraint.
As she was helping his up, a voice came from the corridor the creep had come out. "Boss?"
Jazz froze.
"You ok, Boss?" came a second voice.
Jazz looked to the now-freed man who looked back intently, though she could see how hard he was trying not to lose focus. Whatever was in the syringe was starting to take hold. She didn't know how many guys where there and her companion was clearly in no condition to help her fight. Their best chance was to run away and regroup later.
Jazz didn't have time to hesitate, she grabbed the guy's arm and started running down one of the tunnels leading away from the approaching voices.
Hopefully a head-start would be enough to make up for her flagging companion.

Ok but the parallel of Gamora being a scared little girl on a planet that was crumbling and was being invaded by a cosmic fascist who killed half the people and kidnapped her from her family, raising her as his own and grooming her to be his weapon in his further fascist conquests
And Loki… being a scared little boy on a planet that was crumbling and was being invaded by a cosmic imperialist who killed half the people and kidnapped him from his family, raising him as his own and grooming him to be his weapon in his further imperial conquests.
Also: “Everything I hate about myself, you taught me.”

Whumper, who had lost their adult child (either by death, estranged, something like that), finds Whumpee, who bears a striking similarity to their child.
So Whumper kidnaps them, and began to treat Whumpee as if they were their own child that was gone, like feeding them foods that their child loved. Whumpee, who had a life, friends, and even worried family, tried to escape, but Whumper "punishes" them by putting them in their room (their holding cell), and even outright torturing them for "misbehaving".
