Onoghur (Hetalia OC)
finally, she's done :D :D :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(and yeah, I decided to keep the eminem reference :D I also added references to bulgar culture, such as khan Kubrat's seal and the IYI symbol, I wonder what kind of rap she'd make)
character info under the cut
onoghur
lived in the early medieval times, most likely was born before that
an oghur turkic tribe, name means ten tribes
onoghurs were nomads who lived in yurts. they were warriors, hunters, fishers and animal herders. also, they were famous for marten skin trade
was born somewhere in the western steppe, perhaps the lands of modern-day kazakhstan, doesn't remember where
might have been a part of the tiele confederation
doesn't remember having any parents, has two brothers, saraghur and oghur
lost contact with her brothers after they separated in the 5th century, each of them seeking a better life, they never met again
she cared about them and was attached to them. after this, she never wanted to be emotionally close to anyone, friends (avar), her husband bulgar, or even her kids (volga bulgaria, danube bulgaria, the kid representing kuber's bulgars, the kid representing alcek's bulgars)
married bulgar in the 7th century, creating a confederation called old great bulgaria, also known as patria onoghuria
the fact that her people traded with marten skin shows that onoghurs lived near forests and had contact with finno-ugric tribes, so perhaps she knew hungary's father, magyar (who, interestingly, was influenced by oghuric peoples)
if she was a part of the tiele confederation, then there's a chance she knew oghuz (turkey's ancestor) when they were kids, they probably don't remember each other though
admired avar (she even feared him a bit before they met) and became friends with him
a warrior, headstrong and freedom-loving, would never submit (her husband was similar)
also pragmatic, cool, confident, not very talkative or enthusiastic, a bit distant, easygoing, kinda smug (can find a reason to look down on anyone if she wants to), a bit thoughtful
likes to banter
genuine, honest, thinks lying is for weaklings and cowards
maybe her mbti type could be ISTP and her enneagram and tritype could be 8w9 854 sp/sx
then she married bulgar and they had kids. and khazar attacked them. if they didn't have any kids, they'd probably fight to the death.
bulgar submitted to khazar so he could give her and the kids time to escape. the kids needed her, she couldn't go and fight alongside her husband. bulgar became a soldier under khazar's rule, bleeding in wars that aren't his, just so his wife and children could live unbothered.
she, together with two of the children, went to avar's place. in the chaos, another one of the kids ended up being taken to the lower danube and another one was taken to middle volga.
at avar's place, kuber took a group of bulgars (represented by one of her kids) to the bitola field in modern-day macedonia and alcek took another group (represented by the other kid) to italy
she and avar survived until magyar and his little kid came. by that point, they were terminally ill due to their people being in a process of assimilation with the locals. they died peacefully.
her living her final days in pannonia perhaps caused a confusion between her and magyar's kid. like why do so many nations refer to magyar's daughter with a distorted version of her name - hungary, when said daugher calls herself magyar, just like her dad? :D in the 10th century, hungarians would call bulgarians nándor, which itself is derived from onoghur

What if Nikolay's dead brothers: Bayan, Kotrag (Volga Bulgaria), Kuber, Alcek and Rumen (East Rumelia) came back to life as well as all other dead nations including Nikolay's parents. Basically UN creates a machine that gets all dead nations back to life.
/BTW, Bayan, Kotrag, Kuber and Alcek are Asparuh's brothers (the khan who creates Bulgaria) so we put them on the list. /
/I also think about Nikolay as a person who have been very cold and scary, but when his brothers come back to life he changes. He loves his brothers more than everything else in the world and the reason he had been acting this way is that he had missed his brothers so much so he didn't want to get that close to other people because he is scared that he will lose them too. /

THE TRAVEL OF MISHAP
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE JOY
It reminds me of my travel to Singapore once in 2016. The day my father told about it, I was very excited from the start. I was planning a lot enjoy in Singapore and did a lot of surfing through the net.
I still remember me reading the e-ticket to the flight that we were about to board to, It said the reporting time as 26.09.2016 AM. We went a day after and were careless in reading the AM in it, and reported it the next day.
THE LATE HOURS
We went a day after the reporting time, meantime we were denied the entry into the airport, and my mother was worried about the updating of the location in Facebook from Chennai to Singapore.
My father was trembling with angst and fear the same time and we the family members felt the same way. We encountered a service counter at the airport of Chennai which was at that time called the “Bathra counter”
As we were denied entry. We called the friend who dropped us at the airport and told him the situation prevailing at that time. By then he suggested us to stay for a day in Chennai in an Inn and think about reconsidering the travel to Singapore once again.
I remember were on the ECR road travelling towards searching an inn for a stay. I was suggesting my father to halt our stay in Pondicherry for the days we booked in Singapore.
My father suggested to reconsider the trip to Singapore and with relentless efforts the ticket to Singapore was reimbursed to the four of us for free of cost. I still remember the name of the inn it is “Kuber Inn”.
The flight we boarded in after missing the flight the previous day was top of it, yes it was a business class tickets which was reimbursed to us.
THE BURDEN IN SINGAPORE
We were even denied entry at the resort we were about to stay in because we reported there in present the subsequent day. My dad spoke to a fellow Indian wherein the efforts made was pointless and he was denying entry to the room allotted to us. Then my father approached the superior management and it was helpful and we got our rooms back to stay.
As an eighth wonder we got our passes to the visiting sites which had extended due dates.
THE PART OF ENJOYMENT
As the passes to the sites were reimbursed we managed to see all the sites in one and half-a-day, which elsewise would have been 3 long free days without a hurry.
THE PLACES WE VISITED
Merlion
Madame  Tussades Wax museum
Cracker show
Vivo city
Universal Studios
The snake.
THE BIG THREE
Merlion
I had a great recall of memory visiting Merlion and the fun we had there, I even visited the manufacturing place of “AXE BRAND OIL” and as a tourist we were given free giveaways of the products they had.
Madame Tussades Wax Museum
I had a cherishing memory of seeing the idols of mine in wax, some are Ronaldo “The goat”, Johnny Depp, Sharukh Khan, Marlyn Munroe, Backstreet Boys, and Oprah Winfrey etc.
Universal studio
This was a blast according to me, I had fun rides all day long from Transformers, Sesame Street, and The Mummy. I bought a raincoat from there which has imprinted its logo in there which is still my souvenir from the trip had.
My first travel in metro
An Indian helped us travel to the vivo city while we were gallivanting by seeing the beauty of Singapore, as from there we travelled to the Vivo city, which is a city in Singapore famous for tourism where I had my meal at Mc Donald’s, which was tech savvy to the core.
THE HAPPY RETURN
We had our return ticket to our flight pre booked in “Air Asia” and thank god no knows it till date, before me blogging it. Read and experience it!

The Mumbai Attacks:
On 26 November 2008 ten terrorists entered Mumbai through the sea route and created havoc that lasted for 4 days. The terrorists were the members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamist terrorist organization from Pakistan. According to reports, around 174 people died and a further 300 were wounded during these attacks which shook entire India.
The 10 heavily armed men started from Karachi, Pakistan in a small boat on 22 November 2008. After 40 minutes they shifted to a larger boat known as "Al-Husseini" which belonged to the chief commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. On 23 November 2008, they noticed an Indian registered fishing boat "MV Kuber" docked beside "Al-Husseini". This boat had five crew members four of which were shifted to " Al-Husseini" and the captain of the trawler, Amar Singh Solanki was allowed to stay with them in the boat. The four other crew members who boarded the Al-Husseini were later killed by the members of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The terrorists boarded the "MV Kuber" and Solanki navigated the boat to point four nautical miles off Mumbai. The terrorists killed Solanki here and they traveled the last four miles in an inflatable speedboat reaching Badhwar Park, South Mumbai at about 8:00 P.M. The group of ten was subsequently divided into smaller groups as they set forth to attack the most popular areas across Mumbai.
Tumblr media
The places targetted during the attacks.
They first started their attack at the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The station being one of the busiest hubs in Mumbai was packed with people, some arriving at their destination while some others waiting to board their trains. Two terrorists Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab(20 years) and Dera Ismail Khan(25 years) entered the train station at about 9:20 P.M armed with grenades and AK-47. They open-fired at the people. A railway announcer named Vishnu Dattaram Zende immediately alerted the people through his announcements to leave the station and was able to save many lives. The attacks continued until 10:45 P.M and resultingly 58 people were killed and more than 100 were severely injured. They fled the scene all the while firing at the pedestrians and policemen.
Tumblr media
The aftermath of the attacks at the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Their next target was the Cama and Albless Hospital, famous for its gynecology facilities. The two terrorists had barged into the hospital and had immediately killed two guards Bhanu Narkar and Baban Walu. As soon as the doctors and nurses got a whiff that the hospital was under attack, they immediately set into action. They locked all the ward doors, switched off the lights, and even prepared themselves to conduct deliveries in utmost silence. By the time the police arrived the terrorists had placed themselves on the terrace along with doctors who they held as hostages. They went on to haul grenades at the police and even indulged in an open fire. After 40-50 minutes of continuous firing, the terrorists fled from the scene. By this time an anti-terrorist squad led by police chief Hemant Karkare arrived near the Hospital. Kasab and Khan fired on their vehicle, and the police retaliated. Karkare, Vijay Salaskar, Ashok Kamte, and one of their officers were killed. The only survivor, Constable Arun Jadhav, was severely wounded. Kasab and Khan seized the police vehicle and fled from the scene but later abandoned it in the middle of the road and seized another passenger car. They then ran into a police roadblock. As soon as the terrorists and police came face to face a gun battle ensued which resulted in the death of Ismail Khan. After a physical struggle, Kasab was arrested. A police officer, Tukaram Omble, was martyred as he courageously tried to disarm Kasab by wrestling his weapon away from him.

Bullet marks left on the walls of the Cama and Albless Hospital.
Another early site of the Mumbai attacks was the Leopold Cafe. Two terrorists namely Abu Abdar Rahman(25 years) and Abu Umar(23 years) open fired inside the restaurant which being a popular watering hole was packed with Indians and foreigners alike. They exploded a grenade in the cafe and killed 10 people and injured many others. They spent about 5 minutes in the restaurant and rushed towards the Taj Mahal Hotel. The cafe which was established in 1871 underwent extensive damage and even today one could see bullet marks still left on the walls from the attacks. Even after all this, the cafe reopened after 4 days to signify their war against terrorism.
Tumblr media
Bullet marks in Leopold Cafe which were never repaired and are kept as a reminder of the dark phase.
Around this time in other parts of the city there were two blasts in taxis caused by timer bombs. The first one occurred at 10:40 at Vile Parle which killed the driver and a passenger. The second explosion took place at Wadi Bunder between 10:20 and 10:25. Three people, including the driver of the taxi, were killed, and about 15 others were injured.
The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the Oberoi Trident were the next targetted locations. The Taj Mahal Hotel is a heritage building in Mumbai. Four terrorists namely Abu Saheb(21 years) and Abu Ali(22 years) along with the two who attacked Leopold cafe entered the hotel divided into two pairs. The first pair entered the main lobby at 9:38 P.M while the other entered the North Court entrance at 9:43 P.M. They started an open fire as soon as they entered the Hotel and even started hurling grenades. They moved from one floor to another killing any and everyone they crossed paths with. They even set fire to a part of the hotel causing massive damage to certain floors. The hotel staff showed presence of mind and tried alerting as many guests as possible regarding the attacks. There was a hostage situation due to the attacks as many guests locked themselves up in their room and many were isolated in different parts of the hotel. Even at these trying times, the hotel staff showed incredible courage and wisdom as they risked their own lives trying to save as many people as possible in any way present and materialized the famous Indian proverb "अतिथिदेवो भव" which means Guests are God. According to reports, none of the employees fled the scene at the face of danger to protect themselves, even when they had the option to do so. In the Taj Mahal Hotel, 32 people were killed with the majority being the hotel staff.

The Taj Mahal Hotel under attack.
In the Oberoi Trident, at about 10:00 P.M two terrorists namely Abdul Rehman Chotta(21 years) and Fahadullah(23 years) entered through the front entrance and started indiscriminately firing at the people. Here, they detonated two IEDs and moved up towards the different floors to kill more people. On the 16th and 18th floor they collected some guests and kept them as hostages. Here, 33 persons were killed.
During the attacks, both hotels were surrounded by Rapid Action Force personnel and Marine Commandos (MARCOS) and National Security Guards (NSG) commandos. Security forces stormed both hotels, and all nine attackers were killed by the morning of 29 November. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan of the NSG was martyred during the rescue of Commando Sunil Yadav, who was injured during the rescue operations.
The Nariman House, a Chabad Lubavitch Jewish center in Colaba known as the Mumbai Chabad House was occupied by a Rabbi and his family who generally accommodated visiting Jews. At about 10:25 P.M two terrorists, Abu Akasa(25 years) and Abu Umer(28 years) entered the five-storied building all the while firing in the air. Inside the house, they went from door to door searching for people to kill. Many of these people were taken as hostages and were bound and tortured. The terrorists during the attack in the Nariman House were involved in continuous fire with the police throughout the night of 26 November and up till the next day. The terrorists hurled grenades in the nearby lanes and even detonated an IED which blew away the rear wall of the house. Rescue operations were conducted and 14 people were rescued. 173 people were killed in the attacks along with the owners of the house Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and Rivka Holtzberg who was also 6 months pregnant during the attacks. Sandra Samuel, who was working in the center for the previous five years and was the nanny of Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg's and Rivka Holtzberg's son Moshé Holtzberg showed incredible courage as she rescued the two-year-old Moshe from inside the house even when the terrorists were continuing their attacks.
Tumblr media
The destruction in the Nariman House due to the attacks.
On 28 November, NSG commandos came in to conduct rescue operations in the Nariman house, and a Naval helicopter took an aerial survey. During the first day, 9 hostages were rescued from the first floor. 22 NSG commandos on the following day fast-roped from helicopters onto the roof of the Nariman House, covered by snipers positioned in nearby buildings. NSG Commando Sergeant Gajender Singh Bisht was martyred after a long gun battle with the terrorists. Both the terrorists died here.
The NSG was successful in rescuing 250 people from the Oberoi, 300 from the Taj, and 60 people from Nariman House.

The photo of Ajmal Kasab that Sebastian D’Souza captured in Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Ajmal Kasab was the only terrorist arrested alive by the police. His trial was initially delayed as no lawyer wanted to represent him. Later on, a lawyer was somehow found to represent him in court. On 25th February 2009 Indian investigators filed an 11000-page charge sheet against Kasab accusing him of murder, conspiracy, and waging war. On 3 May 2010, Kasab was found guilty of all 86 crimes. On 6th May 2010, he was sentenced to death by hanging. He further appealed in the Bombay High court. On 21 February 2011, the high court upheld the previous sentence. On 29th August 2012, the Supreme Court too upheld the death sentence for Kasab. On 21 November 2012, at 7:30 A.M Kasab was hanged in secret in Pune's Yerwada Jail.

Ring in the festivities with fashion
Over the past year, the coronavirus pandemic has impacted the wedding industry, bringing about changes to the (once) thriving culture. With couples mindfully choosing to downsize their weddings to opting for more economical decor and catering, the biz has seen unprecedented changes. However, fashion and shopping for clothes for the big day has not lost their sheen, it seems. In line with the wedding and festive season, popular fashion and lifestyle exhibition brand, Melange, is back to serve a slice of opulence and elegance to its shoppers.
“The consumer behaviour has changed over the last year. Weddings have become more personalised — with a shorter guest list but more fun! However, there is no compromising on what people wear. After all, weddings are the only occasion where people can deck up without thinking twice. Through our exhibition and our offerings, we hope to cater to people with different needs. The Golden Apple is a fantasy animated series based on the vastly unknown Balkan legends and folklore. In a magical world, people and spirits are at the edge of war. The peace lays in the hands of four main characters who set out on an epic adventure to find the golden apple – a mythical artifact that has the power to fulfill wishes. Help us fund the first 24-minute episode of the series, which presents the ancient and exotic world of Balkan legends and folklore in a modern and relatable way!
The world of The Golden Apple animated series
Tumblr media
This fantasy world is inhabited by humans and spirits. Most spirits are related to a specific force of nature or natural element; for example, the zmei spirits control the storms and fogs, and the samodiva spirits control the rivers.
Humans and spirits have lived in peace and cooperation for hundreds of years in the city of Khan and the surrounding rose valley, which has led to unprecedented development and growth – making Khan the most developed city in the known world.
However, this is not the case everywhere. Far away from Khan, in the Kuker Mountains, people and spirits have been in open conflict for generations. The cities there are built like fortresses, and have huge, magical bells at their gates, to protect them from the evils, lurking in the shadows of the mountains.
Тhe only way people can even survive in the Kuker Mountains is because of the Kuker warriors – specially trained fighters who use their magic bells and intricate costumes to fight off the evil spirits and protect the humans. People who want to be Kuker warriors have to attend special Kuker schools and spend years learning how to wield the magical bells.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, in the vast, wild Kuber Mountain, people and spirits tend to stay away from each other and don’t really have an established dynamic. The people of Kuber Mountain are known as Balkandjees.
The main story in The Golden Apple animated series
Tumblr media
Once every hundred years a comet crosses the sky, and wherever it falls, a magical tree appears. The tree bears a single golden apple, which has the power to fulfill wishes. Once the comet appears, creatures and spirits from all over the world set forth to look for the mystical artifact, hoping it will solve all their troubles and problems.
Meanwhile, a conflict between humans and spirits in the city of Khan quickly escalates, and the peace is lost.
Vihra, the daughter of the two leaders – Vulkan Zmei, leader of the spirits, and Iskra – mayor of Khan, sees no other way to help her parents, and decides to go and find the golden apple. She plans to wish for peace, and thus save her home town and her family.
She is joined by her best friend – the Samodiva spirit Tina.
Tina-Pakostina is Vihra’s best friend – a mischievous, very talkative samodiva spirit who likes playing jokes. As a samodiva nymph, she can influence nature around herself through her song and dance. Tina belongs to a conservative Samodiva tribe from the forest near the town of Khan, but she is curious about the world outside her forest so every chance she gets, she sneaks out in search of adventures with Vihra.
Meanwhile, our other two main characters – the brothers Bran and Vlad – accidentally become responsible for the destruction of the Kuker guide. The Kuker guide is an ancient book, which is said to contain all the secrets of the Kuker magic, which the Kuker warriors use to fight evil spirits. Bran and Vlad decide that there is no other way to save their people, but to find the golden apple and wish for a new Kuker guide.
Tumblr media
But to succeed, the events lead the two brothers to only one option. The two kuker brothers, who have been taught from an early age that all spirits are evil, have to join Vihra – an obvious half-spirit, and Tina – a samodiva water spirit, on a huge adventure. At first, there is conflict in the group – Bran and Vlad don't want to trust the half-spirit girl and the samodiva water spirit, and there is only one golden apple. During the course of the series however, this conflict turns into a legendary friendship.
I first heard about this project last year and I was really excited about it because Balkan folklore is really rich but a huge part of it is not recorded well and is used in modern productions extremely rarely (if ever).
Not to mention animated productions are such rarity in Bulgaria and this is a project that combines both animation and Balkan folklore. Apparently the team of this project spent years researching folklore so I hope it will be as accurate as possible while being entertaining.
The project really needs help now though! You can help by donating >HERE<
Or if you can’t afford it or simply don’t wish to donate, please consider signal boosting this post so it could reach more people.
