The much-awaited Durga Puja brings life and celebration to a small street in the center of North Kolkata. Kashi Bose Lane, one of the oldest Barowari Pujas in the area, has a long tradition of celebrating the goddess’s homecoming.
This year, as Durga Puja already arrived, there is a unique sense of excitement, and the theme they’ve selected is “Child Trafficking”, which is not only fascinating but also socially important.
Uncovering Kashi Bose Lane Theme: Child Trafficking
Everyone was in wonder and deep thought when the Kashi Bose Lane Puja committee revealed this year’s theme. The topic of child trafficking resonates with the general public and draws attention to a serious problem. The artists have poured their hearts and souls into creating idols and scenes that celebrate the victory of good over evil while illustrating the awful fact of child trafficking.
Sashi Panja, the minister of women’s & children’s development and social welfare in Bengal, conducted a “Chokkhudan” on Wednesday, by drawing the goddess’s eye. 86 club members have also promised to donate their eyes in honor of the 86th Durga Puja celebration, showing their dedication to a worthwhile cause. This effort now has the backing from the Bengal Health Department.
Somen Dutta, a general secretary of the Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja Samity said, “Trafficking has become a terrifying shadow throughout the world as an organized crime. We wonder if children of all ages will ever be able to return to society after being auctioned off and sold into child labor, begging, or sexual exploitation. So, in this environment of such hardship, do they still desire to be ‘Umas’?”
This year’s theme was created by Rintu Das, while Amal Pal brought the idols to life, and Srijato wrote the Kashi Bose Lane theme tune. Visitors can enter the pandal starting on October 16.

Humble request to the President
Get the biography of Kabir Saheb ji corrected
Wrong- Kabir Saheb ji appeared in the year 1448, 1399, etc.
Correct- Kabir Saheb ji's Prakaatya took place in Jyeshtha month of Shukla Purnamasi Vikrami Sawant 1455 (A.D. 1398) on Monday (the time of Brahma Muhurta which is about one and a half hours before sunrise). The proof of this is that since the time of revered Kabir Saheb ji, his manifest day is celebrated every year by his followers.

Navaratri Special Homas | Vyasi
Tumblr media
Dear Friends and Blessed Souls,
Navaratri (9 nights of mother divine in fall) is fast approaching from Wednesday October 7th to Friday October 15th, 2021. Navaratri is a traditional Vedic festival that happens twice a year: once in spring and again in fall. We honor the mother divine, the divine feminine energy controlling the universe who is the embodiment of power, wealth, and knowledge (Kali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, respectively). The Divine forms of this energy manifest themselves in devotees’ lives and sadhana (spiritual practice) during Navaratri. Meditating and surrendering ourselves to the mother divine balances out our natal charts' planetary positions and uplifts our self-confidence.
During this Navaratri, “VYASI” (Vedic yagya Astro Solutions) Vedic remedies invites you all to participate in the powerful light-energy through goddess Durga/Kali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. No one will be turned away. These remedial Pujas and Homas are very powerful and remove negative karmas. Their benefits are many: professional, personal, financial, business, legal, protection, healing, and enlightenment. These Vedic Navaratri ceremonies grant participants strength to confront all obstacles.
Over the nine days, our expert Vedic pundits perform Kali/Durga/Chandi Yagyas for protection and legal matters, Lakshmi Yagyas for financial gains and business success, and Dasamahavidya for many specific matters and spiritual benefits.
May the divine feminine trinity (Maha kali, Mahalakshmi, and Maha Saraswati) bless you, your family and friends, and may all wishes and desires be fulfilled. May this Autumn season bring joy and happiness to us all!
NOTE: All Yagyas performed at our center in India, KASHI (Varanasi) (abode Shiv-Shakti), and all Pujas and homas will broadcast Live.

The onset of festive season in India has confused both the people and authorities regarding the modes of celebration. It is certain, however, celebration as usual is not possible in the time of the corona pandemic.
Last month, the public celebrations of the Muharram procession and Ganesh Chaturthi were barred by the local officials. Ahead of Ramlila and Durga Puja, the authorities across the country are planning to curtail large gatherings.
The world-famous Ramlila in Varanasi, the oldest Ramlila committee of the country, too has announced that Ramlila will be enacted by puppets this year. Ramnagar Ramlila had started in the early 1800s during the reign of the then Kashi Naresh, Maharaja Udit Narayan Singh.
Every year, it starts on Anant Chaturdashi and continues for the next 31 days. It will be broadcast on social media every day from September 30 to October 30.
These wooden masks are also on sale and those who want can enact Ramlila within their family too, said one of the organizers. Apart from this, Bharat Milap of Nakataiya and Nati Tamarind in Chetganj are included in the Lakkha Fair in Kashi. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) has recognized the event as an intangible world cultural heritage.
Millions of tourists used to come to Varanasi to watch these events every year, but this time the coronavirus has eclipsed the event. Almost all events have been canceled.
