"Not that it matters, but I was thinking we should get a bite to eat sometime." Y/N said. He was watching Brandon build a fence all shirtless and sweaty. Their parents had been friends for years, and Y/N always had a crush on Brandon, but he was with Ruby. Now, he was single. Not that Y/N would ever assume that Brandon was anything less than straight.
Brandon pounded a wooden stake into the ground and narrowed his eyes at Y/N. "A bite to eat, eh? What like a date?"
"What? No. Not a date. Who said anything about a date? I mean, I certainly didn't." Y/N rambles.
Brandon chuckled. "Too bad it wouldn't be a date. I was actually looking forward to it." He winks.
"Really?"
"Really."

Dear @netflix,
Maybe... just hear me out... instead of canceling great shows that we actually enjoy watching (Shadow and Bone, The Order, Sense8, Santa Clarita Diet, Daybreak, Spinning Out, AJ and the Queen, Altered Carbon, Jupiter's Legacy, Cowboy Bepop, Raising Dion, The Imperfects - to name a FEW)
...just stop churning shows that get bad ratings (The Goop Lab, stuff like Devil in Ohio, Hype House and Too Hot to Handle and The I-Land especially.)
Just stop trading well-written and produced shows for boring and overworked bullshit.
Sincerely,
Just some girl who hates mediocrity
PS. We riot if anything bad happens to Avatar: The Last Airbender.....

Did your favourite show get canceled because Netflix couldn't tell quality if it hit them round the face? Well mine too, so please take time to sign this petition to help get Lockwood and Co moved/renewed if you haven't already!

Poll 1
So far I've received no suggestion of other major couples in (relatively) well-known indie comics and I'm running out of ideas so I'm not sure I'll do another part.
I have other polls about literature, art, etc in my pinned post.

Thinking about Jupiter’s Legacy again, and how it could have been way better than what Netflix delivered. Picture a mini-series following close the plot of the comics, which is a short and interesting plot. The budget they used for that first season could have been enough.
Then we have a movie or another mini-series, that works as a prequel and shows how the “Union of Justice” was formed. Basically, all the flashbacks of the first season, but with more development.
It could have been an interesting project with a satisfying ending. Instead, Netflix tried to copycat The Boys and left us with a mid-show and a cliffhanger. And no answer to what the hell was going on between Walter and George?!!
Yes, this post was inspired by me thinking of Brainwave and Skyfox, again.

Mark Millar: Writes Jupiter's Legacy, his magnum opus, an ambitious epic culminating all his interests, gets a major deal he oversees and is ready to be made into a franchise by the biggest streaming service ever, adapted by the guy who did Daredevil-Already forgotten one season flop.
Garth Ennis: Writes The Boys, probably his most self-indulgent, M rated and agressive thing he ever did, adapted by the guy who did Supernatural-Cultural phenomenon.
Not complaining, but still. Weird.
More like hysterical! Mark Millar has constructed his entire post-Big 2 career around writing comics that double as movie/TV pitches, then when the moment finally comes to adopt his big superhero work - that he crafted as his "Lord of the Rings" and built upon his love for Superman/superheroes - it's unceremoniously cancelled after a single season. They didn't even get to the part where Utopian is killed! Meanwhile Garth Ennis' edgy "superhero" comic, that he wrote simply because he hates capeshit that much, becomes a massive hit because superheroes are so engrained into our pop culture that even the "normies" have started to recognize the clichés and tropes, and therefore are receptive to a show that takes aim at those tropes.
Difference is mainly in the adaption process. Millar apparently micromanaged the whole production, despite being unqualified to do so. Ennis meanwhile doesn't seem all that involved with the show, once the check cleared he handed the IP over and let them do their thing. All of Millar's bad traits were therefore not pruned in the adaption: decompression, taking pot shots at Zack Snyder despite Jupiter's Legacy being just as much a deconstruction, wanting to be political without actually having the brains or guts to say something meaningful, etc. The adaption of The Boys meanwhile keeps the spirit of the comics - it lampoons superheroes no less viciously, it's just as filled with crass sexual content, you continue to get plenty of black comedy - but also satirizes all aspects of our current corporate crafted culture. The Boys managed to grow beyond just being Ennis ranting about how much he hates capes, while delivering an entertaining "evil Superman" story which is all the rage right now. Helps too that all the actors in The Boys are bringing their A-game and the two major leads of Butcher and Homelander are the best actors on the show, whereas the Jupiter's Legacy actors were sleepwalking through their performances.
