Bigfin Squid (Magnapinna pacifica)

Conservation Status- Unlisted

Habitat- Pacific Ocean

Size (Weight/Length)- 6.4 m

Diet- Unknown

Cool Facts- I swear, the deep ocean is more terrifying than space and the bigfin squid makes that clear. These squid drift in the open, deep ocean up to 6,000 meters down. That depth can only be achieved in trenches in the hadal zone, making this the only squid to live so close to the ocean floor. Very little is known about bigfin squid outside of their appearance. Less than a dozen incomplete and juvenile specimens have washed up on beaches and very few have ever been photographed. Only oil rigs and deep sea submarines have managed to capture film of living bigfin squid and we don’t even know if we’ve seen a full grown adult. You might think these squid are slow, ambush predators. However, video exists of a bigfin squid swimming faster than its tentacles seem to allow.

City of Macon, County of Bibb,

State of Georgia.

To the Congress of the United States:

The petition of the undersigned respectfully shows:

1.

That there is pending before Congress a bill to amend the Constitution of the United States, the purpose of which is to confer the right of sufferage upon the women of our Country.

2.

The women of Georgia whose names are signed hereto, and on the list of the petitioners hereto attached, wish hereby to register their solemn protest against the said proposed amendment to our National Constitution. We believe that the proposed amendmend is dangerous and hurtful to the best interests of our Country and especially to the South, in that the inevitable result of the legislation proposed would be to destroy white supremacy and States' rights.

Believing that the best interests of the homes, of society, of the State, and of the Nation, demand that this proposed legislation should be defeated, we, therefore, hereby earnestly petition the Senators of the United States and the Representatives in Congress to vote against this amendment that is fraught with so much danger to the peace and happiness of our Section.

In 2022: My Chemical Romance performed their eighteenth show of the 2022-2023 Swarm tour in Berlin, Germany. At this show, Gerard Way wore a yellow clown costume covered in brown grease, and a sheet of paper with the joke "What did one toilet say to the other?
