Percabeth Energy: True love, made for each other, perfection, flawless, wholesome, zero bad vibes (Note: I planned to leave this part empty, but changed my mind when I saw these two ships)

Julerose is like a star in the void. In a show full of weirdness, these two are proof that an unproblematic relationship trumps all! For that, I give them the honor of Percabeth energy.

Tom and Sabine are just straight Julerose with the added bonus that Tom kicked his racist dad to curb and never looked back. Of only Marinette never found that guy again.

Lumity Energy: Full love, realistic problems but like not in an abusive way, the only reason these ships aren't giving Percabeth is because the show ruined them, yes that is what I'm going with, No I don't think Lumity is bad the name is just a joke

Alya x Marinette is a goated ship, fight me! "bUt WhAt AbOuT lIlA", everyone is an idiot in those episodes! Forgot Lila and remember that Marinette and Alya have a very supportive relationship that's mutual. Although, I couldn't completely forget about Lila which is why it's down here.

Lukanette was robbed. Luka x Adrien was also robbed.

So I don't dislike the gay boys but that one time Nathaniel ripped Marc's sketchbook just sticks in my head even tho he said sorry. It's not even in character for Nathaniel to do that! Oof. Still goated in the sauce.

I used to hate Marichat but then it went on to become the best side of the love square because it got so little focus?! More is less, and Elation is better than three thirds of the love square episodes.

Marinette and Kagami used to be such a wholesome relationship but then season 5 kept dragging out Kagami's kiddie pool sized jealousy for bad Lila episodes. At least I can pretend they don't exist.

Nooro and his only friend in the world. And now they've been separated 😭

BMBLB Energy: Not half bad, just not for me, may or may not be canon/developed well, I'm not criticizing BLBMB its just a joke

Adrien x Juleka could be cute, but it's one of those things that you have to accept will never be canon or even get episodes for it.

All of the other Lovesquare ships got dropped down here because of Arc Fatigue. Ladrien didn't even get a kiss!

Marinette and Marc got better development in Reverser than Nathaniel and Marc did.

"Back in my day, we used to ship Marinette with Nathaniel!" "Sure grandpa, let's get you to bed."

Ivan and Mylene wishes they could be the straight version of Julerose. These two are just weirdly codependent to the point that Ivan's last focus episode was like... season 1?

Adrien/Chat Noir and Alya/Rena Rouge had more chemistry with each other in two episodes than Alya had with Nino in the last 5 years (Yall bout to be really mad at me)

Adrien x Nathaniel could be cute, but it's one of those things that you have to accept will never be canon or even get episodes for it. Huh, deja vu.

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Crocoduel"

Introduction

Hey there everyone, I'm back with another season 4 character analysis post and this time it's episode 12. If you missed my last post, you can find ithere. For the new people who want to read this first anyway, in this series I look at the emotions, behaviours and thought processes of the individual characters in every individual episode of the characterization-rich season that is season 4 to outline the progress these characters have made in this season as a whole.

So "Crocoduel", we not only get another new hero in the form of Purple Tigress who seems to be really popular in the fandom, but we also get a follow up from "Truth" on Marinette and Luka's break-up and how it has affected both of them. It also tackles the relationship between Anarka and Jagged. So yeah, this analysis is going to be interesting so let's get started.

Character POVs

Juleka

"Mom, Dad, I'm sorry but TALK IT OVER INSTEAD OF ARGUING!"

Obviously since this is Juleka's episode, we're going to start with her. LikeMyleneandRose, she also had a character arc in getting her Miraculous and for her it was learning to raise her voice and speak up about her feelings, something Luka can learn from his twin sister. Hey, I found something they have in common as siblings! Anyway, back to Juleka's character arc.

At the starting episode, we see Juleka afraid of speaking up and letting people know how she feels, being pretty submissive when Alya and the rest of Marinette's friends begged Juleka to let them have her birthday on her family's houseboat instead of going to the movies like they planned to get Marinette to confront Luka and being asked by Marinette to try to get Luka not to be at his house during their birthday party so that she won't have to confront him and due to being to submissive Juleka accepted Marinette's request as well and felt overwhelmed. Her submissiveness was also the reason she didn't stand up to her father when she heard that he was giving her brother a guitar and nothing to her and if it hadn't been for Marinette, she wouldn't have talked to him at all.

But her learning to speak up about her feelings actually happens when she meets her kwami, Roarr. Kwamis truly are the perfect therapists for their respective holders. Roarr encouraging Juleka to speak up is what gave her the strength to be vocal about her feelings when she became a superhero and after she helped Ladybug defeat her parents when she kinda settled their feud by raising her voice.

2.Marinette/Ladybug

"But it will be so awkward. You know that Luka's in love with me but I'm in love with Adrien and every time we see each other he just ends up getting hurt all over again 'cause he knows I'll never feel the same."

Moving on to the Marinette-Luka breakup aftermath, starting with Marinette's side of things. After breaking up with Luka in "Truth", Marinette became very awkward with Luka which led to her wanting to avoid him because she is ashamed of having to break up with him and doesn't want to have him getting hurt all over again just because she can't return his feelings towards her.

When she realizes that she has to come to Luka and Juleka's houseboat for their birthday party, she panics due to this fear which leads to her to asking Juleka to make sure Luka isn't at the party when she's coming there, unaware that this was overwhelming poor Juleka. When she did realize what she did hurt her and could have by extension hurt Luka, she felt remorse for her actions and apologized like she doesn't whenever she realizes that what she what she is doing is hurting someone and even stands up for her when it appears as though Jagged was showing favoritism towards Luka by giving him and guitar and nothing to Juleka.

By the end of the episode she admits her mistake and settles things with Luka, officially becoming buddies.

3.Luka

"You know, it hurts a lot more not seeing you that seeing you"

Now let's look at Luka's side of the conflict which people seem to understand more. After their breakup, when Marinette started avoiding him, Luka felt as if Marinette hated her when in reality she was only just afraid to hurt him. He knew she had a secret that she didn't want to share and was completely OK with that. When Marinette showed up and they settled things between them by finally communicating which honestly seems to be the theme of this season.

Luka also finally communicates his feelings to her by saying that it hurts a lot more for not seeing her than seeing her which is great development for him. Hey, what do you know? Both the Couffaine twins spoke up this episode: Juleka with the argument between their parents and Luka with how feels about Marinette avoiding her so good job on both of them.

4.Anarka

"Jagged Stone, you really are a shipwrecker. How dare you come here and give my son the album that caused our breakup!"

Now we're going to look at the Anaka-Jagged conflict which seems to be based on an album they made which supposedly caused their breakup. From what I'm gathering, from Anarka's POV it seems as though Jagged left their family when he realized they were having kids because he didn't think he would be a good enough dad and to Anarka it seems as though he left her for his music career to raise the kids all on her own and that has to be pretty rough, hence why she never wanted to talk about it with Luka or Juleka.

When Juleka raised her voice and told them to talk out their problems peacefully, they both agreed to do so for the sake of their kids.

5.Jagged

"Caused our breakup? You mean the album that helped me get my life back after you left me!"

From Jagged's side of the conflict we can see that he was concerned about not being a good-enough dad to their kids and Anarka, not understanding these concerns, left him with nothing but their album which was the one thing that managed to help him get his life back after he became all alone. His way of coping with a problem was to channel the emotions into a song similar to his son and when he found out how much he had in common with him, it gave him hope that he might be able to be a good dad after all.

He shows how much he cares about both his kids, although it didn't seem like he cared about Juleka at first, by giving Juleka the first guitar he ever owned and giving his son Luka the album that help him rise up again after he was left in the dumps by Anarka. By the end of the episode both Anarka and Jagged admitted their faults and apologized to each other when Juleka told them settle things peacefully.

Conclusion

Well, that's the end of the analysis. Gotta say it was a pretty fun one since we had two conflicts and one Miraculous hero introduction. Both the Couffaine twins learn to speak up about how they feel and Jagged and Anarka settle their long-time feud. Marinette's Calender - It has the whole class not just Adrien he just has the most activities and takes up the most space - Gets used against her by Lila and Alya

Kitty Section offers The Liberty as a safe place to hide

They find out most of what Marinette knows (Minus being Ladybug obviously) And supports her through and emotional break down.

And then plans (On their own because Marinette deserves to be taken care of) How to take down Lila, Alya and Adrien, who is unsupportive despite knowing Lila is a liar

Also a JuleRose, Myvan, and Lukanette triple date sounds cute

Lukanette is my favorite pairing for Miraculous Ladybug, so I love the choice there! This got...a little out of hand, so I couldn't fit everything in there, but I hope you like it!

Marinette was genuinely forgetful, and incredibly busy. The fact that she had a calendar with everyone’s events on it was a natural progression of that, since she would, actually, like to spend time with her friends on occasion. Adrien’s activities taking up such a large portion of the calendar was just because he had a lot of activities! But Alya…she’d taken a picture of it, and shared it with Lila, who in turn showed it to the rest of the class and twisted it into something creepy and stalkerish.

She was good at twisting things like that. One day full of side-eye from everyone except Juleka, Rose, Mylene, and Ivan and snide comments about being a stalker and Marinette was ready to cry-or scream. Fleeing to the park after school had been a thoughtless decision, brought about simply because she didn’t want to go home and have to look at that calendar quite yet. She collapsed under a tree and couldn’t help the silent tears that spilled over.

She knew she had to calm down. She knew. But Marinette couldn’t stop replaying the day over and over in her head, seeing Lila’s smug little smirk and Alya’s self-righteous look.

“Ma-Ma-Marinette,” Luka’s low voice greeted her playfully before he caught a good look at her face. “Hey.” He sat down beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her in for a hug. “It’ll be ok,” he murmured to her. “Whatever it is, I’ll make it ok.”

Marinette let out a wet laugh as she swiped at her cheeks half-heartedly. “I don’t think it will be,” she told him tiredly.

“Come to the Liberty,” Luka offered. “We’ll talk about it and make a plan.”

“You hate plans,” Marinette said, a small smile tugging at her lips. Luka was definitely more a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy.

“Yeah, but you don’t.” Luka’s gentle look somehow ripped Marinette apart and put her together again at the same time.

Marinette should have expected the ambush at the Liberty, but she wasn’t even mad about it. Juleka, Rose, Mylene, and Ivan dragging her (and Luka by way of proximity) into a group hug while telling her that they knew it wasn’t anything creepy was a balm to her battered emotion. The brief explanation about what happened during class had Luka’s eyebrow raising incredulously. “They’re stupid,” Juleka concluded darkly.

“I-you’re busy,” Luka said in disbelief. “How exactly do they expect you to keep track of all of the events they have-that they ask you to make stuff for and don’t pay you for-without having it on a calendar or something?”

“Your guess is as good as mine,” Marinette murmured. “But Lila’s a huge liar, so I’m not surprised she’s pulling something like this.”

“You’ve said that before,” Mylene said slowly, her voice soft and considering. “What do you mean?”

Marinette hesitated for a moment, but told them all, “I don’t know if you know this, but I got Alya that first interview with Ladybug.” Rose let out a soft noise of realization. “So she and I have…a professional relationship, I guess. So I know for a fact that Lila isn’t her ‘best friend’. And Jagged Stone doesn’t have a kitten, he has Fang-his crocodile.” She sighed. “I just…I can’t stand liars. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so harsh with her, but it just really bothers me. And then this.”

“I asked Prince Ali about the charity she said she worked on with him,” Rose said after a moment. “He said he didn’t know what I was talking about-Lila said it was very confidential, and that’s why he couldn’t say anything but…that didn’t make a lot of sense to me,” she admitted. “I’m sorry Marinette, I should have stood up for you today!”

“No,” Marinette said immediately. “No, I wouldn’t want you to do that. It’s better that she’s just focused on me.”

Ivan was not someone who spoke often, but when he did it made an impact. So when he told Marinette, “It’s not your responsibility to protect us-we care about you, and you deserve to be protected too,” she paused to let it sink in.

And then Marinette promptly burst into tears.

Class Trip Gone...Right?

Lila salt, bustier salt, Lila exposed, kinda class sugar, avengers

No one POV

Lila’s lies have officially infiltrated the class. Marinette had been kicked out of her position as a class rep and replaced by Lila. The only ones who stuck by Mari were; Alya, Nino, Juleka, Rose, and Adrien. Kagami and Luka were also on Mari's side but were out of the country for the summer(Kagami at japan for a family event and Luka was traveling with Jagged as his apprentice). The others never bullied Marinette per se but just ignored them and sometimes made comments about her and her friends.

Mari POV

I missed my friends but without my class rep duties, I had more time to design. Our summer trip was coming up and I wasn't sure what we were doing, especially since Lila spent months lying to the class about knowing the avengers. A couple of months ago, I heard about a writing competition that Stark industries were holding. The winner got an all-expense paid trip for their whole class to New York. Of course, this was all before I was fired as the class representative. “ Now as you all know, next week is our summer field trip and we will be going to New York” Miss Bustier interrupted my thoughts. Miss Bustier used to be my favorite teacher until I finally understood the difference between nice and good. “ one person in our class won a competition hosted by Tony Stark himself, we will be given an all-expense paid trip to new york as well and a tour of Stark industries and the Avengers tower”. My jaw dropped. “I won” I whispered too low for anyone to hear.

Lila POV

The Avengers huh? “I did it, I won” I stated and the sheep all praised me. “ yes I wanted us all to meet uncle Tony and the other Avengers, So i called them and got them to give us this trip,” I said in my most innocent voice . They all fell for it. I saw maribrat and her loser friends roll their eyes and the class glared at them for hurting poor, innocent; Lila. “ well thank you, Lila, I think this will be a most amazing vacation” Bustier praised. Getting Bustier as my teacher was a stroke of luck. She never stopped me from telling my tales and even punished anyone who tried to expose me. It was perfect. As long as buster and Damocles don’t do their jobs and keep my little “lying disease” a secret, I’m golden. All year since I became a class rep, all our fundraisers fell flat and we never met our goal, so this was a lucky break. I just had so many charities and fancy events to go to that the class tried to take over for me but they were terrible, Honestly I thought being class rep meant I was finally queen but it’s much harder than I thought. But no problem, next year when elections are due again, I’ll just break out the crocodile tears and convince someone else to take my place.

Bustier POV This trip will be so much fun. To be honest, since Lila became a class rep, I was afraid that her disabilities and illnesses would hinder her but the class come together to help her, well all except Marinette and her friends. Ever since Lila came into the class, Marinette has been a terrible example for the class. I am so disappointed in her. I do hope that this trip will give everyone a chance to reconcile, maybe a change of scenery will help end all this drama. While to rest of the class was talking about the trip and getting excited at the chance to meet the Avengers, I was daydreaming about being swept off my feet by Thor or Steve Rogers.

No one POV

The bell rang and everyone left for the weekend. “Remember class, we leave for new york early Monday morning,” Bustier told the class. As the students left Marinetts friends couldn’t help but worry that Lila would ruin the trip for them but decided to not let Rossi's lies disrupt their vacation. “The Avengers surely won’t let Lila get away with her lies would they, I mean they won’t be fooled right?” asked Rose worried “of course not” reassured Alya “let's just ignore her and do our best to enjoy ourselves” “definitely dudette” agreed Nino. As the students packed and planned, Lila schemed. She hoped that the Avengers would be nice enough to just let her lie but she knew better. She would be careful and lie only out of earshot and only tell tales of other celebrities. If she played her cards right she might even be able to charm her way into a job at Stark Industries.

Marinette POV

Monday came and the class was getting ready to hop on a plane to new york. Lila wasted no time spinning her stories, how she helped the Avengers and that Thor himself begged her to go to Asgard with him and he and Tony considered Lila to be family. The sheep fawned over her. I and my friends did my best to ignore her but her screeching voice gave me a headache.” So are you not mad that Lila took credit for your submission dudette?” asked Nino “not really, I just want to relax and enjoy our vacation” I replied. “ at least after next week, we can get away from the drama” juleka whispered trying to see the best of our situation. As we were boarding, Lila just had to start with the poor flight attendant. “I need a first-class seat, my tinnitus is so bad from saving Jaggeds cat that any other seat will make my ear hurt so bad” Lila whined. The flight attendant didn’t believe her and tried to explain the plane was fully booked. Lila cried her crocodile tears. In the end, we almost missed our flight and Bustier promised to file a complaint and let Lila take her seat that was closer to the front of the plane. The flight was long but after hours of Lila’s lies, we made it to New York City.

Lila’s POV

We were met with two interns for Stark industries, whose names I didn't care to remember(Ned and MJ). We were escorted to two shuttles that were to be our rides for the remainder of our trip. I tried to woo the interns by promising to talk to “uncle Tony” about giving them permanent jobs but they just smiled and ignored me. Rude, do they not know who I am? We eventually made it to the Stark tower and were told the rules of our trip.

Marinette POV

We were told that we had a few rules, we had to follow, such as; Staying in a group, listening to the interns, and don’t go anywhere without permission. We were given level 2 passes, the same as the interns, giving us access to basic areas of the facility. We walked around for a bit and were greeted by the other Avengers. Miss Bustier tried, key word tried, to flirt with Steve Rogers(who looked quite uncomfortable) instead of paying attention to her students. Ladybug luck hasn’t been much help lately with Lila but I hoped that would change soon. “Do you think anything out of lier-la’s mouth is even half true, ever,” joked Adrien, we all laughed. “So do you think Tony Stark could talk to us about our idea for energy efficiency: asked Iven. I didn’t know if Stark heard but if he did, He didn’t let it show. “ of course, I told you I'd talk to him for you” replied Lila in a surprisingly quiet tone. Lila kept on her tales for a while, completely ignoring Ned and MJ who were trying to show us around Stark tower. MJ eventually called her out and told her to pay attention. Lila cried her fake tears and Kim and Alix yelled at her to stop being rude. Bustier(ever the attentive teacher) stepped in and told Ned and MJ to be nice and that being rude is not the way to get someone to listen. Ned rolled his eyes and just kept going with the tour. Everyone in the tower tried to ignore Lila but the final nail in the coffin was when Lila said something along the lines of "Tony and the other Avengers loves me and even asked to join but had to turn them down because of my disabilities". Finally, Pepper Potts overheard and stormed right over. "enough of the lies, I don't want to get lawyers involved since you are just a child but one more word about the Avengers and I will not hesitate to sue you" Pepper demanded. I couldn't believe my ears. This is so great.

No one POV

Lila tried to cry, hoping to gain sympathy and maybe get the Avengers to play nice to spare her feelings but to no avail. They all glared at her. Kim tried to defend the liar and intimidate Pepper into taking back what she said but she refused to back down and even threatened to send him right back to Paris. He backed down right away. Bustier came and tried to calm the situation down but also shut up when faced with a complaint being filed about her "lack of control of her students" to the french school board. In the end, Lila was sent back to Paris and there was an investigation began about bustier and Damocles covering up Lila's stories. The rest of the trip was a success and the class apologized to Marinette and the others and they forgave them.

What's up, guys? It's ya girl, Weeby, with a new project! If you remember the 'Title Sequence' that Sparky did for Creepsters, I'm doing those for our other AUs! Here's the first up, Class of Villainy! Enjoy! @imsparky2002 @artzychic27

(Instrumental of 'Ways to be Wicked' begins to play. The camera does a wide sweep over the dark skyline of Paris, before entering the doors of a Parisian fashion house. All of the mannequins are dressed in the furs of different animals.)

Here is a little one shot i just finished writing while on the train!!!! (There might be some grammar error or misspell since I wrote on my phone)

Chloe opened the door of her classroom with a yawm.

Maybe spending the night playing pokemon had been a bad idea but she had bet with juleka that she would have a complete shiny living dex before the end of the year, and she WILL win this, the reward was just too good to fail.

And sleep is for the weak anyway, so Chloe slowly walked toward her seat and as soon as she was sat she took out her nintendo from her purse and started playing again before class started.

Sabrina gave a curious look so Chloe nodded her head toward Juleka, who was chatting with Rose and Ivan at her desk at the end of the room, while restarted the fight against against oh-oh for the 3 thousand two hundred seventeenth times, yes she is keeping count, also yes finding shiny legendaries is ridiculously hard.

The redhead nodded in understanding and started to watch her friends fail again and again to find a digital animal with a slightly different color with an amused smile.

"What's the bat and the reward this time?" Sabrina asked.

Chloe restarted the fight again while answering," have a shiny living dex before the end of the year, as for the reward it's a week long sleepover/date at the liberty" chloe's voice got more excited on the last part.

Sabrina tilted her head in confusion, "Don't you live there already basically?"

Chloe pouted, " yes, but every two or three days I have to go back and sleep at the hotel otherwise daddy would get worried"

Sabrina laughed," like you actually sleep, i a.pretty sure you have sugar and coffe instead of blood now"

Chloe laughed too.

Ms. Bustier arrived and a moment later dupain-cheng and class started, Chloe managed to play pokemon even during class but got caught when she finally catched the shiny bird and cheered loudly.

That's why she is now alone in the classroom, she got detention, she could have avoided it but was in a good mood and arguing with her ridiculous teacher would have spoiler it, but it was worth it and she saved the game before bustier took her console.

Chloe heard footsteps and the door opening, revealing her girlfriend.

She immediatelly jumped to her feet and rushed to her.

"JUJU!!!" She cheered right before hugging her.

"Chlobear" juleka laughed as she hugs her princess back, "what got you so excited in class?" She asked while starting to run her finger in the golden hair of the shorter girl, caressing them and her head.

Chloe delighted by the touch smiled even more rubbing her head a little against the goth's chest and a happy squeal escaped from her throat.

"I found a shiny oh ho!!!!! I am on my way to victory now" she said triomphaly.

Juleka chuckled softly, it was quiet and easy to miss but chloe loved it more than her own life.

"Yes you are chlobear" she said gently with a little smile before walking toward a desk amd sat down, it was a little hard walking with chloe clued to her and demanding her all of her attention, like the excited and spoiled puppy she was, but she as long since mastered that skill.

So now that juleka sat chloe made sure to snuggle herself on her legs, back agaisnt her chest while she tried to look up at her and rest head on her shoulder.

Juleka chuckled again and petted her girl.

"You are a good girl" juleka whispered softly to her ears before kissing her head.

Chloe could feel herself melt at this word and just smiled happily in her girlfreinds arms, too tired and content to do anything but enjoy the attention.

"You are the best girl, chlobear" juleka said again and this time kissed her just next to the lips making chloe whine a little.

She laughed softly again and then kissed her lips while whispering

"I love you".

Class sugar and Lila salt prompt! One of the classmates becomes their inner wereanimal (painful transformation, non-feral mindset). Lila sees it and lies to everyone that the monster (the transformed classmate) is a danger and must be put down. But the class would rather try to save the person instead (much to Lila’s frustration). Obviously, the classmate is cured and Lila is exposed.

Disclaimer: I don't hate any MLB characters, salt drama is just funny, and I want to get my writing enthusiasm back. Don't like, don't read. And any hate comments that are not constructive criticism will be laughed at and then ignored so don't waste your own time.

Title: 'Were' the Lies were Exposed

Nobody was quite sure what had happened. One moment they were walking down the street as a class, intent on going to the park to surprise Marinette with a party for her latest third place victory in a local fashion contest(against much older and more experienced designers mind you), but also as a ‘Thank You’ for all the hard work she did daily for their class, the next Marinette was shoving Juleka out of the way, getting an akuma absorbed into the pen she had tucked into her ear.

The akuma’s energy bubbled and oozed while Marinette fought, trying desperately to fight the akuma’s hold, but Hawkmoth must have done something to it because she just couldn’t shake its effects completely. The one thing she was thankful for was that she seemed to be keeping her head, and was very much in control of her thoughts and actions. Her bones started popping, and an animalistic whine escaped her throat, her limbs twisting to accommodate the akumatized form while soft fur sprouted across her body. Marinette choked on painful whines as the transformation finally stopped.

The class gaped at their class president’s new form. She was much taller now, matching Ivan’s height, her legs bent like that of an animal’s haunches, with sharp clawed feet and hands. Her face and head were animalistic tiger-like, like the third or fourth picture of an Animorph book cover. Fur took up where had once been skin, but not the usual orange or white fur on a natural tiger, her fur was ladybug red, and the stripes that cascaded down her body we a blue hued black, with dashes of white around her muzzle, chest, and chin. Most noticeable was the now bushy red and blue-black striped tail that sprouted from her tail bone, and her human ears that were larger and rounded, with noticeable white spots on the back.

Marinette opened her mouth to speak, but all that came out was a gargled half growl sound that caused her friends to jump in fright, with her softer classmates taking a few steps away. Hurt flared in Marinette’s chest before she remembered the predicament she was in. Her head bowed, ears twitching like they wanted to fold back while her tail drooped.

“M-Marinette?” Juleka stuttered, trying to gauge if her akumatized friend, and savior, was a threat or not. Whiskered twitching, Marinette turned towards her, blinking slit pupiled yellow eyes at her.

“Girl you in there?” Alya asked, stepping towards her friend and grabbing her claw-hand. In place of a purr, Marinette let out an odd cuff sound, her tail twitching happily. Alya grinned at her. “No way! Hawkmoth transformed you but don’t seem to be under his control at all! I knew my best friend was badass but dang!” She reached up to pet her friend's new furry head, getting a pleased cuff sound in return.

That seemed to break the tension as the class then relaxed, Juleka was quick to hug Marinette, stammering ‘thank you’s and ‘I’m sorry’s. Alix and Nathan were taking selfies with their akumatized friend, her cuffing fondly at them and played along. Mylene was tentatively running her hand over her tail, amazed by the softness, while her boyfriend and Kim were comparing her new height, Kim in particular wanted an arm wrestle seeing as Marinette seemed to get some extra muscle. Nino was quickly writing a new script while Adrien’s back acted as his table, the DJ/Movie Director hopeful getting a flash of inspiration and Adrien not minding since no one was in immediate danger.

“Are you crazy!” Lila simpered, drawing the class attention to herself. “Marinette just turned into a beast! We need to call Animal control!”

“Girl, it's fine.” Alya sighed. “We just have to find Ladybug or Chat Noir so they can dispel the Akuma.”

“How are you so sure she's an akuma?” Lila balled her hands into fists. “Ladybug told me that there was no way a person could shake off an akuma, much less transform but not be under Hawkmoth’s control! As her /best friend/ she tells me everything!”

“We saw the akuma, Lila.” Juleka said softly, glaring at the italian, whom she blamed for the situation. She was the one who upset Juleka in the first place, if Lila hadn't said that Marinette would have won if she had a professional model(ie not Juleka like she had) then the shy model to-be wouldn't have gotten upset enough to summon an Akuma.

“Well she maybe just hasn’t met someone strong enough to do it then.” Adrien chimed in. “I mean, Ladybug is human, she doesn’t know everything about everything, and its wrong to assume she does.”

“Or Marinette just isn’t human.” Lila huffed in frustration.

Alix laughed. “You can’t honestly believe Marinette has been an actual weretiger this whole time and exposed herself to fight an akuma.”

Lila glared at the girl. “Its possible!” She screeched. “Which is why we have to call animal control to come put her down or something!”

“That isn’t funny Lila.” Mylene chided.

“I’m not joking! She’s a danger to all of us!” Lila huffed and grabbed her phone, but Nathan swiped it from her hands before she could dial a single number. “Give me my phone back!”

“No.” Nathan shook his head, handing the phone to Alix to keep safe.

“Sorry to interrupt.” A tiny voice squeaked, drawing everyone’s attention upwards, where a small floating bug kwami floated. “Ladybug is in a every important exam, and since this young lady isn’t a danger she send me out to dispose of the akuma. So if one of you could break that pen.”

“On it!” Kim said, recovering the fastest from seeing Ladybug’s kwami. He snatched the pen from Marinette’s ear and snapped over his knee, wincing at the sharp glare he got from the tiger turned girl. “I will buy you a new one.” He promised.

As Marinette turned back, the transformation just as painful as before, Alya and Juleka pressed against her in comfort, the rest of the class watched at the kwami gulped up the akuma, spitting out a purified one that fluttered away with ease.

“This had been bothering me for a while,” Alix chimed, grabbing the kwami’s attention before she could fly back to Ladybug. “Is Ladybug friends with any civilians.” The pink haired girl glanced at Lila, who stopped stewing in her anger long enough to panic.

A very serious face befell the kwami. “No. Understand that Ladybug befriending a civilian, even privately, is extremely dangerous. It puts them, and herself in grave danger. Even in her private life shes extremely careful with who she befriends. If you know someone saying they are friends with her, please stop them. It’s a lie and it can cause them great harm.” She advised before flying away.

“I wonder what else Lila has been lying about.” Adrien prodded, and the class turned to the Italian, but she had booked it down the street during the kwami’s speech and was nowhere to be seen.

Alya sighed. “We’ll deel her her later. Right now lets go to the party we set up for my best friend!” She smiled at Marinette, who smiled back with a small wince.

“Can we get an Ice pack on the way?” She asked carefully. “Everything hurts.” She admitted, pulling a few laughs from her friends. “I am not kidding.”

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Guiltrip"

Introduction

Hey, guys and welcome to another season 4 character analysis post. If you missed my last post, you can find ithere. For those of you who are new to this series, here I basically look that journeys of all the characters of MLB in every individual episode of season 4 in order to help people attain a better understanding of these characters and learn to appreciate them more.

This episode was another one where we were introduced to a new Miraculous: the pig which grants the power to show a person their greatest desire. According to the release of the episodes, this was the first episode we saw where someone new gets a Miraculous. I really enjoyed this episode for the focus it had on Rose and Juleka and the way it shows the different ways Marinette and Adrien approach a problem, speaking of which let's get into the character POVs.

Character POVs

Rose

"No, I must not think like that. Yes, I'm glad I did 'cause that's what made us closer and stronger."

Of course we're gonna start with her since this episode was basically Rose's chance to shine. Like "Mega Leech", this episode also gave us a great message about thinking positive which is honestly something the fandom could learn from Rose. It was her positive mental attitude that saved the day for this episode and that compliments well with Miraculous Ladybug being a show about emotions.

We see here that Rose trusts Juleka more than anyone and is very forgiving of her when Juleka revealed that she told everyone about her illness. She even when after her when she got akumatized, putting her life in danger just for her friend (girlfriend?) despite Ladybug and Cat Noir telling her it was too dangerous and her positive mental attitude allows her to not be affected by Guiltrip which is what Ladybug sees in her to make her worthy of the Miraculous of the pig. Overall, great show of positivity from Rose, Juleka is lucky to have her and she truly is worthy of her Miraculous.

2.Juleka

"The first to plead guilty is me."

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Juleka, whose negativity and guilt of her wrongdoing allowed her to be vulnerable to akumatization and turned her into a version of Reflekta with a sentimonster named Guiltrip which sucks people in and makes them feel guilty of all the things they feel guilty about deep down or of anything bad that happened in general once you lose your positive attitude.

When she found out that her closest friend (girlfriend?) was actually discovered to have an illness which gives her headaches and bouts of vomiting which can come back at any time and got her hospitalized temporarily, she was devastated and when everyone surrounded her and asked about what was wrong in worry of her, she felt overwhelmed and forced to tell. When everyone started giving Rose special treatment when she returned to school, she felt extremely guilty of what she did and confessed to Rose.

And when people continued to give her special treatment after that, Juleka still felt guilty which caused her to get akumatized and send herself into her own sentimonster which was meant for her victims which really shows how guilty she really feels. In the end, she got what she wanted and got a happy ending.

3.Marinette/Ladybug

"Cat Noir, you can do this! You have to think positive. You're the greatest partner anyone could have! (Ladybug, do you really mean that?) Yes, I probably don't tell you this enough but I couldn't do this without you."

Another show of how much Cat Noir means to Ladybug, her telling Cat Noir that he's the greatest partner anyone could have and that he couldn't do it without him similar to what she said in the New York Special except with a much more sadder tone and we also see how the absence of Cat Noir affects her detrimentally in future episodes.

Besides that we also have the contrast between her and Adrien on solving a problem, sympathy vs empathy. Sympathy means that you can put yourself in a person's position and think about how you would feel in their situation and what you would want and behaving with them accordingly. When Marinette sees that Juleka is sad, she immediately jumps into problem-solver mode and tries to brainstorm an idea to cheer her up because she would never want to be sad and she thought of messaging everyone in her class to help her because as we've see in "Gang of Secrets" that's what she would want if she had a secret that was a huge burden on her since telling Alya helped with her problems a lot.

4.Adrien/Cat Noir

"Juleka, is everything OK?"

Now let's look at Adrien's approach to solving a problem which is what seemed to be working in this situation, the empathy side. Empathy means understanding how another person might feel based on their personality and what they as an individual would want to make them feel better and Adrien as a really nice guy is good at that.

When he saw that Juleka was sad, she took the time to listen to what she had to say and try to figure out what she wants rather than apply what he would want in the situation. He knew that Marinette would never say anything to hurt Juleka and he knew that something else might have made Juleka feel sad. This is yet another way Marinette and Adrien are yin and yang for each other and in this case it's sympathy vs empathy, being able to regulate one's own emotions vs being able to regulate others' emotions, logical vs emotional, etc.

Conclusion

That's the end of this episode's character analysis and this was a really interesting one since we had more character to analyze this time: the hero of the episode, the villain of the episode and the main two. Another random thought: Sparky and I have done a few of these, but I would love to see your take on the VK/AK kids meeting the Class of Heroes/Villainy gang, who are essentially alternate versions of their parents.

Making Amends - Fantasy - Prompt 16, Chapter 9

Summary: For Felix Month 2021 - beware, the chapters are not in chronological order^^

When Felix loses a bet with his cousin, he has to make amends with Adrien’s friends. Well, at least this provides a good excuse to spent a lot of time with Adrien’s “very good friend”, a certain designer, who may or may not be described as tolerable … or cute. This may not be so bad. Yeah, not bad at all.

"Don't worry, dude. Everything's chill between us. We both think - Ah, I mean, Felix and I are bros now. I mean, you're still my best bro, but you know. You get it, right?" Nino's rambling was almost as bad as Marinette's when she was nervous. At least that was Felix's opinion.

"That's great! I'm so glad you two get along!" was Adrien's reaction. He didn't even seem to notice that he barely escaped a word vomit. Instead, he gave his cousin a proud approving smile. Felix loved his cousin, he really did, but he would prefer him not to give him the look a pet owner gave their puppy for not shitting on the carpet.

That had been right after he made amends with the DJ. And as nice as it was to get along with Nino, simply by the law of the enemy of my enemy, he still had a long way to go. He knew that. He just had no idea how to continue.

“Well, your little stunt got Alya, Juleka, and Rosé akumatized. You already did something for Alya, which by the way is another stunt I will get both of you back for. As soon as I have more time,” Marinette declared, threateningly brandishing one of her colouring pencils like a sword. A very short cyan-blue sword. “But anyway, I’d advise you to continue with them. Although it probably doesn’t matter which one goes first. Rosé would probably be a bit more open, but I guess Juleka would be easier on you.”

“Rosé is the bubbly pink … girl? And Juleka is her goth friend?” he asked as he continued to note down what materials Marinette already had and how much. He barely stopped himself from using any derogatory term for the small blond and very, very pink classmate. The girl had too much energy, always talking and gesticulating. Her voice was so high and she was talking practically all the time and just everything about her was so … so … very not English. There was no better way to describe her.

Yeah, choosing her as his next target would not go well.

“So, Juleka it is,” he announced and turned to his friend. Since the theme for the silent auction was decided and Marinette said, she was fine with designing the costumes for everyone - fine his ass, he didn’t want her to do it, but nobody even took a second to listen to his very relatable concerns … -, she had been designing almost non-stop. And right now she just hummed as she added some accents to Max’s futuristic dolphin suit.

“I said,” Felix tried again leaning slightly over her, blocking the light, “I’ll continue with Juleka.”

“I heard you the first time and Felix, I swear to whatever unholy deity is willing to listen, probably Plagg, Trixx or Xuppu-”

“Not unholy,” the monkey kwami interjected. He sat on one of the ceiling beams and was doodling a few of his former holders’ transformations. Most of the kwamis had been very excited about the theme. Just Kaalki sat on Marinette’s bed, eating sugar cubes, watching interviews with celebrities and was all around sulking. And making nasty remarks about the dolphin kwami going by the name of Flipp.

“- if you don’t step out of my light, I will tie you up, throw you over my shoulder like one of our bags of flour, climb up onto my balcony and let you dangle there as if our house is a donkey and you’re the carrot. And don’t think I wouldn’t do that.”

On one hand, Felix knew it was a serious threat. On the other the mental image alone almost had him daring her to do as she said. But hanging from her balcony he wouldn’t get anything done and in the end, she would only regret what she said, since she just had a very short temper while designing. And he knew that. So, he stepped back and she turned back to her sketch with a slight huff, but he caught the little smile she unsuccessfully tried to hide.

“Fine. But, please, just tell me what I should do for Juleka,” he complained as he turned back to her materials.

“What makes you think I know?”

The blond snorted at that. “Of course you do! She’s your friend and you’re a bit scary with how much you know about your friends.” It was true. Marinette knew a lot about her friends. She even wrote their events down in her planner and now that he was in charge of her schedule she had him memorise those events as well so if he planned possible events that not only included both of them but also other classmates, nothing would coincide. But that wasn't a half-bad idea! Quickly he pulled out his phone to check his calendar app for any events Juleka had going on.

“You mean, like how I know that you’re hungry but won’t ask for the pain au chocolat with the dark chocolate Papa made especially for you, because you want to eat it with your five o’clock tea later and won’t allow your stomach to dictate when you eat something?” Felix looked up from his phone and stared at the girl. She just shrugged. “You have checked the time at least five times in the last half hour and that’s only what I have witnessed,” she explained. “Plus, I could almost see the saliva run down your chin when Papa told you about your favourite pastry.”

Felix audibly clapped the cover of his smartphone case shut and put his phone away. She was correct, of course, but he felt petty and unwilling to give her this win. “Just so you know, pain au chocolat is not my favourite. I like the mocha macarons better.”

“Oh? That’s good to hear, then I’ll give the pain au chocolat to Adrien tomorrow.”

Felix hissed at that. “Over my cold dead body!” he growled quite irritated but he instantly felt a bit soothed when he heard Marinette’s soft giggles. Of course, she wouldn’t do that. He knew that, but still, he was a bit miffed at the thought she might give something to someone else that was meant for him. Whether it be a pastry or his place in her life.

“Actually, this is just more proof, that you definitely know what I should do for your friend,” he tried to get back to the original topic. Marinette just hummed noncommittally. “Please, Marinette? You know, I need your help to do this making-amends-stuff. And it’s also a bit your fault I’m in this predicament.”

“Okay, first off: I did not tell you to make that stupid bet. That’s on you. You made a mistake and I hope you learned from it and it better not be to make sure that the odds are even more in your favour the next time-”

“Was there any other lesson to learn from that?”

Marinette heavily breathed through her nose when he interrupted her, so he decided to not add anything and to just let her say her part for now.

“Anyway, what I wanted to say is, that a part of this making-amends-stuff, as you called it, is that it should show that you are trying to be a better person. I will help you at some point, but first, you will have to put in some work. This is more than some homework you can finish and not think about again. Try to find out what Juleka’s fantasy is and what you could do to make her happy. Happy and grateful enough so she might accept that the bad behaviour from your last visit is not who you are.”

Having said what she wanted to say, Marinette turned back to her sketch and narrowed her eyes as she critically looked it over. She was done with their discussion.

Talking to Juleka turned out harder than he thought. He tried to start a conversation but she just mumbled something unintelligible and hid behind her hair. And Marinette just gave him an amused grin and a slightly raised eyebrow, letting him know that she still expected him to make an effort to find out what Juleka would like himself. Maybe he should pay for a few lessons of confidence training? She could definitely use it!

At the end of their lunch break, he still hadn’t made any progress and he was ready to ask Adrien to give him another punishment. He would get nowhere like this.

“You could use some help, am I right?” he heard a high voice ask and turned to the source. The pink flower girl, Rosé, stood there and gave him a small smile. The kind of smile someone gave out of embarrassment when they weren’t sure whether to smile or even say something.

“Yes, I could use some help, but Marinette has this idea that I have to put in the effort before she considers helping me.” He sighed and pulled an overly dramatic grimace. “Why is she one of my favourite people again?”

Rosé giggled and relaxed her posture slightly. “Probably because she sent me a message last night. Hey, Rosé, tomorrow Felix will try to find out what he could do for Juleka to make amends with her. I want him to try on his own at first, but if he hasn’t been successful when lunch is over, could you help him? He’s not a bad person, I promise. If you can’t trust him, trust me with this. Have a good night, see you tomorrow, Mari,” she read the message and looked back up. “Well, you don’t look like you had any success, so here I am. Also, you’re stressing out Juls with your attempts to approach her. Maybe we could meet at the library after school and brainstorm an idea?”

“That should be possible. I’ll just inform Marinette that I’ll come over later than planned. She��ll probably design first anyway and we can finish homework later.”

Rosé smiled and nodded. “Okay, see you then, Felix,” she bid goodbye and returned to her friend group. Finally a silver lining! And in the end, Marinette had helped him anyway, even if it was indirect. It was actually scarily smart. Before now he had thought Rosé was annoying, but now that he had talked to her, she didn’t seem that bad. Quirky and excitable maybe and if he had to spend long periods of time with her she would certainly be unbearably annoying after a while, but she seemed to be alright if he only had to interact with her for a limited amount of time. He wouldn’t have known that if Marinette hadn’t sent her his way.

Felix grabbed his bag and went to find his friend to tell her: Well played!

"Do you really think a new instrument is the best we can come up with?" Felix frowned as he looked at the list of ideas Rosé and he had come up with. He learned that Juleka liked music and played several instruments like everyone else in her family, although she preferred the bass guitar. She liked make-up and styling and had dyed her hair in different colours in the past.

"I guess it's the best thing that's possible and not just some fantasy," Rosé answered doodling a little cute kitty next to the list of ideas. "A fantasy?" What did she mean by that? In a city that got attacked by a magical supervillain and his butterflies almost daily - and got saved by two teenagers with magical jewellery just as often - he would think anything fantastical wouldn't seem quite as out of reach. "You know, if you have another idea, just say it. Even if you don't think there's anything I can do. Maybe we can think of something that's close enough or I can make sure to at least turn a part of this fantasy into reality," he offered after he had a few moments to think about it.

"Are you sure?"

Felix gave her a small self-assured grin. "I better be!"

Rosé giggled at that and began to tell him about the curse her girlfriend only recently broke.

“What do you say?” It was a bit later in the afternoon and Felix had just told Marinette about the idea Rosé and he had come up with. “That should be possible, right?”

Marinette sat at her desk but turned to face him. She fiddled around with some ballpoint pen, rolling it thoughtfully between her thumb and her index finger.

“Maybe,” she finally answered, “but the last time Juleka tried to model for me, she got very nervous. Alya was a bit pushy because she convinced Adrien to help out as well and that’s why we had a time limit. In the end, I was pushed to model with him and Juleka got akumatized. Do you have any plan for what to do if Juleka gets anxious again?”

“Well, not inviting these two might be a good start for now.” He didn’t intend to have them there, but this just confirmed his thoughts on the matter. “I could also take the shots myself. I have some experience behind a camera and I imagine having a professional photographer there would mean more stress to her. I could even try to not be seen by her.”

“You mean, you would hide in the bushes and on trees?” Marinette asked slowly. She gave him a look as flat as a sheet of paper. And to be honest, hearing it like this, it sounded … weird in the best case.

“No, I think I better not do that.”

“No,” Marinette agreed sagely, “you better not.”

Felix wasn’t sure how he thought Juleka would react, but he didn’t expect her to look like a cornered little bunny.

“You- you want me to model some of Marinette’s designs? Don’t you remember, what happened last time?”

“Oh Juls,” Rosé whispered and hugged her friend. “That’s exactly why we want to have a do-over! Don’t let that one bad memory stop you from doing something you really want to do!”

“We hope to create a less stressful situation this time,” Felix offered. “It would be just you, Rosé, Marinette, and I. I will also shoot the photos. So, there will only be people you have at least talked to already. This could be the foundation of a portfolio if you want to do more modelling gigs. Also …” Felix looked around and after not seeing the lying girl anywhere near them, he leaned a bit in and lowered his voice, “considering other people who confidently model and who have less than half as much reason to be as confident in their looks as you should be, you really should do this. Always remember: If you would like to do something but you wonder if you are qualified enough, rest assured that there is at least one unqualified person who does exactly this.”

Juleka still looked a bit hesitant, but finally, she nodded.

Felix should have known. Of course, it would have just been too easy, if they could just get to the location and take the photos.

Some students from her brother’s school recognised Juleka and immediately crowded around her. Rosé was so excited for her friend, she told them about the photoshoot and they asked if they could stay. They wanted to help and watch.

After all this excitement Juleka’s confidence took a nose-dive. She was nervous and stiff and looked like she was forced to do this at gunpoint. Felix only took half a dozen pictures before he decided this didn’t make any sense.

“The only fantasy I see in these pictures is her fantasy of running away and hiding,” Felix whispered as he stood next to Marinette and showed her the pictures. His friend gave them a critical look, but finally, she sighed and gave him the camera back.

“Well, at least they seem to be genuinely supportive. That’s not the worst-case scenario. But maybe we should still reschedule?”

Felix shook his head. “We won’t have enough time if we don’t get the pictures by the end of the week.”

Marinette frowned at him. “Why the time limit?” she wanted to know. Felix hadn’t told her, but he had sort of planned another surprise for Juleka, but he hadn’t told anyone. He didn’t want to put more pressure on Juleka or disappoint any hopes he might spark, should it not work out as he planned. But maybe he should tell Marinette now?

“The modelling agency you work with has a youth program and I know someone working there because he used to work for my acting agency. I showed him the class photo and he agreed to take a look at Juleka’s portfolio. And if he could get the portfolio by the end of the week, he might be able to get Juleka into their summer program. This would-”

“Felix, I have to interrupt you.”

Marinette cut him off with a raised hand and a pensive expression. “We don’t even know if Juleka would want this. I agree, it’s an amazing opportunity and Juleka deserves this chance. I appreciate how much thought and work you put into this and I’m sure Juleka would, too.”

“But-?”

Marinette’s lips twitched into a tiny smile. “Still,” she continued, emphasising the word to point out that she was not using a but, “I think you should talk to her before you show the pictures to anyone else. She’s surrounded by people who support her and she is this anxious. Could you imagine how violated she might feel if she learns afterwards that some stranger saw the photos without her consent?”

Felix couldn’t precisely understand why Juleka might be hurt. He was usually ecstatic when he learned people saw his work. But Marinette knew the girl better. Maybe she really wouldn’t want that. The boy decided he should talk to Juleka first, but when he looked around he couldn’t see her anywhere.

“Mari.”

“Give me a moment, I’m texting Luka. I’m sure he can calm her down.”

“Amazing idea. Maybe he can also tell us where she likes to hide?”

The young designer looked up and let her gaze wander over everyone present as well. She couldn’t find her friend but only a moment later they both noticed something else. “Merde!”

“With baked beans on toast,” Felix added with a nod. “Alright, you find a place for your glam up and I try to find our model before Mothbreath does.” With this Felix followed the little black butterfly. It was surprising enough that nobody else seemed to notice the akuma. Rosé talked to those other students about the band she and Juleka played in. If he had to guess, he would say she tried to keep their attention from her friend. Only, Rosé did it too well, so she didn’t notice anyone leaving.

Felix followed one of the paths for a bit until he found a hair clip near the edge of the grass. It was black and pretty simplistic, but he was sure he had watched earlier as Rosé used this clip to keep Julekas hair out of her face.

He looked around and noticed that there was a shortcut towards the toilets if he walked over the grass compared to the gravel path. Of course, an upset girl would run to the toilet. He should have learned this from Marinette by now!

With a deep sigh, Felix cursed Hawk Moth and public toilets and the fact that he would still do what he had to do. To put one over on Mothbreath and so Juleka wouldn’t be reminded of past traumatic events.

He didn’t usually storm the ladies’ room, but this also wasn’t a usual situation. He was faster than the akuma and skidded in front of a still pretty upset Juleka.

“Not her!” he hissed, watching the flying pattern of the black insect. “Not today!”

Felix heard the scared sobs Juleka tried to suppress. As if the butterfly could hear her and take control of her if she was too loud.

“Juleka, please listen to my voice,” he begged while internally praying that Ladybug would soon appear. “Take deep breaths. Concentrate on your breath on the feeling of your lungs expanding when you breathe in and contracting when you breathe out. You’re doing great! Ok, Juleka, do you think, you can listen? Hawk Moth can only control you if you think the power he offers is the only way out for you. Do you understand me? You don’t need his power. I think the fact that you are here is proof that you are so much stronger than he is. Do you want to hear my theory on why he mainly akumatizes teens and children?” Felix didn’t wait for an answer. Giving the girl something else to focus on seemed to be as good a plan as anything else.

“Teens and children haven’t had the chance to learn a few important life lessons. It’s a lot more likely that a situation seems hopeless to them. Hawk Moth thinks they are the best targets. Easy victims. I don’t think you’re a victim and I’m offended Mothbreath would dare to think this!”

A surprised little laugh sounded behind him and Felix felt a tiny part relax slightly.

“Mothbreath?” Juleka whispered.

“Yeah. I’m also convinced the akumas are created by his burps.” This was improvised, but he heard the girl giggle softly. The dark butterfly seemed to be scandalised by his words and left the restroom through a window. Felix felt himself finally relax. He was confident that Ladybug would be able to do the rest.

“Thank you. I … I really didn’t want to be akumatized again. I just get so anxious when so many people expect something from me. What if I disappoint them? Rosé and Luka’s friends were so excited for me and you organised everything and Mari agreed to let me model some of her designs. And my dad loves her designs and I just know that he would make this big deal about this. And if I end up having this portfolio and people immediately see through me and know I’m not an actual model? After all, most pictures of me end up being awful!”

No, no, you can’t get upset again, just when I was able to calm you down a bit! Felix tried frantically to come up with an idea.

“I just don’t want to disappoint everyone if I can’t do it,” Juleka added faintly not knowing how her words sparked an idea in the blond boy. Felix remembered himself saying something very similar many years ago. Reaching a decision he carefully looked out the door and saw Ladybug de-akumatizing that pigeon guy and joking with her cat boy. Seems as if Hawk Moth had to use the akuma one way or another and the pigeon guy was the only other option. He hoped Mothbreath bumped his tiny toe when he kicked something, angry about his newest loss and his stupidity.

“Look, over there is a bench, let’s sit for a moment,” he offered and pointed to a wooden bench not far away. Juleka nodded and followed him there. He took a moment to sort through his thoughts.

“Many years ago, when I had my first acting role, I said something similar. I was afraid I wouldn’t get it right and would be replaced by another, more experienced child actor, which would surely disappoint my family. One of the assistant cameramen found me and sat down with me. He told me that even though people may think otherwise, a camera doesn’t capture reality. This goes for acting and modelling. Shortly after my aunt disappeared, there was an interview and a photoshoot with Adrien. In the interview, they praised how brave my cousin was, because he could still smile for the camera. I like to think that I know my cousin well enough to know that he didn’t feel like smiling or brave in any way and this interview is just another reason I owe my uncle a kick in the crotch. He hid and mostly still hides in his obscenely large house and Adrien had to manage on his own, while the media hunted him down because stories and pictures of the son of the mysteriously vanished wife of a failed designer sold well.” He took a deep breath, to get back on topic.

“What I’m trying to say is, that in front of a camera, you can be whoever you want to be. It’s not Juleka, the girl who had a photo curse. When you’re in front of the camera, it’s Juleka, the model. If it would help you, you can have a pseudonym.”

“Do you have a pseudonym?”

“No,” he answered but pulled a piece of cloth out. “Back then, a friend gave me a piece of cloth she had used to practise stitching. I could hide it in the pocket of my costume. With it, I had an easier time getting into character.”

“Was Mari this friend?” she asked and finally there was a soft smile on her lips. She knew the answer, which is why Felix only smirked but didn’t answer. She snorted at that. “So, who are you playing if you have it with you now?”

“Initially I thought I would play the photographer, but it seems I also picked up the role of a civilian hero and your coach. This reminds me …”

Felix raised the hand in which he still held the hair clip she lost earlier.

“I think you lost this. It’s not a talisman made by Marinette, but then again, what else is? And I’m sure, Rosé will be more than happy to supply you with your own talisman. May I?” Felix didn’t comment on how Juleka blushed when he mentioned her girlfriend. Instead, he motioned to the hair that was hiding half her face. He leaned forward and fixed the hair clip so her hair would be held back.

“See? Now I can only see the model of today’s photoshoot. Before we go back, Marinette scolded me and told me, I should tell you before: I know someone working for a modelling agency with a youth program because he worked for my acting agency when I started out. He said he would be happy to take a look at the photos we shoot today and maybe he could get you into their summer program if we can show him the photos by the end of the week. Initially, I only wanted to tell you if everything worked out, but Marinette thought it’s more important that you are okay with someone else seeing your photos. What do you think?” Felix watched her and carefully tried to take note of every twitch that might tell him if she felt uncomfortable with the idea. Of course, he wanted to respect her wishes and if she didn’t dare to outright tell him, she didn’t like the idea, he wanted to be able to offer her a way out.

But he was worried for no reason because he could see determination steel her face and she gave him a brave nod. “That sounds like an amazing opportunity, Felix. Thank you. But, you know, now I really expect you to shoot amazing pics!” She gave him a small smirk and he returned it as he stood up.

“Perfect! Then let’s return to the location!”

When Felix saw his uncle later that day he was walking with a limp and when he asked his cousin what happened, he told him that Garbiel had bumped his tiny toe somewhere.

Huh! Well, it didn’t hit someone undeserving, Felix decided and revelled in the petty feeling of schadenfreude.
