Milton’s Satan might claim that “the mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven,” but even he knows that’s a lie: “Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell.”

The Atlantic published an article based on Jonathan Rosen's book about this case, regarding his childhood's best friend.
In many parts of the article, his writing is chilling. And he makes a great comment on the way mental illness has been handled.

can i ask what ur favourite non-ya mlm novel or series is? tysm :]
I can never say a single favorite, but a few big ones are Lavender House by Lev Rosen, Yes, Daddy by Jonathan Parks-Ramage, The Guncle by Steven Rowley, The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun, and You're a Mean One, Matthew Prince by Timothy Janovsky. Hmm, and Let's Get Back to the Party by Zak Salih and Real Life by Brandon Taylor. Okay, I can stop there. For now.

i recently finished "the best minds" by jonathan rosen and tbh i think it's the true and honest black pill. i had to put it down more than once because of how deeply upsetting it was, and i don't think i've ever come out the other side of a nonfiction book feeling so hopeless. ouch. that said, i'd still recommend it.
