SHIRLEY | Official Trailer | Netflix
Regina King stars as Shirley Chisholm in SHIRLEY--the story of the first Black congresswoman and her trailblazing run for president of the United States. Directed by John Ridley and co-starring, Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christina Jackson, Dorian Crossmond Missick, Amirah Vann, with André Holland and Terrence Howard, the film chronicles Chisholm's audacious, boundary-breaking 1972 presidential campaign.

A digital commission of Senator Riyo Chuchi by artist John Ridley. I wanted her to look like part of the Rebellion and a badass like Princess Leia

John Ridley's entire legacy at DC is about to be the complete destruction of a beloved gay latina superhero for copaganda, fridging Tam Fox, and creating a Bat character so redundant he had to take him out of Gotham to tell even a moderately interesting story with him. Wild, honestly. Can't think of another comic book writer with a worse opening track record.

John Ridley is a fucking idiot. If he really wanted to write a Blasian superhero, instead of the nonsense he wrote about Jace Fox, he coulda:
1) Found out about Connor Hawke via a simple Google & written a new Green Arrow series.
2) Paid off the romance between Black Lightning & Katana by giving them a kid because he clearly wanted to write them.
But unfortunately none of those have the Batman clout he clearly wanted 🙄

Black Panther #12 by John Ridley and Germán Peralta. Cover by Alex Ross. Variant covers by (2) Felipe Massafera and (3) Peach Momoko. Out in December.
“Just as T’Challa thinks his past secrets lay buried with the dead, the true identity of his latest enemy has left him shaken! Even as he escapes capture and returns to the Avengers, Captain America isn’t too pleased with Black Panther’s role in creating these new terrorists for peace. The message is clear: If T’Challa isn’t ready to be a team player, he doesn’t belong on a team. With no kingdom, no Avengers and no allies, who is left to aid T’Challa against this monster of his own making?”
