[:hu]Grizzly II: The Predator aka Grizzly II: The Concert aka Grizzly II: Revenge (2020)[:]

In The Name Of The King - 2007
Jason Statham, Ron Perlman, Ray Liotta, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Claire Forlani, Kristanna Loken, Mathew Lillard, Brian White, Burt Reynolds, Will Sanderson
Review: So, I started the movie. As I watched I noticed the cheesy acting, and the somewhat over the top characters. I thought Ray Liotta was miscast in his role, but I didn’t think much of it and kept watching. The first 45 minutes of the movie I didn’t think were terrible, and I wondered how it got such a bad score on IMDB.
Then I watched the other hour and fifteen minutes and I completely understood why it had what it had.
The big fight scene between the kings armies and the Orcs was absolutely bat shit crazy, in a bad way. They randomly added Ninja’s into the mix, the orca could suddenly tunnel with no explanation as to how. There was a random scene where a man in a three piece suit has a stick and just destroys an orc with it. Now if this was a comedy, it would have been hilarious, but it was all played as serious as possible.
The acting as the movie goes on becomes atrocious. The movie was written terribly, some scenes I actually had to play again because either I couldn’t believe what I say, or I thought I had misheard the dialogue, just to go back and realize I had heard it right, and it just didn’t make sense.
The plot line was very cliche, and does nothing different (or at least different in a good way). It actually combines too separate cliche plot lines, and someone does both badly. He starts the movie trying to save his wife, but gets distracted at the thought of becoming king, even though he doesn’t trust the kingdom.
Oh, and the editing of this is one of the worst jobs I’ve ever seen in a movie. It cuts off mid-scene too go to a different scene, just to come back to the exact point where the last scene left off. Why not just finish the fucking scene, before you cut to the next one? Why throw a random scene right into the middle? They also have vastly different tones between scenes and it disrupts the flow of the movie.
3.8/10

Victor / Victoria Definitely Deserved a Re-watch Today
Just re-watched this movie for the first time in a long time today. This really is one of the best movies and if you haven't seen it you should.
The cast alone...Julie Andrews, Robert Preston, James Gardner, Leslie Ann Warren, Alex Karras and John Rhys-Davis.
The story still holds up today in my opinion and the movie has some of the best musical scenes too.
I just have to post some of my favorites.
I love how well Julie Andrews and Robert Preston perform this song. One of my all time favorites.
youtube
Julie Andrews...nothing else needs to be said.
youtube
Lesley Ann Warren is such a hoot in this.
youtube
Robert Preston's version of The Shady Dame is awesome....the man was rob of an Oscar here. I think the reason why this scene is so much fun is because Robert Preston seems to be enjoying himself so much and his laughter at the end is genuine.
The story goes he did this scene in one take and keep in mind he was 63 when he filmed this. Not too shabby. Sadly we lost in too soon a few years later.
youtube
Anyways if you haven't seen this movie I can't recommend it enough. Give it a try!!

Another example of actors who could have played siblings or cousins.
Peter Ustinov:

And Eli Wallach:

Bonus: John Rhys Davies could have been played Ustinov’s son

Just finished reading James Clavell's Shōgun. An exceptional read.
Tumblr media
It's part of his Asian Saga which is written non-chronologically. I've now moved on to Tai-Pan, which revolves are the founding of Hong Kong during the "China Traders" (opium smugglers) period.
I'd already watch the Richard Chamberlain television adaptation, and looked up the trailers for the subsequent adaptations. Much to my joy I saw John Rhys-Davies appear in Noble House opposite Pierce Brosnan. Part of me home his character a descendant of Vasco Rodriguez.
