All the Precious and Fragile Things (so easily do they break)
After banishing his lover to the waking world for her deception, Morpheus learns she's been captured by a revenge-seeking Alexander Burgess.
And that she's also very pregnant with his child.
Unknown to the both of them, this will set in motion a cascade of events that threatens the whole of existence itself.

Epilogue
Sometimes He's Sweet
Morpheus hates the holidays.
As excited as she seems to experience the mortal holiday, he's… less so. Much less so. With the entire collective unconscious contained within him, this time of year can be wholly overwhelming, a miasma of too much red and green, too much worry, too much loneliness, too much excitement, too many similarly themed dreams, too many similarly themed nightmares, and far far too many holiday songs. It all bleeds out from the collective unconscious into his own mind, sticks there like weeping sap to a tree until he feels half-mad with the unrelenting presence of it, with his inability to get free from its cloying trespass upon his very being.
This is just a little sweet fluff for the holiday season. It takes place between chapters 19 and 20 of "All the Precious and Fragile Things". No spoilers here if you've read that far!
The Dog Debacle (or how best to sneak a dragon into the dreaming)
Morpheus' daughter gets a new dog.
Well..... kind of.
That Familiar Feeling of Family (or how Hob Gadling ended up as an uncle to his stranger's oftentimes feral children)
It's a pretty universally known thing that families are just strange. As Hob is quickly figuring out, however, this little fact is magnified by AT LEAST a billion when the family in question is Endless.
(A lighthearted story in which Hob Gadling finds out his stranger has married, makes friends with a homicidal maniac/ruler, and manages to become an exemplary uncle to a pack of magically mischievous children. Really, now all he has to do is convince everyone to stop calling his and Dream's weekly meetups "playdates", and then his life would be practically perfect.)
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
The Maker, the Muse, and the Sundered Song
In his temple, what remains of Orpheus waits in trepidation. Something is changing. Something that he knows might alter the very fabric of the world as he understands it.
Finally freed from captivity, Calliope struggles to make any meaningful changes to the laws that saw her bound and taken in the first place. When the strange woman appears on Mount Parnassus and offers help, Calliope knows she would be a fool not to accept it. Even if she thinks that she's being lied to.
Meanwhile in the peace of the Dreaming, Morpheus grapples with guilt over his son's fate. As he basks in the love of his new children, he can't help but to regret his own failings where Orpheus is concerned.
And as for May, she's really just got a job to do. And her own traumatic issues to deal with. And if it's all hella awkward because she's having to work alongside her husband's ex-wife, she'll see it done anyway. There's even the small possibility that she might eventually admit to Calliope the truth about her identity. That is if she can ever actually work up the courage to say it aloud.
Chapter 1
Nothing in This Closet but Boots and a Boy
Morpheus is wildly protective of his daughter.
That's probably bad for the boy in said daughter's closet.
AU's and Other Stuff in the Sandman 'Verse
Of Exes, Hellhounds, and Waffle Fries
Morpheus shows up to rescue the woman he probably loves (though he won't admit it) from hellhounds and ends up getting roped into helping with her family. This is one of those extras that doesn't fit into the main story, but it's fun, so I'm posting it.
The Bizarre Breeding Habits of Anthropomorphic Personifications
It's a tale as old as time.
Two idiots fall in love. Two idiots fall out of love.
Neither one of them is expecting a baby to come along and derail their unhappily ever after.

So today I decided to pay attention to the text in Gabriel's matchbox and it says:
"Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out." Job 41:19
My first though was: isn't that actually what Crowley did when he stepped into hellfire for Aziraphale?
I mean:
Tumblr media
I looked it up in the Bible and the quote and the whole chapter refer to the Leviathan, but couldn't it also apply to Crowley? Without giving it a lot of thought, at least these verses sound a lot like him:
3: Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? 4: Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? 8: Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. 18: By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19: Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. 20: Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. 21: His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. 24: His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. 25: When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
I'm sure that greater minds than mine will find a way to relate the rest of the verses to him, further analyse the whole thing and maybe come up with a whole theory based on this, so I'm just leaving it here to feed the fandom thinking machine.

Through the Bible with Les Feldick LESSON 2 * PART 4 * BOOK 82 THE LAST MESSAGE TO DANIEL - 4 Daniel 11:32 - 12:13 Okay, good to have everybody back.  This will be program number four, and then we’ll be out of here on time today.  Okay, we’re still sending out these Question and Answer books.  It is eighty-eight questions, if I remember right, answered from our previous program materials. They’re a good light people are using. They’re a good tract and answer a lot of basic questions.   Okay, Herb, if you’ll take this book.  Thanks.  So if you’re interested, why give the office a call. We send them out with an invoice. They’re $11.00.   I think they’re worth it. Okay, we’re winding up pretty much the Book of Daniel in this program.  We’ll go back to Daniel chapter 12.  Like I said in the first half hour this afternoon, in the opening verses it spoke of resurrection. There’s probably more resurrection taught in Daniel chapter 12 than all the rest of the Old Testament, because you don’t have a lot of resurrection teaching in the Old Testament.  The first one I ever found—way, way back when I was just all of a sudden brought to my senses that I hadn’t been taught everything there was to know, and I had to search for some of these things. I’m going to open with that one.  Go all the way back with me to the little Book of Job. Oh, I guess it’s not a little book, but back to Job chapter 19. This was the first concept that I pulled out of the Old Testament concerning resurrection.  And then, of course, Paul, in I Corinthians 15, just opens the whole Pandora’s Box—if I can use the expression—of resurrection details and kind of fills everything in.  But back here in Job chapter 19, drop down to verse 25.  And as far as we know, Job is probably the oldest written book of our whole Bible.  Now, look what the man writes. Job 19:25 “For I know (no if’s, and’s, or but’s) for I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:” Now there’s your first inkling, then, of a coming earthly Kingdom with God the Son as the King.  All right, “He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.”   Now, here comes the resurrection part. Job 19:26 “And though after my skin worms destroy this body, (in other words, physical death) yet in my flesh (in resurrected flesh) I shall see God:” Now, that’s as plain as you can get it so far as Old Testament language is concerned. All right, now come up to Daniel.  Even though we’re going to start—Jerry’s got it on the board—in verse 8, let’s just drop back a minute to verses 2 and 3, again.  We looked at it in the first half hour, but I told you then—I’m going to look at it later in the afternoon.  Chapter 12 reviewing verses 2 and 3. Daniel 12:2-3 “And many of them who sleep in the dust of the earth (in other words, have died physically) shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” All right, I think I’m inclined to take you back, again—like we did in the first half hour this afternoon—just quickly to John’s Gospel chapter 5, so that you understand that Jesus is saying almost the same thing that Daniel is.  Naturally, it’s the Scripture.  It’s inspired of the Holy Spirit.  All right, John chapter 5, again, verses 28 and 29. John 5:28-29 “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, (Sometime out there in the future—we’re closer now by 2,000 years than when Jesus spoke it.) in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29. And shall come forth; they who have done good, (Or people of faith, as we mentioned before.) unto the resurrection of life; and they who have done evil, unto the resurrection of condemnation.” Now, we don’t know until we get to the Book of Revelation that those two events are separated by over 1,000 years. The resurrection of the just takes place before the Kingdom, and the resurrection of the lost is at the end of the Kingdom.
We’ll look at that a little bit later in this half hour. Now, come back with me to Daniel chapter 12, again.  Now verse 8, and again he repeats what he said earlier in the book: Daniel 12:8a “And I heard, but I understood not:...” Now just stop and think a minute.  All these visions and prophecies that Daniel had seen throughout his lifetime—from the time he was a lad of fourteen until now when he’s up in his 90’s—and he had seen some of them fulfilled.  But a lot of this was still way out in the future, and he couldn’t even begin to comprehend it.  He says so. Daniel 12:8b “…then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?”  All these prophetic events, what are they leading up to?  Well, you and I know – eternity.  Everything is moving to eternity. Now, human history establishes the fact that since Adam until now has been in the area of 6,000 years.  We’ve got a thousand years left for the earthly Kingdom, but then what? Eternity!  Eternity! And you see, not a one of us can comprehend the length of eternity.  You know, once in a while a blip will flip through my mind – are we going to get bored?  No.  I’ll tell you ahead of time.  We’ll never get bored.  But on the other hand, to think in the terms of eternity means it’s never going to end.  Now, for us in Glory, that is something easy to take. But for those who have gone the other way, it’s frightening to contemplate that they will be there forever and ever and ever.  You know, zero to the umpteenth power.  It’s unbelievable.  All right, back to our text, verse 9. Daniel 12:9 “And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.”  Well you see, we’re in that period of time. So now the Scriptures have been opened up in such a way that we can now fit it all together.  But, like I said in an earlier program, until about 1900 nobody could.  And then in the late 1800’s, all of a sudden just a few sprinkling of Bible scholars were getting the idea that the Jew would evidently go back to his homeland. Well, there was hardly any indication of it when they first started thinking about it. But then, of course, in the late 1800’s—in the 1890’s—why, then a couple of Jewish leaders, Theodor Herzl and Chaim Weizmann, I think were a couple of the Jewish leaders that started the move to get the powers that be, primarily Great Britain—because you want to remember, at that time the sun never set on the British Empire. Their empire circumvented the globe.  So, Great Britain was the people in charge of the Middle East. So, they were the appropriate ones to approach about establishing a homeland for these Jews who were now scattered all around the planet. Well, from that, of course, at 1900 it finally came to the place where the Jews started going back.  Until in 1948, of course, they were declared a sovereign state.  All these things now, as I said in the first program this afternoon, have just been rolling down the hill gathering snow, or gathering moss, however you want to picture it, and bringing us up to the present time right now today, where we have an understanding of these things like they never had before. And a lot of it is due to technology.  For example, when Revelation spoke—now, let’s just go back and look at it.  This is a Bible study.  And what we don’t finish today, we’ll pick up a month from now in our next taping.  But come back to Revelation, and I think I want chapter 10.  Chapter 11, I’m sorry—Revelation chapter 11, the two witnesses.  And I won’t go through all the verses right now.  I haven’t got time.  But here the two witnesses appeared on the streets of Jerusalem—I think at the very same moment that the anti-Christ and Israel and the Arab world are meeting someplace else—and they are going to start proclaiming, again, the Gospel of the Kingdom, like Jesus said. Matthew 24:14 “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness, and then shall the end come.” The Gospel of Grace ends with the Rapture of the Church.
It began with the Church, and it’s going to end with the Church.  But the Gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the Tribulation.  All right, these two witnesses, I think, will open the door someplace in Jerusalem.  All right, but now the part I wanted you to see is in verse 7. They’re going to continue their preaching for three-and-a-half years, from the opening day until the mid-point. Revelation 11:7-8 “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit (That is the anti-Christ under the power of Satan.) shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.”  So, it’s Jerusalem. Revelation 11:9 “And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be put in graves.” All right, now do you see what that verse says?  The population of the world, from one end to the other, is going to witness these two bodies lying on the streets of Jerusalem. Now, Loraine, you and I both remember.  When we were kids, if somebody preached that—on the way home I can still hear Mom and Dad question, how in the world can that ever be?  How can people over here in America see two dead bodies on the streets of Jerusalem? Well, that was a dilemma.  But the Book said it.  And now, of course, it’s everyday.  These cell phones drive me up the wall, on one hand, and they—it’s just unbelievable.  But these kids with these cell phones will see those two bodies on the streets of Jerusalem quicker than you can blink an eye.  But see, without the technology, it could have never been possible. So here again, I can go back to the increase of knowledge.  That starting there at the beginning of the last half of the 1800’s and you come up to 1900 and here comes technology.  Leading to all the things that we take for granted today.  But would the world function without it?  There’s no way that this world could function with the technology available in 1900. But, everything progresses relatively. Everything is relative. As you have the increase of automobiles and the need for fuel, oil production increases.  As population increases, food production increases.  And God has got it all under control, so it’ll last until the end.  Don’t worry about the environment.  Now, take care of it, naturally.  I don’t want to see trash on the road any more than anybody else.  But don’t worry about ol’ planet earth.  You don’t have to be a tree hugger to keep it going.  God’s got it under control.  And He’s going make sure everything functions until He’s through with it. All right, so here we have these two witnesses prophesied as being seen by every tongue and tribe and nation, but it could not happen without the technology of satellite television and now the cell phone.  But here, it’s no problem. All right, back to Daniel chapter 12 a minute, again.  Because we want to talk about the resurrections, hopefully before the half hour is gone.  All right, so now in verse 10: Daniel 12:10a “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: (Well, we certainly see that. We’re still seeing people saved today, but, oh, the ungodliness is on a downhill slide.  It’s just getting worse by the day.) and none of the wicked shall understand;…”  They don’t understand what things are taking place.  They don’t see that all of this stuff pertaining to globalism and the financial meltdown—it’s all in preparation for the coming of the anti-Christ.  It’s getting everything ready for him.   But that’s not what we want to look at now.  We’ll look at that maybe in another taping.   Now verse 11, here we come. Daniel 12:11a “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away,…”  Now, you’ve got to stop and think a minute, again.  When did Temple worship begin?  At the signing of that treaty at the opening of the Tribulation.
That will be part of the treaty, that Israel can re-establish Temple worship.  And they’re going to.  I think that Temple is all set, pre-fabbed in a warehouse in Jerusalem. And when that treaty ink is dry, those Jews will start building that Temple. And I think it’ll be, like I said before, up there on the Temple Mount, and within a matter of forty-eight hours they’re ready to go. Now, we know that the Jews have got everything ready for Temple worship.  They’ve got all the garments for the priesthood hanging on mannequins. Iris and I have seen them.  They’ve got all the shovels for the fire of the sacrifice and all that.  Everything is ready. All they’ve got to do is build that Temple. It’ll go up overnight. All right, now we go back to the time when that Temple will be shut down by the anti-Christ, which is three-and-a-half years from the end, or twelve hundred and sixty days from the end.  Except here we have the exception. Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, (That is the mid-point of the Tribulation.) there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.”  Thirty days beyond the sixty.  But, it doesn’t stop there. Daniel 12:12 “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” So, now we’ve got an extra seventy-five days after the end of the Tribulation. Now, we know the Tribulation is going to end right on schedule, or no one would survive.  Now then, this great event, which is the resurrection of all of the saints that were not in the Body of Christ—I feel they will all come out of the graves at this point in time, because of verse 13. Daniel 12:13 “But go thy way (God tells Daniel.) until the end be: (Well, not the end of the Tribulation.  That’s another event.  But to the end of these seventy-five days into the thousand years.) Go thy way until the end be: for thou shalt rest, (That is in death.) and stand in thy lot at the end of the (seventy five) days.” All right, now I think in order to clarify that, I’m going to have to take us back to I Corinthians chapter 15, the great resurrection chapter of all of Scripture.  But it is Paul, now, describing the resurrection of the Body of Christ.  That’s the only group of people that Paul is interested in, the Body of Christ. I Corinthians 15:20a “But now…” Now, that’s one of Paul’s favorite expressions, isn’t it, because of the great change in modus operandi.  Everything has been Jewish.  Everything has been set according to Law.  But when the work of the Cross is completed, and this Apostle was designated to go to the Gentiles, it’s a whole new ballgame.  That’s why he is Holy Spirit inspired to use these two words. I Corinthians 15:20-21 “But now (which is totally different from “And then.”) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (Died physically) 21. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.” Now I suppose I’ll wish I had an hour or more, and I’m going to run out of time.  In Romans chapter 5, you see, Paul lays out so clearly that Adam was the first man and Christ was the Second Man, or the Second Adam.  The first man plunged the human race into the sin problem.  The Second Man made everything available to bring him out of it.  So, you have these two entities.  Adam, who set the human race under the curse; and Christ, the Second Adam, who, by His work of the Cross, made possible the salvation for everyone, if they’ll only believe it. All right, for those who have become believers of Paul’s Gospel, and he calls it this over and over.  I haven’t got time to look at them, but “my Gospel,” “that Gospel which I preach among the Gentiles.”  All right, that Gospel, of course, is—you’re in chapter 15 anyway—you might as well back up so that we remind our audience what Paul’s Gospel is.  Just go back to the first four verses of this chapter 15.  Most of you should know it by memory.  We’ve read it often enough.
I Corinthians 15:1-2a “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel (Yes, there’s only one.) which I preached unto, which also ye have received, and wherein you stand: 2. By which also ye are saved,…”  My, that’s as plain as language can make it.  This is the Gospel that saves lost mankind. I Corinthians 15:2b-4 “…if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (Now, here it is, the heart of the Gospel.) 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4.  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scripture:.”  That’s Paul’s Gospel.  And people that have believed that for their salvation will get to go in the Rapture. And to show you that only the Body of Christ will be resurrected at what we call the Rapture, turn with me to I Thessalonians chapter 4, and we’ll see the prerequisites for being in the Rapture.  Now you see, the Rapture is the resurrection of the Body of Christ Saints who have died.  Who will be called forth and reunited with their departed soul and spirit, so that they are now a complete body, soul, and spirit ready for eternity. Then in the next instant, we who are alive and remain will be translated.  We will just suddenly be changed. All right, but for everyone that will be in this resurrection of the Body of Christ, this is the prerequisite, chapter 4 verse 14. I Thessalonians 4:14a “For if we believe (What’s the big word in there?  I-F…If) if we believe...” And I always have to emphasize, I did it again the other day in Denver.  Somebody came up and I said this is only for someone who truly believes.  Most of Christendom doesn’t.  And I think I’m safe in saying that.  They just don’t get it, but here it is. I Thessalonians 4:14a “For if we believe (plus nothing.) that Jesus died and rose again,…” That’s exactly what he said in I Corinthians 15, isn’t it?  That’s Paul’s Gospel.  All right, for those who have gained salvation through this message, they are members of the Body of Christ.  But listen, who was the first emissary or apostle who revealed this message?  Paul. It was never revealed to the Apostles.  Peter, James, and John never preached death, burial, and resurrection for salvation.  Now, let me show you an example. I’m going to run out of time.  I know I am.  Sorry about that.  Come back with me to Acts chapter 4, the healing of the lame man.  And see, this makes it so evident.  I’m sorry, it’s chapter 3. Those of you that are writing notes, I hate to make you scratch it out, but it’s Acts chapter 3.  They healed the lame man, and, oh, the Jews were all upset. Now you’ve got to remember, this is only fifty days between the resurrection and Pentecost.  It might we another week or so later, but we’re talking in terms of within a period of sixty days after, maybe, Jesus performed His last miracle. So, it’s not all that long ago.  And they can’t get it.  How did you perform a miracle like this—healing the lame man that had been laying there at the Temple gate for forty years?  Oh, it had just caused a big hubbub in Israel. All right, now then, Peter comes back and he tells these Jews.  We didn’t do it.  It was the power of God exercised because of the man’s faith.  But faith in what?  Not the death, burial, and resurrection—now pick it up in verse 16.  See, this is why I get uptight.  I say, people can’t read.  They either read with their eyes closed, or they’ve got them open so far they see stuff that doesn’t belong in there.  And one of my rules of thumb is, if you’re going to study the Scriptures, it’s just as important to see what is not in the Scripture as what is.  All right, but now look what is not in here, verse 16, Peter says: Acts 3:16a “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong,…” Or whole!  Does he say anything about the Cross?  Not a word.  Anything about the shed blood?  Not a word.  So, what did he believe?  Exactly
what Peter’s profession of faith was clear back there in Matthew 16, when Jesus asked, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” And what was Peter’s answer?  “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Period.  Not a word about the Cross.  Not a word about resurrection.  It was believing who He was, and what Gospel was that?  The Kingdom Gospel!   That’s what Jesus and the Twelve preached, that Jesus was the King, the Messiah, and the Redeemer. All right, it was faith in that fact that saved the Jews of Peter’s day.  But, you see, that leaves them back for the Old Testament.  But for us in the Body of Christ, it’s through faith not only in who Christ was, but what He accomplished.  And that’s what makes the difference. All right, now then, I guess I’m going to run out of time.  Here we have Paul in I Corinthians 15, again—oh, wound down to one minute.  I’ll never make it.  I Corinthians chapter 15 and we’ll just have to pick it up in the next taping, I guess.  The key word is in verse 22. I Corinthians 15:22-23 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (But now here’s the kicker.  Here’s the frosting on the cake.) 23. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; (At His Resurrection, and I think those that came out of the graves.) afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming.”  The Rapture of the Church—that takes care of all the resurrection of the non-Jewish believers.

KNOWING YOUR BIBLE
June 21, 2023: Dear Friends, The blog has been delayed this week due to weather damage in the area causing a lack of assess to the internet. To be able to have a blog, a friend generously offered internet services for today. Thank God for good friends! Thank God for watching over our safety and guidance as we proceed forward with this series.                                                                                              The purpose of this series is to provide information that will help the follower gain knowledge and greater understanding of how the books of the Bible are related and connected to each other. During this process of learning, confidence in oneself will increase, producing the necessary interest of wanting to learn and know the Bible.               The Bible is God’s Holy Word to it’s readers. God inspired the writings of each of the authors of the books of the Bible as written in 2nd Timothy, chapter 3, verses 16 and 17. Because the books were written by several different writers over a several- hundred-year timeframe, a new follower that is trying to understand the Bible, may become confused and disinterested when trying to progress in learning the Bible. Some may even turn away from trying to learn the Bible.                                                                                                                    Go to previous blogs written in the last few weeks to review the information written on other ways the books of the Bible are related to each other. Review the blogs in this series several times to reinforce the learning that is taking place in “Knowing Your Bible.”        Bible verses will be listed for certain words and ideas that transverse through many books of the Bible to revile to the follower what God is trying to convey through the words of the Bible.                                                     MAY GOD BLESS YOUR BIBLE STUDY THIS WEEK!                 WORDS:    FAITH: Habakkuk, chapter 2, verses 2-4; Matthew, chapter 22, verses 34-40; Lamentations, chapter 3, verses 22-29, John, chapter 3, verse 16; John, chapter 13, verse 1; 1st John, chapter 4, verses 16-19.   RIGHTEOUSNESS: Job, chapter 1, verse 1, and chapter 9, verses 9-10;  Proverbs, chapter 4, verse 18; Luke chapter 1, verse 75; 1st Peter, chapter 3, verses 10-12.     WISDOM; Job, chapter 28, verse 28; 2nd Chronicles, chapter 9, verses 1-8; Proverbs, chapter 2, verses 1-11; Matthew, chapter 7, verses 24-27; Matthew, chapter 12, verse 42; 1st Corinthians, chapter 1, verses 22-25.

Faith For Action
Tumblr media
he Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy was writing from prison, but he penned these words in Chapter 1 verse 11 and 12:
V11: “For this gospel, I was appointed herald apostle, and teacher, and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day”.
No one yearns to be crushed, no one welcomes the pain and pressure of adversity. Crushing is a painful, agonizing process and the scares it leaves behind are real. But only through crushing can God release the full fragrance of Hi mercy in the life of the man or woman of God.
If you are feeling the heat and pressure of painful circumstances today, then you are in great company. Job did nothing really wrong in the Book of Job, but he was tested and even his friends gave him a hard time, with their thoughts as to why Job was having a hard time.
But Job knew as Paul did and Job could say; Job 19 verse 25 to 27:
V 25: “But I know my living Redeemer, and He will stand on the dust at last”.
V 26: “ Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I see God in my flesh”.
V 27: “I will see Him myself; my eyes will look at Him, and not as a stranger> My heart longs within me”.
In Hebrews it tells us,{Hebrews 13 verse 5} “For He Himself {Our Lord and Our Friend} has said ‘I will never leave you or forsake you”.
Understanding and knowing God’s greatness nothing can overcome us or defeat us.
God Bless.

Pray for Piett
@silvereddaye
Piett isn’t paid enough for the skywalker family drama bullshit.
(comprised in no particular order, some stories are more explicit than others with Pray for Piett)
1.  Compromising -samvelg
5 + 1 Five times Admiral Piett misunderstands the nature of Luke and Vader's relationship, and the one time he doesn't.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11539302/chapters/25908651
2. For Want of a Skywalker--- acuteneurosis
After the miracle of having survived Bespin, Piett does not ask why they are stopping on Tatooine. Or why Lord Vader suddenly has acquired a small child. Or why this child's name is Luke. Or how long they are going to keep him.
He probably should have.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22044874/chapters/52612567
( Note* Part 1 of the Through the Eyes of the Beholder)
3.  The kidnappings of a Sith Lord - maedre13
How a certain Sith Lord may or may not kidnap his rebel son. One-shots. Strongly inspired by sparklight´s “Where Our Intrepid Hero Doesn´t Get Away”.
Current chapter: In which Vader tries to arrange a marriage
https://archiveofourown.org/works/10606992/chapters/23453241
4.  Living Relics-- planningconquest
Poe Dameron, on a routine flight, stumbles across an entirely new mess for the New Republic to deal with. Finding Imperial relics that can help with the galaxy's most pressing questions and problems.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23113807/chapters/55303762
5.  Luke Skywalker Is Altogether Too Likable - Mokulule
A bounty hunter claims to have caught the empire's most wanted rebel, unfortunately for Admiral Piett, Lord Vader is not in attendence, so he will have to take the call.
Alternatively; the Piett POV story I have amused myself with for several months and that I hope others will also enjoy.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14477958/chapters/33444051
(Note* Part of the  Likability Conundrum series )
6.  Firmus Piett Is Altogether Too Likable- Mokulule
This is a companion piece to Luke Skywalker Is Altogether Too Likable, it is basically the first chapter from Luke's POV with more background and angst.
Luke has been captured by the nasty bounty hunter Bossc Blackscale along with small Twilek child Nia, who was used as a hostage.
Now he's about to enter Imperial custody and he meets the most peculiar Imperial.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/18065363
(Note Complete Series below)
https://archiveofourown.org/series/1300493
7.  Some Assembly Required - Mokulule
Luke desperately call out for help in the force. Darth Vader finally gets his hands on his elusive son, but he doesn't quite get what he expected.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/17394782/chapters/40941173
8. One Dream, One Vision- severnlight
After the disastrous duel on Bespin, more than mere words transpire over the newly forged bond between father and son. And this time, R2 is not so lucky with the hyperdrive. Darth Vader is beyond pleased to finally have his son in custody, but the Force keeps whispering something about the terrorist Princess as well. With the identity of Lord Vader's long lost son revealed, every being of some consequence from Core to Outer Rim is busy plotting their own schemes for Luke Skywalker. The young rebel is trying his best to navigate the new relationship with his father, and scramble a plan or two of his own. Admiral Piett and various unsuspecting Imperial citizens are entangled in the drama. Vader acts completely unpredictable, the threads of destiny are tossed up in the air, and the Galaxy holds its breath.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/9817640/chapters/22044329
9.  Darth Vader Goes to School - LadyVader23
Darth Vader gets bored with killing people and decides to get a degree in Engineering. He develops an interest in his classmate, Luke Lars. Poor Piett becomes the awkward middle man.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23905714/chapters/57477952
(Note* Vader essentially commits identity fraud on Piett to do a few online classes and Piett roles with it because what you want to say no to Vader, and gets tangled in the fuck up that is Vader’s life)
10.   LIBERO per fidem, or How Piett Accidentally Hastened the War Because He Kinda Cared About Vader--ThreadSketchier
It's the Admiral's job to overthink things. This time, however, it's going to be both the best AND worst decision he's ever made.
(note* this is not technically a fic and it’s a private story but it’s still worth checking)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22535980/chapters/53852038
11.. How (not) to cope with Skywalker family drama - prayforpiett
In which the admiral of the Executor tries to find ways to manage his stress. Like any sensible person, he tries to turn his frustrations into creative endeavors. And he also drinks. A lot.
Of course, it all gets worse when he starts to have stress dreams about a certain Luke Skywalker...
https://archiveofourown.org/works/24320452/chapters/58632580
(   Note* From the appropriately titled author PrayforPiett. )
12.  A Life Day Miracle - Mokulule
A few months after the Death Star was destroyed, Darth Vader gets an early Life Day present in the form of the child he'd thought he'd lost, now if only events wouldn't keep conspiring against him he would actually get to tell his son of their relation.
Luke and Wedge are very confused, this is not how they expected being captured by Imperials would go.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/17646887/chapters/41613821
(Note*  Mokulule again)
13.  In Loco Pirates - izzythehutt
A down-on-his-luck Hondo Ohnaka manages to capture the unicorn of all bounties--Luke Skywalker, which sends Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, on a painfully familiar trip to the planet Florrum to collect his prize. The failed negotiations leave Vader in the awkward position of being stuck in a besieged pirate bunker, trying to balance keeping his wayward child safe (and in his custody) with controlling the tongue of a loose-lipped pirate who--to the surprise of no one--has a bad habit of telling 'amusing' anecdotes from the Clone Wars.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/3841744/chapters/8574070
(Part 1 of  In Loco Pirates-Verse  https://archiveofourown.org/series/324137)
14.  Palpatine Ad Portas - izzythehutt
When the Emperor Palpatine moves the Empire Day Celebration to Naboo, Darth Vader is forced to confront a past he had thought better buried and forgotten. Admiral Piett becomes the reluctant confidante of the monarch, caught in the middle of a deadly Sith cat-and-mouse mind game. Meanwhile, the young Rebel who blew up the Death Star returns to his mother's home world to pay his respects on the anniversary of her death--unaware of his father and the Emperor's presence on the planet and the very grave danger he is in.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/4819292/chapters/11034437
(Part 2 of  In Loco Pirates-Verse  https://archiveofourown.org/series/324137)
15.  Meet the Skywalkers - frodogenic
Newly returned from the Unknown Regions with Darth Vader, Admiral Piett doesn't expect much of a welcome from the New Republic. And not in a million lifetimes would he have predicted that their very first guest would be Luke Skywalker. After all, Skywalker and Vader are still mortal enemies...right?
Multichapter prequel to Lord Vader's Limpet and Driving Lord Vader.
Chapter 14: The Lady’s 25-year sojourn enters the final risky stretch.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/8158216/chapters/18696025
(Note* Part 3 of the  Limpet AU,  see more here  https://archiveofourown.org/series/554200)
16.  in an endless universe----loosingletters
Chapter 8 , 9 and 10 : Grandfather Vader AU
Luke has a kid to raise and the Empire might not care much about its personnel, but at least it pays its mechanics well. Enter Darth Vader.
Part 1:https://archiveofourown.org/works/22955416/chapters/55002466
Part 2: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22955416/chapters/55067716#workskin
Part 3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22955416/chapters/56968354#workskin
(Note* Link to full series :
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22955416/chapters/57641386)
17.  Allegiance - KaelinaLovesLomaris
Luke is captured by Imperials while on a mission and ends up needing his father's help getting out of a tricky situation. What follows is shameless Luke and Vader father-son bonding, with plenty of action, angst, and fluff, as Vader finally has his son at his side and plots to destroy the Emperor. Everyone's favorite Imperial, Admiral Piett, plays a large role, as does Luke's fellow pilot, Wedge Antilles, and Boba Fett will probably make an appearance.
Post ESB AU, with canon divergence. This is not Dark!Luke. It is eventual Vader redemption.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/6745156/chapters/16127191
(note* Allegiance-verse series)
18 . Interview with a Sith Lord--- KaelinaLovesLomaris
Before Piett was the Admiral of Death Squadron, he was captain of the Accuser. And once Darth Vader learned of his son and realized he would someday need to take the Emperor down, he began looking for an admiral he could trust... Or how Piett got the job of captain of the Executor and eventually became admiral of the Death Squadron. This is in my Allegiance-verse, but it's not necessary to read Allegiance to understand this.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/8747338
( Note* Allegiance-verse series)
19. Twin Suns - EagleInFlight
ROTJ AU: Vader reached out into the Force, eager to teach this trooper a lesson when suddenly the old him woke from his slumber and an Anakin quip slipped out of his mouth: “Have the Empire become so desperate that they’re recruiting below the height requirement?” A wave of amusement splashed through the Force from the trooper. That signature... The trooper took off his helmet, jerked his blonde hair back from his eyes and stared up at him. “Explains why I can’t see out of this helmet.” Darth Vader was left utterly speechless. His son stood before him. His son was here of his own free accord. Luke flashed a smile that warmed Vader’s heart. “I’m here to rescue you.”
OR: Luke Skywalker sneaks on-board the Executor to rescue his father, Darth Vader.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14289804
20.  Skywalker Family Values - Ariel_Sojourner
Camp Chippewa is proud to be the Empire’s foremost camp resort for privileged young adults. Located on the picturesque forest moon of Endor, your child will have the opportunity to participate in wholesome outdoor activities and socialize appropriately with their peers. We invite your offspring to join us for the experience of a lifetime and a bright future in service of the greater glory of the Empire.
On opposite sides of the galaxy, on opposite sides of a civil war, Darth Vader and Padme Amidala unwittingly send Luke and Leia to the same camp during school break. Chaos naturally ensues.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14258124/chapters/32883750
(Note* Piett doesn’t feature in this as much compared to the others but dear lord still, pray for this poor man)
21. Two and a Half Men (with a baby)- orphan_account
After a long day of bargaining with Hutts and attempting to ignore his past, Darth Vader is nearing the end of his rope. When he discovers his two-year-old son, it's the straw that breaks the semi-rational Sith Lord's back; in a rash act worthy of the Skywalker name, he scoops his son into his arms, steals a shuttle from his own fleet, and punches in random hyperspace coordinates to a destination on the other side of the galaxy.
Unfortunately, father and son are not the only ones on the ship.

criminal-minds-fanfiction wrote a bunch of questions for authors that you’re supposed to let people ask you, buuuut I felt like answering all of them instead of doing my actual job this afternoon. 😄 Here we go:
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
Like 25 maybe? I started writing about a year after I started reading it. I had a fanfiction-deprived adolescence, y’all.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
The hockey boys pulled me in years ago and they haven’t let me go. I do sometimes write other things: I almost always participate in Yuletide, and I’ve actually written a bunch of Animorphs fic under a different name (ask me if you want to see it!). Mostly hockey RPF, though.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
Haha neither. Well, I guess OC’s, if I had to choose -- I don’t read or write reader inserts. But I tend to keep OC’s for original fiction.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
I was very confused about fic having genres before I realized this was probably referring to the genre of the canon works. Um...sports. :D
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
Don’t make me choose my favorite child. Um, probably the first wolfverse story -- I don’t know if it’s the best one, but I’m very grateful to it for starting the ‘verse!
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
None of them, if that’s an option. If I really had to choose...probably the Kirk/Spock fic I never finished even after uploading it to AO3 and promising to finish it this time. I still want to finish it!! But it would be the first to go.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
I don’t have a strong preference. Afternoon/evening. I like having multi-hour blocks, and I use the Forest app to keep me off my phone while I do it.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Plot bunnies come from all over the place: random thoughts, memes, real-life conversations, suggestions from other fandom people. I tend to have a pretty strong “THIS IS A STORY I WANT TO WRITE” response when something grabs me the right way.
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Haha this is probably why I’m not supposed to just answer all of these in order. XD I’ll answer for my current WIP: the scene where Geno kisses Sid for the first time. So soft. So angsty. 😈 (My own story has cursed me to love Geno. I am doomed.)
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
In general: I know how my stories are going to end when they start. Sometimes it does evolve a bit as I write. One thing I’d like to play with is including more of the main characters being together at the end of the story, instead of ending it at the moment when they get together; the latter makes sense from a tension perspective, but I’ve been finding when I read lately that I want more of the happy times at the end, so I’m going to try to move in that direction.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Only for typos, I think.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Ooooh. Either Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews. There’s something so compelling to me about Patrick’s fanon voice. And every love interest in every original story I try to write is Jonny.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
I...don’t really write about characters I don’t like? I wish Auston Matthews would shave his mustache.
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.
About fifty percent of the titles I come up with are desperate scrambles because I’ve got nothing. The other fifty percent I have a perfect song lyric for from the start.
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
I only write OC’s in original fiction, but: I’ve been phonebanking lately, and I’ve been writing down all the good names I come across. The best so far is someone with the last name Quackenboss.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
MAGIC.
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
Oh...oh no. Um.
“It doesn’t matter what he was thinking about. His knot popped; that’s the important thing.”
Some of you can probably guess what that’s about. :)
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Mostly on my computer. I have a lot of beginnings of stories I haven’t finished yet; many of them I’ll probably go back to. I tend not to post things until I’m done or close to done with them. (That one Star Trek fic being an exception. Mea culpa.)
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
YES. The 1988 timer one and the 1988 story where Patrick’s a girl who sneaks onto the Blackhawks in disguise. I’d love to do a Bennguin version of both of those.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Hm. Some of them I think I rushed a little. More Than I Could Ever Promise, I think it needs a good old-fashioned battle scene in the mountains at the end to really round out the plot.
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Have I mentioned astolat? What, only two or three hundred times? I should mention her again, then. Give me that woman’s ability to plot. Inject it into my veins.
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
Haha. I often have slightly cringy moments in my old stories. You Made My Life an Adventure, I definitely didn’t really know what I was doing yet...
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
I usually listen to music.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Turned on.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Yes. The sequel to My Heart Forgets to Beat.
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
The Sid/Geno wolfverse story I’m working on now is maybe the hardest thing I’ve ever written. The language barrier is such a new challenge for me.
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I don’t formally outline, but I tend to have a sense of the major plot beats. One reason I love writing fic is that the plot and world tend to be straightforward enough for that. I have a lot more trouble doing that with original fiction.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
This will radically reduce the amount of time I spend writing original fiction.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Like You Have a Secret I think is less read than some of the others because it’s het, but I really love it. Similarly, some of my stories that are inspired by other works (Tangled, Doctor Who, The Giver) tend to be read less because people think they need to know the source material, when really I deviate from the source material so much it’s not important.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Huh. Probably not. I’m definitely surprised when some stories take off -- Kinda Narrows It Down I wrote pretty quickly, on a whim, and I was surprised by the extent to which it resonated with people. Turns out lots of people think Tyler was coming out in that tweet. XD
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
Ooh. Ignoring the terms of this question, but: I just read this TK/Patty story and loooved it. It’s a different take on werewolves than the one I use in wolfverse, and it’s super compelling:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/24029188
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Hahahahahaha. (I mean...less so than you might think.)
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
I absolutely love it when people write screaming flaily responses to my fic. Also anytime anyone says that they’ve been having a tough time and my story was exactly what they needed. Maybe my favorite was the responses to More Than I Could Ever Promise that told me it read like a novel; that meant a lot to me right then.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Fandom is amazing; people almost never give me concrit. I did have someone ask once if I randomly chose when to stop writing and just ended my stories there. I was pretty offended, since of course that’s not true at all, but I can see where they were coming from: my stories tend to wrap up after the characters get together, and sometimes there’s a lot of potential story left to tell at that point. But stories have to end sometime.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
I tend to share them! I find other people’s enthusiasm to be strongly motivating, and sometimes people have awesome suggestions I wouldn’t have thought of.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
Well, I only have the one. XD Sid...is about to have an important conversation with Mario.
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
Ooh, I’m not sure I’m the write person to answer! No idea, really. My recent TK/Patty is probably pretty funny. Or maybe Quality Time, where Patrick doesn’t understand why he keeps losing track of time when he’s cuddling with Jonny. Anything with a super dumb protagonist, probably.
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
Wow, I have no idea. I’ve never really written a story with someone, so I’m not sure how that would work. I want to say astolat again but honestly I’d be too intimidated.
...no, I’m gonna say astolat. Even if I made a fool of myself I think I would learn a ton.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
Third. For some original stuff I like first person, but third feels right for the hockey boys.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
My close friends do. Most of my friends have the vague idea I write fic, but they don’t know my username or anything.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?
Patrick Sharp. No question.
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
I will legit listen to a new album with a doc open to write down promising lyrics. Titles are HARD, y’all.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
I think people guessed where the Tangled fic was going. Though I also liked the guesses that it would be about Patrick’s mullet. XD I don’t really mind when people guess twists -- in the kind of story I write, it’s more about the experience of reading it than about surprise!
44) What is the last line you wrote?
“His parents have always been very respectful of any choices Sid’s wanted to make. They haven’t pried into his private life when he’s tried to set boundaries. But they’re wolves, and they know him a lot better than Jordy does. Sid isn’t going to be able to keep it a secret from them what he’s going through.”
...no guarantee it survives in that form. :D
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Getting the story out of my head and into reality! Spoon out that lake, baby.
I also do love the prospect of posting it for people to enjoy and respond to. It’s one of the reasons I find fic so much more rewarding than original fiction, where the timeline to a readership is so much longer.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
Things, probably.
47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?
This exercise might be going off the rails a bit. (If anyone does want to pose this to me, feel free!)
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
Ooh. Mutual pining. Friends to lovers. Werewolves. :D
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
The first fic I ever, ever read was a random Kirk/Spock one I found through google, and I was like “OMG IS THIS WHAT AROUSAL FEELS LIKE”
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Oh man. Angst, as long as it can have a happy ending. But it just wouldn’t be the same without the smut.

BAGONG YUGTO. New Chapter. This is Hope SG Filipino's 24th Anniversary theme. And while I just marked my 7th year with Hope this January, and now I am on my journey to 8 years, which is also the number for "new beginnings", I have been asking myself, what does this mean to me personally? What is my Bagong Yugto? "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." ~Isaiah 43:19 BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW FIRE Early this year, my core team member lost her job and had to go back to the Philippines. And so all the more I had to stretch myself, empower the life group and lean more on His leading - not mine but by His Spirit. This is still a work in progress but I claim new wineskin, new core team members, who would be on fire for God, and then eventually as we enlarge ourselves, fruitfulness will follow.
Tumblr media
I pray that God continue to work in us, individually and as a life group, so that all the more we can experience how good, how loving and how faithful our God is! In the same way, the Lord has been stretching us in the ministry for the past year amidst this pandemic. He has done great things in the ministry and in how He is using social media as His platform. Day by day, we are learning and exploring new things on how we can make Him known all over the globe with this ministry He has blessed us with. I am just blessed and humbled to serve Him with all my heart, mind and soul, both in the ministry and in the life group. He is my fire! And all these is by Him and for Him! BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW PERSPECTIVE The past few weeks before the conference, I've been thinking a lot. I've been asking God what's His plan for my life. What's next for me? Should I move to the States too, when one by one my ward friends are leaving for US and a family friend's actually offering to help me should I decide to move. Besides, US was the original plan. Singapore was supposed to be just a detour. Almost 10 years after, I am still here. Plus that infamous question: Will I ever have my own family too? So, I was really praying that in the conference, I will receive a word from God or a clear direction where He wants me to go. The answer came fast. On the first day during worship, I heard it loud and clear:
Tumblr media
And all throughout the conference, I was just reminded over and over again. God is faithful, so be faithful. Keep sowing. Keep planting. Keep reaching out. Keep loving. And He will take care of the rest. Besides, He never told me to move. It was just me. You see, comparison triggers jealousy and so never compare your life to others because God has His own story for you and me. Look unto Jesus. Fix your gaze and thoughts upon Him. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." ~Matthew 6:25-34 BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW HEART The first half of the year has been very painful for our family. I praise God that He has blessed me with a very loving and closely knitted family, and so the sudden loss of two of my Uncles in Papa's side, both I am close with, has left us bewildered, broken and very hurt. Early in April, Tito Erick, Papa's youngest brother, was hospitalized for COVID. In just a few days, he was transferred to the ICU because his oxygen level wasn't picking up and his biomarkers were all deranged. His wife, Tita Mitch, was then quarantined on another facility. Everyday we would all do video calls to check on Tita Mitch and get updates on Tito Erick. We would always encourage everyone in the family to keep on pressing on in prayer and keep believing that these too shall pass. That we've been through so much in the family before and we would be able to withstand all of these. I knew that God is a good God and He will never forsake us. I was anticipating that this will be our family's testimony of healing. But then one night, as if in a movie, there was a plot twist. Uncle Ahwee, Tita Shei's husband had a heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival. We were dumbfounded. I couldn't understand why all of these is happening, all together, at the same time. It felt like a dejavu. It felt like we were in 2014 all over again when Papa had an accident and he needed to go for a surgery and the next day Lolo Ama, Papa's father, passed away because of cancer. I questioned God why do our family had to experience all these pain again. Did I not pray enough for Him to hear my prayers? There were so many thoughts running on my head but we had to press on for Tito Erick. To still believe and keep praying that he will be healed. We kept Uncle Awhee's passing from Tito Erick. We even blocked him on Facebook so he won't see any post on Uncle Awhee's sudden death. During Uncle Awhee's wake, we were just amazed on how God poured out His love and provision through the help of the many people who loved Uncle Ahwee. Tito Erick's condition then was getting better. He regained some strength, enough to reply to us in our family's group chat. Every morning he would send some selfies to us to let us know that he is getting better. He found out about Uncle Awhee's passing when he saw a post from his high school batch mate but thank God during that time he was already able to take all the news in.
He then had a reswab and we were hoping that if it turned out to be negative, he will be transferred to a regular room. But the next day before dawn, on Lolo Ama's birthday, Tito Erick's oxygen levels dropped which then required him to be intubated. After two hours of being in critical condition, his heart stopped beating. The doctors tried to revive him but to no avail. It was so painful seeing his body lifeless through a video call. The whole day we were on iyak-tulala-iyak-tulala mode. We were so devastated. It felt like the enemy knew exactly where to attack me, that it found my Achilles heel, and it is succeeding. I already had thoughts of giving up and turning away from serving Him. He must have been punishing me for not being bold enough to do more for Him. But then I never heard my family questioned God. Yes, they couldn't understand why all these are happening, but they never once turned away from God. I thought I have the strongest faith, but theirs were stronger. God is still good, because despite of all what happened, He has made everyone in the family stronger in faith. He has reminded us how He has blessed us with a family that is so full of love, and that we are loved not just by Him but by the people that He has surrounded us with. I praise God for my spiritual family, ministry and friends who have helped me to stand when I couldn't, reminded me that I am not alone, and that God sees our pain and He is the only one who can turn it to joy. This wasn't the testimony I was hoping to share but God's thoughts are higher than mine. He has a different healing testimony He wanted me to share, not just for me, but for the whole family. Healing does not come in an instant. And until now, we are all still healing, slowly, taking it day by day. There are days that I still find myself dazed as if everything was just a dream. And same goes for them in the Philippines, in and out of loneliness and what ifs. But praise God we have each other to constantly remind ourselves that God is a good God and in Him, our broken hearts can be made whole again. As God promised in Revelations 21:5, "Behold, I make all things new," He is giving us a new heart. He is renewing our spirits day by day. He is making us lean more on Him, trust Him that all these are for our good, and draw closer and closer unto Him. He is our refuge and strength. At the end of day, He is a sovereign God. I may not have control on everything but He has. And He has me and my family on the palm of His hands. Here's a spontaneous song when I was pouring and crying myself out to God. It is only in His presence that we can find healing.
Tumblr media
THERE IS MORE. Every year, I would always have a bible verse declaration for myself and just before 2021 entered, instead of a verse, He gave me a whole chapter, Ezekiel 47. And it dawned on me, how it is unfolding before my eyes, that all these things that has happened on the first half of the year is teaching me and molding me to lean more and more on Him so I could go deeper and deeper into my relationship with Him. I look forward that after everything, I will receive my inheritance! That all these is for my good and a preparation for what is ahead. This is a beginning of a new chapter of my life and my walk with Him! What a great and loving God He is and I will forever praise Him with my life! Oh praise and glory be upon Him, the King of kings, Lord of lords, Lover of my Soul, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus! "As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?” "Then He led me back to the bank of the river. When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” ~Ezekiel 47:3-12

2 Chronicles 8:11-10:19, Romans 8:9-25, Psalms 18:16-36, Proverbs 19:26
Today is the 23rd day of July welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is a joy and a privilege and an honor to be here with you today around the Global Campfire as we come in and take the next step forward together. Right now, this part of the year, this part of the month, we find ourselves in the book of second Chronicles. We’ve been reading for the New Living Translation this week, which is what we’ll continue with today. Second Chronicles chapter 8 verse 11 through 10 verse 19.
Commentary:
Alright. So in the book of Romans we had been discussing the law, its role, its function, its revealing of our failures and how it showed us what sin was and we’ve basically been talking about sin since for the last couple of days. And we get a really good picture of what we would…what we would call the now and the not yet, which is something that's described about Paul's writings, where there is a now. And, so, Paul was very confessional about his own struggles. Now he does the things he doesn't want to do. And he does the things that he doesn’t want to do, and who…who can free him, and only Jesus can free us. But we have this kind of squatter, sin, who has no claim, but if we obey then we become a slave. And, so, we always have this choice. And, so, it's essentially Paul's conviction that sin will get us in the end, in this mortal body. In other words, we will die in this mortal body, but sin has no claim to our Spirit and day by day we are being transformed into the likeness of our Savior. In fact, it's the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead that's with in us. And if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, raised Christ from the dead than we can expect the same things, that we will experience resurrection as well. So, that's kind of a summary of what we are reading today, but let's just put it in Paul's own words. “Christ lives within you. So, even though your body will die because of sin the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead. He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” And, so, Paul’s saying this is a…a current state of reality for us, but we’re in the in between. This is a process, and this is where we are. Our bodies in a sinful world are going to wear down but our Spirits will be renewed every day. And ultimately the not yet will be the now and we will be restored to complete perfection as it was intended to be. Paul says it like this, I quote, “yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later for all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who is children really are, for we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time and we believers also grown even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We too to wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.” Okay. So, that's the not yet. That is what we are hoping for, a time when sin is no more, and death has died, death has been swallowed up in victory. So, essentially if we had a boil down what we've been saying over the last few days it is that sin is a thing and sin, even though we are free from its claims to us is something that we can still choose to obey. We can still choose that kind of slavery if that's what we want. We’re just not perpetually in that state. It doesn't have a claim to us anymore. We died to it and we’re resurrected spiritually. We have right standing before God. We have been grafted into his family. We can call him Abba, Papa, Father, Daddy. We don't have to be afraid. I mean, I have a little boy, his name is Ezekiel. He’s gotten really popular around here this year for reading Daily Audio Bible Kids and he’s doing a great job, but he’s a little boy and he does things that are wrong from time to time, and he does things that he knows are wrong from time to time. And if he has to come and confess or acknowledge because something's been discovered that he has done, something that he knows is wrong he doesn't come to me in terror. He’s not afraid of who knows what I might do to him. He comes and he knows he's done wrong. So, he already knows it was wrong. He's already learned. He may have punishment. He may have consequences that have arisen out of his own actions, but he doesn't have to have terror. He's my son. I am his poppa, his abba, his daddy, his father. So, we may wrestle with the things that we struggle with that we’re trying to medicate or soothe or fill or whatever. We may choose things that ultimately separate us from God or are sinful but we don't have to live in terror of our Father. We need to run to our Father, confess our ultimate and utter dependence and kick the squatter out of our lives. This may be theological, even technical in some ways, but this is the good news. God wants you back and will never stop wanting that for everyone. And, so, let's carry that forward into this day and into this weekend.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, come. May we rest in the knowledge that You really do love us, that maybe we exasperate You at times because of our foolishness, but You really love us deeply, individually. You know our stories. You know who we are and where we've come from. And, so, we come to You. There is no other place to go. Even when we choose things that are destructive in our lives, help us Holy Spirit to rapidly recognize what's going on and rapidly return to our source of life itself. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Good morning Daily Audio Bible family God bless you God bless the Hardin family and the reading of the scriptures. I am Lauralee. I am 16-year listen her. I am 16 years old…17 years old in Christ and I'm just calling. I came to work to this morning and got news that Adrian Lubetkin died last night. Father your word says it's appointed to man once to die and then face judgment. We have prayed for Adrian, that her own understanding about death would be changed in the last couple weeks, that you would perform heart surgery on her. And I have great faith because I saw you do it for my dad. I witnessed it, I saw it. So, I have great faith, that even though I didn't see it that you answered our prayers for Adrian according to your will because you don't delight in the destruction of the wicked and you want everyone to be saved. So, we asked and I trust you that I will see her and that you performed a miracle because you are God of miracles and You're good and You love your creation. I pray that You have made her one of Your very own and we’ll see her later in the name of Jesus. Thank you have a good day.
Hello DAB family this is the Disciple that He loves in Ohio. I've been listening for years now but have never called. I just desperately need prayer for my daughter. She's 15 and has been battling depression since she was 11 or 12. She has such a good heart and at times I just see glimpses of the person she's supposed to be but she's stealing and lying and is so far away and she just says all the time that she doesn't see a point of living and she wants to die. It just breaks my heart. I've prayed over this girl and loved her and asked angels to protect her her whole life and it just, I'm just worried. I'm afraid I'm going to lose her. She talks about dying and wanting to be dead all the time. I'm doing everything I can to get her the help but she just seems like she's getting worse instead of better. I just ask that everyone can come against the spiritual powers of wickedness and that are taking over her and that she would turn back to God and she would be healed over depression and her suicidal ideations. Thank you so much. I love you.
Hi this is Micah in Awe in Kansas City MO. I wanted to pray today for people today that are struggling with mobility issues. Shandra from Maryland you really touched me with your encouragement. And I tasted just briefly what it's like to be immobilized for…for about six months. I was on a knee scooter and kind of hurt to use my other foot to push the knee scooter but I still was able to. And I remember thinking of how…how much of a struggle it would be for someone in a wheelchair and how inaccessible certain places were like just different stores and I wanted to make a change but I just never did but I still want to and today I'm asking all of you out there whether your mobile or immobilized to pray for people that feel or are physically immobilized and not able to get around to where they want to go and feel like they're trapped. Let's pray. Lord today I ask for people all over the world not just DABbers, not just listeners, but everybody who struggles with immobilized…that are immobilized that you can help them feel free even when they are trapped, that you can help them with quality of life and joy when they can't do the things that they once were able to do. We ask for assistance with machinery and equipment that can help them, like if someone wants to get out on trails, some sort of like wheelchairs type bike or something. I don't know what it is but Lord you know what can be done. And I ask for changemakers, like…like make me a changemaker in the mobility area, that these people can have better quality of life and freedom Lord. But we know that our real freedom is in you Lord. Set them free internally and give them great joy. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Hey DAB family this is Sam in Seattle. I haven't gotten on to do a voice recording in a while but have kind of posted on the DAB friends and I’ve been keeping up there. I am coming to ask for prayer for people that are involved in family court. It's torturous. It's downright disgusting the things that are happening and how people with mental health conditions are allowed to use the court system to inflict wrongdoings upon the people that they have abused before or people that have been charged with domestic violence or assault on people, right? They are allowed to use the family court system to attack people's character, their jobs. So…and I…I've heard a lot of single parents on here before, you know, asking for prayers considering their kids and custody things. I even know there's somebody down South from me, I think you're in Kent, maybe you're in Tacoma, but a man that has been going through a lot of custody stuff too. So, I just…I want to ask for prayers for people that are involved in family court and the children…the children that are getting abused through this. Thank you.
Good morning Voice the bass player calling in from northern Nevada and I wanted to call and pray for Joe the Protector Who called to pray for someone else and…but mentioned that he started a new job recently and he's…he's having problems with other guys on the job not being believers. And, so, I pray for…I’m praying for Joe, that…that he could just keep a good heart, a good amount of positive thinking and thinking of the Lord and His goodness during his workday. But he also mentioned that he has three daughters or four daughters I think he said and none of them are walking with God. And I can relate to that because I have four children also and there's only one that I would consider to be walking with a Lord Jesus. And, so, I wanted to pray for all the people out there that have kids that are…that are not saved. You know, our children are the biggest blessing that we have from the Lord. A pastor friend of mine said having children is like having your heart outside of you walking around. And it's true. So, Lord Jesus I just pray for everyone who has children that need to be saved, that need to know you, that need to have their hearts changed by the Holy Spirit. I pray for all of them in Jesus’ name. And everyone have a great week. God bless.

Through the Bible with Les Feldick LESSON 2 * PART 4 * BOOK 77 CONNECTING THE DOTS OF SCRIPTURES – PART 44 Genesis – Revelation (The Kingdom) Okay, once again you’re all back from your break. This is our last program for this afternoon. After it’s over, we can go home.  For those of you joining us on television, we’ll see you tomorrow morning.  But anyway, we are so thankful for every one of you out there whether you contribute or not.  As long as we know you are praying for us, then the Lord will do the rest.  We know He’s touching a lot of hearts and lives through the teaching of His Word. All right, we’re still on what we started on several months ago called “Connecting the Dots of Scripture.” We’re still heading toward the end of the Book of Revelation.  Someday.  We’ve just finished, pretty much, the Old Testament in review—just hitting the high points of all the promises concerning this coming glorious earthly Kingdom over which we feel Christ—God the Son, Israel’s Messiah—will rule and reign some day soon. Now, before we go back to Matthew and pick up the New Testament account of this coming Kingdom, I’d like to take you back to Romans chapter 15 verse 8 where Paul makes another reference to this very same thing. But he clarifies what most of Christendom still doesn’t get.  That is, that Christ’s whole earthly ministry was to prepare Israel for this glorious Kingdom.  He came to present it—knowing, of course in His foreknowledge, that they would reject it and bring about the crucifixion which had to happen.  But nevertheless, it was a valid offer of this glorious Kingdom promised ever since Exodus 19. Romans 15:8 “Now I say that Jesus Christ was (From Paul’s point in time, it’s past tense.  We’re going to be looking at it in a minute from the very beginning.) a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:” What’s he talking about?  What we’ve been seeing for the last three half hours.  Those were the promises that were made to the fathers—first through Moses at Mt. Sinai, and then through the prophets and King David.  All these prophecies concerning this coming glorious Kingdom were promised to the Nation of Israel.  That was their “Heaven” that they were looking for. Now, a lot of people call and say, “Les, when did you catch on to all of this?  And how?”  Well, I just wrote a letter yesterday explaining it, so it’s fresh in my mind.  You can be turning back to Matthew chapter 3.  I had just started teaching home Bible classes outside of my regular denominational church.  I had been a Sunday school teacher and a deacon for many, many years.  About the third week, this lady came up after a class and she said, “Les, why isn’t Heaven taught in the Old Testament?”  I said, “What?”  I’d never heard of that.  I said, “What are you talking about?”  She said, “Well, those Jews had no idea of dying and going to Heaven.  It’s not back there.”  Well, that was a whole new concept to me.  So I had to get into the Book and start digging to prove her wrong.  But you know what?  She was right! The Jew had no idea of going to Heaven.  They were going to go to Paradise.  They were going to go down to Sheol.  They had to wait for the atonement, and then Christ emptied Sheol, or Paradise, and took it up to Heaven.  But see, she was so right that the Jew had no concept of going to Heaven. Now, the verse I usually like to use, keep your hand in Matthew, because I’m going to come right back.  Come back with me to Job.  We’ve done this before for some of you. But for those of you who are just getting part of this, we’ve got to prove that this is what the Jew was looking for.  Job puts it perfectly.  Chapter 19 verses 25 and 26 and this is exactly the concept that the Jew had of death and life after death.  It wasn’t the idea that we have of going up to Heaven.  They were going to come to a heaven on earth. Job 19:25-26 “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the
latter day (Where?) upon the earth:  (at the latter day, not at the beginning, at the last) 26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, (In other words, he dies and goes back to the dust, yet here was his future.) yet in my flesh (resurrected flesh) I shall see God:” And where’s God going to be?  Standing on the earth! So Job had the right idea.  That after he had finished this life of the physical and he died, one day he would be resurrected back to the earth.  But it wouldn’t be the earth under the curse, it would be an earth under the Kingdom authority of the Messiah.  The whole Old Testament view of their eternal destiny was to come back to an earthly Kingdom. Matthew chapter 3 is the first reference that we have to it in the New Testament.  And don’t forget what Paul said—that Jesus Christ, when He came in His first Advent, was a minister of the circumcision (that’s Israel), not the whole human race.  He was a minister for the Nation of Israel to fulfill, or bring to completion, all these Old Testament promises of a coming glorious earthly Kingdom. Matthew 3:1-2 “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Not the Kingdom of God - the Kingdom of Heaven. Now, remember a couple of years ago, Sharon put it on the board.  I think I referred to it a little earlier this afternoon, that the Scripture uses those two terms almost interchangeably—“the Kingdom of God” and “the Kingdom of Heaven.”  Well, they’re not one and the same.  Yet they’re intertwined, because the Kingdom of God is that overall sphere of God’s righteous influence.   To make it simple, imagine a large circle called the Kingdom of God.    Now inside that large circle we have two smaller circles.  One is called the Kingdom of Heaven, and one is called the Body of Christ. There is nothing of the unrighteous here, but only that which is righteous—which includes Heaven and the angels, every believer from Adam, Abel and on up through the Old Testament, and then you come to the Body of Christ.  We, too, are in the Kingdom of God, but we are singularly in a smaller sphere called the Body of Christ. Maybe I should ask Sharon to draw it again. I don’t want to, but she could.  But nevertheless, the other entity that’s in that big circle is the Kingdom of Heaven.  So you’ve got the Kingdom of Heaven sitting over here inside the Kingdom of God waiting to be fulfilled. Over here we’ve got the Body of Christ in which you and I are a part; and it’s already, just about we think, full.  It’s also in the Kingdom of God.  So, when Paul speaks of the Kingdom of God, he’s talking about the big circle.  But when he gets down into the nitty-gritty of where we are, he calls us the Body of Christ. Now John the Baptist is introducing this other entity that’s in the Kingdom of God—the Kingdom of Heaven.  And that’s this earthly 1,000 year reign of Christ on a planet earth that has been totally regenerated. It has been lifted from the curse. It’s going to be made beautiful just as it was in the beginning.  That’s why we have been looking all afternoon at the Old Testament prophecies concerning this Kingdom of Heaven. Now, what most of Christendom doesn’t understand is that this is strictly a Jewish phenomenon.  It is only between God and Israel. It is to Israel that He’s going to promise this glorious earthly Kingdom.  Albeit, we know that in the Tribulation, 144,000 Jews, with their preaching around the globe, will bring in multitudes of Gentiles who will become the Gentile part of the earthly Kingdom.  But Israel will be the primary player.  Israel will be by far the largest nation during the 1,000 year reign. But all the other Gentile nations are going to come into the picture, because it’s going to be a population explosion.  But for the most part, I want you to see that the Kingdom of Heaven is a God and Israel relationship.  So when John the Baptist began preaching to the Jews of the day of Christ’s earthly ministry, the language was “the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
But the verse that most of Christendom totally misconstrues is where Jesus said, “the Kingdom of Heaven is within you.”  But it was a rank error in translation, because that Greek word translated within is actually better translated in your midst.  Now, think about that.  The Kingdom of Heaven is in your midst.  How?  In the person of the Messiah.  Just like John says here, “the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”  Why?  Because in a few days he’s going to introduce the King.  Here comes Jesus now in His earthly ministry proclaiming to be Israel’s Messiah, Redeemer, and King. Now, in order to set that a little straighter, I’m going to take you back to verses that we’ve used over and over through the past many, many years. That is Peter’s confession in Matthew chapter 16.  Turn with me to that.  Matthew 16 and we’ll drop in at verse 13.  I’m going to come back to another verse that we use over and over and over, because most of Christendom rejects it.  They’ll just actually say I don’t believe that.  Well, they’re in trouble. But let’s look at Matthew 16 first, at the end of His three years. They’re up in northern Israel. In short order they’re going to be heading back south and up to Jerusalem for the Passover and the crucifixion.  But the Twelve don’t know that.  Jesus does, but the Twelve don’t.  But what Jesus is getting the Twelve ready for, is to make sure they understand who He is.  All right, that’s the whole idea of these verses right here. Matthew 16:13a “When Jesus came into the borders of Caesarea Philippi,…” Now, that’s clear up on the very northern border of Israel.  It’s at the headwaters of the Jordan River.  For those of you that are going with us to Israel this fall, we’ve got plans made to go up there.  We’re going to go up to Caesarea Philippi, the headwaters of the Jordan River. Matthew 16:13b “…he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” That’s a simple question, isn’t it?  Fellows, whom do people up and down the highways and byways of Israel, the rank and file, or today they use the term “the street.”  Who do they think I am?  Now, look at the ridiculous answers. Matthew 16:14a “And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist:…”  Well, my heavens, what happened to John the Baptist?  Got imprisoned and then got his head cut off.  So how could this be John the Baptist?  But see how ridiculous people can get? You know, I’m always making the point.  Do you realize that people 2,000 years ago were not a nickel’s worth different than we are today?  Not a nickel’s worth.  Oh, we may have a little more modern conveniences and so forth, but our basic thoughts and actions – there’s no difference. Matthew 16:14b-16a “…and some think you are Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. 15. But Jesus saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?  (They’d been with Him now for three years.) 16. And Simon Peter (the spokesman) answered, and said, Thou art the Christ,…”  Now, unless you understand Scriptural language, when he says, “Thou art the Christ,” what did he really say?  Who was He?  The Messiah!  That’s what the word Christ means in the Greek.  It comes from the Hebrew word, the Messiah, the Anointed One. So, Peter is recognizing that He is the Promised King.  Well, if He’s the King, what was Peter looking for?  The Kingdom!  They weren’t looking for a crucifixion, for heaven sakes.  They were looking for the Kingdom to come in.  All right, so he says: Matthew 16:16b “…Thou art the Christ, (You are the King, but he also qualifies that he was--) the Son of the living God.”  Who alone could be the King of this heavenly Kingdom? All right, now when I said that this was strictly a Jewish phenomenon, I’ll have to bring you back to Matthew chapter 10.  Come back a few pages to Matthew chapter 10.  Then you’ll see what I mean.  And again, He has just chosen the Twelve.  He’s ready to begin their earthly ministry with Him of three years.  So in verse 5: Matthew 10:5 “These twelve
Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:” Now, that’s plain English.  Don’t have a thing to do with Gentiles, likewise the Samaritans down there who were half-breed Jews, remember.  But, now here’s what they were to do in verse 6. Matthew 10:6-7 “But go rather (or instead) to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7.  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is (Out there in the future?  No.  What is it?)  at hand.”  Why?  Because the King was here! Now we know some theologians disagree with me on this basis—that Jesus could not have offered the Kingdom before the cross.  I can see where they’re coming from.  But on the other hand, I say, now wait a minute.  There was another time that Jesus made an offer to the Nation of Israel, and it was just as valid as this one. That was when He offered them the Promised Land.  You remember that?  What did He tell them?  Go in and take it.  It’s yours. It’s all been made ready for you.   He used the labor of the Canaanites for 400 years preparing the land of Canaan for the Nation of Israel.  Got all the wells dug.  Got all the granaries built.  All the housing was ready.  The vineyards were producing.  The grain fields were producing.  The Canaanites must have been a tremendously technologically-oriented people. Consequently, it was a land of what?  Milk and honey.  And the spies brought back grapes so big that it took two men to carry the clumps of grapes.  Now listen, that’s quite a production feat!  But it was waiting for the Children of Israel.  They didn’t even have to draw a sword to drive the Canaanites out, because what did God promise?  I’ll send hornets ahead of you, and they’ll drive the Canaanites out, and all you have to do is occupy. Was it a valid offer?  Well, I reckon it was.  God doesn’t lie!  But what did God know?  That they wouldn’t do it.  And they didn’t.  And because of their unbelief, they went back into the desert and died off like flies over the next 40 years.  But could they have had it?  Yes, because God said they could. Well, I look at this the same way.  Yes, Jesus is in their midst, and He’s fulfilling all the Old Testament promises.  He’s proven now for three years who He is.  They could have had it, but what did they do?  They rejected it.  Now then, here’s where it becomes a little more valid.  After He’s been crucified—now let’s just move up a minute to the Book of Acts after He’s been crucified. The atoning blood has been shed, which Israel had to have. Now Peter and the Eleven come back beginning with the Day of Pentecost, and again, what are they offering?  The King and the Kingdom! Oh, granted, He’s gone back to Glory, but that doesn’t stop Him.  It’s only a split second for God to move from Heaven to earth.  So the whole idea was that now it was definitely a valid offer, because the atoning blood has been shed.  The price of redemption has been paid.  Israel, it’s yours for the taking.  All right, now come with me to Acts chapter 3. Then I’m going to back up to Acts chapter 1, if we’ve got time.  But look at Acts chapter 3, when He made a valid offer of the Kingdom.  Peter is speaking. Acts chapter 3:18 “But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, (See, all the things we’ve been looking at all afternoon.) that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.” So, what’s Peter saying?  There’s nothing left for God to do.  So, in whose park is the ball?  Israel’s.  It’s in Israel’s park.  And what were they to do with it?  Believe it!    Believe that He was the Christ.  Believe that He has now paid the price of redemption.  Believe that He’s the promised King and He will bring in this earthly Kingdom.  Now verse 19: Acts 3:19-20 “Repent ye therefore, (Well, what was the big thing Israel had to repent of?  The crucifixion.  The rejection.  Repent of it!) and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing (Kingdom blessings) shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20.
And he (God) shall send Jesus Christ, who before was preached unto you:” Now, you can’t get any plainer than that? All Israel was expected to do was repent of the sin of rejection and unbelief, and God could have sent Jesus Christ to fulfill all these Old Testament promises.  But of course, Peter now comes back and suddenly realizes that it couldn’t happen until the Tribulation unfolded—that’s verse 21. Acts 3:21a “Whom the heaven must receive (in other words, at His ascension) until (time word) the times of restitution of all things,…” Well, what does restitution mean?  Made like it was at the beginning.  So Peter realizes that Christ has to stay in Glory at the Father’s right hand until the Tribulation has run its course and the curse is lifted, as we’ve been seeing for the last several months now.  The earth will be made ready to be reconstructed like the Garden of Eden.  The curse is gone, and it’ll be a glorious, beautiful Heaven-on-earth experience.   But Israel rejected it.  They continued to reject it and reject it and reject it. Okay, now I’ve got to back up a moment.  In Matthew we’ve got the preaching of Christ.  They are to go into the Nation of Israel only and not have anything to do with anybody else but Israel.  But in Israel’s unbelief, they rejected Him.  Now we come into the Book of Acts chapter 1. With this we’ll probably have to wind up this half hour.  Acts chapter 1 and Luke is writing. Acts 1:1-3a “The former treatise (In other words, speaking of the Gospel of Luke, I think.) have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and teach, (in His earthly ministry.) 2. Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Spirit had given commandments unto the Apostles whom He had chosen: (the Twelve) 3. To whom (to the Twelve) also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days,…” Now, that’s that forty days between His resurrection and His ascension. Acts 1:3b “…and speaking of the things pertaining to (The what?) the kingdom of God:”  All the things that involved God’s righteousness.  But, you see, they couldn’t talk about the Church Age, because that wasn’t revealed yet.  They couldn’t talk too much about the Kingdom on earth, because that hadn’t happened yet.  But all the rest of God’s righteousness was certainly a topic for conversation. Acts 1:4-5 “And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, he saith, ye have heard of me. (Which was, of course, the Holy Spirit coming on the Day of Pentecost.) 5. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.”  Now verse 6 and here’s where we’re going to wind up. Acts 1:6 “When they therefore were come together, (The Eleven.  Judas is gone, and Mathias is not in yet.  It’s the Eleven and Jesus.) were come together, (the Eleven) they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the (What?) kingdom to Israel?”  What’s on their mind?  The Kingdom.  The King. Now, I don’t think as yet they realize that He’s suddenly going to be taken up from them.  He’s now been dead, buried, and resurrected.  Hey, what’s to stop the Kingdom from coming in?  So that was the question.  And what was Jesus’ answer?  What’s the matter with you guys?  No.  He merely says: Acts 1:7 “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”  What’s He saying?  Well, Peter, the Kingdom is coming.  I’m still going to be your King.  But it’s not for you to know when. And in the next few verses, what happens?  He goes back up to Glory.  Well, that was according to the Old Testament prophecies.   What did Psalms 110 verse 1 say?  “Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”  And that, of course, is what He did, and where He has remained up until now.  But the day is
getting closer and closer when He is going to arise from that seated position; and He’s yet going to return and set up that glorious 1,000 year Kingdom!
